It is tough to start with but gets easier. Can you have diet coke in between as this helps to fill me up.

I love to eat bagels and crumpets too; a great go to if you're low on protein but can't afford the fat!x

PS I was also a big snacker/meat/protein consumer so initially it was hard going but I'm there now, no probs!! Even declined every offering of sweets on an obstacle course race yesterday!x

Delaying it even just a bit may help.

My suggetion is ease into it rather than jumping in with both feet into the deep end. Your body does adjust over time.

Also if you're eating a lot of empty carbs this may aggravate it, so you may need to try upping protein a bit (even up to 50-60 g if youre struggling) and see if that helps. Fat also if you're not getting enough, you can have up to 60 g fat and 30 is bare minimum lower limits.

That's my problem, I'm trying to avoid too many food groups that I just don't eat enough!

As long as you're in limits for the day they are fine.

It's the limits that matter. Not the foods.

I keep trying to remember that, then I read the pdf that says things like "avoid garlic, onions, and sweet potato and sprouts are magic boy foods..."
And I freak because they are all my favorite foods! I ate a sweet potato every night when I conceived my son [emoji849]

I can soooooo relate to this feeling. We put heaps of garlic and onion in every meal, I eat a bowl of oats every morning for breakfast, and avocado and sweet potatoes probably 3-4 times a week. ALL my favourite foods are on the "D-list", lol.

Please try to understand that this site is a work in progress and when it started, I was basically this one crazy woman telling everyone things that no one else believed. I had no data to back up my claims and was operating on sheer common sense. I HAD TO take into consideration the things the other sway diets believed in because if I had come out swinging in 2011 making it all about limits and not foods, then people would have not joined us and we wouldn't have been able to learn all the stuff we have learned since then.

Additionally, the thing is, you don't technically NEED to eat onions, garlic, etc. They're certainly easy enough to avoid or limit them, and when in doubt, I do try to keep as much of the "old school" advice in the mix as I can as long as it's not harmful. So why not skip the oats or whatever for a few months, it doesn't hurt and may help, yk?? But that doesn't mean you have to then go insane over it and go running away from a loaf of garlic bread screaming. Don't seek it out but don't flip if you are in a situation where you have to eat them, even regularly (like small amounts of garlic in seasoning.)
