It's a real thing! Haha that's what lots of sights call it. It's mostly when you're in the 3rd trimester and it usually is really painful.
In other news- I feel nauseated.... Really nauseated. I'm telling yall, if AF shows I will be so shocked but that's how tww works. Always plays games w our hearts.

I had plenty of BFN cycles like that [emoji20]. My BFP cycle has zero classic symptoms. I only had extreme forgetfulness that I chalked up to stress.
FX for you!! At least these symptoms mean great progesterone production, which mean BFP now or in the near future!!!

I understand that. GL if you do decide to test!! Ii am honestly not expecting a BFP tomorrow. 1: because I have next to no symptoms and 2: because if implantation was yesterday as I suspect it might have been (assuming it occurred at all) it'd be too soon for a BFP. So, I'll prob just OPK test in the AM if I decide to test at all.

Morning all! Well temp went up slightly but hpt is still not quite a positive. I'll post a pic with a super dooper squinter alert lol. Once again I'm not sure if I'm seeing things because I want to I just thought at 11dpo I'd have an answer. Felt some cramping yesterday/last night - not quite af cramps but close. So I'm holding onto the hope that I've implanted really late and maybe I'll get a bfp tomorrow at 12dpo. I do have to say I'm actually beginning to think I'm out this month which is so confusing after being so sure this was it. Anyway looking forward to some updates from everyone! Twointow, Netti and Lauren fx for you all!!! I think you're the next three testing. Am I missing anyone? Yes I did mommymachine but surely at 11dpo I'd have something more noticeable :( well af is due Monday morning on the dot although last cycle my lt dropped to 12 days so could even be Sunday. I've been off the diet since o day so when af comes I think I'll start a thread asking if I should skip a cycle to go back on diet so I've got another 5/6 weeks back on it.

Well darn! I wouldn't say you're out quite yet but I totally get getting your mind set. I do know with DS1 it was a super squinted and 12 dpo so who knows.
I'm 2 dpo. I am trying really hard not to symptom spot but it's already so hard. Last month I just knew was my month. I had every symptom in the book and got bfn!!! I will most likely wait until I miss my period to test. I can't take the disappointment!haha I will ATLESST wait until 12dpo. ;)

I'm kinda bummed. Last month the first couple of days after ovulation my clear CM continued (which I was happy about!) well I wanted this month to be different so I've been glad NOT to see it. Just went to bathroom and I had that same clear CM. :(

Boysboys have you noticed lack of clear cm with previous pregnancies and is that why you're bummed? I didn't think cm after o meant much tbh. fx for you especially as you've got another 10 days of symptom spotting! Sending positive thoughts and baby dust your way!!

Pbn- hugs! I'm sorry. Not the most sage advice, but it helps see squinters a bit easier... Let the test dry. If once dry it HAS COLOR it's not an evap and you weren't seeing things lol.
Boys- CM a couple DPO is irrelevant to preg outcome! CM after implantation barely tells you anything... and even then it tells you absolutely nothing most of the time, so CM before implantation time frame has zero impact or zero info to offer you. HTH.

Even with my history I have to wait until 8 weeks.... which means I'll be a stressed out jittery mess for a month but it's "policy". Even then I'll only see the nurse practitioner, not the doc, and get an u/s. Won't get to see my doc until 12 weeks. So I'll be seeing my OB and my high risk specialist the same week... SMH, lol.

We don't get US until 8 weeks so no need to go until then. Not being high risk my insurance only pays for two ultrasounds! One at 8 and anatomy scan at 20!!!! Stinks so badly. My doctor (who moved:( ) would sneak me a couple more so if we do get Preggo I won't have that luxury anymore. Yuck.

That is one of the VERY few "perks" to being high risk. My ins. gets to bite it on their limitations with u/s... including paying for a 3D anatomy scan at 20 weeks. At least they did with my youngest... after I already paid for one out of pocket because I didn't know. I'll likely get two again this time. I'll get one with my specialist and my OB has this program that if you use their online system (trying to get more ppl to use it) to request an appt for it, instead of calling to do so, the 3D/4D u/s is free. There is a catch though... u/s scare me (both losses discovered via u/s with no other sign there was a problem) and get me excited all at the same time lol. So, after the HB is found each time it feels like a blessing to have extra peeks at our bean but until then I tend to be a nervous wreck as I wait for it to be found.

BW not an issue for me... the only thing to ever come from BW was my prog was low with our angel DD. My numbers double pretty good though so... Though the chromosome testing might make me nervous this time, knowing we have had a baby with chromosome abnormalities. But at least I'll have finding out the gender to look forward to :)

Not sure what it means, if anything but... I tested last night... not 100% on why but I did. I knew there would probably be no line but I guess that is why I did it. To make sure there was no chance that this mornings test would end up being lighter than last night's, I get all excited see a line or something and then get let down... Anyway, I got the itch to test again tonight and decided to go fo it to compare it to last night's test since I didn't have AM tests to compare :giggle: and....

There is always the possibility it is just a normal flux of hormones but it feels good to see that tonight's test is darker than last night's test. So much for not being a POAS addict this cycle :giggle: Oh well, will power is overrated lol.

In the grand scheme, just something to toy with until your levels are high enough for HPT to pick up, because if using an opk as an HPT same rules apply... to be + test line has to be as dark or darker than the control line to be positive and you'll get a HPT BFP before a + OPK. But here is the rundown of how it works...
LH and HCG are essentially twins, but HCG has a "nose job". OPK's test for the twin, HPT tests for the nose job. SO, OPKs will pick up on HCG as well as LH. HPT will ONLY pick up on HCG. The idea is that if your OPKs get progressively darker each day it's a good sign that HCG is building, even though you may not be able to get anything on an HPT. It is NOT a replacement for HPTs but can possibly give you an idea of what is going on. Heres a pic of OPKs and HPTs to show you what I mean(I did this when I got preg with my DD... *Important note* just because your OPKs aren't getting darker doesn't mean you are out... some test are just less sensitive than others!*

I think implantation was just yesterday (if at all) so I think it may be too early for an HPT. I might... but I don't know. It'll depend on my mood in the AM I suppose lol.

Like I said, OPKs not getting darker does NOT mean you are out. It's one of those things that can add a potential sign but just like nausea or any other preg sign just because it's not there doesn't mean your not preg, and just because it is doesn't mean you are. It's more for fun than diagnostic. So don't panic! And definitely don't put all your eggs in an opk basket!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. 3 of my 4 pregs (that lasted longer than a few days) I had NO clue I was preg. My first preg my first sign was the day of my BFP when I woke up and got sick over and over for hours until DH took me to ER where I found out I was pregnant. My second preg, the closest thing I had to a sign was gas but I didn't think twice about it, just blamed what I was eating... could have knocked me over with a feather when I got that BFP. And even my third my only sign was cramps and lack of my usual pre-af kidney-ache. I thought I was out every single time. Gut feelings don't always tell the real story :)

So tell me did you test this morning???

hi Twointow I can't check the dry test as is in my ensuite bin and I don't want to risk waking up ds2. The photo you looked at was taken after maybe 5 mins?? I went back to it a few times over the afternoon and thought I could still see, just not as much as when I initially did test. It's almost bed time anyway so I'll have an answer soon enough!

Yep. HPT was white as far as I could tell. I have to wait for the OPK to dry before I can compare it to yesterday's test. I thought I saw the slightest hint of a line on the HPT for about 5 secs but I think it was just wishful thinking because I don't see it now.

Probably, but honestly I'm not expecting to see anything until at least 11 DPO. Have a headache this morning though, and even this cycle, with all the headaches I've had, I generally don't get them first thing in the AM. Going to take some tylenol and see if it makes it go away. Tylenol doesn't touch preg headaches for me so if I still have it after taking tylenol I'll count it as a good sign... even though I don't think a headache is technically a good thing lol.

AFM - I'm starting to get worried. I might have jumped to soon adding myself to the due date club and posting my sway attempt. My temp is falling and this morning's wondfo test isn't any darker than Wed night's. I'm going to use another FRER tomorrow morning and hope it's much darker than the test I took on Tuesday morning. Cross those fingers extra tight for me!

Nevermind about the cramps that I posted about. I've figured it out. (for those confused about what cramps I am talking about the post was here but deleted it and typed this :) )
On a more semi-positive note, I took the tylenol and my headache calmed for a few mins... had about 15-20 mins of relief, but it came ROARING back. It's unusual for tylenol to work at all if this headache is a preg sign, but maybe because it's only a couple days past implantation (assuming it happened the day I think.. or at all), maybe that is why the tylenol helped. I really don't know. All I know is my head is driving me nuts and I can't take anything for it, so I am  it's a sign and not a red herring.

I think I might be out :( I am having HORRIBLE AF-type cramps... Nothing like the AF type cramps I've had and still been preg before. TMI, and I never thought I'd say this, but I HOPE my IBS is acting up (my IBS cramps can feel remarkably similar to AF cramps sometimes).
On a more semi-positive note, I took the tylenol and my headache calmed for a few mins... had about 15-20 mins of relief, but it came ROARING back. Hard to answer that. I usually start getting AF cramps 2-3 days before and my norm LP is 12 days... but I'm not 100% on the length of my LP on clomid. First cycle on clomid (years ago) I didn't chart that cycle. Second cycle (years ago) O date was questionable. This years clomid rounds I had a chem last cycle which delayed AF and the is only my second cycle this go around.
However, I am getting nauseas now which means it's more than likely my tummy issues acting up. Bad for me, but good news cycle-wise.

During AF, just like everything else is your call. Oral is the easiest, vag is the most accurate. As far as AF... it will have no affect if you temp orally. BUT vag temping could get messy. If you are a LIGHT bleeder you might be able to but I'd recommend buying the therm covers (they are super cheap). Personally, I temp vaginally and am NOT a light bleeder so I wait until after AF and use the covers if I'm spotting. Just make sure you keep your therm clean if you temp vaginally. It really isn't hard. I either use that "toy cleaner" stuff they sell if I have it  or I clean it with alcohol and keep it in its plastic case.

Well crap. Sorry Lauren :(
I think temping is a good idea. It will give you a better idea of what is going on with your cycles. I temp orally and I don't always temp through AF but its only because I have a pretty good idea of what my cycles look like at this point. I have definitely read that temping vaginally gives more accurate results.
Normally you want to take it after at least a few hours of solid sleep. If you get up to pee in the night, I would still just temp at your normal wake up time. Try to take it at the same time every day but don't stress if you can't, it should still be pretty close. DS still wakes up in the night so my sleep is not consistent at all but I can still tell when I O based on my temps.

If it's very close to when you'd normally temp (like within an hour) go ahead and temp. I've found that an hour doesn't make a huge difference.. maybe a couple hundredths of a degree, if that... for me at least. If it's longer and you don't think you'll be able to get back to sleep- temp and make a note of it so you can "disturb" it later if you need to because it's messing up your chart (or you can alter the temp... not my preference, but your chart= your call). If it's longer than an hour and you have no reason to believe you won't get back to sleep then wait to temp. Getting up to pee in and of itself isn't going to have a big impact temp wise unless you live in a mansion and have to way a ways to get to the restroom because you'll be half asleep so it's not like you'll be doing cartwheels or jumping jacks, lol. The issue comes in if you can't get back to sleep. So, if you don't normally have issues getting back to sleep and it's more than an hour from temp time wait to temp. If it's less than and hour you may not be able to get fully back to sleep before temp time (unless you're like my hubby who can fall asleep standing up lol... if you are then wait to temp if you'd like lol. Personally, it takes me a bit to get back to sleep).

I'd stick with +OPK until you chart a few cycles and know how long after +OPK you normally O (hopefully you won't have to chart long though). Your chart won't really "pick" a day. That is something that comes from you learning your patterns. Over time FF will start to point out patterns like a line of green squares in the time frame you normally O, and give you statistical info, but the picking is all you. I can't speak for the others but I don't mind answering questions :)

How it works here is as soon as we get a pos hpt our family doc (GP) will order blood work. We don't get any prenatal appointments until 9 or 10 weeks. Im not sure when we can start going to midwives (which I'll be doing from the start), but if you chose to go to an Ob you go really late... Like 28 weeks! Up il then your GP looks after you

I don't have a good feeling. Lots of brown spotting, AF cramps. The only thing keeping me hopeful is my temp this morning.
Same thing happened to me and I thought I was out despite my temps. My temps have looked promising before to only let me down. It wasn't until my acupuncturist asked if I was experiencing any symptoms did I even consider testing.
You're not out yet!! FX!!

Well, the RE's office just called. My hcg went up but only to 141. The nurse said it isn't looking good and I'll probably have a miscarriage. The doubling time decreased a lot. It's 77 hours, instead of the 35 hours it was between the first 2 levels. Ugh.... Now my sister is messaging me asking me what the doctor said. I just don't want to tell her. I don't know what to say to her. I am just going to go cry for a while and maybe I'll figure out what to say to her.
So sorry momamia. Just not fair :( ((((hugs))) do what you need to for you right now. Turn your phone off of you have to. ((((More hugs))))

Up il then your GP looks after you
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I wish that was the case here. Maybe I'll try calling my GP just to see if they'll do a blood test. I'm not really interested in having to go to an appointment with the midwife if I don't have to just for the sake of getting my blood drawn.

Come morning(my time), I'll be 10 DPO. Haven't been too sure about this cycle. My CM was a bit too creamy for my liking on attempt day. So part of me has been hoping, but a big part didn't expect anything to come of this cycle... think I might be changing my mind though... You know about the headache, which is still present btw. But I have also been mind numbingly tired today. I thought it was because I didn't get a full night's sleep last night. So I took a nap before the boys got home from school, slept for a good 2 hours and not sure if it's even possible but I am actually more tired now than I was before my nap

Yeah. It's weird! I don't know if it's an age thing or what but with all my boy pregs (first 3) had no obvious symptoms pre-BFP-day. But my DD, chem and so far this one (assuming I get a BFP) have all had obvious and identical symptoms. Since the last 2 were losses I don't know if it's a good thing or not, but since the only one that made it more than a few days was a DD I am hoping these are my girl preg symptoms lol. So far the only symptom I am missing that I had with DD and chem (boy pregs were too far back to remember exactly when it started... I know it did just not sure when) is the wet undies. TMI but it feels more moist down there but so far my undies are dry. I am praying if I get a BFP that I get to keep this one... so tired of the sadness of loss. I'm ready for some happy gain (of a chubby roll of powder fresh smelling sweetness) :)

A week is a long time and a lot can change in that time! Don't throw in the towel already ;)
As for strength, thanks for the thought but strong is something I am not when it comes to loss, or even the fear of loss. In fact I never feel weaker, more helpless or more broken than when I think of my losses or go through them. I think many who have had losses may concur with that, though I can't speak for them. Thank you for the thought though. It was very sweet.

Thanks ladies! I hope the nurse is just jumping to conclusions but only time will tell. I definitely feel pregnant. The most frustrating thing is that I don't have anything to compare this experience to (as far as the hcg levels). I'm hoping that it's just what my body usually does when I'm pregnant. I don't usually get a positive pregnancy test until later but this time I got one before I missed my period. I am praying that's a good sign. I was able to shut my sister up by telling her I didn't want to talk about it right now. Surprisingly, that worked!

So, I broke down and bought an early test, but not FRER. It's a blue dye test (boo!) but that was my only options- FRER or one of the blue dye tests. I got the generic because I spent way too much on preg tests last cycle so decided to go cheap this cycle. Gonna take one in the AM. Does anyone know how reliable/sensitive (actually, not the posted sensitivity) of the equate brand blue dye early tests are?

That sticky bean is probably taking its sweet time growing momamia. Is it nurses that handover the results? Are u in the US?
In Australia only a doctor can report blood work and comment on it so that's a bit surprising to me. I am a nurse and i wouldn't dream of handing over any opinion re: bloodwork. I would just ignore the nurse. I have to say some think they have a medical degree it irks me allll the time

In the US, for the most part, the docs have to review the results and determine their meaning but the nurses make the calls. Sometimes, with small things, the nurse can just call with results though... it varies office to office what is considered "small" though.

Some doc offices are like that, I have gone to some. And if it's something serious most won't give out the info over the phone (in my experience) but if it's nothing serious (like telling you you have cancer or something) they will call the majority of the time. I don't know about over there but over here medical care is too expensive to have an office visit just to be told everything is fine lol. People would throw a fit having to pay $100+ to be told everything is ok.

Oh, I get it! The struggle is REAL :giggle: I finally figured out what you and Pbn are talking about when you say "chemist" lol. Here a chemist is a person who works with chemistry/chemicals (like the companies that MAKE the meds). But I think YOU mean what we call a pharmacy :giggle: Feeling a little dense that it took me so long to figure out, lol. I just kept thinking... Thanks, netti! Yes, I am in the US and this particular office has the nurses call patients with bloodwork results. Normally, the doctors have you schedule an appointment to come in and discuss the results. So I'm a little annoyed that my doctor is opting for the "hands off" approach. I feel the same way about the nurse. My grandma was a nurse and some of my cousins are nurses and they would never dream of attempting to give a diagnosis like this lady. I'm trying to keep my hopes up. :)
Two, I used that test this cycle and it showed a positive for me the same day as the frer that had a clear line. I think that was 12dpo.

Help. I've never temped.

Well, it's prob an evap because there is nothing on my IC and I KNOW those are pretty sensitive, but as you all know I have a tendency of looking at tests beyond time frame. Thought I might have saw something a few hours ago, looked at it again an I swear I can see the faintest hint of a line. Too light to tell if there is color or not though so I'm calling it an evap. The only thing that I am nervous about Two is that these are blue dye test...maybe just guard your heart a little bit and pray for the best!
Remember blue dye tests take longer to show. That is all I had when I couldn't get a positive to save my life with my DS2! Seriously, I had bought a ton because they were on sale! I would have jumped up and down to have gotten one to look like that back then!
Try again with another brand tomorrow with FMU.....PLEASE [emoji6]!!
[emoji170][emoji577][emoji843][emoji602][emoji170]
Here is my issue though... to avoid FRER I have to get a blue dye to get an early test. I have options on non-early tests but early result tests are all blue except FRER :(

Been to 4 stores today. All the same. I may have to buy a FRER to get a pink dye early test but with all the trouble, I don't know if it's worth it....

Broke down and bought FRER after store #5 was same as first 4. Not going to trust a squinter though. To many have gotten squinters and it was false.

Off to do an afternoon. Will get me closer to testing tmro FMU with a FR. CM is back to looking a little strange and possibly pregnancy looking and Cervix is very firm.

Hi everyone just a quick question. I had a look and cant seem to find the thread I was looking for. I thought I remembered seeing something about soy once but can't remember what it was. I'm back on le diet as of today but trying to find some different foods to eat. Can anyone remember if soy is a yes or no on le diet? Was thinking of getting some soy burgers etc but have this nagging feeling I read something about it???

Hi girls just wanted to pop in and ask a question if that's ok. This is my first attempt, last two months off BCP I have ovulated on CD 30. This month I am only on CD 11 and FF has given me dotted crosshairs for CD 8!! I have been sick the last couple of days which is why I thought the really high temp (no fever though). Anyways this morning I woke at 4am to go to toilet and couldn't get back to sleep so thought I would take temp then which was 36.1 I did end up drifting back off and took my temp at the usual time of 6am and it was 36.43. Which temp would you go with?? Oh and I have been taking vitex for the last 7 weeks but don't believe that would make me O this early?! I didn't note any fertile CM.
I guess the next few days will tell the story but just wanted some input from you lovely ladies
TIA

hi mammacass I would ignore the crosshairs until you've had a few more days temping. You'll likely drop below its current coverline or start a second temp range trend iykwim. I would find it extremely unlikely you oed that early especially given you o normally way later. Sorry its not much help but neither is stress so I would say see what happens over next few days :) Are you using opks? I understand you wouldn't have started yet going by prior cycles but maybe start if you can get your hands on a heap of cheapies??
mammacass
August 23rd, 2015, 04:12 AM
Thankyou Pbn3, I also think it's unlikely but given its first attempt I am a little nervous and you know best laid plans and all ha ha if I did in fact O we have a 1 attempt 3 days before so not all bad but I really don't think it is a true O. I tried using OPKs for the first time ever last cycle, I bought a pack of 20 but started too early expecting my O to come much earlier and ran out of tests before I ever saw a positive. I'm not at all confident using them so have opted for the every 4 days route.

I know right it dragged on for so long!! I think it's because I have come off of BCP, my first cycle off I only had a 5 day LP (which freaked me out) so a 35 and the last was 43 days with LP of 13. Unsure what's really normal for me as I had always had irregular cycles and went on pill long term. I came off after about 12yrs to conceive first Bub. My last preg my O day was CD18.

I'm thinking the same thing. Waiting for OPK to see what it says. If it's at least as dark as yesterday I'll consider the possibility the my hormones just haven't doubled yet since yesterday. If BFNs tomorrow I'm going to prepare to move on to next cycle. I've never had to wait until 12 DPO for a BFP because my hormones multiply so rapidly, so if BFN tomorrow I'm going to wait for AF. Kinda not seeing it happening anyway. I was only really tired that one day, CM is wrong(instead of wet spots getting white spots) and been getting headaches all cycle so not putting all my eggs in that basket as far as symptoms. Might still get a BFP, holding out for tomorrow, but not holding out a lot of hope.

If you did O, I disagree with FF and think it should be a day later. If you O'd, it's possible it is a fallback rise. But I agree with Pbn... prob best to see what your next couple temps add to the picture.

How long were you awake before taking the 4 am temp? Did you get back to sleep for at least one hour before the 6 am temp? Do you temp orally or vaginally? If orally, did you have anything to eat, drink, etc. before taking either temp?

I'd use the 4 am temp but make a note of your 6 am temp, just in case. But I hesitate to recommend using a temp based off less than an hour of sleep... even if you come to find out it does fit better with your pattern. But that is ultimately your call :)

Just seen your pic two and its as dark as previous day maybe slightly darker! Hope this means good things for over next couple days!! Did you say you weren't testing anymore (hpts) unless af doesn't show? Or will you test again at 12dpo? If I don't post again tonight I'll catch up in morning - 2 very bad nights sleep has caught up with me :)

Pretty much just ignore your temps from 1DPO to 5DPO. The only purpose they serve is O confirmation and mean nothing as far as preg odds. Your temps keep rising because your prog levels increase your temp as your levels increase. Some cycles you'll have a steady climb, others you'll just have one big jump. After 6 DPO you may, or may not, see your temp continue to rise. This is a good sign BUT does not guarantee preg and LACK of a continued rise doesn't mean you aren't. Just wanted to throw that out there, lol ;) Just don't want you to panic if your temps level out or even drop a bit. :fx: for you!! When do you plan to start testing??
