I'm still dealing with hyperemesis. It's starting to improve, but it's not gone. I'm flying back from Costa Rica today and am so uncomfortable because I got a bad sunburn snorkeling on Tuesday. Blah.

I keep going back and forth on what I feel the twins are. I feel certain they are girls, or at least one pinky, and then distraught that I can't be that lucky. Like, serious panic attack type. I was that way when I was pregnant with DD too, and then doubted it the whole time no matter how many confirmations I had. When she was born I still doubted it somehow despite the proof being right in front of me. LOL
That sucks! Had that with my oldest. It was awful. If I so much as lifted my head off my pillow I got sick. Sitting up or standing was even worse. I feel for you :(

Oh you poor bugger two! That sounds horrid.

Bunny girl I was that way with my little boy last time. I so desperately wanted a boy. I found myself freaking out about whether the baby was ok and had extra scans. In hindsight I think it was all gender related. I am glad I found out so that if it hadn't have been a little boy I could have been prepared. I usually go team green. This time we will again I think.

Yellow is you will find out but don't yet know the gender.
Green is your not going to find out till birth, surprise gender.

I'm worried about some spotting I have. It is really not much at all, just CM with red in it but I'm sure that is how it started last time. I never had a single spot with both boys so now I'm sure this one isn't going to end well. Not much I can do but wait and see. Still just over 8 days until my scan. Sorry... not feeling positive today :(

Hang in there purple! How far along will you be at scan? Is there any chance they will move it forward or do an additional earlier one given your history?

I am nervously joining you ladies. I took three blue dye tests and one dollar tree pink at 12dpo and 13dpo and then took another blue and pink the next day but the pink was negative. I thought might be a chemical. I took frer on 17dpo and that was a strong bfp so I did another on 18dpo again bfp.
Praying for a sticky bean, I am due October 18. I have always wanted a fall baby :)

Hi purple. Had my scan today. Saw baby's heartbeat but have some small ablasions.?? in my uterus. I think is the word they used. Can cause spotting so maybe that is what happened with you?? I'm on pelvic rest but of course am now nervous about the next 6 weeks as well. First trimester is so tough.

Twointow how are you doing Hun?

2xblue how are you going these days?

Purple thinking of you. I know I had spotting with the only baby I lost, but I also know that many many women have spotting without loosing their babies.

Afm I'm feeling nervous. I'm 5+1 today. 5 years ago I lost a baby at 5+5. It was an October baby too. It just makes me nervous because I don't have ms yet and I feel ok. A little tired and boobs a tiny bit tender, but that could be due to my 21 month olds desperate feeding lately. He has gone back to feeding like a newborn. Probably because my milk is going a bit. And I'm always tired a bit, because I'm a mum of three kids and that's just what happens, so it is hard to know what is happening and that makes me feel worried. I don't want to get ms, but it would be somewhat reassuring iykwim?

Welcome everyone who has joined us lately!! Glad this thread is picking up.

Purple- with my first I had spotting at about 7-8 weeks. It was right before my scan (too late for implantation) and they moved my scan up and everything was fine. Hope that happens for I as well. Take it easy until then. I also had spotting (light pink) with this baby 1 week after missed period.

AFM-I'm about 10.5 weeks. My first scan the baby was measuring 1.5 weeks behind so we release red 1 week later (I don't think I've updated u all since then-sorry!!) and the baby was right on track. The first week of March I go back to my dr. For a routine visit and get the first trimester screening done. This is a new dr for me and I find it odd they haven't even taken blood yet, just did a pelvic exam and sonogram.

Bunnygirl- glad the twins are doing good!!

So happy for all the new people who have joined us and fingers crossed everyone sticks around with healthy babies.

Ok, ms has died down a lot but trying to to let it worry me. I have other issues that are increasing so that helps. As I already mentioned there is the gas that could be used as a biological weapon lol ;) Also, my TTs are inreasingly sore to the point where they almost feel like Muhammad Ali has been using them for speed bags (the small punching bags). If something so much as grazes them it's painful. DH pinched one out of habit yesterday and it took everything I had in me not to punch him in the danglers lol. I'm still pretty tired... NO issues with insomnia lately which has been wonderful!!! but I am still tired all day so it feels the same, just not laying there frustrated that I can't sleep for half the night. My back is like 6 shades of sore, but that is mostly because of work. My appt is on Wen (day after tomorrow) and I am going to try to talk them into doing the u/s that day, but if not I am off on Thursday so that should be the latest I have to wait. Still very nervous about the u/s but eager as well so wanting to see my bean asap. The hard part is after that I'll have another 6 weeks to wait before I get another (@ 12 weeks).

As far as nursing, it sounds like your little one is "cluster feeding". They tend to eat veraciously like that just before and during a growth spurt. Hopefully you get some good, solid signs soon that help reassure you.

Thanks two. It does seem like cluster feeding. Although at 21 months I'd sorta thought he might have grown out of them. Take care of those girls of yours. I know my hubby has been put on a warning that he may well loose a hand if he touches them. I have enough to cope with just keeping my little boy from playing with my nipples. God help me!

Anyway I'm to bed. Thanks for the encouragement two. I'm sure it will be ok, it's just hard because I lost a baby this time five years ago that was an October baby too, so I think I am more anxious than normal.

I hear you on the gas too twointow!! Ha! I have ms that lasts 20 hours, indigestion and heartburn that made me cry it was so bad last week. :( I'm exhausted and I'm napping at least 1.5-2.5 hrs a day in addition to sleeping at night. The past week has been hell in our house. My 6 year old got a stomach bug for the first time in his life and puked for 6-7 hours including on me and all over our bed, my beloved Granny was in heart failure and had open heart surgery (triple bypass) on Thursday (that was thankfully successful) but she's still in ICU and making trips 2 hrs away (and being in a hospital which always makes me feel icky) has taken my nausea to another level. I'm an eternal optimist that somehow thought I would escape ms this third go round but what the heck was I thinking?? It set in even earlier and the indigestion/heartburn is worse that it ever was with my previous pregnancies. This little one is definitely our last!!:3kids:

Purple I spotted with my first early on too and all ended well. I even went to the ER and they checked my cervix, it was still closed and my numbers were still high so they said it happens and to just take it easy. Sending you lots of positive thoughts!!

I haven't had any spotting the last 2 days so hopefully it was nothing to worry about. I only have very mild nausea but I'm sure I didn't get it until later for DS1. My boobs are pretty painful but they were really sore last time too.

2xblue - I don't think we will get the NIPT done. I'm too scared to see a definite gender if it isn't what I want. I did have a dream the other night that I had the test and it was a girl.

I was just thinking about that test last night and how I will react to the gender portion. I will most likely get it as I am officially advanced maternal age this pregnancy (I am 37). Also I do not want to do the NT ultrasound as that was when we found out about the last miscarriage and I do not want to go back there again.

I long for the ignorant bliss that we felt when I was pregnant with my first son, not this afraid to dream and plan feeling that occurs after having losses.

I had NIPT along with NT scan and standard hormone-based first trimester screen. The blood work was unnecessary though, as it's very inaccurate with multiples (especially since we have a vanishing triplet) versus singleton. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I got "no XY detected" which would mean twin girls and at least partially fit with the tech's "75% girl" opinion for one of the twins. When I was pregnant with DD I had two NIPTs done as part of a study the manufacturer was doing because one of my meds is made from animal products and apparently there is a suspected connection to decreased accuracy with thise types of meds. I got different results, including gender, between the two. That's the main reason I'm not willing to let myself believe the test results are right this time.

Bunnygirl, that sounds really promising but I understand why you are not trusting the results now. FX for twin girls or atleast one girl! When will you have your next scan?

I've been on diclegis for over a week and still dry heaving. Ugh - first trimester is the WORST!!! The bump and Record & Share Every Milestone, Moment and Memory | Countdown My Pregnancy (http://www.countdownmypregnancy.com/) both have Chinese gender predictor charts and they both say Boy for my boys. The bump is predicting Boy for this one and the countdown site is predicting Girl so I like that one better :)

I saw my Dr today and got my referral for the scan. It was nice that she didn't tell me how old I am this time :) I'm 36 so not that old really but last time she told me about all the increased risks being 35.

Now we are waiting for the NIPT results!

Now that I'm looking at my scan pictures I'm already starting to nubsess. At the scan I saw a very long flat nub. I got three pictures from the scan and first I thought they looked girly but now that I'm staring at them I think the nub is little bit on the rise. So if it's already on the rise it could be boy. Oh god, I thought I was not going to do this to myself as I will get accurate results from NIPT but obviously can't help it. I posted the pictures to the nub guessing forum if someone wants to look at them.

Two I didn't know you got your bfp! Congrats. What's your edd?

Bunny that's interesting that your hcg wasn't crazy high at first. Definitely not what I'd expect with multiples.

I had my u/s this morning. Bubs has a strong hb of 117 bpm and is measuring 6w 5d. It is slightly behind my dates but my o date could be out (maiden thinks I O'd cd30 so maybe she is right). The sac looked really good too with a nice strong edge. I can post a photo tonight, don't want to get it out at work! Although its just a blob at this stage :)

Those actually are pretty high numbers, well above average for so early. My period is due 15DPO always (14-day LP), so at one day late they were well over 3000 already. For comparison sake, my other kids were around 30 at 12DPO, so this pregnancy was nearly 10 times higher.

Oh that's interesting. I've always been 200-300 very early so I guess everyone is different. My only two friends I know with twins had numbers that tripled or quadrupled so that's all I knew.

I've been wondering when everyone would start freaking out about the sex of the baby!!!! I keep going back and forth from caring to not and thinking that I should have swayed more. My pregnancy has been the same as with both of my boys just A few small differences but I'm four years older and we now live eight hours away from where we used to so environmental differences could be influencing. I need to go home today and compare my sonogram of my boys to this current baby at the same ages.

Dpike00 I have wondered about the sex but just trying not to think about it too much bc I was upset with last baby bc I wanted a boy but this time I said that I was not going to not get upset and be thankful and know if I don't have a boy GOD has a reason for it even if I may not understand it. But I'm believing that I'll get my lil boy.

Thanks ga girl. It was a transvaginal u/s if that make a difference. I was told ds2 was girl based on ramzi though so not sure I take it too seriously :)

I'm not showing atm but do get quite bloated in the afternoon. I'm just going to stick to my loose fitting clothes. I didn't want to tell anyone until I know the gender but I looked back at my photos of me at 16wks and I can't hide it that long! I will just wait and see how I feel later on.

I have told my parents and a friend at work as they knew about my m/c and I wanted some support if it happened again. I want to tell my sister but then think that means I should tell my brother, although she knows about the m/c and he doesn't. Then if I tell them DH might want to tell his family so it is easier to not tell anyone else!

I'm 5 weeks today and I'm sooo tired. I've been in bed by 8:30 every day.

I'm also sad that I've gained 13 pounds on HE diet even though I did my best to eat whole foods and healthy fat plus weight training and some cardio. I'm still in the normal weight for my height and bmi but bigger than I'd like. I'm hoping to only gain 20 pounds this pregnancy and I've kept up the working out even though I'm tired. The sad thing is I got really stressed and nervous because I thought I saw blood in the toilet and I ate half a box of Samoas! [emoji24] who knew I was such a stress eater. It wouldn't be so bad, except since my oldest two started preschool and pre-K a few months ago everyone's sleep schedule has gotten messed up. We put them down an hour earlier at night and that translates to them waking up 2-3 hours earlier sp I'm not getting as much sleep as I used to and no morning quiet time to get in any cleaning or me time anymore. The pregnancy isn't helping any either. LOL

How far along does everyone like to be when they make it public? I can't decide this time. I've always waited until the first trimester was at its end.... And this time ttc I've been saying I don't want to tell anyone until we knew gender. I really don't want to hear all those "hope it's your girl" comments. I know people mean well but I think it's offensive. Of course I swayed girl and I'd love a girl but I'd love another boy the same... he wouldn't mean any less to me.
Also, this being our 4th.... I know everyone will think we are insane.
But I also suck at keeping these things to myself! Plus on Easter we will be with family and if I am not drinking wine my mom will wonder why. And she's probably the judgiest of all. Ughhh anyway, when do you announce? Sorry if this has already been discussed!

BunnyGirl19

We have already told most ppl around here... kinda hard to keep it secret when your co-workers know (preg related restrictions) and aren't quiet about it. "You look like u don't feel good... morning sickness??" But out of towners will have a long wait. They don't get to find out until we surprise my grandma by showing preggo and huge in may. Otherwise someone will spill the beans and ruin the surprise. My Dad is the one exception to that but the surprise was his idea so I know he won't say anything.

Hi ladies! Hope its ok I thread crash here but was wondering if anyone would be willing to do the 'pencil gender test' as a fun only experiment. Its not only suppose to predict gender of your current pregnancy but will also predict how many children and gender you've both already had and what's to come. Thought it would be really fun to do seeing how most of you are team yellow and are yet to find out :) Bunnygirl I would love to see if it picks up twins for you :) if anyone is interested you can google pencil gender test and there's a youtube vid showing how to do it and what means what etc... I plan on doing it as soon as I can get a pencil with an eraser on the end of it lol. Cannot believe out of the hundred pencils we have none have an eraser 😠

I tried it for fun tonight. Twice, lol. It "said" the same thing both times and was accurate on all known genders (lost and born), went crazy on last preg indicating possibly boy/girl twins but I never saw that baby until AFTER D&C and MTX (misdiagnosed ectopic) so if there were 2 doc could have "gotten" the second during D&C (we do know I O'd 2 eggs that cycle) so either way I'll never know, and it indicated girl for this one both times. Not letting it get my hopes up but it was interesting :)

This is my 6th preg(only 2 live births). And it was accurate for me... except my last preg which it went crazy on but that preg was a bundle of questions anyway. ER said they saw 2. 1 inutero and 1 in tube. My OB says there was only one but never saw the u/s either, just the report which claimed the inutero bean was just an irregular sac of fluid. Never found a bean in my tube or anything though... so like I said... lots of questions.

If u dont know genders of your loses it makes it a little harder but not impossible.

I made my first hospital appointment but it's not until early April. I will probably book my NT scan the weekend before.

I'm not feeling much m/s so I keep worrying even though we saw the scan last week.5 weeks until I get another scan so I'm not sure how I will cope waiting that long but I don't want to pay $160 for an extra scan.

Girls, I'm so nervous about the baby's gender. I will find out in a week. I could call this Friday and ask for the results, they might be in already. But I really don't won't to hear the gender on the phone. They will send me a letter with the results but it probably will arrive next week. I was thinking if I call on Friday and if the results are in maybe I should go over there and if they could print me the results on paper and we could read them on the weekend. This wait is killing me. So definitely not team green!

purple
February 29th, 2016, 05:28 AM
2xblue I would ask them to print them so you can pick them up and then read them in your own time. It would be nice to be able to be alone or just with your DH to take in the news (although I think its pink :) )

Purple, I think that's what I'm going to do. I just hope the results are already in on Friday. I really hope it's a pink one but I keep imagining how it feels to open the letter and read 'it's a boy'... I can't believe how impatient I am. One week isn't that long, but right now it feels like forever. Also I really hope the baby is healthy, that is of course the main thing.

Purple, I understand, 5 weeks until your next scan is a long time but I really hope everything is fine with your baby. Did you have ms with your sons?

They seemed convinced there were twins even though we could clearly only see one. They even said next week at the heartbeat u/s they'll be able to tell. My dh is so scared now but I'm pretty certain it's just one.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160229/e10058cc75e8a19a1cba2f5bd23017c1.jpg

Okay this is probably a really dumb question but it's been a LONG Time since I've been pregnant. I know the exact date I ovulated (2.5 weeks ago) and when I type that in to a due date calculator it tells me I'm 4 weeks along. Why?

Because they count your due date starting from CD1, or in other words from your last menstrual period. Technically you are only 2.5 weeks but the due date includes the beginning of your cycle when you were on your period.

It's because it is to include the fully mature egg which starts at CD1 as it is being prepared to be released by the ovary.

DS2 was born at home with a private midwife. This time I'm planning to use the hospital program that wasn't around 4 years ago, unless my previous mudwife becomes available again (she can't work at the moment unfortunately).

I has some ms with my boys. DS2 was the worst so it is what I keep comparing too as I can't remember DS1 as well. I don't know if weight makes a difference as I was my heaviest with DS2 so I think everything was harder with that pregnancy.

Have you guys done home births before?

My last 2 births were at hospital but with midwives and all natural. One time I had to get out of the tub because baby heart rate was going down and then the other time I never made it past the room they take your vitals in :-/

This time, since my last birth was so fast I don't feel comfortable driving the 40 minutes to that hospital and the one in my town doesn't work with midwives. So I'm still dr shopping. There is a midwife in town who does home births but I just can't decide.... I don't know why the thought makes me a little nervous :-/ It sounds amazing given that nothing goes wrong. What sold you on going for it?

My last birth was in a hospital and is was the most traumatic thing I can ever remember. So much pressure and rushing and poking and prodding. Me and the baby got so little rest that it was hard to bond and learn how to nurse. Once we got home we could relax and everything was so much better. After lots of research and speaking with lots of friends whom have had home births I decided it was right for me. I've been so passionate about it since my last birth 4 years ago... I'm so ready.

I'm sorry about your last experience. That's great that you are so sure. My first birth I was very uneducated about the whole process. I was young, 20. My OB said she wanted to induce me at 39 weeks. I agreed because I didn't know any better. It went ok but I hated the feeling of being stuck in the bed. I made a feeble attempt at a birth plan that got tossed aside. She gave me an episiotomy even though I had in my plan that I wanted to tear naturally. My son was only 6 lbs 7 oz and clearly could've cooked a little longer. It could have been worse but it definitely wasn't what I'd hoped.

My last 2 births with the midwives were amazing. Even the hospital is a small one and very natural birth friendly. Nurses were amazing. They listened to everything I wished. Delayed cord clamping, delayed bath, gave him the vaccines and pokes that I consented to and left out the ones I didnt. Just so amazing all around. I'm going to have a hard time not going back :-/

I honestly have no clue. I've had three boy pregnancies and one I was puking all day every day the first trimester, the second I felt fantastic... never felt even the slightest bit sick- it was great, my third I was nauseous but never actually threw up. I swear this time I'm going to try not to read into symptoms because each of my pregnancies has been so different.

Well... here is my experience but don't take it as gospel. My pregs with my first 3 ( all boys, 2 healthy term deliveries 1 late loss) were nearly identical varying only in DEGREE of ms. I was going to be sick, that was a given, it was just a matter of am I gonna toss my cookies 1-2 times a day (youngest), 4-5 times a day (late loss) or 10+ times a day (oldest). With my 4th pregnancy (DD) I had like zero symptoms except the non-stop headache BUT that preg was doomed from the word go. This time, compared to my boys, I have no ms. Don't get me wrong... I feel like crap on a cracker (fatigue, headaches, feeling like I'll be sick if I don't eat then feeling sick when I do but I typically don't ACTUALLY get sick, etc). I have no idea what I am having yet... gut says boy but I think that is more my mind trying not to get my hopes up than anything. But time will tell.

I'm very pro hospital birth, but I also require monitoring be ause of my diabetes and blood clotting disorder (puts me at risk for life threatening complications). My first two deliveries were relatively easy, no real issues except a few with #2 due to blood sugar mostly. Then #3 was going along great until she decided to flip at 8 cm dilated. Before they could do the ultrasound to see if she was deliverable breech, version, or c-section my water broke and she shot out feet first. She got stuck at her hip level, cord compressed, heart rate plummeted. The nurse jumped on the foot of the bed to shove her back in and hold her to decompress the cord. I was rushed for an emergency c-section. Despite being out in under 5 minutes she was suffering birth trauma, struggling to breathe and very low Apgars. She stabilized and came off the vent by evening, but needed a 10-day stay in the NICU under the lights because of severe bruising. She was purple from foot to butt. I would never risk a home birth after my experience with DD. when something goes wrong every second counts.

Aw Bunnygirl your poor babe! And that is why I hesitate. I know those situations aren't real likely but you just don't know. As irritating as hospitals can be when trying to birth naturally I almost think at home I'd be worried which isn't really productive when you're supposed to be relaxed. Hm... I guess I have a while to think about it. :-)

Hospitals have their place when women are higher risk or they just prefer to be at one. If I was having twins I would probably go to hospital because I would be unlikely to find a midwife to care for me at home and I wouldn't do it without some assistance.

My first was born at the hospital, overall I had a pretty good birth although last minute complications (mild PE) meant I couldn't use the birth centre rooms which as I was induced (just gels, no pictocin luckily!)

My 2nd was a nice calm waterbirth at home. My midwife is the most amazing person ever so I'm still super hopeful I can have her again. My husband said he was so much more comfortable at home too as he didn't get bossed around like at the hospital :) My eldest was there but for the actual birth he went outside to play as he wasn't really interested.

I completely understand it not being for everyone though!

I wasn't worried in the slightest but I trusted my body and my midwife. After he was born he was a little stunned and needed some puffs of air to get going but I was amazingly calm when that was happening. He had come out a little fast and had is cord around his neck and body but it was fine. Probably helped I had all the oxytocin released in my body to make me calm. My mum admits she was a little worried.

I really appreciate everyone's points of view. I intend to do a lot of reading and thinking on it. The reason I went to the out of town hospital for my last two was because I heard that the hospital in town is so intervention happy. I'll probably meet with a couple of prospective OB's and the midwife in town and just see.

I've had two home births now after my first was a hospital intervention filled eventual c/s that I consented to because I couldn't keep fighting them off. I knew I wasn't goi to suddenly not be compliant in labour so I wanted to get different care in labour and birth. As the private hospitals locally can't guarantee the dr you pick won't be away or off call and you get a complete stranger with you and since you never know who the midwife would be I chose homebirth so that I could pick who would care for me. I have never been homebirth at all costs and if my midwife had advised me to go to hospital I wouldn't have wasted time arguing because the trust was there and I was comfortable that we were on the same page. They have been beautiful births that left me well physically as well as emotionally and mentally, something my first birth didn't provide. You have to birth where you feel safe tho and that's why homebirth isn't for everyone.

Do you have a hospital near you that works with midwives or promotes natural birthing? I went to a hospital but used a midwife who helped me be as natural as possible. She was phenomenal and told the nurses what they should do. It was such a better birthing experience than my first when I had to lay in the bed so I didn't make a mess for the nurses. My last pregnancy was high risk because of an umbilical chord issue so I was thankful for the hospital.

The constant disruptions are really annoying though.

I feel like I'm having a boy but I know intuition is out the window when you have a preference. I had a feeling my first was a girl but wanted a boy for dh. I was sure dd2 was a boy but after coming back to this site I realized how much I had slipped back to my LE ways. This time around I've been on HE diet for the most part since July. I fell off a bit around Christmas because of the holidays and I was briefly pregnant. I know the diet, weights, and supplements aren't the magic answer but I feel like I did my best. Unfortunately , I gained 13 pounds even though I did my best to eat as clean as possible. Thankfully I'm still in the healthy range of weight but I'll be moving into maternity clothes pretty fast I'm sure!

It is about 40 minutes away..... I birthed there with the midwives for my last 2 births and it was amazing. But this time I think they no longer take my health insurance and I'm also worried about the drive as my last labor was so quick. Also now that we have 3 children to leave in some one else's care I feel like it'd be easier to be right in town so my dh can run home and back to the hospital.

The hospital I use is great about not pushing interventions and is certified baby friendly. Regardless, I don't qualify for unmonitored or intermittently monitored labor. Because of my clotting disorder there is a much higher risk of abruption or cord rupture in labor so monitors are kept on all the time. They do have wireless monitors though, so I can get up and walk and also waterproof ones so I can sit in the tub (allowed until 8 cm and no birthing in it). I am hooked up on IV fluids and insulin/glucose drip machine for my gestational diabetes as well. I've had good experiences overall with my births. I think a big part of it is that I'm not rigid about how I expect it to go and what I want done throughout labor. Things change and I go with the flow. I actually do not even make a birth plan because I think it sets you up for disappointment if something needs to change along the way.

I like the idea of birth centers, attached to the hospital, because you get the best of both worlds. You are able to get immediate intervention if something goes wrong, but it's less "medical" overall. No midwife would ever agree to treat me with my clotting disorder though. As it is, I'm considered too complicated for a regular OB as well. I automatically start with and continue with perinatology. He's never been the one to deliver my babies due to the hospital using rotations of doctors, but maybe this time he will since the perinatology clinic got moved to the hospital attached to L&D and the NICU. There is also a decent chance of needing a c-section with the twins. It's not common for both babies to end up in the correct position. If it's safe I'd like my twins to be my second VBAC, but that will be determined much closer to delivery or during labor.

We share a lot in common 2xblue!! So, I am really trying to work through this gender knowledge. I can't decide if I should know or not know. I can have my Harmony test in 1.5 weeks. I can find out the gender then but DH would like to wait until the birth. He has wanted to with each baby but I always outweighed him and needed to know. I cried on our way home when I found out Baby #2 was a boy. I swore we would do HT for our #3 to ensure it was a girl but the cost was too much for me to feel like we really should. I desperately want a girl and so does DH and the rest of our immediate and extended family. I honestly feel like I will let everyone down if it's not a girl. I know that sounds silly but its how I feel especially since my in-laws are not at all happy about us having 3 kids, they think anyone with more than 2 are crazy.:sigh:

A part of me thinks I should wait until the birth because how could I possibly be sad with a new little baby in my arms?? I know I wouldn't be. I try to picture myself finding out early especially if it's a boy and I worry that I will spend the rest of my pregnancy a little too sad and disappointed. I worry about how I'll react and process things if it's another boy, which I'm so embarrassed to admit. A friend of mine had her baby yesterday (she didn't know what she was having) and its a girl. My heart actually sank a little when I found out because I want it so bad but it truly may not be in the cards for me which is so hard to accept. I'm so frustrated at myself for not just being happy for her! Anyway, thanks for "listening". I feel like this is the only place I can truly say how I feel about it without sounding ungrateful. :worry:

My in-laws are the same. Two kids is fine, maybe a third if the first two are the same gender, but that better be the max. They had such a fit over #4 that DH is going out of his way to hide this pregnancy and covering me up in big, sloppy hoodies when they are around. I'm kind of sad because I want to announce the twins. DH is just too afraid of their bad reactions to allow it yet.

My blood test said I'm having girls, but it's not as accurate for twins so we're waiting for ultrasound to confirm it. Praying at least one is pink.

Isn't it so sad Bunny Girl that they can impact your lives so much? Mine told my DH, " I don't know why you want a girl, they're so much more trouble to raise." That was their reaction when he told them we were expecting again. Grrrr....I long for the day that we no longer live in the same state as them. It's our life, they should hold their tongues and show happiness for another baby to be born into a loving family. What's not to be happy about when it comes to a baby?? Once this horrible 24/7 nausea lifts I'll be ecstatic about whatever this baby is!!

Ahhhhhh, so exciting Am3a!!! Do you feel any different this time around? I have two boys and am hoping for a girl this time around but will be over the moon for the new baby, regardless! So glad you are joining our group!!

Hi crd5ed, thank you, we're so excited but already the doubt has crept in to whether I heard the dr right or even if the test is right! Gah!

I feel just the same as my boys: sick, tired and craving carbs! In fact, I was convinced bub was another boy because I feel the same.

Am, huge congrats on your girl! So exciting!

crd, it's a though decision wether to find out or not. I've been thinking about it alot. If I hear boy now before birth I'm little worried how sad I will be the rest of the pregnancy. I don't want to be sad, I want to be happy about the new baby. But I'm sure I will be ok, atleast I have time to prepare before birth. I've been thinking if I would find out at birth it's a boy I would probably be little disappointed. I don't want to feel that way with a newborn. But I understand your point of view and everyone has to make their own decisions and what's best for them. I would love to experience team green as we've never done that before but I think I can't wait that long.

crd, it's so hard when someone is having your dg. Hugs! People have been really nice when we have told we are having a third child. Two people have asked if it was an accident. Other was MIL! She is really nice person, I think she was just so surprised. She is really happy for us. So is my mom and everyone else we have told. I think it's horrible when people don't feel happy about the new baby. Especially when it's your relatives. So big hugs to you and hopefully your inlaws will be happier once the baby is hear.

My NIPT results are in!!! I called them today. Baby's chromosomes are fine so I'm really happy he/she is healthy. Didn't ask the gender. I will pick the letter up tomorrow and we will probably find out the gender tomorrow evening! Omg I'm so nervous.

I'm scared to get my gender results early. I'm doing Progenity and having them call dh. I'm hoping he will keep the results of the sex from me so I can just enjoy this pregnancy since it's my last one. I'll be ten weeks on 3/31 so I think I can technically take the test then. I'm already nervous about it. After swaying for 7 months, I don't want it to be for nothing. Plus I told dh boy sways had good results and I don't want to be wrong. I would just feel so broken-hearted for him if it's another girl.

My hcg test from exactly 4 weeks came back today and it was 203. Is that normal? I haven't had any issues such as bleeding or anything so I'm assuming it's all good. This was through my family dr... Haven't picked a midwife yet.

What is done is done, u have done what u can. If it doesn't happen then it just wasn't meant to be. I have basically accepted that this is a boy. That way if this baby IS a boy the tests will confirm what I already believe to be true. If this baby is a girl then I will get a wonderful surprise. I figure it's better to make peace with it now than to be disappointed later.

I'm scared too :-/

Are you stopping at 2? For me this is my definite last shot. There is no way we are having 5 kids! Haha.

I'm sure you've heard it before but raising brothers is truly great. I love it so much. Just would be nice to have just one daughter :-(

Are you going to find out by blood test?

If we have a girl this would most likely be our last. If we get a boy we might try once more but then I feel like I would be so stressed trying to sway. I don't know.

I know I will love him as much as my other boys but the thought of never having a daughter is just making me so sad right now. This is absolutely our last child so no more chances for a girl.

I got my 'gender experts' guess on my 7wk scan. Apparently girl but I don't take the ramzi therory too seriously.

I should sumbit my scan for ds2 to see what they say but it takes a week to get the results.

Not to change the topic, but I have a question. Anyone else having issues eating anything less than "clean"? Seriously, the idea of a burger from McDonalds is a complete turn off.. even a "healthy" chicken one. BUT give me a veggie platter (which I am currently munching on) and it tastes like heaven! For lunch I had a lettuce wrap.. not 100% "clean, but it had a pickle, slice of cheese and a bit of mustard and it was divine. But, again, The best smell in the world (fresh baked cookies) makes me wanna hurl :( I am also having issues with meat. I can handle meat IN something (like chilli) as long as it functions ONLY as a protein and there are no big hunks and other flavors override the flavor of the meat itself, but I can't bring myself to eat a piece of chicken. The other day we went out for dinner. I am not a very adventurous eater, I stick with what I like and I get 1 of 2 things 99% of the time and the other 1% is usually something Italian. The 2 things I normally get are either a BBQ bacon cheeseburger or a "stuffed tomato" (basically it is a tomato sliced open in wedges with a big helping of either tuna or chicken salad on it and served with LOADS of fresh fruit and veggies). The fruit and veggies sounded good, but the idea of tuna salad or chicken salad turned my stomach. I ended up getting a veggie omelet. Not complaining, just curious if it's just me. In my previous pregs I craved food very differently. With DS1 I craved sour kraut, with angel #1 I craved subway, with DS2 I craved sweets, and my last 2 pregs didn't get far enough to really discover what my cravings were. Seems bizarre to me given my record, lol. It's like this baby will only except the very best... or wants mommy to be vegetarian :giggle:

I LOVED veggies with DS. I ate veggie plates everywhere we went and always snacked on fresh veggies too. Atleast it's healthy! Haha I'm about to eat a bacon cheeseburger. Lol.

I'm having weird cravings too, but honestly I wish I could get away with eating nothing at all because food overalls sounds so horrible to me most of the time. Unless I get a craving then that's all I want but once I have it I'm over it, I don't want it again. I've been nauseated since the week following my positive test. I'm the most nauseous at night, 4pm on I'm a mess so I take diclegis at night bc it helps me sleep and get a little relief from the nausea. So far my craving has been a 7 layer burrito from Taco Bell (which I haven't had in 6 years at least) and sweets. I cannot wait for the 2nd trimester when food will look/sound good again!!

I have been FREEZING too!! Thankfully we just bought a heated mattress cover (has like 9 settings so no risk of getting too warm) so when I am at home I am in bed with my blanket on and my heater set to 4.

BTW, someone mention the Ramzi method. I looked it up and based on the pics on the sticky it looks like bean's placenta is on the left... does it look that way to you all?

Lots of food is unappealing to me and sometimes I would rather not have to eat but I make sure I do.

I'm not freezing but it is still summer weather here. I never feel overly hot when pregnant but both times I was big right through most of winter and early spring so it will be the same again. Probably the best timing for a pregnancy avoiding the heat of summer!

Was that a transvaginal scan Two? I think the right side of the photo is your left.

twointow83
March 4th, 2016, 11:00 PM
Yes, transvaginal. But wouldn't the pics in the sticky be transvaginal too? Those are some really early ultrasound pics too. Also, Ramzi is supposed to predict early in the first tri... which is transvaginal territory.

ETA: pics in sticky say "trans" on them.

purple
March 4th, 2016, 11:13 PM
They tried the external scan on me first but it doesn't work well for my tilted uterus. I think sometimes they don't have to do transvaginal scans but most often they would.

Not sure about the left and right but they all seemed to be switched over on the gender experts site.

I have a retroverted uterus so it's trans for me until AT LEAST 10 weeks (with a bladder ready to explode) or 12 weeks with an empty bladder. Thankfully my current OB doesn't dish out the "let's make you have to go so bad you are in physical pain and then make you lay down so we can push down HARD to make you even more miserable" brand of torture. Empty bladder every time. If they can't see through the belly they just switch to trans until you are further along.

Don't put too much stock into Ramzi theory. My sweet DS3 whom I just nursed to sleep had his placenta on the left side too. I also ovulated on the left (different theory), and he is definitely all boy!

I just don't want to see you ladies get too excited about it or get your hopes up. The only way to know for sure it with a NIPT, or a scan at 13+ weeks.

I wanted blue last time and I thought I did again but now I'm not sure...feeling open to either I think. Someone mentioned food. I'm jealous of your veggie addiction. They sound horrendous to me but so does just about everything and yet I have an easier time eating things that aren't good for me..perhaps I "know" they taste better. I'm also extremely bloated and overall pretty uncomfortable. I'm looking forward to week 12:) So I looked up Ramzi theory too and I just can't quite wrap my brain around it and I can't decipher the photos. Also, I'm so early in pregnancy and I have never experienced this in past pregnancies but I've been getting pretty uncomfortable cramps and back pain. Congrats Lala. Kmom I had crazy cramping and pain in areas I've never had at 4 weeks this time. I was soooo scared but luckily you seem more calm than me, lol. It was obviously nothing and my RE said our hormones cause crazy aches and pains.

I'm 6w2d and the nausea started right on time yesterday. It's only in the morning if I don't eat. Since I got pregnant I'm slipping into my natural LE ways and eat later. My light nausea scares me because that's what I had with both my dds. It's making me feel better that a lot of people have the same symptoms with both genders.

Hi ladies!
I'm tentatively jumping in to join you. I've been lurking for a while but afraid to post too early. I had two back-to-back miscarriages last year, so I'm a bit gun shy. :) Praying I don't have to bow out! I'm 10w, due Oct 1st with my 4th baby. After 3 boys and two losses, I just got my panorama results back...and it's a girl! I'm still in shock and not totally believing it. I've been swaying for—no joke!—five years now for a girl. (ds #3 was a opposite sway) This cycle, ironically, I didn't do much of a sway. Ha! Figures, right? Now I'm just hoping she sticks! Heard a strong heartbeat at 8w, so that was a relief. Hcg levels never got terribly high, but hoping that doesn't matter too much now? We're still not telling anyone—even the kids—until 12 weeks, just in case. I have my next appt. on March 23, so I'm just crossing fingers and toes, and counting down days until then to make sure we're still healthy and heart a-beating.
Been so nauseous with this one that I've lost 10 lbs already. Can only eat bagels and toast most days. Occasionally a bean burrito or peanut butter sandwich for a little protein. But nothing resembling meat or vegg. Ugh. Even the typing the words is making me queasy. lol! And sooo tired. Of course, that could be due to the three active boys and the fact I'm...ahem...on the older side. Amazing how different it is being pregnant at 39 than with my first at 22.

Purple- I did the same thing with gender experts and also heard girl. My issue is we have bad internet service and after a week I thought it didn't go through so I checked my email, then resubmitted my order and forgot to put Transvaginal ultrasound then I looked at my email and my gender experts results were back. It was almost instant so I guess it was from the first submission? Hopefully, except I put no stock in the Ramzi theory either. I submitted the other one but haven't heard back. I kind of want to do 1 more through my husbands email. I can't find my boys 6 week ultrasound or I'd do that too!

I too want carbs and more junk food. Sweets please!!!!!!

I've also had 2 colds and a slight stomach virus since I've been pregnant. My kids have to stop bringing stuff home. I'm act. Worried about baby. NIPT testing Monday.
Congrats girliedreamz!!!!

I question how good Gender Experts are. I was told DD's nub was a boy, although to be fair, IG and another forum gave me nearly all boy guesses too despite being flat (I got almost all girl guesses here). I got wrong Ramzi guesses from them too, and by wrong, I mean they told me girl when it was on the boy side, boy when it was on the girl side, etc. I've also submitted the same pictures (cropped differently so they weren't completely identical) and gotten conflicting answers. They are about as good as a coin toss in my view.

Is morning sickness at 5 weeks exactly ridiculously early or normal?

Ugh. I started feeling strange when I was making myself an omelet. I was a hungry so I ate it anyway but now I'm regretting it. I've only had morning sickness with one of my pregnancies, my first, like 8 years ago. And that didn't begin until I was 8 weeks.

Am I a freak or anyone else felt like poo this early? :-(

Mine started at 6 weeks exactly but I read a lot of symptoms can start 5-6 weeks. Are you throwing up? Mine is just an all day nausea but I still get hungry and nothing sounds good.

I felt like crap straight from the get go..you know when everyone says you can't possibly feel bad yet. With my first pgrenancy I felt great the whole way through. My second one I felt like crap and now with this one I feel like it's the worst it's been so far. I never actually throw up, I just feel terrible. Most times nothing sounds good at all and I just force myself to eat and other times only one thing sounds good and most times I indulge myself because I feel so awful. Long answer to a short question but no 5 weeks isn't too early. I'm sorry you feel like poo!

Oh and I know this is counter intuitive but I find the emptier my stomach is the sicker I feel so I constantly eat.

Thanks lala :-)

Yes I do remember that about it, never get too hungry. Which is why I continued to make my omelet but man I wish I would've just opted for toast lol. Yes, my last pregnancy was what you are talking about.... I never actually threw up but just always felt like I was going to. With my middle son I felt fantastic the whole time.

With ds2 I felt sick early on from 5wks. This time I'm still waiting to feel really bad. I'm only getting very mild nausea occasionally. I wish I could remember what it was like with ds1 better. I think it was pretty mild at this stage too.

I'm 9wks tomorrow which is when I lost my last one. I knew that was coming though as bub wasn't growing property and had a very weak fetal pole... this one was ok for size and had a good heart beat but I'm still worried!

I can't wait to start feeling some movement so I can get reassurance everything is ok!

Purple... Just got past my mark at 9 1/2 weeks when I had my missed miscarriage in October so I know how your feeling. Ksmom... I've been sick a lot earlier than with my dd and more severe. On Zofran since week 6? or I throw up... Seems to be getting a bit better now but all this extra saliva doesn't help! I did take Zofran with dd but not until week 13!

Yep went for blue. Not sure if symptoms really tell much but my sister was more sick with her ds1 and ds2 than with her middle dd. I think it tends to vary by person... Not putting too much stock in my symptoms.

Those who have girls may be interested in my friends pregnancies, she had two girls with relatively little morning sickness and she has also recently had a boy and had terrible sickness with him, vomiting and needing to go to hospital for fluids etc. Just goes to show having more m/s with girls isn't always true!
