Hi Ladies, my time has finally arrived. I am on CD5 today. Been on the LE Diet for 21 weeks, but this is my first attempt at trying. Nervous as hell, but a little excited too. Anyone with any extra pink dust, please send it my way.
I have been following everyone's journeys so far and for those of you that have been unsuccessful, here's hoping that October brings everyone some happy news and that you are each blessed with a positive test and even better, would be your preferred gender :)
For those of you that are pregnant, A Massive Congratulations :)

I saw in the other post you were asking about timing / frequency. I conceived both my boys from BD every other day. DH didn't like to be put under too much pressure so thats what we did to increase chances of conception but not go overboard (unaware it was so blue friendly at the time!)

I really need to get pregnant and off the HE diet. I've always been thin/average and a runner but since starting this in July, I've gained 10 pounds, plus I was still 5 pounds heavier from my last pregnancy. My dh describes me as soft, I just feel gross and my clothes don't fit. I do weights/cardio 4-5 times a week and yoga poses too. I also try to take 6000 or more steps but I'm still flabby and gross. I want to go back to me LE ways (although I cheated a lot so I was a moderate LE girl. I just made up for it with exercise). Do you ladies hate LE? It's funny because I think it's just the general way you eat and we don't have to be a strict as we are. I feel like on the boards all the girl swayers are losing s ton of weight and boy swayers are getting chubby when that's not what it's like in real life. Not all girl moms are thin and not all boy moms are fat, in fact I always think of boy moms as athletic looking. Weird. This is on my mind because I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and whoa!!!! [emoji15] I had secondary infertility last time so really hoping that's not the case with this one!

Thanks. You know I swayed with my last dd and quit after it was taking so long. I went right back to my old ways but I think if I had kept a little bit of the sway factors going I would have been fine. When I had my girls, I ate breakfast and snacked all day but it was smaller meals and they weren't always nutritious. I would really eat every hour or two. I think small things like that can help sway girl.

Good evening ladies (or morning, or afternoon lol)Welcome to everyone, nice to see you here pink pony! We were on the waiting to ttc thread together :)
So had a bit of a bad day today. Really upset by the fact my AF came so early this month, mind of feel it was a non attempt even though we had attempts when it mattered. My only friend who knows I am swaying was over for coffee earlier she has a PP and we initially met up with two other mommy friends who also have PPs and they were all talking about girl stuff and nail painting and Frozen parties and I just could have cried. I did cry later when the other mommy friends were gone and the friend who knows I am swaying was there. I just feel it's something I want too much and will never have, how could I be that lucky!
Any who,she went off home later and said shouldn't stop thinking of me so she asked her mom who is a medium to do a card reading for me. She pulled 5 cards and WOW was it crazy to hear what she said. Firstly she said that October will not be my month either so to prepare myself but that she sees my cycles have shortened so less of a wait til November when she says I will conceive. I will have an August 2016 due date, she said she thinks I will be due around my dad's birthday. She doesn't know me, or my parents, neither does my friend so neither of them knew my dad's birthday is August 1st. She said I will deliver early, possibly mid July. And it will be my daughter who is waiting for me,she used the words "your daughter has chosen you so be patient". She said my pregnancy will be unlike my first two. I will be under quite a bit of stress but it's work related (could be true, I wasn't working at all when pg with my boys) She said her cards showed her that my new job is a gateway to success. She also said that my third child isn't my final child as DH and I have discussed. She says I will either have girl/boy twins or I will have a fourth child who will be a boy. I know to take it all with a large pinch of salt but the whole due date thing made me kinda sit up and take notice. She wouldn't have a clue of my dad's birthday. She's a quite well known medium, I have heard she has never gotten the gender of a baby wrong. Recently she told my friend (her DD) to be sure she was being safe cause she saw a baby in the family. She said it kept coming up and a few weeks later her niece announced her pregnancy. She told the niece she would have a girl, the niece was sceptical as she was having an identical pregnancy to her first which was a boy. Was confirmed last week she's due a girl in February! Would love her to be right for me!
Anyways will continue with my sway. Took it easy with cardio the past fortnight so back to it now Sunday evening. Have a hugely stressful work week next week but hoping I can keep my stress and anxiety levels as lows possible. Have a girls weekend away next weekend too so surely evaporating cheats then so will try to stay good for the week (bought a size 6 UK dress so need to make sure I fit into it lol!!) I've always been a size 10-12 so this is crazy to me lol.

Hi mammacass! Any idea when you expect to o?
I've just very surprisingly had some ewcm more than I can remember seeing for months! Giving ne that little bit more hope that maybe just maybe this might be my cycle!! Going to do afternoon opk test as my smiley was still flashing this morning just incase it changes to solid lol :) Nearly had an attempt last night but thankfully the girls in Sep 2ww helped me shelve it. Only downside is dh hadn't released since Tuesday so I asked him to this morning thinking he'll have enough supply back by tomorrow night so if I do get a pos opk this arvy then I don't know that he'll have enough swimmers in the bank tonight :( there always seems to be something that goes wrong lol

Yeah I feel down about having to wait so long but what can u do. I did take vitex but didn't help move it forward any, I have read it takes a while to work, and given that we only take it AF-O I imagine that makes it take even longer? DS1 is a clomid baby after having a 200+ day cycle.
I took soy again this cycle which didn't help that much last time at I still o'd cd30 but it's worth another try.
Ok, so I bought some shop opks... you can see how crap the ebay ones are as I tested the same time. I don't know if I missed my surge as my cheapies were slightly darker before or if its still coming.
The line looks beter irl, the photo makes it more faded (on the good test)

Purple do you temp? I just started temping this cycle because I NEVER get a positive opk
So we are out of town with my parents and dh and I attempted to dtd but he couldn't finish. He says its because we did it the last 3 days. It was super awkward trying to do it on the floor and be super quiet so no one heard!! I think that had more to do with it. I had a temp shift up, does that mean if it keeps going up for two more days I O'd yesterday or last night? I had major cramping yesterday so I'm hoping that's it. If it is we did 0-2, 0-1, and 0. I'm okay with those even though I really wanted this morning's attempt to work! Grrr

Are you using fertility friend to chart? If this temp was higher than 6 of your temps before today, and stays elevated for 2 days, I think it's safe to assume you Ovulated!!! I sometimes have random temp jumps but they immediately come down when it's not due to ovulation. Those are 3 really good attempts!!! Maybe try to get one in today?

I had a temp shift up, does that mean if it keeps going up for two more days I O'd yesterday or last night? I had major cramping yesterday so I'm hoping that's it. If it is we did 0-2, 0-1, and 0. I'm okay with those even though I really wanted this morning's attempt to work! Grrr

I'm not, I am still pre-O this cycle. CD6. I usually conceive right away. DD1 took 5 months but because I wasn't ovulating, as soon as I ovulated I got pregnant with her. So this is new for me, but I'm thinking it is still because of my MC in July. What about you?

I'm expecting to get +opk any day now. LE diet has made my cycles little longer than usually. I was sure I would O on full moon. It's tomorrow and it's going to be supermoon lunar eclipse lol. Hoping to see a normal post o temp tomorrow morning otherwise I could possibly o tomorrow and end up with a o-2 attempt instead of day b4 which I'm fine with - used a fair bit of sperm safe lube lol. Only time will tell. I'm also monitoring cm and cp/texture to help pinpoint. My opk this morning was super super dark so fx it means I'll o today :)

I'm always the last one to ovulate!lol If everything stays on track I will be ovulating weekend of oct 10th.
This will be our 4th month TTC which is freaking me out bc both DS were conceived very quickly. My plan is to have DH build up for about 4-5 days and make our first attempt the night of positive OPK and the next day. Also will be using preseed.
Hopefully this is a big BFP month! Honestly last month was very few and far between so I feel like this month is going to be a baby boom! Praying for you girls! At this point I'll take all of your pink or blue dust! I just want a baby!!! :)

Hi, ladies! Oh my gosh, I'm so happy to have found this thread! It's hard to be ttc and have no one to talk to about how frustrating it is.
My AF arrived on Saturday morning, so now we're onto our third month. I've been on the LE diet for 13 weeks at this point, and I should ovulate right around Oct. 8 or so. We got pregnant with our son by accident, and it's very, very different to be using opks and temping and checking my cervix and obsessing. I have to remind myself that it's normal for it to take a bit and not to panic, but it's hard. I'm 36 and my husband is 39, so I do worry a bit about our age. When I mentioned that to my midwife at my annual in July, she told me the practice currently had TWO women who were pregnant at age 51(!!!), so I shouldn't worry. It's hard not to, though!
Anyway, thanks for being here, and here's hoping we all get our BFP this month! Properly color coded dust to everyone! :cheer:
Also, I HATE the 2ww. It's WAY worse than waiting to O.

The 2ww is sooo long. Ff is saying I O'd a day earlier than I think I did and telling me to test two days earlier than af should come. Now it's just getting my hopes up!!
I have such a negative mindset that I'll never get pregnant because last time took a year and Dh won't try that long this time. It's so stressful. Especially because I was pregnant quickly twice and then couldn't get pregnant for no reason, we were both normal. At least people swaying girl have a reason to take a long time. You only have one attempt and I've been having 3-4 a cycle! I'm only 2dpo. I need to stay positive!!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Quinn those are great chances! O-2 and O-1 have the highest chance of pregnancy, not O day! The egg lives 24 hours max, but probably more like 12 hours when you're not in your twenties, and it takes the sperm several hours to make it to the fallopian tube and egg so it's more likely that an O day BD is too late as the egg would be dead before the sperm even reach it! Sperm on the other hand can live up to 5 days in fertile cm and you want there to be enough time for the sperm to make it to the fallopian tube and be waiting for the egg. They can easily wait there for a few days! The egg has a much shorter lifespan than sperm so don't worry about it. Good luck!

I often wonder that too magical. I dont watch the show but just out of my observations ive seen what you mean.
It must be other elements to it. My sister was on the plus side when she had her girls but i recall she doesn't eat breakfast (i always have) so there must be other things to de-conditioning. Ive found it extremely hard to skip breakfast and stick to LE as im such a snacker particularly on night shift. So those are some of the things im working on this month and also not jumping the gun as soon as i get a line on the opk. I neeeèeeed to wait til it gets darker lol

I'm not too keen on June/July either. My main thing I don't like is them having to wait so long to start school.. also I don't like the idea of getting up to feed a baby in winter but figure I would probably just co-sleep for the first few months anyway.
I'm not sure if today's slight temp change is just from me not sleeping well. If I put in higher temps tomorrow and the next day it looks like the cross hairs will move to CD 15 meaning my attempt is O-2 so not that great but better than the day after O like it says now.
If I O'd late on cd14 is it possible not to have at a temp increase because I woke up at 2am and temped too early?

The LE diet is meant to aid with decreasing maternal condition. So if someone is super fit, doing the LE diet and cardio helps to decrease muscle mass and trick your body that times are tough.
Overweight/obese people already experience a decrease in maternal condition which can also sway girl.
Someone doesn't have to lose weight to get a girl it is more about having your body think times are tough to allow an XX embryo to thrive. This can be done in different ways.

Typically not before around 7-8 dpo. A test won't turn positive until the embryo has implanted and started signaling the body to make hcg. The egg takes a few days to travel into the uterus and get implanted in the uterine wall. Then, the hcg has to build up to a level that is detectable, which for some women can take until 15+ dpo.

Implantation occurs on average between 6-10 DPO. HCG needs to build up for at least two days before it is detected on an HPT.
I would say 8-10 DPO the earliest. Most get one between 10-13 DPO

I know I've told you ladies before but I had gained a couple pounds when I got pregnant with both my girls and I cheated a lot with diet. Overall I was LE though. I only did cardio and I never ate breakfast. I would sometimes snack on foods with no nutritious value. I was much better during the week and weekends were kind of whatever goes.
I'm not in love with a June/July date because my girls were born in those months. I'm also off work already since I work in a school so it's not a great maternity leave.

I'm looking forward to a June/July baby (fingers crossed). My birthday is in July, and I've always loved having a summer birthday. My son's birthday is at the end of January, so I can relate that it's no fun being super pregnant in the dead of winter, trying to wedge my bloated pregnant legs into my boots every day and having to piece together outfits and make sure every layer fit. And trying not to fall on my butt on the ice. I look forward to just being able to slide some sandals on my feet, no bending over required, and throwing on a sundress.
Pretty much all of my friends have girls, so I was shocked when I had a boy, but I have always been a dedicated breakfast eater, even though I'm also thin and a vegetarian. This month I've decided not to obsess so much about limiting protein and fat and just concentrate on skipping breakfast and not snacking. I'm hoping that will be enough. I also weigh less than I did when I got pregnant the first time.
My Cliff's Notes version for two: I'm on cd3. Should O around Oct. 8 or so. This is our third cycle of ttc.

Can I run something by you all? Sorry if its a bit ling winded! So looks like I'll o today as this mornings temp rise was a bust. So I'm thinking well if any swimmers survived I have a chance of a fertilised egg. Not very confident in a o-2 cut off though as I've had an attempt at day before last 3 cycles. So I'm thinking I'll have an attempt tonight as if the egg hasn't been fertilised then I get basically a second chance by dtd tonight. So in reality it would still be one attempt right? Because if our bd from night b4 last works then egg will already be fertilised but if its not then I have a chance at fertilising it tonight. Does that make sense????

Do any other girl swayers actually have to force themselves to do the alcohol portion of the sway? I managed to actually have a drink or two maybe a dozen times over the past two months. Im going to try really hard to get it in every night this month, but at the end of the day- I find I'd rather be using that 150-300 calories for food than alcohol. And I'm just not a drinking person, so I spend an hour nursing a glass of wine on nights when I try to do it. I never drank at all with either of my boys so this is a huge change, on top of the drastic difference in my diet. I guess that's one of those "boy mom/girl mom" things. I'd so much rather have a cheeseburger than a glass of wine.

I've been charting off and on for 11 years with almost 70 charts to look back on and have always used a regular one decimal place thermometer. It's the same one I use for my kids, not even a basal on. I've never had a problem.

I've never drank in my life and started strictly for swaying purposes. The thought of drinking wine or beer makes me gag so I have a shot and a half of vodka in a diet cream soda every night! Someone on the boards mentioned this combo and it's so good! Before I was doing vodka and diet cherry Dr. Pepper which is also good. I only do it from AF to O though as I'm so not a drinker!

I feel like I'll never get pregnant and I think it's so negative for the process. I added yoga and a fertility mediation from YouTube to hopefully change my thoughts. I only do it 10 minutes a day before my kids are up. The first two months of swaying we dtd from 2-0 to O and I didn't get pregnant so it's tough to swallow.

When we used them for DS2, I put it in before getting up. I used soft cups because they sat up higher against the cervix than the diva cup.

This is end of my swaying journey ladies, me and dh have decided if we get a bfn this month then a 3rd dc just wasn't meant to be. I don't want to sway anymore and I didn't want to ttc unless I was swaying - even if I ended up with another ds I would at least know we tried our best for a dd. This would be the last cycle that would give me a due date around my 38th bday and dh's 45th and we just dont want to be any older than that if we were to have another baby. So I'm extra glad we had the other attempt and I'm really at peace with throwing in the towel and having life get back to normal :)

I hope you get a bfp this month! You have put a good effort in with your sway. It must be so hard to make that decision to stop.

Good evening ladies. Had zero time to get online the past couple of days and am so super stressed over work lately too. So not girl friendly!! Thankfully the stress should ease up after tomorrow!! FXed!!!
Today is CD6 for me and am not sure we are going to get to attempt this cycle either! I was on an anti biotic recently and now have a yeast infection which I unknowingly passed to DH so unprotected dtd is off the cards til we are both in the clear!! Have ordered CB smiley opks so should know more this monthly than last month anyway. Am hoping my regular longer cycles kick back into effect after my short one last month but only time will tell. Trying to be ok with this curve ball but it's hard!

Sending you all the best this month hun, you have given it your all and I must say fair play to you for making the decision to have a cut off time for when to stop trying. Really hoping this is your month though xxx

Ladies, I know how you feel. My dd2 took over a year to conceive. I started off swaying blue and dropped everything by the time she was conceived. I talk about it a lot but the bfn's really took a toll on me and have made ttc this time seem like a dream that will never happen. I envy that you are at peace with your decision. I feel like I won't stop until dh makes me. He's 44 so we won't try past March. Keeping positive thoughts can be so difficult!! Hopefully this is your bfp and you don't have to consider anything else!!

Sorry Foxcub, big hugs to you xx
I tested this morning (8dpo) big fat negative...... I don't think it will happen this month, just a feeling I have. I'm usually feeling a bit icky in the mornings at this stage, but I feel fine.
Will try a frer again tomorrow and again at 10dpo then wait for at to arrive.
Pbn, I'm with you on giving it your last go, I will go one more month then that's it. I can't stick to the diet any longer than that and I need to start living life with my boys instead of being caught up in this ttc world
Fingers crossed

Thanks everyone I hope this whole group gets bfps this cycle or next - what a way to go out lol!!
Immi you nailed it on the head - I feel like I've been so caught up in swaying and ttc and everything else has been put on the back burner. Dh and I knew going into this that it just may not happen and I actually feel more relieved and carefree than I have all year. Time to focus on my boys and be thankful for the wonderful family we have. I just know its time to stop :) I have everything crossed for you even though you're not feeling it!!
Purple the decision was actually easy in the end surprisingly! This is also the first cycle I haven't been thinking about the next and I couldn't be happier lol!
Hopper I really hope you end up being able to try this cycle!

Oh pbn wouldn't that be amazing!! Everything crossed for a bucket load of BFPs this month and next month so we can all move over to the due June/July/August thread!!!! I am feeling so inspired by you and Immi right now, thank you ladies!! X
Hoping to try this month but honestly am so sick of swaying have had more cheats than not since back from vacation. Cardio is all but gone out the window. With my new job finding the time on top of everything else is just proving impossible! And have really been beating myself up over the Lack of cardio!! I don't like who I am right now, I don't like my detached-ness (so not a word!!) I don't like my obsessiveness (definitely not a word either!!) I just want to be done. I think that's why the surprise AF hit me so hard last cycle, cause I wanted to be done and just have the whole swaying process taken out of my hands!

Aww magical thank you! I'm not sure about ivf price I hope someone can give you an idea of what you'd be looking at. Fx you just wont need it!!
Hopper try and stay positive :) if it makes you feel better I basically cheated the entire 2ww last cycle and one before! Completely understand how you're feeling about yourself not being yourself - ttc is hard enough without the swaying element! Stay strong!

I truly hope this is your month pbn. I think its great (and brave) that you could come to a decision and be at peace with it.
Ive certainly held my boys a little tighter the last few days ever thankful for the miracle that they are. Its certainly calmed me abit.
Hopper ikwym hang in there. I think most of us have our cheat days. Im getting back to focusing on a few things i repeatedly do each cycle which is snack, not enough exercise and jumping the gun whenever i see a line on an opk no matter how dark it is 😂 maybe focus on a few things this cycle rather than feeling its all a bust 😊
Sorry af arrived foxcubblue

What is the 'indent' line that I have heard people talk about? I couldn't help myself and used a dip test about 30mins ago (first response brand) and now I can see (maybe) a tiny (I'm talking tiny!!!) start and end of a 'maybe' line on the test... Is that an indent line? Like where the line would show if it were there?

Im not sure unless i were to see it ImmiNAddi.
The tests i did over the wkend had faint lines but they were on a few different tests so im just assuming it didn't stick. These were very faint lines and i at first thought they may be indent/evap lines.
FX its the real deal though xx

Photo? An indent line is kinda a line without colour, BFPs have colour.

I think it's when the line has no color. I swore I had a bfp once but there was no color and af started. I think it actually looked like an indented line.
Oh and again, I know I say this a lot but I'm an le girl and the queen of cheating. Sometimes I'd feel like a hamburger and I actually did light exercise with my second. The opks I got were $15 for 10 + a bonus pregnosis hpt.
I didn't realise your DS4 was still so young. That could have something to do with your cycles still adjusting. I hope you get some answers!

Pbn3 and anyone else who is thinking about giving up TTC because you can no longer sway-- As someone who has been swaying since February 2014, has had a miscarriage during that time, and has a DH who wants no more children and pulls out every time we DTD, you can still sway very lightly and get a girl. It happens all the time, here and IRL. I know in my heart that if I accidently got pregnant (and I did both times with DS1 and DS2) with zero sway I would 100% have another boy and that thought makes me so sad, so I knew I had to keep up some kind of "sway" until I either got back on the pill (not happening) or DH got a vasectomy. There's no way I could continue a super strict sway like I did when I got pregnant the 3rd time (miscarriage) but I could do a few things that sway girl and not do things that sway heavily boy.
As a classic boy mom I used to take daily multivitamins, probiotics, fish oil, vitamin D, and b-complex. I used to drink green or white tea daily. I never drank alcohol, coffee, or diet drinks. Cutting out the vitamins and tea and adding coffee and a daily diet soda with a shot of vodka were easy for me. So I continue with that. It doesn't take much effort.
I continue taking a spoonful of cinnamon a day in a single serve applesauce as this is easy too. It's my "dessert!"
DH continues to take OLE (since I'm in charge of his vitamins)
I've never been into exercise, and could barely keep up with my cardio when I was swaying hardcore, so I am a couch potato. Two of my best friends that have all girls don't exercise either.
With regards to the LE diet, there's no way I can count out all my calories, protein, fat every day or eat vegetarian so I don't do that. I got extremely iron deficient after doing the LE diet and having my miscarriage so I continue to eat meat daily to help my iron. My best friend is a vegetarian and has all boys and my 3 friends who have all girls all eat meat, so I don't think you have to cut out meat to get a girl. My friends with all girls do eat little red meat, so while I do eat red meat, I try and limit it to the TWW. Skipping breakfast has always been easy for me so I keep that up. No snacking is easy for me so I do that as well and stick to 2 meals a day. I have 1 serving of full fat dairy a day-- heavy cream in my cappuccino! I used to snack on nuts, beef jerky, and full fat yogurt, but now if I'm going to snack it will be with something sugary like candy! I used to eat a lot of salmon, now I buy white fish.
I don't worry about when to DTD. I use Preseed to help out any swimmers that may have escaped.
It's an extremely manageable "light sway" but it's still A LOT of changes from when I got pregnant with my boys. My advice for anyone thinking of giving up TTC, is to just pick a few girl friendly lifestyle changes that you can do without thinking and avoid a few of the biggest boy swayers. Because like Atomic says, so many people get fed up and stop swaying completely and all of a sudden BAM, they're pregnant right away with an opposite. It's always better to do a very manageable light sway then to give up everything (unless you're 100% ok with an opposite that is).
Good luck to everyone and I totally get the urge to throw in the towel!

Thank you Essnce, really needed that encourgement and reminder that I don't have to kill myself over this sway, just sticking with some of the changes already puts me in a much better place than when I conceived my girls. This group is such a blessing for support and finding people who totally get what you are feeling. It is so difficult not to get consumed by the whole thing and find it dictating your life and also to not just wish time away with waiting to o then waiting to test. Must enjoy the blessings and wonderful children I already have! I'm allowing myself one morning of feeling sorry for myself and that is it!
PBN, praying you get your BFP this cycle but also pleased that you are so at peace with your decision.

Y'ALL!!!
I am in complete shock! I have always ready stories of people throwing in the towel, not thinking they were pregnant! Well, now I am proof that happens! I woke up this morning and my temp spiked again. I stumbled into the bathroom to take a test, heart wasn't even racing like normal, I knew it was negative. I couldn't clear my eyes bc I sleep in my contacts. Well, this line popped right up! BABY P #3 is on the way!!!! Thank you, Jesus!!! I cannot believe this.
