Just checking in :-)
I've been stalking daily but not feeling very postey. I feel so blah.
My 2.5 year old sleeps alright at night but has a lovely habit of waking up 2 hours before everyone else and ends up coming to bed with us. I'm not sure how to cut it out. I'm still weaning him too. I've never nursed a child so long but he's my baby and he's so sweet I don't know how to cut him off :-( he only nurses when he comes in bed in the morning or when I put him to bed at night. At night it's only for a minute on each side, I think I'm pretty dried out. It's likely more for comfort. But I'm done also.
I have an appointment today. 10 weeks, first ultrasound so I'm looking forward to that. Also physical exam and I'm dreading that. I freaking hate papsmears soooo much. I can't imagine anyone actually likes them but I seriously get anxiety thinking about it, I don't know why :-/
I wish there was some fun gender predictor game to go off of a 10 week u/s !
I'm getting my pap done next appt too...like how did I end up pregnant at the same time I need one?! It's cruel and unusual punishment.

Just an FYI for those getting a pap, I bled and she said that's normal when you're pregnant. I forgot she warned me and hand a momentary freak out when I saw blood later on.

Well thankfully the pap is next month!
They have me all the paperwork for the Panorama test. I keep thinking and talking like this is another boy and have felt fine with it but now I'm nervous as crap. I think I'll go in for the blood work tomorrow then 10 day wait.

Just stalking you guys. Love to follow Your journeys!
Lovely picture kmom!
Two i love the idea of Your two kids sharing a bed. You sound like a very confident mom! You know and feel what they need! Good for you that you won't let a docter who doesn't know it all! Make you feel inadequate!
I have the tendency to doubt myself. While i do know my kids and feel whats right.
Bella you are such a sweet mom! I'm weaning my almost 14 month old daughter too. She doesn't like it. But she drinks and eat much better during the day know and she sleeps through almost every night now!
She's breastfed the longest. And a wake at night also the longest! Lol.
And although i loved it and am gonna miss it. I'm done too!
Hope you get a good night sleep!

The twins are already fighting with each other. On my scan Dalton had his head by Ophelia's feet and was sleeping. She kicked him in the head and he started flailing everywhere, so she kicked at him more. He flipped over to get away from her. LOL

I'm sure your doctors know best, but... my midwife would never do a pap on a pregnant woman when I used to see her. She said there is a risk of miscarriage. :/ No idea if it's true or not, but she said to leave the cervix alone. Again—I'm not doctor so take that for what it's worth. But I rejected a pap when my midwife this time around suggested it. Too nervous. It can wait a few months.
Bella—I so feel you! My youngest is 3 1/2 but he's autistic (so developmentally more like 1 1/2)and still sleeps with me. Though, I use the word "sleeps" very loosely. He's a super light sleeper and wakes up several times a night. Sometimes he's up for—I kid you not—3-4 hours at a time. Kills me. My midwife keeps telling me to get rest. Ha! Trust me, I would if I could. We're going to have to move him out of my room before baby comes for sure, but I know it's going to be a rough transition. At the moment, I do put a lot of blankets between us to avoid being kicked or flailing arms, and usually a hand on his arm helps him go back to sleep okay. In fact, if he snuggles, he gets too lovely and actually wakes himself up.

No pap over here either. The midwives in my area won't even consider it if you're pregnant. They don't even do cervical checks until labor unless you request them. Any possible bacteria getting through just isn't worth the risk.

Same here, my Gp would never do a Pap smear on a pregnant mum unless there was a problem indicating a high risk. Boo to that!
Well last night was officially hell. Ds was awake from 3:20-4:45 am. I started to really resent him last night. So frustrating. My others I have done the same with, my middle child asked to sleep in her sisters bed and we never heard a peep out of her. She still woke but I breast fed her and she would go back to sleep. This little fella is getting cross about not being allowed to touch my boobs and it is really driving me nuts. Temper tantrums in the middle of the night aren't great :(. I'm putting him down for a sleep right now and then heading back to sleep myself.
Thanks for all of the support ladies. It's. Or easy being a mum, but I'd rather do it than anything else.

My Harmony Results are in and available for me to view on my healthcare system's online patient portal BUT I can't see them, it says it could take 24 hours for them to load (as of 3:03pm). This is TORTURE!!! Argh!!!! I'm going to assume that if there was something wrong or not normal my midwife would have called me?? I have literally been losing sleep over this test worried that something could be wrong. I'm down 5lbs. and can fit in my regular clothes (they're a tad bit snug but not too bad until evening comes when I get more bloated). You cannot tell I'm pregnant at all and I was incredibly sick all Saturday morning, no clue why. This has just been the weirdest pregnancy for me and I was hoping for some reassurance from the Harmony test that all was well. I slept like crap last night worried over the results and the gender. Sigh, sorry to complain I just cannot believe that I have waited 3.5 weeks and now it's available but I can't view it and my midwife didn't call me with the results. I hope I can sleep tonight, I'm so exhausted. :(

Kmom at ten weeks you could get a NIPT blood test to determine gender (it's also a diagnostic test for various genetic disorders).
I read somewhere that anterior placentas tend to be more girls but I had it both times with my boys so not sure if that's true!
LOVERR it's called a signature you can change it in your profile settings I think? Xx
I think it tends to run more in girls when you've had previous pregnancies where the placenta was posterior and you had the opposite gender. At least that's how it's seemed to be for a lot of the blogs I've read and friends I've talked to. I have 5 mom friends who had boys first all posterior placentas then went on to have girls with anterior placentas. I don't think its a sure thing at all nor should anyone count on it to be true. I'm certainly not counting on it to be true for me but I did find it interesting! ;)

Aw, Bella29, what a rough time you're going through. I can relate. My boys didn't sleep through the night until they both night weaned at around 2.5yo. I nursed my youngest (he'll be 3 this month) for the last time 2 months ago bc I had dried out and he would latch on and say "No milk". So we talked about how he's getting so big that he doesn't necessarily need mommies milk anymore and he seemed to do ok with it but he is a little older than your guy. I've bed-shared with both kiddos, the youngest is still in a twin bed next to our king but since he weaned he's been waking up in the middle of the night asking to come into our bed. He's also getting up a lot earlier because he's hungry and there's no nursing to satiate him until we all get up for breakfast, it's made DH and I pretty tired for the past 2 months. But like you I am hoping to transition him slowly over the summer to his new bed in big brothers room. We shall see how it goes. I'm keeping our extra twin bed and frame so if he needs to use it in our room then we'll keep it there. I don't know if that would work for you but once he falls asleep I move him back to his twin bed so I can have the room I need again. These transitions are so tough on everyone. I'll be thinking of you and hoping you can get some much needed sleep tonight and in the future, hang in there momma!

I was under the impression the type of mosquito that carried the virus cannot survive the flight here or live in this weather. Plus, haven't they found that may not actually be the virus that causes that birth defects I don't feel like looking up.

Yeah from the investigation we have done, they think the issue might be the chemicals they have put into the water in those areas to kill the mosquitos that has caused the encephalopathy, rather than the virus which has been around for 70 years before all of this.

The species of mosquito that carries it does not live in my area so I'm fine that way. However, I'm still waiting on the results of my Zika test from two months ago when I got back from Costa Rica. It was originally supposed to take two weeks to get back, but now the CDC is saying four months! So far everything looks good with their heads and brains. Everything is measuring proportionately to the rest of their body measurements. I'm not particularly worried anyway. There was a report out that when they studied past outbreaks of Zika around the world the instances of microcephaly ran at roughly 1% of those infected to as high as 4%, which is still quite low.

Some are blaming it on a larvicide, but it's been used for over a decade all over the world and there are not increased instances of microcephaly there. Plus, humans don't have the proteins and pathways that are targeted by it, so it wouldn't have an effect. At least per credible scientific articles.

So, I finally got a call from my midwife this morning with my Harmony results. She has no idea why I would get an email that they were available and then me not be able to see them in the web portal and was very kind and apologetic. The results are that I am the lowest possible risk for any abnormalities and...it's a GIRL. I'm so incredibly grateful that everything is ok with this little baby, of course I'm happy that we are expecting a girl also but the biggest weight on my shoulders was that the baby was healthy. So, so very blessed and I will continue to remember that even though I got sick again this morning. This is by far the weirdest pregnancy of all of them!!

So, strange series of unexplainable stuff :/ This weekend I started having this gushing weird colored CM. Between that and cramps, I freaked out and went to the ER. They did a bunch of testing, all came back negative. Then I started having contractions that evening, and still having them. So I asked my OB about it today. He checked and no cervical changes. Yay for a girl!
I had a 2-hour fetal echocardiogram this morning since DS3 was born with three different heart defects Everything looked good and the cardiologist said worst case scenario was that they had the one defect that couldn't rule out but that it was functionally normal (as DS3's is) or most likely that they don't have it at all. Yay! Twin B still has her echogenic focus, but they said it is of no concern for anything and they don't even worry about them, that with more advanced technology they have found they are quite common. I'm feeling very relieved. I spent the last few weeks stressing about this testing.

How scary Two!! I would have freaked out too!! So glad everything is ok and that baby seems to be doing well. The waiting period to find out what my risk was made me a little crazy, I was so worried, I can't even tell you why because I have no history of issues but I just always keep in the back of my head that not every pregnancy ends happily. I know that may be dark but it helps me realize and appreciate what I do have, not take it for granted and be compassionate of everyone's journey. I hope they get those results back to you asap so you're no longer waiting too. :)

Congrats! I have had the stomach flu several times, as well as tummy issues but not morning sickness. .. at least not like I had with my boys. With my boys- ds1 I was sick b4 I knew I was preg & my other 2 boy pregs it hit around 7-8 weeks. We don't know what we are having this time so no clue if the difference this time is gender based.

I've been trying to avoid all boards because I'm freaking the F out. I know dh is probably going to get the results this week and I'm so nervous and scared for him. I really think it's worse to sway for someone else. I could handle my own emotions but it will be hard to see him sad. Hopefully he can be a good actor.
I posted on another thread about a vivid dream I had where someone revealed the sex to us and he thought it said boy at first but it said girl. He was so excited, then so sad and I was crying in my dream!! I've never had such a realistic dream and it's scaring me that it's a girl. I almost wish I hadn't swayed because I tried sooo hard and did so much that it's going to be tough if it's a girl. Obviously we'll love her but the fact that he's finding out so soon is giving me anxiety.

Quinn- I can't imagine swaying for someone else. That will definitely be tough, but he had to know you tried your absolute hardest and did everything you could. I feel the same way about my own sway... So much so that my hubs told me to do the sneek peak DNA test and I haven't ordered it because I'm so nervous to get an actual answer.
What we go through swaying is such a rollercoaster and once we finally get that BFP it's all out of our hands. I've never felt so helpless. I'm sorry you're so stressed about it. Just have faith that it's going to be okay no matter what, take a deep breathe and try to relax.
Are you finding out too??

Yeah I think he knows I really did all I could. I was freaking out so much today, he assured me he will be happy regardless. It will take time but he will eventually be okay. He already told me he'll cry of its a girl, lol. I knew that since he cried last time.
When will you find out? I would love to know if it's a boy but don't want to know if it's a girl so I've been trying to hint that he could tell me if it's a boy. [emoji6]
It really does feel helpless and I just want to enjoy this since it's my last pregnancy!

I'm 10 weeks so I won't find out until the 15 week scan. I thought about ordering the sneak peek Dna test but it had mixed reviews. Someone else told me to get intelligender but because I lean a little towards pcos, I don't think it will be accurate for me.

Does your practice do any nipt tests like Harmony or matenit21? I don't qualify for insurance coverage because I don't meet the criteria but the test my midwives use is only $100 max. I figured why not.

I feel for you! 5 weeks seems like an eternity! I have 2-5 days left and every minute feels like an hour waiting and willing my phone to ring. And we have a little over 4 weeks until thr big surprise for my Grandma and that seems an eternity away. But we'll both get there.... eventually lol.

Hi! I'm popping in to congratulate everybody! I'm currently on track with an EDD of Sept 20th, just got our 17w scan and Harmony test results and both say we're having a little girl. I'm so excited!!! Just to add to the Harmony/NIPS processing time, I had my blood drawn on April 6th (afternoon) and got called with results on April 11th (morning). I was surprised they had them so soon since I was told 1-2 weeks.
I'm so happy to be in the 2nd trimester -- had nausea 24/7 from week 5 through week 13 and the only thing that would help a little was lying down flat. I was soooo miserable and couldn't even sit upright without feeling mega carsick. Since week 14, it was a couple good days, then a really bad day, and so on. I'd say from the start of week 16, it's been good days mostly with the random bad wave of nausea (like last night!). I've been taking b6 + Unisom to manage it and will continue until my next OB appt @ 18w.

Hi sorry I'm crashing. I got my bfp a few days ago. I wont be part of your group as my due date will be 25.12.16. I'm just wondering when did the sickness start with you all. I never really experienced with my boys. The odd day here and thee but much more into pregnancy. I'm 12dpo and this morning I have woke up feeling sick and non productive retching. Sorry tmi. Either it's morning sickness or I'm coming down with something.

Quinn I couldn't imagine. That sounds like a lot of pressure. I know my dh wants a girl too but not in the way I do and definitely not as strongly as I do. If it's another boy he'll probably just be like, eh oh well. If he wanted one badly I'd be freaking out too. It's easier to think of handling your own emotions than someone else's.
Now that my blood work has been done I'm terrified. Like, it feels like it makes it more definite. I mean, it was out of my hands as soon as we conceived but now it feels like my hope of ever having a girl is about to quickly come to an end :-(
I mean it goes without saying of course I'll love another sweet boy so much, I know you ladies understand the complex emotions of gender desire.

Pretty accurate but not 100% and can't diagnose an issue, just points to the potential there is one. Basically after a certain point baby and mommy's blood mingle together so they can get baby's cells from mommy's blood then they just look at the chromosomes of baby. Not sure how they tell a girl baby cells from mom's but somehow they can.

At first I was trying to focus on gender because thinking about health made me too scared, now they're both freaking me out. Everyone on my birth board had their Progenity results in a week so I was hoping for today but I don't know. I actually want to avoid dh so I don't find out I am feeling better about another girl. I'd be sad to never raise a boy but I love my girls.

So my stupid ob called and didn't leave a message. I'm guessing they were calling with my results and then noticed the note in the system to call my husband. I immediately called him and asked him a silly question to see how he would react. He seemed a little off and kind of annoyed with my stupid question but I'm hopeful that either they didn't call him with the results or he was just trying to play it off. I feel like if he had just heard girl, he would have been more obviously upset.

If he wants to tell me in a couple weeks/months when he has his emotions under control, I'm okay with that. He was visibly sad when we found out about dd2. I know he didn't want to be and he is a great girl dad but it was obvious. I spent the rest of my pregnancy sad for him. I just wanted to enjoy this one because it's my last pregnancy. Finding out in general is not something I'm opposed to.
I was just so excited because "the most accurate" Chinese gender chart said boy for this one and girl for my previous two. Oh well. At least if he's heard by now and not contacted me, the baby is healthy which I care about more than anything.

I have a friend whose baby died a week before her scheduled c-section. This was also her first and she had several miscarriages in between. It's almost a year out and she is still doing really bad. There are some good support groups out there but sometimes another child may be the only way to help ease the pain.

It's possible and I'm not entirely sure. I know she asked her dr about testing and was told she wasn't high risk. She might not have understood what was offered. I think I actually declined testing with my first because I was naive. It feels so unfair because in this group of friends we've had several late losses and a friend give birth to a daughter with serious disabilities. Everyone has such a negative and scared outlook on ttc and pregnancy now.

That really is heartbreaking and horribly unfair. I had an acquaintance (friend of a friend) go through something like that and she's still working through her grief. I'm so sorry your friend had that experience. I've heard a couple women say they didn't feel better until they had their next child. We were just discussing how little we knew when we had our firsts. Yay for girl, crd!!! So happy for you!
My panorama results were fast for me—closer to 5 days. My midwife had said 14, so I was shocked...but super happy to get them. The waiting was horrible. Those 5 days really felt like 50. Hope you both get your answers soon!
So sorry to hear about your friend! Heartbreaking. My sister actually lost a baby at 1 month old due to heart problems that no one had diagnosed. Though, with the right tests, they really should have seen it before she delivered. It was her first, and she and her husband were young/hippy/snowboarder looking types, so no one really listened to their health concerns or took them seriously. And they just didn't know to push either. So incredibly sad. Like others were saying, she didn't really get back to anything close to normal until she had another baby. She's currently due with her third now, and lucky they have all been healthy since!

BTDT, nothing can replace the baby that was lost... but there is something healing about the renewed hope bringing a new baby into this world gives you. You do have to be in the mental space of wanting to try again, not to replace your loss but to try to find sunshine in the storm, though.

I thought I was over 8 weeks, my last period was February 12th. I went in for my first ultrasound and they didn't see a baby , but saw a nice strong sac. I looked it up and saw it was called ovum blite. They had to do a second ultrasound and it measured 5 weeks 6 days.
My dr said she wants to see me next Thursday and will look for a yolk sac, look for growth , if there is no growth , then it is bad news. The good news is the sac looked nice and round and not shriveled up. What your opinion about this? I have never experienced anything like this .

When did you get your first BFP? If you ovulated later then you could just not be as far along as you think. Hopefully this is the case.
With my one last year I knew I was 7 weeks as I charted and also got a BFP at 10dpo. When I had a scan it was only measuring about 5 wks 3 days and then 10 days later it was only measuring about 5 wks 4 days and the sac was deteriorating. I'm hoping this own't be the case for you and everything will be ok.

Do u chart? If not then it is possible you just O'd late. With my first the doc insisted I was 10 weeks based on LMP then panicked when they couldn't find baby on ultrasound. I had an ultrasound a week later and he was just fine, just not as far along as LMP suggested. FX and prayers that u see a nice yolk sac next time.

BTDT, nothing can replace the baby that was lost... but there is something healing about the renewed hope bringing a new baby into this world gives you. You do have to be in the mental space of wanting to try again, not to replace your loss but to try to find sunshine in the storm, though.

Dh is acting completely normal so I have no idea if he heard the results. He was super patient with our kids last night so a part of me is hopeful he heard boy. He's a good dad but at the end of the night, everyone usually loses it in my house. Either that or he didn't try calling them and is waiting to hear today.

I guess I underestimated how complicated it could get, lol. Previously he told me he wouldn't tell his coworkers until he knew the sex. He told me today he told his closest friend there and he went out and got him a costco cake right away which is his favorite, lol. I assumed he had heard and it meant boy because he definitely did not celebrate when we found out our second was a girl. He cried and had to be alone all evening. Then...he just sent me a text saying he was calling the dr to get the results and he'd make sure they don't call me again. He said he wanted to tell people before he knew and was possibly impacted by the results. He's such a sneaky surprise lover that I could totally see him saying that to throw me off. Earlier this week he told me he wouldn't call until next week if he hadn't heard because it would be ten business days!! Lol this is crazy. I'm just going to assume he heard the baby is healthy and that is all I want to celebrate. I'm also really hoping he brings some cake home!!

LoveRR- when I went in for my first sonogram I was measuring a week behind (but we saw a start of a baby). Dr thought everything looked ok and I had just ovulated late. The month I got pregnant was my first time chatting but I had tracked my ovulation with opk to get 3 kids so I thought I was close. I had to come in a week later for another sonogram. The baby had actually caught back up and she keep my due date based on May menstrual period. When I went in for my 12-13 week sonogram they thought I was still measuring a week behind. I know one of my other children was behind if not both and both came a week early and were 6.9 and 6.10 pounds. Hopefully you just Oed late!!
Oh, Quinn!! That's a hard situation. Obviously, I don't know ur DH but it does sound like he's really into letting you not know the gender, I could see him trying to throw you off. With our hormones right now you may drive yourself crazy!!! You may need to ask him.
I'm 19 weeks today!!! I raked yesterday -u don't realize how much ab muscles that takes until you don't have any. Since last night I've been having Braxton hicks. It's sort of scary. Happening often and at the top of my uterus. If you all hadn't just mentioned it I'd be totally freaking out.

Sometimes things can just measure small early on. When I went in at 7 weeks, they had a hard time seeing anything but the sac and said it was measuring closer to 5 weeks, and they couldn't detect enough heartbeat to even measure it. I was so worried, as I'd had two losses before that. But when I went back a week later, they clearly saw baby, and she was measuring 2 days ahead of where she should be. And the heartbeat was nice and strong. So, I would say it's too early to worry yet. I honestly don't think they all grow exactly according to when they should.
Hoping hard for you that dh is playing it off, Quinn! I don't know how you have the willpower not to ask. I'd be dying to know. Fingers crossed!!

You might be too early Lauren. A gf and I tried for me when I was 12+6 and just managed to hear it for about 5 seconds. You need to be pointing it under your pelvic bone really at that gestation. Don't be surprised if you can't hear it until 12-4 weeks. Sometimes they are good at hiding. You may hear it earlier, but don't freak out if you don't.

I picked up Baby J's at about 9 weeks. It takes a lot of patience. I had to go for sides(soft area next to hip bone) and point the wand toward the center and just above the pubic bone to find his/her HB. I also had to push in a bit and baby was often very near the strongest sound of my own HB early on. Even with all the patience in the world sometimes you just gotta wait it out. I tried every few days until I finally caught it and been able to find it daily since. Some people and some pregs you just can't find the baby's HR until after the uterus pops up from behind the pubic bone(around 12 weeks). It also depends on your doppler and it's strength. Finally, sometimes (even now at 14 weeks) I'll hear movement before I find the HB. If you hear the swoosh-swoosh of movement keep looking (and moving) around in that area.

AFM- I was up half the night worrying. I've convinced myself that it's a boy for sure and now I'm devastated. I want to just cry and cry... I never imagined my life without a daughter.
After reading a little last night I think I might've had a bacterial infection when we conceived, which would almost for sure give me a boy due to high ph. I feel really hopeless. I prayed all night long for peace in my heart and the ability to find joy in a boy pregnancy.

I'm sorry hun (((hugs))) at least now u both know and can come to terms with it and baby's birthday can be a happier day and you won't have to deal with GD then. Fwiw, girl doesn't necessarily mean girly... this one could end up being a tomboy. I was only girly for as long as I had no choice in the matter (when my parents dressed me and such). I was a major tomboy.... even wore men's shirts a lot because the women's clothes were too "frilly" lol. My point is you may not be getting the boy you wanted but doesn't mean DH won't get his fishing, car fixing, game watching (or whatever DH is into) buddy :)

I feel you. Maybe that's why I've been crying so much last night and today about probably having a boy. It makes me feel horrible but I get so upset when I think about it. I'm trying to decide if I should get a nub shot next week or just wait until 15 weeks. Either way, the thought of finally knowing makes me get that sinking feeling in my stomach... Because I feel like I already know.

Quinn you know because of the feeling or he told you?
Ladies, I am so emotional and weepy over every damn thing suddenly , both sad and happy things. It's ridiculous and I'm over it lol. Ugh!
I cried yesterday because I realized my 18-month-old needs a haircut again. So silly!

Well lately I've been having big doubts, and for some reason I feel the same positivity that it's a boy that I did with my son. I feel like maybe I've been telling myself girl so I could enjoy thinking it for a little longer. The fact that I most likely had a bacterial infection when we conceived also puts it almost to a positive boy because of the ph levels.

Lauren I am having the same feelings. I feel sure it's a boy.
I logged into my Panorama account today and it says they've received my bloods and it's processing. Projected the 26th as the date it would be finished. So far away and at the same time I don't want it to come.

It's so disheartening. I continue to pray for peace in my heart if it's a boy... It's a hard thing to swallow when you feel like you've invested so much and did all of these crazy things for so long. A year of my life I devoted to something and a freaking bacterial infection probably ruined all efforts.

Does anyone know why ramzi theory is apparently less accurate after 8 weeks? I have my 10 week u/s and it looks to my like the placenta is closer to the left (transvaginal) which would mean boy, according to the theory. Why wouldn't that be as accurate as two weeks earlier?

Because the uterus shifts in angle and position. Also, as the placenta grows it spreads out so it's less clear what the original attachment point it. Ideally Ramzi is done at 6 weeks before things start shifting and accuracy goes way down. Also, it's only reliable if the view is done in the transverse plane. Transvaginal scans can be imaged in different planes so you need to have the right one also.

What about abdominal? Are those accurate or can be switched??
Also, I need help deciding if I should get a 12 nub scan or just wait until 15 weeks for gender. Is the nub scan full proof?

Ramzi theory only applies to transvaginal transverse scans. It has not been studied in other views so it's hard to know what the accuracy is. Transabdominal scans don't flip the image (even though I see this posted a million places on pregnancy forums). It shows the same thing as transvaginal, just from a different viewpoint, like if you were looking at something outside your basement window versus an upstairs window. The thing is still the same, you're just coming at it from a different angle. The image could be flipped, but so could a transvaginal. It's just a setting on the machine they can push to mirror the image. Typically what you see on the left-hand side of an image is what is your anatomic right side.

I'd get a nub scan. It's not 100%, but still pretty good. It's more accurate for guessing if you watch it during the live scan versus captured image though. You can see how it moves and looks with baby changing positions and wiggling.

I know it's a girl. Now just trying to accept and move on. Hard because I feel like I failed and sad because I can tell he's hurt. Feeling foolish for spending so much time and energy on swaying. Eating specific foods I don't really care for, supplements, lifting weights, and gaining weight. That will be the hard one for me to come to terms with.
Quinn, I'm so very sorry. I completely understand needing to take a break and process everything. Come back when you're ready, we'll miss you. Sending you peace and comfort as you and DH work through this together.

He told me. Well I basically guessed and he confirmed. It would have been hard for him to handle that on his own. I love having girls so I'm okay for the most part. I'll be sad to not experience a boy and the comments we're going to get are going to suck. I have a feeling I'll be rude to some people.
Hoping you get your results soon Two! I want to take a break from the board to process things but want to know your result!

I don't think it's full proof however if you get a good machine and a good profile shot, it can be guessed with some certainty. Both of my kiddos were obvious at 12.5 weeks.

Hi ladies! I'm 12 weeks 6 days today had a dr apt and my dr wanted to see if we could peek and see anything. I have 3 girls so was really hoping to see boy parts but I believe this is another girl. We could not see anything promising for boy but def did not see three lines for a girl either. It was very flat so we assumed girl. I will go in three weeks to do another ultrasound. What do u guys think. I just hate that I may not be able to give my husband a son. This was my last chance b308413084130841

Well, I couldn't take it anymore so I called. No results :( Apparently on Monday the lab sent something needing clarification... a code or something, and the nurse thinks that may be what is causing the delay :( They said they would call if by some miracle the results pop up before they close but it looks far more likely I'll be waiting until Monday :( This weekend is going to suck :( More waiting. More worrying.

Honestly, the bottom area were the nub would be looks jumbled and potty shots at that gestation aren't reliable..given that nothing is obvious to me on profile shot I would lean girl but for me, these aren't the best shots. Have you posted on the ultrasound forum?

Been meaning to post this :) I've never tested out the OWTs before so, since this will be our last, I decided it'd be fun to do just to say we did. For those of you still playing the guessing game, these are the OWTs I tested out and which were right and which were wrong. Obviously, it's all in fun, just to pass the time but I found it interesting that it was an exactly 50/50 split (nub would have broken the tie but we didn't get a nub shot).
Anyone else care to share which OWTs they tried and which were right/wrong?

Hair- If your hair becomes thick and glossy, and you can’t make it down the street without being stopped by a modelling scout, you’re carrying a boy. If your hair is so dull and limp that you look like you’ve been without running water for quite some time, it’s a girl. Similarly, your body hair is thought to provide a clue too. If your body hair is growing thick and fast, you’re said to be having a boy. If your hair growth has remained normal (don’t be too smug, you’ll still be way hairier than usual because shaving your legs while heavily pregnant is basically impossible), there might be a girl nestled in your womb. - See more at: Boy or Girl? 16 Old Wives Tales And Gender Predictions | BellyBelly (http://www.bellybelly.com.au/pregnancy/old-wives-tales-boy-or-girl/)
Face shape- If your face is long and lean, you might be having a boy. If it's round, you may be having a girl.
DDs heart rate has been 140+ every time it has been checked my doc/ultrasound (usually 150s-160s)... granted the same could be said for my boys.
BunnyGirl19
April 16th, 2016, 11:11 PM
My boy has been high 150s lately and my girl low 140s, both very active at the time too. Total opposite of the OWT. My others were always in the 140s after the early part of pregnancy as well. LOL

April 17th, 2016, 03:16 AM
My body hair growth didn't have any noticeable changes when I was pregnant with my boys. My head hair was growing a lot faster last pregnancy though!
Seeing that you got 50/50 shows that is all OWTs are.. a 50/50 guess :)

Certainly the case for me. With my boys my face got thinner and thinner looking (others noticed, not me until they pointed it out and I went back and looked at pics). This time my face is round even though I'm still losing weight. The weight loss is showing more in my clavicle/chest area than the face.

My lining tend to be thicker which is good for preg (sucks for AF though... I have the WORST AFs). I've been told that my "uterus is consistent with adenomyosis" which is a form of endometriosis but it's an overgrowth WITHIN the uterus instead of outside... or something. I don't 100% understand it all. There is tons online about endometriosis (which my mom had so I am familiar with anyway) but less on adenomyosis. As I understand it, it is not easy to definitively diagnose though. Add to that the fact that I've had TWO D&Cs in the last year, my body may have overcompensated as well when rebuilding my lining. It's also possible that part of what looks like lining may be scar tissue as MY OB says a lot of the problems/pain I've been having is due to scar tissue.
Just keep in mind that Ramzi's theory is not all that accurate, or so I've been told. I'm no expert... not even a little lol.

Certainly the case for me. With my boys my face got thinner and thinner looking (others noticed, not me until they pointed it out and I went back and looked at pics). This time my face is round even though I'm still losing weight. The weight loss is showing more in my clavicle/chest area than the face.
Same for me. It was true up until the end when I started insulin and I got that puffy edema face.

This is mine with the twins. You can see they are both in the upper right corner (as you are looking at it), which makes anatomic left. I sent it in for the free read and then got impatient and paid. The paid one said two girls. The free one said boy/girl except had their genders reversed. They said sac 1 was boy, but it's my Twin B and is a girl. They said sac 2 was a girl, but that's Twin A and a boy. This a transvaginal scan.

The face shape one is something I actually may see something in - after all hormones may affect the way we store fat! :)
This is interesting since I was just noticing that I feel like with a month left my face has been really slim this pregnancy. Hoping for a boy!

This is the one OWT that I think rings true for me. My face has always stayed slim, although I have an oval shaped face to begin with. My GF with girls always had their cheeks fill out.

I agree. My friends with girls always complain about how their face gets fat and their noses get wider lol I had a slim face with my son. My friend said she couldn't really tell until the third tri though and she has 3 girls.

Yep- funny cause I was just talking about this with a friend. My face filled out big time with my daughter and I normally have a long slender face. I didn't notice until I saw pictures. My face never got like that with my boy.

What do you ladies think...I feel pretty confident in my nub shots but also hate the idea of waiting a whole month before my confirmation ultrasound. I would love to start ridding myself of boy clothes and organizing. I could pay $50 for an elective ultrasound or just wait it out. The thought hadn't even crossed my mind until today. Hubby would kill me as we're on a strict budget but I'm dying to confirm!

Hair- If your hair becomes thick and glossy, and you can’t make it down the street without being stopped by a modelling scout, you’re carrying a boy. If your hair is so dull and limp that you look like you’ve been without running water for quite some time, it’s a girl.
So funny, but I was just noting the other day how limp and horrible my hair is! it's usually at its best when I'm pregnant (all boys in the past), and this time around I can't get any volume out of it for the life of me. it's just been in the last couple of weeks, though, that I've seen any difference. Wonder if it has anything to do with different boy/girl hormone? Or it could be I'm just older... :P
On a totally different note... does anyone have opinions on whether olive leaf is safe to take while pregnant? I've been googling and find about half the "expert" sites so no and half say yes. I don't think my midwife knows much about herbs in general, so I'm not sure she'd be the best authority. Thoughts?

To combat candida? I've used it in the past but not during pregnancy..don't think that's helpful. Unless something is absolutely necessary during pregnancy though I usually steer clear..no sense in risking it.

I've gained 7 lbs! I'm a little worried because that's more than where I was at this time around last pregnancy and I was carrying a huge baby..I know it's not baby at this point. I've definitely been careless about my food choices and am eating tons of dairy which I don't usually eat...ever. lol. Ugh. I guess it's time to buckle down.

Oh no! That sucks. Dairy is typically high in calories. If it's a craving thing u might consider taking a calcium supplement as u may be craving it because you need the calcium.

Totally a craving thing but I would think I'm getting plenty of calcium in my prenatal vitamins? And cheese I'd seriously all throughout this gestational diabetes diet. Lol. I think if I can stop with all of the sugary treats I've been allowing myself I'll be ok. I'm actually not consuming very many calories...I just think my food choices are what's doing it. Now that I've said it out loud it will be easier to implement some changes! :)

Well, my pants are officially becoming snug :/ They are ok as long as I am standing but I feel like I am being pinched in half if I try to sit down. Trying to avoid maternity pants as long as possible. With my boys I was stuck in them pretty early on and I kinda hate them lol. I can't stand the stretchy part to goes all the way to my breast line, or the squeezing sensation. I've tried the band varieties but the stretchy part inside ends up rolling on me and it's just something else to deal with. Really wish there were more options :/ For now I have my little extenders that will give me a little more time at least.
On a related note, DH says I've "officially popped" lol. He says you can definitely tell I'm preg now (I'll try to do a pic either tonight or tomorrow as I am over due for my weekly pics) until then (i.e. until I see for myself) I just think I still look extra fat lol. My lower abdomen is showing some obvious (to me) changes. It's much firmer to the touch, esp when I am laying down.
Too soon to be sure but I think I may have finally stopped losing weight too. I've held steady w/in a couple ounces for the last few days. Only time will tell though.
How about you ladies? What's new with the belly crew ;)

Have you tried a BellaBand? You can continue to wear your own pants and shorts and it doesn't go up quite as high as maternity pants.

Slightly unrelated but I'm curious. Does anyone else here feel hesitant to post a photo with their face in it here? Sometimes I want to post a belly pic... but I have this somewhat irrational fear of someone who knows me coming across this website and judging me for being here and desiring one gender over another. Am I the only one? Part of me doesn't care but for some reason I have yet to show any of you my face. Lol..

My nipples were beyond sore in the beginning but I assumed it was because I was breastfeeding. Now it's just my boobs..so heavy and so sore. I always crop my face out too..I guess for the same reasons but Lauren is right..and speaking of less or more anonymity..Lauren, my name is Lauren too. Lol
Here is my latest belly pic. Like I said I'm up 7 lbs which is too much...I should only be up about 4-5 lbs. I've gotten back into my work out routine and no more sugary treats except for special occasions!

Mine hard nipples have not gone away since my first pregnancy 6 years ago. Annoying!!!!!!!!
This time around my nipples are a little more sore-usually I don't get much feeling in them.
Also, my legs and hips seems to retaining more fat than with my boys. Thunder thighs!!! 20 weeks this week!!! Woohoo! We find out the sex on Monday-I think we are going for it. Hopefully, I'll be ok if it's a boy. I'm having a hard time sleeping, all the blood in my body is retained in my vagina or perineal area. Either I'm getting sick or getting morning sickness again (which I've never had too bad). It comes and goes so I'm thinking morning sickness but then my husband was sick yesterday and threw up.
It's going super fast, I can't believe I'm halfway there!!

I'm going to feel so horrible if he's sad it's a boy.
