I would be trying closer to the 24 hours because you don't want to risk missing the egg. And yes electic blanket does create + ions, no need to lay on it after you dtd because heat will kill sperm.

I am far from an expert, but I have read that if you get a +opk in the afternoon to bd the next morning after a shot of espresso for dh and some oj or something for dw b/c bloodsugar can naturally just be higher (good for boysway) in the AM.

I always have my electric blanket on the lowest setting. It isn't really even noticeably warm but at least it's getting some +ve ions out there.

I know it can be confusing and the thing you need to understand is that when you see a + it means you are going to O the next day or the day after that, it does not mean you are ovulating right then. So if you are swaying boy you need to dtd on the day that you O which would be 1 or 2 days after you see the +. Girl swayers who are aiming for O+12 will wait 12 hours longer than that.

You can always DTD when you see the + as well as the next day. Then there will be sperm waiting in the crypts. It is up to you if you want to go with the traditional boy timing (which as Bec said is DTD 12-18hrs after +) or if you want to increase your chances of pregnancy by DTD a few times around O.

Positive OPKs are BEFORE you actually ovulate. You will ovulate anywhere from 8-48 hours after you get a positive OPK test and for most people, it is about 36 hours after your first positive OPK.

The timing theory for a boy says to DTD on or just before ovulation. So if you DTD 12 hours after your first OPK, you are 100% certain that you are DTD on or just before ovulation.

There is another timing theory for girls that says if you DTD 12 hours after OVULATION (not after positive OPK, but after ovulation itself) that sways for a girl. Since pos OPK happen BEFORE ovulation, it is boy timing to DTD 12 hours after pos OPK because you will end up DTD on or just before ovulation, not 12 hours after ovulation.

Does this make sense??

People who believe in ions do use electric blankets to create pos ions. However, I do not believe in ions for swaying and I have concerns that electric blankets can cause your husband's testicles to heat up and kill off sperm, which can sway pink. Men who want boys need to keep their testicles cool by avoiding tight underwear and should not take hot baths either.
