Lala, I haven't done much purging just yet. But it is organised so I can do that bit at a time once we know gender.
Speaking of gender, I am in a much better place about this baby possibly being a girl. Going thru all of my girls clothes again, I see how adorable some of them are and I'm reminded of how sweet little girls are. I can honestly say if we get another little girl I don't think I will grieve, but will just enjoy the time with another little sweetie. And that's really a relief. I don't want to be worried about GD. I can honestly say now that apart from the desire to give my little boy a brother, I am sure I will be just fine with whatever gender we find ourselves holding in the end.

It's funny with one of each I thought I didn't care. Then I thought I really wanted a girl which is interesting because my girl is a terror . Once I found out it was a girl suddenly I was grieving the boy I wouldn't have and now I feel mostly ok again...gender and gd is a bizarre thing.

So far so good. They are on room air CPAP, but no need for supplemental ocygen or ventilators. No health issues identified so far. We're just working on letting them grow and learn to eat, regulate their temps, etc. If all goes well they'll be here until they hit 36 weeks gestation point.

Wow Bunny! For a little 3 lber born at 31 weeks you have some strong babies there. So happy for you! How long will you stay in the hospital? Do you have to pump until they can nurse?
BunnyGirl19
July 8th, 2016, 02:53 AM
I'm being discharged Friday and they need to stay at least until they reach 36 weeks gestational age. Right now I'm pumping and am not sure when I'll get to attempt nursing. I'm not sure if they'll ever take to nursing or have needs that prevent it (like higher calorie needs or thickening). I do have intentions of pumping for feeds at the very least though.

They're doing great. They are basically just feeders and growers now. We're working on weaning off their IV supplements, increasing their feeds (by NG tube right now), and getting them to learn how to bottle feed all their requirements to go home. I'm not sure how long it will be before we attempt bottle feedings, but they were introduced to a pacifier already and are starting to learn to suck on it.
I still feel exhausted and run down but I think it's because I'm fighting a cold. I'm feeling a little better physically, but definitely still have a sore tummy (it's day 5 now from the c-section). I'm frustrated that my milk is taking so long to come in. I'm only getting 30-50 ml of colostrum-ish stuff per pumping. It's runnier now, but still not actually in milk stage yet. I'm pumping nowhere near what I need to be for a good supply yet. I blame it on the shitty Ameda pump in the hospital. It didn't get anything out of me, maybe 5 ml at most. I had DH get me my Medela and I had gotten 25 ml immediately after pumping only 5 ml with the Ameda. I'm hoping I didn't hurt my supply using that crappy thing.
lala22
July 9th, 2016, 08:27 PM
I hear Ameda is awful though my last medela wasn't great either. I'll be using a new one this time around. I sometimes wondered if I was just wasn't a good pumper.

Boy it sure is quiet these days. Has anyone heard from Lauren? I haven't seen a post from her since she found out boy:/
We're gearing up for our move. Our house closed today- yay!! I am in major nesting and project mode. I have my husband refinishing 4 different dressers and I have a long list of diy projects for the new bedroom my odler two will share plus the new nursery. I have zero patience so it's hard not getting everything at once and spending massive amounts of money and time before we've even moved. Lol

Good luck with the move, lala!
I've been dealing with a possibly-broken foot. last year I broke my foot and had tendon injuries that kept me off it for most of the year. It was 80% healed when I got pregnant... then last week my 4 year old dropped a piece of furniture on my foot. Again. In the same exact place. Totally purple bruises, swollen, and I'm afraid broken. Waaa! And it's so much worse having this while pregnant. Crutches? A total joke. No way can i support myself on those things right now. The boot-cast? So painful and causes massive restless leg. No advil. I'm basically physically useless. I can't get in to see my doctor for 10 more days, so we'll see what xrays show then. Praying maybe just a bone bruise--which hurts but at least wouldn't mean damage. But it feels like the same tendon injury I had before has been re-injured. Which can take up to a year to heal...and even then only has a 50/50 chance of healing without surgery. So. Bummer.

27 weeks exactly! Up about 23-25 lbs and already feeling pains of pregnancy- groin issues, moderate back pain, swollen limbs here and there and not too comfortable sleeping even with the body pillow. I am really trying to savor this though because it is the last pregnancy and I know I will miss it. I'm already sad it's the last time:/

I can't stop crying about the twins being my last and how their delivery was a horrible, terrifying experience. Not to mention they came so early and I was hoping for at least 34 weeks. I want another chance at pregnancy to have my good birth experience and at least for the time being have talked DH out of getting on the waiting list (which is around 6 months) for a vasectomy to give us a chance to adjust and decide one way or the other. He wants to be done, I don't. I don't want to do anything permanent to remove the possibily of more, because I'd regret it too much. For most of my pregnancy with the twins I thought I'd be okay being done when they were born, but around 24 weeks I started feeling uncomfortable with that. DH doesn't really want a vasectomy, but feels like it's expected. I was so upset with all the staff in the hospital trying to pressure me into getting my tubes tied and acting pissy when I said no. All the "you really need to do something permanent before you have more" comments were so hurtful and then they'd move on to telling DH he'd better get a vasectomy. WTF?! I don't understand them pushing it so much. They aren't raising or paying for my children so it's none of their concern how many we have or how frequently. I'm kind of hoping for a "surprise" pregnancy in the near future. I'll need to discuss things with my doctor further, but he said he doesn't see a medical reason for me not to have another pregnancy or a reason why I can't have a VBA2C if we did have another baby. I just really want a 38+ week baby, no complications at birth, a nice vaginal delivery, immediate skin to skin, and a good breastfeeding experience. I've never had all that with any of mine before.

Bunny you crazy! Lol. I truly don't know you do it. You would be on your 7th with another right? I can barely handle my two -wondering how things will be with this 3rd munchkin. But it isn't up to doctors and nurses to decide what you can handle or to give you crap. How are those babies?
BunnyGirl19
July 14th, 2016, 03:19 PM
They're doing good, just feeders and growers now unless an issue pops up. They're both over birth weight and off IV nutrition support. The next step will be teaching them to nurse and bottle feed, although I'm pretty sure I'm just going to end up putting them on formula after they are home. I cannot keep up pumping for both. I'm just barely keeping up now and they're only eating 2 oz total between the two each feeding. I'm thinking it'll be too difficult to pump just to have mixed feedings for two babies. The crappy part is that I just spent $400 on a new pump because my old one that I loved went MIA and the one I got from my insurance is useless at getting anything out of me. It seems like I should have another so I can make good use of it. LOL! I'm really surprised, but at 10 days PP I've lost all but 10 of the 40 lb I gained with the pregnancy.
Yes, my house is crazy with the 4 kids I already have at home, but they play with and entertain each other so it's not like they require constant attention and supervision from me. My cleaning and household chores get slacked on a bit, especially laundry (typically just the folding and putting away part). It's hard to go to appointments when you can't bring kids with so I have to find someone to watch at least a couple of them. The only real issue I think we're going to have is going on our trips because it's a lot of work to split them up and get the grandmas to watch them. I don't feel like it's that much work with the four so far, especially since they are more independent and helpful the older they get, but they complain about it. This would end up meaning DH going on trips without me for a few years, but I'd gladly trade that for another pregnancy.

Oh, I wish I knew. It was the first available they could give me. I guess he's just super busy. :/ He's a foot specialist and does a lot of athletes, so my guess is he's just booked.
So glad the babies are doing well, Bunny! I know most people think 7 kids is a lot, but just a couple of generations ago, that was pretty normal. Heck, in my great-grandma's family there were 10 kids...and that was considered average. I think it's all about what you're comfortable with and what works for your family.
lala, I can't get over how tiny you look! Not that I'm jealous... much. ;) I'm huge. I was at the store the other day and the checker asked, "Are you delivering soon?" Me: "three more months." Her: "Oh my God, but you're huge! Twins?" Me: (through gritted teeth) "No. Just one." ha!
I will NOT miss being pregnant at all. I hate every second of it except when that beautiful baby is born. Of course it's all worth it in the end. It's just ten million types of discomfort now.

Lol girlie you're sweet. It is all about perspective though isn't it because I genuinely feel rather big..having put on 25 lbs I feel it. Sometimes my actual tummy feels smaller than other times which seems so odd to me but in general, my body feels big..my butt, legs and boobs are where I carry so almost everywhere LOL. Girlie, are you all done after this one? You're on the 4th right? But you also have a old oldest which is so helpful. My husband is dead set on no more and honestly I am too...mostly. The last 2 weeks or so though I can't help but mourn this as my last pregnancy, last newborn and last firsts..it's pretty devastating. But financially it doesn't make sense and we love our freedom so it's pretty silly of me to even think of doing this a 4th time and yet that biological urge is there lol.

Yep, for sure my last one. Almost didn't happen...we were close to throwing in the towel a few times while ttc, thinking we were just too old or it was going to be too hard with our autistic son and a newbie. I actually thought #3 was my last, but after he was a boy, well, I just knew we needed a girl to complete our family. Only took me 3 years to convince dh. ;) But I have a 16 year old son, and I'm turning 40 this year, so this is for sure it for me.
My sister was joking the other day that it's been years since she's slept in a bed without kids. I totally trumped her. For 16 years straight I've had a kid in my bed every night...and it's not looking like it will stop anytime soon! Once my youngest graduates from high school I'll be at a total of 34 years of having a child in the house. Ha! So, yeah... I'm so done. :) I'll be cherishing every baby moment, but I haven't had any sadness at it being the last this time around. Kinda relieved really. lol.

Speaking of being done, I had an appt on Friday for my official 3D ultrasound (I have gotten peeks but Friday was the official one). I signed the paper to get the tubal ligation too. I am so done. I am done ttc, done preventing and nearly done with the stress of pregnancy. Glad to know I will never have to think about anything preg or fertility related ever again after she is born. We decided she will definitely be born Sept 30 (barring complications). So she will be here 10 weeks and 5 days from now... eek, lol. She is so cute too. Looks a lot like me and my youngest (who also takes after me ).

Both twins, but especially Ophelia, are super alert and inquisitive when awake. Always looking around wide eyed at everything.
I'm mourning the thought of being done. I want another chance at a term pregnancy. I thought I could get to 34 or more with the twins, but then something must have been going wrong. I went in after not feeling movements out of Ophelia all day and feeling off somehow, only to find I was having some contractions and their heart rates were about 20 points lower than normal. I got the magnesium drip and first steroid shot, which changed my contractions to being more spaced out, but they never stopped. The twins' heart rates dropped even more to 100-110 range and I ended up on oxygen without it helping. They backed off the magnesium to try to increase their heart rates and it didn't work, but then I started dilating quickly and they recommended a c-section because they didn't think Ophelia would tolerate laboring, delivering Dalton, and then repeating the process with her. Then they didn't tolerate anesthesia at all and were born in rough shape. I feel cheated. DH says 6 kids is enough and in theory that sounds likely, but on the other hand, I don't feel ready to be done yet and doing something permanent to remove the possibility. I may change my mind and want to be done after the twins are home and I settle into a routine. I just don't know. I have managed to convince DH to hold off calling to get on the wait list for a vasectomy for now at least, although people keep pushing him to and insisting it needs to be done. One or the other of his parents keeps calling and asking about it, which I feel is completely out of line and none of their business.

Mamas I need advice! My 18 month old started showing signs he was ready to go down to 1 nap awhile ago..I finally bit the bullet about 4 days ago. Simultaneously he's been moodier...due to 18 month old tantrums starting or sleep regression I'm not sure but he's definitely a bit off. He's also really mamafied and clingy. Anyway, first day of transitioning went terribly because I made him stay up too late instead of gradually doing it. So I got smart and started with 11 am and we'v worked our way up to 11:30 but he's only sleeping ONE hour. With two naps we were sleeping 1 to 2 hours PER nap. So now he's so exhausted I have to put him to bed at 6 and we're still short about an hour of sleep every day. He's a pretty happy kid but I can tell he's tired- he's throwing way more tantrums. Part of me so badly wants to give up and just deal with struggling with 2 naps but part of me thinks I'm this far in, I should stick to it and fingers crossed his schedule works itself out BEFORE our move in 2 weeks when he'll be going through a whole new transition. Thoughts? What worked for you going from 2 naps to 1? How long did it take?

Lala. How long do you wait before you get him out of bed?
I have this babymonitor with build in music.
If she wakes up to soon i put the music on right away. And most of the time she sleeps right back in. If i do get her out of bed she's quite moody.
She various with sleeps though. Sometimes two short sleeps.
But mostly one sleep and it can be 1-3 hours. (Sometimes even more)
But if she doesn't end up in her own bed she sleeps less

It sounds like you are having a hard time processing the trauma of their birth which is totally understandable as it would have been nothing like you pictured. Also it would be a stressful time being separated most of the day from your babies. Do you have much support? I imagine having another baby with a normal pregnancy and birth would be healing but it is still very early. You need to let your body recover from the pregnancy and birth and also give yourself more time to process it all in your head. Do you have anyone you trust that you could talk to as just getting it out can help?
If you are not ready for permeant contraception then don't do it yet, just do use temporary methods you feel comfortable with. My friend has 6 kids too and was always being pressured into birth control, health practitioners seem to think you don't know what you are doing or something because they think no one wants that many kids! She didn't feel done after her 6th either but I think they decided it was enough and they haven't had anymore. I'm not saying that is the choice you should make, mearly just saying that sometimes you might never feel done. Anyway, you have plenty of time to decide, for now concentrate on those little ones getting stronger and being able to come home!

Well today I gave him 45 minutes and he just cries and cries. I have a white noise machine on the whole time he's sleeping otherwise he wouldn't ever sleep at all. Lol.

45 min is a long time! He doesn't go back to sleep then no.
What you also can try. Is upp the food and drink intake before you lay him down.
Maybe its a grow spurth! And he's a bit hungry.
Or just An emotional spurth. It will pass either way.
But guess parenting is just go with Your gut! No magic bullets.

Sorry you're dealing with that, lala! I wish I had advice, but by 18 months all of my kids had given up naps completely. :/ I have horrible sleepers. I do know that with my youngest, he was a grump for a week or two when he gave his up, but it evened out. Sleep transitions are always hard for him. He's a wreck for at least a week after daylight savings time switches twice a year. Hoping it's a quick phase for you, and he gets used to it!

OMG girlie at 18 months they weren't napping at all?! Well I have zero room to complain. I've always been so jealous of the people who have babies sleeping through the night by 2 or 3 months just on their own accord but I know I could have it worse. He did end up sleeping for 2 hours today and was SO much happier and had a normal bedtime of 7 so fingers crossed he keeps it up tomorrow. I can get a lot more done in 2 hours than 1. Lol
How's everyone feeling? I hate to complain but I'm just so uncomfortable already and with how much weight I'm gaining and how quickly, it's hard to believe I have 12 more weeks. I'm huffing and puffing everywhere, have terrible pelvic pain and when I roll out of bed every night to pee my whole body aches!

Thx :) As usual the tech had to work for it because she was squirming so much lol. I am due Oct 9, but since I am having a cesarean they take her a week early and since my mom's b-day was sept 30 (the friday b4 the Monday they would have done it) I asked if we could do it that day and he said yes :) I'll be 38w 5d that day.

Issues here to. Issues breathing, sleeping... just functioning in general. Everything is so much harder now and it feels like she is almost always way up in my rib cage. 10w & 2 days left for me... not sure how I am gonna make it. I have already had 2 cesareans. My OB said he would not have a problem with me trying to vbac BUT the hospital flat out refuses to allow a trial of labor in someone who has had two cesareans. A cesarean isn't so bad. A little harder to recover from (based solely on my one and only labor that was kinda a cake walk...) but it has it's perks. I get to lay their and let the doc do the work, lol, never go past my EDD, can schedule the birth to make sure DH is there, no running frantically to the hospital wondering if this is "it"... or at least not as much since baby is taken a bit early. He will already be in their so I can get the tubal right away... So on and so forth. I also get her out asap so I can feel safe with her in my arms asap (pregnancy does not feel safe to me). So... I am truly ok with a cesarean :)

Well that's good two- as long as you're happy. Funny, we're scared of what we aren't used to because c-sections and epidurals scare the crap out of me but I've also never experienced them. I'm all about letting babies cook as long as they need and inductions are scare me but I think I may lose my mind if I go past my edd this time... I was SO uncomfortable last time and given how I feel 12 weeks out, I'm nervous to say the least.

I hate c-sections because mine have all been bad experiences. Maybe if they'd been planned or not a frantic emergency or due to other complications that turned into emergencies I'd feel better about them. I'm fine with inductions and epidurals because I've had no issues with them. I'm hoping if we have another to make it to my induction day and to have a nice vaginal birth with or without epidural depending on how I feel. I'm not entirely certain of the hospital's policy on VBA2C, but my situation is a bit different in that I had a VBAC in between. My first was an emergency and my second was due to twins who went into distress while trying to stop labor. My doctor is fine with attempting it so long as there are no other concerns or complications. For the most part, my doctor and the hospital have the view that vaginal is the best option in most cases.

I had a vbac in between my first 2 (first loss) which is y my doc said he would be happy to let me try but the hospital is not quite so interested in it. It's not even an option. My cesareans were all planned though so, as u said, that likely makes a difference. My first was traumatic but not because of the surgery, because I lost my ability to trust docs for a long time. My first OB lied to me, threatened me.... or rather my child, etc. So all thr trauma originated directly from him. Even if it had to do with the surgery everything traced back to him. So not really the same kind of trauma u went through.

Two- your OB lied and threatened you? What the hell?
Basically I was told that my body was incapable of delivering naturally and that even attempting would kill my baby. He "diagnosed" me with cephalopelvic disproportion, an incomponent cervix (supposedly mine would not be capable of opening), and a hand full of other things without any medical proof, made me feel like some abusive parent for even considering a natural birth, etc. Then @ the cesarean it was "impossible" to get the needle in my spine so I had to be put to sleep, then they kept me so heavily drugged that my son was a day old before I ever saw him.... after the fact I was talking to another patient who said he had tried to do the same to her but she switched OBs which got me into wanting answers, requesting records, researching etc. That's how I learned it was all just a web of lies. But before I could do that I started running a high fever. He refused to accept that there was an infection present but I demanded antibiotics so he finally wrote me a script. Later, when we started TTC again I was on the hunt for a midwife to do a homebirth (illegal where I lived so I had to go "underground" to find one). In the meantime our mechanics daughter had him as an OB and he messed her up so bad she was left incapable of having more kids due to things being left inside her causing a massive infection. Then, I finally found a midwife and she was familiar with the OB who did it all and she shared horror stories of him breaking babies' necks during delivery, more stories of moms left infertile due to his care and a bunch more. So, as aweful as it was, things could have been soooooo much worse so I count my blessings on that much. My baby got here healthy and he didn't get the opportunity to leave me with a massive infection claiming my ability to have more thanks to me finally growing a pair big enough to question what he said and demanding the antibiotics. All things considered I guess I got the best outcome possible with him.... better would have been to switch docs altogether but as they say "hindsight is 20/20".

According to this ( Dr Hart - malpractice??? » Topix (http://m.topix.com/forum/city/hopkinsville-ky/T7PJEF54BQGC9E0R5) ) he was still practicing as of last year but don't know about now. Kentucky is retarded (not a word I use lightly) when it comes to medical law and protects the physician first and foremost. No matter how many times he gets sewed for malpractice he will not be forced to quit or lose his license because of it :(

I had similar but not as bad two. I got told I had mec in my waters and that was why I needed my labour augmented. My husband and Mw told me afterwards that it was a lie and in my notes the midwives documented clear liquor for my entire labour. After the drugs went up for the augmentation the pain went up, I ended up with an epi I didn't want and I didn't dilate fast enough and was exhausted from fighting for a natural birth and ended up with a c/s. I have had two beautiful hbacs since then.
And I'm not anti dr. I'm married to one. I just don't think Dr's believe in natural birth. They all see the worst of the worst and often interfere when they should leave well enough alone and only help when someone or their baby is sick. They have no patience for Mother Nature and interfere to try to hurry thins along and that in itself often causes a lot of complications that women are often then told that they are lucky their Dr's were there to fix, when they wouldn't have happened in the first place if they haven't interfered.
I hope you have a beautiful c/s two. Will you ask for family centers or maternal assisted or anything like that?

Not sure what u are asking in that last paragraph. I agree completely with the first one though. I learned a lot after my first birth and feel the same way. I can also see that at times intervention is warranted but as moms, not docs, its hard to know which camp u fit in. So, we trust our docs and believe they will do right by us but sometimes that isn't the case either due to physician inexperience, impatience, greed, etc.
My last section wasn't bad. I reacted negatively to the spinal so I dry heaved non-stop for several mins and passed out at one point for a few secs but was alert and back to normal by the time they pulled him out. They lowered the curtain so I could see him being born which is a memory I will always get to cherish and hoping they will do the same this time. The pain was much more manageable last time than the first time too which meant I could enjoy him more instead of being in constant pain and extremely weak like I was after my first (I lost a lot of blood during first birth. I looked like a ghost for like a month.) So, I am expecting this one to be similar, just a bit longer since I am getting the tubal ligation after.

Sorry two, auto correct mucked with my words. So family centred c/s means having things done like the drapes dropped so you can see your baby, you have already had that. It can also mean playing music of the mums choice when bubs is born and also putting things like the ecg dots on the mums back so that when the baby if given to her, she doesn't have wires everywhere. It can also mean that the dr gives the baby to the Mw, who just quickly checks by looking in a matter of seconds at the baby to see if it is breathing etc, and if it is, it is placed all wet on mums chest like a vaginal birth baby would be, for the mum to be the one to first touch and speak to. A friend of mine had a lotus c/s last year. So they kept the cord attached to the placenta and delivered them both together, so that the dad could cut the cord like in a vaginal birth and also so the baby gets delayed cord clamping, which is pretty cool :).
Maternal assisted c/s is where they glove up the mum, into sterile gloves and then when the dr had the babies head out of the mums body the mum is guided to reach down and lift out the baby and she then pulls it up onto her chest. I'm not sure how common that is where you are. Over here it is still something that women have to actively want and request and collaborate with the OB and hospital to get. It can sometimes be quite difficult to get, but it is becoming more popular as women request to be more involved in the c/s birth of their baby.
All of those things are options with different OB's where I live but still have to be negotiated. And they aren't for everyone. Some women I know couldn't imagine anything worse than someone handing them a wet slippery newborn who is covered in blood and mucous. Others wouldn't have it any other way. I think that as long as women know they have choices, then it doesn't matter what they choose as long as they get the choice.

The twins will be in our room for at least 6 months. I've always kept the kids in my room the first 6 months, but when we moved into our house DH set up the Pack n Play in our room for DD instead of her own room and she ended up in there for 15-ish months until DS3 came home from the hospital. He then ended up in there until he was 14 months old, moving out when DD got her big girl furniture and he could have the crib.

Same Bella..my first slept with me until 9 or 10 months. My second though, could NOT handle sleeping with me and was way to big for the bassinet so he transitioned way earlier than I would have liked at 4 months- I was a nervous wreck but since he was still waking up 3 times per night I saw plenty of him and it all worked out but still..I'm hoping this one will be more like 6 months.

I am hoping to NOT have to cosleep with this one! I had to with my youngest or I would never have gotten ANY sleep BUT I don't rest well when baby is in bed with me. I mean I am ok if baby is sleeping in/on a boppy with their feet towards me but that's different. I am a heavy sleeper and I roll and flip a lot so I am always scared I will hurt the baby so I stay in this constant state of awareness so while I may be getting a bit of sleep I end up getting next to no actual rest. A cradle next to the bed, in the crib or alone with baby in a BIG/adult bedd with boppy (no room for a 3rd person) I am ok but outside of that I am too worried/paranoid to relax.

Bed sharing is not for me. I like my own adult space and hate if one of the kids gets up early and crawls in our bed. I usually kick them out back to their own beds. We have a super squishy TempurPedic Cloud Luxe mattress also, so it would not be safe at all. Then there is DH who rolls and sprawls all over the place. We'd have a squished and suffocated baby in no time!

Well I'm not sure I can be helpful, but I have the exact same thing. I have found using a support around my hips helpful. I wear a piece of material tied around my hips or I wear a big tubigrip for extra support. I think the pain is from over stretched ligaments due to a big uterus and also from a pelvis that is a bit misaligned.

I've been co-sleeping with one kid or another for the last 16 years straight. No joke. :) Seems like just as one kid outgrows is, the next one pops in. I'm pretty psyched to be on the home stretch of that. I think an even 20 years will be enough. lol! Honestly? I never intended to co-sleep at all. My kids just never sleep well unless they're in the bed with me when they're little, so it' been the only way to get any sleep around here.
Cute! Where are you again girlie? I'm in Sac and this week of nothing but 100's is really getting to me. I can't take the kids anywhere and we're packing and doing projects for our move and the heat is making it miserable.
I'm near San Jose. We're up against the mountains, so all of the heat form the south bay nestles in our town. :/ Really fun. Someone suggested I go to the pool the other day. I just laughed at her. The struggle of trying to get me and three kids to the pool across town--let along trying squish myself into a bathing suit right now!--would probably send me into labor. Ever tried to put a walrus into a wet suit? ;)

So, I have been diagnosed with idiopathic polyhydramnios and told I am now at increased risk for stillbirth (exactly what a pregnant woman with my history needs to hear). I will now be monitored even more closely and will be asking my OB on Wednesday about the possibility of early delivery to prevent stillbirth. It's such a shitty (pardon my french) place to be stuck in because either way feels risky. Hopefully my OB will be sympathetic to our fears, take them seriously and together we can plan out the best course of action. I don't want her born prematurely but it beats the hell out of the alternative :( On a good note she is doing well as far as we can tell and is weighing 3 lbs 11 oz now and is soooooo cute!

I've had polyhydramnios with four of my pregnancies. No one has ever told me it meant a risk for stillbirth. The only thing I was ever told was that it's a sign of diabetes and can also be a sign of swallowing problems, kidney problems, or birth defect with baby.

Thanks ladies. Due to the excess fluid levels, they are going to do twice weekly Non Stress Tests (NSTs; unless I see the specialist that week then I will only have 1) and a weekly ultrasound to check fluid levels. Measuring 3.5 weeks ahead today. Last time I was only measuring 1 week ahead... OB says the biggest concern is that if fluid levels get too high my body could think I am term and kick start labor. If my water breaks there is the risk of cord prolapse. So, that is what I have to worry about. He said we are already planning to deliver early (before 39 weeks.... I will be 38 weeks and 4 days I believe) so as long as the NSTs look good and she looks good during ultrasound that we are going to try to make it to then. I don't want her born any sooner than necessary for her safety and it seems like he is taking my concerns seriously and keeping a close eye on her so, for now at least, I am satisfied with the plan.
Things just got a lot more complicated though. DH's truck is down until we get the $1000 to replace the gas tank, has been for a month or so now. And as of yesterday my car is scap metal. DH is fine, thank God, but a driver pulled out in front of him and my car is totalled. Thank God for great friends. My best friend not only took me to the scene so I could be there for Hubby but has agreed to taxi me to my million appointments until we either get a rental (if other driver's ins will pay for one) or we get the truck fixed which is planned for early next month when we will finally have all the money. Things could have been so much worse so I am oddly thankful despite losing my car. The payments were nuts but I loved that car lol. Dh thought I was going to be mad at him but I was just glad nobody got any serious injuries (minor cuts and scrapes for both drivers and both drivers were alone in the vehicles).

I have been so absent due to our move. Things have been crazy over here. Moving kids into the same room has proven to result in a loss of sleep, oldest got a super high fever, work has been nuts and we've had no internet and for the last two days no fun. Oy! Sounds like a lot has happened here.
Congrats Bunny on bringing the twins home! Keep us all updated. What a huge relief.
Two- I'm devastated for you..the last thing you would want to worry about is the health of that baby. What is this syndrome or disease? I would almost want her out now but it sounds like you and your doctor have come up with a good plan. Sorry you're dealing with all of the stress. Keep us psoted on how she is doing. As far as HR, not sure but they said that as long as it pops right back up that it was nothing to worry about.
Polyhydramnios is often a warning sign of a problem (chromosomes, health issues, gest diabetes, etc.) Particularly when it is moderate or severe. But in my case (and many others' when mild) it's ideopathic (no known cause). Basically it means that, for whatever reason, my amnio water levels are higher than they should be.
Had an appointment today and my amnio levels increased a bit so now I have to see the specialist AND my regular OB weekly. On a good note, she is still doing great and getting so chubby! I love her chubby cheeks :D So cute! She was not very happy about being bothered and we even got a peek at her crying, lol.

Yup, sure do :D I forgot to mention she is still head down... Do babies typically go head down and stay that way this early? My oldest flipped like a week before birth and my youngest flipped around 36'ish weeks. She has been head down for at least 2 weeks now and I am only 32.5 weeks. I feel bad for her. She has the hiccups right now and poor baby keeps hitting my pubic bone with every hiccup.

My babies go head down really early and stay that way until birth.
On another note, anyone have any advice for combining rooms for siblings? My 20 month old and 6 year old are supposed to be sharing a room so little one has her room until she's sleeing well through the night plus my oldest has been dying to share a room with him BUT it isn't going well. Suddenly he's waking up at 5:30 probably seeing her and wanting to play. He has recently had to go down to one nap because of her school schedule so he's definitely losing sleep and for awhile I was giving him a super early morning nap to help compensate but today decided that was probably confusing matters even more. My husband just made bunk beds for them and while he made it so that he can't climb up I'm worried about him dealing with one more change ( lack of a crib). That all being said I want to make the switch now because what I definitely don't want is to deal with sleep training a 6 month old and dealing with a confused 2 year old who isn't sleeping well thereby not letting his sister sleep well either. Anyway, all of that was to ask, has anyone successfully got their two kiddos sleeping in the same room? How long did it take? I'm feeling really inpatient and I think step one is to let go of expectations and simply stick to a routine and eventually they will follow but in the meantime....cranky tired kids suck!
lala22
August 17th, 2016, 01:23 PM
I should add, my oldest just had a terrible fever so we had her sleep in the other room and 20 month old slept almost 13 hours from 6 to 6:45 plus took a 2 plus hour nap so obviously her presence is likely the culprit of his early morning wake up.
twointow83
August 17th, 2016, 01:30 PM
Have you considered blackout curtains? Maybe having it completely dark will help him not wake so early. My two sleep in the same room, in the same bed, and if my oldest wakes first he lets my youngest sleep but that is not mutual lol. My kids are just early risers. Different bed times, curtains, ect. don't hep them sleep any longer so I am not a huge help. I just go with it mostly BUT there is a rule in our house, mostly to keep them from terrorizing my house first thing in the AM, that they are not allowed to come out of their room except to use the RR until a certain time. Plus it gives me a chance to really wake up before starting the daily grind on weekends.
twointow83
August 17th, 2016, 01:31 PM
Having it so that he can't see her may also help (thus the curtains and you already have a bunk bed going for you. If you find he needs to be in a crib still you could also try to covert it to a loft bed with crib underneath...

Two we just installed a black out film so in combination with blinds and curtains it is sooo dark in there. Lol. But you have a point if she is up on the top bunk he won't be able to see her- that could be in our favor. I just have such light sleepers in the morning hours so once it hits 5 am neither are good about falling back asleep. I was torn about putting him in a big bed during all of these transitions but maybe I just need to rip off the band aid and see if it helps or at least doesn't hinder and then reevaluate from there. How old are your two that sleep together two?

Mine are 10 & 6. They have been sleeping together since my youngest got out of the crib around 3... I think? At the beginning they each has there own bed but they slept together on one twin size anyway. Finally, we just broke down and bought them a full to share. My oldest is beginning to ask for his own bed so we may be back to two twins before too long, though.

Wish I had advice but I'm another who couldn't train sleepers for the life of me. Let me know if you hit on any great ideas, though! We'd love to transition our 4 year old and 6 year old into the same room. The 4 year old has just in the last 6 months started sleeping semi-well. I say semi as he only sleeps 8hours, but at least he's not up for hours in the middle of the night as often now! But he and 6 yo are both light sleepers, so we've hesitated. I'm envisioning no sleep for anyone.

We are adding on a bed and bathroom because my boys won't share a room. I often wonder why because hardly anyone stays in their own bed all night. I had them going to bed and staying in the bed really well after I found out I was pregnant but that didn't last. I retried my strategy and it failed! Too late now to try anything-ugh!!!

I agree! My guys have never been great sleepers, and each child seems to be a bit worse. Maybe because I'm more tired? lol!
Went to the midwife today and as she's measuring me she asks, "Uh, how big was your biggest baby?" I told her eight and half pounds, and she said, "Yay, this one's gonna be a lot bigger." :O She scheduled an ultrasound for Monday to check the size, because I am not a big lady. Okay, I'm BIG right now, but I'm only 5'2". Nervous! I guess if they're too worried about the baby being too big, I'd rather schedule a c section now that have a surprise one while in labor. But I was really hoping for a nice petite little lady this time around.

My midwife won't do an ultrasound to check size..I've given birth to a 10 lber so at this point they don't want to freak anyone out unnecessarily however, I can tell she is a bit concerned because she keeps asking me if I feel as big as I did last time. Lol. I never measured big so no way for them to tell really. I really ca't imagine this little girl will be bigger than 10 lbs though.
What do your kids do when they wake up in the middle of the night? Geez I would be driven batty. So 2 nights ago little man woke my eldest at 530 am and then she was sooo exhausted that last night when he yelled for 1.5 hours trying to get a rise out of her we finally put her in what will be the baby's room and both immediately slept and woke up at 6:30. So, tonight I made sure he was actually asleep and he fell asleep at 6:45, brought her in at 7 (even though she seriously would have gone to bed at 5 if I let her) ..we tried kind of blocking his view with toys and blankets that haven't been unpacked so fingers crossed no 5:30 wake up tomorrow.

Not sure If that question was for me but, my boys tend to go back to sleep if it's still dark and not raining (my oldest has weather anxiety) but tend to get up with the sun. I just put them in bed early, they don't like it but they know it's because they wake up too blasted early.

Your kids go to sleep at 7?! So jealous! I can't get mine down until 9 or 10pm. My 6yo will usually sleep at least til 7am, unless he wakes up with a nightmare or something—then he'll be up for a couple of hours in the night needing a parent with him. My 4yo is autistic, so his sleep is terrible. He almost never sleeps more than 8 hours total. He is often up at 2 or 3am...and is usually just up and awake then. Never goes back to sleep. So, yeah, some days he only sleeps 4 hours. No nap either. He's done that to me twice this week. I'm dyin'. lol!

Bunny, I can take it. Lol. My good friend just told me how much her kids are sleeping and even with this crappy transition/phase mien are still sleeping more so I guess I need to shut up. Today my youngest woke at 5:20, again way out of the norm and we had his sister's bday party so instead of doing one nap we put him down at 8:30 and he slept 1.5 hours and then again after the party at 1 he slept almost 2 hours! Our oldest came home and slept 2 hours too. They're obviously not sleeping enough at night right now but as they say, this too shall pass.

I put all my kids down at 9 pm. The oldest two sleep until 8 am and the two middles sleep until anywhere between 10:00 and noon. None of them really nap much at all though, just sleep at night. So far the twins go to bed at 11-ish, wake up to eat between 3-4, and then sleep until 7-8. In a few weeks I think they'll be sleeping through the night like all my other kids did.

No, he can't be up on his own yet. Maybe as he gets older, but he'd just cry if he was alone. I can usually get him to stay in bed with the lights off until the sun comes up, but he's wide awake babbling to me and wanting to cuddle/tickle the whole time. Normally—I wouldn't mind the cuddle fest...but at 3am I'm kind grumpy about it. :/ We're trying to find the right time to transition him to sleeping upstairs with dh when the baby comes. (He has a separate room to sleep in just so one of us can get sleep at least.) Hope it's soon! His sleep has gotten better...some nights he does sleep a full 8 hours without waking...so I have hope one day he'll sleep something close to normal.
Ultrasound was fun today! So exciting to see chubby cheeks and long hair already! Baby is measuring big but not ginormous yet. She's already weighing in at 6 lbs today (34 weeks), so she won't be a tiny thing. But they said it's within the normal range, just near the top. So, we'll check in again in a few weeks, and if she's getting really big, induce a bit early. My midwife said she wouldn't want anything bigger than 9 lbs for my frame...just worried it would cause complications. But I'm all for a slightly early delivery!
Which of course, means i need to kick it into high gear getting ready for baby now.
Oh, and another joy? We found mold growing in our walls today. Waaaa! So, looks like we'll have to deal with mold removal. In my bedroom. Gah! Trying to figure to the best time to do it. I SO do not want to deliver a baby while living in a construction zone but it would be so much better to get it done before she comes. And OMG, it's going to be expensive.

Yuck girlie that is TERRIBLE. What awful timing. I'm over here stressing out because my older kids have a room in chaos and the nursery isn't even close to assembled, no clothes in the drawers or anything:/ I can't even imagine going trough construction right now.

Mold removal is happening next week. They said they could do it with a green product. Hope it goes okay! So nervous. I wish I could afford to just move the family to a hotel for a few days, but we're so strapped right now.
How's everyone else doing?

I'm puddling along. Belly is massive and my diastasis is massive. My stomach muscles are between 1.5-2 hands width apart. My belly really stings at times. I'm wrapping my belly to try to add support and looking into my options for post partum to help this heal.
I still have 8-9 weeks till I expect this baby to be born. Not long, but also so far away!

Sorry girlie. I'm surprised your home owners doesn't cover some of this? You may want to double check- they may help with hotel costs.
I'm ok too...feeling really, really overwhelmed. My kids have pretty much been sick non stop for 4 weeks which is so rare or this house and I'm worried having a newborn right when it starts to cool down with two little ones is going to mean more germs to worry about. I'm tired of projects around the house, the nursery is just a jumbled mess, I'm exhausted and have had THE WORST round ligament pain- barely could walk:/ It seems to be easing up but I'm just pooped and yet 45 days to my due date has me completely panicking! How will I handle two under two and make time for my 6 year old and her school and activities? How will we go do anything fun without it being super stressful? I know people do it and do it just fine...just feeling way over my head right now. Anyway, rant over...how is everyone else?

Oh ouch! So sorry! I've got good width between my muscles too, but not quite that bad. I sympathize!

Oh, two under two sounds like a massive challenge! Hugs!
I'm so overwhelmed too. I just found out my college kid, who doesn't yet drive, has a massively full schedule this fall...and school starts the week I'm due. Timing, right? No idea how we're going to get him to his school, 1st grader to his school, and take care of 4 year old. Oh, and get me to the hospital. I'm at the point where I'm thinking we just need to teach the kids to call for an uber. lol! I'm having panic attacks imagining all the kids stuck at schools as I go into labor and no one to pick them all up. I'm with you on having no idea how we're going to make this work. But... 5 weeks and counting, so we'll figure it out.

Girlie that sounds like a lot. I'm working really hard and trying to build a network of moms but it's SO hard. We're all so busy, even just finding time to meet moms is challenging. I just found a moms group though so am working on getting involved there. It takes a village and I want to find my village! Lol.
As I'm buried underneath the biggest to do list all I can think and wonder is maybe it would be easier if our biggest concern was hunting and gathering our food. LOL

Everything okay here. I have been told to keep off my feet as much as possible until at least 35 weeks (I'll be 35 weeks on Sunday) to try to keep her in as I've started to dilate. My body has gotten REALLY weird the last few days, including the fact that for some reason it's cleaning out my bowels (sorry for the TMI) for the last 16'ish hours... I've "gone" like a dozen times :( So, I don't know if my body is trying to give me a heads up that something is happening or if it's just being annoying. Had a scan a couple days ago and she is 5 lbs 7 oz and my fluid levels are rising slowly thankfully, though my fundal height has passed the 40 week mark. Trying to speed through school work so it's all done when she gets here so I stay pretty busy between that, my million appointments a week and taking care of the boys when they get home from school. Can't wait until Sunday though. My poor house looks AWFUL! I CAN'T clean right now and DH HATES to clean so my poor house is soooo messy. I can't wait until I can clean it up... not that I particularly love to clean either but I can't stand my house being this messy. Especially with a baby coming in under 30 days(28 to be exact)!

39 weeks today! Really need her to come out tonight! Kind of scared I'll be overdue since I'm not feeling much. 1cm dilated and around 50-70% effaced. My other kids were 5 and 8 days early. Long weekend here so it would be perfect for her to come NOW!

Yup, it's driving me bonkers. But 35 weeks is just a few days away so I am *trying* my darndest to push it out of my mind by focusing on my school work and such. I sometimes wonder if I am going to make it to the 29th... I've been having contractions for hours now... and sharp V pains. They aren't regular so I don't think it's the real deal but they are more frequent than they have ever been, and more uncomfortable. They checked me last week and I was 1 cm and I NEVER dilated with the boys. I was closed up tight as a drum the day they were both born so it makes me feel like she is in a hurry to get here. I still have sooo much to do b4 she does though. Cleaning, obviously, making freezer meals so my kids don't have to live on Ramen and bologna sandwiches while I recover (DH hates cooking too lol, this last week hasn't been the healthiest meal prep :/ and when he DOES cook he makes a TON so we can do leftovers the next day so he doesn't have to cook again lol), finishing organizing the baby stuff, etc. on top of finishing my school work asap. 3 weeks into the term and I am *nearly* done with one class (I still have 2 exams, a quiz and 3 papers to do) and still have most of another class to go. Feels like I am not gonna make it but I am working my butt off trying.

DH can cook. He just works all day and then is tired when he gets home and doesn't WANT to cook. I've spent the last 11.5 years teaching him to cook. I have a long to do list too...and I'm just soo exhausted and lacking energy that I'm getting frustrated because I'm moving so slowly. 34 weeks in and none of this feels real still. Is that normal? Lol. It's really hard to wrap my head around a baby being here in 6 weeks...like REALLY hard.

I like zucchini slice for a simple freezer meal. You can cut it into portions before freezing and it is great for a breast feeding mum to grab out of the freezer and have with one hand.

I got a lot of recipes off pinterest. I am going to be making things like lasagna, chicken dishes... stuff that takes awhile to prep. Not bothering with quick, easy stuff. DH can just cook those. I figure if it'll take longer to re-heat than to make then it's not worth freezing.

Two – you're almost there! I'm so with you on the dirty house thing... my back is in such pain at this point that I can't cook or clean right if my life depended on it. The mess and clutter is driving me batty. Hugs and hope you make it!!
Welcome, bogburglarbran! Congrats on the upcoming baby boy!
I'm super lucky to have DoorDash in our area—so we can order delivery from like 300 different restaurants. That's my meal plan for when baby gets here. Ha! It's pretty much how we've been staying alive the past few weeks. My dh does not cook... at least not anything *I* would want to eat. He's an extreme health nut and eats really weird food... like seaweed noodles with kale and dairy-free cheese. (blech) I'll stick with take-out.
Finally got the mold removed! (yay!!) Now I'm currently washing EVERY piece of clothing we own to get mold spores off. I'm at 20 loads of laundry in the last week and counting. So. Tired. I've started having a few real contractions here and there...eek! Homes stretch... at 36 weeks now! Of course both little kids are sick with "beginning of school" colds, I feel like I'm coming down with it, and neither child has slept a full night in the last week. Dh and I are both exhausted. Hoping we can get at least a few days of rest and good sleep before baby comes. I can't imagine going to labor this tired.

dpike- exactly, sometimes I forget too..if it wasn't for my long to do list and being uncomfortable I think I would really forget. I also don't remember being this tired or feeling in such awe that there was a baby coming. Maybe because this wasn't planned and/or was so soon after our last? Not sure...

Don't think pot pies would be an issue to freeze, unfortunately not everyone here will eat pot pies though. As for as chicken meals.. nothing fancy. Probably my chicken taco chilli, which is usually made in the crockpot but DH doesn't wake up early enough and I won't feel like dealing with it after so I'll make it and freeze it, chicken enchiladas, BBQ pulled chicken, etc. I went grocery shopping tonight. I had planned an elaborate menu but nah... stick with what I know we like. The kids LOVE lasagna, baked spaghetti and baked zitti so I'll be making that, among other things. I kinda decided I have soooo much on my plate right now and time is running thin so I am just gonna keep it simple.

Girlie- real contractions? Is that normal for you at 36 weeks? Yeah, I had them with my last baby too. They went on for a couple of weeks, so I'm not too surprised. They're just one or two here and there. Nothing to really indicate labor, just that I need to slow down and rest a bit. This is my 6th pregnancy (two losses), so at my age my body is just over it. lol

Tessa grace was born this morning at 7:45 am. 5 pounds 2 ounces and 19 inches long. Labor started at 1:30, got to hospital at 6 am. I wanted a natural birth (2nd child was natural but not first) but hospital, dr and nurses keep asking and i just gave in. I was 6 cm and 90% effaced when I arrived so was probably pretty close when they have me the epi. Looking back I should have sucked it up but whatever, we got our girl. All is going great and we may be going home tomorrow. My other kids were mid 6 pounds so I was shocked she was so little.

Two nights ago I woke up with contractions that wouldn't let up for an hour mixed with the most awful menstrual like cramps. I never felt like this so I'm wondering if we'll go early? A couple nights ago I had some pretty regular contractions also but they fizzled after an hour or so and nothing since :/
I am swelling EVERYWHERE. Horribly, painfully swollen. BUT I still have to get stuff done so I power through. So hard to do when my legs feel like they are going to burst with every step but it is what it is. The swelling isn't going anywhere and niether are the tasks that need done. Part of me hopes that the specialist will want to bump up d-day when he sees how bad the swelling is tomorrow. The absolute earliest it would happen is next Monday (since I won't see my reg OB till Friday) and I will be 37+1 then so.... I really, really hope he wants to bump it up.

Very pretty. Baby J is sleeping in our room so our nursery is more of a big closet with storage lol. All her clothes are hanging up or in dressers in there along with her swing and other gear.
Had my specialist appt yesterday. Still so incredibly swollen (very painful) and my BP is creeping up but not in PE range yet with no protien in my urine. Appearantly, I have an amnio leak and my fluids have dropped rapidly and into normal range (from 29.94 last time to either 18 or 22 this time as she measured twice). I knew something was different and had even told my best friend on the way there that I thought my fluid levels would be lower because my stomach feels different and I can feel her so much easier. She is still breech, not that it matters since I will have a c/s either way. I have reached the point that I am just ready to have her. They won't take her yet but I am very ready for her as soon as she is ready and willing. I am willing time to hurry up till the 29th (scheduled c/s day). Still have 15 days though and with the pain from swelling it feels like an eternity away :(

Honestly, I am not big on early eviction either (except that they always schedule my c/s b4 40 weeks) but I was uncomfortable in previous pregnancies but never true pain. By the end of the day my legs and ankles are so big that my ankle is wider than the widest part of my feet. I have excess skin from losing a ton of weight and the skin on my belly is swollen to 4+ times it's normal size, weighs about 10 pounds all by itself, and is painfully tender. My lady bits are so swollen that DH and I couldn't do anything if we wanted to... etc. Basically from the belly button down I am swollen plus my face is getting puffier too. All that mixed with a climbing BP and an amnio leak and I am just ready to have her here where I know she is safe in my arms and just be done with all this pregnancy crap. I will be term in 4 days too so it's not as if she would be in any danger of prematurity issues at that point. I'm just ready. The thought of being cut open is always a painful prospect but compared to what I am dealing with now it doesn't seem all that bad. It seems like welcome relief. Esp since I can take pain meds to manage THAT pain and I can't do or take anything right now that helps. Heat and cold don't touch it, tylenol might as well be tic-tacs... I wish there was something but nothing works. My specialist's office says to elevate my legs at least 20 mins a day. Last night my legs were propped on pillows for more than 2 hours with absolutely zero change in swelling or pain levels. Even after being off them all night they are still uncomfortably swollen this am and as soon as I get out of bed to get to work on the house they will begin swelling back up. It's all up to her and my doc though. Lord knows I can't do anything to get her here unless she is ready or unless the doc decides to take her.

Ugh two elevating my feet rarely works either except at least they're better when I wake up in the morning. I agree, I think at this point you two would be much better off together with her outside the womb. Would your doctor move things up since you are term at this point?

I don't know. I see my reg OB on Friday and I plan to ask if he would feel comfortable bumping things up AT ALL... even a few days is a few days less I have to suffer. If he says he will do it next week it will be a miracle so I am just hoping for maybe the Monday b4 the date we have planned. I'd be 38+1 on that Monday. Been having persistent but irregular contractions today... or at least they seem irregular.... I haven't been timing them as I've been busy making crib sheets. Either way I don't think anything will come of them. They always fizzle out.

I don't know if they could get me in today. I have an appointment tomorrow though. I may call and see if they could move my appt to today but it's pretty unlikely as this seems to be his busy time. I have a friend who is just a few weeks preg and called to be seen because she was bleeding and had to wait 3 days to see him. Plus the last 2 weeks he has been rushed away for emergency delivery when I was there. The first time I didn't get to see him and the second he got back JUST as I was finishing up my NST so I almost didn't get to see him again.

Oh, so cute!! I wish I had another room for a nursery, but she's got her own "corner" of our room at least. :) I've moved out almost all of my bedroom furniture to make room for baby stuff. Which is fine. Baby stuff is cuter than what I had anyway. lol! I've promised myself all new furniture once we move in a year of two and she gets her own room. My first "no kids will wreck this stuff" furniture ever! These are the things I'm looking forward to knowing this is my last baby.
Ugh, Two, I'm so sorry you're in so much pain! Hugs! I hope they take her early for you. That BP is high...maybe a great way to convince them?
I'm so done, too. My back aches like crazy every evening...I'm just freaking huge, and there's no way to comfortably carry this much weight in front. All I can do is sit at my desk (in intervals--terrible for work!) and sit on the couch. And the contractions are wearing me out! I'm getting them all day long, just irregular. A few here then a break then a few there. But by the end of the day, I'm just exhausted. I've got another ultrasound to check on size and NST for Monday. 15 days left! (You know, not that I'm counting every hour. ha!)
Full moon is tomorrow...labor anyone? ;)

Girlie, 15 days?! I'm at 26 which feels so soon and yet this is when times slows to a hault. I still need to wash some baby clothes and meal prep but anytime after next week would be just fine. Lol. I am so uncomfortable and yet so sad this is my last pregnancy. I knew I would be but I hope it doesn't become overwhelming. Two, how did the doc appt go? Where is everyone else? Well.. I didn't actually make it to the appointment :/ I got up yesterday having chest pains and with my BP up DH and I decided it was better to be safe than sorry so I went to the ER. I ended up getting admitted due to an abnormal test result and spent the night in the hospital. I did see my OB though and even with my high BP he didn't seem to be inclined to bump things up at all :( I didn't actually get to ask him since the priority was finding out if the chest pain was a bad sign or not but he just kept saying "not much longer now". And of course being in bed for over 24 hours (with the exception of the short trip to the ER) my legs and everything had gotten soooo much better so they didn't help my cause either. They are good and swollen again now though *sigh* I just keep telling myself only X amount of time left (for example, as of right now I am 12 days and 12 hours away from holding her). I am literally counting the hours at this point lol. Kinda hoping for the "magic" of the full moon to help me out but I don't think it's gonna happen so the countdown continues.
I managed to finish the sheets I needed to make before landing in the hospital so basically everything is ready, we just need her to make it all complete :)

Oh, Two - not fair! So sorry they won't bump it up. Hope the next few days aren't too miserable for you.
I've been having strong contractions all day---just only like two an hour. ha! And, possible TMI, but omg the hemorrhoid/constipation situation is insane right now. Way too much pressure happening in that area of my body. I'm sitting on a boppy right now...only way I can handle sitting. I'm not looking forward to what things ill look like after delivery and pushing. Eek!
We're transitioning my 4 year old out of my bed and into one with Daddy upstairs tonight. (Dh is gonna sleep separately with him for awhile so that at least one of us can sleep at a time despite our waking brood.) Wish me luck!!

You aren't alone. I have a mega-roid too (like I said... basically everything below my belly button). Doc(specialist) says I just have to tolerate it till she is born because the pressure won't let it go away, even with prep-h. Hopefully time passes quickly for all of that are ready to meet our LOs... like yesterday ;)

Oh god I've never had hemorrhoids- they sound awful though. I was super constipated for a good week and then almost too loose..bodies do the weirdest things while pregnant. Literally every single person comments on how small I am which makes me feel like this baby will weigh far less than my last - very comforting. I just hope it doesn't mean I go past my edd.

Well, 8 days left and I have reached the point that I can't call anyone without them asking if I am in labor. Funny and annoying at the same time. My swelling is marginally better... very marginal but improvement is improvement. Decided to have a little solo dance party tonight to see if I could get things moving as I have been having quite painful but completely irregular contractions all day, doesn't seem to have made a difference though with the exception of hyping her up BIG TIME, lol. Guess she wants to join in on the fun lol. On one hand when I think "8 days" it seems like an eternity but when I think about it in terms like "I only have one more appt with my reg OB and one more with my specialist and then she will be here" or "this weekend will be our last weekend before she is born", etc. it seems like it's right around the corner so I I am trying to think that way instead of by how many days are left. Though, it's so stinking cute when my youngest tells me "Mommy! ____ more days until sissy gets here and I am a big brother!!" He loves counting down so it has become a daily routine :) He is so proud of himself being able to count down and the fact that he finally will be a big brother! He and DH "argue" all the time about it. DH will say "___ more days until MY Juliann is here" and my youngest will counter "NO! ___ more days until MY Juliann is here!!" Trying to savor little moments like that as it makes the rest of the uncomfortable stuff more tolerable and I know this is our very last pregnancy so I'll never get to experience it again. VERY, VERY ready to be done... but trying to enjoy it while it is here. All day today I keep thinking "8 more days until I never have to think about conception, contraception or pregnancy EVER again" and I can't wait. That fact comes in a close second to the fact that we'll FINALLY have her here and in our arms :)
So how is everyone else doing? How close are all of you to your EDD or planned delivery day?

How is everyone? 21 days to go over here and feeling it. I'm done with all of my meal prep and I have some baby clothes on the way as I was short on 0-3 month clothing, go figure and really, everything is done and yet I still feel unsettled..so irritating.

I did that. Not the going past the DD thing but psyching myself out. She had us so scared she would come TOO early that I thought that as soon as I went to business as usual she'd come. But she has decided she is no longer eager to come out. I think that is part of why 8 days feels like forever.

Speaking of sleep. .. anyone else having the issue I am? To explain, when upright my tummy feel huge but normal. But when I lay down on my side, particularly if I remain in that position for awhile, when I roll over or get up it feels as though someone has filled my belly with lead that has settled to whatever side I was l laying on. Sometimes rolling over is uncomfortable, sometimes it's downright painful. Anyone else or just me?

Well, I passed that point 2 days ago at least. My first recorded high BP was the 13th. She isn't budging, lol. Dh and I DTD last night in hopes of getting something started but nope. Tuesday she was head-down again but I am wondering if she flipped again. She has a watery wonderland in there so she has more room to move than babies usually do at this point. If she is breech again there is nothing putting pressure on my cervix so nothing is likely to happen. Tried to check my cervix for changes yesterday and it's so high I can't reach it so no clues there either.

Hi all, two sorry to hear of all of your challenges and lala, sounds like your not far away from me due date wise. I'm 36+3-4 or something.
I'm also struggling with the turning over in bed. It's a nightmare really. When I wake up in the morning, the first few steps are just so painful as my pelvis realigns itself with gravity. Ouch!
As for me, I don't think I will go before 40-41 weeks really. I have plenty left to do tho, so I don't really wants go early. I have photos next Monday and the Sunday after I have a mother blessing when I will be 38 weeks. I look forward to getting henna on my belly and some love from my community. They are really lovely, so I look forward to it all. I'm having a lot of pain too and swelling, but not the same as you two. Just my feet and my face is puffy first thing in the morning. My pelvis is pretty unstable, but I will survive. I have been taking a couple of panadiene most nights or else sleep is pretty much not occurring because the sciatic pain and hip pain can be overwhelming. Yet despite it all, I know this is my last time, and so I am doing my best to savor it all. It doesn't always work, I def have some, 'I'm so done' moments, but for the most part I am ok. Looking forward to finding out babies gender at birth too. Anyway, bed time for me. Love to you all and blessings for your births.

I'm in "any day now" territory! Eek! Official "due date" is next Saturday, so I'm guessing I've got a few days left...but I'm prepared to run for hospital any time. :) I've usually delivered right around the due date. Just praying she doesn't go something like two weeks over—I'm in so much pain everywhere! I'm with you all on not being able to turn over in bed... I can barely move anywhere. Just walking across the living room is killin' me. Back pain, pelvis pressure, contractions. So ready to be done. At my last appt. they said she's not big enough to warrant inducing, so that's a relief and a bummer. lol! I kinda just wanted it over with, but hopefully it'll mean an easier delivery.

I was 5 days early the first time and 8 days late the second time so no telling with this one. Though they do say boys are more likely to go past due dates and for me at least that holds true so I'm hoping since I was early with my girl, I will be this time too! Since it's the last, I'm trying to savior it all too but dang am I uncomfortable. One of my more feisty midwives offered to strip my membranes at 39 weeks but I don't want to mess with the way my body naturally does things since my labors are relatively easy so I'll be waiting anxiously for the big moment. Just really hoping labor starts at home with husband home.

Looks like I am not gonna make it to the 29th, lol. Saw my OB yesterday and my BP was 159/90 something. He said I was getting very close to the 160/? (I can't remember) mark and that's when things start getting sticky BP-wise, so he bumped the section up to Monday. I am BEYOND thrilled this is almost over ("this" being the swelling, stress and other bad parts of pregnancy) and that I will have her in my arms in 2 days!! It made everything VERY real though lol. I have been doing odds and ends things that needed to get done but thought I still had more time... After he bumped it up I came home and we were working like crazy ppl to get stuff done lol. Managed to get A LOT accomplished in on evening though so that was cool. Now all I have to worry about is the normal, everyday upkeep (sweeping, mopping, dishes, laundry, etc.) and making sure I have everything I'll need for the hospital packed and ready to go. EEEKKK!!! 48 hours from now I will be being prepped for her arrival!!!!!

She arrived on Friday afternoon! My water broken later Thurs night but no contractions. I spent a long night in the hospital before the finally did an epidural and Pitocin the next day at noon, which got things moving. She was born at 3:30 that afternoon. Perfect little thing! I'm in love. :) I've been slow to post because I've unfortunately had some bad reaction to the epidural...spinal puncture and fluid leaking, causing a "dural" headache/ears ringing/dizzy. I'm on bed rest right now for a couple more days to see if it clears up on its own. If not, back to the hospital I go for a blood patch. Would prefer to avoid that. Ugh. My poor little boys have had it rough this weekend--they really don't get why mommy can't be around the noise. My 4 year old has regressed into all kinds of autism symptoms, but hopefully he'll settle into a new normal soon. Luckily my mom lives nearby so she's been here everyday helping. Thank God for her! Congrats, Two! She's so beautiful!! Hope you're both doing well, and you're recovering quickly.
Charlotte came 8 days early... not too bad, but a surprise since all of my others have been a couple of days late. But I was ready to pop, so no complaints here! I did go in for the blood patch on Tues. Just could not take the headache anymore...it kept getting worse and worse. So glad I did. I felt better immediately. Still not 100% yet--it will take a few days--but finally recovering instead of feeling worse each day. Baby snuggling helps. :)

Two, 8 days early would be a- ok with me. Lol. I feel like it could be any day now which is funny since I was late last time but I'm so uncomfortable and she's hurting me so much it's hard to believe we could go another 3 weeks. Technically I have 11 days until my due date. We're doing apple hill (which for those that aren't from here is basically a ton of pumpkin patches and fun places to go in the mountains for fall) this Sunday and I want to experience it with my youngest once since he was a baby last time so while I'm pretty miserable I would be ok waiting until after Sunday but THEN any freaking time please. Lol
