I feel like I am in the final stretch here. Only 6 weeks and a day until my scheduled section. Now if I can just get my toddler to sleep through the night. We have been working on taking away nighttime milk and getting him to sleep in his big boy bed for 2 months and since my husband works nights, I am making minimal progress. I am tired and it's hard not to just give in for the sake of sleep. Good news is that we are on night two of absolutely no milk past bed time.

Good work hairbows! Its very hard having a wee one when you are about to have another ( I know you have been there before) sounds like you are making good progress I'm sure everything will fall into place before your darling girl arrives. I have finished work and somehow after the past 4ish months of restraint I have gone crazy baby shopping!! Less than 2weeks till my section, getting so excited!! Xxx

Well done Hairbows! Dropping night feeding is so hard. My youngest still has a breastfeed to go to sleep at night. I thought I would have dried up during pregnancy & he would have naturally dropped the feed, but I still have plenty of milk! I'm not particularly concerned we will work it out as we go, but tandem feeding wasn't something I was planning on.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi :) I hope everyone is doing well! I'm not around much anymore. Little guy is adorable, but a needy little monster. Haha. I should expect nothing less of a newborn. But he is sweet, so ill survive. Four kids 5 & under is absolutely insane. Just in case anyone was wondering ;) Hopefully I'll be back around for more baby announcements. Congrats to the new mamas. And I hope the waiting mamas are comfortable as possible for the time being.

I just had a full week alone with all 3 kids. With it being march break it was crazy. My baby girl is also a tad fussy and hates to be put down lol. It's been tough to even eat most days! But of course worth it.

Sunflower those pics are sooo cute! The little stripey outfit... You sound like you are doing a great job juggling 4 kids!!
I am a little nervous about having a newborn in the house. My boys are 5 and 7 so I'm a little fuzzy!! Hoping I can just go with the flow. This whole journey has been amazing so honoured I can share this with experience with you all XXX

Okay feeling a wee bit sorry for myself!! Found out today my c section date has been moved to 8th April, six days later than I thought. I know its a bit spoilt but I had 2nd April in my head!
She is measuring 2 weeks behind so I'm off for a growth scan tomorrow so its probably a good thing more cooking time, but I will be drowning my sorrows with a glass of bubbly and chocolate tonight Xx

Georgia_Peach
March 22nd, 2015, 10:37 PM
Awwee that sucks kit kat. I know the feeling since my girl was late. Just a heads up though.. I was always measuring 2-3 weeks behind in belly measurements and I had a ultrasound the day before I gave birth. It said my baby would be 7 pounds 5 oz. She was actually 8.6. Just know that they can be off by a pound or 2.
I like April 8th though.. Easter baby!

kitkat18
March 23rd, 2015, 01:23 AM
Thanks Robin! I won't freak out if she appears a bit smaller my first thought was all her clothes will be too big as like you ( I think) tend to have bigger babies my first 8 pounds a week early and second 9 pounds on my due date!! Feeling better about it all now and looking forward to another sneak peek of her tomorrow and double checking that she is still a she!!! Xxx

Georgia_Peach
March 23rd, 2015, 07:56 AM
Haha yes i doubled checked too! Let us know how it goes kit kat!

kitkat18
March 23rd, 2015, 11:50 PM
She has chubby legs!! Rolls of fat, hilarious so no teeny tiny baby for me. The scan really gave me a boost today and feel I can hack the next 2 weeks now and she is definitely still a she! Xxx

March 24th, 2015, 09:16 AM
Aww, yay for another confirmation that she is indeed a girl kitkat! I'm sorry ur c section date was pushed back, but I'm sure it will fly by with ur boys.
I'm nervous and excited to be induced on thursday. I'm planning on cleaning and getting everything ready today so I can just relax with my boys tomorow. Can't believe my baby will be here in 2 days!!

How is life been treating you ladies with newborns? :) I hope they are letting you get some sleep!
Aoii, sunflower, robin etc... :)

March 24th, 2015, 11:39 AM
So far so good. Not much sleep but she is a good baby. She just wants to eat every 2 hours! We are just getting adjusted to 3 kids. Life is busy!! [emoji38] the boys are great with her too. Hope everyone is doing good too and adjusting to life with a newborn. And good luck to all the ladies who are getting so close to having their babies!

Georgia_Peach
March 24th, 2015, 12:51 PM
My little lady goes longest 5 hours sleep stretches at night but that's rare. Mostly it's 3-4 hrs at a time. Life is very busy. Honestly right now I find the biggest challenge is the hormones adjusting back to normal. I am getting more irritated than normal. And also (this sounds silly) but I was a little disappointed when I didn't lose all the baby weight right away. I gained 45 pounds and still have a good 20 to lose. I know this can take time and is totally normal but still hard to get used to. I am on a no sugar/limited carbs diet and it sucks so maybe that's also why I am grumpy. Lol

Aoii1711
March 24th, 2015, 02:05 PM
Robin, I am so ready to lose the weight too! I have about 20 lbs to go too. Especially since this was my last pregnancy I just want to get into shape and stay in shape this time. I just don't want to diet too much and hurt my milk supply.

kitkat18
March 24th, 2015, 02:42 PM
Blessed wishing you a speedy delivery of your gorgeous girl!! Enjoy your last day with your boys. Can't wait to see what she looks like!
Aoii and Robin sounds like you have typical newborns there sleeping just not enough!! Oh the come down in hormones sucks Robin I lost everything pretty much with DS1 right away...no effort required!! DS2 was a different story and I started dieting when he was about 3mths old, don't be afraid to put it off until you are getting a wee bit more sleep. LE anyone??? Hehe XXX

sweetdream
March 24th, 2015, 02:50 PM
Robin I gained like 40 pounds. Still 26 to go...
It goes slow.....

Sunflower3
March 24th, 2015, 06:42 PM
I gained about 60 lbs this time. Yikes! Weight is coming off slowly. I also dont want to have dieting effect my milk supply.
Is anyone co-sleeping? My little guy wakes twice a night. He sleeps a good 5 hour stretch. So wonderful. [emoji4]

Georgia_Peach
March 24th, 2015, 07:58 PM
I am unfortunately not breastfeeding. . So I'm not worried about that this time.
I am Co sleeping part of the night. First feeding she goes back to sleep in bassinet. Second feeding she wants to be close to me. I'm sleeping with her in my arms beside me. It's nuts. Lol. Hard to sleep. We are moving next week so I will start sleep training at that point.
Today has been nuts bc she hasn't let me put her down for like 6 hours now. Very fussy. Maybe gas. It's very hard to not give the boys my attention... especially since hubby is very busy at work and I'm all alone alot.

Robin2014 do you baby wear? I had pretty fussy babies but I didn't know how to wrap/wear with my first until he was several months old & the difference when he was able to be on me but my arms were free was HUGE. My second I just wore from the start & it made everything soooooo much easier. I used to sling him on my back in a half buckle carrier & make dinner while he slept there.

I am doing okay. Just got diagnosed with minor cholestasis of pregnancy so I am a bit nervous about that. I am itchy all over and doing kick counts multiple times a day. I will be 34 weeks tomorrow and having more blood taken in a week. If my levels continue to rise I may be having this little lady earlier than expected! How are you doing? Having so many pre labour pains its getting a bit annoying.Yesterday I spent the whole day in bed my poor DH. But only 1.5 weeks to go! Big hugs to everyone who like me is still waiting and for those that are getting little sleep with their newborns XXX

I had someone recently go on and on and ON about how terrible & awful it is that I'm having a 3rd son & that they feel so SORRY for me. When she realised I was offended they attempted to fix what they had said by saying "Well look, you have 3 sons - maybe one of them will marry a woman whose mother is already DEAD & then you'll be ok." [emoji102] It hit a nerve. The mother-in-law thing is probably my biggest fear/concern about having sons. Sigh.

What a total cow!!! People are so darn stupid it makes me sooo mad! I hope you gave her some back Primal. Yes the whole MIL gets me too, but seriously its not always the daughter that has this great relationship with their mum. One of my sisters doesn't even talk to my mum she cut her off. A good friend of mine always tells me about how her DH is so close to his mum and they talk all the time on the phone etc etc so sweet!

I have a few girlfriends who are not close to their mothers too. I wouldn't wish that on anyone though & I would never be selfish enough to wish that any of my sons couple with someone who has little family support. I think my fear comes from what I've been exposed to - my husband & all 3 of his brothers barely speak to their mother & if it wasn't for me maintaining our relationship she would be cut off altogether. My brother loves my Mum but he is far more involved with his wife's close knit family. My Dad was an only child & he remained dutiful & pleasant in his relationship with my Nanna but I wouldn't say close. I've never seen that closeness between an adult son & his mother.

Hopefully with our kids generation being less "children should be seen and not heard" and more all about the kids coming first, which is radically different to my grandparents generation, this will make a difference with showing love and affection into adulthood. A lot had changed in the past couple of decades x

I agree (again :D) with Mrsincredible!
I think though the whole MIL problem with mothers of boys might stem from control and power. That's how it's been for mil and me. She's way too controlling to the point where she demanded we move in with HER to 'keep an eye on us'. Even after we married, she'd always warn me of not 'messing' with dh and that dh was still her 'baby boy'. He he. He 'baby boy' is nearly 40! Her clingy behaviour was creepy as hell to say the least.
It drove dh and I away from her :( in other words, because of the batty old crazies, MILs of sons have a really bad rep.
I think when my boys have kids of their own someday, hopefully when they're 35, I'm not going to ever be the pushy grandma. Let my future DIL and son do whatever they want!
I just want to see the grandkids.

Mrs_Incredible
March 31st, 2015, 07:30 AM
Same here myloves. My mil ruined her relationship with my dh, and my dh's relationship with his brothers beyond the point it can not be repaired. I stood up for myself once. Dh supported me. But she poisoned things so much by bringing the family into our issue. She/they tried to turn dh against me even tho he agreed with me. I've not seen them in 5 years. Dh has tried to build bridges. He sees them now and again. They've not met my 3 yo ds or the baby. My elder 2 were over once before xmas as dh felt guilty. We stayed away because after my text (not a face to face argument) things were unbearable and it was threatening our marriage. Even now they don't see what was wrong. It made me ill but therapy helped ;) x

March 31st, 2015, 07:46 AM
Oh I'm so sorry you had to go through all that mrsincredible! I'm glad to hear therapy helped.
My first three have met mil (unfortunately) but the other two babies haven't. And I don't think they will.
My own mum passed away just before dd1 was born so my kids will not have a good granny to love them ever which saddens me more than anything. But as least they have their great aunt.

Mrs_Incredible

I would be honoured and stoked to have a DIL like you ( if that makes any sense) and yes My Loves I've said that to DH many many a time as long as I can see my grandkids I am going to try soooo hard not to be that controlling MIL!! April 10th, 2015, 04:55 AM
They only gain about half a pound a week. 8lb 9oz is a nice size. My last one was 9lb3oz. Pushing took longer than with my smaller kids, but I think that had more to do with his ginormous head. Fat squishes, heads...not so much.

Also ultrasounds are frequently off by as much as 2lbs at this stage. They say up to 2lbs, but I actually know women who had ultrasounds be off by 4 or more lbs.

It's all just guessing.

Her head was measuring 38w and 3days and her legs and stomach 36w and 2days, they said her head was 9 cm.. I know all the pain is going to be so worth it but my husband was a 12 pound baby and never got to wear newborn clothes and i have so much cute stuff for her to wear lol i hope she gets to wear her cute little clothes, im also terrified that its going to hurt so much worse than if i was having a little baby... Little Baby Jones don't worry too much about it, as we said the growth scans can be so out! What did your first DD weigh? Doesn't sound like she will be anywhere near 12lbs more like 7lbs at the biggest! You are not eating too much. Home straight now Xx

Average for a girl is 7lbs I would imagine you won't have bigger than 8lbs! The whole ordeal is nerve wracking especially when its your first but your body is built to do this! Go get yourself a Mani/pedi, have coffee or see movies with friends only 3 weeks till you meet your princess and get to dress her up!! XXX

How has your last couple of nights been Kitkat? Poor little munchkin, 9:30-5am? That's so hard. If she didn't seem uncomfortable or distressed then it's probably just her body clock all back to front.

Less than that is tough bickies. xx My caesarean is 15.05.15, so 4 weeks this Friday. Its sweet primal as he really wanted another brother so hopefully your big guy will feel the same when his little brother comes along! My DS who wanted a sister is pretty dis-interested in her!! Nice for you to relax though I hear you money wise!!... I had three weeks off and it did me so much good, long naps, last minute chores and lots of coffee dates! ( mind you my two were at school, which was a big treat!!). I was out of hospital after 2 nights and walking going toilet after 8 hrs this c section deft. my best by far!! I think it being planned and me having been through the process made it so much better. I'm sure you will be the same. And like the last pregnancy I have so much more energy with the baby out not in.

April 17th, 2015, 06:38 PM
Hey guys, steph is going to come back and post!
Okay after 2 good nights I'm back to having a party animal at night minus the good times!
She was awake from 9pm-5am for the past three nights. I have been waking her during the day every 2hrs for a feed and to make sure she doesn't sleep all day long, getting burps up. During the day she is good as gold hardly fusses. Night time she is awake, alert, fussy, uncomfy but not hysterical. Suggestions? I am so teary today!!! X

Georgia_Peach
April 17th, 2015, 08:39 PM
Is it gas? My little one has gas and gets fussy bc of it. We use infacol for her tummy and I do tummy time massage on her too. Seems to help. Also lots of burping.
It seems like she has her days/nights mixed up. I would suggest making a nightie routine (if you haven't already).
Mine goes something like this:

Bath
Massage
tight swaddle
White noise
Lights out
Hold until sleep (mine likes to suck on soother).
Then I lay her down.

Longest I've gotten is 7 hrs. But keep in mind an actual full night sleep for newborns is generally 5 hrs. Example- midnight to 5 am.

My best suggestion is only do white noise at night.
Make it different than day time activities..

Hope this helps?

Georgia_Peach
April 17th, 2015, 08:51 PM
Oh and i forgot to add you can get apps on your phone that have noises to soothe baby. Works like a charm!

kitkat18
April 18th, 2015, 07:15 AM
Thanks Robin! I rushed out and brought infacol. I did use this a little with DS2 do you use it before every feed or just the bedtime one?
I'm sure its trapped wind built up over the day as well as day/night confusion.
I have Downloaded a white noise app and she seems to really like this which I have added to bedtime routine. Fingers crossed we get a better night XX

Georgia_Peach
April 18th, 2015, 08:46 AM
I give her it when she seems extra fussy and I've tried everything else before. So more or less like 1 time per day.. but I think you can use it up to 3. Usually she goes poop after (couple hrs) give it and feels better!
I hope this works... I know how stressful it can be with a fussy baby.

Thanks Robin! I gave it to her at that last bedtime feed 7.30 ish and already we are having a better night. She has slept for three hours and only woken at 10.45pm and 2.30pm. MASSIVE improvement! At 10.45pm her tummy seemed really sore and she was cranky but I managed to settle her. Thanks sooo much for your input, I'm sure that white noise helps too Xx

Robin2014 sometimes breastfeeding doesn't help I got my period back at 6 weeks post partum too & DS2 was a huge, hungry baby exclusively breastfed til he was 12 months old (actually 15 months but that was because he chose not to touch the food I tried to give him). In fact he is STILL breastfed at night (yes, I still have milk at 36 weeks pregnant!!) So the 2 aren't always related. It's really shitty though!!

Hi girls sorry for the TMI but I've been having light pink to light red streaks of blood just when I wipe for 2 days now. I told the OBGYN & while she didn't seem concerned she did say I may go into labor early. I've never really considered this to be a possibility. My other 2 kids went to 41 and 42 weeks. Has anyone had bleeding before? What was your experience regarding early labor etc??

Yeah I have 2 best friends who are doulas & they both suggested it is my show coming slowly. So I may have dilated a centimeter or 2 & stopped. The bleeding seemed to stop yesterday. The first time I didn't ever see my show it went when my waters broke. My second I lost it all in one blob (eww sorry) a day or 2 before labor. I'm hoping it stops. My OBGYN has been fantastic agreeing to a lotus delivery (even though she has never done one!) & has keyed up her anesthetist to fixing the ECG dots to my back & stats probe to my toe to facilitate unimpeded skin-to-skin. I really don't want that compromised by an emergency labour, which would mean I wouldn't necessarily have my own OBGYN. AND I have a maternity photo shoot on 3rd May which I am desperate to make!

I had my membranes swept today, which hurt like hell but i knew it would so i can say for the most part it wasnt too bad. but my doc and everyone else has reccomended sex before i have to be induced next Wed. To try and start labor naturally and me and husband just had sex but it was literally the worst ive ever had and im sure for him too, i just kept pushing him out and tightening up i so didnt want it at all. Thats never happened with me before, i feel like crap and like i was so unsatisfying for him as well :(

PrimalMamma
April 22nd, 2015, 03:42 AM
Oh LittleBabyJones yuck, membrane sweeping is awful & so is sex in that context. He must have felt horrible too. I had membrane sweeping weekly from 37 weeks with my first & looking back I don't know why, my midwife was quite aggressive & it just made me very anxious. I hope you go into labor naturally & avoid all the hoo-har of induction. I've had a dreadful time with sex this pregnancy, for other reasons - I've wanted it quite a bit whereas my husband finds the whole idea of sex in pregnancy really off putting. Consequently I have been VERY frustrated. I am glad that now I have the spotting sex isn't advisable as I don't WANT to induce labor! So I can stop resenting him for his lack of interest. Poor man.

He is still pretty high maintenance, but getting a little more predictable at least. He loves his mama, so that is awesome. Felix Michael Archer was born today at 9:48am. He was delivered via elective caesarean. It was the first ever lotus caesarean delivery at my hospital. This amazing photo collage shows some of my amazing birth photography which was taken by the Head of Obstetrics who is also a published photographer.

Recovery is WORSE this time than either of my emergencies. They got me up to shower this morning & I fainted 3 times & when I came around the 3rd time I had forgotten where I was & that I had ever been pregnant let alone had a baby. However, Felix is lovely & I am rather besotted. My older boys are fascinated with him, they came to meet him yesterday & Eamon asked "Can we keep him mummy? Can he live in our home?" [emoji170] Here's a bit more baby spam because AWWWW! 252742527525276

Wow, what a scary recovery. I hope you're feeling better soon. Did they put a drip in? Such a gorgeous little man and what an adorable comment from your son.

Yes Boysway I lost 950ml blood in surgery, my blood pressure had dropped to 80/50 & my hemoglobin was only 83 so they put a drip in & were also looking at a blood transfusion but I declined because there is a shortage of blood donors here ATM & mine will replenish over the next few days. I would rather leave it for emergency victims.

You poor thing, I thought you must have lost blood. I haemorraged after I had my last child because the labour was so fast. They kept me in the birthing unit overnight and I passed out when the midwife was out of the room while getting myself ready for a shower. I had to have IV fluids through the night and had an unknown amount of blood loss. Make sure they talk to you about upping your iron levels. I was lucky enough to avoid the shots for my iron levels but needed to be on a high dose of iron tablets for 6 months after I had bub.

Congrats on the new Bubbas!! Gorgeous pictures.

Primal, what an amazing c-section! A fantastic birth in pictures to cherish!
I hope you recover well soon.

Sorry I haven't been on here much - have been busy with my little monsters...had a few bad days there and then with GD especially when I found out my step sister is expecting her first bb and its a girl and just random bb girls everywhere lol ....Diego is adorable though, a very chilled out and contended baby , he also sleep through now which isn't bad at 11weeks!
Thinking of you all. Love for now xxxx

Raaahhhh Babybeau people are dicks. I haven't left the house yet (Felix is only 6 days old & I'm still tender from the caesarean) but I'm bracing myself for the "Oh, ANOTHER boy?!" remarks when I do. I am so in love with my new little son, I'm thrilled he is here & wouldn't swap him for anything... That being said if HT was introduced in Australia in the next couple of years (unlikely) I would be VERY tempted to have a fourth given I would know for sure it would be a little girl. But in reality - I'll be 35 in a few weeks, we are now a family of 5 living in a 3 bedroom house & I want to go back to University to study midwifery. So I think my days of babies & pregnancy & birth are sadly behind me. I can't believe I will never grow another person in my body, & that this little guy is my last newborn ever. The last 6 years have changed me & it's hard to remember what life was like before I had babies, but time has gone in a flash & I can't believe I'm on the other side of the motherhood hill, the side where kids grow up & no one new comes in to take their place & the baby goods are sold or given away instead of packed away for the next one, and no one in the whole house will wear nappies. Sigh.

Wave Lavie!! Update us with another PIC of that gorgeous Diego. Isn't GD a bitch!!! I'm with you primal this is my last and its bittersweet... She is already out of her newborn clothes and into 0-3 mths time is flying I just want it to slow down a bit. I just know I will want another when she gets to 18mths - 2!! But it would be literally over my husbands dead body!!! He has made me promise I will not nag him for another.... Xx

Primal you have taken the words out of my mouth, I am so depressed thinking about how I will never be pregnant or have a newborn again... If I was guaranteed to def get pregnant with ht I would seriously consider it, but all that money for it not to work is too much of a sacrifice. I'm 35 now, and would def not want to be much older if we were to try again. Also we couldn't afford a bigger car and there's the mc risk I couldn't cope with again.

I was nice with the lame ass comments with DD3 but I wouldn't be so nice this time around.

One of these days you should tell someone to go f**k themselves with the sweetest smile you can muster because they deserve it if they are stupid enough to make comments about all girl families!!!
