    Replacement(s) for ROBITUSSIN

I've been thinking to ask this for quite a while.

Robitussin or guaifenesin as an active ingredient in cough syrup is NOT available here.

So I've done some research myself about the other active ingredients in cough syrups (expectorants) that are available in pharmacies here.

So some other expectorants are acetylcistein, carbocystein, bromhexyn, ambroxol...they all do the same thing as guaifenesin - thin and loosen mucus.

I was thinking to use carbocystein ( I'm not sure how it's spelled with 'y' or 'i' sorry!) which is active ingredient in MUCODYNE syrup, I'll do the dosage from instructions, use it 5 days before O etc, the same like Robitussin.
Do you think that would be OK? Mucodyne doesnt have antihistamines in it.

If it has no antihistamines and is just an expectorant then yes, I do think they would work. Let me know how you get on with them.

If you don't like them or feel that they don't work, I can even send you (or anyone really) some Robitussin or Mucinex in the mail and I would be happy to do it.
