Clarification on one attempt

Hello all, have been a lurker until now. I'm hoping to start the LE diet soon and try to conceive late spring or summer. I've been making notes in preparation but still a little confused about the one attempt. We may try the abstain and one attempt but can we have sex and just not release in me until our actual attempt or should he not be inside me at all during the abstaining period? Can he release during the abstaining period.. But just not inside me. I wasn't sure if
actually being in me had an effect on pH or anything. How long do we abstain?

You can do that for the one attempt, but if he's releasing then it doesn't count as abstain.

The one attempt part is what works anyway, so if the abstain is a sticking point, it's fine to drop that and just let him "do what he does" provided you guys have only the one unprotected attempt.

The abstain and the number of attempts are actually two different tactics done separately so it's ok to do one or the other and not both. since one attempt has by far better results, keep that and drop or keep abstain as per your own preference
