I keep the older stuff up because some people want to sway that way and the stuff I wrote (IMVVVHO) is more clearly written and easy to follow than on some of the other sites.

Any kind of alcohol has seemed to be effective. Whatever you like.

Every 4 days is just an easy way to be in with one attempt in the fertile window for most people. You don't really have to think about it, so it's just all very effortless.

I did find and already reply to that thread you attached. If I was going to map it out for one attempt, where would the best day to make that one attempt be in relation to O?

Re when to attempt, it's what works best for you. Timing doesn't sway, been totally debunked, but some do want to try it anyway. If you want to try it, you'd aim at 2-3 days before ovulation. Or (and this is what most of us do since it's relatively easy without all the guesswork) is do OPK tests and have your attempt at the first positive on your OPK.

Yes alcohol has been very successful for us. 1-2 drinks a day and it IS ok while nursing (I have a fancy science explanation for that if you want it).

Alcohol does come out in breast milk, but only at about the % it is present in blood. Since you're legally drunk at .08% BAC that means that is the amount coming out in breastmilk. That is by far too low an amount to even affect a baby, the amount of % alcohol in a beer is 4%, glass of wine is 12% to give you a comparison. You would be passed out drunk or dead (.3-.4% BAC) long before the amount of alcohol in your milk could ever get a baby drunk or even tipsy.

It's interesting to read all of this.
I have 3 girls, (Miscarried a 4th baby between Baby 1 and Baby 2). DH and I have always been alcohol free for personal reasons. We also had sex every single day from the time my period ended till after O. We also got pregnant, the first time with all 3 girls. My friends with boys asked what we did and I told them what I just told you. My Dh now wants a boy so I am guessing we should just do the opposite of what we did with our girls. (However we will always remain alcohol free).

I have an explanation of why, although some people have gotten girls BD daily through O, it is not a tactic that I recommend for anyone to try.
