It can both move up and delay O depending on how it affects your body. If it makes a lot more eggs develop, it may take longer for them to be released because rather than focusing on just one or two eggs, your body uses the available resources to develop 3-4 or even more, meaning it might take a little longer for the eggs to reach maturity.

Thanks atomic, I thought I Oed on cd16 but remember my post of the confused cervix so after thinking about it for days and going over my notes lol I think I might of Oed on cd19 or cd20 because on cd21 my cervix closed and semi hard, so I was thinking that my body was gearing up to O since cd16 and it finally happened on cd 19 or cd20 because of my notes on cm, I normally O on cd 15 or 16 depending on if its a 30 or 31 day cycle, so I guess I will never know for sure what day I Oed lol

That is true, didn't think of that, my lp is always the same so I can count back and figure out when and if I did indeed miss the egg,

I just read on an old IG thread that "soy lengthens cycles" and they were actually taking it to move their O into the right "moon phase" so it's not just you - it really does make you O late.

okay so I can get on ig with my cellphone and not my laptop, makes a lot of sense huh? Okay so after some research I found a lot of woman who have normal cycles and took soy it delayed their ovulation and they could never detect when it was, these are woman who said they had no issue ever determining when ovulation was until they started taking soy and they were using cp,cm, temp, and opks and still couldn't figure out the day, they knew approximately when (like me, I know it was tue through Friday, one of those days) they never got post opks, cp would be soft open for a couple of days, they said they couldn't tell by temping(never found why, maybe all over the place?) and I also found some woman who say they get pregnant easy and was doing soy never conceive(with the same delayed O and no pos opks) and took their break from soy and got pregnant next month(strange huh?) So they said O wasn't strong enough to detect, so were they Oing? Or was it not a very good egg, since it seemed their body was having a hard time trying to O, I don't know I am looking for lol, I am completely baffled that I had sex close enough to O and not pregnant, I have always conceived 1st mos trying, it no big deal will try again but does seem strange to me and the only thing I did was take soy

Some days I get on right away and other days I can't get on at all. I barely ever go there any more because it makes me depressed (lotta water under the bridge there). What I do is I read the "cached" threads on Google ratehr than going to the site itself - Google is ape-free!!

That is really interesting, thank you for sharing this info. Crazy about the lack of pos OPK.
It is SO hard to know what is going on with people, because I know for a fact that some people stretch the truth when they post and then other people make honest mistakes and even people who are total experts can have months where they just miss the surge.
What my guess would be is that the fluctuation in estrogen levels that the soy caused made the OPKs impossible to read for some reason. I don't think at all that "O wasn't strong enough to detect", that sounds like something somebody pulled out of their butt LOL.
Delayed O after a couple attempts does not indicate anything about the health of the egg at all.
Even if you've always gotten pg first try, anything can happen between your last baby and your next baby. As we get older, lots of things change both for us and for DH, even if just a year or two has passed.
If you're worried about the soy, skip it. You don't need it!!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
