TTC DC # 6
I am continuing a pg diet while nursing my DD - starting to tailor it to boy diet but still keeping in dairy. I've started up a few breastfeeding-safe supplements: Prenatal, Folic Acid, Fish Oil, B-complex, plus extra B6 and B12. Doing the B's to help keep postpartum depression at bay since I struggled w/ prenatal depression/GD. Also doing Vit. D and Iodine supps a couple of times a week. DH is about to start a very primal/paleo diet to try and lose weight but I will keep up a moderate carb intake. Going to start some strength training when my midwife gives the go-ahead! Hopefully will shed extra baby lbs and build some muscle by the time my cycles resume - will chart & add more supps at that point

♥ Umm, had NO idea there was such good research re: running = girls! I was running 40+ per week prior to my girl pg's, so cut that out and do weights and resistance, with a bit of light cardio. Diet approach is pretty much what Atomic rec's with lots of food and variety of nutrients. Trying to limit sweets and soda which is what I used to live on. Supps I do fish oil, folic, zinc and ACV daily. AF to O will do either BSD or ASG.
♥ Tropicgal
♥ Swaying now ( well kind of....we started in Nov which resulted in a bfp straight away but unfortunately ended in a mmc and then after waiting one cycle we had a chemical) so onto April!!
♥ Approach is increasing meals and snacks (nuts, dried fruit and chips), inceasing salt and meat, drinking green tea, lemon water, v8 juice, orange juice daily, increasing weight training, taking pregnancy supps and extra folic acid, will take robitussan and ural before O.

♥ TTC BOY, we have a 2 year old scrumptios girl already
♥ Basically everything possible....all the supplements, eating the boy foods diet, upping sodium and potassium, cutting out as much dairy, magnesium, and calcium as possible. No cardio, weight lifting. We're also doing one of the high tech at home methods---MSU. Our attempts are going well...seeing lots of sperm and almost all XY after sorting. I'm older---35, so it may not be helping to limit sperm availability overall

♥ Your approach to blue sway: Basically doing exactly the opposite of the way I am now! My main focus is to up my overall calories as I'm underweight anyway. High everything! I'm drinking lemon water, fruit juices, and green tea. I'm cutting out soda (so hard!) but will keep a cup of coffee here and there. I'm going to take prenatals, folic acid, and fish oil. I'll take B6 as well to help with a semi short LP. DH is taking a men's multi, zinc, fish oil. I'll be lifting weights twice a week and hopefully I can get DH to the gym too. We'll use preseed w/ instead cup after and I'll probably do BSF the week of O. All subject to change as I keep reading.

Hmm..looking over my info, my first try was in July, not May (stupid YI!) and I have dropped L'arg because it lengthened my cycles and I'm impatient. Also haven't been doing the Kashi because of the soy. Ugh, I've got to get the rest back in gear, I slacked off in the 2ww!

TTC5 when you get a chance you can update my info to say I'm knocked up and due 1st week of March, :fingers: for Feb though! Yay for getting into the gym, it will do wonders for you emotionally and physically and BOTH of those can only help with the sway!
Can we obsess over any symptoms yet Lola? And Jane?
Welcome B3B!
AFM I had a horrid dream last night that my scan told me gender (it was a boy, but I was livid because I'm committed to waiting and want the surprise now) AND told me the baby had downs  DD1 was considered high-risk for downs based on those silly blood tests (we had a scan that showed she was NOT, after all, so I didn't spend my entire pg worried) and so I think part of the dream is related to that experience. I am so looking forward to my NT scan and hoping all is going to look a-ok.

So sorry Layla and Alexis. May is a great month to have a baby (that is my birth month too).
We went out for our Anniversary, just me and DH. It was so nice. We didn't do anything out of the ordinary, just took a long drive around the area we would like to move and had dinner and lunch together. It was nice spend one-on-one time together. Most of the time when we go out I spend half the time taking children to the bathroom. Oh, and I bought a FRER....first time to use one, so I hope I get a BFP!!!
I will be 11dpo tomorrow, do you think that is too early?

Hugs to gals in the 2ww :hugs:
Begonia- Thank you for the welcome. Yikes, bad dreams stay away! Your baby will be perfect. I'm very much considering letting this baby be a surprise too. DH says no way. All we need to buy is a carseat & clothes (and not even clothes if it's a girl). I'm worried I'll have major disappointment though and would want to get past that before she's born. Sigh..better just focus on getting preggers first I guess!
TTC5- Hope you enjoy the gym! I'm going tomorrow night for the first time in a while. They have a total body class that does weights which I hope is perfect. I'm always so uncomfortable in gyms!
AFM: After DH's supps have been on the counter for 3 days unopened and we discussed it at length last night. I popped open those suckers and put them on his plate with breakfast :giggle: Get it in gear buddy! I ordered ph strips too so I'm hoping they get here in time for O. That'll probably be this weekendish.

See this is what I thought with DD2, that I'd be better off knowing ... but for me it was just sad. I was just sad about it, though really I was like, 97% OK with it once she was born and I saw her precious face. And today I'd say I'm 1000% OK with it because I absolutely adore who she is, and having 2 of a kind is super fun. Which is why I think if I wait I'll be better off. But I think everyone is different and I do think for some people it can be better to know during the pg so you can get excited about DD3. I think once you're pg you'll have a really good idea of what the right answer is for you!
I had to give DH his vitamins. He never would take them on his own, LOL. And now that we're pg I'm not as strict about making sure he has them, but I try to because his were all for different things ... he never was in on the sway. It just worked conveniently for me that he was told by his doc to take Zinc, a b-complex, fish oil and vitamin D
WP, 11 DPO is for sure a good time to take the FRER! I took mine at 10 DPO in the afternoon but had held it for 4 hours. Not to say you should take it today ... just sayin' ... you could  Happy belated anniversary! How many years? And if you move would you still have your farm? Surely yes. I can't imagine one just drops that type of life.
Cemas lovely to have you drop in! Weights will definitely help you feel less sloppy. I've still been doing them now bc I actually grew to like it, weirdly! When is your next attempt coming up? I would so love to see you get a BFP.

August 1st, 2011, 03:38 PM
WashingtonPromise- Heck no that's not too early! I'm a poas addict though and while it's "early" for the masses, I think it's worth a shot at 11dpo.
Begonia- I felt the exact same way. I was pretty sad for weeks. But now I just absolutely adore have two girls. I very much wanted a boy and my DH said right as we were getting in the car after the ultrasound "well 2 girls and that's it for us!". That's when I lost it. He knew I wanted more than two kids so to say that, at that moment, just really hurt even worse. Of course he's on board now for a third but now I'm right back to that place again. I think we'll be done at 3, even though I've always wanted 4, so I'm not sure what I'll feel. LOL what a coincidence about the supps!
begonia
August 1st, 2011, 03:44 PM
Oh b3blue that is HARD! Timing is everything and your poor DH really delivered that blow at the wrong moment, to an already hormonal woman! My DH was rather adamant about 2 kids only as well. It cracks me up because we were at our anniversary dinner in April, just before DD2 turned 1 (she turned 2 this may, so this was a year ago) and he was like, NO. NO MORE KIDS. And I really wanted one ... I honestly think even if I already had GB I would have wanted a third. Anyhow, July that year he just changed his mind, thank goodness!! We will for sure be done at 3 but I can totally see the appeal of 4. My childhood BFF was one of 4 (GGGB!) and her house was the most fun
Anyhow my DH has also always wanted surprises ... he never wanted to find out with either of the 1st two. So once he agreed to a 3rd I told him we could have a surprise. Although the funny thing is he's the one who is super curious this time, and I'm the one who is happy to wait!

Hay hay ladies.....
Alexis and Layla, I am sorry you got the dreadful bfns....keep your chins up ladies, that's all I can say. Sometimes it takes a few tries, but you will get there! Just consider each additional month another month to sway and make your body boy-friendly so when you do conceive, you will feel very confident in your attempt and chances at blue.
WP, YES TEST TOMORROW! I always test at 10dpo and get a + if I am pg. On FRERs only, that is. Glad you had a nice anniversary!
TTC5, thanks for making the thread again! I am listed as a bfp swayer, which prob never changed from last time, but hey, let's leave it up there in hopes that in 7 days, that will be true. :pregnant: But if not, ah why even think that way, yea? I am glad you joined the gym, that is great! I bet you will feel a million times better taking a break, I really did. Will you try to modify to a "healthy" boy diet? I think that is what I am going to do (well, kinda have been for the last few months) where not so much fat but just healthy. Like Kris, I am going to have to KEEP IT LOW in the eating and weight department if I get pg....but you will do great!
Begonia, you know that is just a dream, and I know they are realistic and freaky.....sorry you had that. I always have terrible dreams when pg. Once, when I had just had my DD1, I had a dream that I found her in the oven like a turkey, it was horrifying and I cried for days about it. I still remember that! Anyway, you know your bean is going to be just fine!
Heather (forgot your screen name!), welcome over!
Spicy, SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!
As for me: I had the mysterious yellow creamy CM today that I get when pg.....so I got all sorts of excited. My right fallopian tube has something going on in there for sure for the last two days, and I've got the early cramps. And my nips feel like they are on fire! Trying to keep calm and carry on......I will be testing on Monday the 8th, though. Clomid, don't fail me now!!!!

Bout the not knowing/knowing, I was like you girls with #2. I think I wanted it to be a boy so badly because my ex/then-DH wanted a boy so bad. He comes from a long line of misogynists. Information that would have been helpful BEFORE we got married, but I digress. I will really, really, really want to find out, but I do also agree with not finding out. It has its merits, for sure, although it just takes willpower and a love of yellow and green. LOL
If we are pg now, we will move about 6 weeks after the baby is born to a new house so it may be easy for me to just not get all into a room and stuff or clothes until he/she comes. I have had a couple of friends not find out, and it is so cute when they get to tell everyone!
And, bear with me.....I may be griping about the unfairness of the universe next week when my ex's wife finds out the gender of their baby......

I noticed creamy CM real close to testing and got a BFP so GL. I thought from the 1st page that I missed your announcement of a BFP. GL, and I can't wait to hear your update.

Sorry I was MIA and then went to a homeschool conference this weekend and had a great time and a new direction.
Lola, I didn't read through all the July thread posts I missed but I saw where you asked me how my tummy feels funny. I was thinking about it and I was thinking like "weak" is how I would describe how I feel. I can feel all of my emotions and especially stress and such right in my stomach. I'm thinking now that not only am I hyper aware of how I'm feeling since we were ttc so specifically, plus the extra stress of not feeling totally confident in my pregnancy, and having a baby only 7 months ago might be the problem. I've never had kids this close before and maybe I just can feel more of the goings on down there?
Other than that, the light bleeding has subsided. Not too nauseous but trying to eat at regular times and energy isn't awful, it depends on the day. I would rather be more nauseous and tired though so my pregnancy would feel more "boy" like. :)

Hi everyone,
i've just joined up this wonderful forum. I am an old IG member and i've got 4 girls and i love them to bit but i want to complete the family with at least one boy. I've already tried IVF PGD which cost thousands and have also tried natural methods with no luck.
I was hoping that this EGS MSU method might work, but i can't find any info and the info i did find said that its 50/50 and not worth it.
Girls i'm at tethers end and don't know how much more i can cope with this :nails:
PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME..I BEG YOU!

I will test in tha AM and let you guys know.....
iluv: what type of HS conference did you got to? I am so glad your bleeding is slowing.
ttcboy: I am so sorry, but I don't have any info for you. Looks like something has to work though.
Begonia: Yes, we will still farm. We are looking for more acres.
I feel the same way about finding out the gender. I was a little disappointed last time (we were not swaying, just praying). If I had not found out at 20wks everything would have been fine at birth. I love the whole surprie at birth and we are not telling names either. I know the kids are going to bug us to death though. DD1 told me today that she has been secretly praying for twin boys, so funny because they have NO idea we are TTCing. Never a dull moment here.....I could write a book....if I had time.
Goodnight......see you guys in the morning.

:hugs: to you, Layla and Alexis. I hate how the body plays tricks in the 2WW and leads us to believe that maybe ... just maybe ... and then no :hair: FX for you next month Alexis and for you next attempt, Layla ... sounds like that will be October?
Yes TTC update me too please :)

O-K girls I am way behind! Update me on what going on... some ((Hugs)) for you with BFN's, and grats for you with BFP's (sounds like Spicy?!)... and FX for those in the 2WW... let me know what's going on with everyone!
TTC5 I just posted a new thread about workouts - will be interested to hear how things go at the gym!
Lola you know I have FX for you!
AAM - now I'll catch up and do better personals (or at least lag in every few days lol!) but for now I'm super excited! First, DH and I just paid off our mortgage on our house! So we are going to look for something a little bigger to fit five kiddos (hopefully six in a couple of years!) I am so incredibly excited! DH bought this house before we married , so this my first time house shopping.
Also, I've lost three pounds this week, whooo! Hoping to get the baby weight off before my cycles resume so I'm happy. My midwife has given me the OK to slowly start getting back into my workout routine in 2 weeks so maybe the rest will come off more quickly and it will all be gone before cycles resume...

Also - I posted a menu plan for one week on my blog if you gals want to check it out:
http://blog.getting-pregnant.com/weekly-fitness-report-our-menu/
I would add in some nuts and a little more carbs (maybe some V8 and lemon water, too) to this menu for actively TTC blue, but I think it's a pretty boy-friendly menu :)
Would be happy to share any of the recipes!

Warning: VERY SAD
Girls, I'm sorry, I have to get this off my chest. Today I started back to work and I was feeling so depressed. There are several new members on my teaching team and they are all just so young and cute and skinny and I felt like such an old cow. Then there's one woman who's pregnant and of course, she's younger than me and she's due in September and I swear, I weigh more than she does eight months pregnant. And she's having a boy, of course, and she has a little girl 18 months old and didn't do a thing differently to get one of each. I just felt so stupid and depressed and hopeless about things.
And then I got this call from my grandmother. My brother and I grew up near this little boy I'll call D. His parents are the nicest people. They went to our church and they tried for years to have a baby and never could. They finally adopted D as a baby right around the time my brother was born. They're only a few months apart. They played baseball together. I remember watching them all the time. Our dads played softball together. His mom helped give my wedding shower.
D hasn't done too well in the past few years. He's 26, dropped out of college, has had drug problems. Recently he got in trouble for shooting at a house and his parents paid thousands of dollars to help him get out of the trouble. They really tried hard to raise him well and give him a good life.
I found out today that D is in jail because he was supposed to be taking care of his girlfriend's little girl, between one and two years old, and he beat her to death. I am just horrified. Just absolutely sick about this. Obviously I feel so terrible for that poor little girl and what she must have gone through and I can't stop thinking about how she was just a little younger than Lillie and what kind of person could do that to her. I can't believe the little red headed boy who used to play on the church playground and the Little League field did that. And I just feel awful for his parents, who have just washed their hands of him at this point. The police told him this was a death penalty case and he confessed everything. That poor baby had broken limbs, a broken pelvis, a head injury. I just can't imagine.
It's just sickening. That poor, poor little girl. And I thought, you know, I am thankful for any baby I can have, boy or girl or whoever, because that baby will be mine and my husband's and I will love him or her with everything I've got because there are some people out there who don't. That baby's mama knew that D had hurt that baby before and still left her with him so in my mind, she is at fault too. And I just thought, I need to be grateful for any son or daughter of mine and do everything I can to be a good mama because there is so much evil in the world. I don't know if that is an odd reaction or not but that's how I felt.
I'm sorry for being such a downer, but I need to get that out. :(

I don't know if that is an odd reaction or not but that's how I felt.
I'm sorry for being such a downer, but I need to get that out. :(
Oh my gosh that is just awful no wonder you feel so down!!!! :(

What a great blog! I need all the help I can get with cooking. I absolutely hate dealing with food and really would be just as happy having a salad everyday with the occasional cheese pizza LOL. But I've got a DH that loves "man" food, who is Mexican, so has an entirely different palette than I do (I'm African American) and getting everyone fed and happy has been a struggle for me. Add to that a newly picky 3 year old who would like to live on PB&J and air, and it's just exhausting.
Thanks for adding me TTC5! Just a warning, I post a lot teehee.
I've only just started the diet a few days ago and I feel AMAZING! I guess I've just barely been surviving with what I eat while nursing and idk but having breakfast everyday has really jumpstarted my appetite. I can almost time it to 2 hours and I'm hungry again. I drank 2 liters of water today. The most I've ever drank in my life I imagine (except at air force field training where I had no other choice and even then, it might not have been that much, i got yelled at for not finishing enough canteens!). Granted it was lemon water and I had to add a packet stevia b/c I got carried away with the lemon haha. But tomorrow, no stevia! My milk supply is way up, I'm leaking like mad and I never believed people when they said drink more water for your milk. Apparently I just never drank enough extra to make a difference. Furthermore, I cheated already and got a Dr Pepper at the pool today, and here that sucker sits half full?!?! I drink soda like I should water and can easily finish a 20 oz in a few gulps. I actually don't even want to finish it, that is SO crazy for me! Gosh even if I don't get a son, I'm so happy I stumbled upon all of this as it's probably benefiting me in so many ways.

I have to move on to lighter topics after that. Heather, I'm glad to hear you're having some positive changes already! That is fantastic, especially about the milk production!
ttcboy welcome and glad you've joined us! Did I read correctly that IVF/PGD yielded a girl for you? I was under the impression that was the only thing 100%. No wonder you feel at the end of your rope love! Good gracious! So you have tried swaying (IG style? Shettles?) but not EGS/MSU? The only gal I "know" who did MSU is Aqua, she posts on IG as well, and she did two attempts the month she got pg with her son - 1 was O-2, and one was on O. One was regular ol' BD and the other was MSU, I can't recall which. But I'm relatively certain her sway is on here in the boy sway section if you want to check it out.
Lola hope you cope well with whatever news the ex gets. Regardless I think it's easy to rejoice that THANK GOODNESS you're no longer with him. FX that CM is what we hope it is!!!!
YAY for TTC5 losing weight!!!
I know I had more but I'm forgetting. XOXO to all you rockin' blue crew girls!

OMG so sad. Yes the mother is just as guilty for leaving the baby with someone who had abused her before....

:hugs: to you, Layla and Alexis. I hate how the body plays tricks in the 2WW and leads us to believe that maybe ... just maybe ... and then no :hair: FX for you next month Alexis and for you next attempt, Layla ... sounds like that will be October?
I am so looking forward to my NT scan and hoping all is going to look a-ok.:pray:i wish i could obsess over symptoms but so far at 7dpo i have absolutely nothing:sad: i did read somewhere that someones just got a bfp with no symptoms but i doubt its my time:tissue:

First thank you so much all for your warm words I really appreciate them. Will attempt next in October and yes I have changed my mind and am doing the FGD. I just feel really good about it and it is not that different to what I was doing before at all just no dairy and will eat dried peas instead of nuts. I bought myself some french earl gray tea with rose petals ohhh ce tre bien the smell, the taste. I pulled out a photo of DH and me in St Tropez on Cote de Azure. I was sooo tanned, everybody thought we were french even these aussies we saw first tried to speak to us in French lol. So I reminded myself how good I looked after the last time I went on french diet (it was a weight loss one at that time of course). Dh goes: ohhh you were hot back then (you mean as opposed to what I look like now :whip:).That made me feel better and now I definitely feel good with my decision. Almost excited about eating all the salt and the meat as I am living French right?
:welcome: to all the new ladies look forward to reading from and about you.
Begonia I read your dream first but saw that you are doing well about it now so no need for my pet talk. But I always got weird dreams during pregnancy too.

ttcboy that makes me feel better though; at 1st I thought IVF/PGD got you pregnant with a girl. So have you swayed before? This is the link to Aqua's sway that I mentioned. She did TBM not MSU. FX for you in this journey. When will you ttc again?

I'm in a funk today. DH said something last night about hoping it is a boy and I just felt really awful because my gut is this is our 3rd and final girl, and I just wish he (we) could have a son. I wouldn't trade my girls for the world (I know you all get this) but I have always wanted a boy, even more than DH has, and it just sucks to think this is my last shot. Once she is here I will be so much more OK with it, but I'm afraid pregnancy is going to be a long, moody road for me  I also full well know I'm a grab bag of hormones so in about an hour I might be all smiles again

Hey everyone,
In an effort to not have a million posts, I am going to try to make one big one!
Lisaanjrose- welcome!
Daisy- that is absolutely horrific. I think I heard about that story, to be honest. Something like that happened around here not too long ago, and I almost get nauseated thinking about it. The only thing that turns my stomach and makes me crazy, like start shaking, is when people abuse children. I am on the board of directors of an anti-child abuse org here and I have had to step back and just donate ballet tickets and raise money for them, because I can't deal with it. I am a bleeding heart anyway, and this stuff just makes it worse. I am so sorry, Daisy, that you and your family is having to sort of deal with that. And I totally kwym about feeling like cow......you guys know I have the skinny ballerinas around all the time....all I can do is take a deep breath and just tell myself that I am on a mission and part of it is to change my body and eating habits. And I know how frustrating it is to see people who get their dg and don't sway....it makes you feel crazy because you feel like what the hell are you even doing all this for? Maybe you could get your son without it? But ya know, maybe that girl who is pg with a boy would be on this site swayin' away if she had another girl, or 3 or 4 of them.....
Alexis, I say YES to royal jelly/bee pollen (I have always taken both, I think they are just super vitamins and would def take them for ttc boy), and YES to vit E.....have you tried the EPO yet? It's not too expensive, so you could try some out starting now and see how your cm turns up around O time, which I believe is in maybe 8-12 days for you? I take a ton of oils, I think the more the merrier since they are all good for you anyway....so I do EPO, fish oil, and flax oil. I know you had good ewcm on the fish oil, so maybe the epo will make it even better?
B3blue- glad you are feeling well on the diet! I know, eating more food- and good food- does make you feel better. Your metabolism is probably kicking up, too. And don't fret about a soda here and there.....the nice thing about the diet on this site, so to speak, is that it is high EVERYTHING....unlike IG, this "method" allows for a little sugar here and there, as long as you are eating some protein and carbs along with it so you don't have a big blood sugar crash, kwim?
Iluv, hey honey! Glad you had a great time @ the convention! And SUPER glad your bleeding stopped! I know you must have some reserve about this pregnancy since it hasn't been too long, but just try to relax and tell yourself there is nothing to worry about until you are told there is something to worry about! That is my absolute #1 pregnancy rule! Do you have another appt soon?
TTCboy- hi there, sorry you have had such crappy luck with IVF and all your boy attempts! Jeez, I think you are even above me on the difficult ttc road, hun! I don't think many of us are doing EGS on this site, but there is no reason you can't try. I do know there are some posts by Atomic about how EGS is not supposed to really give you an edge over natural swaying and natural attempts, but if I were you, I would post in the Gender Swaying Discussion forum a big QU about that and see who answers. Either way, we are here for you, and glady welcome you into our ttc boy family!
Jane- Lots of people have no symptoms.....just hang tight and we are all KFX for you, of course!!!!
Layla- You made me drool thinking about the islands. I need a tropical vacation SO badly. I think I am going to have to start saving up for a good one. DH and I still need to have a honeymoon.....maybe after (FX!) a baby comes, we will have to do it after I stop eating for 3 months and become normal Lola again, LOL. But girl, sounds like you have a great plan with the FGD, and I am excited to see your results, both on the body and in the womb!
And my dear Begonia- how I know exactly how you feel. When I was pg the last time, I was up one day, optimistic about a boy, and the next, depressed thinking it was another girl, and the next, happy and peaceful about another girl. It's your hormones, you know. It is just hard- I know there is not much you can do about it but try to find some peace and enjoy your pregnancy. Of course, you and DH hope it's a boy, but we all do. The best thing you can do is find your "happy place" for when you start to have those dreadful "another girl" feelings, which is what I will need to do.
And TTC5, go lady, GO! I am so happy for you that you've lost some weight already! You are going to feel like a lean, mean, boy-making machine pretty soon!
XOXO everyone!!!!!!

Yeah, EPO is what I started with at the beginning. I didn't get the ewcm until I added in the fish oil along with the EPO. I think maybe the soy messed up my cm. So I'm not gonna take that anymore at all.
So, you think the Roayl Jelly and Vitamin E would give me good ewcm? Should I take that in addition to the EPO and fish oil or pick between all the choices lol? Just trying to figure out my game plan for this next cycle. Thanks!

iluv: what type of HS conference did you got to?
It was a HS conference in Modesto w/ speakers and vendors galore. The bleeding has completely stopped now.

Don't you start that, B! :) You have a perfectly good chance of having a boy! It's for sure and reality that it could in fact be a girl but you did everything you could. Obviously, whatever it is will be a blessing but I really do understand and might very well be on here whining soon. I hope it's a boy for you soooo much! Pregnancy is a HUGE emotional roller coaster for me too, it's like my hormones have permission to just totally mess w/ me and jerk me around. Sad, happy, impatient, elated, crying, ready to punch anything that gets in my way....thank God I don't commute anymore. :) Can we say road rage. You might even change your mind and have more children after a year or two. Praying all of us get the boys we hoped for!!
I'm not making you feel bad about saying that though and don't get me wrong. You cry away and be as hormonal as you need to be!!!
I'm finding out the sex either way, I can't wait and want to have everything planned.

Lola, I need to write notes down and make a big post too but I forget.
I do have another Dr. Appt at 1:45 today but not sure if he's doing another in-office ultrasound. He might since it's 6 weeks now and we might see a heart beat? I showered and shaved real nice like JIK! :) I just can't forget to pee in the cup before I leave.
I'm feeling better now for sure but it's weird feeling every bit of stress right in my gut. A little scary but it comes w/ the territory. I feel better after that post from you and I really thought and tried to identify why I was feeling so off. Hopefully the Dr. appt goes well but today I'm noticing some of my hypo symptoms coming back so we'll keep an eye on it. I've been cold and dry under my eyes again. Will be taking another blood test in 2 weeks or so.

OMG I just came over from the private forum thinking maybe it's time to join back here now it's August and so...and to read this!!! I absolute hate ppl like this guy :nono:and yes I really hope he get's the death penalty! If we would not have ppl like him around our children would be safer. And that woman the so called "mother" is guilty as hell too! How could she left that poor little baby girl with him when she know he hurts her??? She should have reported him the first time it happened and should have left him to go protect the baby! But no she stay with him and left the baby with him??
Im sorry but Im so angry...DD4 will be 18 month soon and she is so sweet and I love her so so much I look at her and can't imagine some1 would hurt a baby like her ...broke her bones and who knows what. OMG now I cry. Im so sorry.
Im thinking I will be happy after all for a sweet little girl too!

Thank you thank you thank you Iluv and Lola  I was laughing Lola b/c that is EXACTLY how I feel ... at one point yesterday morning I was thinking I might be upset if I DON'T have another girl, LOL. Which is CRAZY because I do not think that would be the case at all! Hormones are funny things. Iluv you're so right; I KNOW I did everything I could, I wouldn't change a thing, so I have to take peace from that. And this bean is meant to be in our family boy or girl. Anyhow I totally dropped my ladies off at their activity and went to my most fave spendy baby boutique and drooled over the cuteness for boys and girls. I will be shopping like mad once the bean arrives that I know for sure, if it is a girl it'll make me feel better to have her dolled up, and if it is a boy I'll love getting all the things I have never had before. I love the little boy shoes!!!
Ttcboy Lola makes a great point! I would post a thread in the general Gender Swaying forum to get info from anyone here who has swayed with EGS for boy or girl. :hugs: to you; you've been through a lot already and I would love to see you get your son. Let us know what we can do to help!
Iluv I am so thrilled you have another appointment and FX you can see heartbeat today even though it is early! Oh how exciting, seeing the bean is just greatness! LOL about shaving all the, ahem, "right" places! I know I whip out my nair before my appointments  I am so glad your conference went well! Do you belong to a homeschooling group or do it all yourself?
Flava you SHOULD join us in August!!!! Come back come back! Your attempt is getting closer and I want to hear all about it.
Alexis I loved EPO for me and ITA with Lola the oils are so good for you anyway! I never heard anything negative about the RJ so would definitely try it out. Might as well; I think that is the upside of having another go at this ... you can only make your sway stronger!
Welcome Lisa!!!
Babydes where are you?!?! Hope all is well! And Jen! I want a post from you so I can see that ticker; I'm pretty sure you'll hit 13 weeks on Thursday? And have another appointment? FX you girls are both great!

I went to my appt and had another in-office ultrasound. The size of the sac is about 3 times larger than it was so that's great and you could see the yoke this time. I asked about the pole but he didn't mention. I asked if they would take my vitamin levels and he got my D Vit. levels and another HCG test. I have another Dr. appt next week. I like the weekly appt.'s but not sure when he'll stop doing that. I'm happy things look good. I take another thyroid test in 2 weeks or so.
At this time, my daughter is in need of speech therapy and I have to go through an independent charter school so they'll pay for it. It's way to expensive to do on our own. It has it's benefits at $900 per kid/per semester for classes, approved book and such. The downside is you are accountable to someone and have to follow their rules. I plan to do it independently when she is done w/ speech. Although I'm used to getting money for classes which I couldn't do on my own and DS is probably looking forward to taking some classes as well. I do belong to a homeschool group but it's more for a home-base of fellow homeschooler's, monthly activities, weekly park days for my kids getting to know other kids and support.
Home schooling can be difficult but I wouldn't have it any other way and feel very blessed to have the opportunity. Too bad it continues to keep us in the financial crapper and I'd really like to not rent my parent's upstairs anymore. It's not the best situation and I want my family to be completely together at my home again. Oh well, these are the choices we make. It's just sooo expensive here. Sad you have to make over 100K just to make it around here and we for sure don't make that much. :( Blah blah, I need to get back to work. Was supposed to leave for SoCal tonight but I have a lot to do to pack and get ready and I'm too tired. I can't even tell my sister's why since we aren't sharing the "news" yet.

Welcome b3blue, ttcboy and lisanjrose!
Layla, Alexis & WP sorry about the bfn's
Spicy- hoowoo! congrats on the bfp!
B- I hate preg dreams! W/dd1 I dreamt I gave birth to kittens  I basically had to beg dh for this baby, he was 100% happy with his 3 girls. He knows once it's here he'll be thrilled but making the decision was hard for him. I think your instincts for a girl are fear based. I honestly believe the only way you can trust your gut is if you are truly free from desire. I knew #1 was a girl at 8wks but we did not care, since then I've been positive it's a boy and well 2 and 3 are most certainly not lol
Iluv- hooray for stopped bleeding and your u/s today! I forget did you see the heartbeat?
Lola - So excited to be obsessing about symptoms with you again!! I may be joining you in the next month or so complaining about universal injustices when my bil and his useless gf find out the gender of their baby. I'm already preparing myself for them to have a boy and us a girl :(
Daisy - no words, absolutely no words :(
Alexis - I never tried epo but fish oil gave me crazy amounts of cm!
Jane - fwiw I had no symptoms before my bfp, in fact I had no symptoms till 6wks! I was positive af was coming, I tested at 12 dpo because my bff harassed me lol

Hey ladies!
Begonia, your kid rocks! Hope you are feeling better today. Damn those pg mood swings.
Alexis, B is right, the royal jelly and bee pollen are just chocked full of excellent nutrients, which sways blue big time. They are fertility boosters. And the Vit E helps with your uterine lining, and again, is just a good thing to take when swaying blue. I don't know if they affect your cm much, but they certainly add to your nutrient intake. Do you know about the rj/bp? I hate to reiterate if you do, but this is probably good info for the board in general:
Royal Jelly: This nutrient dense substance is a secretion that comes from glands in young worker bees, and is used to not only create a queen bee for procreation, but is also fed to honey bee larvae to provide them with optimal health and growth. Royal Jelly is rich in amino acids, lipids, sugars, vitamins, and most importantly, proteins. It contains high levels of vitamins D and E, and also has ample levels of iron and calcium. As all of these are essential to proper health and organ function, it is very easy to see how Royal Jelly can help with in assisting with fertility.
Bee Pollen: see this article, it's long- http://www.nutritional-supplement-truths.com/bee-pollen-benefits.html
I would say these two are some of the oldest boy swaying supps there are. Ladies who are doing IVF and dealing with infertility take them, so you can see why they are great for swaying blue.
ANYWAY....
Ttcboy, great new thread! I hope you get some ladies who answer. I know you don't want to hear about how it is not supposed to be any better, and I think if you want to try it, go for it....but just know that there aren't too many on this site who do that anymore. Not that we don't want you here, but just so you don't feel like no one is answering! Anyone who is, or has tried will certainly see your thread though, so good job on that.
ILuv, great news about your nice fat sac! LOL So glad all looks ok, and I agree with B, you are lucky to have weekly appts to keep your mind at ease. I am glad to hear that my don't worry mantra made you feel better. I am a worrier/obsesser/ general type A personality, so I HAVE to just take lots of deep breaths and repeat that to myself so I don't go insane. What are you going to SoCal for? Have a good trip!!!
Hopeful, I think it is a great idea to take August off and heal and chill. Another month for you to become a boy machine. I hope your wrist is healing up and you are feeling well, hun.

I opted for 2 big posts instead of one giant one
I'm 13 wks tomorrow and can't say I'm not completely freaking out. For you new ladies here's my abridged story.
I got a bfp in Aug last year, I was pretty sick but having a normal pregnancy. Had my 10 wk appt and all was well. I went to bed at 12wks 6 days feeling great, nausea had lifted over the last few days so I was pretty happy. I woke up very early the next morning with wet panties (I now know my water had broken). I went into the bathroom to check/change my panties, when I wiped there was blood, a lot of blood. As I sat I could hear it running into the toilette, not dripping, running. Within 90 minutes I had blacked out three times and was in the ER. My arrival bp was half of normal, just above coma. U/S determined my uterus was empty but some left over tissue was the problem, my body was desperately trying to flush it out. While hooked up to machines, an IV and laying flat on my back I blacked out again, dh though I was dying. I was rushed away for an emergency d&c with the warning if they couldn't stop the bleeding they would have to take my uterus, I was 32. I woke an hour later missing 1/4 of my total blood but gratefully in tact.
Tonight is the equivalent night that that happened. I know it's irrational thinking that it could happen again as I only had a 1-2% chance of it happening in the first place, but I can't help it. I've been having trouble sleeping for the last week. I'm a little scared to go to bed tonight so I'll be taking something to help me. I have an u/s tomorrow, I just hope my little friend is still ok and I can relax soon.

Oh, you gals know I will gladly obsess! LOL But I so not getting my hopes up yet. I do have the same bd pattern that got me pg both times before, took the Clomid, and DO feel things are afoot in the old uterus/fall tube region. My nips hurt, but I don't have the huge aching boob thing yet. I have some of the yellow CM, but since I take a progesterone suppository up the vag, I can't really tell. (Yes, I have to wear panty-liners all day, every day. It sucks.) Other than that and fighting with DH for no good reason.....really, I made him cry last night, I am such a b%$#h at times in the early weeks when my hormones are surging. So, those are my signs. I don't have the cold yet, which I have gotten before, but I am still taking all of my vitamins, minus the DHEA, so hopefully I won't get it.
3pnb, EXCELLENT point about the gut feeling. I had a gut feeling about #1 being a girl, but #2, I told everyone I had a gut feeling it was a boy, but I really wanted a boy....and my then DH referred to it as our boy, so I was biased. Now that I think about it, though, I never felt a true, settled gut feeling it was a boy. I think the important thing for us all to remember is that we should prepare our hearts and minds for either, just as if we never swayed. That is the only defense I have for GD.
3, when's your scan? Did you have it yet? Am I losing my mind and missed that?

So, I should take RJ and EPO together? If I do that I'm thinking not to get Vitamin E because my prenatal has some and the RJ does too. I think I'm going to use Mucinex instead of Robitussin this cycle. Do y'all think it's better than Robitussin?

3pnb: Wow, that was a huge experience and I am happy you got back on the TTC train and tried again....that takes a lot of guts. I hope you slepp well tonight. I can't wait to hear about you u/s.
Begonia: I was thinking about your weird dream last night while I couldn't sleep and had a weird one too.... I was pg and my belly was so big that I had to stay in bed on my side and all the dos were trying to decide how to deliver, because I was too big to move!!! So glad that was not real. Oh, and I always opt out of the downs blood test they do....my midwife said they get a lot of false positives.
Lola: GL with your 2ww. What dpo do you normally test on?
Well, I am still her with no AF....yet. I have had several pg symptoms that are normal for me, but I just don't want to get my hopes up. Symptoms: my sense of smell is working over time, I cried while the kids were watching "Prince of Egypt", I got a sharp pain down low when I got up too quickly(I normally get them later in pregnancy though), a huge bach ache (which could be from any # of farm chores) and cramps...which could be AF. I think I will test again Friday if no AF (I will be 14dpo).
I love coming here because you guys are the only ones that "get" this whole experience. DH says....just wait until after AF is due to test, then you know it will be positive AND we won't waste so much money. PLUS, last night he said...."Oh, I thought the test would be +....you look pregnant". How can I look pregnant!!! I wouldn't even be 4 wks yet!!! He defended himself with "well it's all water anyway". Yeah whatever.
Edited to say......sorry Alexis for AF. Are you going anything different this cycle (besides Mucinex)?

My doc did tell me there was a high incidence of false positives. I opted out of the test with DD2 and breathed a LOT easier. But my 1st pg I just didn't THINK much about any of that type of stuff, I just kinda went with it ... I really didn't want to be pg. Which is oddly part of the reason I think I wanted a 3rd; I felt sort of cheated out of enjoying my 1st pg since I was so upset about actually being pg. So I need to remind myself of that and stop fretting so much this time and just enjoy it for the amazing awesome blessing it is. FX AF stays away! And LOL about the DH comment... they really just don't think ... I'm sure he thought he was being encouraging
Lola, I'm loving the symptoms! Tone it down with the DH though, poor guy  To be honest I do the same thing to mine though :suprise: I'm way better at arguing, LOL!

Yes, you don't need vit e if you take the others....I just did to beef up my uterine lining as much as possible. You pee out the extra so no harm. Doesn't matter if you take the Robitussin or Mucinex, as long as you are taking the drug GUIFANESIN, 400mg of it. That is the ingredient in those two brand names that makes the mucous thin out. I got a Target brand Guifanesin even, like a generic Mucinex. And you can take it frequently from AF-O, or you can just take some an hour before dtd, and give some to DH also. Thins out the semen a bit so the sperm can swim easier.

WP, I am excited to hear your test results on Friday! Our poor DHs, you think they'd know better than to make comments like that about looking pg. I did get all in a tizzy about something stupid last night, but then DH says something stupid like "why don't you have hope that this will be a pregnancy and it will last?" and that's when my eyes turned to black orbs and I got crayzee. Um, hello? 2 m/c, maybe?
Anyway, Begonia, why were you upset to be pg the first time? I kinda was also, I was only 25, married a year, and was planning kids later on AFTER a career. And honestly, if I would have waited, I would have seen my ex-dh's true colors before the kids came along, but then they wouldn't be here. But I do hope you enjoy this pregnancy. I feel the same way, I was so annoyed with everything the last 2 times with an unsupportive ex-dh, so hoping this one can be fun, if there is one, that is. And maybe you are kinda more prone to be alarmed with hanging out with our crew....we've had a few very unfortunate things happen to a few of us....but don't let any of that worry you....and like I told ILuv, don't worry about anything until your doctor says to you, literally, YOU NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THIS. And you know what you should do? Take some cool maternity pics with the girls and professional photographer! Fun fun!!!

Lola our 1st was a BCP baby and we just weren't ready ... 26, only been married a year .. and just like you I was planning on having kids AFTER my career. DH and I were both just not excited at all. But of course we fell in love with her and wouldn't change a thing now; I always say it was the best lesson I have ever had in why as much as I try, it's a good thing I don't really control my life. So I keep reminding myself of that very thing with #3 ... I'm not in control, and that's OK. Now take 10 deeeeeep breaths and repeat
I totally am doing maternity pics! I never did before! But I just got pics today from a session the girls and I did in May, and I was thinking I totally need to get some this time. That will be super fun. I actually didn't even do any professional pics of DD1 her first year and it's a big regret, so I'll probably totally overdo it this time around

3pnb : You ar one strong lady to have gone threw all that, I hope you got some rest last night. Can't wait to hear about you appt today. I LOVE the photos!!! We talked about doing black and white with the next pg...it can get pricey though.
Begonia: We would really like to have another boy, but I feel the same as you (and most of the people on here) as long as the baby is healthy....we will be happy. I do love all the girly accessories that go with them.
I got up at 5am this morning and was heading to the bathroom when DH said " How was your temp today." I said, "It is still just 98.0". He just laughed and said, "If it gets much higher I would think your sick!!!" That is exactly why I normally DO NOT temp after I get my O....I just get too obsessed witht he temp going up. Anyway, no AF yet, so if she stays away until the AM I will be testing again.
For the pg ladies that are not finding out gender..... Are you going to bring a boy and girl outfit to the hospital? Or gender neutral?

3pnb, hope you have a great appt today! You are doing just fine, lady. I love your pics, they are adorable! You get a big moster belly like I do LOL. A couple of times, shop owners literally nervously mentioned that they hoped I didn't go into labor in their store. I kindly replied I hoped not either since I was only 7 months. I will try to scan mine from DD2 in, they were artsy and black and white, some of them with me nude! (But like you, the photog was a good girlfriend!). I never did any with #1, we were too poor back then. I hardly had any cute professional pics done of her except the cheesy Picture People/Sears ones, and I have ALL of these awesome artsy ones of DD2.....oh well. I think most people do the opposite and go overboard with pics of the first, then the next ones come along and you are too busy to think about taking pics!
Hiya Babydes, I am excited for your appt too! xxoo
Hopeful, you can take 400mg 3x a day, I think that is kinda the max anyway....I am at the opposite end of the spectrum with the guifanesin, I only took one about an hour before dtd, but I had ewcm this time before I even took it. Glad you are feeling better!
WP, if I end up first of all having a baby anytime, and secondly not finding out, I would probably just bring something neutral, even just whites. But, I doubt I will be able to not find out since my DH and the girls have already assured me they will want to know. I just can't go against the democracy. You know what could be cute, though, is if you bought two outfits and kept the tags on, then you could return the other one later on. Of course, that would be bittersweet for me if I had to return the boy outfit. Ugh, these emotions about all of this are just hard!
As for me, I am sitting at my desk with my pants unbuttoned and a longer blouse hanging over it. I actually LOOK pregnant already. I really need to graduate to bigger pants, which makes me want to barf a little. I used to be a size 4/6. Now I am bursting out of a 10. FX I can just go on and graduate to my maternity pants in a few weeks. How sad is that? What preggos here are already in maternity and when did you start wearing them?
I had a little temp dip this morning although I did have to wake 45 minutes earlier......6dpo. Getting restless. Having a sinking feeling that I am going to feel fairly depressed if this is a bfn, simply because I took so many healthy supps for the past 3 months on a break AND I took Clomid. But trying to remain positive. My boobs felt less sore this morning, which made me kinda sink. You all know what I mean. WHY am I obsessing about symptoms? Someone please slap me, because I know better than that!

lola - oh yeah I get a huge belly and I run late, terrifies people to look at me and hear I was due a few days ago lol here's me in 2007 40wks 2dys and 4 days before dd3 was born492
Ironically my bff does work at sears but you'd never know it from my pics, she's way to good for them lol
I moved into my maternity pants almost immediately, my reg pants were already a bit tight and once the nausea set in I couldn't handle them anymore.
As far as outfits go, recruit a good friend to return the unused one and spare yourself the hassle and emotions.

As far as outfits go, recruit a good friend to return the unused one and spare yourself the hassle and emotions.
Or you could take it to a local women's shelter or pregnancy center! That is my plan. I'd like to wash the outfits before taking them to the hospital anyway, and that way I pass it on to someone who will definitely appreciate it. Girl or boy outfit ... and if it's the girl outfit I end up giving away there will be a whole box full, LOL!
Jen! Girl you do get big, but only in the belly! I don't know why I carry so small ... we'll see if that remains the case with #3, but so far I'm not showing at all.
On the mat clothes, I'd like to make it to 16 weeks but that might be ambitious. I gave all my mat clothes to a friend who is due beginning of October so if I can make it til end of september that would be great! I'll see if I can find a pic of me preggers to post too!
AND yahooooooo for making it through last night! I am so excited to hear about today's appointments and maybe get to see a pic of that baby!
WP, I hope you get your boy too! Part of me does wonder if I will be more upset about not getting him because I swayed... or if I'll be Ok because I did all I could. Hopefully I just have a boy and don't have to figure that out :-) I'm going to take one of each outfits! Although kind of funny but DD2 was so big she didn't fit in the newborn outfit we brought, LOL, so we had to go buy something to bring her home in. We called her Clarapotamus for a long time because she was such a fat baby. And now of course the chubs are gone. Sigh. Anyhow FX for you tomorrow am!!!!
Lola, CHIN UP! Whether this month is it or next month or the month after, you are doing ALL YOU CAN and you will get pregnant. Symptom guessing is only fun to a point, when it starts to make you fret it sucks. 6 dpo today means you'll test Monday, right? I really hope this month is it for you; my hopes are high too. And ITA you go with the democracy! I bet your DH will be so thrilled either way that it will make it easier on you if it is another girl. OH! I saw on another thread you work in Columbia, SC! I worked there for a year! In 2002/2003. It's a great little town! I was working in the Bank of America building across from the University.
Ok gotta run but looking forward to hearing your appt update Jen!

Hey girls!
Don't remember who asked but I got my ural finally after like 20 days!
3pink you look so cute i don't think that's is so big! Plus is DC3.
I was small with 1 and 2 and even not so big with 3 but yeah big with DD4 I guess that's how it goes. Plus she was my biggest baby 8.1 and she came almost at 42 weeks .lol

Jen, you look great! I'm gonna have to find one of me @40wks with #1, I am bigger than you by far! In my profile pics it looks like a full size watermelon is lodged into my stomach and making its way out of my pants in the back. HORRIFYING. I have a feeling that it's not unusual to be in maternity clothes immediately with #3+.
Good point about washing the clothes.....see how long it's been since I've had a freakin' baby? LOL I think I'll be finding out either way, so probably won't have to do that, but donating or having a friend return is a good idea for sure.
So, B, you are not finding out for sure? I think I'll feel like I did all I could to sway, and my baby girl was just meant to be....I think it's really a great way to find some peace if you don't get a boy. What would kill me is if I dropped swaying from exasperation and had a girl. That would make me feel a bit guilty. I would even be ok with an oops baby because that one was meant to be also. I can't believe you are heading into 10 weeks though!

3pnb: No u/s yet? I guess I will have to come back on today :) Your 5'8"? I am 5'6"....what I wouldn't give for a couple more inches.
Begonia: I love your idea about donating to a shelter!!! I always wash my clothes before hand too, so this will work out for us....now I just have to get pg.
Lola: You know they have maternity shirts that say "watermelon smuggler" on them. How big are your babies? 8lb range?
I think I would like to avoid maternity clothes as long as possible. I would rather everyone think I was fat. I know, sounds crazy, but with 6 children, family and friends enjoy sharing their rude comments. Hubby and I just like to avoid that as long as possible and just enjoy the pregnancy.

WP, LOL at the shirt! I will definitely have to find one of those next time!!!! My babies were just 7.11 and 7.2, I just carry them completely outside of my pelvis and they just hang over like a sack of potatoes. Very low.....what was annoying about that was the sheer volume of old ladies and the like who would come up to me and say, "That must be a boy!"

On the shelter donation tip, we just had a very successful toy de-hoarding which worked beautifully. I told the girls about how there are lots of shelters and orphanages where sad little children are who have all sorts of problems, all that stuff. I am pretty realistic with them about the world....usually to teach them how priviledged and lucky they are to have what they do have, even if mom and dad are divorced, kwim? Anyway, I told them to think of how many toys they never play with anymore. Then I told them to think about how happy these poor little kids would be to have their new toys, and of course referenced good old Toy Story 3 (which makes me cry). I could barely get them to take a breath while sifting through....and many of them were toys they still liked, but they just wanted to give them to the shelter kids. It was really very sweet! Just thought I'd share in case anyone needs a good de-hoarding tactic, LOL!

August 4th, 2011, 04:09 PM
Oh that is sweet, Lola!
LOL about the watermelon smuggler! DD2 was 9lbs 2oz but she was more of a honeydew in there. I don't know where my babies go but they just don't go OUT very much. I'm 5'7 and have a long torso though so I think maybe they just streeeetch out in there.
That's part of the reason I want to avoid mat clothes too, WP ... as long as I can just look fat-ish I'll take it. I'm a pretty private person and my least favorite thing about pregnancy has always been that perfect strangers can see full well that I am going to have a child. It feels like they get to know something very important about me without actually knowing me, and I hate that.
Oh and Lola I am for sure not finding out! That said if I see something on the u/s after looking at all these nub shots, etc I wouldn't be surprised if I end up with a good guess. DD1 and DD2's NT scan photos don't show nubs, but I wonder if I had known what to look for then during the actual scan if I could have seen it? Anyhow, even if I get a hint I won't mention it to DH one way or another ... he's always wanted the surprise so I don't want to spoil it.

Jane- You're a strong woman! I hope AF stays away.
3pink- What a cute belly shot and u/s pic! Gosh I can't wait to be preggers again. :awe:
Maternity clothes- I avoid them too! I have a tilted uterus and I'm tall so I don't show for a really long time. It's just easier for me to get regular clothes in a larger size. A lot of the styles now are longer shirts with empire waists anyway.
I got my ph strips in the mail but barely have any CM to test :mad:I thought they were duds or something b/c what I did put there did nothing. But I tested DH's semen (is that weird? lol) and wowza it was clear as day at 9. So I'm guessing him doing the diet too is helping? Or he could just naturally be at that ph anyway.

YAYYYYYY 3pnb, what a cutie pie!!!! Oh, honey, I am so happy for you! Now we just gotta wait 7 more weeks for a hopefully more revealing pic...you are finding out, right?
WP, I am sorry hun. I know it sucks big time to get bfns. Did you use opks? You may have O'ed later. Are you nursing still? That can throw you off with your cycles also, as you probably know. I'd love to peek at your chart. To link it, you go to the toolbar menu on the top right where it says "share" and then you copy and paste the url link onto your siggy here. There is one that says for web pages, and one for boards, so try the boards one first. I think that is the one that works for me.
Heather, ITA with Begonia, that is a good ph and don't feel bad....I may be the only one who has never tested my DH's semen. I did test our "mixture" once, but it's kinda par for the course with blue swayers! Testing your cm is hard. Honestly, the best way to do it, and this is totally ewwwww, is to either wait till you poo, because the force usually makes some come out too, or you can put in instead cup up there and see if it collects any. That didn't work well for me, but I just did it the first way a few times. I never got too crazy about my cm ph, because I knew I'd be adding preseed or ew, and a bsf also, which would all raise it at the most important time. However, I did test my pee a lot to see if my general body ph was changing with the diet, which it did. Others might have some better cm testing advice, but the poop method was the only way I could get a "sample" that was enough to really test. Your vag walls are acidic, so you can't just stick it up there, you will get an inaccurate reading.
Kris, how are you feeling? Do you have a scan appt scheduled in the next couple of weeks?
As for me, I had a nice dip today (7dpo), so FX it's an implant dip. I can't believe I'm temping again, because it gets me kind of obsessive, but oh well, it's informative. I woke up in the middle of the night and was manhandling my boobs, because I was asleep on my stomach and they didn't hurt anymore, so I got all worried and upset and couldn't sleep for an hour because of it. But then I had a good temp, so hey, I feel better now. I think I am going to test on Sunday at 9dpo, I just cannot help myself. They say you will get a + 2 days after implantation, so we'll see.

Do you think I should continue to do situps when I do get a +?

Well, it does look like if that is your correct O day, you got some bd'ing in so that is good! I think it's ok to do situps if you are used to doing them....I don't think the 2ww is the time to start anything new though. I usually take it easy on the working out during the 2ww and just do gentle stuff like walk the dogs or yoga. Jen I'm excited you might find out; I was told at 16 weeks with DD2 so I bet you might even get to know at the next appointment! Will you have them write it down for you and go somewhere or will you have them just tell you? I remember a friend of mine had her gender u/s in November and they had the tech write it down, then they wrapped it up and opened it as a family (they already had a son) on Christmas day. That was pretty sweet. I really think if DH wasn't so into the surprise I probably would do something like that. I definitely wouldn't want to hear it just laying there on the table again, I have far too much emotion wrapped up in this and don't want to cry in front of a stranger, LOL.
I do think if we can get past our anatomy scan w/o finding out I'll be able to make it. I will say that I have abandoned my whole approach to just think of it as girl #3, because I've found that mentality is really making me upset. I can honestly say in the LONG RUN when I think about my whole life, I will be a-ok with having 3 daughters. But right now, I want to believe we will have a son because otherwise I'm just not enjoying my pg. So while it may disappoint me in the end I am very much hoping this is our boy. Thinking of it as a girl does me more bad than good, so I might as well go with the option that makes me happy for the next 6-7 months!
Oh Lola I SO hope you're pg!!!! Go ahead and test at 9dpo, no harm in trying! I skipped 9 and tested on 8 (lol) and 10, but I wonder if I could have seen it on 9. It was totally, totally negative at 8 though.
WP, you are definitely still in this game for this month, esp since it looks like you BD'd right on your O day! So yesterday you were only 10 dpo; will you test again or just wait for AF? How are the symptoms, still there? And FWIW I do still do sit-ups. ITA with Lola that you can continue exercise your body is used to doing already. I'm still doing weights and elliptical about 3x a week right now.

WP- I'm only unsure of your O because of your CM. Either way though you've got great timing and are definitely not out! Your temps are nice and high.
3pnb- I'm hoping to try in October. DH loves to teeter back and forth as to whether to TTC at all. One day he's fine, the next he wants to wait a year! Meanwhile he's happily taking supplements and chatting with me about swaying so I have no idea honestly. My dr told me to wait for 3 full cycles to pass before ttc again after my last loss. I did have a natural m/c, but being that I was 10wks, she said it really is best to let your homones and uterus settle down and your lining to renew itself a few times. After my 5wk m/c in January, we took Feb off and then ttc and got pg in March, but that was the 10wk loss. Who knows if my lining couldn't sustain.....I don't know, but I REALLY would wait at least 2 cycles, 3 if you can. xxoo

WP, with my girls, I barely got a visible line....like I had to get a 2nd opinion, at about 14dpo, with FRERs! But I got the last 2 at 10dpo....maybe since my body is older it implants sooner, who knows. But don't worry, if you scan FF charts like I do because I am a huge nerd, you will see that bfp day ranges very widely, with the majority of them around 12dpo. Of course, that may be due to many women waiting to test, but still. Just hang tight and test again!!!

B- it'll just be another peek at 16 wks, though I'd have them write it down if they offer to take a look. My BFF will be with me but I don't think she'll be able to contain her reaction either way and I fear I'd badger the crap out of her till she spilled it lol I'd rather wait till the big one at 20 wks, dh will be with me so we can find out together. I agree, I don't want to hear it on a table in front of a stranger again, they look at you like you are such an asshole if you're not completely excited with what they say.
AMS- so sorry Hun, big, big hug. After my d&c in Oct I was told to wait 2-3 months so taking a bit of time off to heal (physically and emotionally) is always a good thing. Lola is the queen of healthy egg info so wait for that pm.
B3blue- my Dh was terrified to ttc again, he was so happy with his 3 little girls, but I'll admit I harassed lol Willingly scarfing sups and talking about it is a good sign. I'm sure once Oct rolls around he'll be anxious to give it a go lol
Wp- tink was crazy late 30ish days if I remember right before she got her bfp w/dd1. I had a stone - bfn at 10dpo and a light + at 12 dpo, this time I didn't test till 12 dpo (with a frer) and it was light but definitely there. Don't give up yet, it's not over till the red bitch arrives lol
Tink- woohoo for baby dreams! Sorry about your friends mom it's so hard but yet such a blessing when it happens that fast. Fx for quick bfp.

Hi Lola, My scan isn't until the 19th. It's coming around fast but not fast enough! We're so excited about it :)
FX on your temp dip!!

Ams sorry for your loss. Well,I'm 11dpo,still no symptoms,I said to myself I would wait to see if af comes(4days)until I test but today I've got the biggest urge to test,I'm really trying not to get my hopes up cos it's a bigger letdown when you get the negative test,i find it's easier to not know at all! Am I the only one who thinks like this or should I just test and get it over?11dpo may still be too early yet though ....aaarrrggghhh!

Jane, that's a tough call. Lots of us can't wait that long....I know I can't! A large percentage will get a bfp by 11dpo. I would say test if you want to. If you do tomorrow at 12dpo, and use a FRER, I would say it's not too early. But, I hate seeing the stark white tests, so I understand the desire to wait.

Good for you Jane! I've promised myself that I won't test until I'm late next go round. I even shipped off almost all of my ICs to a sweet US mama in Argentina LOL. She said it was so hard for her to get tests where she was and I figured that would be perfect to get past my poas addiction. Thankfully my LP is only 10 days so I won't have to wait a full two weeks!

My posts are not showing up!!!
Edited to trya again.....
Jane: You are so right not test until AF is due. I normally wait a little longer, but everyone getting their 10-11dpo BFP made me anxious. If I have a cycle next month, I am with you....no tests in the house until after AF is due. When I was TTCing DS2 I would wait until 14dpo and go to the store to buy a test, after 2 mc I became a POAS addict and it was starting to get out of hand....that was the only solution.
Thanks everyone for the encouragment. It has been a wacky long cycle.

Yea, I can't wait till 14dpo. Like 3pnb said, it's torment either way, and I'd rather test than wait. But, I'm not going to test way early or anything, usually 10dpo is my earliest, but since I had a big dip and cramps yesterday, I am thinking of going for it tomorrow.
And HEY Tink! I hope you are doing well! Sounds like you have a few good times and are ready to rock & roll, love it!

Started green tea yesterday. How many cups do I need to be drinking per day?
I'm trying to relax this cycle. Trying not to put too much stress on myself or DH. I haven't been to the gym in over a month so I'm gonna get back on that lol. My doc said the stress could be contributing to my BFNs the last two cycles. He said to "have fun." lol Gonna try to take his advice! DH is getting very stressed out. Just thinking about how much the delivery is going to cost. On top of the $1,000 deductible we have to meet first, insurance only covers 80% of maternity care. So, that's at least $1,500 we will have to pay out (I'll be having a c-section) plus the deductible so, $2,500. :( It's really bugging him.

I have dropped around 2 kilo already, it is prob mostly fluid but good to see the numbers go down and not up lol!

I will bring the basics and then let dh go shopping lol

Alexis: Are you having any trouble sleeping while drinking green tea? I notice every day that I drank it with lunch, I could fall asleep that night.
No, no trouble sleeping at all though today is only the 2nd day drinking it. I have a high tolerance for caffeine though. It's what I use to live on lol. How many cups are you drinking each day?
I'm getting about 3,800mcg folic acid per day so I think I'm good there.
How much EPO are you all taking? Wondering if I should increase to 3,000 mg everyday instead of 2,000?

Wp- i'm caffeine sesative and got the decaf green tea, same benefits no problems.
Jane- I've found two completely different takes on folc acid -1- don't worry about too much. It doesn't build up in your system, you'll pee out the excess -2- don't take more then 1000mcg it can cause b-12 deficiency in rare cases. Sorry I know that doesn't help but the sway policy is if you're doing the drinks up it, if you're not as pH obsessed the standard 400 is fine.

Well, I inadvertantly picked up these FR Rapid Result tests instead of the Early Response.....the RR is much less sensitive- 100mui vs 25 on the early response, so I was pissed about that but took one anyone, of course stark white. I would have to have triplets to have that much hcg right now. So I'm going to get regular early response ones today and test tomorrow. DO NOT buy the Rapid Result unless you plan on testing the day AF is due or after!!!!! For us FRER fans, they are NOT the same. Why can't they make them get early AND rapid results? DAMN YOU FIRST RESPONSE.
Green tea: go for decaf, it's better for fertility anyway. Yes, you want to take a B complex with extra FA. I got one that was cheap at Target and is a Folic 800mg + B12. EPO: I think 1200mg is the max you want to take.
Alexis, I totally hear you about the cost of having a kid. It is crazy. I had this weird thought last night about how I would love it if I could just have my baby at home like EVERYONE used to do just a little over 100 years ago. With a midwife, but you would just pay her like a small fee to attend you. Heck, I was even thinking what if I asked my awesome doctor who I've seen for like 8 years who doesn't do OB anymore because of insurance costs to just come over and I'd pay her like $500 to just deliver me at my house as a "friend" and then we'd go to the doctor tomorrow. If I needed an ambulance, I'd get one. I'd just act like she was my friend with some experience, not like hold her liable or anything at all. But then I feel like everyone would think that's crazy. Maternity care is so expensive too, even with insurance. It is so ridiculous. My insurance decided not to cover my 2 u/s before and after my loss in May, so now I owe the doctor's office $500 for those. YAY. I will get off my soapbox now, I just get so frustrated with doctors and insurance and costs and all. What do people do when they have no money and get pg? I guess just go to the free clinic and then the ER when they go in labor. Anyway, I can understand your DH's worry about the costs, they are real and they are high. We always had to get a payment plan, which was fine. Alexis, do you have to have a section or would you consider a vbac? They are WAY cheaper.

August 7th, 2011, 08:50 PM
Kris-yep we have to pay unless you're on Medicaid which is our free healthcare for low income. I have a $1,000 deductible I have to meet before the insurance will comer their 80% of the hospital and OB bill. So that's $1,000 deductible plus about $1,500 for the hospital/OB bill!!! For DD2, we only paid out $200 total!! DH has a different job now than he did then though.
Lola-I've had 2 c-sections already so there's no going back now! lol And 3 is the limit so only 3 kids for me :( DD1 was breech and we elected a repeat for DD2 at doc's recommendation.
3Pink1Blue
August 7th, 2011, 09:20 PM
Alexis- Our first dd we paid a $15 copay ( awesome insurance), dd2 was just the 20%, but dd3 and this one is a $5000 deductible before they cover at 80/20 so when your dh whines tell him it could be way worse lol
Will your dr only do three? I know lots of people who've had 4 or more c-sections.
daisyfay311
August 7th, 2011, 09:32 PM
Aw Lola, that sucks about the tests, I hope you get a better result with a FRER.
TTC5, so nice to see you around. Hope your sister is okay.
Alexis, just curious, why three c-sections the limit? I had to have one with dd (pre-eclampsia) and wasn't really worried about having more--I know a lady who had five sections and her doctor did say that was the limit for her but I figured we can't afford five so it isn't an issue.
DH and I are both teachers and we probably paid $2000 or a little less for everything from the first appointment through the birth with dd. I figure with a section and an almost week long hospital stay because my bp was so high, that's not bad.
daisyfay311
August 7th, 2011, 09:36 PM
Oh wait, what is this about folic acid? Can you take too much? I have been taking about 2400 mg a day.
I'm on CD10 today. Dtd yesterday for the hell of it and then I think I'm going to probably wait until I see a burst of cm (usually three days before O) and then do either 0-3 and 0-1 or 0-2 and O if I can manage it. I will need to hit the morning of O if at all and that will have to be on a weekend. Hopefully it will hit next weekend, that's about the time of last month. We'll see. I've been doing bsd once a day, all my supplements including 2000 mg epo which makes tons of cm for me, starting Robitussin again tomorrow, been drinking coconut water, eating lots of beef with tomatoes and potato slices....salty pretzels, grilled salted chicken, Wheaties, lemon tea with Stevia at least once a day, V-8 fusion, raisins.....sigh. Hope it works!
Alexis2007
August 7th, 2011, 10:36 PM
Daisy-no you can't take too much folic acid. You pee out what you don't need.
3Pink-wow!!! Now that's a lot of money to have a baby!! OMG If DH had his full 3 years in at his job, they'd cover 90/10 after the deductible. Who knows the deductible may go down then too! He's only been there a year and kinda wants to wait on another baby but I don't lol.
I'm pretty sure my doc said 3 is the limit on the c-sections. It has a lot to do with scar tissue and stuff. I will definitely ask him again though just to be sure. I would like 4 babies but it would be a LONG time before I could convince DH of that!!!! LOL!! I think the only reason he agreed to 3 is because we have 2 girls. If we'd had a boy last time, I'm pretty sure we'd be done now!
Another issue with the insurance is DH wants me to get a tubal while in surgery. But I told him that's just more money we'll have to pay out then. I said why don't you just get snipped. It'd be way cheaper and less invasive/side effects. My sisters fiancé got it done and said it's not bad at all!! But I'm going to TRY to get on Medicaid this time but doubt we'll qualify. But if I do (and doc says no more babies), I'll end up getting my tubes tied for sure!
3Pink1Blue
August 7th, 2011, 10:49 PM
Alexis- yup it's a lot of money but to lower the deductible ups our monthly so high it basically evens out lol Funny thing is dh works for a company that handels Medicare and individual plans but the employee insurance still pretty much sucks. They only started offering it a few years back and it gets a little better every year so soon it'll rock lol
I'm kind of a crazy lady when it comes to having babies. I labor at home as long as possible, no epidural if I can possibly avoid it and check out as soon as they'll let me. W/dd3 I was out of there less then 12 hrs after birth and only in the hospital for about 18 hrs ttl so that really keeps it cheap. We've never actually paid 5k that's just what the deducible is.

Oh i see, that's not cheap! I could have my baby for free but that's in a public hospital which isn't something i want. I visited a friend after she had her baby, she was sharing with 3 other women and had to deal with all their dr's coming in and all their visitors and screaming kids running in and out. I've got private health insurance and will be having a c-section, so private room and better care i reckon.

Oh mama, with that history there's absolutely no reason you can't have a vbac....
and yes I agree that 3 sections is a good limit as it's so much more dangerous the second, third, fourth time around.
eta: I probably shouldn't get into birth talk since I'm really passionate about it. So anyone interested in vbac feel free to pm me and I'll share some links. :hugs:

I'm pretty sure my doc said 3 is the limit on the c-sections. It has a lot to do with scar tissue and stuff. I will definitely ask him again though just to be sure. I would like 4 babies Ethel Kennedy had 11 C-sections, so maybe your dr might consider 4th for you ( some day)?
Of course, if there is any chance for VBAC, maybe give it a chance :agree: Here on this forum is lady who had VBAC after 2 C-sections, she is TTC boy, I'll check her name, something like FamilyofFiveRoses :agree: Maybe she can share her experience with you. Mochagirl (TTC girl) also had VBAC after C-section with twins.

The medical costs just sounds so strange to me from the UK, we honestly don't realise how good we have it here. The mediacal insurance sounds so confusing??If anyone has a minute could you post a brief description of how it works please. If you had no insurance and your husband had just started a job, if there was a nasty accident or someone in the family became suddenly gravely ill, what would happen?? In the UK we just go to the hospital, receive all care and medicine for free, then fingers x'ed just go home!

Elp- if you have no insurance and don't qualify for govt assistance you don't go to the hospital/dr's unless you absolutely have to because you'll be footing the whole bill yourself. A lot of dr's/hospitals won't even treat someone who's uninsured.

I took a dollar tree test this morning....BFN.
I wish AF would just come. It feels like I am pg though, I wish the symtoms would just go away (or get a + on a test). I even woke up Sunday morning at 3am starving, after trying for an hour to tell myself I wasn't hungry, I got up and ate a Lara bar. I had a normal dinner the night before and a snack before bed. I just don't know about this crazy cycle. I am not even cramping or anything, my temp was still up this morning, and I have bad nausea. I have had the dollar tree tests work in the past... I just don't know what to think. My LP has always been 14 even when BF. Normally I just test and get a + or have AF on day 13-14.
Sorry to rant, this is just so weird for me. Today we started school, so not the best day to be having a mood swing.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ladies.

Hey ladies. I am SUPER SAD. BFN this morning, and I really don't feel pg at all. My boobs are not sore at all, and when I'm pg, they would be huge heat balloons already. I felt like this would be it with the Clomid. I am not sure what to do now, I guess try again. I don't know what the problem is. All of my testing checked out perfectly. SIGH.
And I had a vbac also, I am a huge proponent of them, it is a MUCH better birth experience, easier recovery, and way cheaper. Alexis, when you do get pg, let some of us ladies tell you our stories, you will see that the doctors and medical system aren't always right. There is no reason in the world why you couldn't try for a vbac third time around if you wanted to. You would not believe how much better the whole having a baby thing is when you don't have major abdominal surgery to deal with as well. Of course, no judgement at all, I just hate how the US medical system treats pregnancy and childbirth.
When I had DD1, I did whatever my doctors said. I ended up having a 33 hour back labor with a posterior baby, and then being put in an assembly line for a section. I was the 3rd of 4 lined up. I am surprised they didn't line us up in the hall in our beds. My doctors did NOTHING to help me labor better, to help her turn, nothing. When I had DD2, I went to the medical school library and checked out books and read on websites and talked to women who had vbacs, and I learned my rights as a patient and a pregnant women. Since I had moved to a new town between the two, I went to the "best" all-women practice here, and when the doctors told me I was endangering myself and my baby to try for a vbac, when they shook their heads at me like I was a stupid hippie or something, I told them to F OFF and went to a different practice where they had midwives who were laid back and also hired a private doula to help me throughout pregnancy and birth as well. She taught me methods to "spin" my baby if she was posterior again, just simply positioning of the body, and she taught me how to get through labor naturally. Anyway, I ended up having an amazing birth, although I labored for 14 hours and caved and got an epidural at the last minute because I was so tired and in so much pain. But it was HEAD AND SHOULDERS above a c-section in terms of birth experience, and I was up and walking in an hour, it was amazing. I highly recommend trying it out if you have any inkling of a desire to do so. Odds are very high (and NOT what the doctors tell you) that all will be just fine. Just remember that doctors A) make more money when they do sections, B) have easier schedules and don't have to run out in the middle of the night for labors, and C) have lower malpractice insurance premiums because they don't do vbacs. (Which is bogus because there are more bad things that happen from sections than vbacs.) MY DOCTOR who is awesome (as referenced in my other post about wanting her to come over as a friend and deliver me, which she would probably do) told me because she got so fed up with the whole OB/maternity bullcrap with practices and hospitals and insurance that she dropped it and unfortunately for me, just does GYNO only now. Anyway, that is my story!!!

I normally have AF come on 13dpo-evening or at least some spotting or cramping. Who knows? I have already been over on FF looking at pg charts that got a - at 14dpo....there's hundreds, so I guess we should both just wait it out. I just wish the symtoms would just go away, it would make it much easier to just go on with my day. I feel like my stomach is empty all the time. Just boiled some eggs to ease my cranky belly.

Yea, you are right about that, lots of women get them later. I just don't FEEL pg anymore, and I bet I'm out. I feel like being hopeful for myself with this cycle at this point is just, well, pointless. However.....3pnb, you will find this interesting also, purplepoet said on the August 2ww thread that her doc said many early bfps are a sign of multiples of pregnancies that aren't viable. I may test again in the morning, but if another stark white bfn, just going to wait for AF. WP, I normally get AF late late on 13dpo and the full bleed on 14, so I could that as my CD1 for the next cycle. Hmmm, well, you never know! And for you with so many symptoms (and clearly you are fertile, lady!), maybe you are just going to get a late one like 3 did this time around!

:hugs: WP and Lola. I'm bummed for you both and obviously hope that maybe just maybe BFP's are still on their way ... 10 dpo is definitely on the early side but I know you've gotten them that early before Lola.
ELP people frequently forgo preventive care due to lack of insurance; however if someone has an emergency condition (like your broken leg example) it will be treated... they aren't just going to be left to live with a broken leg. If it is a hospital that provides medicare services (the gov't program for those who qualify as low-income) the hospital is required by federal law to treat emergency situations even in uninsured with no ability to pay. That said, the hospital can still pursue payment from the patient after they have been treated... but they can't deny treatment. This only applies to emergency conditions though.
3pnb I think it is so neat that your friend will go to the us with you! Is this the one that had a baby girl not long ago?

Lola-10dpo us still early!!! FX for you and anyone else testing soon!!
I really wonder what the costs of vbac are compared to a section? I need to look that up for sure. I will definitely talk to my doc about this once I get my BFP. No sense in stressing about it now when I'm not pregnant yet lol! I worry too much! I truly believe everything will work itself out in the end. It always does. Truth be told though, I'm terrified at the thought of a vaginal birth!
b3blue
August 8th, 2011, 01:46 PM
Alexis a vbac will probably be less than half the cost of a section. You're only in the hospital for 2 days for most cases and that in and of itself decreases the cost dramatically. Especially if you have no interventions (epi, pitocin, etc) a natural vaginal birth is better.
Lola-Omgosh homebirth is amazing...amazing. The single best thing I've ever done in my life. I did Hypnobabies too and literally felt awesome the entire time. I labored intermittently for about 14 hours. I gave my 2 year old a bath and read her stories, closed her door and told everyone I needed to get into the birth pool. I went into the living room and had her sister 45 mins later. I was totally calm, it was surreal. It's tough to have homebirths here in NC, but you can find a provider if you do some digging.
Hugs for the BFNs gals...AF stay away!

Oh wow, B3, that is exactly what I'd love to do. I'll have to pick your brain about it more, especially the hypnobabies thing, if and when I get pg. What a great story, though! Did you have a midwife at your house?
Alexis, I have only had a medicated vaginal birth, but it was a piece of cake. I felt no pain, just a wonderful sensation of the baby coming out and just felt with it and powerful, like I did that, ya know? I would love to try a natural one, and I know it does hurt, but there are ways to work with/around the pain. I just didn't have enough gusto left after 14 hours of hard core labor....and my ex-dh (who was DH at the time) was SO unsupportive, he just wanted me to get it over with. He hated all the baby stuff so much.....so I think if I try it this time with my now amazing and supportive DH, I can do it. It's kind of like something for me to conquer, kwim? It will be my last, too, and as I get older (I'm 35 now), I find that the most amazing experiences in life are the ones that forced me to look inside and face a fear, things that made me take a stand for myself, and things that I didn't think I could do. You can do it, Alexis! I swear, I am not just saying this, any mom who has had both will tell you, vb is WAY better and is like half the price. I left the hospital about 24 hours exactly after I had DD2 and felt great. When I had DD1 with the section, I felt like a mac truck had run over my midsection and couldn't even stand up straight. I barely remember any of it from the morphine and all. And during my section, the cutting doc cut her cord when making the uterine incision and blood squirted everywhere. So, I'd rather have a nice vbac anyday than risk a section again....it is WAY riskier, for real!

LOL, Lola, get a life. You are only 10dpo and you know better than that. He he he! I don't have sore boobs really at all anymore. I have had no sore boobs w/ this pregnancy at all yet so don't worry about that. I did have that feeling like you were fighting off a cold feeling and I was emotional. Do you know the percentage of one time shot working on the clomid? Don't you give up quite yet.
I have read through everyone's posts while I've been gone and they were cracking me up.
3PNB, the little waving hand brought tears up and I like the thoughts that he's saying I'm OK here mommy, don't worry. I'm sure this entire pregnancy will be very emotional and I would expect you to be all over the place. I didn't enjoy my last pregnancy so try to take some time to sit and feel and enjoy.
The home water birth was amazing. I am still an advocate, just be prepared especially w/ a unassisted that you are ready to deal with the outcome if something terrible was to happen and you understand what distress and other things really look like so you are prepared to go to the hospital right away. I think home birth is amazing but birth can be dangerous at home and in the hospital both. I don't want to be a downer though, I loved it.
I went to SoCal to see my sisters before 1 of their kids goes to school on Monday. I didn't have a great time though and I knew I shouldn't have gone. I was way too tired and emotional to be there. I told my 1 sister who is getting crazy into Old Testament law and she talks to me about it constantly. I hate it. No Christmas, Easter, birthday's they are eating Kosher, no birth or marriage certificates or ssn's or anything that's normal really. I find it frustrating in the fact that they are pulling further away from family and people. I told her that I would no longer talk to her about it. She is pregnant and was very upset since we talk about everything. I told her that she needed to get used to it. It's just like homeschool, home birth, hollistic meds, you stop talking to people about it unless they are open and intested. If not, the treat you like you are a fool.
My other sister has such out of control parenting issues that I just get very frustrated w/ her selfish child-centered parenting that is detrimental to her kids. Her "most perfect, beautiful, awesome" son didn't want to go to the dentist and would get upset so in 4 years he's never had to go. He refuses to eat all but a few things and very particularly at that and now has 1 tooth disintegrating and the top front 4 have to be capped. He will need to go under anesthesia now since she let him make the rules. I told her she needed to go to a pediatric dentist and let them know. If they can deal w/ children with autism and such they can deal w/ her over the top momma's boy. there are just so many things that she's unwilling to see that she is causing harm to her children. She is so hard on her girls but her precious son, you'd think he walked on water. I just don't get it. This is why I shouldn't have gone.
I picked a fight w/ DH last night and slept w/ my son pissed about something he can't even do anything about, just mad at being stuck in certain places in life. I got so frustrated w/ DD1 that I was boiling inside the day I left for SoCal. I called my sister while I was driving to vent and was all kinds of worked up. My eyes had been blurry all morning and then I started having trouble coming up w/ the words I was trying to say. I think I had too much blood working from being upset. I am just the most crazy, hormal pregnant person ever. I'm shocked my DH has let me have 5. I'm insane and I don't even like myself.
I have so much to do to get ready for the school year on Monday and the house is soooo horrible I can't even tell you. Why can't I just have a normal life where I'm at home w/ my kids in my own house and not living in my hoarding mother's (parents) upstairs. I can't have a normal family life and now i have to work 3 days for the fall instead of 2. Now 3 days of my week is spent at someone else's house. I really should go, I'm not in a good place and need to start being thankful. I think I'll take the kids to the park for a break.
Oh yes, and I told both of my sisters I was pregnant. #1 I needed them to know why I was being such a b*#$@ and #2 one of my sisters was already on to me since I said and did the same things to hide my last pregnancy. When I told her I wasn't having starbucks she was on to me. I told DH there was no point in hiding it and it wouldn't be a surprise anyway. The friend I work for is on to me too since I've had Dr. appts. Not as much fun but I don't feel like telling everyone yet.

Good point about home birthing, for sure. I guess it is safe to say there is always a risk. I get freaked out a bit thinking about that, but I guess you just have to identify how problems look and be willing to abandon your hospital-less mission and go do what you gotta do. Luv you too! I had to give you a hard time Lola, I just had to! :) They are hoping to move into the bushes somewhere, so just give them some time. :) We all screw up w/ our parenting but DS2's doing some things that's shes so unwilling to see. Oh well, you just feel bad for the kids and for her extra stress.
I think it would be irresponsible of me to do a HB at this point and I don't think I could handle it if something was to happen again. No widwife would touch me with a ten foot pole at this point anyway. I want to in soooo many ways. It was amazing and amazing for the kids. Hopefully they can still be in the room but we'll have to have someone waiting in case the kids need to leave. The hospital I'm in, the rooms are on the smaller side so it will be hard. I want my children there and someone to video. The doula might want to be there too that attended our birth but DH is pretty particular. I'm of the more the merrier approach.
I guess part of the home birth too is that I read a lot and people seem to think that home birth is the best and hospitals suck stuff and I just want to tell people that there are risks in anything. The attitude is what I struggle with and had it myself. I would recommend a licensed well recommended midwife. The unattended is way to scary I think, although I know someone who did it.

iluv: I completely understand where you are coming from. Your right anything can happen when it comes to birth, you have to be prepared and even more so if doing a home birth. Did you have a midwife? Nope didn't smack hubby...yet....he is on his way home :) Sometimes I am glad I have all brothers....you want a close bond with sisters and if they flake, I think it would make it very hard. Luckily you have a nice family to come home to.

We had a doula there who had been through all of her training minus taking the midwifery test for her license, since taking the test wasn't available until after the birth. The symptoms my son was showing no one had the experience to tell that he was in distress. Had we been in a hospital w/ more people and knowledge, things might have been different. Hard to be 100% about that, but seems he would have had more of a chance and caught earlier. There are still risks at a hospital, but in this case, things might have been different. God could have saved him, so I think he just wasn't meant for this world and I'll see him again soon. The guilt is hard to deal with and I have to just understand what happened is rare. Like I said, I'm pro home birth but people can get cocky about it too.

ITA with this. We have a family member who lost their 2nd baby due to not getting to the hospital in time after a complicated home birth. The mother herself was quite lucky to live  I think it is admirable when women go for it, I understand the desire for sure, but I know she regrets her decision still... that said, her 1st was a home birth that went well so she felt confident in her choice at the time. To each her own on this type of thing IMO. I'm quite comfortable in the hospital myself
Iluv I missed you and am glad you're back! Sorry to hear of the family drama. A friend of mine has a brother who has chosen to live Old Testament style. It is ... intense; until she told me about it I hadn't heard of that at all. :hugs: for all you have going on right now.
Weirdly today I've been feeling pretty good about potentially having DD3. Last week the idea was making me miserable. Good ol' pregnancy hormones, gotta love them. Today they made me eat McDonalds chicken nuggets, which normally I have absolutely no desire for, ever. Even my kids don't like McD's. But they were exactly what I needed, LOL!

Lola- I'm so scared of the homebirth, I've had 2 births that needed intervention. I like the hospital/midwife combo, peace in my room, technology down the hall lol
B- yep same pal
Elp- b's right, I'll clarify. They won't turn you away in an emergency but can refuse to treat you in a non-emergency situation.
Alexis- fear not the vaginal birth, quick healing and you feel back to normal within days.
Iluv- thanks Hun, I'm starting to relax a bit and feel happy. The bigger the belly gets the happier I'm starting to feel, the little kicks aren't hurting either
My sil does things with her kids that are hurting them in the long run. It's so hard to sit and watch but not always worth the fight.
WP- all brothers huh, yeah you really miss the drama of being close to a screw-up sister. Enjoy it lol Have you studied Bradleys? I love it!

Nothing settles an anxious Mama more than feeling that baby move so I am really happy that yours is giving you that treat!

Pick away! Yes I had a midwife. I would never do unassisted as there's far too many variables that could happen for which I am certainly not prepared for. We lived a mile from the hospital too so that made me feel totally comfortable but after having done it now I'd be fine being further away.

b3: Is hypnobirthing anything like The Bradley method?
Nope. The Bradley method is husband/partner coached childbirth. They teach ways to cope with the pain. Hypnobabies, and also Hypnobirthing (different method) teach you to interpret the pain differently so as not to feel it. A lot of the pain you feel is fear of the process itself. Getting yourself into a deep relaxation allows you to simply feel waves of pressure. I didn't think it would work at all and would always fall asleep to the cd's. But when the time came, I was up and talking, getting my hair braided, giving DD a bath all while my water had broken and I was contracting regularly. Contrasting with my first birth where I didn't make it to 2 cm before I screamed I couldn't take the pain.

I totally get that too. I actually might have a hospital birth this go round as we're in a sort of flux where I'm not totally comfortable here. We're staying in my family's 100 year old house while ours in on the market 3 hours away. It needs an insane amount of work and I just don't really want to live here, much less birth here! There's a birth center about 45 mins away that might be a good compromise but I have no problem just showing up the hossy near pushing and calling it done. I'm so very sorry to read of your loss and that you're going through so much right now with your family. I hope things calm soon.

b3b your hypnobirth thing has me all kinds of interested! I am going to consult google on that; I'll definitely be a hospital kinda girl but I would LOVE to go unmedicated. I made it to 8cm last time and was soooo close but caved and got the epi.
I need to go look in my journal and see when I first felt the girls! How soon we forget ... oh I can't wait for those flutters though, they really help with the bonding for me. Much moreso than the nausea ;-)

I've never really gave any concideration to a home birth myself, mainly because going to the hospital is the only day I get without the kids and DH lol, and thats true:oops: If I was at home there would be a constant ****** of 'MUUUUM' calls for sanwiches and butt wipes that it would be more stressful than a hospital car park delivery! Plus they bring you tea and toast in the hospital afterwards! What luxury!!

I am fully for a hospital birth just to have my own time with baby away from the rest of the crew...even if it's just for 24hrs. I have had all 5 girls all natural with no drugs (other than gas with DD#4...because she was a huge elephant...9lbs at 37 weeks), and get to birth the way I wanted. Here is Australia if you go public midwives deliver you (4/5 of m girls were born this way)...and private you get looked after the whole birth by a midwife and your Ob comes in for delivery. At home would be nice but it's also a comfort knowing technology is right there just incase you need it!!

Remember, I didn't get mine until 11 DPO with no symptoms at all. It was strong on 11 dpo, and negative and no hint on 10 dpo. I didn't get sore breasts until at least 14 dpo.

Yes, I did the Bradley method with the last 2 births.....sooooo much better than the other 4.
Funny story.....
I woke up this morning at 5am to go potty and was not hungry. Of course, I thought to my self.....well AF must be coming and the symptoms are gone :( . Well as soon as I got back into bed my stomach started growling like it was eating itself and DH even asked me if I was going to get up and feed my "black hole". So, no AF and an over active stomach. What a weird cycle!?!? I just wish this cycle would end, so I could start the next one or get a BFP. This is so weird considering I always have a 28 day cyle if not BFing.

iluv-I was in the hospital when my friend had her baby . her doc ( a woman) did not made it to the birth and only the nurses was there. Was there with next baby too , doc just run in to catch the baby then she was out of the room. So again only the nurse was there . She was almost out too but checked the baby 1 more time and he was getting a little blue not breathing good. So she grabbed him and started stimulating him and called other in.
So you see just because you are in the hospital it doesn't mean everything is perfect and safe. Do not feel guilty!

Well, after reading this, I TOTALLY see where you are coming from. You have a good peaceful attitude about it, Iluv...although I am sure you had your moments of being VERY VERY angry with God and a lot else. I would. It just sucks that you had to be one of the ones that had something go wrong with a homebirth. I know I've told you how my heart breaks for what happened, but I also want to tell you that even though I don't know you IRL, I have a tremendous respect for you for all you have been through and how strong you seem to remain. I am 11dpo today, and this morning, I stared at the FRER as I did the peepee dance for a minute when I woke up and decided to give poas a miss today. I will try it again tomorrow. I just chickened out, to be honest. I needed a day of not being upset about it if another bfn. With ttc for so long, I've just seen too many bfns, and they still bum me out! I am really a better candidate for waiting till AF is due and then testing, but I just can't help myself since I got 2 bfps at 10dpo with my m/cs this year.
Plus, I needed a day of just being happy that my a$$ho!e ex and his wife found out they are having a GIRL yesterday, HAHAHAHA! My oldest talked on the phone to him and said he did not sound happy about it! And, how ridiculous is this, he has apparently been going on and on about how he hopes it is a boy, etc, all summer. I am sure it made my girls feel just wonderful about themselves. But, God has a great sense of humor. Give the misogynists all girls. I love it.

DD4 was also a home birth with 2 midwife .(vbac) Yes it did hurt a lot I had back labor and she came out with her right hand up next to her head , BUT I did not have 1 tear on me . No cut , nothing.( adn she was my biggest baby) I had a cut with DD1 and 2 and they say after you had one it's hard not to get it again because you don't stretch so good anymore from the scar.
Now this maybe true in the hospital where ppl yelling in you face to push and counting to 10 but not when you have a midwife who is telling you to take you time go slow and helping you stretch . (you don't need to push like crazy and for sure not till 10 sec. don't know who came up with that but it's stupid)
Anyway I did all this because DD3 was a c/s had no choice with that I had placenta previa . ( if they would say like you need a c/s because baby is big or other bla bla things I would have said no of course) but of course can't say no to PP.
So they wanted a c/s with DD4 for no other reason just because I had 1 before. Ummmm no thanks that's no reason for me. So I left them and went to a birth center. But after a c/s you can't give birth there ( stupid law for sure) only at home so they come to your house and bring everything to you.
Ok so that was me.:)

Wow, love all of the birthing stories and experiences! You know, I am very comfortable in the hospital also, I just see all of those lovely shows and documentaries with homebirths and it just seems so awesome....and I'm sure it is. I have this birth fantasy about having a lovely homebirth with some chill jazz playing and my girls there. Reality is, that I have kick your ass inside-out labors that are LONG, so it would be a bit hectic. And Iluv and a lot of you make excellent points about the safety and risks. I guess it is up to the risks you are willing to take. I would like to at least have a natural birth, but I am not good with the pain. I'm like you with #1, B3.....it was kicking my butt in no time, and by the time I got to transition, I was having back to back contractions, no break in between whatsoever, and puking and to boot, was angry with ex-DH for being such an unsupportive arse the whole time.

LOL!!!! It's his third girl, first two are mine, and this one is with his new wife. Funny thing is, I KNOW he was dying, just dying for a boy, because he was up my butt and around the corner about our girls being boys. I mean, I felt like he didn't even LIKE or WANT DD2 because of it, he barely paid any attention to her at all, and still favors #1 big time for some reason. I think he liked her somewhat because she was the first. Needless to say, you can all probably see what I left this man (even though he is filthy rich and I was on easy street with that). It was that bad. My girls think it's funny that he is having another girl, too.....that's how much he talked about it being a boy to them.

Oh, we are going to cheer you on like crazy when your time comes to ttc! Just eat EVERYTHING, lots of nutrient-rich foods. I think you are doing a great job from everything I've read for the last couple months, Flava!!!! And you know what I think, the biggest thing you need to change is the defeatist attitude....you must believe you CAN make a boy and you WILL and see it as a challenge that you CAN and WILL take on and win! That will raise your testosterone more than any food can, I believe. Just because you had sway failures doesn't mean you will again.
