NOTE - I got mixed up and thought onelittlewish was asking this question. I answered this to a pink swayer who had been swaying on diet a long time. My answer to Jazmin, who is swaying blue, is on the next page.
We're really not sure, but there is a link between zinc and fertility, we just aren't sure what it entails really. I always suggest a zinc supplement for people who have been on LE Diet more than 6 months. Go ahead and take the supplement given at the dose by your doctor, and then if you do decide to continue trying naturally, you can cut back to a 3x a week maintenance dose at that time.

Finally temp spiked today and I am officially 1dpo! Managed to have two attempts on the two solid smiley days (I believe O-2 and O-1 because my temp dipped the day after the last solid smiley and spiked the day after so I think that's the O day).

We went on a little 3 day vacation with our 18 month old. It was nice but I have strep throat now. Yesterday was a long day 5 hour drive home then 3 hours in the clinic to get antibiotics. I hope these pills work quickly! I was just sick with a fever like 6 weeks ago :( I never usually get sick! I have not tested again because i feel like she is coming or it could be my body is just achy.
Onelittle wish best of luck 2 attempts is great!

Jazmin, I'm SO sorry, somehow I thought that had been posted by onelittlewish and not you. Zinc in normal doses (not megadoses) is good for a BLUE sway, but because some pink swayers don't eat very much foods with zinc in them, I have them start taking zinc after they've been on diet a long time since sometimes they get deficient. Not because it sways pink, but because they aren't getting enough thru their LE Diets. I think you should ask your doctor why you might be deficient even though you're taking a multi because that shouldn't be the case.

@atomic, is BD on the night of O-2&O-1 better or O-1&O? I hope we can have the sperm tested again this month to see if there is any progress. Do you think I should get some blood work done as well? I havn't had any of my levels tested, my OB didn't find it necessary because we have the male issue. If so, what should I test?

March 5th, 2023, 03:20 PM
Yes, I absolutely think you should have some testing done. Sometimes fertility challenges are multifactorial and it may be that you have something going on too. Have you ever had an HSG done to test for blockages in the tubes?? You should have tests done to be sure you're ovulating regularly and that your LP is long enough to allow an egg to implant successfully.
O-2 and O-1 is better. The night of O Day can be too late.

As someone who's had fertility issues in the past, just my 2 cents worth - I would definitely push for a basic fertility assessment for you (tubes, hormones etc).
It'd be terrible to assume it was only the sperm, and try loads of things on that side, only to find out later that there were issues on your side (which there hopefully won't be!) and that you directed your efforts only towards half of the equation, wasting time in the process. Also, with women, especially because it is our bodies carrying the pregnancy, there is so much more complexity involved so subtle changes could make all the difference!
Good luck :)

I have not had an HSG done because my doc says that it is not necessary to check HSG until the semen analysis come back normal. I kind of disagree but I didn't push for it too, maybe I should. We will go for another round of semen analysis tomorrow and I will have my blood checked for the hormones. My LP is normally 13 days so length wise it's normal.

I totally agree, that's exactly my concern! I don't know why my doc refuse to do a thorough checkup on me and assume that I am all normal only with the ultrasound scan of uterus, endometrium and ovaries (not saying I'd like to see an issue). I'd def push for the hormonal and tube tests...and get a second opinion if i have to. Thank you so much for your input! If I may ask, was your fertility issue solved easily?

Your doctor is 1000% percent wrong and that is actually bordering on medical malpractice. In 1/3 of all cases of infertility, both partners have something wrong and thus both partners should be checked. Any time a woman is not conceiving, her uterus and tubes should be checked, not only because she's trying to get pregnant, but because the reasons for issues with uterus/tubes can be caused by things that need to be treated for your overall health, not even having to do with your fertility. If you have PID for instance, that can be very serious, as can endometriosis, and these things could cause scarring in your tubes that is preventing conception and could cause either severe, critical emergencies (from infection or ovarian cysts rupturing and bleeding) or lifelong health issues if left untreated. My suggestion is to get a new doctor in the long term, and for now you need to push for the HSG immediately.

I have been calling my GP trying for referral and tests.
every time I speak to them they just assume that I am calling because I want to get to IVF referral. they asks how many kids I have and when I say 2 .. they always sounds like it will happen when it will happen.. you cant get into fertility treatments through nhs because you already have 2 kids.. always sounded as if it is not important because I already have two kids. I initially didn’t understand they meant ivf etc meaning fertility treatments.. and i have to clearly tell them that I am not here for IVF referral, but I want to know whats going with my body.
each time I have to explain it as they are different docs .. and so far I have managed to check DH sperm.. and my blood and thyroid. the month they checked they clarified I have ovulated. so the next thing I want to know is any cyst, blockage or endometriosis I guess??
I am also wondering if I can do HSG. I really wish to know what’s going on this time. they checked my blood twice and first one was last year and told me i have lack of vit D and few weeks back.. they said zinc.. but honestly i feel they r saying to make me feel like they looked [emoji2370]

With my 2 first daughters, I had a laparospcopy for endometriosis (one operation about 6-12 months each time before falling with each of them) and then Clomid to help ovulate / once pregnant was on progesterone supplements for the 1st trimester.
I still have endometriosis (it is not something you can "cure") but have not needed a new laparoscopy as symptoms have been manageable nor have I needed Clomid to have a proper ovulation... and in fact conceived twice completely naturally (#3 in 2 cycles and #4 I wasn't even TTC oops!).
Hope you get some answers soon so you can get that baby on the way x

@Jazmin, wow we are in the same situation! I feel too that my doc just assume that I have no issue because I have two kids already. How long have you been trying? I am not in the UK, I am based in Indonesia...so over here we don't really need doc referral to do lab tests. As long as we know what to test, we can just go to the lab and do it. But for tests like HSG we would need doc referral I think. How are the results of your tests so far? All good?
I've just tested on my hormones (I'm not even sure I've got the right ones...but I did AMH/LH/FSH/Estradiol/Progesteron/Prolaclin/Testosteron/TSH and T4) and I had monitored my ovulation for a few cycles so I am ovulating normally.
I just got the sperm result back still not good (10 months since our first analysis). Concentration 14x10^6/ml slightly lower, count is ok 56x10^6/ejac, PR motility 28% and morphology normal still only 1%. Is there no hope to conceive naturally? I'll get the rest of my lab results this friday.

Yes we have had a heck of a time sometimes getting people in to the NHS doctors and them telling people to keep trying, when in literally every other country they would have been treated long before. Is there any way you could go private?
I absolutely think you need an HSG. It's medically indicated and can pick up conditions that are actually health related. There is no reason why you should have to wait any longer for one.

Hey, oh that is good that you can go private.
we need the referrals to do it as NHS is free here. for private, I guess we don’t have to wait for referrals.. but private clinics here charge big amount.. so that is a problem. I will be doing a detailed test from India when I visit there next time as the hospitals are good.. affordable and quick… Hopefully I don’t have to and I fall Preg before that [emoji16][emoji1696]. we been trying on and off for more than 2 years now.. but we haven’t tried in a row longer than 4 months. every time something comes in between and we stop at 4th or 5th cycle.. e.g now i can’t do next 2 cycles because of Ramadan. Yes , so far all results came back normal m.. just some lack of vitamin D and zinc now.
yes i would also want to do the hsg test. i will try snd get that done here or will see how much it cost privately.

A few months ago I saw a TikTok where a nurse was making fun of "her patients exaggerating things". It infuriated me because if we don't exaggerate things, they tell us nothing is wrong and ignore us totally. I am SO over the way patients are treated, I can't even! (luckily she got in major trouble and was disciplined)

So I had a 24 day cycle last month? Is that too short, It does line up when i got my positive OPK but i never have them that short. I normally am 27-28 ocationaly 30.
This is also my 3rd month of being sick again. January super high fever for a week following chest infection. February strep throat. Now Im pretty sure I got Hand foot mouth from my little guy from vacation super sore throat no other symptoms though (same way i felt when i got it from my daughter 10 years ago). I can't catch a break this winter I am someone who never gets sick its crazy!
So I am trying for a girl but honestly just a healthy baby.
I am taking prenatal, extra folic, coQ10, vit. D (im in canada and no sun LOL)
Just trying to make healthy eggs since i am 42.5 years old.
This was our 4 month trying after loss in September.
I am have lost probably 15 pounds in the last 3 months being so sick all the time.
I have a daycare so I am surrounded by germs this has been the hardest winter for everyone here.
Any suggestions on what I can be doing? Or adding?
Thanks ladies I hope you are all doing well! CD 2 for me :) Im sure my husband will be away when i ovulate this time around unless it is early again. This cycle would mean a christmas baby and that want something i was dreaming about LOL but at this point I would LOVE :))

Just keep doing what you're doing, Treens!
Are you on one of the 'better for egg quality' styles of diet where you're not overdoing carbs??
(I have not one, but TWO December babies, one born on the 21st. I didn't plan it that way, but over time I have come to like it that way. The birthdays add to the fun of the season!)

Hi Jazmin, no clue which dpo I was at...probably 12 or so, tested neg as expected but we only got 1 attempt in on the first solid smiley because my boy fell and needed stitches and was admitted to the hospital the next night. Had been super busy with kids school as well so I didn't temp this month. I will book our IVF consultation after my AF starts in 2 days and will see how to proceed.
Treens, I also had a super early ovulation 2 months ago but my LP was normal and I don't recall doing anything differently too. After that month my O day went back to normal so I hope it is the same for you and there's nothing to worry about! I have one december baby too! He is THE SWEETEST. I hope you are feeling well and this is the month for you!!

Hi ladies!
Jazmin- Hope next month is your month, thank you for checking in :) I love how we all cheer each other on :))
Onellittlewish- Im sorry to hear about your son I tell you boys they are such a handful, how is he doing now?
So I am currently CD13 today we got solid smiley yesterday and peek on cheap test. So Ovulation today. We attempted CD 10,11,12,13. My husband leaves today until monday night so we will try 1 more time mon night but I think thats all we could have done LOL.
Fingers crossed for our Christmas healthy baby girl.
I know we do get lots of attempts in and that may not be girl friendly but I will be 43 this summer so time is not on our side and I would love either gender as I have both but I would love my husband to experience having his own little girl. But he says he would love another boy LOL and we have so much boy stuff! But I dream of a little girl :)

Thank you all! He is well now and fully recovered. The wound was inside his lips (cut by his teeth) so they had to put him under general anesthesia to do the stitches. He was so brave though, didn't cry at all.
I am at CD3 and we will not attempt this month. I have booked IVF consultation for end of the month and see if we can start treatment on my next cycle. I am kind of excited and but also anxious. At this point I want a baby but I really really want a baby girl esp I am doing IVF and PGT but but but gender selection is illegal there argh!

Thank you I hope it is too, TTC is hard in so many ways.
I am CD18 5 DPO feeling a bit crampy.
Had my DR apt. yesterday because i wanted to get blood tests to see if anything else health wise is going on since i have been so sick this winter. My dr. Is sending me but told me to wait 2 weeks because Covid has been confusing blood tests and then i won't have to do them again she also said if i do fall pregnant to message and she would send me prenatal blood work up too. I also asked her if she can refer me to a fertility dr. she said she would if i am not pregnant this cycle, she said since i have been pregnant before it shouldn't be an issue but I want to stay on top of it because each month i will have less and less eggs.

Hey one little- sorry about your son.. glad he is better and recovered .
oh great you have ivf option.. good luck with the appointment. I lightly mentioned to my husband about it once and it was a big No from him .. i was thinking to look into it from home country as its much cheaper than here in London but yes both countries don’t do gender selection.

Well, it's the next step, and can help check for things like fibroids or endometriosis.
But to truly see if there were blockages in tubes they'll need to do the full HSG test. This should be covered by NHS but you might have to wait some time for it. (they honestly should be having this test for you by this point!!!)

Hi guys! I have moved onto here after my first month of TTC. It’s either 3/4 DPO (don’t know exactly if ovulated within 24hrs or after).
Feel very unpregnant, no symptoms (similar to my previous pregnancy with DD) however just got a very bad sore throat which I’m annoyed about!
Jazmin - hopefully your scan date comes around quick! NHS can be great if there’s an emergency with kids but really poor when it comes to referrals for us.

I have lost about 2kg with fasting.. not sure if that is going to impact my boy sway. Also we couldn’t bd at all for the whole month [emoji31].. there was no time or chances .. so long gaps of bd .. looking at these both.. I dont know what to do with next cycle? we cannot bd during fasting time and once broken .. I feel like a whale after drinking a glass of juice… lol .. plus DH gets back from mosque really late so i fall asleep.. then we wake up early morning and fasting starts again. Bd at mid night means mandatory shower before 4am and that is not fun when it is still cold here [emoji23][emoji23].. so for many reason we just didn’t get the chance to bd at all!!
I am still taking supps but missing here and there too while fasting but if i forgot it once.. i missed it until next day.. so not regular either.
so thinking if i should skip may cycle while regulating everything.. and bd from june? .

There have been several people here who, after doing a blue sway a long time and not getting pregnant, lost some weight and then did still get pregnant with a boy! This can happen!
I think that when you've been at it as long as you have, you need to try every month. Do not skip this month. We just can't know if this is a good egg, and the next several months may not be!

50 or 100 whichever you prefer. Some people believe, because it can lower blood sugar a little, that 50 is safer for their blue sway. I think that as long as you guys are eating regular meals it doesn't matter and cannot lower your blood sugar because you've always got food coming in. We have good results with coq10 and I've used that since the start of the site.

As for me, I am at CD2 and officially started my IVF cycle today! we had our first appointment two weeks ago and since we are here already we decided to extend our trip and kick start the treatment. I will have 3 days of injections and next visit to monitor egg development on the 8th. I brought my 2 boys with me and all the docs and nurses asked "are you trying for a girl?" (can't be more obvious right :giggle:) But hubby and I agreed that we will only try 1 cycle because the cost doing ivf abroad is too high. If we fail at least we tried our best. My AFC this cycle is 13 so hopefully that they are all healthy and growing!

Treens - Fingers crossed for you! You can test already before your appointment right around Mon/Tue? I really hope you can get your BFP and doesnt need to go through all the fertility testings. They are exhausting! I will be going in to see how my eggs are growing on Mon...and probably will know the date for retrieval if all goes well. Im nervous...I've been stuffing myself with high protein and healthy fats and eating around the clock but still worried that I am not doing enough. Kind of stressed because we only have this one chance and sometimes it takes a few rounds of IVF if there are more underlying issues. I hope sperm quality is the only prob we have and I am as healthy as I can be.
Jazmin - wow it really takes a long time to get a consultation after your test! Is this done in UK? are you doing more tests in India? We travelled back to my hometown in Taiwan for the cycle. We booked a consultation when we came back for holiday and I just extended my trip to start the cycle so that we don't have to fly back again. After retrieval I will go back home and come back in July during kid's school holiday for the transfer - at least that's the plan. We get government subsidy for our cycle (up to 6x actually) but that barely covers our travel cost so we cannot afford another cycle abroad...hopefully we can succeed with this one try.

OneLittle - Wish you the best and praying it to be successful in the first cycle. yes, it does take time here if we are doing through NHS and private is expensive here. I would have gone through private if I was also working but with just hus working and covering every single expenses in the family.. we cannot afford to go private in the UK at the moment. With NHS , the wait for an appointment takes few weeks to months, then the results goes to our registered doctor, they don’t give or tell us anything about it… it takes upto 2 weeks for the doctor to look at it , so i called on Friday and they said , doc haven’t looked at it yet.. so still waiting for doc to check my scan report and get back to me.. they asked me to call after one week if not heard anything from doctor.. usually they say.. no news is good news.. so if i dont get a text from doc in 10-15 days means scan reports came back normal.. if doc wants discuss something that he seen in the reports.. they sent a text asking book an appointment.. but i was thinking to call again on Friday again and ask.. sometimes they takes time.. or waits for us to follow up. its all free so the cost is the time i guess [emoji36]… so yes regardless.. I will be doing more tests and consult a fertility specialist in India and trust me it is so much better service is in India.. in the state i am from .. when it comes to private health care.. and so much cheaper.

Im still here :) I feel the same way LMSM
AF arrived for me yesterday.
I did have a consult at the specialist wednesday and I have to get CD3 and 20 bloodwork done and an ultrasound this month. So at least we will find out if anything else could be wrong. Im glad on the timing it would have sucked if we had the meeting next week missing CD3 blood work. So the timing is good.
How is everyone else feeling/ doing?

I just wanted to mention to go in expecting them to be very negative about your chances. Don't take that at all personally, it's because they like to push people towards IVF. As long as you're making eggs and getting your period every month, you can get pregnant.

treens.. sorry AF arrived .. but you are on right track with doing all the test and good luck with all that.
we are in fertile week .. and expected to ovulated tomorrow or Monday.
i couldn’t find out the result yet so am thinking to book a telephone consultation on Monday for the doctor look at it and let me know.

Sorry that you didn't hear BFP this month treens, I'm glad to hear that you get will get your blood work done in the upcoming cycle! Hopefully the numbers can tell you something! Is it to check whether your hormone levels are normal?
All the best Jazmin and hope you get good attempts in this cycle! I cannot believe that it takes weeks to get your result and consultation. It must be frustration to be kept waiting and you need to push for the next step. I hope you get the teleconsultation ASAP!
As for me, I had my eggs retrieved on Friday morning and it went well and easy. I barely slept the night before so had a pretty good sleep during the procedure. To my surprise they retrieved in total 28 eggs but only 16 matured and 12 fertilised. Not sure if this is good for my age and now I am waiting for the D5 result to know how many can be sent for PGS. Super nervous..

I’m sorry Treens. I tried private messaging you but It wouldn’t let me.
I just had a D&C to clear out a missed miscarriage , I thought I was 8 weeks but baby stopped at 6 weeks, I seem to get pregnant ok but this time round keeping them is so hard for me. I’ve had a few chemicals and a few blighted ovums in a row now, and the missed miscarriage. Very anxious to try again in a few months. Trying to eat healthy now as gender doesn’t seem as important as just a damn sticky baby at this point [emoji24]
Hope you are ok. It’s a long journey

No problem at all, we have two sons and conceived both easily. This time we have been trying for 2 years and we found out that theres issue with sperm count and quality. So here we are trying HT. Gender selection is not legal but it seems that they will take into consideration family balancing if I have good quality girl embryo…so waiting game is on!

I had my cycle in Taiwan where I am originally from. I don’t live here now but it is the only place I can travel and stay for a longer period of time on my own with two kids. We cannot afford going outside Asia and the total cost is also lower than malaysia, thailand and singapore plus I get gov subsidy as a citizen so that helps abit financially but legally they won’t tell us the gender of the embryos so that’s the risk we are taking. I never got a proper BFP in the past two years…at one point I also only wanted a healthy baby regardless gender. I pretty much gave up all the diet and ate as healthy as possible but still no luck. Then we agreed to try one time with ivf not sure if we would still transfer if theres no girl embryo but we will see. so sorry to hear about your loss too. How long have you been trying? Are you swaying for a girl or boy?

Gooooooooooood luck!!!!! My doctors at where I live also didn’t want to do fertility tests for us apart from semen analysis(because we have two healthy boys) and I had to push to get exams done. Super frustrating when you know time is ticking and you are just stuck. Luckily I have this site and I come up here rambling when I am at a loss for what to do. Hopefully you can get things moving soon in India. When will you travel there? Fingers crossed thisbmonth is the month so you dont need to go through all the hassle…
Egg retrieval was done under “general anesthesia” so I was totally knocked out and done before I woke up. No pain during the process but abit of discomfort after the surgery. I had my post surgery checkup snd my ovaries r still swollen and there are fluids but no major concern from my doc. As of day 3 all 12 embryos are still growing and I was told that probably half will make it to blast. I am so nervouuuus

That makes total sense for you to do it in Taiwan then! I really hope it works for you and that there are girls in there!!!! It’s a roll of the dice but a good chance there will be a girl, and if not then another wee boy will be amazing too. I’m sure there will be a mix did they say what the chance are at all, or can they not even tell you that? It makes me realise that people like the kardashians who use surrogates and have 2 boys and 2 girls etc etc have definitely gender selected.
I’m swaying girl, I started in July. Then had attempt in November , I have gotten pregnant every time but have had Mc every time. Had my other 3 children so easily , but for some reason #4 is making me work for it. All my bloods have come back good so that’s positive , I guess just bad luck and I’ll keep trying. I kinda went off the sway when pregnant (thought I was 8w but wasn’t) and now I’m just eating really healthy and praying for a sticky baby next. Waiting for AF then will attempt [emoji1695][emoji30] such a hard process isn’t it.

Nowmarriedgirl - With the gender they say 50/50 but who knows..there are plenty who only gets one gender when doing IVF. If that is the situation then it is how it is but my oldest boy will be pretty upset. He doesn't want another brother at all. I feel you, never thought making a baby is that hard. Cannot imagine the multiple losses on top of that. Keep going I'll keep you in my prayer too! Hopefully you get your rainbow baby soon. Every cloud has a silver lining and it will be so worth the wait :cheer:
Treens - Thank you! Feeling much better now! How are you doing? Have you gotten your CD3 blook work done? How are they looking?
Jazmin - Thank you I am feeling much better now...although my tummy didn't go down much probably from eating too much LOL. My new cycle just started so I will wait for my next period and start the transfer procedure. I am excited too at least there is hope! Out of my 12 fertilized egg 10 made it to day5 so it was beyond my expectation. Now I am waiting for the pgs results to come back and will know how many normal embryos I have. Aug is not too far away! Either way there's hope at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there! Do you consider IVF if they couldn't figure out what's causing the problem?

I need to go do CD 20 blood work next tuesday.
I am hoping that the procedure they did to check my tubes did not push a possibly fertilized egg somewhere its not supposed to be. Googling i think they are supposed to do it before Ovulation, but they didn't ask me if I know if I ovulated or not so who knows.

Hi onelittlewish, good luck with the transfer, omg so exciting .
yes Aug isnt far .. fingers crossed I fall pregnant before that .. No, we are not looking at IVF as of now.. thinking to try naturally, if it is hormonal and tube blockage or something we will try to treat it.. if unknown.. we will just leave it .. and continue unprotected and ill try to focus on something else like finding a new job as my younger one is now full-time at school.
Hi treens.. glad all result came back with good news. Wish you all the best.
No , we are not trying with IVF but one little wish is..
what was the procedure they did to check if you have any block inside tube? I had an internal scan and they said all ok.
I am currently 10dpo and this is probably the first ever month that I didn’t bother symptoms spotting at all or googling [emoji23].. i was too busy and it went so quick.

ohh so they maybe insert dye to see if you have any blocks.. they didn’t do that for me and said they couldn’t see anything in the scan.. which is why I am not happy with NHS. I read that scan only
cannot tell if i had blocks or not.. they need to do it properly.. hopefully I get an answer from back home .. fx

Treens - when you say internal scan, was it a hysterosalpingogram (HSG)? (where they put contrast dye in your tubes to check if they are blocked etc)
If so, when I had mine done many moons ago, I was told not to TTC that cycle due to the dye not being safe for TTC... that is poor form of them to not check!
I'm sure it'll be fine, and they may just have been overly cautious, but as a FYI for anyone that may need one done at some point, worth asking at least :)

I'm sorry AF came Jazmin! :(
When is it you're going to India (that is where back home is if I'm remembering right)?
If all they did was a ultrasound, not a HSG yes it'd be good to ask when you are home... word of warning to some people it's nothing but I almsot passed out from the pain as she was inflating the balloon and passing the dye so worth getting painkillers (I think they did ask me to take one before coming in to help with possible pain). That said I have a very retroverted uterus and it was hard for the technician to manoeuvre around down there haha
Also, make sure to bring a pad for after as you may leak some of the dye after ;)

If this is not our month again we will be trying Letrozole next month. That is what they suggest. They also offered with IUI but I think we will skip that for a few months anyway. Has any one just done Letrozole? Or have you done it with a Trigger shot too?
I think I am also going to start trying acupuncture also for my sore shoulder I am just starting to look into it. Anyone done Acupuncture?

I think Letrozole is similar to Clomid, is it?
I got my 1st with Clomid and fertility acupuncture ;) (also a few other things) after TTCing for close to 2 years...fingers crossed this is the winning combo for you!

Have you found an acupuncturist that specialises in fertility?
I didn't have any trigger shots with the CLomid (I took metformin & low dose naltrexone)- I did O early (which I seem to do on fertility meds), so we likely only had the one attempt back then too LOL
Thanks! :D
It'll likely be the August cycle now as my July fertile window will likely be opening as we are on the plane and tbh the more I think the more I want to push to August anyways to give us time to get over jetlag, not stress about early O and possibly 1-attempt situations, and just enjoy, relax, and EAT haha
My fertile window would be around the middle of August, a week-ish before we go back to Australia - so am hoping to bring back a little blue passenger on the return flight haha

OOh Jazmin - that is encouraging - I really hope it's a baby snuggling in there and that you don't see AF, for a long, longtime :D
You are keeping us on our toes ^^
Treens - FX you don't see AF either but if you do, I really hope the acupuncture + Letro combo does its magic for you ;)
Yes, I do think enjoying the holidya a bity 1st before throwing myself into TTC is probably better - I'll track loosely but won't worry too much in July and just hope we can conceive in August
I dreamt last night I was pregnant with twins (kinda want twin boys ha!) but found out at 12 weeks one had passed so woke up sooo sad - BUT I think my body definitely is clucky too haha my 2 year old is so delicious, even DH seeks out her snuggles and because she co-sleeps in our bed still we wake up to her cuddling our faces - and he loves it as much as me. I said, imagine another baby to snuggle like that! hehe
Now married girl - you are swaying girl, correct? My EWCM tends to be in the day before and day of peak opk too ^^

(and wow - 11 puppies - kuddos to your dog but also, that must be a biiig chunk of work for you - are you keeping some of these babies?)
NMG - that's great news! Take my pink dust!!!! :D FX for this cycle then ^^
OLW - it is the 6th here in Australia - so all the best for yoru transfer today :)
Jazmin - did you see your Dr on Monday? FX you don't get too sick (I got more sick every time - that is one thing that is kind of not making me excited about a new pregnancy lol) - did your Dr give you anything last time to help with that? with work and little kids, you certainly don't need to feel awful if the Dr can find something that is safe and helps :)
I'm a few days away from starting my next cycle - which will be the last before TTC - yippee!!! pray my hubby doesn't turn around as can't imagine we'll ever have as good an opportunity for all the right factors to line up...
getting an iron infusion tomorrow as my numbers have been stubbornly low for ever even with high iron supplements. The consensus is that you tend to feel a lot better/more energised so am keeping my FX that I can see that too ^^

Hubby made it in time on 5th morning and had my FET on 6th. The procedure was super fast...6 min said the doc after he finished. I spotted a little on the day after transfer I think it's from the procedure itself because it stopped the next day. I am now at 4dp5dt and will have my next appointment on the 19th to confirm pregnancy. This is by far the hardest waiting time during the entire IVF treatment. I am feeling ok, very sore breasts probably from the progesterone that i've been taking. I am walking quite a bit because it's hard to keep two boys at home I hope as long as I am not bleeding it's ok. Other than that I am just really nervous and anxious because this is the only normal XX embryo I have. The other one is low mosaic so I really hope that I can get preg this time.
@Atomic, if i am pregnant later, what supplements do i need to wean off? I am taking prenatal, folic acid, vit c, vit d, coq10 and omega 3.

you're doing the right thing by keeping distracted/active - going for walks isn't going to prevent implantation, so don't worry.
If anything, you're ensuring good blood flow to your body - can't be bad ;) I wouldn't do crazy strenuous exercise or jumping out of a plane LOL I had progesterone for my 2 first girls - and it's no fun.... are they giving it to you as a vaginal pessary?
Are you going to do a HPT before going for your blood test on the 19th?

speaking of keeping myself busy, I have just booked a 3 days trip out of town right before my beta test. I want to test beforehand so i am prepared but i dont know when is the earliest yet accurate time to test? I only brought 1 FRER with me too so I cannot test all the way till my beta on 13dpt. I'll see if i can wait till 9dpt which is 4 days from now! I use Crinone vaginal gel 2x a day and progesterone in oil 1x a week. The injection is painful thank God it's not needed daily. I can't see why it will not be successful if the embryo is normal and i have no implantation issue...but nothing is 100% with biology so I don't want to be over confident too.. my breasts aren't as sore as past few days but quite tired and bloated. might be from the meds too i wish i can tell what's going on in there ..

I know that you can test for hcg that was in your system from the transfer to see it fade out and hopefully re darken as the implantation occurs and pregnancy happens.
I think 9dpt is a great time to test - should be quite accurate by then! FX FX FX :fingers: don't be guided by symptoms - when you undertake fertility treatments, your body is not it's usual self - you're PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise!).
Ouch for the injections - vaginal progesterone really irritate things down there so my Dr recommended I alternate with my behind (not fun either) but it helped (it still is as efficient as its topical and local)... if you have to keep taking it for the whole 1st trimester, that is just a thought to raise with your Dr, to avoid getting that irritation ^^

Speaking of patience...i think i'm pregnant! I am 6dp5dt but I didn't get a trigger shot so there should be no HCG in my system right? I think this test is 20miu and tested in the afternoon...i tried another one 25miu in the evening and got a lighter line but def there. Maybe I can use my FRER to confirm tomorrow omg i cannot believe that it is happening. I'll go back to the clinic tomorrow to get my PIO and def will ask hubby to learn since we will leave right after the official test day.
Praying that the lines will progress beautifully but so so grateful to know that at least the little bean implanted successfully!
LMSM - thank you so much for all the info! My bartholine gland flared up already last weekend. I couldn't walk or sit because of the pain it was no joke but the doc warned that it may recur since it's so messy down there.I heard that normally we will be on progesterone until 8-10 weeks. I'll def ask my doc about the other option! And have all my blue dust! Hope to hear good news from you next :bluecheer:

Oh that is the best news and yes – if you had no trigger shot that is definitely baby – that i8s a clear line at that , too! ;)
Huge congrats :D looks like you’ll have to endure that progesterone for a bit longer ( I took mine until 13 weeks, weaning slowly from 11-12 weeks onwards).
Jazmin -that is great – would make it so much easier for you!
Here I have to see my GP, get a confirmation of the pregnancy and a viability scan before he will even register me for care at the hospital :P

In the end my previous message answered Jaz but you also in one go haha - LOL just CD2 in my July cycle so likely won't attempt for another good month ;) I tend to have pretty regular cycles but this one was delayed by like 3 good days after I had my iron infusion - will try to see when I O this cycle so I can calculate roughly when to expect the August fertile window ^^

Treens - Hope the Letrozole and the acupunctures work wonders for you! and those sounds like some solid attempts. Are you around 7DPO? Few more days to go!!! Keep us updated!
LMSM - I had my OTD yesterday morning! Beta was 500+ and we saw the little sac already implanted at the right place! We just flew 12 hours back home and all good! The doc put me on prog until 8 weeks into pregnancy so four more PIO to go. Luckily my doc here can help me with the injections. I will have biweekly checkups until 12 weeks so a bit more frequent than normal pregnancies.
Jazmin - how far along are you now? I am so grateful to be pregnant again too. feels weird to feel like this because i have two children already. but i think the journey through infertility makes this pregnancy extra special although im not feeling a thing yet and kept forgetting that i am actually preg lol.

Hope things settle OLW but things are looking good so long May that last! Do you have an early scan ?
Jasmin how are you feeling?
I’m in O week and took all my might to not attempt - but it will be best to wait a few weeks!
I forgot my multivitamin in Australia and I’m a remote village right now so need to buy one asap ( have all my other supps)…

OLW - It's not unusual to have some spotting during early pregnancy particularly with IVF. I agree it's not really "implantation" bleeding which is typically not red anyway, but more likely just that your cervix is probably a bit soft and easily injured from the early pregnancy hormones.
Are you taking any strong blood thinners like aspirin or fish oil in very high doses??

Omg treens.. Congratulations.. such a great news
one little wish.. take rest as much as you can.. you will be ok. [emoji4] how u feeling generally?? are you able to eat and all ?
LMSM.. thank you .. i am feeling little ok now but not 100%
I have been thinking to login and catch up.. but fell little bit unwell.. dislikes to food.. not been able to cook.. looking after kids.. and nausea but it is not bad as my previous pregnancy and no vomiting yet so that’s relief .. but I am ssoo ssoo tired and been sleeping. I also had to get ready and pack my luggage in between so its been hard and busy weeks for me. have digestion issues too.. now am at India so don’t have to worry much about house chores as I have people around me to take care all that and kids.
I had my first appointment with midwife before I leave .. so registered. no scanning or anything yet so worried until i see that lil bean. lol.
They took blood and urine.. BP is fine but i got prescribed aspirin .. bcoz i had bo for my first pregnancy during labour. I was ok with 2nd .. and bp was ok this time they checked so not sure why miswife wants me to take aspirin.
is it safe to take ?

I am freaking out now because i started bleeding again this afternoon. I had constipation kind of pain then when i wiped it was fresh red blood like in period. I am still bleeding now with cramps. I injected my progesterone and bedresting. I am so scared that I am loosing this baby...

If we end up having to go through this again, let's stick to 500 mg Omega 3 and no more than that.

I would personally keep the aspirin to no more than 2-3 times per week and if you experience any bleeding or bruising, wean back off of it. Medical professionals are very free with the aspirin, but we have seen a lot of side effects with it, including subchorionic hemorrhage and pregnancy loss.

Jazmin, this is incredible! At last, after 2 years, now you're finally pregnant. I'm so happy for you.

Hello Atomic, I trust you are well. Thanks for still being here for all of us.
As for me, DH still has a low sperm count, and he's tired of taking the supplements [emoji38]. I've decided to stop worrying about it and just do my part. It's not been easy, but I'm hopeful one day it'll happen for me too.

Hi ladies, just a little update of my rollercoaster ride...active bleeding stopped end of the day and we had an ultrasound scan the next day. We did see bleeding in the uterus and I think it was subchorionic hematoma. I thought I lost the baby due to the heavy bleeding and strong pain but thank God the sac was still there. At 6 weeks we went in for another scan to see heartbeat & fetal pole and we saw a very tiny bean with flickering heartbeat! Bleed was still there but smaller than before. Yesterday at 7 weeks we had another scan and the little bean is growing according to age. It was a horrifying experience and I had really active and easy pregnancies with my boys. We were joking that I have a princess who wants mommy to be a princess too. I can finally relax abit and enjoy my full blown morning sickness :)
9jamama, so happy to see you again! The wait is not easy...but it will happen like Jazmin and Treens!
How are you ladies doing Jazmin and Treens?

one little - that is great news.. I did think of you and prayed.xx that is great you get to see the little bean few times [emoji4][emoji4] I cant wait for my scan.. planning to do one from here in 2 weeks.
I have been ssoo busy as I have few weddings going on here in India… i do have nausea and fatigue but no vomiting. just some dislikes to food and smell .. praying it goes away soon [emoji24] as i cant enjoy food as I used to.. and its all about food once I reach here.. lol ..
lost about 1.5kg .
been drinking a lot of coconut water and some butter milk drinks as it makes me feel good. on the other hand .. I have been relaxing ssoo much .. not having to do any house chores feels good [emoji16] sso am going to enjoy while it last .. have people here for everything.. so all I do is.. eat something when food is ready .. and nap.. Hope all the little bubs are still growing well and you're feeling well, ladies!
9djamama - I think we are just about lined up cycle wise... about 8dpo here now... trying to resist the urge to test...as am down with the flu, I don't want to read into any symptoms too much as all of it could be illness/ jetlag/ PMS LOL
We did get a fair few attempts (4, possibly 5) in, so am still hoping though
FX for us both! when will you be testing??
I'm expecting AF sometime between Sunday-Monday so am hoping for a BFP before so it's a great present for Fathers' Day coming up Sunday (here in Australia - not sure Fathers' Day is the same in the UK, USA etc)

Hi LMSM, Yes, our cycles are almost lined up. Sorry about the BFN, but it's not yet over until AF shows up, there's still hope.
I'm currently 12/13 dpo. I haven't tested yet. My main PMS symptoms are nausea, bloating , waist pain, cramps, and most especially terrible headaches a day before AF shows up.
The headache started this afternoon, so I guess AF will be here tomorrow or next, which is when I'm expecting her anyway.

Ttc is a very tough journey, but there's always hope.
What would you do differently next cycle?
I'm expecting AF anytime now. My cycle hasn't been regular for some time, It's been between 24-30 days, and today is CD 26. Since yesterday, I've been experiencing back pain and headaches.
I stopped testing months ago. It's difficult to keep looking at stark white tests and trying to see if there's a faint line. I'd always turn the tests in different ways, under different lights, just hoping to spot a line, and every time I do that, AF appears the same day. Emotional torture [emoji23]
I know with DH's low sperm count, conception would not happen immediately, so I won't test anymore except if I'm about a week late.

I understand the torment and heartache - we TTC'd for 2 years for my 1st, and had to get some fertility, surgeries etc help to get there....
If your husband taking anything that may help his count?
As for me, AF starting this morning I think (it's funny how much you can convince yourself you're pregnant when you're not).... so on to this new cycle!
Honestly, if I do anything different it will be back to exercise more (and if I can get DH to as well it won't hurt) we were pretty lax with that while on holidays - and keep my eyes on the prize...
Though, DH just tested positive to Covid - so wonder if I should skip this month?! We have taken turns being sick with what we thought was a cold, but could be we just all had Covid (he only tested because a colleague of his tested +).

Atomic, I have a question, please. I read somewhere that proxeed and tomato juice are great for sperm count. Is that true? DH is currently taking Men's One a Day and has been for some months now. He doesn't want to take arginine and carnithine. Should I have him take proxeed or fertilaid?
I also went for a scan some months back and my endometrial lining was found to be 15mm, I asked my doctor about it and he said it wasn't a problem but after reading some things on the Internet, I'm worried that it may actually be a problem.
Thanks for your help

The stuff in Proxeed is just carnitine plus coq10 (which I also recommend but it's much less important than carnitine) and then stuff that is already in the Men's One a Day over 50. It's also ridiculously expensive which is why I recommend the Carnitine, arginine, and coq10 separately - so people don't have to pay those types of prices (plus you get arginine, which can help carnitine work better). Fertilaid is the same thing - the equivalent of a multivitamin which he's already taking, plus carnitine and coq10. So if he's reluctant to take carnitine for some reason, he'll still be taking it, and you'd be paying a large amount of money.
If maybe he just doesn't want to take so many pills, you can find powdered carnitine for much cheaper than the Proxeed.
Tomato juice is fine, but the Men's One a Day already has lycopene in it, in a higher concentration than what is in the tomato juice.
What part of the cycle were you at when you had that finding?? That is still in normal range during the second part of the cycle. And since you are still getting your period, even if it was out of the normal range, it is not cause for concern as it would be if you were post-menopausal. If you're concerned about it, you may want to get a scan after you have had your period, but before you're close to ovulating, to see that it is normal. That might to help reassure you that it's ok.

Jazmine - How have you beeeeen? Is your morning sickness gone entirely? When do you normally have your next scan?
I am 12 weeks 2 days now and had another scan this week. Baby growing well, placenta fully developed and I had been off IVF meds since 8 weeks, no spotting no bleeding yayyy just really tough morning sickness since 6 weeks. Actually it's better than my first boy because I still have the appetite to eat but I feel nauseous all day long and vomit every single day. I hope it will go away soon. I had my NIPT done last week but it will take 3 weeks for the result to come out so I guess by the time I get the result my doc can confirm the gender from the ultrasound already. I think I won't believe that I am really having a girl unless I see it written on paper or see it on the ultrasound lol, and of course most importantly praying for a healthy baby!

I've obviously only had girls - but got more sick every pregnancy - I think it might be linked to the fact that once you have kids, you have to look after them while pregnant and so you're more tired, less likely to care for yourself as well, and rest etc...
Treens - that is SUCH a great thing to hear - the relief is huge, isn't it!? we cannot wait to hear what colour your precious bean is xx
Over here I am a few days PO - not sure when I O'd - my peak came around super early and fast (the day before was neg opk/low fertility - so no high days in between!) - but my temp indicates (FF yet to confirm) that it could have been that I O'd a few days after the peak so hopefully we caught that egg and with enough attempts!

LMSM - i am 13 weeks today they say the results will come out today. I’m nervous and excited! I often got peak right after low too…I think that happened with my second boy and we only bd’ed 2x that entire cycle on the two peak days and we had him. But I was on super blue diet back then, alooooot of meat! Hoping you will get bfp this cycle and even better a blue one!!!
Treens - that is wonderfulllll!!!!! I am soooooo happy that you get your rainbow girl back! Happy and healthy pregnancy! How far along are you now?

Let us know the results when they are in - hope all is ok :D
Thanks for the reassurance - I sure hope that what I've done otherwise will sway blue enough regardless of how our attempts land..FF still doesn't want to give me crosshairs so it feels like I didn't really O LOL

treens - OMG.. great news.. BIG Congratulations .. soo happy for you.. wow u got to know the gender by 13 weeks!!
yes, I got my 20 week scan booked.. its coming up after 4 weeks.. mid October. feels like ssoo far away.
littlewish - yeah some moms do get sick for both gender. probably just different for each pregnancy and mothers.. I am 16 weeks now.. started showing little bit even with loose clothes lol. Did you get the results?
yeah I am nervous when thinking about gender but I am more prepared for a girl. I always imagine myself the sonographer saying “its a girl” . trying to adapt that news already as I don’t want even a tiny bit of disappointment if it is not a boy.. kind of preparing myself.
LMSM - Good luck.. and fx for this cycle. am sure you had a good attempt and soon will see the bfp.
I am 16 weeks now. will be 17 weeks on Sunday. it feels a bit slower after i got back here.
Jamama- how are you doing ?
