    Supplement doses

I am slowly coming up with a supplement list for DH and I that I am happy to start with. There are just so many supplement recommendations though. I have read and re-read all the info regarding supps but I am still having trouble with getting all the correct doses. I don't know if my brain is just overloaded and I have overlooked a thread but is there one that lists all the doses?

Also, I will need Clomid to conceive, as I did with my two daughters. I know there are certain supps you can't take on Clomid ie. EPO, but is this only when I am taking the Clomid or should I avoid the supps in the months before TTC as well? And are there any other particular ones that I should avoid with Clomid?

    Sorry for the question overload!

    Hi Bec!

Clomid sways pink, is there any other medication you might take? Depending on how old are you ( the older, the better ) you may want to check with your doctor DHEA, it helps with ovulation and IVF candidates are taking it.

You don't want to stop supps week before attempt because you want to be sure your internal environment is boy-friendly.

Here are some supps and dosages:

    FA 2000 mcg or more/day
    Fish Oil 1000mg/day
    vit E 100-400 IU/day
    Zinc 50 mg/day
    vit B12 150 mcg/day
Royal Jelly/Bee pollen 50 mg/day 1 teaspoon in the morning, 1 in the evening
Green Tea 2-3 cups per day, improves overall fertility and sway blue, but blocks FA absorption, so if you are taking it make sure you are having enough FA!!!! Also can be taken in the form of tablets
    L-Arginine 500 mg/day
Robitussin - there is a sticky above dedicated completely to Robitussin
Alka Seltzer Gold - I cannot find it here and I'm not sure about the dosages

EPO - IDK, it did nothing for me, just moved my O day, so I left it out. You don't need to take all the supps, find those that are working best for you.

Also good Prenatals are swaying blue, there is a Sticky about them too.

Here are few links you may find helpful http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...ng-supplements
    http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...ng+egg+quality
    http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...upplement+list

Also there is a sticky about Wheatgrass juice.
And last, but not least: Baking Soda drink (BSD), only af->O, I think maximum dosage is 3 teaspoons dissolved in a glass of water, but it's a MUST to check a Sticky about maximum dosage bcos you CAN OD with it!!!! ( I can barely swallow 1 glass of it, so I'm far, far away from maximum dosages)
If you are older then 35, you may want to include CoQ-10 in your sway - antioxidant, 50-100 mg day.

    HTH!!!!

Thanks for all the info Zivic, very helpful

I have never heard of DHEA being used to induce ovulation. Maybe it depends on the country? I'm in Australia. I actually needed FSH injections as well to conceive my first daughter so I guess I could go straight down that path again. I'm not too worried about Clomid swaying pink. It didn't actually make my CM dry up and that's the main reason it sways pink isn't it? Without actually realising it, I was totally swaying pink with my girls in every way.

Yep, I do have time on my side, I'm 27.

I'm going to use ural instead of ASG and BSD I think, apparently it's better?

From what I've read, ASG has pleasant taste and Ural not quite, but I haven't tasted either of them.
BSD will raise your pH and give you your Sodium boost.
ASG is also rich in Potassium (344mg per serving)

Clomid makes hostile CM and therefore decreases the number of swimmers which sways pink. But maybe you can counteract with some good lube ( atomic is highly recommending PreSeed) and Robitussin.

You are so young, so you don't need DHEA.

Hmm, I will have to do some more reading about ural/BSD/ASG and figure out which one I should start with.

Yep, will definitely be using either Preseed or EW and Robitussin as well.

this is the hardest part for me, choosing a supplement. and not even so much fo rme but for dh esply since he is not 100% agreeable with theories (in life in general). he doesnt want to risk his health with some pills that i give him bc of something i read on the internet. a true skeptic. even tho everything is natural.

i also put together a list of supps with doses, thx for yours zivic! i have some additional ones. but i dont know which ones can or cannot be taken with clomid. i took clomid for the 1st pg (didnt end up needing it) and had my DD (actually conceived twins but one didnt make it early on).

    DW
    Tribulus Terrestris (TT) 200-750mg/day (AF-O)
    False unicorn root 900mg/day
Zinc 8mg (i saw that dose for women..but i wonder if 50mg is ok?)
    Potassium 99mg/day

    DH
    TT 200-750mg/day
    L-Carnitine 500mg/day

    ASG 2tabs a day

    zivic had the rest!
    good luck!

My DH is all for taking supps. He has always wanted a son and he is the reason I found out about swaying actually.

I have almost finished my supp list including doses. DH and I will both take a prenatal, but I just have to work out what extra supps to get that aren't in the prenatal.

Gizmo, I saw you posted in the thread about TT. Does that mean you will be removing it from your list? I hadn't researched much about it yet but after reading the thread I am going to steer clear of it.

My DH and I are reasonably young so my main goal of the supps is to increase testosterone, pH and EWCM. I am going to try fertilaid for women before we ttc to see if can regulate my cycles and help me O.

The problem is we really don't KNOW why Clomid sways pink. We suspect it's the hostile CM but no one honestly knows for sure. But a lot of women have conceived boys on Clomid so I wouldn't be deterred.

AT 27 you dont' need DHEA (and in fact it can affect you negatively at that age) but just to clarify, it doesn't trigger ovulation, it may make healthier eggs and lower FSH levels in older women.

I like Ural better than ASG and BSD.

Too much zinc is actually just as bad as not enough. I would take only 20-25 mg.

I personally prefer you guys get potassium through diet and not supps. Playing around with your potassium levels can be dangerous.

There are some ingredients in fertilaid that may sway pink, namely Vitex (some people believe B6 sways pink, but I don't.) That having been said, a lot of people have conceived boys on Vitex, including ME!
