Anyone using the clearblue fertility monitor??. Please help, think I've messed up my sway :(

    Hi Girls,

Just wondering if anyone is using the Clearblue fertility monitor?. I used it with both my boys and thought it was fab.
I've just started using it this month for our first attempt, however I have had all highs since cycle day 6 and it's now day cycle day 22 and still no peak!!!!.
I'm usually regular with a 26-28 day cycle and OV on day 14/15, but with being on the LE diet for 2 months now, my cycle last month was 32 days.
I did read that you should only leave the stick in your ****** of urine for 3 seconds, otherwise it won't detect the LH surge and I've been leaving it in for 10 seconds!!!. I think this is what happened to me because I've been using the OV strips as well and I think I got a positive on Christmas day as the lines were nearly as dark as the test line and have gone lighter now.

I'm really worried that I've messed up my sway now this month because we have DTD 3 times now because I thought I was going to ovulate the next day and didn't!!!. I've been so good as well with the diet and lost a stone. Think I've messed up now doing it 3 times and potentially swayed Blue Atomic advised me to just DTD once at positive OPK and I know the best Pink results are with 1 attempt.
    We DTD the 20th, 22nd and 24th Dec and I think I ovulated on the 25th/ 26th
Damn fertility monitor............ should have just stuck with the OV strips. Just hoping all the sperm from the 20th/ 22nd would have died off by the 25th/26th and still give me a chance!!.
Has anyone any advice?. Thanks x

In my experience with the monitor, sometimes you miss the surge as they tell you to use FMU and some women do not surge until later in the day. I used to do the monitor in the morning and mid afternoon do an internet cheapie just to make sure, I used it for about 8 months and twice the monitor missed my surge which the internet test strip showed later in the day. Maybe you could do that as well just to make sure?

IF, I ever TTC again, I will be using this so I am interested to see how others respond! Will also be using OPK's like Aidan's mom suggested!

I think they are excellent but because you only test once a day the risk of missing your surge is definitely there, but having cheap strips pretty much covers that little problem AND having a positive on a digital is a certainty that strips don't always give you.

Don't beat yourself too much. I had the same happening to me with ovulation strips, kept getting dark ones for days and totally screwed up my sway. Kind of glad it didn't happen for me in that cycle. The following cycle using strips AND digital I had a very sure result and then had 1 attempt at O as planned. I had another one the morning after but temp had already risen so I'm sure the one that got me pregnant was the +OPK attempt. There's always next cycle, you'll be fine. Good luck.

if you can afford both OPK and some type of digi tester (CBFM or a different one), that's great. If you have to pick one vs. the other, I think the cheap OPK strips are overall more reliable than JUST digital monitors are. There is a learning curve with the OPK but once you get the hang of them, you get a better quality of info than with the digi's. The digi tests, by virtue of making them user friendly, lose a fair amount in translation. Plus, they're so expensive that many people can't use them as often as they truly need to.
