Hi BR , there is hope!! I just feel its a very important part of a girl sway, I really didn't want to stop but got so sick with the flu and then had to go away and also having visitors from intestate was hard to continue to commit .
Gladly I have still lost weight even though I stopped , has been 5 weeks since no exercise but only have lost 2kilos. When I was exercising it was a kilo a week . So do prefer the exercise route!!!
Iam over the diet though, but would do LE again to get weight off after I do have another baby .
How are you feeling br? Hows the eating going now that u can JUST EAT.... Whenever whatever
SO jealous
Ha ha can't eat everything I want still feel sick or no appetite for a lot of foods. But I'm doing good 4 weeks and 4 days today! Been popping in every so often to see how you ladies are doing and I'm impressed! Well done all!

Looks like my 9 day stretch is turning into a 14 day stretch since it will rain ALL next week. I figure I can take 4-5 days off and still be ok. I'm continuing to lose inches which means more weight to follow soon. I'll need to take some time off.
The things we put ourselves through....

I'm struggling with exercise at the moment. I did it yesterday but feel drained while dieting and taking metformin that I feel lethargic. Usually I'm the sort of person who gets up and on and walks really fast etc. But I'm the opposite at the moment. I'm being OK with food to compensate so I still loose weight. I think I'll have to try and do the exercise daily when I get to the week of ovulation. I have walked to the school and back today and will do this afternoon too, and cleaned at fast mode today for an hour or more but just dont think I'll have the energy for the gym.
Do you think on days like today it would be worth doing just say 30 mins at the gym of cardio instead of nothing at all?

I'm not Atomic, but I've swayed before and have been on this board for a few years now- so I can help!
Do you have PCOS or are you diabetic? I ask, because you are on Metformin. If so, then ANY amount of exercise will help your sway in this case. When you are insulin resistant, IR, you benefit from moderate exercise to help regulate insulin production and to burn fat. If you do have one of these conditions, I speculate the 60min of cardio is burning too much fat for you and that is why you are feeling run down.
Do what you can! Any is better than none for you, in this situation. You're doing great!!
BTW, I wish I had the time to clean my house for an hour straight! With me having such a little baby, I'm doing great just being able to clean a room of my house a day!

Am not sure but I asked a similar question a while back, not sure if atomic answered it but unless you have pcos, then it has to be an hour cardio or nothing, apparently breaking the exercise up throughout the day sways blue, I had planned to walk for half and hour in the morning and then half an hour cardio in afternoon but people said that would sway blue! Hope that makes sense, it is so hard to fit the exercise in and doing it with the diet is energy sapping, x o

I completely missed your post when I wrote mine chocolate?! As the ladies above have said though, if you're IR them any exercise otherwise less than an hour straight of cardio sways blue. Are you drinking coffee? I'm living on it since starting my sway, it's the only thing that gets me through the day with the boost it gives me x

I have had Pcos in the past but not sure where I'm at with that at the minute. I am a slim Pcos girl too.
If I take Metformin it makes me feel weak, aches and ears feel achey too. I think I'm going to have my dinner and not take a metformin and go to the gym to do my hour. Had to try and nap on the sofa after the school run, only ever when I take the metformin that I feel like I need to sleep. I have 1 coffee in the am but it seems to make me feel a bit out of it, like I'm alert but can't function normally, bit hard to describe! I got a good 9 hours sleep last night so it's not like I'm tired, just body feels like it is.

Well davesig4.
Yes I'd count that as exercise if heart rate is up and sweating! I pushed DS3 in the buggy the other day for part of my work out and I found that harder than the gym!
I made it to the gym after an early tea, 10 mins left to go!! It's the thought of having to do it again tomorrow and the next day etc!

I love tennis! If my DS3 wasn't so little, I'd go play and let my DS2 play at the park next to the court. Ah well, I'll live vicariously through you!
I can't wait until I get my new jogging stroller. When DS3 can sit up by himself, I'm planning on taking him and DS2 for a run. I think I'll be outgrowing the walking soon.

Well done girls! Did an hours run this morning so got it out the way early!
I have to say, the one thing that concerns me about having another (among many other concerns!!) is what other people will say, especially if it is another boy!!! My friend just had a girl after two boys (in fact, 2 friends have just done that with new partners, maybe that's what we need to do girls, get a new man ) and so many comments about the fact it was a girl after two boys but it makes it sound like anything other than that would have been disappointing?!x

1hr done on TM, feel better for it after my cheat day yesterday.
It really bothers me too having to tell people if we ever get pregnant again. I think for me it's more of an age thing, as I'm 41 I think everyone thinks we've done having kids because our youngest is 14. They don't realise we've been trying for so long. And yes the well let's hope it's a girl this time blah blah blah. If it ever happens I really need to be armed with some really good come backs to make them think about how stupid and hurtful they sound!
chocolate
April 23rd, 2016, 01:13 PM
Yes I can imagine you would also get hurtful comments. I'm going to have to think of some good comebacks. Depends on my mood and who says it, if I say yes I'm hoping for a girl this time but I bet if I said that they would then have an opinion of I shouldn't be bothered lol!! Well done on getting the exercise done. I find it easier on a Weekend.... And it's a bit of a break from the noise of the house to go to the gym ;-)

I ignore hurtful comments. If anyone does say let's hope it's a girl or maybe it's a girl. I say yes that would be really nice but If I get a boy I get a boy simple as. Yes I will be disappointed. But then I know i was never meant to have a girl! And the boy will be loved just the same.
I actually was asked what if it's a boy by from the NHS fertility doctor and I told hi the above. And in the end he said he was only joking when he asked.

So you have all put me to shame this weekend. I was up for 21 hours straight yesterday and I has completely knocked the life out of me! I have literally been fighting my eyes to stay open the entire time, and then we had to go to a friends for dinner last night which meant another late night, today has been horrible. SO I did no exercise yesterday or today, and I am so annoyed with myself because I was doing so well with it last week, I felt that I had got into the groove! And coupled with a way too large dinner at our friends last night and a massive lunch at my SIL today, I feel like the whole thing has gone out of the window and my all efforts have been dissolved in the last 36 hours!

Hey all sorry not been on properly in a few days. Not too sure whether to sway this year or next now. I am 31 so time isn't totally on my side but i am wondering whether it may be better to wait for both my boys to be in pre school before we start trying again as life will potentially be a bit more settled then and I will have to walk for an hour each day anyway which takes care of the exercise element! The only thing stopping me is how impatient I am but I guess I have lots to keep me entertained this year which should help take my mind off swaying!
How's everyone's weekends been? Xx

BR - lovely to see you!! How are you feeling? Any appointments coming up/had with GP/mw?
Chocolate - YES!!!! AF is definitely here and with a vengeance, typical after I've been asking on other threads and actually came very close to offering Agnus castus and taking tumeric to encourage it lol! I use a mooncup and bearing in mind I only started spotting yesterday, I've just flooded after less than 5 hours!! Sorry for tmi, I am pleased mainly as things appear to be getting back to normal but jeez I've not missed the monthlies, and defo not the cramps either. Not sure if I'll do exercise or not today before my second night shift, I've done 5 days in a row so won't feel bad about not doing it, just not sure if I want to risk gym-ing it with af so heavy...
In also looking forward to having a baby 1-1 again as both my boys are at school but that in itself worries me with the bigger age gap... Oh well, what will be will be xx

That's why I'm so strict with diet and exercise. I don't for see us having more than one attempt, because DH really wants a girl.

I'm waiting for a thermometer to arrive so I can chart this cycle, or try too anyway, be nice to confirm when ovulation actually is.
In theory our one attempt will be maybe in about 10 days. Made a home made pizza tonight and it was soo good I had a few slices so it's shot my fat upto 35% but still only about 35grams of fat so not bad but wanted my percentage to be lower. Will not be making pizza or giving the kids yummy food the next 10 days, sorry kids ha ha!!!!

Beautiful Rainbow I was so out of breath from just going up stairs at 4 weeks, huffing when I got to the top that others even looked twice at me! Even asked the doctor about it as I was that concerned but she said it was normal. Don't think it's from lack of exercise, just literally from being pregnant!

What is the info on tempting? I have never done it, I just use a cb fertility monitor. We have a thermo scan for children could one use that? Best first thing in the morning? I am really avoiding attempting, was suppose to try in March, then April and now am thinking June would be better!

Well done for all your efforts today everyone!

You would need a basal thermometer to read to 2 decimal points. Normally a temperature rise indicates ovulation has happened. Sometimes I think I am ovulating day 14 but actually it's day 19 so it helps me know when to ttc

Temping should be done in the morning after you have had more than a 3 hrs block of unbroken sleep.
you can either do it in your v j j or in your mouth. Your V j j may be more accurate because you may sleep with your mouth open! You need a digital basal thermometer which needs to have 2 numbers before the decimal point and 2 after. Because it's mostly the shifts in the 2 after the point your looking for. Do you have fertility friend app. If so record your temp there then that will help you pinpoint o. Hope this helps you.xxx

^^^for is moms who BF still, 3 hours of unbroken sleep is fine. Ideally, more than that is best but studies show that 3 hours is sufficient.
I recommend downloading an app like Fertility Friend or Kindara (I have both) to chart for you. It also makes keeping track of your other fertile signs in one place.

I don't normally drink so having wine every evening feels like a treat so stops me eating. I've just started drinking peppermint tea which I think is making me bloated so I'm not actually that hungry even though low on cals etc.
Even managed to only sit down for half an hour today and still had the energy for a good gym work out this evening :-) Got to do it in the am tomorrow though so feels a bit like my exercises back to back. Frilly and 3 I feel exactly the same. I manage to get by during the day if I keep myself busy but by the evening when I am tired I just seem to want to keep munching and raiding the cupboards! I have done that this evening and now I feel rotten about it all. Feel for you ladies having to do your exercise before work :-( I am finding the exercise OK but only now because I have my attempt within a week which keeps me going so it does help to finally be at the point of ttc. Doing it for a couple of months before ttc is gruelling!
Slept so badly last night, think I had caffeine too late in the day so couldn't switch off. Also started charting and decided to set my alarm at 3am to do it so kept waking thinking it was time. Think I'll drop the charting or only do it when I naturally wake to the boys and not worry about doing it at a set time.
I thought I'd only do half an hour at the gym but half way through I suddenly felt energetic and felt better after. I did have half a sugar in my coffee before I went and 1 starburst though as I felt maybe I was pushing my body too hard as didn't eat many calories yesterday as I should.
Hope you all have a good day,sun is out here but is a bit chilly still!

Vitex caused me to have mid-cycle bleeding, delayed O, and a longer than normal cycle. I took it prior to my sway back in 2014.
I got an hour in yesterday. Completely unintentional as I walked to pick DS1 up from school, got talking with one of his friend's mom, and we walked to a park to let all of our kids play. Then we had a long walk back home.
I think I may be ovulating early this cycle. I had a high temp this morning. I'll know more in a couple of days. My last cycle was longer than normal due to delayed ovulation so I could be ovulating early this cycle. Upshot is we have only had one attempt!
Now I wait...

Its like I want it to be as good an attempt as possible but it is never going to be great, so I should just go for it as it could take me a while to conceive. I know Chocolate, it is so difficult. I feel that my dreams could come true and I feel so motivated when I read peoples success stories, like that could be me but equally i get terrified when I read the stories of people who try so hard and get opposites! A fourth child would put us under pressure money wise and space wise and it is really me that is pushing for a 4th and life is good at the moment as DS2 is sleeping well and it is getting easier, if I got pregnant now we would have 4, 6 years and under, it would be alot. Good luck with your decision chocolate! You're not alone x

Feeling exactly the same I guess it's normal to have these worries, especially us boy mummies who tend to analyse so much. Whatever happens and whatever decisions we make its good to know that we all understand each other and are supporting one another. I love this place, it's great to feel like I can be open and honest about my feelings and see those echoed in other people's posts. Wish this journey could be easier on us all though. Good luck with the exercises today. Xx

On the positive at least yours will all be close in age, our eldest will be 8 nearly 9 by the time the next one comes so I worry the gap will be too big. Let's hope we get some positive vibes to help us feel good about it again X

And her daughter has 3 boys too just like me. The nurse said she thinks I'd her daughter had another one it will be another boy. I said actually it is a little more common to go on and have a girl after 3 boys than to have 4 boys. This nurse was very interested. said she can tell i have done a lot a research into this. Found it! It's actually on here. It says.
It says you are only 6.4% more likely to go on and have a 4th boy
The odds of having a girl after 3 boys is 43.6%
Odds of having a family of 4 being 5he same gender us 12.5% odd off a family of 4 being mixed gender is 87.5%
It also says when people say your more likely to keep having the same gender is actually an old wives tale

Did zero exercise all weekend I'm ashamed to say as we were so busy and had a very late dinner party on Sat evening. But got out to do my 1h20 power walk/run with the pram afar lunch today. I'm hoping to have my attempt next week, like you Chocolate, I'm wondering if I have done enough. I was originally aiming to have my first attempt in April, but felt I hadn't been consistent with everything so delayed. Now I am wondering if I have done enough this month, maybe not, certainly not compared to some of you. But I don't want to wait anymore I don't think. But it's stressing me out a little bit.

Chocolate, girlieplease and mulberry s, I am also getting more and more nervous as our first attempt is getting closer. Will be trying end of May. I have the same worries as you: is this the right thing to do? Do I really want another child and not only DG? How will a 4. child affect our family time-wise, money-wise and so on. A lot of thoughts. On the other hand I am also exited. I am so thankfull to this site and that I am not alone with these feelings and anxiety.

Hi all, well I got a positive opk yesterday am but not again that day even though I tested a few times and negative today. Dtd last night which will be our only attempt this month even if I haven't actually ovulated. It's day 10 today so a bit earlier than normal as usually day 12 ish but then I spotted for 3 days before full period so maybe I'm more like day 13. Had a bit if a temp. Rise but I've only charted for 3 days or 4 this month so it's hard to tell. I've got back ache, muscle aches and bloated so don't feel like exercising. So I either ovulated yesterday, today or I've got it wrong but diet has been good since af and I exercised every day.

Squiggle pink I would not have a clue what exercise dvd are recommended but I just looked for one that stated it was cardio and lasted for an hour, it's called carolyn pierce not sure that is correct as I have lost the cover cardio workout, atomic recommended on another post going on you tube and doing some of the dance stuff she mentioned a few but I cannot recall now. I am sure there is some recommended workout, I just picked that myself, I love it, if it gets too late or is raining I can stick it on and I still get my hour!

I think I read that it might sway to only have one attempt the entire month as the body may be able to detect the sperm was only there once and realise a man is around permanently so therefore a daughter would find it easier to survive without a father. But if the same happen again next month I'll just throw in another attempt.
I have stuck to the diet today but no exercise, will try and exercise tomorrow to keep blood sugars low just in case there is a female waiting to implant. Guess even if I ovulate tomorrow or the day after then some sperm may still be hanging around.
Feel really bloated and back pains around kidneys today though which I tend to get around ovulation. Does anyone else get that?

What a beautiful way of saying it! Are you having any cravings/signs either way?
DH and i can't decide whether to attempt this month or next. He is very keen for number 3 but has not been very committed to frying his balls (:pinksperm:) in the interests of lowering sperm count!! Think he feels guilty now and wants to go for it, exercising like mad until next month!!!
Does anyone know anything about sperm production? Is it done in advance? If so, what is the cycle?

For lowering sperm count we started with DH taking cranberry and licorice root and hot baths in the end DH was just doing the odd cranberry and hot baths. E4d wuth no release in between and extra on +opk. Not sure if there was anything else

I tell ya, I got an opposite while doing something very similar my last sway. I also had some other things going on, but I do believe exercise plays a huge role for us boy moms. Doing the cardio, my body type had completely changed and it's only been 6 weeks! I'm looking more long and lean as opposed to muscular.
I only walk wearing my DS3 in a front carrier (he's 5mo old) while I push my DS2 in a stroller. I find this helps me as I vary where we walk. Sometimes I go to an indoor playground to let my DS2 play, while I walk on the indoor track wearing my DS3. I can only do this right now, since I have a hard time finding help or the time to go to the gym.
The stats show cardio, any type, is getting such great results. I hear ya though- I miss my yoga and weights!

Well I have been completely MIA for a fair few days but it's nice to be back! I have just about caught up with all the new posts!
I have been keeping up with my exercise, either a 10k power walk/run, hours combat class or a run which I think is finally taking it's toll on my legs! They are sore, I feel like an old woman! And my left leg has a constant ache, even worse at nights when it's that tired ache but you feel you need to keep moving it, anyone else get that?! It's so annoying! Does anyone know why this happens?!
I'm going to be having my first attempt in the next day or two. I have been feeling a bit down about my lack of weight loss and have tried to make myself feel better with some chocolate but that has just made me feel worse (what a surprise!) and annoyed with myself for giving into my cravings! No wonder I'm not losing weight!
Everyone has been doing so well, keep it up!

I get that were leg feeling too I've read it can be down to a deficiency I think? Well done on the exercise!
Perhaps adding a little more protein would help to avoid craving sugary food like chocolate? Though I am sure that the odd treat won't hurt! Xx

Great job ladies! I'm waiting to test....I just for some reason don't think I will be able to get pregnant BFing such a little baby. I hope I'm wrong. I just don't want to get my hopes up and not end up pregnant. I hate the 2WW! Ugh. 8 long days to go...

Chocolate I feel for you. It must be so frustrating. And BR that's so cool! I am very excited for you!
I didn't do any exercise yesterday, Wednesday is always my tricky day. But our first attempt was last night, eek! Do we continue with exercise as usual after our attempt? I'm assuming we do incase it hasn't worked. This is going to be a long 2 weeks! I have tennis this morning, hopefully the sun will come out!

Yes I'd carry on as best you can but maybe it doesn't need to be a full hour if you know you have Def. Ovulated. It's to keep sugar levels low as female embryos develop best in low blood sugar levels. If I can do an hour I'll be doing an hour as much as poss. But I did have a day off or 2 and then did 40 mins. But if I'd have carried on with an hour and diet I could have had a second attempt. X

Try to stick to 60min, unless you have PCOS or are IR. Doing anything less sways blue due to not having enough time to tap into your fat stores.
Yay!! Davesig4!! FX you caught the egg!!

I find that with the early morning sessions too girlie please! I ran yesterday so gave it a break today; my knee is getting a little iffy so I'm trying not to run on it every single day and alternating with classes or spinning/stationary bike/general gym cardio instead... Well done on this mornings run though; I find I have to extend my route to get the hour in though!x

Can you guys please start a new thread and then we'll link it back to this one?? Once the threads get so long like this, they really gum up the speed of the site. Thanks I really appreciate it!!

I'm doing ok. AF should start for me in a few days. I'm happy that it looks like I have a nice long LP while BFing!
Completed day 7 of cardio and will most likely be 13 days in a row due to it raining next week AGAIN, haha!
