Sky - I realized I never answered your question. I wasn't tracking or putting any effort into swaying when we had our boys. But I will say this, our diet was so boy friendly. Red meat and high in vegetables, pasta and fats. We also dtd often. And back then my husband had taken a break from cycling and was really only lifting weights. So in retrospect, if Atomic's hypothesis is true, this all led to our boys.

Yes, dreaming you can throw the Le out!! First thing I did was eat breakfast and so much meat I've had turkey burgers, turkey lunchmeat, tacos, and eggs galore and it's been amazing! Surprisingly I've gained nothing!
As soon as sperm meets egg that's when it's determined girl or boy right?

I was so ravenous today at lunch that I devoured a full scramble of eggs, feta, ham and asparagus and all the toast. That's when I started to allow myself to see that I had symptoms. It was so good!

I kept my LE diet going through the tww per Atomic's advice because she talks about the condition of the mother's body accepting the fertilized egg may play a part too. But yes, gender is decided when sperm meets egg.

I'm looking forward to adding coconut oil, olive oil, butter and eggs back into my life! [emoji16]

Sky-testing with the digi in the AM with fmu. Soo nervous! Do not like the digi when it gives me the words I don't want to see!! Thinking positive thoughts...

Sky i also think i forgot to respond (*i think it was you) regarding timing. I know it wasn't an e4d style. It would be around every 3 days or sometimes a couple close together as well. I just remember having a very boys friendly snacking always breakfast eating diet. Ive actually not properly had breakfast in almost a year as after ds5 was born i just didn't get the time plus it makes me feel sick.

Just finished AF, but now seems I have a yeast infection or something..never happened before. One way of helping seems to insert yogurt in the vagina, and hubby volunteered lmao... anyhow, hope it clears faaast so we can get into oiur ttc mode and be ok before attempt time! (We dtd last night but that was Kinda sore :( ).

I got my cross hairs today on FF. Do you agree with the O day? It's also the day I got my positive opk. I'm psyching myself out about being in boy territory (more just reeeallly wanting another DD). I KNOW timing doesn't work, but both DD's were 0-2 and we BD once after a week break (DH was out of town). Hoping my diet, e3d BD, and ages of me and DH (40) are enough to sway pink. [emoji175]

Max-yay for crosshairs! Since you had a pos OPK on 22, I'm wondering if 23 was possibly O day, but don't think there's a way to know for sure-one of those 2 days! With you being naturally girl-friendly, diet, age, etc...I think your BD pattern has you covered!! Def a very good chance at pink [emoji175]Just out of curiosity, does DH have a gender preference? I feel like so many men want their own mini-me and LO to carry on their name. DH was so excited with boys, but now he realllllly wants a girl too! Think that why he's willing to keep ttc.
I did test this AM and saw the words "Not pregnant" and quickly shoved it in the drawer!! I peeked at my tests and I didn't see obvious lines right away, so I can't bring myself to go examine them again at the moment. My temp is steady, exactly the same & last time it just dropped suddenly! AF hasn't arrived yet, but by this day 14dpo, even my CP had a more obvious faint line. DS2 is snuggled on my lap so hard to get up, feeling content :)

So I was wrong, my temp did drop slightly :( I just don't think this is going to be my month. I never had to guess with my boys. There was nothing that I could see on the frer or ept & the wondfo is still very faint. Ready to work on plan B and pray that one day I'll have that unmistakable line & healthy baby! Waiting on AF, this stinks!

DH doesn't have a preference. He loves having girls and has never had the need to have a little mini of him. I think he would be equally happy with either gender, but we both really do want another DD for our girls. We both have sisters and have close relationships with them, so would love to be able to give that to our girls as well.

Max-4 DD-that would be perfect [emoji175]Secretly hoping for twin DDs. Love my boys more than anything! They are fun, rambunctious, loving, adorable, smart and ALL boy! I was always so girly growing up playing with dolls etc. I only wore dresses for the longest time, had a bow collection & loved my beautiful dollhouse made by my dad. My family likes to say I'm "dainty" whatever they mean by that...I think it's their nice way of saying prissy lol. Have to say I'm jealous of those of you that get to shop for dresses & have girl nights doing hair & painting nails [emoji12]

Max, Lola, I actually started to think fondly of the twin idea when Pbn was teasing me early on with that early bfp. It would instantly even out my household gender ratio to have two girls. Then it popped into my head that I'd have to nurse 2 babies and I got all stressed out at the thought! [emoji12]

Twins are great to dream of, but when I learned that I could be having twins this pregnancy (I had a vanishing twin), I began to panic. I was so sad for what that would mean for my DS3, since they all would have been 21-22mo apart. Needless to say, I am relieved that we are only having one baby (I have since grieved over the loss of our other baby)!

Growing up I was always the one to do my friends hair and make up [emoji7] I have two brothers so not much to work with there, I ended up going to cosmetology school and realized I really don't like to many other women [emoji23][emoji23] trying to entertain their gossip of husbands and friends and such so when I got pregnant with ds1 and was so sick I became house mommy. I love it but would also love a little girl to put all my skills to good use

Ash-I've been researching plan B & considering femara vs Clomid. It almost sounds like femara has less side effects & still sways pink! I know what you mean about the gossip & drama with some women...think I would enjoy doing just my own girlie's hair too haha!

Thanks Lola. Im not quite sure what's going on. One minute i feel af is imminent and i go to the toilet, nothing on my liner only abit when I wipe.

The next minute my bbs are sore and I've started feeling queasy and im like this is familiar.

The next i feel like im mid cycle. Maybe i really did wish af away lol

Makes me wonder if I did ovulate at all when i got the almost positives 🤔

Hi Ladies

Did a couple of tests out of curiosity. The pink is an opk the rest hpts. Wasn't really much of a hold but i was desperate for the loo. Can't confirm O but anywhere from 9-13dpo (IF i o'd). Currently cd 33 with mostly brown spotting starting cd 30. Had the usual af cramping on and off feel she is imminent but not yet here. Pbn, I'm inclined to say not to do it. However, I'm glad that my dr did do bw for me with both DDs because he tested progesterone and I was very low with both pregnancies and needed meds. My betas were fine, but I otherwise wouldn't have known about progesterone levels...

Pbn-Hugs! I never had bw done for either pregnancy & tried to go about each day hoping for the best. My 1st appt for each wasn't until 8 weeks....and boy that was a long wait!! I would POAS from time to time & welcomed the MS. Agree with the others to do what helps put your mind at ease!

Pbn i agree with the others. Do what makes you comfortable and puts you at ease. It is abit of a wait til those first appmnts.

Lola- what are your cycles normally like? Regular? I was having 30ish day cycles and what seems like a shorter LP. I've had a look at your chart temps are still high. This is super weird for is both ☹ i keep going to the toilet to check.

Im doing another hold so far it been almost 5 hours so it will be 6 or 7 when i test. I haven't really had much since my coffee at work early this morning

Netti-my cycles are typically 27 days sometimes 26, so this is not the norm. I'm on CD28 today & no AF yet. I'm guessing that AF will still show by Tues, but we'll see!! Def weird for both of us!! Can't wait to see your next test :) Did you notice anything on your last tests? I wondered about that light blue one...

Lola- that is weird. Ive been going back through my charts ive been about cd31 at most. 1 day, maybe 2 of spotting before af is usual but ill be heading into day 4 tmro. Its mostly been brown aswell.
I have previously cycles as long as 35 days that's why im thinking Thursday may shed some light but not feeling to hopeful.

I thought i did see a shadow on one of the tests but im not 100%. Ive taken a frer seems to be -ve but i had to duck out rivht away to get ds1 and 2 from school. It was a good concentrated hold so i will check when i get back home. Im not hopeful though.

I think i have line eye. Tiredness doesn't help. Sumbal start taking a prenatal as well :) how much folic acid are you taking? You may need to drop the dose as there will be FA in your prenatal as well :)

Revitale Multivitamins & minerals is okay as parental? It contain 200 mcg FA.

Other one is Folic Acid which is 5 MG.

It's up to you. If you're not ready for anyone to know just yet then either don't tell your husband or do tell him and make him swear he won't tell until your ready... make it clear this is what you want and if he does tell he'll be breaking your trust terribly. That ought to keep him in line plus all dh's know you don't upset a pregnant women 😉

I don't know. Maybe after 7w scan? I'm still undecided about bloods but my gp's office have arranged the order seeing as my gp is on holidays so I'll probably go ahead and get first draw tomorrow morning.

I'm not sure exactly what they are Sumbal but your gp or ob will order them. There's quite a number of things they test for. The only bloods I'm getting done atm is the hcg quantitative 48hr test then I'll wait to get the primary pregnancy bw when I go back for 7w scan referral.

Pbn, just my 2 cents for what it is worth is to at least get progesterone tested? I had 3 healthy uneventful pregnancies but then had 3 losses at 6, 10, and 12 weeks. My progesterone was tested at the beginning and great so they never tested further. With my youngest DS though i insisted on checking weekly and it turns out it really started to drop after 7 weeks and i needed the suppositories. I really think it helped me finally hang on to a pregnancy. Definitely cant hurt to check it. Best of luck!

Well my temps have dropped a little, so I may actually have my answers soon-I predict tomorrow! No cramps & not irritable, but breaking out & lines aren't any darker...in fact sometimes I think I'm just seeing things! I will be surprised if AF doesn't show tomorrow.
I think I see the faintest lines on these tests, then I think maybe not...and at this point, I feel like they should be unmistakable ugh!

I know Ash ugh! I just called my OB office to see if they could get me in this week. I feel like if they could see me now, I could get my answers as far as bw & start meds if needed. By next week, AF will prob be here & too late to try meds. Those that take Femara or Clomid, it's taken usually CD 3-7 right?

I can't believe I'm 4dpo either, so crazy!! Question for you ladies... This coming Friday is my best friend's 35th birthday and I planned many months ago on to take her out for a special day. We are going for mani/pedi, massages, dinner with friends, and then I got a hotel for several of us to stay overnight in the city and do a slumber party (what she wanted lol). My question is...I know that they'll be drinking all day and it will be too early for me to test and know for sure if I'm pregnant or not. How would you handle it? She knows we are ttc, but the other girls don't and I really don't want to share too much with them as I don't want it to get back to my mother in law and sister in law, who they are all connected to. Thoughts?

@maximbella - according to LE diet drinking hard alcohol and white wine is more girl friendly than red wine which is higher in nutrients like potassium. That said, I drank red wine during the 2ww because it's easy and what I enjoy the most.
Also, when I was pg with DS2 I craved red wine so I researched it. All the studies of drinking while pregnant are referencing getting fully inebriated and involve hard alcohol. There are many studies that have been done specifically on the effects of red wine and positive brain development. That was enough for me and so I indulged in a half glass of red wine a couple times a week. Now I don't know if this contributed, but my DS2 is so smart and quick witted. So it obviously didn't hurt!
My advice is to drink something like red wine that is actually healthy and stick to a 2-3 glasses, switching between water and take your sweet time drinking it. I doubt anyone will notice. Good luck!

^^ that was the original idea but that was only a guess. We have subsequently found that things like calories, protein, and fat, and highly fortified foods like cereal, are the heavy hitters with swaying and things like a little extra difference in nutrients between red and white wine really don't matter. I keep it in the diet JIC but we have not found it to make a true difference and lots of people got girls drinking red wine. :)

4DPO is not supposed to be associated with causing issues because the baby is not implanted.

There are other things you can say, though. Sometimes people have to give up drinking because they find it causes them to have bad headaches and stomach upset (ME LOL) even just a drink or two makes me violently ill now. so I'd probably say you've found that drinking gives you a migraine or something like that.

Max-I had 1 frozen screwdriver before I knew I was pregnant with DS1. I believe it was early in the 2WW and I wasn't really following the calendar so closely. He's super smart & has an awesome memory :) It sounds like a glass or 2 of wine won't hurt in your 2WW. And like others mentioned...maybe you could sip your drink & no one will notice! Or if you can sneak over to buy the drinks alone...order a vodka water minus the vodka lol.

I'm a bit jealous dreamingella my first appointment and scan won't be until June 16 sooooo far away!
Lola bbs are sore but other than that nothing! Little worrisome but just taking it day by day. I thought about trying to call back and get my first appointment a week earlier but it really won't matter the more I think of it if something bad is to happen it will. And if I wait until 9w4d I'll have a pretty good picture of baby

I will tell you that I have almost no symptoms right now other than feeling like my stomach is perpetually empty. It's a borderline nauseas hungry feeling but I'm not really hungry. My BBs aren't even sore. Maybe just a little heavier feeling and warm.

My group of dr.s are really laid back also and don't order any unnecessary tests so I'm really worried about not being able to get the blood gender early on. I know another dr who does it but I love mine and don't want to switch just for that. But I might have to beg them to order me one!

Gender can now be determined through a blood test between 8-10 weeks gestation. It's the test they do now in leu of an amniocentesis. Because of my age, I get the test automatically per my doc. But I think you can request it. Otherwise, you'd have to wait 13-16 weeks for the ultrasound.

@Ashfind I hear you on that. I never had the bw done with my first two. Only since the ectopic because I'm more at risk now for another ectopic. I'm also more nervous!

Maxim I would avoid alcohol if you can. Otherwise keep it to a bare minimum. I had a wedding to go to when I was 8dpo (I got a bfp that morning) with ds2 and was known to enjoy a good wedding so I did the vodka trick someone mentioned. I did drink a small glass of white wine on arrival as could not get out of it without raising alot of suspicion but from there ordered vodka, lemon lime and soda minus the vodka. If someone asked if I wanted another drink I would say I'm thinking what I feel like so I could go and order my own non alcohol drink :)

I try sky I figure I'm the one who had them I'm the one who takes care of them. But they buy a lot for the boys. The like to buy clothes, shoes, they take us out to eat a lot and I do feel like I'm weighing others down by having one more even tho I'm the one to care for them all 99% of the time and I don't need them to buy clothes (I'd rather do it myself anyways lol) they're the only ones who know because I just know I'm going to hear a million times "trying for a girl? And you know what causes that don't you?" I just want to enjoy this pregnancy without negativity dh and myself can handle 5 kids we have the means and the space in the house and no one else should worry about how we're going to do it!!

This is an unlimited guilt free rant zone dear. That's the best part of ttc this time. I am way more relaxed than my first time. I think u r a great mom taking care of your family. People will talk no matter what. My sister had her second daughter and an unknown person at the hospital asked her why didn't she try for a boy?Made me so mad. Like she had any control over it. I just gave her the scariest look and she apologized and ran before I could even blink.
IMO, It's great that your in laws do so much for u but that shouldn't stop u from having the family U dream
of especially when u have the means to support and raise them. I bet u guys have the cutest family. Such loving parents and the sweet mom that u r. Enjoy this time. Vent all U want. Hugs.

Oh @skyblue - I can't even get started on my MIL you guys. Can't even!
My step-MIL though is one of the reasons we even started trying again. She convinced us that we're excellent parents, that our babies are beautiful and insisted that we needed to have another. She's the saving grace!
Oh and I'm not going public with my pregnancy until after we find out the gender for that very reason, @ashfind. Just closest friends/family. I don't want people asking, "are you trying for a girl?!" Ugh! That way I'll know and say, "we're expecting a boy/girl in January!"

The part that disappoints me the most is that I'm not able to start plan B yet...maybe not even until next cycle since my appt is in a week. Maybe 5th time will be the charm...I do recall saying the same thing this time last month. There are a lot of reasons I liked the idea of a Jan baby...now I'm looking at a Feb 11 dd.

Lola: i test around 1:30-3pm and another round at night just in case. I made sure to hold for at least 3 hours before testing as well.

Sky-Here's the website. I have ordered from fairhaven before & it was pretty quick. It says to take on the bottle 3x a day. I'm pretty certain I only took it 1-2x a day from AF until I got my BFP, then discontinued.

@lolabelle for what it's worth, I bought a bottle of preseed because I was getting desperate and when it came time this past cycle, I never even opened it because I felt my cm was fertile enough. I also ended up doing e4d and day of O which turned out to be e3d on day of attempt. I had never in the my previous 9 months trying attempted on day of O and sure enough, here I am. So maybe evaluate your timing a bit and keep closer tabs on cm?

Shinay, I tried opk at 1pm and 9pm, both with a 3-4 hour hold with limited liquids. Seemed to do the trick! I was previously testing at 11am and 6pm and missing my surges.

Hi ladies,

Lola – so sorry AF showed its ugly head – limbo is over but totally understand the disappointment : hopefully this cycle will be THE cycle and you can then put the wait and worry behind you. I waited for close to 2 years for my 1st BFP (DD1) but then only 6 months post m/c (when DD1 was almost 1) for my second DD to come along, and even then the wait was killing me, when really 6 months is nothing…. Truly sympathize with the wait – FX!

Iwant4 – how are you going?

Shinay – how long have you been trying for? The Fertilemucus sup may only be worth it if you have no mucus and so forth – up your drinks to ensure you are hydrated enough, as if not, that can dry up your CM ;)
Second what the ladies said re the OPKs – last cycle I found that I had a massive surge on an early arvo test, which was lesser by the evening (even with urine that was less diluted as no time to pee between leaving work and getting the kids to bed – nor even drink much either) – and that matched temps etc so O was that night/next morning …so definitely when you are getting close, multiple tests/day is the way to go! ^^

Sumbal – did you test again?

It’s insane – I think I will have to check on the pages here instead of work to keep up (so am sure I missed things) – not sure that would go down well with the boss haha
On a plus note, we had a chat with hubby the other day, and from someone that was against it, he is now cool with the idea of doing the NIPT: here in Australia (like in the US I think) – it is not covered by Medicare but prices have gone down in the last few years so am soooo doing it! My SIL had a t18 baby (she had a termination) before her now healthy son (born in December) and being older than the last few times (obviously), just want to cover all bases – bonus of course is finding out gender around 14 weeks (we’d do the NT scan at 12-13 ish and blood works then too and results come in within 2 working weeks)…now cannot – cannot- wait for that BFP – so much so, I am dreaming about it and all that comes with a new bub on the way – gah!
In the interim, Cd8 now - but I do think I have a thrush infection so DTD is not on the table atm – got a treatment yesterday but not feeling better yet so might have to visit the doc tomorrow.. oh the joys of being a woman :(

Swapped my appointment to June 9th YAY 4 weeks away! Somehow I got the same receptionist and she was less than thrilled [emoji38]. I had to see a different dr. Grrr...just noticed that my expected O day is at our family beach weekend! There is NO WAY I'll be able to dtd while there with my fam!! I may end up with O-3, O-2 or O-1 if we BD the day before we leave. Well, if that doesn't work, maybe I'll get my hands on some Femara to use the next time...then end up with a baby due on DS2's bday in March...

I have a huge sweet tooth too and really leveraged sugar throughout my LE diet for the calories. But all of a sudden I'm completely uninterested in sugar. I went grocery shopping yesterday and was drawn to savory snacks and fresh vegetables. Not going to read into it but definitely am noticing some cravings and aversions and it's still so early.

With my boys, I LOVED sweets. Ice cream, waffles for breakfast, candy. But I also loved meat and vegetables. So who knows. We shall see!

Apparently you can crave ice when you're anemic...I was very anemic with DS2. Do any of you have a Zaxby's or Chic Fil A where you live? They have the BEST ice haha.

That is hysterical!! I couldn't stop with avocado and would order guacamole every day from this takeout place below my office. So much so that every time I would call, they recognized my voice and asked me if I was ordering "my usual". :)

Ha ash, I love you!! I *barely* got a line on FRER with DD2 at 9dpo, so I'm thinking 8 might be very early for me. I can test 8dpo, but 9dpo (Saturday am) I'll be in a hotel with girlfriends and feel weird about finding out (either way) without DH. Sunday (10dpo) is Mother's Day and I'm nervous to test in the morning if it's going to be BFN. Hmmmm...

Yessss max-Friday at 8dpo...so then by the time you get to Mother's Day, you'll get your BFP at 10dpo & it'll be the best day ever...BUT if for some reason it's just still too early, you'll have already tested a few days & won't feel as upset. And sonic....yessss....forgot about Sonic ice!! Coke Zero & THAT ice...perfecto!

And I third the wondfos...I had more definite lines than on the frer...I don't think the newer ones are as sensitive!
I think I want to try these tests next time: OSOM. They're supposed to be really sensitive.

I use the Easy @ Home and they get better reviews than the Wondfos on Amazon. But they look identical and may be exactly the same. They are supposed to be 25mIU/ml but I swear they're more sensitive than that.

I am on cd20 now. I am normally 35ish day. My longest cycle was 44 days (yikes). Hope this is not another long cycle.

Shinay, I got the positive with the 1pm (that was the first positive that I had), and it was again super dark and positive at the 9pm test. The next day by 1pm it was already fading and negative. Yours looks super close, and with the temp dip, I wonder if you're about to O in the next few days?? I'm new to understanding charting, so maybe get an opinion from the others?

Yes, I'll test 8dpo (Friday) and then honestly I don't think I'll be able to hold out that long, so most likely will test Saturday at some point when I get home. I might do it at the hotel that morning and just hide the results until I get home??? I swear to myself every time that I won't test until 10dpo, but I just can't hold out.... ;)

I tested at 1pm today. Yesterday test strip at 1pm was also just as dark so i had high hope for positive opk with smiley cb today. I am much happier now hearing positive thoughts from you guys. Fx for positive!

maxim: i would say test on Friday and another one after you get home on Saturday. I don't want you to feel disappointed and upset if the line doesn't wanna show up yet and ruin your fun.

Ash I agree about 'pretending' to drink or getting hubby to pour you a non alcohol one. Lola's idea about tipping it out is really good too! I think you'll find with everyone chatting away no one will notice you emptying bits out here and there.

So I just bought an frer to test with when I get home. Have just dropped ds1 off at school and spur of the moment stopped at the chemist. I've only had one hot choc this morning so pee should still be quite concentrated I hope. Not that it matters as I got my numbers yesterday but would be nice to see a dark dark line lol.
