Awww, another gone to school! I know how you feel about hoping no one teases her, poor thing. I bet she will be just fine, get her big sissies to teach her how to stick up for herself! Hummus is a spread/dip made from garbanzo beans or chickpeas with onion and some other spices blended in. It's delish, one of my favorite things, and has protein and cards in it, as it's a legume. You can buy it in little tubs in the store. My girls love it, too, especially with pretzels or pitas. It's good on bread products and veggies.

ZB is back I'm pretty sure! I saw her post the other day I think?
Flava I second the rec on dipping veg in hummus! So good and EXTRA good for TTC boy! Re: the smileys those are what I used too, but if you pop the stick out of the test thing you can see your fade in pattern just like on a normal non-digital OPK. Have you ever tried that? It might help. But Lola is right too ... nothing wrong with just BD every other day. Have you done that with any of your girls? I know #4 was 1 time O day, and I remember one of them was BD every day. But I think the every other day is good for optimal sperm count and you'll should get w/in 24 hours of your O that way. Seems best of both worlds to me!
Lola sorry your mama doesn't seem to get the depths of the pain with infertility. Soul destroying is probably the best word I've ever heard put to it. And it isn't like I have a clue what it would be like personally I just have a ton of empathy for people going through it as one of my BFFs took 2.5 years. Oh it was hard! And I agree, NTNP is really only if you are kinda "whatever we'll get pg when it happens" and not on like, a CLOCK. No. You are definitely in a situation where you are TRYING and there is no just "whatever" about it. I'm keeping my hopes set on a healthy BFP for you this time around.
So my healthy eating yesterday didn't continue today. The hormones disrupted me yet again and drove me to have a chocolate malt, french fries and a grilled cheese for lunch. *sigh*. I don't even enjoy eating like that, KWIM? It's just what goes down easiest. I was WAY happier yesterday eating my lentils and salad. Hoping tomorrow is another good day.
Oh my goodness on the decorating front we are building a house right now so I have to pick colors for every single room, LOL! And the exterior! I just went and got a crazy mad amount of paint chips to try to decide what to do. DD1 keeps nabbing them for art projects :-)

begonia -I never did it every day that's so not me.LOL
DD1 was 2 times in 2 days. So just 24 hours apart. DD2 was 2 time in 1 night ;P DD3 was just 1 try and DD4 also 1 try swim up.
But I don't want to try every other day because Im scared what if I start to early and get a bfp from that and that's ttc girl right?
You know it's a OWT that if you eat more junk food when you pregnant it's a boy.:wink:http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/Dragonwiz/clipart/th_eat_2_text.gif (http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/Dragonwiz/clipart/?action=view¤t=eat_2_text.gif)

4Blue-never tried a BS douche. I may try that next time if I still have creamy cm, but not with the watery cm.
Lola-I'm not sure if it was post-O cm or not. I always get lots of creamy cm at O, it's how I always knew I was Oing before charting and all. But I did use the Preseed, so hopefully that cancelled it out! Gosh I hope so! I'm just worried the sperm won't be able to swim through my cm (and this is what I feel has caused me not to conceive so far).
I'm trying to think ahead to next month and I think I will get the Royal Jelly and maybe Bee Pollen. I've heard of other ladies on my other board that have "hostile cm" like me that it has turned hers to watery so far. She's had to turn to IUI because of her cm. I hope it doesn't come to that for me because if it does, I'm SOL cause we definitely can't afford it. Our insurance doesn't cover any infertility treatments. I worry too much lol.

Alexis if you use lot's of pressed of ew I sure it helps the swimmers to get up there!
Lola I was just thinking are you using IC?? I read that other ladies didn't get a bfp for a long time and used IC left it in there for a long time ( no clue how long must be all night or so...) and that's how they got a bfp.
Im also going to use it for sure.

Some1 help me understand my stupid tests please because I don't get it!
Yesterday I got peak on the monitor and a smiley test on the morning too. But at night no more smiley.
This morning still got a peak monitor no smiley .
What is this? How can I have still peak ( peak is your best day or days usually 2 to conceive) but no smiley or + opk whatever we call it.
I just wish I started testing earlier on it...but the damn monitor was low so I was thinking no need.:worry:
Loos like I mess this up every month!
So I have no clue when did I O? I was sure today but now I don't know...

Flava I am on my phone so this won't be super well organized but I remember day before yesterday you didn't use an opk right? So there is a possibility you could have gotten a + then too... And the fact that your + was gone by yesterday pm/this am makes me think you most likely o'd sometime yesterday or very early this am. From what i have read opks are a tricky thing and not at all exact. The tough thing with opks is you can get a + even after your egg releases... you can also get a neg prior to the release, it all depends on what part of the surge you are catching if that makes sense. Do you usually get more than 1 day of opk+?
The month I got pg I tested at 2 and 6 starting cd 11 and got neg. Got my + at 2 and 6 on CD 12, but was neg by am of CD13. Based on that plus cm/cp I think I o'd late cd12 or very early cd13.
And of course remember the cycle you actually attempt to get pg will no doubt be the wonkiest one ;-) it's the hardest part I think! Luckily l don't think timin matters a ton... And in your experience it seems you have gotten your girls with different bd patterns so I don't think it is the bd swaying for you. I do think you're right though that bd 2x near o is the one pattern you haven't tried so it is worth a shot!

Begonia, it does suck to give the girls over, especially when I know they hate being there and don't get the same love and attention they get with us (which the girls tell me!). But, it is what it is. I am having one of those days where I just want to get this over with and get pg, and am feeling sad and hopeless about it all. I talked to my mom about it last night, but she is not very consoling, although she is a sweet and loving woman, she has never dealt with infertility and is also not one to really "talk" about it. She prefers to just say, "Well, I know it must be frustrating, and I will certainly continue to pray for you." I'm like, FRUSTRATING? Try soul-destroying. Anyway, I think I just have this doomsday feeling, like I've got this 2nd round of Clomid and then one more to try, and then I can't anymore and who knows, maybe it will never happen. My mom said maybe when we "stop trying" it will happen, but you can't stop trying, either I'm trying or I'm not. There is no in-between at this point. If I say we are not trying, but are not preventing, then in my mind, I'm trying. I may not do opks or anything, but I will certainly be watching my cm and cycle and wanting to take hpts, kwim! Anyway, rant over......man, you girls have no idea how much I hope none of you have to do this for as long as I have.
I have been thinking about you lately Lola.....
First off, you have a great additude for someone that has been trying for so long. Secondly, your right, TTCing is hard on us and we do need to be positive, AND you don't need to lose sight of your miracle baby either. You are always being so encouraging to us....Under the mounds supplements, extra pounds, extra food, and past your guarded heart is your dream baby. And you will have him. Your not going to have a "doomsday" where the clomid is gone and so is your chance at TTCing. With the right positive attitude and enough will power people (women) can do amazing things. Plus, (DH uses this all the time) is anything too hard for God? God will not withhold any goods things from those who love him. Your body was just getting use to the Clomid last cycle....this one could be it....let it be the cycle that you were in the best spirits, you deserve a happy ending to you TTC journey.
My SIL tried for 3 yrs with no luck at all at getting pg. They had tons of tests done and they all came back fine. Then one day AF was late. She had a beautiful boy. In the past 4 years she has had 3 children back to back, just as soon as she started having cycles again she was pregnant.
You just don't know your path, sometimes it is a bit more crooked then the person traveling next to you.

I have, it's pretty easy as long as you have a good food processor or blender. There are lots of recipes online, but I just do simple hummus with some garlic, olive oil, onion, lemon juice, and s/p in it.
ZB is back, and I know MFC is taking a break. She emailed me and was kinda asking for advice, I think she will be back in a bit after her fasting month is over.

This is me exactly. Did you have creamy only cm with your girls? Hmmm.....I know the hostile cm thing can be a big hindrance for people, but seems like you don't have that problem since you got pg before. I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet, Alexis. Once you've been ttc for 6 months and nothing, then maybe you should worry, but don't now. I know oodles of friends who took 3-4 months and it was no big deal. And FXFXFX this is our month, all of us!!!!

Flava, I did use an IC the first 3 or 4 months I was ttc last year, but to no avail. Hmmm, maybe it is worth trying again? I may pick some up later. I kept worrying, though, that I was blocking the sperm and putting it in wrong. I think the trick is to get as upside down as you possibly can and then put it in, yea?

Tink- thanks hun, the party was so much fun! Perfect your paleo sway and stick to whole eggs and full fat dairy. You'll keep your weigh gain under control by watching how much nuts and fruits you intake. Dairy is a moderation thing so no need to avoid it just keep it to a couple times a week. Remeber high fat, high protein, high nutrient for your sway. DH has been paleo for nearly a year now and the rest of us (yes the kids too) converted 5/6 months back. I was paleo + potatoes when I conceived and I honestly think it's great lifestyle and a good route to a boy, guess we'll find out in a few weeks!
Wp- yeah dh's family really values the sons, it's all about the family name. The you need to have a boy thing started when dd1 was 30 days old, she's 9 1/2 now. It's gotten real damn old.
B- LOVE the early morning cuddles, dd3 slept with me last night so we could snuggle all night! I can't believe she's 4 :(
Flava- are you taking fish oil, it did more for my cm then anything else! Ooh yes try hummus, so good! I could eat my weight in hummus and pita chips lol
Here's hoping you're right about the junk food= boy, I've been living off French fries, chicken nuggets and Totino's pizzas lol
Lola- don't lose hope hun, I know it's devastating to get month after month of bfn. I know your journey as been so long but you have to have faith that you will get there. And ita not preventing IS trying, if you know there's a chance you'll still obsess.
B3blue- we love Fancy Nancy! dd2 had a Fancy Nancy party when she turned 4, it was so frilly and fun!
Alexis- bsf will turn your cm watery without washing it all away.
Yesterday was dd3's actual birthday so we spent the day doing at the zoo. It's her favorite place in the world so into the 90+ degree heat we went. The older two were at school so she got the royal treatment, I bought her cotton candy, she rode the carrousel and the train. In our house you get whatever you want for your birthday dinner and my silly bunny wanted homemade soup lol Before she went to bed she told me it was the best birthday ever! I love making their birthdays extra special but man am I tired today. In fact I think it's time for a nap lol

How Funny 3P That was the only thing I felt i was potentially Lacking is potatoes, So I was going to add them in here soon. I have lost 12 pound in the past month in a half. And then wasn't too sure about the dairy thing. So good to know. I still have some time before my sway. I just cant decide when to do our first attempt. I am so scared that if we go for it in Sept And I happened to get pregnant I will be really sick at my cousins wedding which would such because that is exactly what happened at my other friends wedding. I would like to avoid this since I am the maid of honor. My cousins wedding is really important to me, she is like my sister. So Dh and I keep saying we can wait till Oct. Since I will ovulate closer to her wedding date...then part of me is like fuck it..what if it takes me longer to get pregnant and I'm just wasting months...I just don't know. Whatever the case is I am so excited to just get to it...I want to be pregnant..boy or girl. I almost don't care at this point I just want to love on a baby...mmmm newborn smell is like crack!

Flava, ITA w Begonia, I don't think timing matters (for anyone) and it doesn't seem to have been a factor for you. If you want to make it easy, I swear, just dtd every 48 hours right over O....start on day 10. I promise, my doctor said it is the BEST for raising sperm count and easy for getting pg. I know you may hate that idea, but LOTS of the girls in a poll I saw had boys from either dtd every day or every other day. Just thought I'd throw that out there since it's a plan that makes it a lot easier and less stressful.

I know for a lot's of ppl 30 min is more then enough time to get a bfp but for some it's not! Some1 said who got a bfp I think Kris (if not sorry) she did the same thing put legs up for a while and then she also need to go pee so put in IC before go and just leave it in there for a while.

I think the 4 day thing is not really true....it's like 2-4 days but I have read a lot about sperm left in the balls too long starts to deteriorate because it's exposed to environmental toxins. I asked my doc about the 4 day thing and she said she wouldn't recommend it for me because it is like the one time shot and she doens't think that is a good way to get pg if you are on a time frame. I've even read that daily ejaculation is best! I don't think they really know, but I do remember that thread....I know Zanacal got her boys that way, and so did a lot of people. Let me see if I can find it.....anyway, I really think timing doesn't matter. In fact, I don't think timing, ph, or minerals really matter. Ooh, how strange that I would read this thread tonight! Yep, we DTD every other day every time we wanted to get pregnant. I knew I ovulated somewhere around day 14 but I never used an OPK. We just DTD every other day starting on day 10 until I felt I'd ovulated. If we didn't catch that month we switched to every other day starting on day 9 the next month so we had every day covered every 2 months :D Quite a stress free way of doing it I feel and I wouldn't dream of DTD every other day to sway pink - I say go for it!

I really wish I knew about my DDs and the BD timing. But since we weren't really trying either time ... I just don't know! I'll know for sure the timing on this one though, LOL!
Jen I am right there with you on the poor food choices ... although calling it a "choice" doesn't seem fair, KWIM? I would PREFER to eat something besides gross mass produced processed junk, but for whatever reason my body "needs" that stuff right now, LOL. I had that one good day but the past 2 days has been junky again.

Wow, this is interesting was just reading through some of the posts and was excited to read that some of you Flava & Llove think timing, ph & minerals aren't important, I really really hope this is true cause Im such a lazy swayer.
Ive got the whole timing down right, but not taking all the boy supplements and not so good with the boy diet mmmm.
When conceiving my 2girls we dtd everyday or atleast every 2nd day and you Zancal did that also and you got boys, very contradicting isnt it???
But then Im just sooooo scared to go for it incase boy swaying is true :hair:
Tested my vag ph and if ph has anything to do with it, mine is shocking its 5.5 grrr
Please help me someone I need some encouraging words at the moment.

Your working out and getting fit....more than most of us are doing. Before long you will be TTCing again and will me a fitter lady.

Begonia - I'm really glad to know that my LO isn't the only one to nurse like that. She's growing really well so I'm not worried about her, but her eating style is pretty new to me. I haven't called my mw yet b/c I figured she'd probably tell me to just keep an eye on it and start temping if I'm concerned. I think I'm just going to wait it out and see what happens in a few weeks...
How exciting for your DD to be starting kindy! I bet you've enjoyed the school shopping with her. Hope all goes well for her next week :) So glad you're able to eat more too :D
Cemas - have you tried upping your fat intake somewhat to see if that will help bring about an earlier O? I sound like a broken record on this thing, but I have noticed that a lot of women who are having irregular/really long cycles are helped by getting in good fats (like coconut oil, full-fat dairy, etc.)
WP - I think cutting out the breads and doing a little cardio is fine! Just be sure you're getting adequate protein b/c you need tons while pg. You can also go with fruits and veggies to get your carbs rather than grains, which helps some ladies with weight. I know how disheartening it is to see the pounds come on, esp when it's never been a problem before - that's where I'm at right now. We're not actively swaying so I'm hoping to lose before we do. You could think about doing some weights/bodyweight stuff with your routine to help sway blue.
Just an FYI - situps can make waistline problems worse, because they can increase a diastasis recti, which is a gap between the "six-pack" muscles that's frequently caused by (and made worse by) pregnancies. I have a blog entry about it written here: http://blog.naturalbirthandbabycare.com/closing-the-gap/ IMO it's best not to do situps, and to find other exercises to strengthen the core. "Tuplers" can help close a diastasis and give you a flat belly.
Im4blue - welcome to the group. I'm so sorry for the loss of your little son - sending thoughts and prayers for you to conceive quickly with a sweet little brother for your angel.
Capricorn - FX for you!
Alexis - there are so many gals in the thread, I forget, what supps/diet are you doing to help with getting EWCM back? What did you take in May when you had it?
Princess of Pink - ITA!!! Waiting to TTC is very tough, esp when you keep reading all the different theories and try to balance supps, etc! Plus there is a little stress b/c you don't want an "oops" while you're not swaying. I am already temping, too, even though we won't attempt for a looong time. I have thought about doing OPK's or a fertility monitor some, too. So you're not the only one!
manainny - welcome and good luck with your sway :D IMO you should start supps and especially diet now. You don't need to wait til you're done with the pill. Just know that cycles can sometimes be off a little the first couple months after stopping the pill (but lots of ladies have regular cycles right away)
Lola - oh your poor little DD2 - I hope her day got better and a little less nerve-wracking for her. Hope this year is a blast for your ladies! ITA w/ Begonia that a lot of the supps just increase health and thus fertility in general, so I would stick with those you feel comfortable with. Keeping FX that you get your BFP very soon :)
daisy - FX for you to get your bfp quickly. For your skin, have you considered cutting out the wheat/breads/pasta? That has helped a lot of ppl clear up skin issues. Eat potatoes, fruits, and high-carb veggies to get your carbs for blue swaying. Potatoes have tons of potassium, too :)
Tink - that is awesome that your DH is so on board, it's great when our men are supportive :p You are getting really close - I hope you get your blue BFP right away ;) IMO it's important for both the man and the woman to eat hearty - the studies *definitely* show a correlation between gender and maternal influence. We also eat a pretty paleo diet here - right now really so as I'm hoping to lose this baby weight. I will add in more potatoes and stuff when it's time to sway, though (and I'm still drinking milk). I think it's a good boy diet :)
3PNB - girl I love you lol! You relate all this family drama and you sound so confident with yourself and your fam, I love that. I know that it can be really hard to deal with family, so I applaud you for just knowing what is right for you, DH, and your kids. I sincerely hope that your BIL and his gf can get their act together for their DC1 and the baby on the way. Our kids do great with their schoolwork, are well-mannered, and polite too - so I also ignore anyone who says that we are "too strict" or whatever. I think it's hilarious that ppl will say how great they are and how HAPPY they are, then turn around and say "aren't you being too strict?!" The reason we have happy, polite children is b/c they feel comfortable with boundaries! They have a lot of fun b/c we can take them places and give them experiences that we couldn't if they didn't know how to act. Ppl just don't get that.
b3blue - I hope you're able to get pg and have your little bean hang in there this time around. Can you explain more about what the protein s deficieny is?
Flava - smiley on the monitor means BD time right? It's interesting that you're getting your peak high reading and smiley the same day. If you are comfortable waiting to try I would def watch to see what it does in Sept. Even if it's different that what it does for most women, if it's a consistent thing for you, you can learn your signals and stuff to plan out timing.
TTC5 - (((hugs))) for you hun. Have you looked into the primal/paleo diet while you're taking a break from TTC? I think it has a very boy-friendly base and lots of ppl lose tons on it. When time to TTC again you can easily add carbs back in while keeping the same blue-happy protein/fats :) That's essentially what I'm doing now.
AFM - Well the bleeding has stopped but I had spotting for a couple of days after the heavier stuff. That is NOT normal for a period for me, so I am thinking maybe TTC5 is right and perhaps it was just retained stuff/postpartum... I hope so but I am still charting right now. CM has been high and dry since the bleeding stopped so we will see. I am seriously keeping FX and praying that AF is not returning already.
Honor is still sooooo fussy but I love her so much lol! She just smiles and coos when she's not fussing and it melts my heart. I know why babies are so cute!
We are in the process of totally repainting our house... previous owners put in this horrible textured paint and painted the window frames, switchplates, and outlet covers in this pukey green color (what were they thinking??) I've just ignored it for the past 3 years but now that we want to put the house on the market it's time to go, lol! I am hoping we find a bigger place and get moved by next summer... after that move I will feel much more ready to TTC :) I'm pretty excited to be looking for a new house though!

Hello my beautiful friends!!!! I am very sorry for being MIA for the past 2 days. Its been a crazy past couple of days at work.
CA........I feel your pain sweetie. I have the same problem!! The highest I have ever managed to get my PH on this diet was 6.0. I was at my wits end (still am). I wish I had answers for the BOTH of us! Let me know what you come up with. If I get anymore suggestions, I will pass them on to you. =)
TTC5..........I am sorry that person made you feel bad. =( I would have responded with " I can fix FAT but you can't fix UGLY!". Ugh.........why do people have to be so opinionated and mean. Be like Teflon baby, and let it ROLL OFF!!!
Skrimpy...........Thank you for the mighty fine welcome! =) I'm about to embark on TTC cycle #21. Gosh though.............everyday I am just soooo blessed that I was chosen to be Kyles mom. =)
So what are everyones plans for the weekend??

Ttc5- sorry hun, guess that motivated you to work extra hard that day :(
CA- don't worry about pH, I did literally everything I could to change mine and 5.5-6 was the best I could ever do. I'm hoping to give you ladies pH faith by having conceived a boy (fx) with a pH of 5.5 and a one time bsf.
Skrimpy- thanks hun, it cracks me up because on one hand people admire and are amazed that I do everything with 3 kids in tow but them give me crap that I'm no fun. Well folks you can't be one of the kids and keep control and personally I'd rather be able to have stress free family outings then be able to act like a 6yo. Good to know I'm not the only one cause in Utah it's perfectly ok to have obnoxious, out of control kids while moms shake their heads giggle and drink their Diet Coke.
I love painting, it almost like getting a new house!
Im4blue- I stopped tracking when I left ig, no boy moms do this so screw it lol
So this is dumb but all the sudden dd1 doesn't want to fnd out the gender. She was only 2 1/2 when we found out w/dd2 but even before we knew she would only look a pink things, she was dying to know w/dd3 (she was 5) and again proudly told us before the us it was a girl. Zanacal- fwiw we dtd every other day from day 10 to 20 and I've got 3 girls. I honestly think the lube we used (ky) played a much bigger factor then the frequency.
Hi 3Pink! Yes, it's obviously not the only factor but I think that some are scared of DTD that often for blue (every other day and not every day) but I've read that it's plenty of time for those sperm to recharge (or whatever they do!!). I hope your bump's doing well :D
Skrimpy - I just wanted to say that all my boys were guzzlers! They all fed very efficiently from the beginning, taking a full feed in 15-20 minutes and that quickly reduced to 10 minutes or so at a time. They were all exclusively breastfed but I got my period back at 13 weeks with DS1 and 9 weeks with DS2! I had a Mirena fitted with DS3 so I think that kept AF away with him.

Isn't that funny. Maybe she has some type of sense about your babies gender. My oldest (10 at the time) didn't want to know the gender of the baby last time, but after everyone else knew she wanted to too. TTC, Im sorry someone made such a nasty comment to you. I would look into the Paleo. I'm not to familar with the Primal, but it must be in the same lines as the paleo. I have lost a total of 12 lbs and really fast. And It really falls in line with the boy diet. I think 3pn will agree. If go back to a few posts. She told me to just add in poatoates and milk and I will be good. DH is eating pretty hearty these days as well. I have been stuffing him full of steak, tri tips and all kinds. I personally dont believe that gaining weight sways boys, Ive got a number of friends who are thin and they have boys.
As long as you have a healthy BMI which should be from memory between 19 & 25. Google BMI calculator. If you are under 19 need to put on weight and if you are over 25 you need to lose weight.

Try not to get too mad at him.....I think every DH comes from a different place....mine is afraid the reason we can't make a baby is HIM, so he will do whatever. But, I also threatened to not continue to ttc if he was smoking or not taking his vitamins (which was also the advice of the doc after our last m/c counseling). Hobbs, your DH may think you already made one of each, so maybe he doesn't believe in it....IDK, but I think you can still have a great sway without him....just feed him lots of protein and hearty food and see if he'll at least take a multivitamin or something?

Zanacal, thanks for posting, that is so funny that you read that post of mine about your bding! I will say this again, and I know Atomic would back me up on this....timing doesn't matter. If you want to be further convinced, go on FF and search for charts with criteria "pregnant with boy" and see how many of those had a one time shot with a 4 day cutoff. Barely any.
Glad the party went well and your dd had a great bday! We picked up pinkilicious at the library and it looks super cute. Reading it at bedtime tonight :)

Hey, are all your DH's cooperating with the swaying stuff? My DH is taking his supps, but that is about all. He won't stop drinking his beer, or smoking, or anything. I am so annoyed!:hair:
Mine was ok for about a week. He hadn't touched the supps since! I'm going be zen for awhile since we have time and really get on him about it next month as he's iffy on ttc altogether and I don't want to rock the boat.
Diet is easy for us as we all eat the same thing.
We may have found renters for our house which is the best news ever on the ttc front! That mortgage stinks and having that financial pressure off for awhile will be splendid.

Ohh is oatmeal good for the boy sway? I just started eating it today. Fucking hated it but I need the fiber. As soon as I Drink All my Fat free Milk I will get 2 percent again which is what usually drink. Add my potatoes. If were waiting till Oct I have a good 10 weeks to really get me and DH on this diet good and hard.
Tink I think oatmeal is very good b/c it provides a good amount of carbs and can be loaded with butter and cream to give good fats. It can help get that slightly elevated but stable blood sugar that sways blue.

Tink - skrimpy's right primal and paleo are very similar, stick to what you know and I think you're good :)
Foxy- I sure hope so!
CA- it's not as much about he weight gain as telling your body it's feast time, some of us just pack on easily. I personally went for doing everything different, last 3 I lost weight this one I gained.
Yeah I get you, Im also doing the opposite to what I did with my 2 daughters, well the only thing Im going to do differently is dtd on O & take some of the supps & Im also going to do it on my lunar months & I fall :pregnant: with a :bluesperm:
This month is our first month of ttc, Im currently 13dpo I got some brown spotting yesterday & today, massive headache, I'll test if my period doesn't come, but Im thinking I'll be a bfn, just dont have the feeling.

OMG are you serious??
My husband is only taking a multivitamin and even that he misses most days, my hubby believes in the "you get what you get given & be greatful" way of thinking grrrrr

Oh yeah sups are most important for DH because it helps with sperm count and repair sperm ect. Atomic said it can be even more important then the diet for them. But for us diet is most imp.

Flava- sorry to hear that, dd1 said dd3 was a boy till I was about 8wks in then changed to a girl and yep a girl. I think the losses when you only have one gender are the worst. I will always wonder if my two were our boys.
Hobbermittens- I was really lucky with dh, he did everything I asked. He took all the sups, ate whatever I told him to, stopped drinking coffee and didn't drink any beer af-o. I think he was secretly afraid of me blaming him if it was another girl. Explain exactly why you want him to do these things, overload him with the science and let him know you don't want to leave it 100% to chance.
Tink- ita with flava, do the whole milk and convince him on the supps. Healthy boys start with healthy sperm and smoking is so rough on the little swimmers. The ice and red bull will help but it's about increasing overall health and numbers.
B3blue- how'd you like the book? Woohoo for finding a renter, such a relief I'm sure!
CA- if you lived the textbook girl sway I think opposite is your best chance. Fx for a bfp! Suck dh started smoking again but the multivitamin will definitely help.

Hey Girls!!! How is everyone doing??? I am 14dpo and have been spotting yesterday and today. It has picked up today. I am sure AF will be here either by the end of the day or 1st thing in the morning.
Do any of you have a boy sway book suggestions??? I am having a hard time finding one.
My new plan for the month: 1st month of Femara!!!!!! I am also adding a low dose of Prednisone. They say that abx sway boy. I was on Amoxi this past cycle for my sinus infection. I've read that it takes 6 weeks for it to leave your system. Is this true???

After BDing last night hubby brought my snack up to bed since I was not mobile. We were eating hard boiled eggs when he said, "Do your friends on the internet use these to get preg. with a boy?" Hey! I have been SO busy at work lately, and weekends packed also.
4Blue....I had no idea you had those issues....I was tested for the clotting disorders also due to my losses but thankfully am clear. Do they have you on any drugs for that? And baby aspirin? I wouldn't take the abx unless you absolutely have to as well, but maybe they are for your clotting? And glad to hear you are starting Femara, from what I understand it is similar to Clomid. Good luck!!!
WP, LOL about your hub spitting out the eggs, that is too funny! Sounds like it's bd time for you, sister. FX!
Alexis, you are not allowed to feel out until you bleed, ok? I didn't have symptoms except the creamy yellow cm with either of mine recently. And lots of ladies don't, so just try to relax. When are you testing?
TTC5, nice job on the weight loss! I'll be excited when you start ttc again!
Flava, no worries, we are all here to cheer you on. You've got nothing to be afraid of, just give it your best shot!!!
And to everyone about the DH's: I do agree that it is better if he is on board with supps and a healthy diet also (at least a high-protein and high-fat diet, I think), but if he's not, don't think it's the end of you getting a boy. LOTS of boys are conceived by men who smoke and eat terribly and don't take a single vitamin. You could do the SNEAKY little things like maybe squash up a fish oil capsule and mix it in his salad dressing or even find a liquid multivitamin and put it in a fruit juice or smoothie.....I don't know, just some suggestions. Even if you just get him to take a multi based on it A) being healthier for him in general and B) making a healthy baby of either gender, I think most men will go along with that at the least. About the smoking: I got my DH to quit, but like I said, not without some threatening. For you guys, I think it may boil down to just a frank talk about how it's REALLLLLY BAD for sperm in general. I found some articles that I showed my DH (and he was freaked out) about how the sperm of smokers can be MUTATED and although can make a baby, can make ones that have dead gonad cells and the like. Meaning your DH's smoking can cause your child to be infertile. Anyway, of course know that not every smoker has this, but it's a better safe than sorry kind of thing. Maybe this will help convince them to stop....at least while you are ttc.
As for me, I am CD10 and already bding every other day. I am pretty chilled out about it. Hoping we get some bfps this month!

Any BFP's in the last 2 weeks. Lola, I'm soooooo bummed no BFP last cycle GL to you on this cycle. I'm sure DH isn't complaining too much about the every other day. :)
Hi Begonia!!!
I got to have 1 more in office U/S last week and heard the heartbeat on Friday. That will be it until my 12 week NT U/S in 4 weeks on Sept. 20th. I realized I'm due right around when I possibly conceived DS2, so that's kind of neat and a week or so after my brother's b-day (he died) so it's kinda neat for me. The in-office U/S put my due date at March 31st which is at least several days after my O date and certainly FDOL Menstrual. Oh well, I'm sticking w/ my ticker for now.
4blue, I'm soooo sorry to hear about the loss of your son at 2 months of SIDS. I don't even know what to say about that but my heart breaks. I sure hope you get pregnant right away and no more m/c. :(

Sorry Lola, I had my last in-office U/S last Friday and heard the heart beat. Next one not till Sept. 20th for the NT U/S then the "normal" U/S around 18 weeks. My dr. appts should be monthly now for a while.
Homeschool started last week but really not till this week since I am doing something very different for DD2 this year for her writing & spelling. It's brain integration therapy, right-brained teaching. Really neat but harder then I thought and I got a little discouraged last week. And we still were doing some summer outings last week. This week I've started working M,W, F w/ only 2 of their kids and till 2:45 instead of M, T till 5:00. their 2 oldest are in school as of today. I need to still figure out how DD's schooling is fitting into this new schedule. Oh well, yes busy, busy, busy. We get to go to our friends lake house and hit the boat so it s/b a great weekend.
If you don't get a BFP during that time frame will you still stay on the clomid but stop everything else?

So try this on for size. DH and I were getting down on the 19th. Since on not on a BC we have been using condoms until our attempt. This Asshole, decided to just go for it and he, well you know didn't pull out. I was so Fucking pissed. No warning at all. He said he just wanted to go for it. He doesn't care if it's a girl or a boy. OMG. I could kill him. The only thing that makes me feel good right now is, A. LMP was one the 12th, so I am due to ovulate this Thursday. SO I think i have may escaped his getting me pregnant...But you know never know. He could have slipped one by. and as we all learned back in 6th grade all unprotected sex leads to pregnancy. Oh man. Plus the wedding in 2 months. Oh well...whatever happens happens! right...It's gods way! SO what do you ladies think my chances are of actually getting pregnant 8 days after LMP?

Flava- I agree, this thread used to fly and now we're crawling!
Alexis- ita w/Flava about feeling nothing. Both Babydes and I were sure af was coming, no symptoms at all! In fact i didn't have any symptoms till I was 6wks. Like Lola said don't give up hope, it's not over till the red b*itch arrives!
Lola- love your attitude! I think being busy is good, gives you less time to over-analyze and obsess. Fx this is your month but if not think long and hard before you drop the diet. You want to know you got another girl by chance not because you got impatient and gave up. Believe that's a regret that'll stick with you after all you've done.
Iluv- yay for u/s peekings and little heartbeats! Love the positivity about your edd, which is a great day ( it's my b-day  )
Tink- odds are low but if you O early.....I wouldn't stress about it to much, nothing you can do about it now but threaten him, I'd tell him he pulls at crap again and he's cut off till the actual attempt lol
As for me I've got an appt on Wed where I'll be getting another quick u/s and hearing the heartbeat. Being 15wks 6 dys I asked dh if they offered to peek should I have them check the gender and write it down for us to look at together and he said no, he wants to wait for the big u/s which will be in 2-4 wks. It took so long to get to 13 wks but now time is flying!

Hi Iluv!!! Good to see you :bighug: Glad to hear you got to see the heartbeat last week and have your NT scheduled. And the timing on the baby's due date is just precious, I love coinciding events like that. I had DD2 on a date when, as a child, someone precious to me died, and it just made me feel a peace to think they are in some way connected. You're a :superhero: mom IMO for the homeschooling and working; the new approach for DD2 sounds great.
Tink so long as you don't O early you are *probably* Ok. I know OOB (pink swayer) got pg from BD about 7 days before O though, and then DoulaMama had her O come WAY early one cycle and ended up pg too. Bottom line ... IMO if this is your time, it'll happen ... FX you get to keep it on YOUR schedule though. Odds are DEFINITELY very much in favor of not getting pg that far before O so don't stress too much.
3PNB your DH is smart to wait it out! I have a friend who was told girl at 16wks but lo and behold ALL BOY at 20. You're so close though, I can't believe it! We'll know SOON if your DD is right again :fingers:
4blue I can't recall why abx sway but I think it is a pH thing? Either way, sorry your AF is on the way. FX for September!
Lola nice work showing DH the research on smoking! I'm sure that was a wake up for him. Here's to you getting pg this month girl. I'd love love love to see you with a BFP :fx:
Skrimpy glad the AF seems to be sorting itself out, and glad I could provide some comfort re: Honor's nursing pattern. As long as she's growing you know she's doing well :HH:
WP, too funny re: the eggs! We never even considered using them. My DH wasn't down with swaying in the 1st place so no way on this green earth would he have touched me with egg white in my lady business, LOL! CD13, you're getting soooo close!
Alexis FX! Don't count yourself out yet!
AFM DD1 started kindy today! She did GREAT at drop off and I can't wait to go get her and hear all about it. A good friend of mine was a lunch/playground monitor today and called me as soon as lunch was over to tell me DD was having a blast  She's my sweetheart and it just makes me so, so happy to know she's doing well.
Have my NT scan Thursday morning... nervous as all get out and just praying I can be three times lucky in the healthy baby department  Either way I know this baby is meant for our family and it'll all be for good, but obviously we hope for everything to look perfect.

I've been doing so much research on what to eat and what supps to take and holistic approaches to pregnancy and health. I know more now then w/ DS2 and I knew a lot w/ him. Although, I knew nothing with my 1st 3 and had no problems so maybe it better not to know. I'm waiting for my krill oil to come in so I can get on that ASAP. All these supps, grass fed meat, free range eggs, organic fruits and veggies are so crazy expensive but trying to balance and give the best to my growing baby and my others too. Balance is hard to find sometimes. Pregnancy is more expensive then swaying. :)

Hello everyone!!!!
Flava: Hooorraaayyyy for being 4dpo!!!!! FX for you!!! =)
WP: I was on the amoxi after O last cycle because I had a sinus infection. I don't take ANY meds unless they are prescribed. =) I just read somewhere that the abx can stay in your system for up to 6 weeks. I was hoping if this is true that at least it would hopefully work in my favor and not against me. =( Tooooooo funny about your DH and the egss!!!!! =) LOL!! Yaaaayyy for ewcm!!!! Go get em girl!!!!!
Alexis: 7dpo is still a bit early. Remember on average it takes an egg 7-10 days to implant. That being said though, I know what you mean. I get that "feeling" too. I hope that you are wrong and you are pleasantly suprised in a few days! =) When are you testing???
lola: I am on baby aspirin, extra b6, b12 and folic acid. Once I get pregnant they will switch me to Lovenox or heparin injections until 6wks postpartum.
Iluvmyman: Yaaaayyy for hearing the HB!! =) Good luck with your up coming ultrasound! I am also very soory for the loss of your son. =( (((hugs)))
Tink: I wouldn't freak out yet. Besides, whats meant to be will be. =)

He is taking the supps--lots of them. ANd he is good about that. It is just all his "extra curricular activities" that he won't quit, and it is making me nuts! I am only asking him to quit until I am pregnant, and then he can go back to all his bad habits!
Lola, did you do a SA for DH yet? If so, how did it come back?

Hobbermittens- I was really lucky with dh, he did everything I asked. He took all the sups, ate whatever I told him to, stopped drinking coffee and didn't drink any beer af-o. I think he was secretly afraid of me blaming him if it was another girl. Explain exactly why you want him to do these things, overload him with the science and let him know you don't want to leave it 100% to chance.
.
You are so lucky your DH co-operated! My DH doesn't really care about gender, so I can't guilt him into doing better. He does know how important this is to me, so he is trying, but his personality is somewhat rebellious, so sometimes the more I push him, the more he pushes back... so I haven't been too tough on him about all of this, because I am afraid that he might just stop doing the stuff he is actually doing!

I agree, at least he is doing the supplements. My DH would like a boy, but it isn't important....no guilting him either. I do all the cooking, so he is getting plenty of protein, and it is fortunate and unfortunate that he ALWAYS likes what I am eating. So, I have to buy/cook double the amounts of coconut water, lara bars, p.butter, boiled eggs.....and all that. He even ate one of my bowls of orange juice gelatin last night. He is so funny....if it is food he is up for it, but EW and instead cups are off limits for him. Hubby is very competitive, so he just couldn't stand the fact that I was doing weights without him. Now we do them together and he has to do more reps than me....typical man.......but maybe that means he has high testosterone :) All the DHs are different, just like we are all different and doing different sways....it will work out.
You are going to start TTCing in October, right?

Begonia: Glad to hear that your DD was doing well as of lunchtime!! How did she do the rest of the day??? Does she only do a 1/2 day or a full day???
EOE: Hello!!!!! =)
AFM: AF showed today. Not much else to report. I will try to catch up with you all again tomorrow!!
Sorry, just assumed you were taking amoxi for TTCing, I know a lot of women do try to get an anitbiotic for that reason. Not sure how long it stays in your system, though.
Sorry abour AF, are you trying anything new this cycle? How many cycles have you been TTCing?

WTH is wrong with this DH's?:nono: If you are going to O on thursday then this was just 3 day before O? Sure you can get pregnant from it!
I would kick him out of the room till is time to try again.lol

I was out a lot this weekend but during the week I am on here at LEAST once a day to post and frequently read on my phone, so I promise to do all I can to help you out when you get nervous or have questions. I want so badly for you to get that blue BFP girl!!! You're so close!

Mornin' Blue Crew!
Iluv, oops! Glad your u/s went well! I hear you about the money spent when pg, I am super anal about my diet then also. What supps besides krill do you take when pg? I am intrigued about your right-brain teaching, I will have to look that up. Good for you for doing that, you are indeed a SuperMom!!! Will I stay on Clomid? I don't know, I think she only wants me to do 4 cycles max....it is supposed to be bad for you longer than 6, but since my doc thinks I do ov on my own, the Clomid is kind of an experiment to see if it helps me pop out a good egg since we *think* my recurrent m/c are due to poor egg and/or sperm quality. So, I will likely do a couple more rounds, then on to natural.
Tink, I know you are going to hate me saying this, but I wish I could give your DH a high five. He sounds awesome. I love it! Although I know you are nervous now. Well, 4 days out....that is an iffy one. Some sperm can make it, some don't. You know I'm gonna give you the timing doesn't matter speech here. BUT, you could just go for it tomorrow? I know you wanted to wait though.....tough call. I bet you are fine, though. If you wanted to be "thorough" you could douche or something? Just some ideas, cuz I know how it is to have a potential oops.
3PNB, I CANNOT WAIT TILL YOUR BIG U/S!!!! I don't blame you for not wanting to know now....but hey, maybe you will get a glimpse of the turtle that you just can't ignore!!! Thanks for the pep talk about the diet.....you are right, I would kick myself. Problem is only that I have this weird feeling that maybe the weight is inhibiting me from getting pg, but I am not going to take a break again....too old for that. It would take me at least 6 months to get back to normal, and then I would start all over again and gain? I just don't think it's gonna happen that way, although that is kinda the ideal thing to do, like TTC5. I am keeping it up for now, just really trying to eat little healthy bits all day long, and did start working out and lifting more this week. (DH is also, he's gotta get bare-chested on stage in a month and is beefing up the pecs....nice to have a work out buddy.)
Flava, thanks for the luv, hun!!!! You know all of us have our Flava Pom Poms out for you.....
Begonia, again I say, your DD2 is my kinda gal. Waiting till she sees the backpack array in K before she gets one, I freaking love it. You know she is going to be a ballcrusher one day. So exciting about your scan on Thursday also! No reason to worry or be nervous....go in there assuming all is well because it probably is. Don't worry until you have a reason to worry, that is my motto!!!
WP, I think it's a good idea to switch things around, especially if you had such a long cycle last time. Dropping the gelatin is probably a good thing for ya. I would go ahead and bd tonight for sure, looks like you may be Oing today??? I would definitely bd on O day. I can't remember if you have answered this or not, but do you remember if things were different when you had your sons? I faintly remember you saying you were eating more?
Alexis, 10dpo is the earliest I will test. That is the day I got bfps this year, although I didn't get them until later with my girls. It's kinda up to you, if you won't be upset getting a bfn early (even though you may get a bfp in a few days). And YES don't count yourself out just because you aren't feeling pg!
4Blue, I didn't realize that you had 2 losses like that....not to be personal, but do they think they are because of clotting and other issues? I can identify with the recurrent losses, as you can see. Unfortunately, there is no reason for my losses. I've had a battery of tests done and all normal. I REALLY really hope we both get a sticker this next time!!!!
Hobbs, I didn't make DH get the SA yet. My doc has told me that since he's gotten me pg 3 times already, odds are that his swimmers work. I think if we have another 2 months of bfns, I may ask him to go ahead and do it. Thing is, I pump him full of all of the supps they give to low count and motility patients anyway, and if there is something wrong, we can't afford to do IVF anyway, so it's natural or nothing for us. I guess we could do IUI, but clearly his swimmers can swim, they've done it before. The one thing my doc said is that *sometimes* when the man has a "balanced translocation" where his chromosomes have an extra arm, although it doesn't affect him, it makes it hard to near impossible for his chomosomes to mix and make a good baby. She said he's need to do a DNA karotype ($800 out of pocket) to find out, and if that's the case anyway, we'd have to do IVF with PGD anyway. If that is the case, then we are shit out of luck. But on YOUR DH, I wouldn't worry too much, if he is taking a bunch of supps and eating well, that's good! I kwym about the extracurricular. I guess if he won't quit, you just can't worry about it too much and hopefully the supps are helping cancel that out!

I bet DD4 does miss the big girls! So sweet that you can check in on DD3; I'm glad she had a great 1st day!
Lola DD came home yesterday and let me know she wants a Tiger backpack, because no one else has one, and Tigers are her favorite animal because they are ferocious and like steak  It took me like an hour online to find a tiger pack that didn't have some kind of college or pro-team associated with it ... I will say, the internet is great for making your kids dreams come true  Sounds like your doc has really been thorough with your options which is nice. I still can't imagine that there's really a big issue; I think you've had some CRAP luck, but it just feels like it's going to happen for you naturally.. 35 isn't prime fertility by any means but it isn't like you've just got nothin' left in there, and you've obviously had 2 healthy ladies so your eggs aren't just incapable. This will happen, like you told Flava, think CONQUER! Definitely getting out the pom-poms for this month :bluecheer: Hmmm, that could be a fun way to spice things up
WP thanks for the encouragement love! What did you decide to do on the supps?
4Blue are you going to change anything up this month or keep your sway the same?
Alexis did you test?
Ladies it is just crazy to me but I have lost every bit of caring about the gender lately. I was shopping for a friend's baby yesterday and got so sad thinking I might not get to buy baby girl clothes again. Alexis: I have a crappy computer monitor, so I hope some more ladies chime in. Can't wait to hear about tomorrow's test!!!
Lola: We were on vaca when conceiving DS1 and eating a lot more than normal....lots of seafood. DS2 I had put on some extra weight, because of my m/cs. But, with both I was eating more meat than when conceiving all my DDs. I meant to tell you.... I had 2 miscarriages inbetween my DSs and they also found nothing wrong. I then suffered 1 more m/c after DD2 and none since. I only had to have a d&c with the 3rd (after 3 wks of waiting), the rest took care of themselves naturally. I know you had you girls with differeny swimmers, but things happen. There is no reason sometimes. Have you been feeling hungry? I have been eating less and I guys my body is getting upset. I am trying to stay level at least until AF shows (if she does). I have trained my body to expect more food....we need a hungry over-weight smilie for the TTC boy side.
Begonia: Too cute that DD wants her own unique backpack. Glad you are excited about meet you little one, too. Babies are so lovable and like you said, I love buying girlie things. Oh, the only thing I took away this cycle is the green tea...still doing gelatin, just not as much. And I added a bunch of new supp.
I was looking at my normal vitamins that I get from Lucky Vitamin. They have a lot of the same things I am taking already, but in smaller doses. Except more B12 and B6. I am not taking them now, but planned on switching after a BFP or maybe when I run out of all my bottles.....who knows....just a thought.
Still have EW, look like it may be turning....it has some creamy and watery mixed in. Hope my temp jumps tomorrow.

I can not get a + on my OPKs!!! I tried last month too. I bought them off ebay....I am thinking they may be junk. I have gotten a very faint line, line almost as dark as control, and then white. I did a 4-5 hour hold, too. I think I am going to give up on them. I can't drink as much as I need to if I am holding for an OPK.
Okay, I HAVE to go pick tomatoes now before supper......

B- I hear ya on the ignorant bliss of preg #1, you were thrilled and planning their room from the second the stick turned. I too miss the days before losses and friends with kids with problems. I swear pregnancy is the only place in life where the less you know the better.
Love your individualist making sure she has the only backpack lol Yay for snowcones! We do first and last day of school slurpees, it's a dumb little tradition but we all love it!
Iluv- here's a tip on organic fruit, if it has a think rind (melons, oranges, lemons, bananas) or can be easily scrubbed (carrots, potatoes, apples) don't bother. The pesticides don't soak through the thick rinds and can be easily washed off the others with a little soap and water or fruit cleaner. Go organic on things you can't wash well (grapes, berries) or that you cook as is (broccoli, artichokes). Learned that from Dr Oz
Hobbermittens- dh doesn't care about gender either, in fact I had to beg for #4. He was perfectly content with his girls, he knew I wanted it and all that I was doing to make it happen. He was just a very willing participant in the whole experiment lo
Flava- dh would kill me if I found out the gender to without him, maybe if I tell him it was an accident, baby mooned us lol glad dd3 had a great first day, love the camera's but I'd never get anything done lol My youngest is also a little bored without dd2 around but she's starting to really enjoy being the only opinion that matters lol
Lola- you are no where big enough to have the weight be an issue, I was only at a healthy weight one of the 5 times I've conceived. You'd need another 100 lbs on you for it to be a problem. I like the plan of more snacking and working out, especially with dh :)
Wp- yeah you might want to get a different brand or the "almost" might be as dark as they'll get.
Alexis- I think I see it then I don't. Make sure your checking it and taking pics in the time frame so you can be sure it's not an evap. If you see it in the time frame check again after it dries and take pics in all sorts of light, bathroom, window sill, outside, gives you more to obsess over lol

I saw the line too, Alexis. GL!!!!
Hobbermittens - my DH didn't stop extra cirricular w/ either of our last 2.
WP - I had the digital OPK's as back-up. I just watched a child's science experiments about potatoes that was intersting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exBEFCiWyW0
4blue - thanks for the condolances. Losing my son the day he was born is horrible, I can't imagine the additional pain after loving and holding them for 2 months. That just makes me so deeply sad and speechless really. I'm glad that you are doing OK and still trying to conceive.
Begonia - Your daughter sounds like a kick in the pants and a little too smart for your own good. Sounds like she keeps you guys laughing w/ a good mix of WTHeck? exchanges between you and DH. She sounds like a great kid!!
Lola - I really really like the alternative/homeopathic views. I have a great e-book called the fit and healthy pregnancy guide but be warned they have some alternative thoughts like fat isn't necessarily bad for you and raw milk. http://www.fithealthypregnancy.blogspot.com/
I also love Dr. Mercola & order products from Dr. Ron
http://www.mercola.com/
http://www.drrons.com/
I use innate response prenantal vitamins. they are seperated into I & II trimester, then a 3rd trimester. I'm considering adding probiotics but want to meet w/ a naturopath as soon as I clear up the hold on my flexible spending account cuz it's $140for the 1st 2 hr visit and $45 each additional visit I think. I took a probiotic the last 6 weeks of my last pregnancy called Ecologic Panda something and Alfalfa supps at the end instead of the Vit. K shot they give in the hospital.
So, I just got my shipment from Dr. Ron's in the mail today. Yay! My current supplement plan is, innate response prenantal, krill Oil, fremented cod liver oil/butter oil blend, Cal/Mag Hydroxyapatite Plus, and Folic Acid for now. I am taking liver supps for iron sometimes and might take Dr. Rons organ delight but it was too expensive this round. I also want to verify w/ a naturopath. My diet and stuff should add other missing important things like raw egg yolks (free range chickens - hormone free & all that) which is important brain building called Choline and other good high quality, organic, grass fed meat and stuff. The diet I am doing the worst on since I live at my hoarding mother's house w/ no room to cook, I hate cooking, my energy is wiped by 3:00 and it's crazy expensive. I'm avoiding bad food OK but not eating perfect either. I promised I would this time too. I use organic shampoo/conditioner from Dr. Ron, soap and face wash stuff and try to avoid chemicals.
No one go crazy please I like alternative stuff and it isn't the norm for sure. Like I said I want to check w/ a naturopath but I feel like i'm in good shape, I just need to eat better and cook those high quality food. I"m on the internet quite a bit researching.
Truthfully I'm sort of nervous. I know none of those things were involved in DS2's death but it is a little scary and I'd love to talk to 1 of Dr. Ron's patients just to make sure people took all this stuff and had healthy pregnancies.I asked and of coarse he said yes.
The right-brained stuff is from Dianne Craft http://www.diannecraft.org/

Hi laides. Sorry I've been gone. I've got a lot of things I'm studying and reading lately in my spare time (ha!) and then I'm tired pretty early but I think about everyone often. There is no way I can catch up w/ all the posts but welcome to some new members.
My due date is March 31st too and my NT scan is on the 19th :)

3PNB I love the slurpee tradition! I might do a slight copy and make ours a snocone tradition for 1st and last day :) Ignorance really is bliss. There are many things I wish I could forget!
WP that is nuts re: the OPKs! Definitely get some different ones and see what's up. So you think O was today, right? So in the 2WW tomorrow?
Alexis, I'm not 100% but I do think I see a lil' hint there! POAS in the am and tell us good news :bluecheer:
Iluv, good for you for doing all the research and taking what you feel is best, and I think you're smart to ask to talk to one of his patients too. Hope you hear good things that put your mind at ease. Can't imagine trying to cook healthy dinners not in your own kitchen, after working and homeschooling ... I think you're right to just do the best you can. That little bean is no doubt snuggled in there doing just fine.
I'm sure I've missed some gals so I'm sorry but I am exhausted! I'm headed off to bed. OH - Jen! Hope the scan is fun tomorrow! Keep us posted and if you get any more cute pics post them!

I think when the foetus is this small it's easy for the Dr to be off a little, I mean it only millimetres. My dates were very specific too, doing inseminations I knew exactly when I did it. On my scan photos though it says second trimester, I don't know why, a mistake I'm guessing?

I am so happy about this because I was not gonna do the diet anymore. This was it. I feel so much better knowing I got pregnant while swaying as opposed to getting pregnant while not swaying lol.

Well, I had tons of EWCM yesterday and we did BD. I expected my temp to be up this morning, but it was still 96.9....which is has been for the past few days. But, I know I am Oing or the hoover dam broke yesterday.
Oh, Hubby has another complant.....his hair is growing too fast. I normally cut his hair once a month, but now it is every 2-3 wks. And the poor guy, he is having to rip his finger nails off more often (he doesn't like the nail clippers). :sigh: My nails are growing like crazy, too.

I am still going to test through day 14 in hopes I continue on to my regular 14 day Ovulation pattern...but i am just confused as to why yesterday I had lines and today and I had none........wtf mate?

YAYYYYY ALEXIS! I am just so excited for you! Not too bad, 2 months, yea? That is SO GREAT!!!! How are you feeling? No symptoms still?
WP, that is weird about the opks. I am using the same Wondfo ones that Alexis is, you get a buttload of them for $9 on Amazon. I've never used them before, so getting used to them, but I don't think opks lie, you may just be delayed a day or two for some reason (probably swaying related). I think it's good you bd'ed and I would just keep at it. Interesting about your DSs being conceived with more food intake....that seems like good proof that diet works for you. Sorry to hear about your m/c also! You are right, so many women have them interspersed with normal healthy pregnancies. I am REALLY hoping that this is our month, I think I will O in the next few days and then we can join Alexis on a May Babies board!
Iluv, thanks for sharing your healthy pregnancy info! I think you are doing everything just fine, especially with seeing a naturopath about it. I am SURE that none of this contributed to your DS2's death.....and you are indeed creating a fabulous baby-growing cave inside of you. Hope you are feeling good!!!
3PNB, excited to hear about your scan in a while!
Begonia, I am LOVING that you are meh about the gender now.....I really hope I get that way when I am pregnant. You know what show makes me want a baby girl? Have you seen "Good Luck, Charlie" on the Disney Channel? My girls love that show. The little baby girl, Charlie, is SO freakin' precious, every time I watch it I want another one. But I think it's great that you are in that nice neutral territory and can just enjoy your pregnancy!
Kris, I hope your MS is starting to ease up!
AFM: dtd again last night and I got some instead cups (thanks again for the push on that, Flava) and I am liking adding this back in....even though I feel like I have to stick my WHOLE ARM up my vagingo to get that mother out! I slept with it in last night. I am actually kinda feeling good about this every other day thing, because I read this HILARIOUS book called "Exploiting My Baby" by this comedian Teresa something and she talks about how she got scared after no bfp for a few months (she was 37) and got too wound up about it all, so she just simplified her life and they dtd every other day and got pg right away with a boy. Ha! My wishful thinking. Anyway, trucking along. Hoping to join you all in the 2ww/bfp land soon.

I think that's the million dollar question but there's also the theory's as to why we have so many issues w/ ADHD, ADD, Autism & other stuff. There is a school of thought that our food most people eat is so deficient of vitamins, nutrients, fats & oils (processed foods w/ a lack of healthy oils and lack of good animal fats and proteins) that we aren't giving our growing babies what they need.
The Krill and FCLO/Butter Oil have great Omegas, EPA, DHA. Krill has great Vit. A, D & Astaxanthin. Vitamin D is extremely important which we s/b getting from sun exposure but with sunblock and weather, most people don't get enough and pre-term labor has been associated with the deficiency. You can make up so much in food but not many of us eat that great or supps wouldn't really be needed at all. I don't find the regular pre-natals purchased from our HMO are that good.
Anyway I'm sure that was way too much info! I think it's a hard balance to find and the naturopath is just a holistic Dr.. I will meet with 1 just to verify. It is scary though to go outside the norm. My current Dr. knows nothing beyond his scope of modern medicine and when I showed him my prenantals he really didn't look and said I should just take Kaisers. what a disappointment. My sister is due the end of October and she's been taking the FCLO & Innate prenatals so I will feel much better if she has a healthy delivery.
It would be nice if someone like the coroner would give me a call back and give me some info about my son's Cause of Death. It's just been guess work and internet research. Maybe the naturopath will give me some sort of insight. W/ a 2 hr. consult he might be able to give me some info and at least listen to me. My Dr. gives me none. AUGH! I'm just praying about the supps and doing what I think is best. :)
NO pressure and I don't want to get on a soap box in anyway, I just think it's fascinating.

I was doing the raw milk last pregnancy and totally believe in it. Taking it again is a little scary for me though since we don't bottle it ourselves and I just feel so unconfident about C.O.D for our son. I'm really really debating on drinking it again. I'm scared but I think it's benefits are excellent. Debate, debate, debate. :) That's so great you have cows on the farm. I wouldn't hesitate that way.

My 16 year old is the same way. I think some kids are just more maternal then others. DD1 sees the other kids as an inconvenience really, that messed up her life. there was a 9 year age gap and it didn't bode well for her to "lose" her parents attention. She refused to see DS2's birth and was full of attitude. We have 1 picture w/ her in the room after he was born looking like a sour puss. I don't think she ever held him. She's not happy about this pregnancy either, which it just so incredibly sad to me. Especially after the loss of her little brother. I told her she's better tread really lightly. Don't get me wrong, she's a good kid, just tells me all the time she never wants any.

Iluv- I think you're right about it being the gap. Dd1 was 2 yrs 9 mo when dd2 was born, she doesn't remember life without sisters. ita about the maternal thing too though lol My oldest would make a better mother today at 9 then my bil gf is at 22. I remember one day at the zoo where she ran from stroller to stroller to look at all the babies, I don't think she looked at a single animal lol

3PNB, glad all went well at the u/s! I am already super excited for 9/23! I just love gender u/s, and it is almost more fun (albeit more of a nail-biter) with us swaying gals. And YES I totally kwym about the fertility gods, LOL. To be honest, it would have eaten me up if they were having a boy. And I think the ex is having massive gd, he has been a huge a-hole lately, trying to make our girls do really boyish stuff, like triathalons and fishing and crap they hate.
Iluv, have they given you any timeline for when they may have an anwer? I am so sorry you are having to deal with that, but just know that the odds of "lightning striking twice" have got to be incredibly slim. xxoo
I am going to become a full-time alcoholic when my DD1 is a teen. She is already full of sass also, even though she is a sweet kid and loves her sister, she is a mad perfectionist and doesn't like it when people crimp her style. She'll be great with a baby now, but I bet she'll be a PITA about it later on. She is a moody kid. Iluv, I would have wanted to beat the fool out of mine if she acted like your oldest at DS2's birth, that would have made me livid. I guess you gotta chalk it up to those teen years and hormones and insecurity and such. I guess I was a bit of a nightmare myself. See, this is why we all want a boy, LOL!!!!

Alexis YAY YAY YAY! Will you find out or wait?!?!
WP too funny about DH and his hair! He must have it cut short to notice it growing fast. FX you caught the egg this month ... all that EWCM sounds PERFECT for a little boy!
Flava here's hoping DD1 turns it around and becomes a helper; 14 is old enough to do so much but gosh, if you're not even asking her to do much I can't imagine why the attitude. Hormones for sure though. Being a teenage girl is tough. Still! She should be Mama's helper!
3PNB so glad the scan went well; sounds like a FUN little baby you've got in there! Can't wait to know what it is! And how sweet about your DD checking out all the babies at the zoo. That is adorable. My DD1 is a great big sis now, but had no interest in babies (other people's or ours) and I expect she won't care one way or another about the next one til it starts talking. Once DD2 was more of a "person" who could interact with her, DD1 took right to her and has been amazing. But before that she pretty much ignored her, LOL. Better than poking her in the eyes  We were at a friends yesterday with a 6 month baby girl and DD2 was VERY into her, so that was fun... I'm hoping she will like having a baby around. OH and glad the fertility gods smiled on you by giving BIL a girl; FX they smile even bigger to give you your DS!!!
Iluv I get what you're saying about DD still being a good kid in spite of the attitude about siblings. We are who we are, KWIM? And maybe she's just not a kid person. FWIW I was not at all a kid person until maybe college, and even then I didn't think I'd ever want any. I bet you're right, the age gap makes a difference. I'm so sorry there's still so much left unanswered with DS2. Closure would no doubt be such a relief for you. :hugs:
Lola that just sucks that the ex is such a ... eh, why waste the words. Glad your girls have a stepfather who values women so they can learn men aren't all that way. I like the instead cups for you this go 'round! Changing it up can't hurt and those bad boys are a PITA but absolutely can help with conceiving, so I think it's a smart move on your part. WHOO HOO for makin' another May baby!!
AFM my scan is bright and early in the am which is perfect, got a sitter for DD2, DH and I can drop DD1 at school and then get it done. I've got some anxiety but I'll feel sooooo much better after and will post ASAP to let everyone know how it goes! Thanks for all the healthy baby prayers. This group is the best :HH:

Oh, Kris, could just be a mistake on your scan re: the 2nd tri notation. That makes no sense otherwise. Maybe call and ask?

We weren't happy w/ her at all, it was such a shame to have her act that way. I can't say she wouldn't act similar again though. maybe a little better but she's looking at it through very immature and selfish eyes. She was at all of the other kids births and now says how it has traumatized her, which is such crapola.
Teenagers are tough in such a different way then little kids and I would advise as much as possible when they are young (especially those crucial 1st 5 years) to establish your authority and tolerate no back talk or disrespect at all. Don't get caught up in arguing with the either. Of coarse, it's no guarantee they won't pull major attitude but it helps them to know when u mean business, especially when they start challenging you and you can't really back anything up. Your whole parenting way has to change w/ teenagers. All they want is your love and affection and time, but they like have this attitude and mouth and body language that says I hate you (might even outright say that), don't touch me and don't bother me. Then they are so over sensitive and you get to hear about all the ways you don't meet their needs of love, time and affection and how you've wronged them. You just want to pull your hair out or have them move out to grow up and have some experience beyond their self-involved world. I'm pretty intolerant of any back talk or attitude but she still does her darndest to push every button I have. I do regret not making her do consistent chores and learn to do things to the best of her ability all the time no matter what.
Lola, I'm not sure we'll ever know. Its possible that the coroner won't talk to us because they might pursue a case against our doula or he is just really really busy. The coroner plain won't return my calls and you don't want to push too much cuz you're hoping the case will just go away against our doula. We have to rely on internet searches and guess work. We could also pay I guess for an independent examination of the findings to get some more info but will probably be a lot of money, I don't know where to start and my DH doesn't want to know any more. In case we were at fault or could have saved him I guess. That info is just going to hurt us I guess and not help so he doesn't want me to pursue anymore and stir the pot so to speak.
It's such a crappy place to be, but I tell you I'm very thankful for this new one growing as it adds some hope and joy. Fear too. Don't get me wrong I'm not wallowing in self pity at all, but I wish I believed in the lightning theory but it's a sinful broken world and it can happen. The hope of coarse is that it doesn't. I also had to realize(i still break down at times though) that any one of us could be taken at anytime and I have to relinquish that control. My brother died of a brain bleed at like 30. You just never know.
Anyway, I'm like a big downer today. :) Sorry 3PNB that the little one didn't cooperate for you today but another U/S is around the corner. Yay!
My DS1 is so sweet w/ the babies like that too. He's just always loved babies and took DS2's death the hardest out of the kids. DH let me have this one partly because it's so important to DS1. He just has a gentle spirit and way different like that then my other ones. I got pregnant too w/ DS1 when DD2 was 19 months. She pretty much ignored him when he was born and he just has always been. DS1 will actually be kind of a pain when this 1 is born cuz he'll be all lovingly up in his business and bugging the baby all the time. We'll figure it out, its better then him resenting and DD2 will probably ignore the new baby for the most part. Dynamics are so funny.

Alexis congrats!!!!!
AFM - have had a rough day today and need some prayers that everything is going to be ok. Found a large lesion on dd's scalp... took her to dr today and 3 different drs checked it over and they said it looks like a ketosis but they have never seen a child with this before. It has literally appeared and grown in less than gosh, 5 months. We have been referred to a specialist for Monday to rule out anything sinister. Please pray for her, she is only 8. I am terrified :'(

Begonia-I will TOTALLY be finding out gender!!! I am a planner! If it's a boy, I will be repainting the nursery from pink to BLUE! DH will have to know too.
Now my worries are setting in. Like what if it doesn't stick? What if it's a chemical? Ugh! Nothing can be easy can it? I think I will feel better once I miss my period.
LOL.....I already told my DDs about it. My oldest is excited and my youngest still feels like she's my baby (she is of course). I just asked DD1 to count how many lines she saw on the hpt, she said, "Two! Does that mean you're having 2 babies?!" LOL She's not quite 5 yet. She's my funny one.

WP - GL to you on the O.....go BFP.
Lola- you know I'm praying for you
Alexis - Such a Hooray from me on the BFP!!!
Same here DD1 is 6 years older the DD2 and she don't like her at all! And she can be so mean to the others. Yeah very nice...
It's not like she don't have to help out she just don't want to plus omg she is lazy. And they can't do acting up and talking back here we are not like that .But if I don't tell her to come do this and that she just on the phone , computer , Upad and so on.

Oh TTC5 I can imagine how scared you are, poor Mama!!! Definitely will be praying for her. Please do keep us posted, big BIG hugs to you and her right now. When is the next appointment? Soon I hope.
Alexis, you're TOTALLY PREGNANT!!!! Whoooo hooooo! Try not to fret much; think positive and nourish that bean. Did you have any ms with the girls? FX you have none this time around! Can't believe you told them, LOL! I still haven't told mine. Still have a flat belly, once I start showing I'll tell.
My appointment today was FAB!!! Super wiggly little one, loved loved loved seeing that. No nub that I could see which made me super happy; I'm really cool with a surprise so don't want to be obsessing. DH got to come and we both left with just the stupidest grins because there's nothing like seeing the baby, and I know you all know what I mean. So far the measurements point towards a normally developing babe so that is great too! And I totally heart my OB. We were just chatting and at one point DH referred to the baby as "she" and the OB was like "already planning on a girl, huh? You never know! I see opposites all the time!" which was sweet. And then he also said "but of course my wife is the youngest of 4 girls, so that happens too!" LOL. I'm just so thankful that right now I really don't have a preference. I really hope that sticks around because it is a great feeling... my prayers for this baby all along were that it would be the perfect fit for our family (I didn't ask for a boy bc I figured God knows that anyway, LOL!), and that we would feel OK with either gender, and I feel good that both of those will come true.
Oh my Flava I just saw you're 7 DPO, so you're getting to be like 3 weeks out from your attempt?!?!

Hey everyone! I hope no one minds my giant solo posts....I find it clogs up the thread less and I just jot notes down so I don't forget. I am a huge nerd.
3PNB, I totally loved that book. LMAO sort of read. Def recommend. I also loved "Inconceivable" by Julia Indichova, it was beautifully written and talks about her successful quest to beat the odds and her sky high FSH and conceive naturally. She went from being like 40 with an FSH so high that every IVF clinic in town wouldn't touch her unless she used donor eggs to conceiving her child naturally 8 months later. She changed her body with food and yoga and mental attitude. VERY inspirational to those who are dealing with infertility. It's what made me want to just take all the healthy supps and eat a more high-nutrient diet as opposed to the high-sodium, etc.
Begonia, SWEEET girl, glad your scan was lovely! I hear you about not wanting to obsess....again, I say, you are the epitome of calm, cool, and collected swayer. So nice that you love your OB also, that is great!!!
Iluv, you are so right on about teens, and teaching children from the get-go about who's in charge. I bet you are a fantastic mom! And know what, I do see a very valid point in not wanting to know any more about what happened with DS2. It may be better to just chalk it up to awful circumstance than know it was some thing that you will forever obsess about going wrong. Do you guys want to sue your doula? Seemed to me from your post that you didn't want to....will the State automatically do so in a case like that? I am SO glad you are feeling hope and joy from this new bean, and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a perfect pregnancy and delivery.
That goes for all of you, really!!!!
And TTC5, with your girl for sure! I hope all is OK!!! How scary......will def be thinking about you, hun. XOXOXOXOXO
ELP, hope you have fun all snowed in and dont' get cabin fever, LOL! Thank you for the luv!
Alexis, A LINE IS A LINE AND MEANS YOU ARE PG! Don't worry about the darkness.....like everyone said, that kind of line on a 10dpo FRER is perfect. Don't worry about that at all! Congrats again!
Flava, LOL I hate those ICs but I think you are right, they are a good addition again for me at this point. Can't wait till you start ttc....
As for moi: I am ovulating today! Send me some preggo vibes, ladies! Thankfully, we have been dtd every other day, and tonight is our "on" night anyway, so planning on doing the whole 9 again. I REEEEEAAAAAALLLLLYYYYYY want a May baby also, it would be perfect timing for our family and my job!

Lola- sucks your ex is being a jerk to your girls, glad they have your dh to love them girls and all. We've yet to talk to bil but I'll bet he's none to happy either. I'm afraid if we have a boy they will try again despite having any way to support these kids. Such a train wreck.
Yay for Oing today, sending all my baby dust your way!!
B- my girls are all way into little ones, but I'm afraid I'm this time will be different if we hear blue.
I say this with love but screw you and your flat belly  I'm huge I'll post a pic later.
So glad your little one put on a show, so much nicer then a peaceful babe! FX your lack of preference remains. I was doing great till a few weeks ago now my heart screams "it's a boy". Unreliable piece of crap Lol It's even worse now knowing bil is having a girl and exactly when we'll be finding out.
TTC5- positive thoughts and love to you and your dd :hug2:
Alexis- that's a great bfp for 10dpo! I love finding out early but hate the wait till af arr, it somehow deosnt feel real till you're good and late.
Told the girls when we'd be finding out and dd1 burst into tears, there isn't a doubt in her mind it's a boy and she doesnt want a little brother. I have a friend who had a girl and then 4 boys, if it is a boy and she's still upset I think I'll recruit her for help. Her sons are very sweet and well behaved so I hope her daughter will tell mine good stories about having brothers. I think we're going to have a LOT of May babies ladies!
3PNB I do wonder if when we get closer to actually having this LO if I will care more ... it won't surprise me if that happens but I'm sure as heck hoping I can stay in this happy place. I would totally be getting my hopes up given your DD's accuracy rate with the guessing! I think it is entirely possible she can be picking something up from you ... so fun! It really is unreal that you'll find out so soon.... I feel like you and Babydes (and me for that matter) JUST got our BFPs.
Oh and my flat belly is really a freak of nature thing. Even my OB today was joking about it and calling me the baby hider. I'll post a pic when I start showing ... it really is crazy, I don't know where my babies tuck themselves.
So one of my totally awesome friends is done having kids and is giving me her bugaboo stroller, how cool is that?!? It's orange, which I love. Super fun!

Anyone think of a fun way to tell our parents? We still haven't told them bc we wanted to come up with a cute idea... which, for us, means it'll be like 3 more months before we say anything bc we can't think of a fun way! Both live out of town. Hmmm, the video is pretty cute and hard to top! When I had DD2, I got a little plain white tee for DD1 and got some colored fabric markers and wrote on the front "Big Sister, March 2005" (which was the due date month) and on the back, I wrote, "That's right. Mommy's pregnant." When my Dh got home (the ex), he saw that and that was my way of telling him. But, I took a pic of her in the shirt and mailed it in a card to my folks, and my Mom said it was totally cute when they got it. They called me immediately, of course. But you don't get to see their reaction, I guess, but they are out of town anyway, right?

Begonia-I told my girls because I am very honest with them. DD1 knows I want another baby. She keeps telling me she wants 2 baby boys. Which would be awesome but I do tell her we will get what God gives us and she might even get another sister :) Only other person I told is my sister. She won't tell anyone as she lives all the way in Maryland. We actually are going to see her in the middle of September.
So, any of you in the path of Hurricane Irene? Lola don't you live in North Carolina or close to it? It's looking pretty rough from what they're showing on tv. I'm a weather fanatic. I love it! Yea, Flava, I agree with Alexis, should work fairly soon....maybe take some more?
Alexis, I am the same way with my kids. They know ALL about this whole journey for me, everything except exactly how the babies are made, LOL. They think the egg in my body just turns into a baby or it doesn't. I hate telling them something that is untrue, but I just can't deal with the sex talk at 9 and 6. They know all about periods and tampons and why you have a period and mestrual cycles and have even watched birth videos on youtube and tv with me. They are on the fence about whether they would want to be there and watch, but I would love them to. I think it would make me calm down during labor if they were there also....no screaming F*&K like I did last time, LOL. (Funny side story: I met a lady in the peds office with her baby when DD2 was 6 months old....we discovered they were born on the same day and at the same hospital....she says, yea, there was some lady screaming her freaking head off, and I smile THAT WAS ME......what are the odds?) Anyway, that's my style....my girls go with me to buy FRERs and even watch me take them, they think it's cool. I let them "read" them. My philosophy is that they are A) learning about how the female body works and won't be freaked out when they have their periods or are learning about sex and birth and stuff, and B) they are learning that sometimes, life doesn't work out just the way you had planned. Sometimes, you gotta just have some perseverance and keep your spirits high despite adversity. I hope they learn from my example with this ttc stuff. And when we do have a baby, it will be a total experience for them, from A to Z, ya know?
Flava, LOL....you are gonna be FINE!!!! You need to go into DD's room and find all of those pens!

Lola- I don't think she's picked up anything from us, dh and I have been very careful about the way we talk around them and have said with each baby what if it's a boy. We don't want them to think we were in any way disappointed by them. W/dd3 we kept saying it could be a boy but she was steadfast she was a girl. We've been really lucky never having had to deal with sibling jealousy or had any kind of new baby issues. It's definitly going to be a struggle and I know once the baby gets here she'll be in love but the 20 wks of grumpy before that will suck but yet here We are hoping to break her heart lol
I say go for it, pep talk those spermies!
B - I think the more swayers that hear boy the harder it'll be for you for you to wait and not care lol ooh baby could be finding out soon! Woohoo for the free Bugaboo! We suck at fun ways to share, we tend to just blurt it out lol
Flava- she's thrilled I'm pregnant just horrified at the thought of a jerk of a little brother. I've tried to convince her our little brother would be sweet like her sisters but she doesn't seem to think it's possible lol
The mucinex didn't do a lot for me but I noticed it pretty quickly, w/in a few hours.
Alexis- glad that helped, it's scary when everyone has deep dark bf's and yours isn't. I still have crazy amounts of cm, it's like it never shut off after ovulating. It's kinda gross actually lol
Well ladies I spent my afternoon at the lab, apparently between my several pregnancies and being over thirty (sure my extra lbs didn't help either) they sent me for a gestational diabetes test along with my regular labs. They tell me it's their new standard practice since you don't process sugar as well the older you get. Nothing like drinking the evil orange and then sitting there, fetus going nuts, waiting for them to stick you. I had dd3 with me so we brought the iPad and watched Despicable Me while we waited. Fun part is I get to do it again at 28 wks :(

Lola- I've been lucky on not having the "how babies are made" talk either. Dd1 was there when dd3 was born and they've all seen their births on tape several times. They love it, definitely want them all there this time. It's funny though, they know where babies come out of but have never asked how they get in there lol.
I take them to the gyno with me, dd2 even watched my pap one year. The only reason we keep pregnancies from them is because we don't want them blabbing lol

I hear ya, 3pnb! Kids are blabbers, for sure. I told my girls that we were going to keep it a family secret until we all decided to tell people, but mums is still a good thing. I don't talk about swaying or wanting it to be a boy, of course, but my girls do want a brother. My oldest said, "Don't you want a boy? Wouldn't it be nice to have boy and girl kids?" Intuitive, no? But I do tell them that I'd love to have another girl, I just want a healthy baby and they get that.
Anyway, gotta go BD!!!! Talk to you all on the flip-flop!

Oh gosh, I'm not going to lie to my kids about it, LOL! I'm totally honest with them (except when it's 108 outside and they want to go to the zoo, and I have to lie and say it's closed ) ... if DD1 asked me if I'm pg I'd say yes. But given that she started kindy 4 days ago, and is moving to a new house in 6 weeks, I'm choosing to parcel out big changes in small doses. I'm sure we all do what we feel is best for our kids. But I don't think I'm being dishonest to not tell them about the baby at this time.
Flava I will totally post a pic, of course! I'll have to scan it in but I'll do that tonight or tomorrow for sure! It's totally a cute baby  FWIW I didn't think Mucinex did a ton for me. I took it the cycle I got pg but didn't notice a dramatic change. The most dramatic change for me was definitely from the EPO.
Jen I have to do the early GD test too at my next appointment, 16 weeks. They blamed mine on having an over 9lb baby last time. So I get 16 and 28 weeks tests too. Good call on bringing the iPad! And gosh, knowing you're going to find out I want you to find out NOW, lol! The waiting is hard!
Lola I think it is super cool that your girls are getting to see some of your TTC journey up close and personal. I bet it will make them all the more attached to that sweet baby when it arrives! I like the shirt with the photo idea! I think I'll get one of DD1's old big sister shirts out and put it on DD2, and take her picture in it holding the u/s photo... then pop that in the mail

Begonia-I hope you didn't take offense to what I said!! I totally didn't mean I thought you're lying to your kids! I think it is fine that you are waiting till the right moment. I know lots of people wait. I just meant that DD1 has known all along about us wanting another baby so it was just natural for me to tell her. Hoping she doesn't blab it to anyone else yet. At least till AF is late.
Love your ultrasound pic!!! Already a cutie pie!

Lola-you sound like me. I can never go to the restroom by myself and DD1 always asks why my pee pee is red. LOL!!! I haven't figured out how to explain that to her yet. I guess I'll have a while to think about it now that I (hopefully) won't have AF for a while.

Alexis- dd3 came in once while I was changing my pad and asked why my panties were poopie lol I told her when you're a mommy sometimes you bleed, it doesn't hurt and only last a few days. It's a good thing it means you can have babies. This simple explanation bought me about 5 or so years, by the time she asked again she was plenty old enough to understand. I've used the same explanation with the other two, it seems to satisfy :)
Jane - glad you're back and feeling better, fx for your next attempt.

3Pink-I'll have to remember that next time she asks. She has often asked me why I have a big bandaid in my panties...lol. I say, it's just something mommies go through, you'll find out when you get older lol. If I'm wearing a tampon, I don't let her in the bathroom with me. I'm not ready to explain why I'm putting something in my tootie (her words). Oh I dread the birds and the bees talk.
She's also asked me HOW the baby comes out of my tummy. So I showed her my c-section scar and told her the doctor cut my belly open and pulled her out. She asked if it hurt. I said no the doctor gave me medicine. She said I don't want the doctor to cut my belly. I said well maybe you won't have to have your tummy cut. The baby can come out of your tootie too. OMG You should have seen the look on her face!! She looked horrified!! She said, NO! I don't want any babies!! lol

Yeah I'm for simple answers that aren't entirely false. Mine don't see the tamoon exchange either, they are way to far from doing that. Dd1 is 9 1/2 and we've talked puberty but not sex or reproduction. Dh has been teaching them since they could talk no babies (meaning sex) till marriage and no marriage till after collage. This is obviously partially unrealistic but I dread the real conversation too lol

BEGONIA, what a cute little baby! LOVE the pic!!! It's so amazing how they can go from a ball of cells to that in 10 weeks!
And for the record, since I was talking about my super open relationship with my girls, I don't at all think that is what every parent should do. It's really up to everyone and every situation. Begonia, I think you are doing a good thing and not springing everything on them at once, that is smart. Speaking of parenting, have you guys heard of the book "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother" or something like that? My sister was telling me she read it at a book club, but since she has no kids, she didn't know what I'd think.
Alexis, LMAO at your kid's face when you said some babies come out the "tootie!" That is a cute word! Mine say Va-JJ or hoo-ha. One time, when my oldest was about 4, she told me that "Daddy has a funny vagina." One of my favorites in the baby book.
I am not really excited about the sex talk either, but I'd rather them hear the scoop from me than some punk ass kids at school. I also don't want them growing up thinking it's dirty or bad, just that it's something special you only do with someone very special. POLL: Did your parents tell you to wait for marriage and then admit that they had sex before marriage themselves? I worry about that because I don't want them to think I'm a hypocrite, and I'd rather have an open relationship with them to where if they have a serious high school boyfriend, they would come to me and ask me questions about being safe and talk about their feelings about it than hide it. What do you guys think?
OK, as for me: 1dpo! C'mon May baby! SO SO SO hoping this month's change ups helped. I am super excited that my every other day bd plan worked perfectly to where we bd on O-2 and then O. Both times I did preseed and an instead cup all night, so FXFXFX! I am really tired of this all. Oddly, I felt REALLY weird this morning, like nauseated almost, and the icky stairwell we have to use right now because our elevator is broken smelled especially like ass this morning. Who knows.
TTC5, how is your daughter???? xxoo

Lola-I don't know how I'm going to approach the sex before marriage thing either. I don't want to lie to my kids, but I also want them to wait till marriage. God knows I sure wish I did!!! Maybe we can just tell them about our mistakes and hope they learn from them? That's the part I'm dreading the most!!! I don't recall my parents (my Mom) talking to me about sex until I was already doing it. I do want my kids to tell me their feelings and come to me with questions/advice. I guess just do what we think is right as far as that goes and pray that they listen to us!

Jane! Glad to see you back love. Hope you're feeling good ready to tackle this TTC business, FX you get a sticky blue bean very soon.
Interesting Q Lola! I was raised by wolves so clearly no sex talk for me  I saw more than I needed to see of my mom's bad choices so I figured out pretty quickly that sex out of wedlock was not going to get me anywhere I wanted to go. I think you're right to want an open enough relationship that even if they know their choice isn't what you would choose for them, they feel comfortable talking to you about it. I think that is the ideal parent/child relationship. How to get there is the challenge
OH and ITA the heat is contributing to the sleepy feeling. Flava did you have EWCM when you swayed for DD4? Just curious to know if you were able to achieve it then.
Read a review on "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother" but haven't read the book; I think it would be interesting. From what I've heard though reading the actual book shows you that she isn't as crazy as some of the excerpts make her out to be. I might pick it up.
My girls haven't asked about where the baby comes out or any of the period stuff yet ... but when they do I'm with you Jen, give them an honest answer that is verrrrry basic. DD1 did ask me about boobs though  She said she doesn't want any. I told her that with our genetics she probably won't have too much to worry about, LOL!
Oh and Lola I sometimes got nauseated around my O day; maybe the extra sensitivity is due to that? Or you're pg  I was 5 dpo when I started feeling sick with this one so sure 1 dpo is early ... but I'm keeping my FX!!!!

Lola - I love how open you are with your girls but agree it's not for everyone. I answer questions as they come up but that's about it, gotta remedy that as dd1 has the maturation program at school and I don't want her to learn anything there if you kwim. My mom was always open about sex but never mentioned when to have it lol She more pushed be safe then don't do it, we never talked about her having sex till I was in my 20's. I'll tell my girls when/if they ask about me, I won't offer it up but if they ask I'll stick to my policy of honesty. I'm hoping dh pushing wait till marriage will sink in to some level though lol I plan to push make it special, don't let anyone talk you into to anything, be safe blah, blah, blah. I too want my girls come to me, I'd rather buy them b/c then be a grandma or find out they have something horrible.
1dpo!! woohoo, come on baby!
B- my girls have asked about boobs too, dd1 wants em bad lol She's quite frustrated that there is no specific date on this boobs/period thing. I hate that girls are getting it at 10/11, scares the sh*t out of me. dh and I joke it's a great reason to keep our girls lean.
Fyi for those that not familiar dd won't get her period till she has enough body fat to sustain a pregnancy. Girls are getting fatter and fatter therefor causing af earlier and earlier which has triggered boys to mature earlier and earlier as well. In area's of high childhood obesity both boys and girls are reaching puberty at alarmingly early ages. It's not the hormones in milk or meat like is commonly thought. I'm not saying starve your daughters but if they maintains a healthy weight development will occur a little later on when she's better capable to deal with it. Whew off my soapbox lol
Cemas- wow that sucks, do you always O so late? I know you're smart and stalking that egg but is there any chance you missed it?
Today is dd2's VIP in school. We made a poster about her, I get to go into class to talk about how special she is and bring a treat. I love and hate these days, how do you tell 6 yo why your kid is extra great lol
Hobbermittens
August 26th, 2011, 02:29 PM
I think it is great you are so open with your kids! My daughter asked me how the baby got into my tummy when I was pregnant with DD2. SHe was almost 6 at the time, so I told her--all of it. She made a face, and said, "I am NEVER doing that. It's GROSS!" Ha, I will remind her she said that she is a mother!

Cemas, I made a thread on the infertility forum that you can post depressing stuff in, it's kinda for that..."TTC Over a Year Thread." But I know how you feel. I think you need to get on Clomid, Cemas! Have you taken that before? I know you've taken fert meds before when you cycled. You need something to jump start your ov, girl.
Hobber, LOL at your DD's reaction to the "everything" talk! I'm gathering you told her about the weiner in the tootie, too!
Light, thank you so much, you are so sweet! I appreciate your prayers, hun. How are you doing?
3PNB, I totally agree....most people think the early periods is because of hormones in animal products (which is not a good thing anyway) but you are exactly right about the increase in childhood obesity leading to earlier periods. I tend to think there might be a correlation as well, because a lot of the obese kids are eating a ton of McD's and such with crap meat full of growth hormone. Another excellent reason to feed your children well! Could you even imagine a 12 year old with a child? One of my gf here is a teacher and she has 2 girls in her freshman class that have 2 YEAR OLDS and one is pg again!!!! They are 14! I know it's happening at 10 and 11 in some cases even. SCARY. Totally scary.
