TTC DC # 6
I am continuing a pg diet while nursing my DD - starting to tailor it to boy diet but still keeping in dairy. I've started up a few breastfeeding-safe supplements: Prenatal, Folic Acid, Fish Oil, B-complex, plus extra B6 and B12. Doing the B's to help keep postpartum depression at bay since I struggled w/ prenatal depression/GD. Also doing Vit. D and Iodine supps a couple of times a week. DH is about to start a very primal/paleo diet to try and lose weight but I will keep up a moderate carb intake. Going to start some strength training when my midwife gives the go-ahead! Hopefully will shed extra baby lbs and build some muscle by the time my cycles resume - will chart & add more supps at that point

♥ Umm, had NO idea there was such good research re: running = girls! I was running 40+ per week prior to my girl pg's, so cut that out and do weights and resistance, with a bit of light cardio. Diet approach is pretty much what Atomic rec's with lots of food and variety of nutrients. Trying to limit sweets and soda which is what I used to live on. Supps I do fish oil, folic, zinc and ACV daily. AF to O will do either BSD or ASG.
♥ Tropicgal

No cardio, weight lifting. We're also doing one of the high tech at home methods---MSU. Our attempts are going well...seeing lots of sperm and almost all XY after sorting. I'm older---35, so it may not be helping to limit sperm availability overall

Cheeky, how's the poas going? Fading in yet?
TTC5, that's some poas action that you have going on. The digi stick at 11.30pm doesn't look like a positive out of the actual tester. Is the bottom ic one from 11.30pm as well? I do love seeing that smiley. Going to have to get me one of the digis I think. Where did you end up finding it? Hope you are managing to get some sleep today after your busy night. How did it go?
Lola, just keep in mind that if you do take Clomid, you can't take EPO or wheatgrass.
Begonia, the ignorance would be bliss again wouldn't it? Can't wait to see your nub pics.
How's everyone else going?
Rememeber how last week I thought I was going to O? Well, I didn't then. But I am now 4dpo. So freakin excited that I am starting to O on my own. That's two months on my own. And I had really good EWCM too, go the fish oil! Hopefully my body keeps co-operating.

New thread for July ladies :)
Blah blah blah ... what we all want to know is HOW DID IT GO?!?! As your DH said last time, do you feel pregnant yet?!?
Welcome to your 2WW, TTC5. FX it ends with a nice early BFP!
Jen glad to hear you're feeling better! I mean, breathing out of both nostrils somewhat well is considered better, right?!? Here's hoping you're 100% very, very soon.
Had dinner with friends tonight and they have a 4 month old baby girl; 1st time I got to see DD2 up close and personal with a baby. She did GREAT! It made me feel really good. She was a-ok with me holding the baby (she actually TOLD me to hold the baby) and kept trying to feed the baby tortilla chips... luckily we kept stopping her. It's funny; DD1 had zero interest in babies before her little sis came along, so it was interesting to see DD2 really engaged with the little one.

Bec I am SUPER excited for you and the O'ing on your own, this is amazing!!! That alone has to increase your chances for a little fella! Do you think it is diet/supps helping?
Plum3
June 29th, 2011, 10:30 PM
It's funny how kids always like to feed babies isn't it? How old are your girls? Sounds like DD2 will be great with the little bub when it arrives.
It must have something to do with the diet/supps/weights. Not that I have changed my diet a whole lot yet though. Who knows?! I'll just keep tracking and hoping, hoping, hoping that this Oing bizo keeps up.

June 29th, 2011, 10:41 PM
DD1 is 5 1/2, and DD2 just turned 2 .. they are almost exactly 3.5 years apart. DD2 and new baby will be 2 months shy of a 3 year gap ... and to me that feels like they will be really close in age, LOL!
Yes, I definitely hope your O keeps happening on it's own! It's fantastic to see such a positive change!
Plum3
June 29th, 2011, 10:57 PM
They will both be at a age where they can help when the new baby arrives. Mine are exactly 20 months apart so by the time we have our next baby there will be a big gap between them.

Bec did some research and apparentley the cbd are considered + when they smile regardless how dark the line is. Also, you can not tell soley on opks when exactly you release the egg and lh is metabolised differently for different women. Some may release when it goes negative, some may release while it is peaking + and some may release soon after the surge. Puts my mind at ease now :)

ttc5 i heard that the opk can detect the surge going up,then going down so maybe you have a long surge. i read everywhere that once you get your 1st opk positive,to dtd up to 12hrs later cos you ovulate from 12-48hrs after.best to be early for a boy.plus it takes a few hours for the sperm to be adjusted....i think! i'm hopeless, youre more switched on than me, i think you just need reassurance cos its such a "what if" moment! im sure youve done great:bigsmile:

TTC 5 it's still June 30th here
I believe your timing was OK :agree: I strongly believe it's better to be a bit early then miss the egg completely.
I'm going to jump the gun tonight, still haven't tested with OPK today ( few more hours, hold your pee....) but my CM is very EW like and my CP is higher but still closed. There you have all TMI you need
jane- you are right, sperm need 4 hours to capacitate inside.
Bec - it's great you're Oing on your own :agree:
Imo, you won't have big age gap between DDs and their brother

YES Bec only one thing beats a double line on an OPK and thats one on a pregnancy test! I must say I can't believe how anxious I feel - I think I will be doing a manic happy dance like TTC5 did when she got her positive OPK.
I definately think the table gave me good info- Although the jokes on me-. as It is NOT working anything like the last three months this month Ahhh the best laid plans......

Hi gals - I am popping in for a minute here. Honor is super fussy in the evenings, which is when I usually checked in on the forums. Going to try and pop in sometime in the mornings (her best time) to keep up w/ personals because I miss cheering everyone on!

Hopefully will shed extra baby lbs and build some muscle by the time my cycles resume - will chart & add more supps at that point :)

Tink for food recs I ate at least 2 of these a day, packed with sodium/potassium and a decent amount of protein. I loved them! http://www.ballparkfranks.com/franks-turkey-franks
Also dried fruit + nuts is excellent. And beef jerky is another good protein + sodium snack to have with dried fruit. I grew to love v8 hot and spicy, buy the low sodium and just add a ton of salt. Hmmm, oh I ate cereal with whole milk every night, too. And lots of fruits and veg, obvi potato, banana, tomato, but also avocado is great IMO for ttc boy with the fat/potassium. For breakfast I usually ate eggs, bacon, and fruit salad.
So there's some ideas to get you started ...
Last night we were laying in bed and my DH was like, do you think there's any chance this one could be a boy? I felt so sad for him, in a way, because I know he wants a son so badly but doesn't think it is possible for us. He said that's why he wants to wait til delivery too. It's the first time he has admitted all of that. Anyhow, I don't know if I'm just protecting myself or it truly is intuition but my gut tells me it is another girl. That said I was sure DD2 was a boy so I've been wrong before ... here's hoping I'm wrong again, I would love for DH to have a son. And this is for sure our last baby so we're either getting a son now or never.

Just realised there's a July thread already, it's only the 30th June lool.
Begonia, i could have written your post because i think i'm having another girl. Maybe it's my way of preparing myself should that be the case. I went for scan today & was nervous about everything. Suddenly i was kinda regretting for putting myself through the torture of finding out if there's a heartbeat, is it ectopic & then from there it's is baby healthy, is a boy/girl aaargh! Anyway scan went well, i'm 7wks 1day, due 11/2/12

Bec - so glad you're o'ing on your own and getting tons of ewcm, I swear by the fish oil! I still have my bfp from all mine too, my test from dd1 is 10 yrs old and still perfect!
B- thats great dd2 did so well! My girls have always been obsessed with babies, practically smother them lol My three are 2 yrs and 9 mo apart give or take a week. It's a great gap, they are close and play together well but the older is old enough to help. dd3 and this one will be 4 1/2 yrs apart, I hate that they will be so far apart. 3 and 4 were only supposed to be 3 1/2 yrs apart, stupid m/c. I also am on my now or never baby, fx we both have our boys.
ZB - good luck!!
Skrimpy - glad to hear from you and you're doing well!
Kris - fear not the huge boobs, I usually only go up a cup during pregnancy. Nursing is a whole different story, with dd2 I went from a small C to a full F. I used to joke it was f for f*cking huge boobs lol
Baby - So glad your scan went well! I truly envy that you're feeling great but know that I'll be feeling good again soon so gloat away :)
Seriously spending all day at or on my way to/from school. Took dd1 to school at 8:20, heading back for her awards ceremony @ 10, taking dd2 to school @ 12.30 then back for her awards ceremony @ 1:15. Hoping after that I can come home and take a nap lol

I agree with Bec and Cheeky - still have the positive HPT's from my kiddos :p
Bec - it's fantastic that you are o'ing on your own! I bet it is the supps/diet/exercise that's helping.
Cheeky - FX for a BFP happy dance for you soon ;)
Begonia - aww, it's good that your DH was able to say things to you. I truly wish we'd waited until delivery to find out with our newest DD - I had a lot of GD during pg but fell totally in love with her when I pulled her into my arms the first time <3 FX that you have a sweet blue bean in there and that you'll have peace whenever you find out :)
Kris - I only get a little bit of change during pregnancy... in the early days of nursing I feel like Dolly Parton, but then it seems to even out and I end up pretty much back to where I started (just with milk, lol)... so not everyone gets as much of a boost during pg.
baby - glad to hear your scan went well!
3PNB - beibg back and forth and back and forth is always tough when pg, lol. I hope you get your nap too - and that you're able to kick the cold. Maybe you'll be able to get some rest this weekend.

I hope they humor you too, Jen ... I know if I'd been thru what you have, I'd be begging for one too. So here's hoping they oblige. Good to know yours are around the same gap as mine are/will be! I like the spacing on DD1 and DD2, but so many of my friends have them closer together. To each her own  And I hope you get your rest today!
Baby I am glad your bean looks good so far! Phew! One less thing to fret over for now. And perhaps we're both wrong... maybe we've got :DS: but I think I'd rather get used to the idea of :DD: than get my hopes up. I'd love to be wrong this time though! And I hope you are too
Skrimpy thanks for sharing that re: waiting til birth. I'm going to hope for a good nub shot (though neither of my NT scans with the girls showed one) but DH doesn't want to know a thing until delivery, so we won't find out for sure til then. It helps to hear you think that would have been better for you. I LOVE your baby girl's name! And I'm glad you're back on our thread!
I do think I'd be less crazy about wondering if I hadn't swayed and just gotten pg. But now it feels like I need to know if all of this worked. Waiting 9 months for a test result is forever
Speaking of not finding out til delivery I was looking over sways on IG and saw HAS321 had her baby a couple weeks ago - a boy after 3 girls  So happy for her! Always nice to see someone get their DG.

B, I TOTALLY know how you feel, this is exactly how many of us are, and I had the exact same feelings when pg for that brief time. Just remember that you won't know for some time, so no use getting yourself upset over something that may not be true (ie another girl)! For me, I had to kind of assume it was a girl so I wouldn't be devastated at birth or u/s, it helped me feel like it would be ok. I guess I didn't so much assume it would be a girl, actually, as I just tried to envision both scenarios and be ok with either. Anyway, healthy is what we all want here, that is the biggest blessing of all.

Skrimpy, glad to see you again and all is well! I know how those evening fussies are, my #2 was that way for sure. Making dinner was a joy. But so glad you are doing well and back in the swing of things.
Good luck, ZB!
Bec, right on with o'ing on your own, girl! I didn't know you couldn't do wheatgrass with Clomid...oh well, I may not get it, have no idea what my rad doctor will get me going with. We decided not to do all the testing. Too stressful, and I don't need any more unnecessary medical bills. My gut instinct tells me we had bad luck with bad eggs or embryo or whatever and just being healthy and trying again is all we can do.

OK, here comes TMI:
I had -OPK at 2pm BUT my CP was very high and soft around 3pm and SHOW around 5pm.
DH came back home around 5:20, so I was all over him immediately lol! and we dtd once around 5:30pm, no bsf, no ew ( although I planned to use some but gave up the idea as I had enough ~hopefuly~ EWCM with pH close to 8:cool: So I didn't want to ruin that natural CM with such great pH.

Lola thanks for empathizing! I love how many of us in our little crew are really coming from the same place on all this stuff. It helps so much to feel like other people "get it" too.
Beg whine and cry Jen! Do it shamelessly! Last time I got the NT scans, which here they do at 12 weeks and 16 weeks, and then no more for the rest of the pg. But my doc said due to having a large birthweight baby (dd2 was almost 9.5 lbs) they will probably do a late-term scan on me with baby #3. Which will SUCK b/c I will TOTALLY want to know gender at that point, LOL!
ZB, c'mon, there is NO tmi anymore, LOL! That EWCM sounds PERFECT for your attempt so I think skipping all the other fake business was smart. Go with the natural when you've got it for sure! With CP SHOW and all the CM I would guess you'll O within 24 hours. I would wait a couple hours since you just DTD, but I would check the CP/CM again later and see how it feels. I bet by tomorrow afternoon you'll find it closing up.

Begonia, i was trying to ask all sorts at scan today but didnt get much info. I asked about placenta & she said she cant tell because it only develops from 101wks, asked about heart rate she said she cant check but she did say she thinks i ovulated from the right. My scan pic has baby on right side so i dont know if that means left but i if i remember well scans are read differently depending on how they are taken, mine was an internal one
begonia

Interesting about the scans Baby! I had no idea about the placenta not being developed yet, not being able to check heart rate, etc. I totally forgot but I did have an 8 week scan with DD2 as well. So I had 3 with hers. And with DD1 I had 5!!! That was unusual though and the extras were for different concerns my doc was having.
So Jen you'll be 10 weeks when you go, right? And hey congrats on having award winning girls
My nausea has been so weird so far; I just have absolutely no appetite. I'm feeling awful bc this baby is not getting much nourishment ... I've been trying to drink juices and milk to keep some nutrients going, but I just feel so blah about eating. It's bizarre. Begonia, it's hard knowing this will be your last baby and this is your last chance. I soooo hope you have a little boy cooking in there. I want this one to be a surprise but DH 'needs' to know. I talk as if I'm pregnant already!
Ohh I so can't wait for the big prego boobies. I went from a B to a D, woop. Now, sadly I am an A. Why oh why did they have to shrink so much? DH loves my prego boobs too.

Babydes, yay for a strong heartbeat :) Looking forward to hearing the predictions on the gender. From what I have read (and I could be wrong), because wheatgrass can lower FSH levels it can interfere with the way Clomid works. Wheatgrass lowers FSH but Clomid attempts to produce more. You're not meant to take EPO either when on Clomid either but I did, and I still O'd. So I'm sure it can still work but you just need to be cautious.
Jen, hopefully you manage to squeeze in a nap today. I'm kinda looking forward to doing the school runs in a few years. Must be crazy?
Lola, ita. Healthy is the number one priotiry.
Zivic, woo hoo! Let the 2ww begin. So excited for you and TTC5!

Hi ladies, sorry I've not been on.
Quick update on me: I'm on CD 9 I think and will start taking OPK's on Saturday. DH's 36th b-day is tomorrow and I told him Saturday night (his party) is his last night then cut off begins.
I've been on the thyroid meds for 2 weeks I think. Setting my alarm for 5am to give me the 4 hours before any dairy or iron. Suck. Oh well. I'll have to wait and see if my cycle is back on track or not this month or not. I will keep you posted.

That's awesome, Bec!

Awwww! I sure hope it is a boy for you and DH.

How many days of +opks do you usually get & why did you not wait you had +opk. Do you think the opk would have been + had you used a better brand? How many times are you planning to dtd?I usually have 1 day of fainter +OPK and the next day +OPK, so I'd say 2 days.
Last month I've found cheaper OPK strips, so I couldn't resist and bought them  What a waste of money....I'll post a pic of that crap so no one repeats my mistake.

I doubt i will be trying this month or for a few months maybe, my donor is messing me around so i'll most likely be going through a clinic to do IUI or maybe IVF. The out of pocket cost after Medicare rebate for IUI about $1,200 and about $1,800 for IVF so not that much difference. At least with IVF the eggs and sperm are put together and if they fertilise i get to use the rest in subsequent attempts if the first doesn't work. I don't know, I like the odds more with IVF but don't want to go through all the testing and meds.

To everyone - about waiting to find out or not: like I shared, I wish we hadn't because I had really, really horrible GD, esp right after finding out. But when I pulled Honor into my arms I fell instantly in love. I wish I could have enjoyed my pg more and feel I would probably have... I would have had that "hope" to keep me cheerful, then I think I'd have just been smitten with my new babe. BUT... having saif that, lol, I agree about not being able to NOT find out. If Lord willing we conceive again I will probably find out again. I hope after my experience with Honor I will not have such horrible GD. But DH absolutely wants to know with all our kids. He doesn't mind not telling me, lol, but I think that would drive me nuts. So it's just really a hard thing. In many ways I think not knowing is better, but the temptation is still so great :p
Lola - I think what you sais about envisioning both scenarios (boy or girl) and coming to a peace with either is very good. One thing that did help me w/ GD and anxiety was knowing I had both girl and boy names I really loved.
ZB - FX that your BD went well! I usually had 2-3 days of EWCM, actually O'ing on the last day of it. Do you usually have one day or more? I agree w/ TTC5 that with the open cervix it sounds like things were ripe and ready :D
Begonia - I always live off milk in the early days when nothing sounds good :p
TTC5 - I am keeping FX for you!!
Cheeky - wooooo hope you had a good time with DTD ;) Tons of blue dust coming your way.
iluv - hopefully the thyroid meds work for you, I know they are helpful to a lot of mamas.

Skrimpy I'm thinking milk and some fruit juice and I'm at least getting some protein and vitamins! It bums me out bc I really believe it matters what I eat even now, so I wish I could stomach some solid, well rounded meals for this little one. Hopefully that will come soon. It's interesting to hear that your DH always wanted to find out, b/c my DH never wanted to know, he's always wanted surprises ... though I think with this 3rd now that we have 2 girls he is more curious than he was with either of our 1st pregnancies. It is so wonderful to hear you go on about how happy you are with Honor; I remember some of your tough days and hope those are far behind you. And FX you get your blue caboose
Oh and so in pregnancy symptoms, I have NEVER had this much CM. Good heavens it is ridiculous. I've read that it is normal but I know I didn't have it with either of the other two. I'm not trying to read into it from a gender standpoint more just remarking on how crazy it is!
I don't want to tell people about our bean until I at least hear the heartbeat, but wow is it hard! We're going to dinner tonight with some friends and the wife was texting me earlier about how we'll be cheers'ing our margaritas in a few hours, LOL. I'm sure when I say "I just don't feel like a drink tonight" (which isn't like me... I'm usually up for one with dinner!) she'll be on to me anyway. Hopefully she won't make me fess up and she can sit there quietly thinking to herself about it... they know we want one more so I'm sure it will take her all of 1 minute to guess why I'm not drinking.
We are off tomorrow for a family vacay (where I am sure my IL's will guess I'm pg again due to the no-drinking) and I won't be back til Tuesday, so hopefully no one will be POAS while I'm gone. I'd hate to miss big news! But I think our 2WWers are early enough I won't miss anything... FX for all of you!

I am SO hoping you get your BFP Alexis! I just posted to you in June (and July, cause I'm a stalker, LOL!) 2WW that I went from stark white neg at 8dpo to a pretty obvious BFP on 10 dpo (but late in the day) with a FRER. And I do think those are very sensitive; when I tested the next day (again in the afternoon and not sure how long I had held my pee) with a CBE digital, it came up negative. So I totally rec the FRER.
I go 7/28! I'll be 8 weeks and 2 days! Hoping for a nice strong heartbeat :awe:

Kris217
July 2nd, 2011, 05:12 AM
I don't care about the costs, we're just so over donors! Sarah had trouble with a few as well so we'll just give it one last try with my donor if he is willing that is. IVF is tempting as the egg is fertilised before it's put back in. I just worry about the left overs, as i'm not sure if i'll be having more than one. If Sarah can't get pregnant then i'd carry hers somehow...not sure what the laws are in NSW so i don't want to have too many embryos frozen.
I should ovulate in 4 days so i will email my donor, as he said if he's not on his ski trip he will do it. If i don't get a response i will write him off and move on.

Yep, I use FF as well. I think your O date has changed because if you O'd on CD13 your post O temp on CD15 would have dipped below the coverline. How long after +opk do you normally O?
I had the bulging veins when I was preg so hoping it's a good sign for you! Actually, I still have bulging veins in my hands, very nice!

Spicy - glad to hear DH's boys are swimming strong :D
I think that's true about finding names you really like to help. Finding a girl name I love right now and DH agrees on has really helped me come to peace more if I end up having a girl and w/ 2 boys in a row I would think a girl for me is more statistically probable. It seems small but I think you are so right.
I'm totally confident I will O this cycle so I think things are on track again and that the meds are helping. I'm totally stoked.

On CD12 and just confirmed a smiley face OPK. I have no idea if this is Day 1 or Day 2 of +opk since I was too busy and didn't take OPK yesterday as I planned. I guess I'll do another OPK tomorrow and find out. Wow, I didn't expect to O early at all, although, CM has been good for a couple of days.
I guess us DTD this morning was OK but really only took Mucinex right before and did no other sway stuff. CM was watery. We finished in the missionary position, bummer. :) I guess we should DTD tonight or tomorrow morning also, to up our chances. I just started charting my BBT on FF as of 7/1.

Hi ladies
It is really interesting reading your posts and not feeling like the only "lunatic" who is trying to control gender of future child by diet. I have only told a few of my close friends about my swaying, with others when gender is discussed I say stuff like "apparently salty foods and eating breakfast everyday makes boys" and they all just laugh it off giving me an example each of such and such who always/never eats breakfast/sweets and has opposite of my theory. So really glad to be here to exchange ideas. I have still not decided whether we will find out either. DH never wants to find out and I always do. So we did not find out with DD1 but did with DD2. I was not concerned about gender with DD2 as I already got my girl and never really cared about having a son much, so I was happy that DD1 would have a sister. I know DH really wants a boy so maybe we will wait to find out this time. I will find it sooo hard though. I only had girl names for DD1 and DD2. We could not agree to boy names with DH. This time we have agreed to two boys names (yes already I know I need a BHP that sticks first) and have not to a girl's name. I think we will leave it like that so maybe we will end up again only with the gender that we have found a name for.
Look forward to chating with you all...

Ladies I have been concerned about this moon theory that full moon ovulation = boys and new moon = girls. I have worked out that both my girls were conceived during new moon. I can see from your posts that you all seem to be ovulating around the new moon. I hope I can prove the theory wrong as I cannot change my cycle that is when I ovulate and get my period. I would really appreciate it if you could work out when your previous children were conceived using this link:
http://kalender-365.de/lunar-calendar.php
Just a rough estimate would be great. The way I worked it out was by remembering the due date for my girls, then counting back 40 weeks from my due date and adding another 2 weeks as I usually ovulate at days 14-15. If you could all be bothered to do this I would be SOOOOO greatful. I will ask the pink thread to do the same as well.

Layla- Welcome :) and Yes unfortuately my two girls do fit the new moon theory...and I did just ovulate in the newmoon only a day or so into it though :) Hoping the accumulated ions from before plus the other positive ions i surrounded myself with will sway should i get that BFP....

DD1 should have been a boy = full moon
DD2 should have been a boy full moon on that day!!
DD3 waxing moon so lean girl
DD4 waxing moon so lean girl.
So for me I have a 50/50 chance lol.

Layla, you didn't need to add on another 2 weeks as they are included in the 40 weeks. So really your girls were conceived around the full moon so completely de-bunking the theory for you!!:agree:

ELP you crack me up it is 40 weeks from your last menstrual period until the due date therefore you either count back 38 or you count back 40 and then forward for 2 to get to your ovulation day also :fx: for you sounds like you Oed in waning moon so you don't need to care for the moon theory, yet it would have been good to get your stats.

I have only been observing my CM after I finished BF DD2 this month and today it was good thick and with spotting!!! All good signs right. Before this month we were not using any contraception and were not really going to try swaying and I was not getting pregnant, so hopefully I have started ovulating as soon as I stopped the breastfeeding. Only one way to find out right. We were going to wait till August but I don't think we can. I am getting old and I would really feel so much better if I was pregnant when I went back to work. I really don't feel like going back to work but will love it knowing it is only temporary and that no-one can sack me. I think 6 weeks on the diet is enough what do you think? I am not taking supplements so no need to wait for them to kick in. DH has been complaining that he is "getting meaty" I don't know whether he was talking about himself or trying to tell me something in a nice way but i do not like my boy diet chunks either and I have only been on the diet for less than a month :hair: So I will go and buy those opk things and use them together with my saliva microscope next month and eat like crazy until then.

ZB - woohoo!
Baby - I see a midwife and usually only get one scan at 20ish weeks but I'm hoping between the Oct incident and my 10 yr history with them that they'll bring out the little office one just to take a peek. Truth be told I'll beg, whine and full on cry to get it done if I have to.
That's what I did at this last pg appt, which was 8 wks. Now I know I can pull that again, especially with having the empty sac thing. I know you want to see that bean, I will too! Fuss away and they will do it!

This may be too late on the drinking advice (when pg and not wanting others to suspect)....because I always have a cocktail with people, so it would be clue #1......this is what I do: either tell people you are on meds that you can't have alc with, make up something (little white lies....you can fess up later), OR just order your drink (like a vodka tonic or something) and then excuse yourself to the bathroom and go tell the waiter you want a plain sprite with a lime in it and tell him you are pg but not wanting to clue your friends in, they get it. I've done that lots of times. Just give em a nice tip for being cool. I guess another good one is just saying you are hung over from the night before and just having a water to detox, or you are detoxing for ttc in the next couple of months. There are lots of good excuses.

Layla, don't worry about it too much. The moon is by no means a clincher. Just means that more + ions are present during a full moon and more negative ions during a new moon. It is said that male sperm are more attracted to a + ion egg, so you want to have more + ions around you when you ttc. If the moon is not naturally on your side, and you are worried about this (lots of people disregard, it is not a big swaying factor for most people), you can counteract the ions from the new moon and add positive ions when you dtd. Most of us, just for shits and giggles, I think, put our cell phone and/or laptop on our belly after dtd for a while. Electronics have tons of + ions, which are incidently the bad kind of ions (pollutions and such are all +). I think also air conditioning and electric blankets have been used. But seriously, don't worry about it too much. My cycle is ALWAYS in the new moon, so I just rely on my sitting at a computer all day and putting my cell and computer near me when we attempt, for swaying's sake, really.

:celebrate:CONGRATS, ELP!!!!! Hope this is a sticky little healthy bean for you! You're gonna have to go with NLP pretty soon! LOL!
Alexis, I agree with FF, I think you O'ed later, which is good news, still possible that you are pg and just early. NO STRESSING about it though....it can take a few months and that is totally normal! Just keep your chin up if this isn't your month and know it will be soon!
Kris, hope all works out for you....I guess I'd just go with the IVF also if you can afford it and your donor bails on you. MEN! I know I can't afford all that stuff, so I understand completely why you are trying to do this on your own first, I would do the same thing.
Good luck in the 2ww, Cheeky, TTC5 and ZB! Let's keep this ball rolling! Anyone else in the 2ww that I failed to wish luck to...my bad! LUCK!!!
Tink, I don't know why, but I tend to O at different days each month. Anywhere from CD12-18. I am CD14 today and am actually Oing today (any minute now, actually), although we are skipping this month. Don't worry about it, the supps and swaying can make you vary, but just keep tracking! Most women O on different days anyway, not swaying.
Hope you pregosauruses are doing well. B, don't worry about not eating, just get something in you. I didn't eat anything but a banana and maybe a yogurt for 4 months with DD1 (lost 15 lbs actually, almost had to go into hospital), and suddenly the ms lifted and I ate like Gengis Khan for the next 5 months and gained the 15 back plus 40 on top of it. But, my DD1 is fine and healthy and smart as hell, so don't worry about it. I think most of us have had one that we worried about as we didn't eat much in the beginning. You are doing the right thing, though.....take that vit and try to eat when you can.
What up, Iluv...glad to see you back too, hun. Don't worry about your thyroid meds swaying. Just get it under control and yu will be just fine. Hope you are doing ok!

Sorry, I am way behind! Skrimpy- did you sway with your newest baby girl? Sometimes I wonder if all of this diet/money into supplements are worth it- but I remind myself that bringing a child into the world is permanent, and all of these other things are temporary, so taking a bit longer to get pregnant and giving up ice cream (though the TW does seem tempting) isn't so bad.

Well we had an unexpected turn of events tonight. A good friend of ours who has donated to my partner last month offered to help me too and came around with a fresh sample for us to use tonight :) He will be back tomorrow to drop off another one. We used a vaginal speculum tonight, to reach my cervix. Sarah had one of those torches that go on your head, she looked funny but it did the job. She said my cervix was really opened which is good, she injected a little sperm into my cervix and the rest all over it. I laid with hips propped for 90 mins before i had to get up and pee. I put an instead cup in before i got up and will leave that in for a few hours.

Thank you babydes. I did not O yesterday I got my period LOL. Sounds like I definitely need more time to work out what i am doing I don't even know when my cylce is (granted it was a bit early but still). What do you think is enough time? I am in my late 30s though. It took a while to get DD2 because of m/cs and if I get to over 40 my chances of another DD increase dramatically. Also I have had high cholestorol in the past. Never high blood pressure which is good but it does run in the family. So I am really not happy about being on this diet for too long. Also if we skip this cycle and next cycle we will be too close to DD2's birthday. I think it would be nice for both kids to have separate birthdays. Thanks again for your advice.

Hey lady, thanks for asking! I did lose some weight, not sure how much, but I feel better. DH and I started yoga again, doing 2x a week, and I can already see some muscle coming back. Not to mention, I told my yoga instructor that we are having issues ttc and she said yoga is excellent for that, gets the blood pumping in your pelvis and all over. I do remember being super fertile and had girls when doing a lot of yoga back in the day. We are now on diet again, and I think I may start some acv and such soon. UGHHHHHHHHH but not much else. We will likely do some boy stuff when we dtd (preseed, position, etc) but I am just so worn out with ttc and m/c stuff that I am not as in to it as I wish I was.
I just held my friend's 2 month old baby boy for an hour up in my office while she took ballet class and I thought I would be DYING over it, but right now, I just feel whatever. Clearly I am being self-protective here, telling myself I don't really care if I have a baby or not, subconsciously.
Anyway, I hope you are right, Babydes, and the luck keeps rolling. Blue crew had a big dry spell there!!!! I am SO glad you are doing well and baby is plugging right along!

Sorry again, hun!!! I would drop the soy, I bet that was it. I'm wary of soy....Cemas tried it and had a long cycle, if I can remember correctly. Many take it for the twin factor, but I don't think it helps fertility much.

Hi Aleaxis,
how much soy did ya take and what days?
i took 160 mg day3-7 and it delayed my O to cd50. on the brighter side i had loads of ewcm and also got a bfp which unfortunately resulted in a m/c.....I do have long cycles to begin with....so soy is risky business....so dropped it...
this cycle i am not seeing any ewcm...let alone any mucus for that sake.....am on cd 17 already and no +ves....
wonder when i will O...:( i usually get good cm....what is drying me up...no hange in supps
does anyone know how to shorten cycles or get an early O....my cycles range around 40-42 days.....

Kris - What a great friend! And how fun if the kids had the same dad! Lmao at the thought of Sarah with the light and speculum.
Layla - I hear ya on the birthday thing, I'm not real thrilled about this baby coming 3 wks before dd1's birthday. If I hadn't gotten the bfp we were going to skip a few months to avoid other birthdays.
Lola - Congrats on getting back to the yoga. I'm sure there was a bit of self protection going on while baby cuddling but fear not hun, you'll get your baby
Baby - don't give up hope yet, what's that guess based on?
My bff is due in a few days and has asked me to join them in the delivery room. I'll be there basically to keep her dh from freaking out, run interference between them and family and take lots of pics. My sister did the same thing for me and it was amazing, we got to focus on the task at hand without any distractions. Cemas-I took 120mg cd3-7. It didn't mess up my cycle. Actually O'ed earlier on cd13. Just didn't get any ewcm just the creamy that I usually get. I may drop it too. Twins run in my family so maybe I'll just get lucky lol.
How much vitamin c are y'all taking in? I think I might be taking in too much. V8, oj, grapefruit juice, and lemon water.

Nice, Tink, you are pretty regular! Have fun with your new pup!
Babydes, don't sweat it.....that is a PREDICTION and not an u/s read, so don't get your hopes dashed. Did she say that based on the Ramzi's Theory?
3PNB, that will be amazing to help your friend with delivery day, I LOVE stuff like that!!!
Cemas, I don't know how to shorten them.....and strange about your lack of cm.....don't know what to tell you unfortunately. Have you been stressed or not drinking enough water or something like that?
As for me: went to awesome doc just now. She is having me do only 3 of the 8 blood clot disorder tests, since only 3 are aquired and not inherited, and I clearly didn't have any 6 years ago. And she is having me do a cycle day 3 FSH check, and having my thyroid and all checked again also. AND I got Clomid, so here we go, baby! I'm gonna give it a shot this next month and see what happens.

Thanx Lola, i've not been on much since going on vacay. Good to hear from you as well. I'm on CD14 today. I had positive OPK's on CD12 & CD13. I had a+opk yesterday during the afternoon yesterday (CD13) but - opk at 11:30 last night. So we are done for this cycle. We DTD twice on CD12 am and pm but none last night since I fell asleep. MY CM hasn't been good since the a.m. of CD12 so I'm feeling OK about this month but I think we s/h DTD last night. Whatever, I really don't expect to get a BFP now.
Meds for thyroid seem so be helping since I've had 2 good months of cycles in a row and I was only having a good cycle every other month. I'm totally chill on the swaying, now although, I think I've gone too far the other way now and I'm trying but I don't feel like I'm "swaying" much anymore and I did drink this weekend. Not crazy but I did. We had a fantastic weekend celebrating my DH's 36th b-day and the 4th of July. In 6 weeks or so I'll go back in for another thyroid test to check if I need to go higher or lower on the meds or i'm good to go now. I'm just happy my cycles seem to be back on track again. I feel like it's killed a lot of good baby making months.
So I guess I missed your update. I thought it was Begonia who did an attempt this month but wasn't thrilled w/ her timing and I was teasing her about it but now I think that might have been you??? Was it a BFN last attempt? I think our attempts are close to each other. IDK. :)

You already know how excited I am for you!!!!! xxxxx

I hope it happens for you very soon!!!

Hi Aleaxis,
how much soy did ya take and what days?
i took 160 mg day3-7 and it delayed my O to cd50. on the brighter side i had loads of ewcm and also got a bfp which unfortunately resulted in a m/c.....I do have long cycles to begin with....so soy is risky business....so dropped it...
this cycle i am not seeing any ewcm...let alone any mucus for that sake.....am on cd 17 already and no +ves....
wonder when i will O...:( i usually get good cm....what is drying me up...no hange in supps
does anyone know how to shorten cycles or get an early O....my cycles range around 40-42 days.....
are you taking mucinex?

Glad to be doing this pregnant, a few months ago I don't think I could have handled it. Doesn't hurt that they are having a girl either lol

What is it about the diet u struggle w/? I struggle w/ eating all the time and eating breakfast but I the 9 servings and high everything is good for you. I've always eaten full fat dairy so I'm good w/ that. I'm 35. are you asking how many months your should track your cycles before attempting? I still don't have it down, although, it s/b better now that w/ the help of the girls here I went in to the Dr. after having twice where AF was w/in a short period of time that my thyroid was off and things are getting better now on meds. I was a wreck when I was expecting O and ended up w/ AF instead.
I thought I've read tracking for 3 months before to track BBt and get to know your body's signals. I just started tracking my BBT this month. My DD's have b-day 3 days apart and it works fine, but there is a 9 year age difference between them.
So if I read your question right, I would say that from my reading 3 months of tracking is good and getting to know how your body changes near O w/ CM and CP and everything would help.
Sorry I'm a bit off today so I could have this all wrong. :)

I'm feeling the same way I think Lola. ELP!!! HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORAY! Congrats on the BFP dear, I am so happy for you! And wonderful that you're fairly low-key about the blue/pink thing. That's the best! FX for a sticky bean and a lovely 9 months!
Alexis I am sorry you're thinking you're out this month! I know you didn't have loads of EWCM though so maybe look forward to having a chance to up that this time around. Trying to find a bright side for you!
Baby, don't worry about the ramzi theory, really! If there was TRULY something to it then all our doc's would be telling us at 7-8 weeks the gender. I'm sorry it bummed you out though; I totally would have been bummed to hear it too, even though I don't buy it.
Iluv, welcome to the 2WW! I'm OK with my sway; I was more just hoping for a BFN bc the timing in terms of the birth month was off... we really just tried this month for fun; it would have been far better in terms of our life events for me to have a baby next fall instead of next spring. But whatever, DD1 was TOTALLY unplanned and couldn't be a better surprise, so I'm happy to roll with it this time too. Though I will say that my BD timing wasn't ideal either, since we BD 24 hours apart and I know most go for 0-2 and 0, which is what I was shooting for. My O came on CD 13 instead of 14 though so whaddya do. At least we had a 4 day abstinence prior to the 1st attempt. And what's done now is done!
Visited a friend today with an 8 month old boy (after 1 girl) and she was all "you SO need to have a son. It's a totally different experience." I love her to bits but wanted to punch her in the face. She doesn't know we are pg again but does know (and she's one of 2 friends who knows) how badly I want a son. I think she meant it as encouraging but it was more a slap in the face.
Lola are y'all going for it in August?!?! I am getting so excited for you to jump on the TTC train again. I know it has to be hard after all you've been thru these last 12 months but I am rooting for you like crazy.
Jen, how exciting to go to the birth!!!! Oh I hope you just have the best time! And I hope like heck you've got a nice, sticky little bean nestled in there, just healthy as can be. FX they give in to your demands for an u/s. Surely they will!
Welcome Layla! FWIW one of my DD's was full moon and one was likely new. I don't put much into that stuff. I think the best sway is diet for sure. But the rest of it is fun, and I tried to get as much right as I could just for the heck of it.
Cemas FX that CM is great for you this month! What CD are you?
TTC5 your restraint is impressive this 2WW! LOL! I loved your POAS addiction last time ... it was super fun!
Tink, FWIW I was a clockwork 14 day ovulator (that sounds like a machine) but after several months on diet and supps I kinda ended up more like Lola, with a window. Mine went to being as early as CD10, but usually CD13-14. FX you stay regular, it'll make timing so much easier!
So I am sure I left some peeps out. Cheeky I feel like you were about to have an attempt or were at least doing OPK's when I last checked in? And Kris I hope things work out for you this month, sounds like you definitely got the swimmers in the right place and right time! FX!

I've been taking 1 1200mg Mucinex per day AF-O and one 1 hr before DTD to ttc. I've not heard about Vit C causing any problems.

Lola - I'm excited to help, I've never seen a birth before! What a great dr's appt! You'll be getting a bfp in no time!!
So excited for you, a had c-section with both my girls so a friend asked if i would be her birth partner & what an experience! I cried so much, it was so moving but i must admit that i was also traumatised & could have fainted a few times because i dont like needles or hospitals, hmmmm funny that i agreed to do it.

Babydes, I really hope Alestis is wrong. What is the theory anyway?
TTC5, have you caved and started testing yet?
Kris, that's great news. I have a mental image of Sarah in my head too now. FX for you!
Lola, the yoga sounds like it will be really beneficial, good work. Yay for Clomid too. What dose and days will you take it? I was a little worried about Clomid swaying girl as well but in order to have a boy I need to actually get pregnant so I don't have much choice. I'll stock up on preseed for sure.
Alexis, sorry about the BFN :(
3PNB, what an honour to be asked to be in the delivery room for your friend. Hope everything goes well.
Tink, yay for smileys. What kind of pup did you get? Bet your little girl loves her.
Iluv, good to hear your cycles are on track. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend as well :)
Begonia, how are you feeling? Hope your DD2 is ok after the stitches. What did she do? I guess people just don't know what to say sometimes in regards to having girls and boys. It's like when people ask you when you're going to start having kids after you get married. For me it was really hard when people asked because we had trouble conceiving and worried that we wouldn't even be able to have kids at all. They mean well I suppose.
There's a few of you in the 2ww now isn't there? Who's testing when??
So, I'm 10dpo at the moment and I've been spotting for 4 days now. Do you think it would be low progesterone? My LP was 12 days last cycle with no spotting or anything.

I'm feeling the same way I think Lola. I haven't been doing this too long and after the 1st BFN then w/ my cycles all jacked, I doubt I'll ever get pregnant again and haven't been as good as I used to be w/ the diet and stuff. I even drank and stuff this weekend since it probably won't matter anyway. I'm sure I'll move past it, just a lot going on in life I guess.
Oh girl, sorry to hear you are feeling bummy about it also. It's hard to be focused and positive about it with a lot of arrows coming at you from many directions, I know how that is. I haven't been as good on the diet or anything also, but you know, just do what you can and are capable of doing. You never know, maybe this was a good attempt month! But it is good to take a break from swaying and being caught up in this world sometimes and doing things like going out drinking. It can get to you really quick. I've been officially swaying for a year now, and without those few breaks and indifferent phases I had, I would be as mad as a hatter right now. So, we'll keep encouraging each other, yeah!!!

Nice Lola! Clomid sways girl multiples, right? How do you counteract, just being really good w/ diet? I debate w/ asking my Dr. for clomid since twins would be great but I'm afraid w/ 2 of my other kids issues w/ breathing that twins might not make it. I would love to go out w/ twins though!!!
I'm afraid it does. The risk of multiples is 10%, and it does sway girl a bit by drying up your cm. I have not been a champ on the diet, but am trying my best at this point. I think I will do some ew and try all the other bells and whistles during the attempt to try to counter it. But, ya know, it's not a definite girl-maker.....my sister told me last night that she has 3 friends who had boys on Clomid (no swaying, of course). I am a little freaked out by the multiple issue, but 10% isn't that high. You should try it if you need though, Iluv....I think of course getting pg is much more important, and hopefully your baby(ies) would be just fine this time.

I would feel the same way....all I can say is I agree with Begonia that it is just some theory and would be widely used in practice if it were an absolute legit way to determine gender early. It is probably a good idea to prepare for either, that is true....and easier said than done, but I know I've got some strategies to help, like thinking of names for both, trying to envision and be happy about both....mostly mental stuff like that. However, please don't let yourself get like early gd or anything, you have no idea yet and it could absolutely very well be your boy!

Bec, the fish oil is a blood thinner and can make you spot some. If you just added that recently, it may be the culprit, but a trip to the doc is not a bad idea. I agree with Babydes about getting your progesterone checked.....do you take a progesterone supplement in the 2ww?

I strugggle with the meat, the salt and the putting on weight part. All three together equal high cholestoral, high blood pressure and increased chance of diabetis, heart problems and bowel cancer and thus early death. I sound really paranoid now, but we know that these things together for a long period of time are not good for us.
You know iluv thinking about it now I think my previous AF was also within a short period of time. So that is 2 in a row for me now as well. And when it happenned to you you had thyroid problems? Maybe I should go and see my dr tomorrow. I though it was just because I stopped BF but maybe there is more to it. What exactly was wrong if you do not mind sharing? Hmmmm getting worried now. Will definitely see my dr tomorrow.

Layla - how long is long period? You will probably get pg in a year or so ( probably sooner) so Imho that's not too long. Cholesterol is good - testosterone is made of it :agree: If you already have high blood pressure, maybe consult your dr first before salt-on-everything diet?
And yes, you should count on gaining weight.
Now the healthy part of boy diet: you should have 9 servings of fresh fruit/veggies a day and start some excercise - weights are great for raising testosterone and that way you will gain more muscle mass, not fat.
There are few great threads about boy friendly excercises on TTC a boy board :agree:
Cereals for breakfast is healthy as well.
I look to it more like a change of my girl friendly life style.

This happened to me after several months on the boy diet. I never had spotting before in my life, but was having 3-4 days of spotting pre-af. Maybe your AF is coming early? My spotting usually started on 11dpo. Atomic said it *could* be related to the fish oil since it is a blood thinner. It was driving me nuts so I finally called my doc and talked to the nurse and she said not to worry about it, cycles can change, etc. It didn't keep me from getting pg obviously; we'll see when I go in for my 1st appt how my progesterone numbers look I guess. I would see if it goes away next cycle but if it is the same I would call your doc about it.

Speaking of weight gain.....at the dr yesterday, they weighed me at 170!!! (Pre-ttc and swaying, I was at 135.) Funny thing is I feel more muscular since doing power yoga (which is like push-up for every part of your body, if you guys aren't familiar). Maybe I've gained some muscle weight. Anyway, I was shocked as hell. I weighed in the 170s when I delivered my girls back in the day. My brain immediately thought of how I may push 200 if I get pg, which made me almost faint. But....strangely....I don't feel like I look terrible, mostly now because my fat has turned to muscle. Very weird. I've always been thin and strong. Ah well, I'll get back there someday when my future baby is weaned. LOL

Babydes will you get an NT scan? I think that will give you a much better guess than the ramzi theory. I think that is like the OWT ... it has a 50/50 chance of being right!
Lola I also have two friends with boys who were on Clomid! And only one with a girl. So it definitely happens. I think if you're doing other stuff to counteract you're doing what you can, especially the egg whites or preseed since the Clomid girl-factor is really the CM drying up.
Iluv I wouldn't worry about the drinking or not being perfect on the diet at this point, y'know? It is what it is and you can only do so much. Can't sacrifice your life for this! Great attitude Lola! And you know as long as you FEEL good I wouldn't worry about it. I was at the pool this weekend and was kind of liking that I'm not in my best shape... it felt so easy, really, because there were loads of women with better bodies than me, and loads of women in much worse shape. And I rather liked just being kind of an average gal. I felt way less self-concious than I used to when I was thinner, I guess because being average no one is really looking at you, KWIM?
Anyhow, you might not gain a ton when pregnant this time, who knows?!?

B, so sorry about your little animal! I hope she is doing ok. Poor thing, I hate to see little ones have to get stitches....but in a way, it teaches them to try to be more vigilant. All I have to say is, "BE CAREFUL! You don't want to have to go get STITCHES again, do you?" Or, when they have a cut or some little minor boo-boo that they are freaking about, I say, "Oh well, I guess if you think it's that bad, we'll have to go get STITCHES." And they are all, Oh, it's totally fine now, mommy. LOL
But seriously, hope you all are ok, it is never fun to be in the ER and watch your child get sewn up!:suprise:
And I hope you are right about the weight gain when pg. I am going to have to watch it like a hawk, like calorie count and stuff. GAH. Strangely, I was invited to a chix-only pool party the other day (from and interesting older group of ladies I know in town) and was the smallest one there, save one young girl (23) who was a rail. She was so self-conscious of all of us vicious older ladies with nice thunder thighs talking shit about her that she kept her cover up on all day. Bwahahahah!
SO glad to always hear about boys coming from Clomid. I might actually bust out the ew again.

You know Lola the blessing of having a BFF whose son went thru organ transplant, and going to visit them in the hospital, is I reeeeeeeeeally don't sweat the small stuff when it comes to my kids and their health. The ER docs actually commented on how calm I was compared to the moms rushing in there normally. It's a cut, she'll live, let's get it take care of, KWIM? She did a great job too, I was proud of her stiff upper lip! LOL about the stitches with your girls! It will totally work with DD1 to threaten that; just seeing sis get them will deter her from any risky moves. But DD2 I think we'll be there again before she's 3  At some point I'll probably learn how to do it myself
Too funny about the pool party this weekend!! That poor girl  I feel just terrible for her
I don't think calorie counting when pg is a bad thing at all... fact is you just don't need that much extra, esp in the 1st tri. That said I gained 40 with each of my previous so am expecting the same again... but I'm definitely going to try to keep it in the 20's. Though today the fetus has wanted Oreos and potato chips, and nothing else, so we'll see how well the minimal weight gain approach goes

Glad your bean has no respect for your ass either, mine's been demanding sugar wafers.
Baby - I'm hoping the trauma level will be low, I've seen two of my births (after the fact) and am generally non squeamish but know they'll be sobbing.
Layla - I hear ya on the diet fears but it takes years/decades to cause damage and all of the early problems can be reversed. There are healthy ways to do the diet and you don't have to pound fast food and gain a ton of weight. Although many of us packed on quite a few pounds it happened slowly over a long period of time. IMO diet if far more important then any of the other factors, it's the only common denominator amongst boy moms.
Lola - Oh the weight horror, I too am at my full term weight. I'm choosing denial, I suggest you try it

And ya, DD2s are programmed to be nuts so they get some attention, I guess. My DH thinks mine is the reincarnation of Chris Farley. We have seen this child try to zipper up a bag with such odd force that she catapults herself out of the bedroom door, looking like someone tossed her out of the bar, which sends us into hysterics. Once, I saw her SLIDE headfirst across an aisle of the grocery store when she tripped....all I saw was the sliding though. Is your doctor going to monitor you with ultrasounds to check for follicles? That way you will know if you have a chance if multiples.
Thanks for the advice on the fish oil Lola and Begonia. That's the only thing I have changed so it could be that perhaps. I never had to take progesterone during the 2ww as my levels were always fine. Clearly I need to work on her and the concept of stranger-danger.
TTC5 I wish mine got bigger with weight gain! It all goes to my hips and thighs. Waaaaaah.
Mine went there too hahaha
