Cheaper ones can. Make sure the one you're buying is certified to be free of mercury (or at least extremely low levels). Nordic naturals are crazy expensive but they are of the highest quality and I believe they are mercury free (or very low). I think the ones I used to buy at Trader Joe's (not sure if you are in the US) were cheap and if I recall were mercury free. Definitely research the ones you buy, sometimes they can contain mercury if you aren't careful.

You should be fine if you stick with the major brand. I've always bought Jamieson and their fish oil is from small fish like mackerel only. Just read the label and make sure it lists the sources, most major brands I know should source from mackerel, anchovies, sardines, etc., so there's no issue there.
I get Jamieson at Shoppers Drug Mart (Canada). Average prices and Shoppers always has sales too.Me (38) and DH (38)

Virtually all fish oils that come from US, Aus, UK, and Europe are fine. Even cheap ones. If you get known name brands even better. The ones to beware are in countries that are NOT those I just mentioned and anything imported from Asia/Africa.
