TTC Girl - March 2012

I saw a January thread like this and thought i would make one for us ttc in March as im not sure where to post my questions etc!

Im am currently on CD1 and my diet starts today :worry: i am also going to start DH and I on our suppliments today in prep for our attempt in March. Is this too soon to start taking them???

I will be taking vitex, saw palmetto, folic acid and baby aspirin.
DH will be taking licquorice root and baby aspirin.

Our attempt will be mid/end March, DH will abstain as im sure he has super :bluesperm: he only needs to sneeze and im pregnant with a :DS:
We will attempt for O+12 with only one attempt no big O for me and i will jump and dump.
Will also be using rephresh and replens and zyrtec.

We currently have 3 :DS: and would love to add alittle :DD: to our lives.

HappyLea, I am going to *try* to sway.. try, bc I am so brand new to this.. I am a little overwhelmed. I keep thinking, yes.. then no, then yes.. then no lol. what I really want to do that is going to be a little difficult at first is the diet. I am at work from 7:30-5 so I basically have breakfast here and lunch. how do I explain my lunches to my coworkers? I KNOW they will ask. I am also trying to get some ideas as to what to have for lunches. I know that skipping breakfast is the best way to go.. I am trying to do it slowly. this week, I've been having a wheat muffin. also, what is hard for me is drinking something other than water.. but I know that I can get CL to add to it.. so CL is on my grocery list for sure. sigh.. so much to think about.. and.. I also am not clear on supps. I just got some cranberry last night.. do I take that the whole month or just from af to o? sorry for the long ramble!! just a newbie here lol

I believe that is a lot of SP. The does should be 320mg daily af-o.
Your plan looks very ambitious. 1 time attempt @ o+12, j&d plus 3 jellies....it might be very very hard to concieve with all that. Have you thought about posting your plan on "review my swaying plan" and getting some feedback. Its for dream members but it might be a really good idea for you to do. Just a thought.

my cycle was really funny this month (got off mirena end of Dec) so got a period first of Jan and this last one was 3rd of Feb. so, I'm not sure yet lol.. I'll be testing for sure.

Hello ladies.....I just wanted to join in. I am going to TTC in March. I have 5 boys....I am originally from IN Gender. I did EGS with baby 5 for a girl and got my 5th boy. I was going to go high tech but recently after going through testing and scheduling backed out! My husband and I just thought we have one shot and its a lot of money to gamble and not possibly get pregnant. With a lot of thought I have come to another avenue on this journey. I am going to do a sperm wash or spinning instead. It's not Micro sort (which my RE doesn't even recommend) and its not the Erickson method either. It's called Kaneko Percoll method. I have someone that I know who did it and was successful first try. I know its not like PGD and the % of getting a girl is only about 75-80% but It is definately not as evasive as IVF. I am still taking supps for myself and my hubby...have been for months now. I will be taking clomid as requested by my doctor. 50Mg for 5 days before. I have just ovulated this month, so now the wait begins. Early March when I get aunt Flo, I will start my clomid and go in for Ultra sound monitoring and go from there. My doctor told me that she is going to do the IUI when my eggs is ready to be released for menstration. I will be closely monitored with ultrasound during the process. She said that more girls are conceived during this time of Ovulation (which would be O+12). So with the IUI she is going to wait till right before the egg is going to be released to inseminate me. She does this with close monitoring. I know this is crazy being as I have 5 boys already, but I have faith...faith this will happen for me....faith in my dr. She is one of the best with this. I have to believe that this will work out for me. If you ladies only knew how long my journey has been with wanting a girl (or gender dreaming). The things I have done....made my husband do...the supps over the years I have taken...made my husband take. The crazy experiments I have had to do with test tubes, egg whites, checking PH, eating, not eating. I even went to an amusement park with a Diva Cup inside me to get pregnant with a girl. I feel like I am going crazy....obsessed as my hubby would say! It's my time....I deserve this! This is 100% my final time at this....and my God, I better succeed!! This is it...if it doesn't work...it's over for me!!! Good lUck ladies! Hopefully we will all be preggo with GIRLS in March! Sorry for the condensed version of my story...a bit choppy but you get where I am coming from!!!

wow I'm shocked by that - I think that's one of the more extreme things I've ever heard of anyone doing for a sway!
is there evidence it sways in women? did genderconsult recommend that?

I think I remember reading that it doesn't sway that much. I have a friend who is a heavy smoker and she conceived 2 boys. the first one, I would say she had more of a girl friendly diet and was super thin.. her second, she had more boyish diet and she was heavier. so IDK..

No, it's not recommended by gender consult, something from my own twisted mind ;-)
I will not put my baby's health at stake so that's why I quit when i ovulated. I really don't care if I live 2 years (for example) shorter if this helps to bring me my girl. I know it's sways only by a few %.

Probably due to O towards the end of March, but I am not going to obsess over the dates FF tells me this time, as my body is on a whole different program!

I still think pray for princess has good chance. And Pray for princess to reassure you, I've read that gender does not determine when the baby implants, so boy or girl could be a late implanter. It's all about how fast / slow the whole process goes. I did get a BFP at 9 or 10 dpo this pregnancy but I'm sure I would have gotten if it with my boys too if I hadn't been so clueless about concieving them, LOL.

I still think you'll get a BFP, at least I'm hoping. The blood worries me a little, though it probably was implantation bleeding, even though you didn't have a lot of it, the fact that it kept coming is a bit like 'huh'? Though not trying to scare you or worry you hun...I still think you could have an awesome shot at getting a BFP.

I am sooo hungry too. I have been on the diet for what seems like forever - but 9 weeks and never has the eating only 2x day and low calories bothered me. Last few days, its killing me. All I wanna do it eat all day. Bit of light bleeding again today for about 1 hour. That's it. It comes and then its gone. Temp's are still really high. Lord know's. BFP pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease come soon!
Dh has invited a friend over for dinner tomorrow night and I am wondering what to make. I found this delicious Cabernet Short Ribs with Parmesan polenta recipe I reeeally wanna try making -- I hope I see those 2 lines in the morning (12dpo) and I will be racing to the store for the ingredients.

I cannot believe we are basically in MArch. WOW. I think because Feb was short Pinkin was the only BFP, but several attempts are in the 2 WW right now.

PFP~ I agree with Auroara I do not believe timing of BFP's how early they show have anyhting to do with gender. I was also clueless about when I could test with my first pregnancy, and the next two where not planned and I was like where's AF? thats weird!

This 2ww is exhausting...I have never gotten a bfp early so why would I expect to now? Maybe just hopes to end this torturous wait.

Hi ladies....Good luck! I am TTC this month as well but with a little help with IUI and sperm washing for a girl! I posted a few pages earlier my story......I have 5 boys and have done all the extreme swaying before! Was gonna do IVF, but we decided that its too much for us to gamble all that money and NOT get pregnant! I am living proof that this GENDER dream just does not go away!! I have 5 boys which are my world but I just can't grasp not having my own little girl! Here's to PINK dust and everyone getting their dream! I will be starting clomid this month.....I think its day 4 of my cycle, which should be around the 10th or 12th of March. I am a little scared!! The dr. has me on 50mg with prog. I am so scared to over stim and not be able to do the IUI or even more having 2 or 3 babies from this!!! I am pretty fertile so that worries me and my hubby to death! I just want one little girl!! Please pray for me and pray that we see 2 or 3 follicles brewing when the time is near!!! So excited.....a little scared since I have been waiting for this day for the last year! I have a a 16 month old and I just went for an HSG where they check my tubes with dye and it's all clear in there!! Never had a problem before......Oh lastly, I am still taking supps and my hubby too! I know the IUI surpasses everything but I am taking no chances!! As for my hubby.....he is a must with Supps!! I had him originally of fert blend for like 3 months because we were going to do IVF. then when I switched to IUI the dr. said he didn't need it. So, now I have him taking 1 pill of calcium so 500mg with 1 pill of Mag which is 250mg and 1 pill of Cranberry which is 500mg. I am making sure that he's making those girls in there!!! Not sure what else I can have him do on day of IUI....any ideas??? He has to produce in the dr.'s office (He is dreading that) but any advice for anything would really help!! I have about 2 weeks....right?? Then I take the clomid and my dr. controls the rest!! Anyone know a good chinese gender calendar that is reliable?? Most say March is a good month for a girl! I know I am being superstitious but I am throwing everything in this!! Wish me luck!!!

i wouldnt worry about late implanting meaning boy.
my last pregnancy was an obvious BFP 9DPO and he is all boy.
and the one before him was 10 dpo, also a boy....

not sure with this one, as i didnt test untill 12 dpo...

also the testing times, vary depending on your LP.
my LP is longer, about 18 days, so my last pregnancy was a BFP 9 DPO, which was also 9 days before AF was due.

I am frusterating -- it si so annoying. Never had anything like this happen to me.
So I have been doing a crazy amount of looking this "implantation bleeding up". Most women have it anywhere from a one time wipe with a little blood, to on and off spotting for up to 7 days. It seems that most women who get spotting before their period is due is either because 1)they were on the pill and missed some/ or messed it up (NOT me). 2) They have low levels of progesterone causing them to spot/bleed early (NOT me, as I always have had 14-15 day lp's). 3) Their hormones are outta whack due to a miscarriage, med's etc (NOT me). 4)They are pregnant and it is implantation bleeding (HOPING that IS me!).

It just appears that pregnancy is the only thing it could be. The sucky thing -- all the women who experienced implantation bleeding did not usually get a bfp til at least 4 days after it stopped or til a few days after their af was due. This means more waiting around for me.
I mean, if Monday comes and no af -- then I have to be pregnant. I HATE this.
I know Suregena had a missed af and a hard time last month - but she was no experiencing "implantation" spotting.
There is nothing there now -- and has not been since noon today. But the same thing happened to me yesterday.
Here's to hoping that I see no more spotting and that I get my bfp soon.

Hi everyone, some of you may remember me from earlier; i decided i needed a break from all of this for a bit, but now i am back and excited to hopefully conceive my baby girl in March:XX: Even though i havent been posting I have been coming online and checking what you've all been up to every few days to try and stay in the loop, lol. I have stayed strong with my diet (despite a couple of cheats here and there) but my motivation is really strong. Whenever it gets tough i just think, would i rather have this chocolate bar or a baby girl? And all of us here have the same answer to that! I'm probably not consuming enough calories so i am mindful of that at the moment, and because i dont really have much weight to lose i want to up the calories a little bit so that the week before O i can restrict those extra calories and try to lose some weight before TTC. Basically i am just waiting for AF to arrive (prob about 4 days away). This month i missed my LH surge, i became a little slack/distracted and i think i just tested a day too late, grr. Anyway, i am planning on testing early and testing a lot this next cycle so i can be absolutely sure to catch that egg - DP and i are doing just 1 attempt after abstain - so I am planning to TDT right on O or just before.
Happy to 'see' some old faces and some new ones. Everyone is trying so damn hard on here you should all be super proud of yourselves, whatever sway tactics you're using.

Exactly Peony, it starts to become all-consuming and it was all i thought about, so i needed to take a step back and while i was still swaying with diet, rephresh, no exercise, etc, i had to remove myself from reading all the info and advice and sway attempts. But it feels great to be back with you all!:hugs:
And just to update, about 20 mins after i posted today i went to the toilet and hello AF :wave: So i guess i am also CD1 today - 4 days early but not a surprise as my cycles jump b/w about 27 -33 days, i never know how long its going to be. No wonder i missed my LH surge last cycle! So i guess i better start really putting things into gear, i've got less time than i thought:nails:

Rainbow, I have heard that moms that smoke or drink or do drugs or all three.. same with the daddies have mostly girls because the female sperm are able to survive harsher/more dangerous environments in our bodies. Crazy yes. My best friend wants me to take up drinking because she knows how much it would sway for a girl. I won't do it though. Shettles claimed all of that in his method and said that men that had more dangerous jobs or who were drug addicts ended up with daughters.. So is there truth to it? Look at the people you know in your life. What do they have? :)

I truly doubt I would be having twins naturally. And if it was twins then most likely by now I would have gotten a bfp.
12dpo, well 13dpo using my calculation and still no bfp. ?????
I am still having a few drops of brownish blood every now and then. I feel like something is going on down there -- and I can feel it. Its like this fullness -not cramping so much, but this fullness in my uterus I can feel. Plus, my boobs feel a bit weird, I am not imagining it. They are more sensitive.
But then why the bfn still? Don't you think by now it would have been positive? I know know what to think. I am starting to doubt myeslf and wonder what the f is going on. Since this has never happened to me before in my life, ironically the 1st month I am ttc I get brownish spotting here and there I am going to think it is implantation bleeding. I feel like, how weird would that be if it wasn't...the one month I ttc and this happens?
I am trying to be patient (well not really) but I would have bet money that by this point I would see a bfp.
I guess I just need to wait and see what happens over the weekend. If no af or bfp by Monday then go to the doctor for a blood test. Why is this happening to me? I feel like with swaying I have invested so much and it is so emotionally draining. I can hardly take it anymore.

Rainbow, I have heard that moms that smoke or drink or do drugs or all three.. same with the daddies have mostly girls because the female sperm are able to survive harsher/more dangerous environments in our bodies. Crazy yes. My best friend wants me to take up drinking because she knows how much it would sway for a girl. I won't do it though. Shettles claimed all of that in his method and said that men that had more dangerous jobs or who were drug addicts ended up with daughters.. So is there truth to it? Look at the people you know in your life. What do they have?

I know of 3 couple that are moderate/heavy smokers and drinkers.
1 has a girl
1 has a boy and a girl
1 has 5 girls, 1 boy
Both the mother and father smoke and drink. And (very sadly) non of these mums quit the drinking or the smoking when pregnant :( (dont get me started on THAT topic)

3 couple's probably isnt enough to make a call on?

Perhaps alcohol and tobacco sway pink becuase of the toxin / unhealthy factor. Reduced health = girl?

Even so, to me it wouldnt be worth the risk of all the other health problems it can potentially cause. I'd rather have a boy that 100% healthy, then a girl who isnt.

I truly doubt I would be having twins naturally. And if it was twins then most likely by now I would have gotten a bfp.

It was just a random dud guees - and good point about the preg tests, twins would presumably equal more hcg = earlier BFP?

When did you have your last spotting? Maybe its only JUST finished implanting, i thought HCG was produced 3 days AFTER implantation, so maybe its another day or 2 before you will get any hcg?

Another random thought, are your tests from the same batch? Could it be that you have a packet of tests thats faulty for some reason? Thats a really far out suggestion, but im scratching my head for you...

Could you maybe go to the Dr and request an urgent blood test? Maybe tell a white lie and say your period is a week late so you want a blood test to confirm, they normally come back within 24hrs, or within day if you plead and have a nice GP (that's here in australia, not sure on the states)

Easier said then done, but try and stay calm...stressing cant be doing any good for bub if she's in there (having said that, i would probably be exactly the same as you)

Butterfly, I was drinking plenty when I conceived DS2. And a friend of mine went on holiday after TTC (not swaying) for 1 year without any luck. On her trip, she said she and her DH behaved like teenagers. They drank heaps and smoked cigarettes and marijuana, and hey presto, she is now expecting DS2. So I wouldn't go turning to alcohol as a great way to sway for a girl! I am trying to keep my eggs healthy by laying off the wines this time. DH still drinks, so his sperm probably go round in circles!

My SIL is the ultimate healthy eater. Makes everything from scratch. Barely drinks alcohol. Never smoked, etc. And she has 3DDs.

Lassie - I am not so sure about the drinking part. I think that overall -- diet trumps all. I have always eaten an extreme boy friendly diet.
But my weakness is not sweets, its that I love love love my martini's. Always have. And my husband is a big beer drinker, like every night at least 5+. I hate beer, never would drink it, would rather have water.
Anyhow I always drank when I conceived all 3 of my sons. Like martini's daily -- and I make good ones, like mostly straight up vodka -- I don't put juice in them. Love wine too. We are not alcoholics (tho it kinda sounds like it when I explain us), we just enjoys a few drinks and because we do it so often have much higher tolerance that most.
I always associated my drinking with maybe having boys. That is why since I started this diet the 26th Dec. I have not had any drinks at all. All my girlfriends who are only occasional drinker's or do not drink much at all ever all have girls.
Maybe alcohol does not affect me or my dh in the way that is does most so -- all I know is if it swayed girl then with what he and I drink we would have had a squad of cheerleaders by now :)

PFP - sounds like you are on to something there. Drinking is more common then smoking isnt it? So if drinking swayed, there should be noticeably more girls?
Regarding smoking, I was a smoker up to 2 weeks before i conceived DS, that said it was fairly light smoking, maybe 4 cigarettes a day.
DH was a pack a day (smoker and a moderate drinker). So that amount of nicotine between us didnt create a girl (not that we were swaying, didnt even know about swaying then and had zero gender preference)

Neither of us smoke anymore and DH has cut out the drink altogether, so we'll see wether doing the opposite gets us an opposite

Prayforprincess~ can you relax the next few days and try to do things that takes your mind off swaying, bfps, etc. I know easier said then done! If you don't get your BFP before Monday (I REALLY think you will) then go to your doc. She said to come Monday you'll have the results by the afternoon. I took an hpt today is 6dpo its still positive but fading out, will keep doing it till its negative. My Dh doesn't think I should bother bc I will doubt it when I see it positive again (hopefully)!! Will see...

Now I am wearing a pad bleeding like a period -- still 3 days before my af is Due!
My temp is 98.6 this am -- wouldn't it have gone down if I was getting my af this morning.
I think something is wrong with me -- I just had a crying breakdown on the phone with my girlfriend.
I can't believe this -- I am just so tired. I have spent well over a year trying to get pg through ht and now swaying for this girl and there is one disappointment and obstacle after another. I am truly ready to give up. Just go on with my life and get pregnant whenever it happens. But then will I regret not trying -- ya, I know myself and I will.

Call doc and make sure it would show in a blood test now. There is no answer to "why me". We like to believe that good things happen to good people and bad things happend to bad people. The world is just not that way. There is no order to the world. Wish there was. If there was, I would never have conceived a baby girl with chromosome problems. So I talked with my doctor. It appears it might just be an "early miscarriage". It is apparent that the little brown spotting I had 1 weeks before my period was the beginning of implantation. But it seems the little bugger just could not get all the way in there. It was obviously trying...really hard since the spotting lasted a few days. But ultimately, it didn't make it and now my whole lining is shedding...i.e. my period is here. But my temp is still high so maybe it will got back down by tomorrow or the day after, once my body registers this is all over.
So that's it. It sounds right -- its the only thing that sounds right or makes any sense. She said a lot of people have had this, but many don't look into it and think its just spotting and then their af comes early. Since I am tracking, temping, ttc -- I knew exactly what it was; but with many it goes undiscovered. Totally natural and ok.
So...is this now cd1 for me?? I have no idea when I will o this month no due to this. Probably late I would imagine. But hey - don't they say that pregnancy after mc sways girls. Not that it was a real pregnancy yet or anything. Maybe it was a boy, and knew it couldn't survive the low glucose low calorie. Who know's. It just sucks I gotta go another month.
Kinda botched the diet a little. Have been staying low calorie/low fat for the most part, but did have some red meat that one night. Ooops! I will be ultra hard core on it now starting tomorrow. Guess I will really have to be monitoring my cm and taking opk's.
I think I might only do one attempt this month the night of or morning after my +opk. Just use application of rephresh every 3 days once af stops -- no touch ups before our attempt. I will have dh try to abstain from tomorrow night til our attempt. Take licorice root 2xday. Me just saw palmetto and folic acid.

Prayforprincess~responded on the other thread..I am so sorry. Regarding your question though, I am not sure why you are changing your attempt plan. Maybe, you feel this was a boy? You are right, after m/c does sway girl. I think changing the plan could cause too much stress, also I don't want to see you not get preggo with a one time attempt. I know how much you went over that aspect with Atomic. It took some getting my brain around the mutiple attempt issue as well. Don't worry about the one cheat of red meat, and the other small cheats. It will keep you going for March. I'm bummed about this :bighug:

im so sorry prp, i was really rooting for you over here. hopefully next month it will be your turn. it probably was a boy, i know it doesn't make the hurt any less but i read somewhere we have a 52% chance of having a boy every month but boy embryos are small and less hardy then the females, so usually when we miscarry we lose boys, its natures way of making a more even male to female ratio. not sure how true it is but it made sense to me. again im sorry and hopefully you will get a bfp soon.

I have to agree with Hope that I wouldn't want to only have one attempt, but then again I'm 37 and you're probably a lot younger (which I assume since you're going to have dh abstain), so your situation may be different. Do whatever will make you feel best about your sway.

I do feel like it was a boy. I had this huge gut feeling the other day that I was pregnant and it was a boy. I lay awake wondering how, and maybe it was all my attempt. Not sure what to believe. I do now that less attempts means less sperm. And fr was so hard for us because dh does not take care of himself.
I feel like I might change our plan -- I am 29 (30 in August) and dh is 36 (37 in April).

I was thinking to dtd on +opk night after abstaining. Then have him release in the morning and afternoon and then dtd again the following evening using his 3rd release.
We conceived all our boys doing multiple multiple attempts. Maybe that is why I thought boy for sure.

Maybe thinking that way will help you move forward for next month (as bad as that sounds, but it would help me). Perhaps start a thread would be good to get Atomic to weigh in. I know she will recommend against abstain due to DH age, although sounding like you will do compressed frequent. Have you read the thread on compressed frequent. Take a look at how many days are needed to be considered compressed frequent.
The multiple attempts is not what would make baby a boy. You know that diet is most important and with your 3 boys you ahd a boy diet naturally. You've said that a few times! I'm thinking compressed frequent might be good middle ground then you can add attempts if you want as you go without worrying that he has not released enough. I want you to get a plan quick, so that you can then sit back, relax and not raise T.

PFP, I think I would still get my doc to run some blood work just to see what you HCG level was. It could be over 5 and you know for sure if you were pregnant then. I would also have them check my progesterone to see if it was low too, because like me you may need supplements while TTC.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much this is hurting you from my own mc, and will continue to pray for you and your DH as I am sure he is a devastated as you are.

from memory, i think the general consensus is abstain for younger men, and FR for older, i think i read something along those lines in one of the essays. I wouldnt have thought quality is an issue for a man at 25.

Hope, I have just been finding it hard to get my head around cycles that are all over the place. I normally get O pains that are mild to medium and last a few hours. So when I started getting those in Feb I thought O was happening and for some reason the OPKs didn't work. So we did our attempts. Anyway, days later I got +OPK, more O pains that ended up lasting for days (totally unusual for me) and my temp eventually spiked saying I O on CD18 (the latest I have ever O). I try to plan some things in advance for when I think I will O, as DH works away. So what I had ended up doing was having him around when I didn't O, and having him away when I needed him.

This month I am trying not to pre-plan and just go with what my body is doing. There is a very small possibility I could get pg from our Feb attempts, but as we have BD much closer to O before and got BFNs I am not expecting anything to come of it. I still have no idea why I got O pains for so many days. Was going to ask the naturopath if I could have had a cyst? Once I did eventually O the pain went away, but it had been quite bad for 4 days.

I have some new words under my siggy to make me remember it will all work out in the end. I just need to stop being a control freak!

If your dh is that young abstaining is the way to go. Try a couple months and if you do not get a bfp then switch to fr. I am sure abstaining will do the trick though.

Just to add -- my dh is 36 and his sperm is potent!! I am trying abstaining this month. I think it definitely depends on the individual but your dh being that young -- you should be fine.

even though the risks for OLDER men are increased by abstaining I think (from memory) that it's not by a massive amount anyway.. and most damaged sperm won't even make it as far as the egg. At 25 I think you have less to worry about.

Lassie ~ last month i had every symptom under sun and BFN but this month nothing really. Couple of days ago felt abit poorly headache and hot flushes few sharp pinching pains one in right side lower abdomen and then one on left side same pain but only lasted seconds.

Coocoobanannas~ I don't think it makes much difference if you strated the Vitex now. A couple of pills is not going to delay your AF from showing up. You do however, need to be 110% sure you are not preggo if you are going to start. Maybe take an IC just to be sure!

AFM, I am still incredibly thirsty. Right after our attempt I started feeling a little sick and now have some chest congestion and a bit of a cough. Wondering if the thirst is from that or a BFP on its way? I don't know, all I know is I'm thirsty llike I am taking cold medication that dries you out except I'm NOT!! What do you ladies think?

AFM, I am still incredibly thirsty. Right after our attempt I started feeling a little sick and now have some chest congestion and a bit of a cough. Wondering if the thirst is from that or a BFP on its way? I don't know, all I know is I'm thirsty llike I am taking cold medication that dries you out except I'm NOT!! What do you ladies think?

I am only 6DPO today, so too early to know for sure. But I would be shocked to get a BFP this month. Certainly not getting any inklings of it.

The thirst factor does seem to happen to some who get a BFP. Any night sweats? That is also a common one. So 6 more days til your blood test (5 when you wake up tomorrow). Getting there. You are sounding so patient. I hope it goes very quickly for you and the next thing you know they are sticking your arm! Will have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Question about the New Moon. Is it that you are likely to conceive a girl on the New Moon Feb 21 or is it Feb 21 until the Full Moon on March 8?

Its starting the day before new moon is also new moon territory until the day before full moon as that would be full moon territory also.
But i conceived one son in new moon and the other in full moon so i dont beleive in it too much :)

I looked at the chart, if I conceive this month it will be in a full moon. New moon is on the 22nd and I will surely o before that. Oh well, I really don't believe in moon phases anyway. If it sways at all I think it may be 0.5% if that of an effect.

Temp finally dropped this morning to 97.72. On cd3. Do you girls mind looking over my sway plan this month if you get a sec on "review my plan" section. Your thoughts and comments would be really helpful. I really wanna get pregnant this month but I also really wanna sway girl and I am going to be a bit loser on the diet so I feel I need to be a bit stricter on other things to balance. But no so strict that I do not conceive. Anyhow, your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the moon phases has some impact. My parents are a perfect example of the almost 80% ratio according to the researcher in the lunaception thread, where one researcher (who then I believe wrote a book about it) noticed that 80% of children concieved in full moon were boys, 80% concieved in new moon girls, etc. (Remember this is just one lady's research claims, OK?)

I used my siblings and I as guinea pigs to see how this worked. I used a retro due date calculator on the web and using our birthdays, they give you an approx date of conception. My mom said that none of us were late or early, we were all born right around the time the Doctor said we would.

So going by that this is what I got:

Sister 1-new moon
Sister 2-full moon
Brother 1-full moon
Me-new moon

So the moon was 75% right in this case; it had 3 out of 4 of us in the right phase.

There are definitely other factors at play here. My sister 2 was concieved in full moon, but my parents had a lot of habits that increased their chances of girls. My Dad was a heavy smoker during the years we were made; Mom ate breakfast late, around noon, she only had toast with a smidgen of butter and then didn't eat again until dinner time! Her and my dad were both very calm, chilled out people. I'm sure my Dad has low T; ive never heard him raise his voice, get in argument, he's always been very quiet and wanting to be left alone.

So I'm sure there were more reasons than just the moon for why my parents had 3 girls. Looking at my parents history, I think their concieving my brother was quite miracilous, and I truly think the full moon might have helped them with my brother, lol. They needed all the help they could get!

I'm not saying the moon is a deal breaker, I just truly believe it does sway some, but of course we don't know much it sways or even really "why" it would sway.

Just my 2 cents on the subject.

I used just a finger of Rephresh 24 hrs before our attempt and i used sylk on d/h as we didnt actually dtd .. got him to point of not return and then dtd for 1 second!!!

As for af, mine was 2 days later than expected, was fretting over it as hubby goes away right near end of ovulation without af being pushed back! i wouldnt be too concerned about moon phases.
according to all of that my last 2 should have been girls.
not sure of the exact ovulation dates for my first 2, so cant test them out.
it also said this one should be a boy.

also got me thinking, the whole ovulation/moonphase thing dosent add up.
i do think it has some bearing, but i dont think they are looking at it right.
im thinking it would affect the sperm right? i mean gender is determined by the swimmers.
so if you BD in the new moon phase, but dont ovulate untill full moon phase, im my way of thinking, shouldnt the time of BD be calculated, not the time of Ovulation.
i mean the job has already been done, by the time you ovulate majority of the sperm would have died off, and that has nothing to do with the moons position on the day you ovulate.

this pregnancy is a good example of what i mean.
our BD was september 9th-which is in new moon territory.
there was a full harvest moon on the september 12th.
and i ovulated on september 14th- which is full moon territory.

by the time the full moon arrived, it was 3 days after BD, the alot of sperm selection had already been done.

I go by ovulation date and add on 2 weeks as that's the most accurate way... but doctors here go by LMP until your dating scan at around 12 weeks

it was different to the boys, but it was a big accident too.....lol.
i had just spent 2 months researching, and gathering supplies, i had everything set , and was going to start my sway begining of october.
but after a few days of dizzy spells, fatigue, and super sense of smell, i took a test on september 26th, 12 dpo and got a shock BFP.

any sway factors are purely a fluke.

both me and DH had the flu.
BD was a one shot deal 5 days before O, after 7 days abstinence . (the boys were all frequent BD, closer to O or right through O)
missionary position with J&D.(position was a coincidence, and i always J&D)
i did take some cranberry tablets for a few days, but i had only just bought them, so i hadnt had them for long.
usually i have heaps of EWCM for about a week before O, but this time i only had it for a few days, and i had to search for it. not sure if that was from the cranberry tabs or from being sick.

thats all i can think of....

Pinkin, are you private or public? I had mine through the private system and first OB appt was 11 weeks (from LMP). They are mostly checking you have a bub in the right place with a heart beat at that stage from memory (it has been a while!). I did have one at 8 weeks with DS1 but that was because I had had some bleeding and they wanted to make sure it was not an ectopic. If they do one that early, it is usually an internal U/S (fun fun). At my 11 week appt they gave me the blood and U/S request forms for the 12 or 13 week nuchal fold tests.

I had an ultrasound done every time I saw my OB, but I know that the public system do not do them as frequently as that (in Perth anyway). If you are going private, then book your OB ASAP as they only take a certain number of women each month. I know plenty of great ones in Perth, but can't recommend any in Melbourne sorry. If you have any friends who work in the medical industry, they are the best to ask! I do know one nurse in Melborne who is pg with her 4th, so am happy to ask her if it helps.

Peony, I think that would be a good idea if i got my scan done at 11 weeks going by lmp. I just hope all is well in there!! I am not in Private Health but i know my dr would let me get a scan if i wanted i would just have to pay for it i guess. They dont bulk bill down here where I am.. At Least i dont think they do because i paid for 4 scans when i was preg with my ds..

I think this lifestyle change is really starting to affect me; I've got this horrible head cold, blocked sinus and runny nose at the same time, swollen glands, headache, sweating and then freezing, etc. I feel like death. I'm sure it's the weightloss and lack of nutrients. Does anyone know if you can take cold/flu medication that won't sway blue?

Lala, you should take some paracetamol for your fever. And if your sinuses are painful you could always take some sudafed or similar. You won't be on anything for long. It is usually just a couple of days and then you'll feel much better. I always use Fess nasal spray (it is just salty water) to help with a stuffy nose as it contains no drugs and you can use it as often as you like. Otrivine nasal drops are also good. You poor thing.
My boys are both sick at the moment. Not fun. Hope you bounce back soon.

Me tooooooo. I am beyond sick. I am 9dpo my doc doesn't want me to take an antibotic. He said to take Tylenol, a saline nose spray, and soup!!! My dh was sick during our attempts, and I started the symptoms like 1dpo, I;m thinking it was incubating for me during the attempts. To make myself feel better I am thinking maybe it helped my sway!!!
If your not in the 2 WW, Peonyprincess is right sudafed would be great.

Mine does a cd21 blood work to see my progesterone level and last month it was at 38 which is really high for me and means I Oed.

Still no symptons.

Does anyone know wether increased temps (overall) could indicate pregnancy?

Last month the highest my temp went was 98.23 (after ov) then hovered around the 98.1's till the drop 2 days before AF.

This month my after ov spike was to 97.56, then gradually grew and has been hovering around 98.3's, today its hit 98.40.
(i dont think im unwell)

So could the increased overall temps mean anything? or is it neither here nor there?

LOL i know i know PP, it annoys me too! But what happened was i ordered the BBT thermometer online, and picked the wrong selection in the dropdown for C or F, didn't realise till i received it, and then couldn't be bothered returning it, i figured i could monitor the 'trends' just as well...but yes its annoying, especially to DH is he is pretty involved and looks at my temp charts and is forever converting!

Okay ladies, how much does blood affect your PH? Last month somehow I got an "owie" or hurt myself down there while DTD and had some blood show up. Thought maybe it was O spotting, but I beleive it was Atomic who set me straight that I probably got an "owie" instead. Well last night we did not DTD till this AM and well after there was some blood? He is not rough so I really don't know how it happened. Will this wreck my chances cause the PH will be out of girly range? Can you bleed or spot and have any chances of getting preggers? In despiration, I had him give me a sample in a cup and insert it after I cleaned myself up a bit so maybe that sample might have a chance in there?? I know the cup gives me more chances of a boy, but at this point if I cannot get pregnant, there is no chance of a girl either.

Well it was enough for me to see red. So you had your progesterone level checked? What was your level? As far as weight, I have a few pounds to lose so not thin by any means. Even at my weight before Clomid my progesterone was a 8 which says I was not Oing on my own. I hope this is strong O, but I believe Atomic says no to that. Atomic chime in if you can to correct me, it might have been someone else.

Honey I so understand. Please don't cry and depending on your cycle and the time of day your progesterone could have been low based on that. Did you have it done in the AM and how many days are your cycle? I believe you have your progesterone drawn on different days depending on your expected O. For a 28 day cycle they do mine on the 21, so you could have Oed later and they tested way too early? I would try to stay hopeful because you just might not get your AF at all...praying for you and thinking of you today...

I am 11dpo (technically tonight at midnight), got a BFN on a internet cheapie. My blood test is Thursday morning, so I will know for sure my Thursday afternoon :nails:. I'm nervous this month won't result in a BFP, I will be really bummed. I haven't been paying much attention recently in the 2WW either I've been so sick I have been distracted. Starting to feel better, got put on an antibotic.

I saw a thread somewhere of % of positive hpt results by dpo, anyone know where it is??

what was the spotting like? I am kind of freaking out, but my temp was really low at 97.29 this am before we DTD, so maybe it's because my progesterone is so low or something? I get my blood-work done on March 12 so hopefully it will be through the roof!!!!

I think lots of women with ovulation spotting have enough to see it on the toilet paper, but it shouldn't be more than a drop or two. I think it's still a possibility that's what it was. What did atomic say about it that made you think it can't be O-spotting?

I believe she said it needed to be more brown like old blood and this was brown, but more than a spot or two.

Hope and Dreams, I wouldn't think you're totally out until you get the blood test tomorrow. Just the same, some women really don't get BFPs at 12 dpo, and some get super early ones. It all depends on when bub implanted...if the baby's a late implanter, then you wouldn't tell yet on a pee test.

Still at the same time it could very well be a neg, and then you'd have to think up a new game plan :) You're going to give March a try if this is a real BFN, right? I want to keep cheering you on!

KD, I do clomid sways pink pretty good, and I think your attempts sound great! I really, really hope you get a BFP!

well I just about gave up on all my sway tactics as I was just not getting pregnant and it's been almost 2 years of this junk, so I am ready for my last baby now. And I really don't think having an O is really that bad LOL!

I don't want ovulation to sneak up on me this month like it did last - although we are only making one attempt this month so as long as I catch my +opk I am good.
I hear what you ladies are saying -- I just wanna be pregnant already!! I can't wait to see those 2 lines. Part of me just wants to dtd every day cause I know I will get pregnant that way - but then I don't want to regret doing nothing to sway. Did that before, got impatient because 2 of my gf's got pg so we just dtd every day again and boom, 1st month -- ds3. I am trying not to get impatient and to keep my head in the game but it is hard. I was soooo into it, and now I am soooo over it.

Auroara~ I will be attempting in March if blood test is negative tomorrow. I am actually a little surprised bc I am super super fertile. I never even tried to get preggo- DS1-first attempt, DS2-ummm, wheres AF, 3rd preggo-again where's AF, no timing, had no idea what an OPK stick was, what part of the month I was in, and DH pulled out. And that was only several months ago, so its not my age. Apparently sway tactics are working for me but NOT ending in a BFP.

I'm looking up if negative tomorrow, and someone can remind me to go back and read this post when I am upset tomorrow:
1) I can lose 5 more pounds before conceiving
2) March is prime month to conceive a girl
3) I can schedule my C section on 12-12-12
4) Baby will be oldest in the class not youngest

ALL over the place. You can look from my siggy Ovulation chart- look at December. This month temps where crazy too? but have a sinus infection, theve been all over all month though. Maybe the clomid-was first month for me on clomid so don't know whats typical.

I got a +OPK on CD13 and CD14 (both string positive, fade in was CD12)
I had a temp drop on CD15, then upward spike CD16 and CD17

How many DPO do you guys think I am?

What do you use as the benchmark for the actual day of ovulation to count your DPO ?
