Happy Saturday night :) well it's Sunday night here in Australia now. I had 2 meals out and hit 1700, including 2 gin and tonics. Did one hour of spin though. Tomorrow is back to work so should be back on track :)
Dana-Alicia
May 24th, 2015, 07:43 AM
1700 calories are fine right? I think atomic says between 1500-1800 calories! So you're right on track in my opinion. Maybe you had too much fat due to eating out, but ey, as long as you are fine the rest of the days it's all good :)
Hitmebabyonemoretime
May 24th, 2015, 09:00 AM
Yep 1500-1800 is the standard. I go lower generally but only bc the weight wasn't really coming off. I guess had had a little weight to lose, bc im losing the 2-3 pounds a week now on the slightly lower cals. I usually come in around 1400.

I think the calories recommended on your custom plan would be different for everyone. I think I'm supposed to be closer to 1800 because I'm already a lower BMI and still breastfeeding.

Yes, I had a look and that range is ok. Went pretty well today, vege wrap for lunch, got home exhausted so ended up with take out again :( anyone got suggestions for freezable meals? I might try cooking on the weekend to avoid this!
Dana-Alicia
May 25th, 2015, 06:45 AM
When I conceived my little girl I ate loads of pasta with low fat cheese sauce. That could be easily frozen I think? I also intend to get a lot of vegetarian eggrolls and freeze them. They are low in calories and fat, lots of vegetebles and very filling. Oh and samosa's, love those! Just watch out for garlic, unions and other boy friendly foods.

I don't have a large freezer so I don't do a lot of freezer meals anymore - but on mega tired days canned veg soup and crackers is my go to. (Some people are anti salt but there are low sodium soups too). Also veg burgers take 5 mins on the grill and those uncle bens 90 second microwave rices. Those are my quick go to suggestions

Ok so does red meat always sway boy? Or is it fine if you stay under your fat and protein for the day? I'm thinking of having a burger for dinner tonight. I know cheat days are fine and believe me I've had plenty. 25420

I'm sure others will weigh in, but in my early LE days (lol) I ate burgers; but I have cut them the lAst month or so entirely bc I can't keep the fat and protein down. BUT if you can do it and stay in the limits then beef here and there can't possibly hurt.

In the UK we have mozzarella burgers and they are so nice. Even though I'm not on the diet anymore I still pick those over normal burgers.lol

I had to have breakfast today. I woke up with a Migraine. Most likely to do with the wine I drank last night lol but headaches and babies don't mix so I took two Advil and ate a bagel. Will probably have to eat more frequently today; but one day of deviating from the norm won't affect anything surely

Nah I'm sure it won't! If you need to eat, just eat! Hope you're feeling better?
I'm having a good day. Not feeling like I was starving without breakfast. Had a turkish bread with low fat mozzarella and tomato, really nice. Tonight I'm having a vegetarian springroll. But since that is very low in everything, I must think of something else to add to it. But I'm so full after one big roll! Thinking of adding some mayonaise and having some smirnoff ice tonight.

I aced the wine part of my sway again tonight :) lunch was cruskits cucumber and phily light and tofu stir fry for dinner. My sweet husband has offered to make LE meals now as well, after I had a whinge about failing on the diet. Going to start doing the diet everyday now, not just every other day, first attempt is in July so not long now!!
Dana-Alicia
May 27th, 2015, 07:33 AM
Sounds good Brightsky! And july is cose, FX for a sticky pink bean!
I just read I can't have alcohol with cetrizine. Don't know why, but since I need cetrizine for my heyfever and don't need alcohol, I'll not drink anymore. Today I've been so tired. Went to bed way too late after I filled in my personal plan questionaire. I was just so excited I couldn't sleep lol. And once I drifted off to sleep, both boys came to sleep in our bed. And of course I was squashed in the middle, hot and not able to move :sigh:

Oh wanted to continue but got distracted. Diet's been going good! Get's easier every day I think. Does your stomach shrink on LE? A week ago I felt like fainting in the morning as I had to eat something. Now I'm like: eeww it's after 12, I need to eat something now. But don't really feel like anything! Had some left over turkish bread, once again with some low fat mozzarella and tomato. Lovely to heat it up in the toaster! I also had some gingerbread with margarine, not sure if gingerbread is alright though? What do you girls think? Feeling crabby today for lack of sleep, but still need to get groceries are we are full out of bread and dinner for the others. Must drag myself to the store just now, meh.
Hitmebabyonemoretime
May 27th, 2015, 08:51 AM
I need to shop too Dana, im making my list while I chat.
I think gingerbread is fine, just consider the totals.
I agree the diet gets easier, it feels "normal" for me. Especially too bc I had to tighten our purse strings and meat is so expensive that I just don't buy it; I make pretty much all veggie meals except the odd day where I feed my kids and husband hotdogs lol
I was on Pinterest and got side tracked with decadent cake recipes (that was my weakness in the beginning of LE), and I got thinking of all the foods I missed and am eager to eat again lol but mostly just my cereal, PB and eggs. And cake of course lol

I find it easy to fast in the morning, but once I do eat something I'll start to think about food more and more. We are definitely saving $$$ on food to by cutting out meat, I am not a big meat eater anyway so happy to keep this up :) Dana-Alicia I have been up all night with a coughing sick little one and really starting to reconsider that July start date, pregnancy in the mix would be hard at the moment :sigh:

Ugh I know what you mean! Sometimes one has to wonder: why do we want another baby?! Lol! But the heart wants what the heart wants, so we go for it! How do you girls calculate your potassium intake? I have an account on fitness pal, but it doesn't measure my potassium intake. I had a lot of cheats today and I started so well. After dinner I was still hungry and my kids found all these yummy goodies I hid from them (and myself lol). Oh well, tomorrow I'll continue where I left off. I think my O is coming tomorrow, but have very little EM, a little bit EWCM but nothing major. Could it work this quick? or could it be the cetrizine? It makes me happy to be honest, as with my DD I never noticed any EWCM and with my boys I had loads!
Hope your boy gets well soon!
Dana-Alicia
May 27th, 2015, 05:22 PM
What do you girls eat or drink to get some empty calories? I'm either too high in fat but too low in calories or the other way around. Keep adding vegetebles, but at some point I can't eat more! I can't drink due to cetrizine (on prescription as I have heyfever).
BrightSky
May 27th, 2015, 05:41 PM
Just drinking diet sodas or light cranberry juice, not totally sure if that is right either?! Still new to this. I think a cheat here and there is warranted, otherwise u would go mad on this diet! I usually have heaps of EWCM and have noticed heaps less this cycle, although I have been sick with a cold (curtesy of the little one!) and taking sudeofed so I can breath, so that might have something to do with it too. Yes, either way I want 2 more, I'm not getting any younger so figure I start now. I would love to have a big close knit family, a girl in the mix would be perfect too :)
There is birthday cake at work today, eck!! I miss it soooooooooo much! I think I might break and have a small piece :)

I'm aiming for 1800 cals a day (breastfeeding and lower bmi already). I usually add soda (we call it pop...lol) like Pepsi (not diet), wine, or an apple. I almost always need to add some empty calories to a meal.

I'm struggling todaY too. I was at a play date where the hostess made a wonderful lunch so im over on fat - not bc. I ate a lot but bc it was a fresh greens salad and berries with a oil/vinegar dressing. Fat. Egg salad sandwiches (1/2) still fat (and protein) and Mac and cheese (more fat, and protien) and I forgot to bring my fibre so bummer.
Dinner was white rice dudes. It's all I could think of. Kids hotdogs and they smelled awesome lol

Yes going out is difficult! Especially birthdayparties and dinners are tough. But we can cheat, just don't go overboard. I really didn't feel like exercising today, but went anyway. Decided on a long walk through the country. I was so cranky when I left the house (kids were very demanding today and my DH was home late from work and continued working from home when I wanted to spend time together) but once I was outside and saw all the pretty daisies and poppies growing by the side of the road and even saw a bunny hopping by, I felt much better. Just wore the wrong shoes though, as I got blisters now. Note to self: don't wear all stars when going for an hour+ walk! Just now took a long hot lavender bath. Tomorrow I want to be stricted on LE, no more pizza for awhile!

To track potassium on MFP just go to Foods-->Settings-->Nutrients tracked :)
Hitmebabyonemoretime
May 29th, 2015, 09:41 PM
Potassium is usually inaccurate on MFP (it's usually higher than listed) bc many foods don't bother to list it on its Nutritional value list. And as far as what you need, it's depends on how much salt and magnesium in your diet too. The average Joe doesn't consume the recommended potassium levels. It's in A LOT of stuff, just be on the look of for signs of deficiency - especially if doing lots of cardio - irregular heart beat, muscle spasms, fluid retention blood sugar and blood pressure spikes.

I agree! I noticed in tracking my potassium that there are days when it says I've only had a few hundred milligrams and I know that can't be right. There are some foods that have K levels listed so tracking it does help a little.
Also, leg cramps can mean low K levels!

Thanks for the tip on mfp, I changed it to potassium. Never knew there was potassium in white bread lol! I just had a birthdayparty with a bbq mmm! All vegetarian though, good girl I am! (not that difficult as I have been a veggie for over ten years now!) I didn't exercise yesterday and today :( yesterday I fell asleep when taking my kids to bed. Woke up in the middle of the night, drewling on my sons pillow rofl. And then slept till 10! 14 hours of sleep, I must be going crazy! I struggled with the cardio today too girls! it was the longest hour on the treadmill..... I kept peeking at the screen (I have it covered so I can be surprised when it all of a sudden finishes the hour), well I mostly was peeking at the distance, I kept the time to go covered... and I was willing it to finish!! Haha!
I have a banana bread cooking in the oven at the moment - I can't believe how many calories etc it has in it for something that is 'healthy'. But it is yummo toasted with some butter :)

Lol Immi, I also keep looking at the clock when I'm on the hometrainer. That's why I prefer walking. I know where to go and how long that will be and it's quite relaxing not having to do or think of anything else. When I cycle on the hometrainer I usually watch tv and it's just not the same as walking outside. Mmm bananabread, yummy!

I read about the grade A foods. So you don't need to count calories, protein or fat from low nutritient and low carb vegetables like cauliflower, cucumber, mushrooms, peppers etc? Yesterday and today I tracked absolutely everything I ate but actually I don't need to with these vegetables?

BrightSky, how long are you going to be on a strict diet before ttc? I'm going to be about 12 weeks. I was starting to feel very nervous about LE but now that I have been tracking everything for couple of days it doesn't feel so overwhelming. Of course I'm not doing it perfectly yet but hopefully I will get there in July.

I'm aiming for at least 8 weeks on the strict diet, which really means I should be on it now  I am doing pretty well I think, it's still the dinners at my mums and with friends that gets me! I have a feeling we might not get prefers straight away with all the swaying, which is fine as I am not in any real rush and we give me longer on the diet.
I also thought the tracking would be harder then it is, it really isn't bad and gives me an idea of what Im actually eating. Also trying to stick to carbs and low protein.

You're doing great ladies! P promise it becomes a no brainer - and yes sesame seeds are allowed - it's at your discretion what you eat but keep it in the limits!
Family dinners can be really hard, but even then I find im just able to cut my portion size and stay in the limits :) this is my TTC month and I've been on the diet for 10 weeks. Around 5-6 out became second nature and felt "normal". Idk what they means for my sway, but I know I have it my all!

I hope so hitmebaby! Went out with some friends tonight and had a MASSIVE blowout on heaps of wine, pizza and brownies.. It was awesome! Feeling slightly sick now and like I have undone some of my hard work :-/ of well, it's a public holiday weekend here this weekend so hopefully I can stay on track now that it's 'out of my system'. I'll tell my husband to go out so I can relax at home with Netflix ;)

BrightSky, is your first attempt going to be in August? I also thought tracking would be difficult but it really isn't. I understand it feels awful after you have eaten everything you shouldn't but I'm sure you'll be soon on track!
Hitmebaby, how exciting this is your ttc month! Good luck! Must be so exciting to finally ttc when you have done a great job with LE and everything.
I have been on some kind of LE 4 days now. Actually have been quit good. I have skipped breakfast two days now even though I first thought I would start skipping it next month. I wanted to try it and I'm suprised how easy it was. I usually eat breakfast almost as soon as I wake up, if I don't I feel nauseous. But yesterday and today I was ok! I'm happy because I thought it was going to be so hard. I have stayed in limits, protein has gone a little bit over and fat little bit under but that's easy to fix. Today I ate 3 slices of toast with butter and a side salad. For dinner I had a big bowl of pasta with cooked vegetables and butter and little bit of cream cheese for flavor. And to add calories I had sweets. Right now I'm aiming for 1800kcals a day and see how it goes. I have already lost little bit of weight. I don't want to lose too fast cause I will start strict le in July and first attempt in October. But maybe I will reduce calories in July.
BrightSky
June 4th, 2015, 11:35 PM
Thanks 2xblue! The skipping breakfast part is the easiest for me, I was never much of a breakfast person!
I was tossing up between July or August for my first attempt, getting so close, I'm starting to freak out that I'm not ready for another babe!!

It makes it so much easier if you aren't a breakfast person! Yes July and August are so close. I've been thinking what if our first attempt would be in September because I have started LE now pretty well. The plan was to ttc in October but it's so tempting to start ttc earlier but I'm not sure yet. Original plan was to start LE in August and first attempt in November lol.

My macros today: carbs 74%, fat 17% (33g) and protein 9% (39g). Protein is little bit under and fat too. Tomorrow trying to fix those. Right now trying to eat 1800kcals and next month will be reducing.

I was feeling really strange today. Little dizzy and feeling weak. And it felt like I was going to have a bad headache (I never have a headache). I guess it is because of the LE, maybe my body is trying to adjust to a new diet? Have you ladies felt like this when you started LE?

You won't undo it. If we think about why the maternal condition is a theory - women we're of lesser condition but that didn't mean that they didn't have days where they are more than others or weeks that food was more plentiful. It's that overall their nutrition was the same and the same kids of foods I believe.

I decided that I'm not going to be so strict this month because original plan was to start it in July. I've done LE for 11 weeks now, but I have a cheat day once a week with shrimp in it, and go over my calorie limit for sure sometimes. Here's to hoping my efforts have paid off. I'll have done LE for 14-15 weeks at BD time. While on supplements I finally ovulated on day 24, so timing is kinda crazy.

I think I'm going to start posting my daily food on here too so I can keep an eye on it. I often have cheats and need to be much stricter. So today-
Breakfast- one coffee
Lunch- cappuccino and super noodles
1 hour cardio
Dinner- diet coke, half a plate full of salad, small portion of lamb moussaka (as a treat as usually cut out red meat), a few chips and a chocolate eclair cream cake.
Bit of a cheat day today as I had the house to myself tonight. I'm always thinking of lame excuses for cheats and then feel really guilty at the end of the day. Must do better tomorrow! Find it hard to think of vege meals as I'm a real carnivore

Dinner at my mums tonight, always a meat heavy meal, I actually prefer vegetation meals (really will just eat whatever's going) so going to try hard to stick to the side dishes. They give me such a hard time about going vego, I can't tell them the real reason for it though :p

Hi girls!
Most days I'm quite good with the diet, the last few days not so, so I'm thinking if I start posting some meal ideas I'could possibly be stricter? :p
I have a shaker that I make up my own salad sauce (lowfat) so when i cook food for the kids that doesnt fit the diet i make myself a plate of salad (eisberg lettuce, a few cherry tomatos, peeled cucumber, low fat mozzarella/feta cheese) leftover rice or pasta in the salad is also very yummi!
zucchini/eggplant/peppers/aspargus add some potatoes and sprinke some feta and cook in the oven is also a nice sidedish with guests or at a bbq
I have more ideas if wanted i can add.. :) but also would love to hear what you make for yourself while also cooking for the family that isnt to time consuming ;)

Well I think you did great. I'm sad that I haven't been up to cardio.... I really hope it doesn't effect my sway. I know it isn't one thing but I know how great the results have been with it.
My diet today is blown again. I probBly only write in here as a confessional lately lol so it might seem like I'm cheating a lot but it's really only 1x/wk, with the odd higher fat item mixed in.
I had a "boy breakfast" I don't usually have breakfast (almost never since swaying), I had egg and low fat cheese on English muffin and a full fat strawberry rhubarb scones.
Lunch will be a big offender too. Lower fat potato salad, and more scones lol (were picnicking this aft). I haven't been logging since AF came, but she's gone now and I need to check back in to swaying mode.

I've been eating mostly the same everyday for 3 weeks now. I skip breakfast, 3 toasts with butter/margarine and sometimes cucumber and cherry tomatoes or a pear/apple for lunch, pasta/white rice with cooked vegetables (mushrooms, red pepper and zucchini) and some butter/cream cheese. In the evening I have been eating sweets to add cals. I will start officially LE diet in next month so I think I have to do little changes. I want to add alcohol to my sway so can't have that much sweets to be in limits. Was thinking maybe one glass of white wine. So I've been eating pretty much the same daily, so far I haven't got bored but maybe have to have some other options if I want to eat something different.

Bright it sounds like you are doing great with your diet and exercise. You have to have a little cake at times or life would not be worth living!
I've started using my fitness pal again from yesterday so it's easier to keep track of things now. So today-
Breakfast 8am- coffee and a pan au chocolate and small full fat Greek yogurt( as had a long fast from 1pm - 8am and needed calories/fat for work)
Lunch 3pm- salad with lettuce, pepper, onion and olives, 3 rashes of bacon and half a bag of brown rice. Greek yogurt.
Dinner 7pm- 3 minute ready noodles.
1 hour cardio
My bmi is now 20.7 from 24.5 pre le diet! Also feel clothes are much looser.
Bright does it worry you that you may loose too much weight? My lowest adult weight was 8 stone 10 when I was 22 and its now 9 stone 2 and I'm 29 now! Not been this slim for a long time!

I think exercise is ok short term as I think it's to do with lowering your blood glucose but may be wrong. Is it something to do with female embryos like less glucose which is why you need to carry on in the 2ww?? I'm stepping up to it now as nearing ovulation. My motivation drops during the 2ww though. I got an exercise bike which helps as I can do it after ds's gone to bed. If u find the answer to your question please let me know :) did you say you were planning to ttc in July? The weather here in uk is pretty grim too, despite being summer!

Hi ladies! I'm starting a full force diet now of the LE Diet!
I was 156 in February and I'm now 124!! My goal weight is 120 but now I would like to get down to 115 with the LE diet. I'm pretty skinny already just need more toning. I'm 5"6.
Atomic told me stop lifting 6 weeks before ttc.
I think I'm gonna start ttc in October so I'm just gonna start the diet now.
I usually won't eat after 7:30pm then I won't eat until maybe 12pm, I just have to have my morning coffee.
I would just cook for my family and I don't eat much meat. If I do it's only for dinner.
Like today I had baked chicken with mushrooms and rice.
I can not go veggie, but I can limit my meat intake. And some days do veggie.

Bobster I might ask atomic about the exercise! I am a little concerned about losing too much weight as I am already naturally petite (although do put on weight easily if I don't watch it) I don't really want to lose anymore. I was my lowest weight of 49 kg when I conceived my son, looking back too skinny, but makes me a little nervous about the diet and swaying, although we did multiple attempts (I wasn't swaying and didn't have gender preference) I was eating a lot more 'healthy' foods back then too, lean protein and vegs, now it's more carb based so maybe that will help too!

My plan today

Tea- vegetable fajitas (2 small pieces of chicken) and 1 small Greek yogurt

Pinkin sorry I just read that back, hope i didn't say it in the wrong way. What I meant was that I feel like I'm eating way more than your day today! But same calories so maybe not. Your levels of calories look good, not sure about the others though as I always forget what they recommended. I just tend to look for low protein, low fat, low calorie foods.
Bright I can see why you are worried about weight loss but maybe last time your body was more healthy with all the protein etc and you may have been doing other boy things.
What worried me that swaying will never be 100% and I hate the thought of doing all this and letting it consume my mind and then it not working. But that's the chance we take I guess. And I guess if we did everything we can then maybe it will make it easier if we get a little boy.
What cd is everyone on today? I'm cd 14 and time is goong slowly until cd 20. I'm going to aim to dtd tomorrow evening and then cd 19 as doing every 4 days. Fingers crossed for all of us!

Atomic would probably say to get more fat. 20 g is a little on the low side (30-60 is optimum). That being said I have days that I'm that low. Today I actually would be but.i know I'm headed out to an open house so I'll probably not be able to resist the refreshments lol

Thanks girls. No bobster your fine i didnt take it the wrong way.
I find i am sticking to eating the same things daily as i am finding it hard to keep protein down so if i am eating 1200 calories im happy with that. I have a cheat meal every sunday night having that meal gets me through the week!! I have nearly been on the diet for 8 weeks now. I tried on my nice pants i brought while i was in the USA and they look like i am wearing a tent!! They are huge!!

Go pinkin! I always think the boy diet would be so much easier, but the weight lose hasn't been a bad by product! I'm also concentrating on staying around the 1200 cals, with no red meat, minimal chicken and fish.
Yep bobster, definitely eating more empty cals this time and I was doing things that swayed boy, that I didn't know at the time, just trying for baby! Multiple attempts, vitamins etc

Hi ladies, I am jumping back into this post. Had a bit of a diet blip but am back and focused and ready! Yesterday I had 1404 calories, 44g fat (would have been lower but I just HAD to have some chocolate while I am on my period lol) and 35g protein. Hoping to have our first attempt in 12-14 weeks depending on my irregular cycles so this week is the latest I can leave it to get on board properly!! I have worked out that going vegetarian won't fly for me. I am severely lacking in dinner ideas. What do you guys do for your "big" meal every day? I find it so hard to cook for DH and the boys and then tuck into something not half as appetizing as their food lol.

Pinkin I'm eating similar things everyday too. I think that cheat day is a good idea to keep you sane! Well done on the weight loss too! Do people comment on Your weight loss? People are on mine and it makes me a bit self conscious
Hi hopper, when are you planning on Ttc? I find it hard too when ds is eating bolognase as red meat was a staple before. My main dinner things are vege options like vegi pizza, curry or noodles with veg. I'm having a lot more dishes with king prawns since this diet too so I don't feel like I'm missing out as much. If we get a takeaway I'll order something with king prawns and rice instead of chicken and chips!

Just seeing this thread. I'm not very good at the diet but I'll share anyways:
10 AM - Coffee with sweetened creamer. 1 pop-tart. 1 slice cinnamon toast.
12 PM - Peanut butter and jelly sandwich on white bread. Yoplait light yogurt. 10 animal crackers
6 PM - Pasta with 4 prawns, mushrooms, green onion, and tomato, with a light creamy sauce. Steamed corn. Mini ice cream sandwich (I have to have it!). Glass of white wine mixed with 100% pure cranberry juice (not juice cocktail).
I often eat 2 hard-boiled eggs for breakfast instead of the above. Or pancakes if DH makes them on the weekend. For lunch I might have pasta with butter and parmesan but always a yogurt with lunch. And dinner is usually just whatever I make for DH, DS, and me but we've been avoiding red meat for the most part. Always a glass of wine mixed with cranberry juice after dinner.
I don't know what's going to make me happier once we finally conceive - getting that BFP or being done with this awful diet!!!! :)

Okay so yesterday was my first day of the diet.
1st Meal @ 12: 1 Low Fat Yogurt (Papaya flavour) & 1 Green Apple
2nd Meal 3pm : 1 low sodium Bagel, Extra Light Philadelphia Cheese, Cucumber, 10 cherry tomatoes & 35 Jelly Beans
3rd Meal 7pm : Asparagus & Pasta with butter , 1 bag of Baby Carrott cornsticks, Italian Soda (Made with Perrier Water, Cherry Syrup & 2 TBSP Whipping Cream)
The Italian Soda idea was from Atomic, and I have to say it's the best thing ever.
I don't really drink wine so this is a nice treat instead.

Is anyone tracking sodium? I had a LE practice month this month and didn't track sodium. Now as I started strict diet today I started to worry about it. Already asked Atomic about it and she said many don't bother to limit it as it makes diet harder. I'm probably not going to limit sodium that much but still intrested what everyone else is doing.

I'm not worrying about sodium either. There is already too much to try to limit with this diet.
I failed horribly at the diet this weekend. I went to my niece's birthday party on Saturday and had pizza, way too many doritos, and birthday cake. Also had pizza for dinner last night and leftovers for lunch today. At least I took off the pepperoni and I have still been avoiding breakfast and snacks.

Hi ladies, thanks for the dinner tips :) That info really helps! My stats yesterday were:
Calories 1365
Fat 36g
Protein 50g
I had a Starbucks skinny vanilla latte this morning with sweet n low. Lunch at 1pm after a 16 hour fast was two slices of white bread toasted with a little low fat butter and reduced sugar jam. I had a coffee with sweetener, 4 marshmallows and two mini chocolate and custard brioches yum yum!! Dinner was at 6.30pm and I had a chargrilled veg pasta bake, a slice of garlic bread and a green salad with some balsamic vinegar dressing on it. I had a teeny nibble of chicken off my DS plate lol, it smelled so yummy but lacked the tastiness of my pasta so I left it at a nibble!! I had a Greek yoghurt and a snack pack of peanut M&Ms as a treat. Happy with my daily totals. Had almost the same day before yesterday and even though I decided to purposely cheat at the weekend I didn't exceed my calorie limit and just hit the upper end of the fat and protein limits even with my takeaway lol. All in all having a good time back on the diet after an 11 day "slip", fingers crossed it continues!!! So not counting that slip I have been on LE since May 1st, contemplating bringing sway forward by a month though the thought scares me a little as my diet has been so precarious (to say the least lol)
In other news my mother approached me today to ask if we were planning to ttc any time soon. When I confirmed her suspicions she pleaded with me to gain some weight first as on my previous two pregnancies I lost between 20-30 lbs each time with terrible Hyperemesis Gravidarum and she says she would be worried about my health if I were to get pg and lose weight at my current weight (125lbs at 5ft 6in) I am already taking iron supplements at my doctors orders for iron deficient anaemia, that is a massive caveat on my behalf. I can't gain weight after working so hard to get here from 140lbs. But at the same time I can see her point! Sorry for rambling, just really got me thinking this evening!!

Did you end your pregnancies 20/30lbs less ? Or does the Hyperemesis Gravidarum stop at any point during the pregnancies?

Oh how I WISH that would happen for me!! I have heard that same thing happen to several women I know who were not ill when they were pg with the opposite of what they already had at home!! The HG stops around 20 weeks but at that stage after losing so much weight I am gaunt and lethargic for weeks afterwards. I have ended both pregnancies at 140lbs which was my starting weight so I did gain back the weight I lost in the first 20 weeks over the course of the last 20 weeks, though it is hard to manage it healthily when my body was just craving sugar sugar sugar!!
Right, so today I had 1363 calories, 36g Protein and 55g Fat. I went over on fat, I like to go no higher than 50g and no lower than 30g but I'm not dwelling on it ;) I had a Toffee Nut Grande latte from Starbucks, my friend called with it this morning when the kids were gone to preschool. It wasn't til after I had drank it I realised she got a regular one instead of skinny!!! Around 200cals in the difference and at least twice the fat! Oops!!

The diet thing seems like a hard thing for anyone to stick to aswell as throwing in exercise but im now starting to see the significance of how it may assist gender sway. LE diet combined with exercise seems to me it would make the body, as a whole more acidotic..obviously not at dangerous levels but overall ph may sway more to the acidic side rather than alkine. It would be interesting to do a study on this and.test ph every other day and see.the results. This could well and truly support the theory of diet and exercise for girl sway.

Delighted with myself today! Started my hard core cardio and I. Feel. GREAT!! I never feel this good after regular walking but I borrowed my mom's exercise bike and did 50mins of moderate sweat inducing cycling before my YDS woke up with teething pains. I will definitely be sore tomorrow but gonna keep it up at least 4 if not 5 nights a week. Wish I could manage the 6 nights but it's unlikely I will with my eldest DS who won't GO to sleep and my youngest DS who won't STAY asleep lmao!!
Stats today are:
1352 calories minus 214 burned from cardio = 1138 total
26g fat
31g protein (I ran out of my evening protein treat yoghurt so this is lower than I would ideally like but I guess one really low day doesn't hurt every now and again.
I had my coffee this morn with sweetener. Lunch was the usual toast with Philadelphia and jam, coffee with sweetener and 2 mini brioche (so imaginative lol) and seeing as DH and the boys got fed in my friends house following a play date I just carb loaded with oven fries and white boiled rice covered in a packaged mild curry sauce. I ate some jelly sweets to increase cals after my unhealthy dinner! Not the healthiest of days but within the limits so it will do.

Fat 43g
Protein 30g
Protein on the low side as the fat free yoghurt filled with protein was gone when I went to the fridge to get it! DS1 had scoffed it!!
Should I be eating slightly more calories now that I am including cardio in my sway girls?
DH thinks I should have eaten more yesterday, it was a once off day with the food anyway but just so I know. I feel great after exercising, well mentally anyway. Physically my thighs are a bit sore but I am presuming that's muscles cramping from the low protein in my diet. I have bad back pain around this time in my cycle (about a week before O) so trying to soldier on regardless, hoping the back pain is not LE related. I really need to keep my protein between 40-50g, I just find it hard to do that and not go over on fat. Have a heat pack on my lower back this morning, it's very tight anyway so must look into ways to loosen it up!!
Nothing yet to eat or drink this morning, DS2 slept all night so only awake about an hour now!! Score! Rarely happens. I feel well rested but can't help thinking the broken sleep I usually get is great for my sway hahaha!! Can't win!

I have to look into this angel cake!! Knowing my luck it's not in Australia! Sounds so good though, I miss baked treats so much!! I know the diet is working as I lost another kilo, had a bbq today and really pigged out, but only had one main meal, so hopefully not all bad :D
Hopper, I think including cardio should allow for slightly more calories, u will probably find your body craving it anyway. I did a spin class this morning and just had to eat something afterwards, even though I usually manage until 11am most days. Your youngest looks about the same age as mine :) I get so much broken sleep when he is sick, which seems so often at the moment, I'll try and look on the bright side as being good for my sway too :)

So we partied last night and I had a cheat. Not a little cheat - like a full on eat all I want, meat sampling, dessert binging cheat day. And 3 mojitos. Lol
Im seriously ok with it. I'm really ready to be done with this diet. I need my boy lifestyle back.

Right so today I had a good day! Stats are:
Calories 1520 minus 360 cardio = 1160 total cals
Fat 56g
Protein 34g
Fat was a bit higher than I would like but I am busting my butt doing cardio so felt I deserved a treat lol. Had my usual lunch at around 1pm after a 16 hour fast - 2x toast with SF jam and cream cheese, 2x mini brioche and a coffee. Had Benefiber too in my coffee. Forgot to take it with my dinner, doh! Had a coffee with 3 biscuits in my SILs house around 5.30pm and then dinner around 9pm was white rice with curry sauce and some of my friends French fries. Did 24km on my bike which took the full 60 and sweated a bucket. I feel great after it :)
In other news DH has started to say he's not sure he's ready to start trying in August, or even September! I was very upset by this revelation earlier as we spoke earlier this week and he was all for moving the sway forward. I have no clue what changed. It's annoyed me cause I am here after changing my whole world in anticipation of swaying and hoping for a longed for DD and he's telling me I might be wasting my time!!! He says he doesn't know if he can pick up the pieces if we get an opposite, I think that's just a cop out! He would be content to leave it at two sons, as he is fond of saying - he has HIS boys after all!!!! Sorry for the rant lol, I was fit to burst earlier I swear!!!

Thanks hitme and bright! I'm still in limbo here today, well not exactly limbo. He seems more amenable today but I have no idea what happened yesterday to make him question ttc. We just need to have a big talk, or so it would seem. In the meantime I am sticking with the program ;) Have been pretty much cheat free since going back on the diet on the 22nd June and exercise is making me feel great so its not as much of an inconvenience as it was when I first started. I am cutting myself some slack over fat content, I tend to run on the high side and was guilt tripping myself about it. The 10g or so daily over the limits isn't worth stressing over, I've finally realised that. I'm sticking with watching protein and staying under my calories and the 60 minutes cardio along with Fibre should outweigh the extra fat ;) LOL its SO hard to not be all Martha about this!!!!
Same today as yesterday so far except I've had an extra coffee at a mother and toddler coffee morning. Its dinner I get stumped on. Thinking I might do a turkey BLT with homemade veg soup for my dinner. Its appealing and mightn't be too heavy on the calories!!

Sounds like you're on track. I hope you TTC as planned - the diet can make you lose s lot of weight so if you are bumping it back to a later date Mayne consider some mods to the diet.
Idk what im having either. I've been having some meat here and there again to help my sanity but I think tonight will be Mac and cheese or something easy. Toast and jam or low fat marg for lunch

I think thats why I would be most annoyed hitme, if we were to push ttc back when I am having such a good run of it with the diet! I would be so disappointed! I dunno if I could get back to this level if I eased up any more.
Oh yeah!!! I have been having meat here and there too. I realise now that was the reason I wasn't able to stay on track with the diet in the first place. Now at least I know the only thing that is banned is red meat - and I'm ok with that!
hopper
July 6th, 2015, 05:38 PM
Lol after saying red meat was banned we went to my FILs for dinner and what did he have done only a big roast beef!!! I filled my plate with potatoes and veg but he slapped a big slice down after he had carved the roast telling me I need the "boost" it will give me!!! I managed to eat a little anyway, I could hardly tell him I'm swaying! He thinks two kids is more than enough for us!! Little does he know ;)
So today looks like this:
1396 calories less 356 cardio = 1040
41g fat
45g protein (though might be slightly higher in case I underestimated the beef!)
Had a coffee this morning, usual lunch of toast, brioche and more coffee. Had mashed potatoes with full fat butter (oops but yum!) broccoli, carrots, a small roast potato and about 1/4 cup of store bought gravy for dinner. I had a bag of Hula Hoops, a choc digestive biscuit and 2 mini packets of jelly sweets afterward. Just finished cardio and feel great. That's 5 days in a row - and that's heaps for me. DH often says I "wouldn't walk to warm myself" LMAO! So hopefully all these changes are swaying :)

Def in the losing weight zone so looks like we will be attempting next month, eck!! Hopper my hubby has the occasional freak out too, we want 3 as well and not getting any younger, I tell him the chances of actually getting preggers straight away are slim with all the swaying and that seems to calm him, and if it does happen we will deal with it fine!
hopper
July 7th, 2015, 08:48 AM
Oooh I love it bright!!! Is your cycle regular enough that you have an idea of when you will actually attempt? My DH is the same and trying to explain we might not be successful the first few months is like talking to the wall!!! He has said September after our Florida trip (we are back on Sept 8th and as long as my cycles remain kinda the same I'm due to O around the middle of Sept) is the earliest he will even consider trying now so I'll just focus on enjoying the trip and trying when we get back. I'm adding in more daily cals though cause with the exercise I can tell I will lose way too fast if I am doing this for at least another 2+ months. Hoping I don't cheat too much on holidays, it is so hard to eat out on the LE diet!!!!!
BrightSky

I know hopper, eating out has been my downfall!! That sounds like a good idea, sept is not too far away now! My hubby is convinced we will get pregnant first try as we did with our first, he is just starting to come around to the idea it might take a bit longer. He actually thinks we could get pregnant anytime we have sex, I have to explain to him that there is only one window a month, it's all very confusing to him.. I think he was asleep during biology! Cycles are pretty regular, I have been charting and the rest, so we might as well give it a crack!

July 7th, 2015, 05:46 PM
Lol I am looking up menus of places that I think I could get away with eating in ;) And there seems to be a couple places so fingers crossed. I am thinking once I stick to calorie limits and try not to get caught up in fat/protein, continue to skip breakfast and not eat red meat I should be ok. There's a lot of walking to do in the Disney parks so I will get my cardio in even if it's at a slow pace and I can try do some swimming to keep it going maybe. I don't want to clue my SIL into what I am doing, she's lovely and I genuinely like her but jeez she has a massive mouth! The whole world would know within minutes LOL!!
Men are so funny, I think they just didn't listen in Biology!! DH is adamant his "swimmers" will do what they are supposed to! Famous last words!!! Am getting more excited at the prospect of ttc whereas I was very nervous until recently! How are you feeling about starting next month Bright?

So I gave the cardio a night off and DH ran me a lavender essences bubble bath instead :) My stats look like this:
Calories 1504
Fat 43g
Protein 36g
Had a parent and toddler group this morning, they had cake but I held firm and just had a coffee! Then my usual lunch of toast, brioche and more coffee but also had a poached egg and grilled tomato as I found I haven't been eating enough cals lately to make up for the cardio. Visited my parents and had a baked potato, some baked ham and cabbage followed by a biscuit and a LOAD of fat free marshmallows to get more cals in without affecting my fat and protein. I miss the cardio though, can't wait to get back to it tomorrow. Made a new workout playlist and everything :)

Oh could you imagine!! I would love that but DH might just keel over with heart failure! Our eldest DS is an angelic little child, has always been so well behaved and kind and gentle but our second DS is just plain nuts lol. He destroys everything he can get his hands on, climbs everywhere, falls ALL the time, wants to be big like his brother and obviously doesn't understand when we don't treat them the same. He is ridiculously advanced for his age too though, has a vocabulary of a good 50 words, maybe more, and speaks in two or three word sentences. He uses phrases in context too. I asked him yesterday if he had a dirty nappy (he did!) and he shook his head and goes "No way. That him!" and points at DS1 - who took serious offense at the idea of being smelly lol.
So needless to say DH would be less than impressed with 2 buns in the oven - hes barely on board for just one more child - though before we were married he had always said he wanted 4 and even after DS1 he said he would have at least 3 but DS2 has changed everything lol. Hes so darn cute though, his smile is the most beautiful smile ever - chipped tooth and all (he broke it a few weeks ago running outside)
The brioche I have are like a small bun with a little custard and some chocolate chips or apple pieces. They are about 150 cals each, 4.5g fat and 4g protein each. I had sworn I would give them up but I make them fit into my limits so for now they are staying ;)
Your dinner sounds yum Bright!!! Are you trying to be completely veggie? I tried in May when I started but I felt constantly hungry. I don't eat much meat now but have a little whenever I fancy some. Red meat is a no-no though. My men folk are having spag bol today so need to come up with something for me! Just had my toast, brioche and coffee so feel way too stuffed to contemplate dinner ideas lol.
BrightSky
July 9th, 2015, 08:47 AM
Could always happen!! I've heard the second child is usually more advanced by having someone to learn off, he sounds like a smart one! Mine isn't walking or talking yet, still my little baby, I think I'll get even cluckier when he is :p I am the second child and was a total terror to my brother!
I am trying to cut out meat, but still having it if someone else has cooked and definitely staying away from steak and the like. What about fish? I haven't been eating it but could easily add it back in, do u know what the general view on this is??
hopper
July 9th, 2015, 04:19 PM
Yeah I can see that alright. A lot of second kids of friends of mine tend to rely on their older sibling to do the speaking for them so my fella was definitely a shock lol. But its very true that he picks things up off his big brother. And SO true about getting cluckier when they are walking and talking!! I have been unbelievably broody for the first 6 ish months after having both boys, then the sleep deprivation kicks in for the next 6 months so I'm not broody then. But after their 1st birthday with both of them the broodiness just hit me like a freight train!! I wanted to be pregnant, like yesterday lol.
As for fish hun, I think the lower nutrient ones like white fish (cod, pollock etc) are ok if you want to eat them and keep within limits. Fish like salmon which is chock-ful of good fats is a big no no. Shrimp is a great cheat, or so Atomic said.
I have SO went over on my fat intake today!! Visited my mother and she made loads of fat laden home comfort foods. I ate a limited amount but the fat content was still really high! Not getting too worked up about it though, I took my Fibre before my two meals so hopefully that soaked up some of the fat ;) About to get up and do my cardio now :D

Hey hitme, I am by NO means a chart pro but to me it looks promising! Hoping your temp stays up :)
You are not the only one who gave into temptation yesterday. I stayed within calories and protein (can't remember exact numbers) but had 68g of fat!!! Thats by far and away the worst I've been in the 3 weeks since being back on diet - but trying to console myself with the thought that even 68g of fat is WAY lower than I would have had before changing my diet so trying to look on the positive and not beat myself up!
Feeling SUPER emotional the past couple of days. Honestly have no idea whats wrong with me. I don't have the healthiest relationship with my mother, I mean I love her and I know underneath it all she loves me but its just complicated. Anyway, she rang late last night and told me she was worried about me, my weight (BMI is currently around 20.2, was 22.7 for the last decade or so) and about how much I want a daughter. She thinks I can't afford to lose any more weight with my history of HG on my boys as if I had it again I would have very little, if anything, to lose! I can see her point for sure. The concern is completely uncharacteristic and honestly I don't know what to make of it. It has me wondering all day today if I should "let go and let God" and let what will be, be! And then the Martha in me takes over and says I NEED to DO something to sway the odds. Oh its a double edged sword isn't it girls!!
ksmom
July 10th, 2015, 05:56 PM
I feel the same way at times Hopper. I have days where I think about how people conceive girls every single day without doing any sort of swaying or without doing a darn thing different so maybe I should stop the diet. Most days though I think I need to do something to sway because otherwise I feel like without it we have zero odds of having a girl. I know that more than likely we will have our third boy but I figure we might as well give this swaying business a shot.
Hitmebabyonemoretime

It really is a double edge sword... And I do think that swaying makes us more emotional
My temps are starting to drop - only 6dpo. Last cycle she came at 8dpo. I was REALLY hoping I'd have a longer Lp this cycle, but I feel like AF is on her way.
Food has been terrible bc we've been in and out of hospitals. My youngest is still having problems and I could care less about the diet right now. That being said he is better again today, so today I'll be more inclined to be on track.
We're baking hay today on the farm, it's very social - lots of family, lots of food. Im bringing my secret weapon of angel food cake, low fat whipped cream and blue berries. My mil is doing a pot of chili. That's the main. Im bringing bread to go with that; do I'll be eating mostly bread and cake, with whatever salad might be around too.

Sometimes I think I should just let go and let nature take it's course, I see soooooo many ppl get their girls without trying. My husband has such a strong male line and I know they say that it doesn't influence gender, but I can't help but feeling there is something in that, whether it be naturally high sperm count or whatever. Sounds like your mum is looking out for u hopper. I'm starting to get comments about my weight lose and don't feel like I want to lose anymore. I have really dropped the diet the last few days and given in to some yum comfort foods, lasagne last night (it was amazing!) off to the gym for some cardio, hoping to counteract a party I'm going to today with heaps of yummy food. How are we all doing ladies? Just after my cardio and a shower and am BEAT so hopping into my bed. Had a hectic weekend of it with cake baking for my friends DDs 5th birthday. I made her a pink and white princess castle cake with lots of pink and sparkle. It was such a novelty baking for a girl, I loved every second. Also had my mum's birthday yesterday so baked and frosted a really yummy cake for her that was eaten today! It was calling to me from my fridge!!
So yesterday went like this:
1277 cals less cardio 250 (only had time to do 45 mins!) = 1027
Fat 53g
Protein 37g
That darn cake did me in on fat content!
I had my morning coffee but my breakfast consisted of chocolate biscuit cake at the 5 YOs birthday party. I knew we had a meal out for my mum's birthday so another coffee sustained me through the afternoon and for dinner I had a vegetarian egg noodle stir fry and I robbed maybe 10 French fries from my dad's plate lol. I also had a delicious glass of Sauvignon Blanc, seriously it tasted like MORE lol!
Today was my mum's actual birthday so we did the cake in her house for dinner so once again am high on fat.
Calories 1755 less cardio 403 = 1352
Fat 62g
Protein 55g
I had my morning coffee. Brunch around midday was 3x toast with light cream cheese and jam, 1x mini brioche and another coffee. I had a bit of a cheating snack with DS2 today, which was half a bag of potato chips and EIGHT salted caramel covered chocolate biscuit fingers. They are just WAY too yummy! Between me and the boys we demolished the entire box!!!
Dinner was steamed potatoes with butter (I had full fat as my mum doesn't stock the low fat stuff) cabbage and 2x mini chicken vol au vents. Afterward I had a verrrrrrry small slice of cake and a couple of DS1s potato chips. I ate and ate all day today, or so it feels but I gave the cardio my all this evening to try atone for the excess lol.
How did you all get on at the weekend? :)

My diet has been yoyo. It's still hovering around 120 though - I haven't gained any, although I did dip down to 117 for like a minute lol
I haven't been religiously tracking on MPF. Im sneaking a little more protien, but I know when I was tracking -80% of the time I was really low on protein so im sure it's a wash.
And being the TWW im slightly famished. I tracked some bad days juts to see and the worse was like 60g of fat and 2000 cals... But I don't think I've had many over 1700.
