TTC5 you definatley have at LEAST 50% chance for your son... And because you have been swaying previously, you could hope that the odds are still in your favor. Surely you can still eat bannanas and potatos with plenty of salt? Another cheap sway tool is insence sticks for the +ve ions, they only cost a couple of dollars. Dont stress about stopping your sway, just imagine how happy you will be if you get a BFP next month!!!

It is much better to dtd every other day that abstain for 4 days or so. And if you look at the timing done for boys on the boy moms thread and also on FF charts in the chart gallery, you will see that most of them dtd every day or every other day and most of them one was on O day. Most of my friends IRL with boys dtd every day once there opk was positive, for like 3-4 days. I say, if it makes you feel better to do some sort of timing, then go for it. But if it stresses you out, I would try for O-2 and O timing and just not worry about it too much. I swear, my doctor told me that the best pattern for max sperm is every other day.
I don't really care too much about timing but DH has low testosterone levels so I thought that = low sperm. I don't want to do anything that will lower his levels anymore.

Lbam- there are a lot of people who the swaying rules don't seem to apply to but, personally, I feel the more you live one sway the easier you'll get your dg. I was a textbook girl swayer so I think sending my body into boy zone was easier then those who are much more 50/50.

Ttc5- sorry Hun, take care of yourself and fx you get the job, it sounds great!

I had my baby shower this weekend. It was fun to have everyone there and all that blue, almost makes me believe lol Oh and my sil didn't come, my mil layed some crap on dh about how she couldn't come because of her mom. I told dh to tell his mom how much it hurt my feelings she wouldn't come support me because of her mom. It's so not true, but if you are going to try and guilt us I'll throw it right back at ya. Great idea lol

LBAM when is your attempt?!? FX for you!!!
Due to O on Nov 30th, just deciding if I should DTD every 2nd day from now or wait a bit closer to O

Oh ladies, I don't know what to do!! So I am due to ovulate in less than 2 weeks. Been off the diet and drinks and supps pretty much just the odd Vit D and fish oil here and there.

I'm sick of swaying! It makes me depressed. Do you think I have a good enough chance at a boy if we tried again after giving up on swaying? I still think it is 50/50 LOL...

As for finances well trying to tell DH babies really don't need that much....

I would LOVE a boy, but I would gladly accept another daughter too. She would actually fit in better than a boy anyway really....
Go for it hun, get back on the supps and heavy into the diet. Maybe do more attempts this cycle. BFP vibes for you.

Maybe all the swaying has hindered you somehow? Maybe coming off of the supps and just eating when you're hungry could help you out, TTC5? If you feel good getting either gender...and you're sick of swaying...I say drop it all, have a fabulous time in the bedroom, forget timing, and just go for it!!! Take the money you were going to spend on supps and put it towards a naughty nurse uniform for the bedroom.....
(which is what I was wearing when I conceived my first DS...~blush~)

I'd just like to apologise in advance for all my posts over the next few days lol I am going crazy.
I am getting paranoid.
I really thought I was Oing around 1am today but it's only CD11 I never O this early. I was having the O twinges one side. BUT I really hope I didn't O. I am telling myself I haven't got all my signs yet.
No CM though still dry down there. Today I am getting nausea that usually starts a few days before O.
I usually get really tender in the uterus area and have cramps/pains.
BUT I've been taking EPO and that really helped with my pre AF cramps so I am thinking maybe it will help with the O pains and I won't get my symptoms.

Should I stop EPO so I make sure that I can feel O pains.
Would EPO shorten my cycle?

So if I did O it would mean we DTD then I o'd 27hrs later.

B- here's my theory behind Natalie Portman, she had just come off Black Swan so months and months of excessive dieting and training. She was probably eating like a horse and doing minimal exercise so even though her normal may have swayed girl the changes swung her the other way.

B & Flava - yup I agree, totally jealous. Our son is going to take some of the attention from hers and she hates that.

Since a few of you asked here's some pics of the decorations, the cute cupcake cake my mom made and me. I cannot believe how round my face and well everything has become.

LBAM - In that case i would start doing 1 opk each day from the 25th, then you will have 4 left by the 30th, i think that is when you said you are due to O? And even if you are a few days late you will still have enough of them.

I done one today it was neg.

A few days ago I had a feeling, something told me to start doing them on CD11 just incase I O'd early. I really didn't think I would but something was telling to start them today.

I might order some more, so I can do one each day from now just incase.

Still thinking I should just DTD every 2nd day and not worry about timing, but the post about not doing the DTD at the start of CM changes has me worried.

What is an integration aid?

I work mostly with special needs children - I love it! Alot of the children are fetal alcohol syndrome kids, it is heartbreaking :(

Aids work with kids with disabilities or learning difficulties so quite similar to what you do I guess?

MFC!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS, girl! Don't worry for one second about the lines being faint. On all of my bfps that resulted in actual children, the lines were way light on 14dpo, so light that I could barely see and had to get a second opinion, in fact. All that matters is that you have lines and that lovely word "pregnant" there! I am SOOOO happy for you! Take good care of yourself and EAT girl. See, that thyroid didn't matter at all!

3P1B, love the pics! I am so glad you had a fabulous time, and I totally would have told DH to tell her the same thing. Screw them. Who doesn't come to a baby shower for a family member? Ugh. Anyway, love seeing all that blue. I also agree with the food theory for Natalie Portman, but also think maybe her T levels were elevated from the film. She also just met and fell in love with the father, so that tends to make you dtd a whole bunch, yea?

B- it is so weird that they had boys. It really makes me think it doesn't much matter. Not that I don't believe in swaying, per se, but just that it only helps a little. I was like you before.....I knew that it isn't a guarantee, but the swaying gave me such hope and really make me think it was like a prescription for making a boy. I think seeing so many of the CBBC crew come up with blue also made me really believe that it was a formula, even though my mind knows differently.

I think we all need to remember that there are only 2 kinds of babies out there- so it is 50/50. ANY OF US has a shot at either. There is just no way to "direct" the xy sperm there, even if you do everything that any swaying site has ever said.

And TTC5, I do the same thing, just plan on a girl as a defense mechanism, even though I don't care that much anymore. Thank you for saying you really believe we will have one naturally, I hope you are right. Each month that goes on makes the hope slip away more, but then I have to remember that it may take years. Literally. I look at "low sperm count" charts on FF and they have been ttc for 24 months and stuff like that. Sheesh. But girl, you have just as good of a shot with ZERO swaying that any woman does. It's 50/50! And although I don't mean to make anyone seem like they were unlucky to have all the same gender, sometimes it just happens that way.

I will tell you Begonia, I saw the cutest family yesterday with 3 little girls, and I totally thought of you and got a warm fuzzy. The couple was so adorable and the girls all super beautiful and each one a little different. You could tell the oldest was a tomboy and the middle more girly also, and the baby, OMG was so precious and just the little centerpiece of the family. You are really going to be fine and have the most wonderful little family. You just have to let it go and let it be. I hope you are doing ok, lady. xxoo

LBAM, how do you know your DH has low T? Has he been tested? On the one hand, you have a son already, so you know it is possible. If you are worried about timing, I would seriously just go every other day. I bet it is that EPO that is shortening your cycle. Shouldn't be a problem, just keep doing the opks and track it if you can. And don't worry about freaking out, we have all done it!

November 22nd, 2011, 12:19 PM
TTC5, I meant to also add that swaying CAN be very depressing if you are not getting pg quickly. I think you should just eat normally and just try to be normal you in every way and just dtd a bunch and see what happens. And the nurse's uniform costume is not a bad idea, LOL! (DM, you kill me!!!!)

3Pink1Blue
November 22nd, 2011, 12:28 PM
MFC - congrats!!!!! Don't worry the lines are light, give it a few days and it'll be dark as can be :)

LBAM - Don't let the timing get you too crazy. There is no clear right way to get a boy or girl based on the women on these boards. Nailing O will increase your chances of a bfp period. Personally I always shot for a 4 day abstinence dtd and then waited till O or another 4 days had passed. I only dtd once after the +opk not to avoid O+12 but because my cm dries up quick and I didn't want to use lube as that's part of how I got my girls. I think your plan of focusing on diet and pH is great!

Thanks for all of your sweet comments about my pics! The shower was so great, everything bagged or wrapped in blue. We've waited so long for that, FX you all get this experience :)

DoulaMama, what time is it where you are, how long until your scan?

DH wants to DTD everyday lol we don't usually DTD / release this often, I've been releasing him every 2 days for the past few weeks. We DTD CD9 and CD11 it's now CD12 and he wants to DTD again tonight. I told him every 2 days but he says he can't wait that long anymore.

in other news, I think creamy CM might be starting.

So odd but glad AF arrived and put you out of your misery, I know it's hard but on to next month!

Today is dd2's 7th birthday, we already had her big family party and are having a just us celebration today. She's at school now but when she gets home I'm taking her out to get a couple new Hello Kitty shirts (she has a gift card after returning some ugly ass stuff from my mil and sil) probably an ice-cream cone (cause I'm a sucker) and then she gets whatever she wants for dinner (this year she wants waffles) and then lots of family time. We may even rent a movie, again I'm a sucker on birthdays lol Here's one of my favorite pics of her, dh took it this summer at the zoo.

3p1b-- Thats is so Awesome that you got to have your Blue Baby Shower, that must have been so fun! Its prob better that negitive people stayed at home! Congrats I am so happy for you !

Begonia-- I feel ya when I was preg with DD2 all my friends who were pg had Boys I had convinced myself that she was going to be a boy too, and Beleived she was a boy so when I found out she was a girl, I was kind of mourning the loss of the boy I had imagined...kinda weird I know but that is how I felt. I am very nervous about TTC because I (like You) try to think positive about the sway working that I am not sure how I wouldd feel if it doesnt work...I know that doesnt help you any but I hope it is a comfort to know that your not alone.

TTC5-- I think it is a good idea to take a mental health break...if you do a half attempt this month who knows it may be your Boy, life is kinda funny that way. But when IG crashed I took a break from planning and TTC all together and went on the pill even cause I needed some ME time, your intitled to that !

Foxy, just saw your update--sorry for the BFN :(

3P1B, Happy birthday to your DD! Have fun celebrating.

LBAM, I think it is fine to DTD two days in a row while TTC. Atomic says just not to DTD more than 3 days in a row. However, I DTD about 5 or 6 days in a row when we conceived my son... not that you should do that if it isn't good for sperm counts! But somehow my DS made it through when we did that.

fab- you must be pregnant then if the tests say so lol! Just keep on testing to see if the line go darker. So ppl only get bfp after AF is due so I guess a faint line is ok for now.
So you dtd once right? Just like for DS ! I hope it worked for yo again!

November 24th, 2011, 02:12 AM

I hope you get your long awaited BFP someday soon And Thanks for sharing X♥X♥.

My Fabulous Children
November 24th, 2011, 02:20 AM

Thanks 2p1b, Already 29wks?! You are ALMOST there- the last weeks will fly by fast!

I'm not too sure about that, but it was winter when I checked and was sleeping with a heated blanket on me.

skrimpy

Good to know, thanks.

Would having the heater on affect my BBT

Take it before you get out of bed in the morning or do any big movement. If you have the heater on every morning it won't influence your temps. When we put our down comforter on for the winter a couple of weeks ago I noticed my temps went up around half a degree and have stayed up. So I think that a heavier comforter/heater WILL influence temps, but if you are using it every night/morning your temps will be consistent for it. Does that make sense?

I have always taken mine orally before I get out of bed in the morning. Alarm goes off, I reach over and get it, take temp. Put it back on nightstand. Then I get up, go potty (use monitor at that point), etc. When I come back to make the bed I check the thermometer... it stores the temp for me :)

3, belated Happy Birthday to your DD2. That photo is gorgeous!

DM, congrats! Such fantastic news :) I don't know how you can keep it from hubby! Do you think he will sense it?

MFC, how are you doing? Are you going for a blood test soon?

LBAM, I've got a white and pink thermometer. Maybe I should chuck it and get a blue one? Haha. Skrimpy gave some great advice re temp taking.

Flava, 9dpo already! How are you feeling?

5, so your trying this month for sure? Not sure about the fish oil. I haven't bled any longer than usual.

I'm CD10 today. I had an ultrasound today which showed a dominant follicle (was secretly hoping for two dominants!). My lining is also good. So I should O in the next few days hopefully. DH released 3 days ago so we will DTD tonight and then maybe tomorrow night or the night after depending on my OPKs.

MFC - Your hcg level doubles every 48 hrs, wait 3 or 4 days then test again. With this one I went from faint at 12dpo to darker then the control line by 16dpo.

Lbam - Try to temp at the same time everyday. If you wake up at random times this could throw things off. Like Skrimpy said the electric blanket shouldn't make a difference as long as you use it everyday and keep it at the same temp. Your overall body temp will be higher but the same pattern will emerge.

Bec - ooh attempting so soon, gl and blue dust!!

Anyway I got a real positive OPK this morning so looks like O will either be tonight or most likely tomorrow. We are not going to DTD again tonight either way. ok so confirmed AF showed up 2weeks early I am not taking any hormonal supps, this screwed up my whole plan...was not expecting this till the 6th of Dec....I think I am gonna log off for a few days Good luck ladies! Baby dust to you all!

Oh bummer, but you know, when you do fall pregnant (and you WILL) they baby you get will have come from this journey you are on. I lost my very first pregnancy at 10 weeks (devistated), 3 months later i fell pregnant, 9 months later i gave birth to the most beautiful angel and i cant help but almost feel grateful for my screwed up journey because i would not have had her otherwise.

Will you try again Flava?
No we are not. It would be silly loose all this weight just to start putting it back again.
i was thinking...Maybe I did get exactly what i wanted anyway. b
Because until after DD2 I never ever though of having a boy at all.
I always wanted girls , could not even think of a baby as a boy. For me babys are girls.
But some one put it in my ears that we need a boy too and that's how this all started.
Sure 1 boy would be nice but we don't have it and that's it.
I think it is a lot harder for someone who always wanted boys and only have girls . Im not saying it's not sad a little , but I look forward to be me again not this fat person.lol Spend more time with my girls and move out of baby stage...9this is sad because I love babys , but hey an't have one forever anyway)
And even if I would get another baby there is no guaranty it would have been a boy.

Flava, I am sad that you are done TTC, but you sound like you are at peace with your decision. I hope you stick around a while!

LBAM, can't help you with the OPKs, I don't get much of a fade in at all. Good luck with your attempts.

Hobber, thanks for the luck :)

5, thanks for the advice re timing.

So, I had another u/s today and it shows I haven't O'd yet. So I so don't trust OPKs anymore. Maybe it was the Clomid giving me false positives, who knows? Anyway I had a trigger injection so I know exactly when O will be (40 hours after the injection). That means I will O at 5am on Wednesday. So we are going to DTD tonight (Mon) and tomorrow night (Tue). I would ideally like to do it early Wednesday morning instead of Tuesday but don't know how practical that will be. We didn't end up DTD last night. So I think we will be ok with timing after all! Yay!

I would DTD as late Tues as you can. I think it is better to have the swimmers up there waiting when the egg is released. So if you DTD on Tues at midnight (well, I guess that is technically Wednesday) then those sperm will be right there when the egg pops out 5 hours later!

A trigger injection contains HCG which helps follicles mature and helps release of the egg/s. It is almost guaranteed to make you O if you have a mature follicle. My fertility specialist gives it to me. The only downside is that if you test to early it can give you false positives HPTs.

I think you're right with the timing. If we DTD tonight (Tue) then the swimmers will be waiting for the egg. Thanks for the advice!

LBAM, can I also ask why were you DTD unprotected as well? I'm not judging or criticising at all, just wondering as that's not the general recommendation I don't think. Maybe I've got it wrong but for a boy attempt 'most' people are aiming to DTD unprotected right around O and not throughout the cycle? But in saying that if you are trying to get pregnant quickly then you may want to DTD unprotected every 2nd/3rd day. Hope I haven't confused you!

I asked about Daily DTD and about it swaying pink and someone said for daily DTD will not sway girl.
You have to do daily release and something twice and day for 10 days and then after the 10days you do your attempt.
Daily DTD put extra sperm into the crypts where you want them for boy.
I'll see if I can find the post.

We didn't start trying on CD9 I only done it then cause I thought I was in the safe zone, as the time got closer I wanted to stop but then I thought what if I do stop for a while then I O early I could possibly have a 3-4day cut off which is how I got my girls.

We don't usually DTD this often we could easily go a week or 2-3 weeks without anything.
About 4-5 weeks ago we started release every 2nd day.
Around CD9 I decided it would be safe to DTD once.
I was telling DH we need to release every 2nd day for the best sperm production.
During the releasing he was fine then after a while he said his body was craving it everyday. As I said he could go weeks without it before, but FR made his body want it more, every 2days was fine, then it was daily. After about a week he said his body was wanting it like every 12hrs.

I thought it wouldn't really matter cause everyone keeps saying timing is the least important factor.

Maybe I won't get pregnant this cycle, guess only time will tell.

Weight loss has kinda plateaued out, as I have just been comfort eating lately and just working my butt off. DON'T WORRY! Timing doesn't sway!!!!! Zillions of boys are made dtd every day during the whole fertile period, including just about every boy baby that I know IRL- seriously, I asked all of my friends and they were dtd a bunch since they were trying. You'll be fine! Just remember, there is nothing that will "get" you a boy anyway. If you get pg, you just have to keep your fingers crossed that your dice ends up on blue, but be prepared that it may not. Not to be hopeless about swaying, but you just have to remember that timing has not been shown to matter.

Foxy, yea....I am not really doing the diet, just a healthy diet where I have gone vegetarian (for the most part) and cut back on calories. I was pushing a 35lb + gain from swaying and doing the boy diet for a year and a half. I've gotten to the point where I can't anymore, I am really not a candidate to sway since we have fertility issues, but I still hang out and support everyone since I learned so much about it for the past year and a half! Feel free buddy up with me if you are wanting to lose some! I think Atomic started a thread for that, but if not, I will.

I never took my temp lol I kept forgetting.
Can I temp now? Probably not, I would need pre-O temp to compare to?

I think I just got a little bit of EWCM but not sure. There was some clear CM but also some cloudy stuff to, I think that could be from last night though.

Why does it have to be so confusing.

If it it EWCM and I am Oing now. DTD was approx 13hrs before O.

I think I might use protection from now on, what do you think ?

Yeah it is probably useless unless you have some pre O temps as well. If you are O'ing now then you would want to use protection for a few days. At least until you are out of the fertile window anyway.

MOST of the time pre-O temps are in the 97's and post O are in the 98's. But you would need something to compare, I think.

This is an interesting study, I often wonder myself if using the laptop so close to my belly would bother the baby.

Thank you. I'm very happy to hear this :) :) :)

My OPT was - today, I'm so confused I don't know if I have O'd and missed the surge or I haven't O'd yet.
Wondering if I am in the 2ww now or what.

How often have you been testing and have you any other signs like EWCM?

I would for a few days at least just to avoid an O+12.

I dont think you have O'd yet, you have seemed to be sure about it the past couple of months, keep doing OPT's im pretty sure it is still going to go dark, just seems like you have a longer cycle this time and that is happening all over the board, so its normal.

I've been testing every morning, I tried a few night ones but the 2nd line was really faint and sometimes no 2nd line at all

Thats what I was thinking.

Yeah I used to have really bad O pains, and bad AF's but this cycle the EPO really helped I had hardly any pains at all, my AF finished 1 day earlier.
I've had some back pain today and a few little cramps, but nothing like I used to have.
I had CM today I think there was some EWCM but there was also some cloudy CM but not sure if it was CM or TMI - - Stuff left over from DTD last night.

I think I'll stop DTD, and keep doing the OPT's and if I get a + I'll DTD

LBAM, that sounds like a good plan. It doesn't sounds like you have o'd yet.

I guess it makes sense that your body will take a bit of time to get used to the decrease in calories and nutrients. Are you still taking supps?

Not many, just a prenatal, Fertilaid for Women, fish oil, and a supergreen supplement (it's got like 30 different green things in it....my DH takes it too). Other than that, not really. I just can't keep spending all this money on too much for me since my DH's supps for sperm are costly! I still think we spend a good $100 a month on them. But hey, they are healthy for us anyway, so that is easily justified. I will happily spend money on food and vitamins that are good for my family.

I agree with this! Maybe lay off the sex for a day or two while you continue taking some opks.....it is very common for swaying (either the supps or the stress) to delay or move up your ovulation. Just keep testing, but maybe lay off your DH for a day or two until it starts turning darker?

Big hugs Lola. I had a good cry and spoiled the crap out of my girls on my due date. I was still sad, just a little less sad.

Hi ladies, Just a quick update on how things are going.. I've been so busy lately ..and I'll catch up with everyone later!

My hcg level at 19 DPO was 303 and then today they did another HCG blood test & progesterone level. I will get these results tomorrow or after... but I' m so nervous... Does this level sound normal? :worry:
