Oh boo, Hobbs. Well, better luck for next month. I'm sorry, hun.

Trying not to be down myself. Just not feeling it today.

Lame, isn't it? I was all excited that you, me and soni would all have the same due date! Oh well. Maybe we will next month.

I am pretty sure I am out. My temp dropped to 98.2 this morning, and looking at my chart, I think I will get AF tomorrow. I am not even going to POAS if my temp is down more in the morning. :( No point in wasting a test!

So sorry, Hobbs! :(

Yahmama, the temp rise could be triphasic if implantation has occurred. See what it does tomorrow!

It def. looks triphasic to me!

What's triphasic mean?

Like has three phases of temps, or pretty much two rises....like it rises after O and then rises again dramatically after implantation.

Yahmama
January 20th, 2012, 04:28 PM
You see two clear shifts after ovulation. This explains it better:

I feel lame for getting all excited the last few days. It would have been fun to have the same due date. Well, we are not out yet. Good to remember! I just went to lunch with a friend and her 9 week old, and she said she didn't feel anything when in the 2ww, so reminded me that being symptom-less isn't necessarily bad. She had to ttc for 7 months, but she had a vitamin d deficiency, she told me, and once she got more in her system, she got pg. At least you guys know you will at some point most likely conceive! I hate my limbo land of hell, especially since we decided we just can't do IVF....too expensive and not fair to other kids to be poor for 5-7 years paying it off just to have another one.

I hope it's not an ectopic :( Your level does seem low but don't they always say it's not the value of the hcg that matters so much but whether it doubles appropriately or not?

Is your sister ok? How awful :(

I hope my level is ok :(

She is stable :'(

Oh, whoops, I went a little nuts with all the posts...

AF showed today. I was totally expecting her to so I'm not too disappointed. I had a blood test this morning for hcg and progesterone so just waiting to hear back from my doctor as to what the plan for this cycle is. Either another Clomid cycle or FSH injections. Either either, I don't care as long as it works!

I'm so sorry that bitch showed :(

Morning, ladies.

Bec- thank you for the encouragement, you are a sweetheart. I am sorry you got AF....you think you may try the injectibles this time? How many months will your doc let you do Clomid? Mine said 6 months, but I only did 3. I know you'll get there, girl.

TTC5- how is your sis? I am so sorry!!!! Good to hear that bean is ok still. xxoo

LBAM- arg on the long cycle....I am sorry, honey. Why do you think there is no way your are pg?

3P1B- so happy Charlie is looking good and almost ready to go! I am so excited for you!!!!!!! And seriously, I saw your belly pic on the grads page and I looked WAY bigger at your stage with both, and I was a size 4-6 to begin with. I think you look great!

SO, I have this burning sensation cramp today (11dpo). Did anyone have that in the 2ww? Makes me think that AF is coming. So kinda bummed today. Yesterday, my boobs felt gigantic and sore, and not as much today. I resisted testing this morning because I am trying to hold out hope that I will get a birthday bfp in the morning, but I'm kinda doubting it now.

Those strong craps - YES I had them so much I went to the dr thinking something was wrong lol... I think I may have implanted much later than I had thought!!! It would kind of make sense with my low levels (I hope so anyway).

Sis is ok, have to wait for her to wake up and get the od out her system to check for perm. damage.

BFN! :( Tested today morning at 10dpo with a cheapie. Will test again at 12dpo with FRER. No symptoms today. I feel its all in my head now!

Give it a few days at least xx

That is alot hey :( I don't know how your medical system works. Do you have something like we have here (Medicare) which covers some things if you do not have private health insurance? xx

Oh, our med/insurance system is BULLSHIT in America. I have regular health insurance through my job, costs my company about $250 a month just for me, and it covers bare minimum expenses, basically. No infertility expenses at all. Bare minimum for maternity stuff. No ultrasounds are covered. How awful is that? I make more than the limit for medicare, which we do have in USA also, but it doesn't go for infertility at all, just basic stuff. People who use medicare here just get bare bare minimum of care. Infertility and assisted reproduction in America is super expensive and not many insurance policies cover it from what I understand.

I looked into it locally, and we could get a medical loan for it, but I'd have to pay like $500-$700 a month for 6-7 years. That's a big bite into our monthly budget, and if we had a baby on top of it, we would be REALLY cutting our lifestyle down, like big time. It's just not worth it to us. I'd rather try IUI (which is $1000 or so) and just keep trying until we are out of steam or eggs, LOL....then life will just be what it is and we'll still have my 2 girls.

When would you get going on this? I think that sounds like a great option--do they freeze the sample? Maybe you could have your DH give 2-3 samples and use them all at once? (I think this may have been suggested before? Sounds familiar).

Hoping to see some BFP's tomorrow gals ... it is funny how many of your cycles are all running together :) Isn't that what they say happens to women who live together? Good heavens ... my life in 8 years with all these girls  I'll switch from having my diapers delivered monthly (whoo hoo for Amazon!) to having tampons arrive by the caseload!

FX for normal cycles Skrimpy!

LBAM I'm sorry this wasn't your month :( FX for you hun.

5, hope your sis pulls through with no permanent damage :( How difficult. :hugs:

I am thinking it would be anywhere from 15-25 thousands. Just too much for us to handle.

It's extremely expensive in America, that's why a lot of Americans travel overseas to get it done. Even with airfares it still works out cheaper!

I'm really worried I'm going to lose this pregnancy or that it is ectopic :(
Just looking at dates etc and the day I got the beta test I was around 12/13 dpo (not exactly sure but I was no more than 13dpo) and beta was only 26. Have been doing googling and can't find anything on other people having a beta THIS low and progressing. Going to be a long wait till Wednesday. I'm just not feeling confident at all :(

We'll all be thinking of you and hoping that little bean just implanted a lot later and is still growing fine! It must be so hard to wait that long for another beta! Why are they waiting until Wed? If there was any possibility of an ectopic wouldn't they want to catch it as soon as possible??? Doesn't make sense to me why they wouldn't want to take your numbers every day??

January 20th, 2012, 11:42 PM

I'm not actually sure how many Clomid cycles he will let me do. I have a script for another x4 months worth so I'll just wait and see what he suggests. 6 is what I have heard as well.

Can't say I have had the burning sensation. Hoping it's a good sign :) Praying for your birthday bfp! Happy Birthday for when you wake up!!

Hobber, sorry about the temp drop :( I hope it jumps back up again.

5, hopefully you implanted late like Cinss said. Stick little bubba! How's your sis now? When I googled my hcg of 22 (14dpo) I actually found some people who had low levels like mine and that went on to have healthy babies. You had your beta a few days before that so I am sure plenty of people have gone on to have babies, just like you will :)

Hobber, the temp drop sucks. Are you still testing?

Lola, hope you get a beautiful birthday BFP!

So ladies, I tested today - well its still the middle of the night here. At 12dpo with a FRER and BFN :( Now, ill just wait for AF to show up in 2 or 3 days. Such a bummer! I dont know what all of that cramping that I got at 8 and 9dpo was all about. Well maybe, thats a normal thing for me as I am not aware of my cycles.

POP, I'm beginning to feel like I'll be a bit of a loner in here too ;)

Soni, did you test again today? It's so frustrating waiting for AF to come, you just want things to hurry up!

Bec, no I did not test again. Figured I should just save the FRERs for the next cycle. AF is due tomorrow so I wish she would hurry up and just get here.. lol. Then I can start planning the next cycle. This is only our first month TTC so well I should give it some time. DH keeps telling me I should not be so obsessed with this swaying stuff. He is happy with another girl so he refuses to do anything with swaying including giving me his sample to check its ph! :tissue:

I just had a really small amount of spotting, if you would call it that. Not at all blood, more like CM mixed with really old blood as it was like a really light tan colour. I know I got this with the others but ugh it makes you panic. Hopefully is "implantation residue". Only an hr till my beta results come in hopefully. On a good note, my boobs are soooo sore!!!! I only got this with my second pregnancy (a twin pregnancy).

soni - if you really want to check your DH's PH i'm sure we could come up with a way so he won't even know. There must be times where you have access to the sample, i mean not in a cup?

Soni, I would do like the others said to get DH's sample. I sometimes check DH's pH after he has released on my stomach. I test the bit that isn't touching my skin, so the bit on top (if that makes sense!).

5, waiting, waiting! Hopefully the browny CM is nothing to worry about!

Got my beta results.
So this is how it is going so far:
17 Jan: 3
19 Jan 26
23 Jan 195

Dr said it isn't rising very fast? I worked it out and looks like it is at least doubling every 48hrs? Said it was compatible with a 4week pregnancy. I am 4w5d today. He is now going on about a bloated ovum WTH?!! Ughhhh :(

Plum3
January 23rd, 2012, 01:05 AM
It is doubling every 48 hours, which is good!

Could you have possibly O'd later? Maybe you're not as far along as you think?

So are you 19dpo now?

TTC5
January 23rd, 2012, 01:15 AM
Yep I have the strongest lower back ache for 2 days along with strong cramping it was very perculiar! This happened on Jan 15 & 16 approx 9 & 10 DPO.
I ovulated around CD17.
Tested with a FRER on 11DPO and BFN. Got a V V V V faint BFP 12 DPO. That morning had a beta and was just a 3. My tests are now dark as can be, I have VERY sore boobs now too.

Plum3
January 23rd, 2012, 01:21 AM

Yeah it's hard to say exactly how far along and when egg met sperm etc. Even if you did ovulate on a certain day, doesn't mean it met the sperm the same day. Could have been a day or so later. Hurry up scan I say :)

Hey everyone-

Thanks for the birthday love! And HBD to you also, Foxy!

Sorry to not update this weekend. I got really bummed out on Saturday after a bfn. I had to work and there was practically a monsoon outside, so I was just plain pissed all day. Not the best birthday, to say the least. I still haven't had AF (am 14dpo) but I took some progesterone supps this month so I am sure it will be here later today or tomorrow. I feel a bit crampy again. Ah well. Knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up!

BUT YAY, HOBBER!!!! I am so excited you got yours this month!!!! Congrats, honey!

And yes, I think we may need to look into IUI. I know they can take like 10 samples and wash and use them all. My DH got really sad about his sperm thing on Saturday.....I told him we need to decide what to do soon, because I feel like we had a good shot this month and obviously, it didn't work. I go back and forth with just trying forever and then taking action. We did talk about him going to a repro urologist once we get our tax return and saving that money for whatever we need to do to fix his balls or do IUI or whatever. I am just scared my eggs will die off before anything happens.

Kris, good luck with your test! How much does IVF cost over there?

TTC5, no more googling! I think you are fine, and no more stressing about it! That brownish d/c was likely just residue like you said. Your bean is probably burrowing down nice and deep in there. I can't believe your doc would start talking blighted ovum to you either, that is ridiculous. Why would you get a newly pg woman all worried like that? There is no way to tell you will have a BO, it just happens. Jeez. Well, FX for another nice beta rise! And sorry boobs is a really good sign things are going nicely.

Bec, here's to another round of Clomid- hope it works for you! I guess docs are all different on how long they'll let you take it. I may need to get on it someday again myself.

Soni, sorry about the bfns. I had the telltale cramps right at the perfect implantation days also....and I normally don't get them either. Guess that's why I got so excited about a miracle month. Better luck for us next month!

LBAM, sorry about Af for you also. At least you are on to your next cycle. FX it is a bit more predictable for ya.

SO, interestingly, I decided to totally waste $15 and do one of those psychic things. Ruby finally got back to me and said I'd have 2 more, 1st one a boy with a bfp Jan 2012 (apparently not) or EDD of Jan 2013. Then a girl with a bfp in April 2014 or EDD of April 2015. She said she confirmed it with the babies three times for accuracy. Well, that is very interesting, no?

Lola, I am so sorry for your BFN :( What kind of tests are you using? Didn't you say that you used those IC ones--the Wondfo ones that come with the OPKs? I used a FRER and got a faint line on Saturday, but I used one of those Wondfo ones too, and it was negative. I did one this morning just to see if it worked yet, and it was such a light line I had to hold it right under a light to even see it. I think those Wondfo tests aren't very sensitive. Since AF isn't here yet, maybe you shouldn't give up yet! Maybe Ruby was right!!

Oh and we DTD daily right around O!!! And used pre seed!! With my girls I had no EWCM and didn't use anything to help either.

Lola, so sorry about the bfn. It sucks getting one but it's even worse when you're waiting for AF, knowing you're not pregnant. So are you leaning more towards doing IUI? I'm not very familiar with it, is it very successful with low sperm count? My friend who is just starting her IVF cycle in a few weeks got told that IUI wouldn't work for her and her husband (they have male factor too). I hope Ruby is right! I'm onto downloading the crystal ball app too.

Yahmama, you just described my boobs. How terribly sad for us!

5, I can't wait til my boobs get bigger again. I can live in denial for at least 9 months.

POP, stupid crystal ball, total rubbish.

So, spoke to my doctor today. Seems like I may have had another chemical pregnancy last cycle. My bloods on 13dpo showed a hcg of 4 and I started spotting that day. I did a FRER on 12dpo and got what I thought was an evap line, now I know it was for real. At least I didn't really know this time and didn't get my hopes up. Anyway... we're going to do another two Clomid cycles and if no bfp then move onto injections.

Bec, I'm SO sorry about the cycle/chemical! I think it's a good idea to think about switching it up soon. It is best to not know sometimes, I am with you on that.

I have read online that you can't do IUI with a count like my DH's. We could maybe try to combine a bunch of frozen samples. I just know that it is way, way cheaper than IVF, although it's more of a gamble for success.

I am just at a loss....I cannot believe that we have conceived 3 times before, and now nothing????? I have to think that his sperm levels fluctuate or something. I just can't figure it out. I am making an appt with a reproductive urologist for him and biting the bullet- we need to figure out what is wrong. I am not sure just trying and trying until my eggs are gone is a good plan for my psyche anymore.

So no BFP again? :( I was hoping it was just the Wondfos. I'm sorry, Lola. I was really thinking you'd get one this month!

I think you are making the right move by going to the Dr. about your DH. I hope they have some answers and solutions. And I definitely think if nothing else, you should do IVF.

I thought you said IVF was only $1000? Not that that is just a minuscule amount, but in the medical world, it seems pretty affordable. But I know we don't ever have $1000 laying around, so I know it might be hard to come up with. Can you get a loan from family?

OH Bec I'm so very sorry dear :( Sending you a lot of sticky vibes THIS cycle!

Plum3
January 24th, 2012, 06:39 PM
Lola, thanks :) Hopefully I won't need to do anything but Clomid but at least I know we'll move on if nothing comes of it. I've never been tested for clotting disorders, no one has ever mentioned it to me.

That's reassuring about the IUI. I agree, it is bizarre that you have conceived before with DH and now nothing. I think that sounds like a great plan to see a urologist, you don't want to keep waiting and waiting without knowing.

I went to the dr. today to have my thyroid checked--I only have 1/2 my thyroid due to a lump they found last pregnancy that was precancerous. So I wanted to make sure things were okay now. They took some blood and I guess I will hear back tomorrow. I wasn't really eager to tell the dr. about TTC, especially after the nurse asked if my pregnancy was "a good thing"--she meant it in the nicest possible way; I think she was worried about me having an unplanned pregnancy after 3 kids--so I just told them we weren't preventing. My dr. was pretty funny about it, but supportive. He is the same doctor I have had through all my pregnancies, and he is my kids' doctor too. I said I wanted to get a CVS, so he said he'd call the special doctor that he thinks does them in our area. I may have to drive 2.5 hrs away to get one if the guy around here doesn't do them.

3pink1blue- yes im am offically team BLUE!! sorry this thread moves so fast i missed 1 day and your post was 5 or 6 pages ago. i went saturady for an elective scan, i couldn't wait any longer. and no he wasn't shy at all. the thing is, im terrified now. i mean i gave up. 10 years of swaying blue and i got 7 girls. the one time i give up and just do a girl sway and i got a boy. girls are a comfort thing for me i think, i know how to raise a girl. i have no idea what to do with a boy.. what if i screw him up? what if he hates all this girl stuff? what if he hates having 5 sisters who boss him around?
so don't give up ladies i mean if i can get a boy after a girl sway and 7 girls in a row... anyone can get a boy.

Girlmom- I so get this. I'm worried about having a boy as well for the same reasons and it doesn't help that when people learn I have three girls and soon a boy they all say "oh that poor little guy". Dh has brothers and I have a sister, will he be lonely with just sisters who have each other? Will the girls be annoyed with the little brother since all they know are sisters? DD1 loves to bath and change babies but she's reluctant to change a boy. I know I'll feel differently in a few weeks but right now there's a bit of that comfort zone panic going on.

TTC5 how long was your LMP? I am finding it hard to get my head around it, but i think you would have O'd around the 5th, then got your BFP at 12DPO (17th Jan) so implantation occured anywhere from the 6th to the 16th, so lets say it was the 6th, then the measurement should be 3 weeks, which it is out obviously, so if we throw on 2 more weeks from LMP the measurement should be 5 weeks but that is out too, your measurement is in the middle of them both so i dont know, maybe it is a tad bigger or smaller than the average at the moment.

The only other explination i can come up with is that you O'd super early on the 29th (CD9?) and implanted right away, then got your BFP on 19DPO (hmm not very likely), but then you would measure exactly 4w1d.

She did ask when my LMP was and I told her 21 Dec which should put me at 5w 2 day but when she measured on ultrasound the screen showed up 4w 1d.

They always go on the assumption of a regular 28 day cycle which is so silly because not everyone O's on CD14.

When do you get your results?

Maybe the dates are a little off, try not worry. I know, easier said than done.

So gestational age is 5w2d and fetal age is 4w1d, usually fetal age is 2 weeks less than gestational age, so your measurement should have been 3w2d, so i think it is growing just fine, actually growing great.

No there was only a Gestational Sac found measuring 4w 1d. Nothing else, no yolk or anything. Just a very very small looking sac.

Very confusing hey! All I can think of, is that the embryo is just not growing?? I don't know :(

Hey! I hope I'm not butting in here.... this thread just peaked my interest because I went through this same thing with our youngest son :)

TTC5 - I had the exact same thing happen with our youngest son. Ultrasound measurements were off. I had about 8 ultrasounds in the first trimester as result of that and bleeding. I had one that said I was due March 5th, then another one a week later saying I was due March 17th, and therefore had me thinking the embryo hadn't grown, etc. My midwife however, explained to me (in all my panic and confusion!) that these ultrasounds are not an exact science. At that early stage, they are measuring something the size of a grain of rice - they measure in mm. So, if at 5 weeks the baby should be 4mm, and at 6 weeks the baby should be 8mm, you have to take into account the fact that the little cursor on the ultrasound (they put a cursor at each end of the embryo to measure it) is a mm thick itself, which can make it up to 2mm off in either direction. Also, if the embryo isn't facing perfectly lengthwise, they could be taking a slight cross section, which woud be smaller than if they were able to measure perfectly from head to toe. Does that make sense? I hope it helps ease your fear..... I remember being such an emotional disaster for weeks thinking the baby wasn't growing and I was going to miscarry. He's great now though, and turns 1 next month ;) Good luck :)
