So sorry Kelbear!

Dreamsister, I'm moving onto injectables next cycle. I'm sick of waiting. I've been ttc since Mar 2015. I've had 2 miscarriages in that time. I've also tried Clomid and my RE says Femara won't do anything for me since I don't have PCOS. I just want to have a baby! The risks are about 20% that you could have a multiples pregnancy but you could let your doc know that you don't want multiples, so maybe they'll have you trigger with fewer follicles. I personally don't mind having twins. They run in my family, so they don't really scare me. You could also try more attempts in your fertile window before moving onto injectables. Only one attempt in your fertile window will definitely drastically reduce your odds of conception. Just some things to think about. :)

Congrats to everyone who got BFP's this cycle, I was taking a break from the boards this cycle but checking in occasionally to see how everyone was doing. Here is my two cents Dreamsister. :)

I would take the injectibles as even those don't give you any guarantees that you will become pregnant. I am about to turn 40 next month and have been trying for baby #2 since March 2015, I have had 1 miscarriage and 2 chemical pregnancies since starting fertility treatments in December. Clomid gave me weak ovulation and thin lining and had no BFP's while on it. I next moved onto Femara which I am told will make you ovulate if you have PCOS and if you already ovulate on your own it just boosts the amount of follicles per cycle (I do not have PCOS). 3 months ago, after 2 back to back chemicals, I started doing combo cycles of Femara, Gonfal F, trigger shot and progesterone supplements in the 2WW. So far no luck for me, although I did get 3 follicles this cycle but that doesn't mean you ovulate all 3, I will start testing tomorrow so fingers crossed this cycle works. If you really want another baby, I would try anything at this point but I am not really afraid of having twins since with my age this will be our last shot at having additional kids. (triplets on the other hand scare me :) ) Good luck in whatever you decide, hopefully Goldie the sticky egg appears soon for all of us.

AF found me, which wasn't really disappointing since I already had my BFN. Now to move forward with what to do next. I have an ultrasound scheduled tomorrow to check for cysts and the overall health of my girlie parts. I posted some questions in another thread if anyone can help with some guidance. Thanks.

tfan thanks for your two cents and taking time to answer my question. Wow you have also been on a long ttc-journey. I think you are right that I should try anything at this point. I think I will do the injectables (staring tomorrow night) and see what happens. I cross my fingers for you. Will you update in the 2ww October thread?

momamia4 - thank you for your opinion and story. Good point. How exciting you are moving onto injectables. Then we can be injectable-buddies :-) When do you start? And how much will you take?

Good luck Dreamsister. I think injectables are the way to go too. I hope it does the trick for you and we see a BFP for you in October.

Sorry AF came, GirlieCat and Kelbear. :(

I've been almost entirely off the wagon this week and it's making me nervous. Expecting O around Monday, and I haven't exercised all week, haven't had any fibre/coffee/alcohol, and my diet has been just ok. I think we'll do this cycle couch potato and hope for the best, I'm too invested in TTC right now to not attempt.

Kelbear
September 15th, 2016, 07:12 PM
Don't worry too much foxtrotmama as I think it is the overall pattern of less that is what sways, hopefully a week of no exercise won't make any difference and if you have still been doing the le diet even loosely with a few cheats you won't undo all your previous effort. Good luck, hope this is your month.

I'm so sorry that AF has found so many [emoji20]! Hang in there ladies- it will happen!

AFM- I'm still waiting to ovulate! I haven't gotten a positive opk yet. I am doing E4D plus one attempt at positive opk.

FX we see more BFPs! Is anyone still waiting to test, or do we need to start the Oct 2WW thread?

Sorry Inforthree. This month really was not very Spectacular for too many. Still hopefully for those who will be testing or attempting this month.

AFM- I excited to have my ultrasound today to check my girlie parts. My first US ever and I am hoping it brings answers to some questions. One being why AF is so short. I am already just about done with AF only 30 hours after my first spotting...never been more than 48 hr (from very first spotting to all fully clear) since I got of birth control in January.

I am waiting on AF still! This cycle feels like forever! It's a full moon either last night or tonight?so I should get it soon. I wish it would hurry up bc I want to begin attempting! I'm finding this waiting frustrating.

I'm out too, couldn't wait to test any longer, bfn on frer at 12 dpo. Wish I knew what was causing my cramping and pulling pains for about a week each month prior to AF. Thought maybe the no spotting and pulling pains might have been a sign this was my month but apparently not

Kelbear, I had my ultrasound yesterday and the tech wouldn't tell me much, they send the scans to the doctor who will call me next week to go into the results in detail, but she did tell me that I definitely have cysts. I asked if they were big or small and she said medium. I can only assume that these might be the source of all you cramping too.

foxtrotmama
September 17th, 2016, 02:18 PM
GirlieCat, at least you know the likely cause of the cramping now. Hopefully the ultrasound gives you some answers towards TTC.

GirlieCat
September 17th, 2016, 06:24 PM

September 19th, 2016, 02:29 PM

XX are you doing 1 attempt at OPK or are you on something like e4d pattern? Hope you get a nice clear positive. I am not sure if it was the clomid, but I never got a absolute positive last cycle (just an "almost positive") and I normally do get a very clear positive.

Good luck and happy BD!

XXforhubby
September 19th, 2016, 06:19 PM
I am doing a weird combination. It will be two attempts back to back when I get a positive opk. It's like a SMEP hybrid, because I don't think my DH would ever go for SMEP. I'm afraid if I approached him about it or tried to get us to do it, he would pull the plug on BDing unprotected.

That's interesting about your experience with Clomid. I am getting almost positives too. I'm temping so if my temp is lower tomorrow and no positive opk, I'm going to have an attempt anyway to cover my bases.

I need some advice (I'm going to post this in the Oct 2ww thread too). So I got a +opk this morning and I'm doing SMEP. The problem is that I bd the last two days in a row (got carried away with DH 😄). With SMEP, you're supposed to bd EOD until +opk. Once you get a positive, you bd for 3 days in a row, skip a day and then bd one more time. So, should I bd for the next 3 days in a row like SMEP says or should I just bd once more, or something else??

XXforhubby
September 20th, 2016, 08:02 AM
I would BD tonight, take tomorrow night off, BD again, and then continue to BD either E3D or E4D in case O gets delayed.

Sounds logical to me as LE can really mess with your cycles.

Who is SMEP recommended for?

momamia4
September 20th, 2016, 08:07 AM
SMEP is recommended for women ttc quickly. I've been ttc for so long that I just want to get pregnant. If you bd e3d before you get the +opk instead eod, atomic says it's fine for ttc girl. I threw caution to the wind and bd eod. I'm just ready for a baby despite gender. :)

I'm ok XXforhubby. Had bloodwork taken this morning to confirm another failed cycle so I can stop the progesterone supplements and await AF. Getting pretty discouraged since the infertility and the loses are really unexplained, just crappy luck and I turn 40 next month to boot. I had great numbers this month and 3 follicles but still no BFP. I was getting BFN's the last 5 days but still kinda hopeful since I had temp spikes Sunday and Monday with horrible headaches but temp was way down today so I know its another failed cycle. I'm sure I will be more encouraged in a few days when I get a new plan, I think I will see if DH will agree to do an IUI cycle this time since we haven't tried that yet.

How are you doing? Are you settled in the new house yet?

Guessing those who are just about to have their attempts won't get their results till Oct. I hope all of you start out October with lots of BFP.
We need an abbreviation for the waiting to ovulate- W2O? That wait is equally anxious as the 2WW for AF, just in different ways. I am only cd6 and don't O till 18-20 so it is a long W2O for me. [emoji16] Trying to live through everyone else in the mean time. FX

Kelbear
September 20th, 2016, 11:32 PM
GirlieCat we will likely be ovulating around the same time, I am only cd3 as AF took its good old time to come this month (15 or 16 day lp I think which is unheard of for me). I usually ovulate around cd 13 or14 so still 10 or 11 days to wait. If I O late this month I won't have any chance at an attemp as we are heading away camping (sleeping in a small tent with DS so no chance at all). Fingers crossed I can get an attempt in the night before we leave and that October brings lots of bfps. Fingers crossed it is your month GirlieCat.
Good luck to all those attempting or testing in the next few days/week.

I like the W2O abbreviation! I managed to have an attempt before things turned sour. I had a rough night. DS3 didn't sleep well so neither did I. I feel incredibly nauseous- like I'm about to vomit. I think it's from lack of sleep. I don't know if I'm going to be able to exercise today. This too shall pass...

Last months cycle was 20 days. Threw me way off bc I'm ALWAYS 28 day cycle.
No we did not attempt so 100% no way I am pregnant.
This cycle I only took folic acid and fibre which I just stopped due to the irregular cycles.

Sounds just like I described, no positive OPK, wonder if that was from the clomid for both of us. Good luck.

Clomid makes the ovulation tests very wonky in my opinion... To you guys that didn't get a positive OPK... Did you just use strips or did you use the clear blue digitals that would give you flashing or solid smileys? My clomid cycle the only reason I knew I was ovulating is I had just been to the doctor who said I had a big ripe egg that was gonna pop any time and way later that night my digital went to a solid smiley but I didn't get a single flashing smiley that month. And my line never got darker than the control line.

GirlieCat
September 22nd, 2016, 01:00 PM
Hi Burakoam, I only used the strips and only got an "almost positive". It never got as dark as my previous months and then after the almost positive they got lighter and lighter. I don't temp or use the clear blue. I have been able to catch a positive all the other months that I have been using the strips so I blame either the clomid or the fact that I tested later in the day due to a work event. Either way I guessed my surge was just before my almost positive since it got lighter after. I am not on clomid this cycle so I will see how different it is.

Did you take any cycles off clomid after taking it? Just wondering if I should expect things to still be wonky this cycle from left over clomid in my system. I took this cycle off because I am waiting for test results from my cd3 blood work and ultrasound.

Thanks for sharing your experience Burakoam! I temp, thankfully, so I got a nice temp rise this morning. Had I not been temping, we may not have continued to BD E3D. It looks like I had an O-1 attempt, which I'm hoping did the trick! I'll have an attempt tonight, but I think it will be too late. I couldn't BD last night- my DH made me mad before bed, haha! Ideally, I would want to have 2 attempts back to back, since the one attempt hasn't been working. Ah, well next time I won't count on the opks!

I'm sorry to hear that we haven't gotten more bfps this month. I'm not sure what's going on with my cycle.

I was due to ovulate earlier this week, and I never got a positive opk. It looked almost positive on Monday afternoon, but then got lighter instead of darker. I was testing 3 times a day too, to make sure I wouldn't miss it. I was using the First Response brand tests. I'm thinking I should use the digital kind next month. We did BD Tuesday night, but I'm not sure what to expect since I never got a positive. Good luck to everyone else, and I'll see you over in the October thread.

I'm not going to test until the 3rd or the 4th of Oct. though. I just don't think I'll be pregnant and want to be blissfully ignorant!

Seriously, EVERYONE is pregnant right now! I just feel like it's not my time and it's not going to happen. I'm starting to wrap my mind around my baby making days are over. Sigh.

Xxforhubby, I'm so excited that we're cycle buddies!!! :) I know what you mean about everyone being pregnant. There are tons of pregnant ladies in real life all around me. It seems like everyone and their brother is pregnant!! I am only testing that early because I need to get it out of my system. I'm definitely not expecting a bfp that early. I know it's insanely early, so I can assume that the negative is due to to that and then I can actually wait until 13 or 14dpo to test for real. Lol! I'm feeling strangely optimistic this cycle. Which only means I'll be devastated to get a bfn. I don't know why I set myself up like that. Hopefully I'll be able to reel in my emotions and get it under control before I test for real. Good luck!!! :)

Hi Robin,

I went to see a herbalist, and have been told to make a Red Clover infusion (1oz of blossoms in 1 quart of boiled water, left to steep overnight) and drink 2-4 cups a day.
She's seen lots of older women (like me) get a BFP with this.
It's worth a try for me.
I've also added Cassava to my diet....the actual yams, not a supplement.
Both these things are supposedly boy friendly.
I just want a BFP, as my due date for my MC is fast approaching, and I will feel so much sadder if I am not pregnant by then.

Opk tests are s bit crazy! Been testing since cd10 and they have been getting a tiny bit darker each day I test.

Tested today expecting it to be positive, but it is much lighter again (like it was cd10!!)

So I woke up 45 mins before my temp time. I took my temp then and went back to sleep. When I woke up again, I took my temp again. There's a huge difference between the two (97.35 and 97.73). Which one should I use? Also, bfn on hpt but it's super early, 7dpo. I'll probably retest on Oct 1st (10dpo).

XXforhubby
September 28th, 2016, 08:42 AM
FF recommends keeping the first one. Sometimes if I've felt pretty hot after waking, I have taken the average of the two temps. Doing this has felt more accurate for me, because the earlier temp didn't reflect how warm I felt later, and the higher temp seemed a bit of a stretch. The average for you would be 97.54. Going my a temp adjuster, your temp would be 97.50 45min later, and your actual temp was 97.73. You could always mark the temp as questionable.
