Falling preggo within a year of having a baby

Just curious if this has any impact on swaying and what general observations have been! I got pg with an oops when DS3 was 9 months old on 3rd cycle after AF returned (had stopped BFing at 6 months). I read somewhere that you are likely to have the same gender again if you get pg that close together. Any truth to this?

I don't think that is true. I call total B.S on that theory. I know a ton of people who had opposites when they were that close together and I know a ton that have same gender. I think it is the same odds. I would think if anything it would sway girl because your body is still lacking from the last birth and hasn't built up all of the minerals and such again.

I got preggo on my first postpartum cycle when my son was 11 months old. I had a girl. I know people on both sides of the fence. Some have same gender, some have opposite. If anything, I think it sways pink. Mostly because your body is probably still in recovery mode in terms of sleep, body depletion, and nutrients. Although some people recovery from that quickly and others don't.

We may be done, we may come back for one more sway. Time will tell. At the moment, we are very content with our family!

I got pregnant with DS3 when DS2 was 8 months old so 2 boys in a row for me. However, I know a couple of other people got pregnant when their babies were 3 months, one woman had a boy then 12 mths later a girl, the other woman had a boy, 12 mths later a girl and then 12 mths later another girl.

It does seem like a bogus theory! I think that maybe sometimes people fall into same habits and then have same gender. I did find this interesting! On babycenter someone did a poll about oops baby and gender. Out of 115 people, 63 had girls and 51 had boys so seems there could be the ever so slight sway factor towards girls.

Is there really a trend to "oops" baby gender? - BabyCenter

^^On that particular survey, I'd be a boy vote. Our daughter was planned, even when our son was only 11 months. We just tried to conceive as soon as we could. And my oldest son was an oops. Lol.

But perhaps the combo of both an oops and also being within a year of your baby's birth could lean you closer to girl territory

no, it's a bunch of baloney and just like everyone already said, if anything, quick turnarounds may sway a little bit pink.

the confounding factor in all this stuff is that people who are able to get pg soon postpartum may be more fertile and thus more likely to conceive boys, so even though it may sway, the demographic of people who conceive sooner may be more "set" for boys.

now that I think about it, my PPAF took by far the longest to come back before I conceived DD. 18 months that time and has taken as little as 4

I knew a lady who had b/g twins and then 10 months later had an oops baby, a girl.

Yep, 3 babies in 10 months....not surprising she had a girl, she had just had twins, and a super rough pregnancy, 1 month prior to conceiving her DD. I went over to help her right after she came home from the hospital with DD...I wanted to cry I felt so bad for her. Her husband was deployed and she looked beyond exhausted.....10 month old twins and a new baby. I guess people who have triplets can relate.

I have a friend who had gotten pregnant 3 months after having a DS. She had a DD. Also I got pregnant when my DS3 was 11 months. I had my only DD. I know she never nursed and I always.do.
