Not sure if it has been done before...
As I'm sitting on my exercise bike doing my 60mins cardio as part of my girl sway, I'm thinking about how im doing this exercise alone, hubby in work friends not interested, I'm starting to lose the will power to continue, I have just missed 2 days doing my cardio.
I sure there are others who have been swaying a while doing cardio and losing the will too! So why don't we all come here and egg each other on daily!

Hi guys!

What type of exercise is everyone doing? I have been using my exercise bike but getting so bored with it now.

Weather is so bad just now, can't even get outside to go walks or anything.

Was thinking of trying some cardio videos from YouTube, anyone got any good recommendations?

I will have a look tonight and post any good ones that I come across x

I have been hopeless this last week. It's so cold here (1 degree!) that the thought of going on my cross trainer in the freezing cold garage is really unbearable!!! Cardio YouTube videos might be a good idea! Def post if you can!

Gonna research some Zumba, tae Kwon do and dance cardio videos! As much cardio as possible without including weights!

This is a great idea! I haven't begun exercising yet because I really lack the motivation. I really don't know if I can commit to 7 days a week but we're far enough out from TTC that I'm going to try and see how it goes. I don't have a machine (although thinking about investing in one!), no gym pass and walking outside is not an option (sidewalks are not plowed in my area) so I was thinking about a dvd or youtube. I might even make up my own plan with jumping jacks, burpees, running in place, air punches, etc. At least for some of the days.

Hi everyone! I would love to join in on this thread. I don't plan on ttc until end of summer, but I started exercising a few weeks ago. I have been alternating 60 minutes on the treadmill with a 60 minute Barre class - 6 days week. Is Barre ok? Or will it sway boy? It is mostly stretching and ballet moves, a few arm movements with 3 pound weights.

Hi all:bigsmile:everyone is welcome here!
I,m either doing cardio on my exercise bike of on my cross trainer trying for to do it each day but sometime it doesn't happen.
There was one day last week that I walked a mile up a massive hill to get home because my car was in the garage! Doing anything just to keep my heart rate raised for an hour!
Struggling with time to fit it in, we are redecorating our house and my eldest son is a Budding actor and is preparing for an upcoming production so things keep popping up all the time!

I do Zumba every Thursday morning when children are in school because my children's school offers free Zumba classes (such an amazing school) I cannot keep up with the routine I have no co-ordination lol but as long as you get your heart rate up your doing cardio and enjoying yourself having fun!

After a little while you do warm up my cross trainer is in my bedroom right now I'm wishing it was outside because by the time I finished 60mins even doing it slowly I'm sweating, If I was outside I'd start warming with a jacket on then take them off!
It has been cold here in the uk, but it was warm for so long running up to xmas its our long over due cold snap. It must be getting warmer soon though because my tulips, bluebells and daffodils are coming out fx!

That's amazing that your kids school does classes! Lucky you!! Other Mums at my kids school all head to the gym after school drop off, it's like a spandex fashion show haha!!!

Yep I've been going in the garage with four layers and gloves and hat on! Def should warm up soon I hope. It's half term so both boys off school and I'm seriously lacking motivation! My DH doesn't get home until 7:30pm by which time the bedtime madness is underway! Quite looking forward to getting back to the normal routine next week, I have to admit.....

Really struggled with that 60mins again today, yesterday I did an hour on the bike and I got a sore bottom, so today decided to do 30mins cross trainer then 30mins bike but ended up doing 25mins on the cross trainer then 35mins on the bike.
Don't know what wrong with me I was able to do 60mins on my cross trainer last week, maybe because I had a cold on the 2 days I missed ?
How has everyone been today?

Mine are still a bit young to do that plus the garage is quite far from the house so I can't hear them (try to kill each other!) I'm working this evening so I'll have to try and get to the park for a big run or speed walk with them. Not really ideal

Barre/ballet would sway blue IMO, as would treadmill every other day. I would be sure to do 60 min every single day on the treadmill, if possible! You don't have to drop the barre class if you do that.

I would really like to start exercising again. If I do it will just be 90-120 minutes brisk walking for 6w to prevent injury, then I'd switch to running for part of the time, working up to running it all the full time gradually. Maybe I'll add in pilates and or yoga once I have a good cardio foundation. I definitely will need motivation in the early days!

Haha that's me too! I've been swaying over a year now with a three month gap in between so it has become a lot easier. (I find the diet a lot harder work for me personally.). I speed walk on the treadmill 6 days a week and have Sunday off. I cycled in the summer which I'll probably do again if I'm still swaying and I've also tried doing the dance games on the wii. I take my iPad into the garage and watch tv on it while I'm walking so I'm not really thinking about what I'm doing. I'm lucky because I don't have any little ones to worry about as my youngest is 14!

I think I can add cardio to the days I have my Barre class. Does anyone know if we are suppose to up our calories if we are working out every day? Right now I am running 35 minutes and walking 25 minutes on the treadmill, but I would like to work my way up to running the whole 60 minutes. If I do this, I will be burning 800-900 calories.

Yes I think more calories are ok if you are exercising 6-7 days per week. Especially if you don't have a lot of weight to lose.

Yes, you do need more cals if exercising but do NOT go by what you think you burned, it doesn't work that way and you can't eat that many extra cals. You'd eat 200-500 more cals depending on your pre activity required cals, current height and weight etc and how much you've exercising. A 100 lb 5'3" woman might be at 1000 cals without cardio, 1500 if running 1-2 hours a day. But a different 100 lb 5'3" woman might need less if she has a slower metabolism. People burn up cals at widely different rates.

I want you guys to let weight loss be your guide here and NOT calories. If you're losing weight too fast (and this can vary) or cannot spare any more weight, up cals till weight loss stops. Don't worry about staying in LE Diet guidelines if you weigh 98 lbs, you HAVE TO STOP the weight loss.

The exercise has seemed more effective than the cal limits so I think that until data shows otherwise the right thing to do is exercise and eat more cals.

But DON'T sit around making calculations about "I burned X amount so I need to eat Y cals to lose weight at Z lbs a week" because trust me, as someone who's been thru about every iteration of diet and exercise over the past 3 decades, that doesn't WORK. It isn't the way they make it sound like some kind of simple algebra equation and I have many times, not lost weight eating barely anything and been very fit and slim eating 3000 cals a day :/

I have really been enjoying Pop Sugar exercise videos on You Tube. They do have musclebuilding ones to sift thru but there are at least a couple of dancy ones (which I have not tried because I am a klutz and not swaying pink so I want to build muscle.) Another thing to do is go ahead with the muscle building ones but do not use weights.

maidentomother
February 17th, 2016, 04:18 PM
My example was not aimed at afrevert! I just happened to pick those numbers. I hadn't read the last post.

I do generally recommend starting at higher cals then reducing them after a week or two if gaining weight, bc too many slender women lose weight too fast. Most slender women doing daily cardio should start at 1800 cals. 2000 if slender AND tall. I wouldn't start under 1800 if doing cardio. I just wanted to give an example of someone needing a 500 cal increase due to cardio. Another, better example would be a tall, slender woman with a fast metabolism running a lot; she might go from 1500 to 2000 cals.

Yes. You can't know your metabolic rate and no calculator can determine it for you. So eat enough and don't lose weight if you're already slim. When in doubt, eat more to begin with.

I've been speed walking/ running on the treadmill 6 days a week, 70 minutes. Vegetarian diet. Hoping to do 1 day of zumba and 5 days of running. What is helping me is this: 3 days of exercise 1 day off and 3 days of exercise in a week. It breaks it up so it's not so bad. Hoping eventually I can run 30-40 min nonstop and work my way up to running the whole 60 minutes. Will take some time. Ladies we can do this!

(Come on get up!) I know I will feel more energetic after!

I was stuck at 137lbs since before Xmas, Im finally budged under that mark, I have lost 2lbs in a week and a half now down to 135lbs ideal body weight for me is 121lbs so will not be getting anywhere near 89lbs

Hubby is home today, he has some days off because he will be losing his job soon! So I don't have to feel guilty about leaving my boys downstairs watching tv!

Can I join too? I could do with the support/motivation!

This thread made me giggle! I too am a UK garage exerciser. I got DH to put a telly up in there so I can watch it whilst on the treadmill. I'm trying to kid myself that it is 'me time' without my boys!!

Agree, the cold weather during this week's half term holiday has been soooo off putting where exercise is concerned! I am also an advocate of the four layers, parka, fleece gloves and hat and then fling things off as I go!

Dug out an old Rosemary Conley DVD and just did the cardio bits the other night. Been walking like a penguin ever since!! Blimey, it was a killer! I almost want to go back on the treadmill!

Wow thats really good! What is barre class?

I stole this quote from a fitness website:

"Most barre-based classes use a combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like yoga and Pilates. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements."

I really like the class! But to sure if I get enough cardio from it, so I did the treadmill for a little bit afterwards.

See I wish I could put some fat onto my bottom as I have none there! I have done my hour at the gym this am, didn't enjoy it and feeling sorry for myself today. I'm hungry and grumpy, stopped the pill a few days ago and started spotting yesterday which got heavier but then it stopped this am, this happened last month too and then I'll get my full period in a few days but I think the hormones are making me snappy, emotional and I feel a bit weak. But at least my exercise is done for the day :-) My Oh is up for me buying him an exercise bike so going to get that today and hope it decreases his sperm count in time, if that even works. Hope you all have a good day with exercise and eating, it's 11am here and I am so ready to eat something!

Hi chocolate , hope u feel better soon . I felt really crap this arvo, I was snappy and hungry. AF due soon ggrrrr, I think I ate too much for dinner too cause I was starving I had gluten free pasta about 125grms with mushrooms and Parma cheese , then I had a skinny cow icecream sandwich. Felt really guilty after it . I don't know if I should be eating too much pasta all I know is I love it. Its pretty low on protein and fat , sodium ok but very high carb.
Hi frilly lady I wish I could lose some of what I've got in my bra lol

Hi Faithinpink, I too am so hungry by meal times that my portions are bigger than usual, but then they are different to the fast food I usually grab.
Jennypenny, not long to go for your attempt, eek! Hope it's first time so you can get off the diet and exercise! I'll be ttc end of April which feels like ages away when I think about the exercise and food. Have been exercising and eating less since January but was taking lots of vitamins and eating high protein so going to give it another 8 weeks or so on the diet.
Although I had vegetable lasagne with carrot and swede mash for lunch and a banana at 11 as I was starving and out, and the veg and banana wasnt on my girl friendly list for Pcos but I'm still in my limits so not all is lost today. Looking forward to a glass of wine later :-) Just bought the exercise bike for Oh and need to order some heat pads to try and heat up his man parts lol.

I've been using a lot of low fat products and also weight watchers.

I did weight watchers before, so use myfitnesspal to record what I eat to get up to my limits in a way which is similar to the way I used weight watchers points system.

I use wholemeal pasta and rice, weight watchers brown bread, low fat cheese, wholemeal wraps etc and wine! Yeah!!

It always worries me that I'm eating too well, when I compare how I was eating on le.

But at least this way, I am actually losing weight as opposed bloating up like a big marshmallow like I was doing le diet!!

Do you stick to the Pcos groups? I'm having baked potatoes with vegetable oil and margarine for omega 3s, I worry brown carbs a bit too healthy for me so trying to eat potato or fruit/veg carbs but that's hard to meet calories so I may have a baked potato and veg for lunch and dinner, then strawberries and cream, and a Greek yoghurt. Cucumber or broccoli etc. As a side, I'm not into salads even with dressings so that makes it hard.

I use my fitness pal too but it's sneaky as it sticks to percentages and you have to pay extra to stick goals to grams, which I find easier, but it's fab for looking up amounts as so much of it is on there already

Evening ladies!

Just sat down for my pre run bowl of brown rice with light soy sauce. I'll be running for about an hour tonight. I did go a bit mad with my breakfast lunch - high protein and fat but within limits and extremely tasty!! I also had a cheat day yesterday, still skipped breakfast and did my exercise but I'm pretty sure a McDonald's doesn't fall within LE PCOS diet x

My fitness pal gives me totals in grams, and I do not pay extra. I have it tracking my calories, carbs, fat, protein, sodium, and sugars. Wonder why your's give you percentages only. Maybe it is a setting that needs to be changed?

I usually do my exercise in the morning, but we had a playdate scheduled today. I hope to make it to the gym either this afternoon or after dinner.

Is anyone finding it hard to meet the minimum requirements? I just started the diet Thursday. I have been skipping breakfast and stopped snacking completely. Since being on the diet - which hasn't been long, I have only met the calories requirement (1500) once. But even that day, my fat was 35g and my protein 35g. All the other days I have been in the 1100-1300 calorie range. Is this bad? Should I be making sure I'm getting 1500 calories per day? Especially since I am burning 600-700 calories on the TM. I am only eating two meals a day, but I get very full fast. I haven't been drinking wine....I think having a glass or two of wine at night would help me get some empty calories.

We plan on TTC in July/August. I am starting the diet now, but I know I will have some cheat weekends. We are going to Disney World next weekend, and my husband and I have trips planned to Austin in April and San Diego in June. I will still skip breakfast and no snacking while on vacation, but I will probably be relaxed on my meals.

Good luck to all the ladies getting ready to TTC!! Pink dust to everyone!!

Ah no sorry, I mean it does give me the totals in grams too, but you can't set your daily goals in grams, to the exact gram. You have to do it by percentages and that's hard to set it to the exact gram your looking at. Doesn't really matter as I can just look at the total grams as I go along and remember by memory my exact targets

Hi afrevert, yes I struggled meeting the calories whilst hitting the goals. I only started this week so am still jiggling things around, wine is a great way to add calories easily and enjoyably ;-) I traded in a piece of bread or pasta for a baked potato as they are good for calories. I also add vegetable oil to the skin to crisp it and some margarine on top. I can't offer too much help I'm afraid as I'm new to the diet too. It's a good job I have no going away plans as I couldn't help myself if away for a few days!

Cauliflower rice sounds like a good alternative, thanks.
Failed this am, it's my 1 day a week where my 3 year old doesn't have pre school so we go swimming and eat there. Just had 3 mini pancakes topped with quinoa, few blueberries and hazelnuts, yoghurt and a drizzle of maple syrup, soo yum! Better than a sausage bap or burger though which I'd usually have and is sort of girl friendly ish.

Chocolate - that doesn't sound like a fail at all?! I've just had a vegetable thai red curry for lunch with some sweet potato and feta style cheese post run. Pre run was some low fat Greek yogurt with a drop of agave nectar and two crumpets with some butter. I'm drinking a lot of coffee, taking fibre with most meals and doing 6 days a week of 55mins + cardio.x

Well I guess it's pretty close to the groups etc. I'm doing the Pcos one and taking metformin so not sure the maple syrup and white pancakes really fit it, but it was soo nice! Do you take the sachet fibre with water? I'm finding that I eat a big meal like a baked potato etc. And have a glass of water with my metformin and then a glass of the fibre mix and it makes me feel really bloated and yucky.

Finally joining you ladies regularly! I picked up an exercise bike this morning and did 20 minutes of cycling. Not long enough I know but I've realized that it probably won't be possible to do it with my 1 and 2 year old awake and in the room with me. I was hoping they would play around and watch TV but they were drawn to the bike and tried climbing on it while I was biking. So I gave up after 20 minutes. I think I'll try to do it in the evenings after the kids are in bed, around 8pm. Later than I would like but I'm thinking it will make me feel less guilty about plopping my butt on the couch as soon as they go to bed like I usually do. I'll try again in the morning another day, maybe the novelty of it will wear off and they will ignore me.

chocolate - I think the maple syrup is ok but the white flour pancakes, not so much. As a treat once a week or so though, I think it's ok! I'm on the PCOS diet as well and was looking forward to having white pancakes and waffles often. I love them! But I think as long as I stay within my limits for the day overall, pancakes once in a while isn't going to hurt. What are you using for fiber? I have to pick some up today and get started on it.

I'm hoping my Oh will put our bike together tonight, an hour is going to be a chore though and is much easier if the kids are in bed as they need something every 2 mins ;-) I don't think I have this Pcos Le diet sussed too well, have some principles of the usual Le diet ingrained in my mind so want to avoid nutritious whole grains and protein from meat. I'm Def. Feeling a bit weak and pathetic though eating this way etc. So I'm hoping that's a good sign. I am using fybogel as I think it hasn't got any added vitamins etc.

Getting back on it tonight!! No excuses. Naughty again last night, no exercise for me oops. Having it tonight though! Gearing up for a garage TM session with 'The Brits' on the telly. Be shakin my tush like the fifth member of Little Mix!

Diet been pretty good generally so at least I'm not a total failure!

Anyone got any motivational tips? My best trick is to put my exercise stuff on earlier than I need to. For such a lazy lump like me, even the thought of getting changed on these cold, dark nights is off putting. Squeezing myself into my lycra nice and early makes it harder to say no to exercise!!

Please share your motivational ideas ladies!

Chocolate, I'm taking fibre supplements in tablet form - psyllium husks. Haven't noticed any bloating problems. Might be worth a try if you can have these on PCOS diet? I used to use fybogel for IBS years ago. Not unpleasant tasting but can take a bit of chugging down!

Only managed 50 mins on the tm tonight, my feet hurt with every step. Been on them all day and they are throbbing as I sit here watching the Brits! I did have an hours walk with the dog though and did some gardening so I don't feel too bad. Now for the caulirice, it was ok but just ok not as nice as fresh. I had it with mushroom stroganoff and left half because I couldn't eat it on its own. If I have it in future I will mix it with something with a lot of flavour so it's not too noticeable.

Chocolate I'd definitely try the tablet form it's the only one that doesn't upset me, I use Chitosan from H&B. Got a lovely recipe for pancakes made with spelt flour if you're tempted.

Welcome Beau, 20 mins is a good start, bless your little ones but I bet it was funny!

You're doing great GlitterMouse try not to think about the excercise too much, when I do it gets me down a little. Hi Ladies! I was bad and didn't exercise last night. I could blame it on the weather - we were under a tornado watch in my neck of the woods, but that would just be a lie. I wasn't feeling it yesterday.

I did make it to the gym today. I did the stair master and the elliptical machine for a total of 65 minutes. I think I jinx myself my posting about how easily I get full. Now I am the complete opposite! The hardest part is skipping breakfast. I want to eat first time. If I can make it to 9:30-10:00am then I am good until noon.

Chocolate - I would worry to much about your cheat. As long as you kept it in the limits or close to, I think you are good. And even if you didn't, a cheat here and there isn't going to hurt anything.

Thank you everyone for being active on this board. It really does help me stay motivated!

Exercise whilst on period is horrible for me too, I've just done 50 mins walking on the treadmill and currently doing 15 mins on the bike. I used to run etc. And be very competitive with pushing myself so I've changed it to low key and no weights or pushing myself hard as I think it raises my testosterone. All the girlmums I know don't do exercise and aren't thin, about average but they don't seem to gain around the middle like I do. And they do seem to eat more carbs which they think are healthier like popcorn, rice cakes, crisp breads etc. But of course they aren't that nutritious, just low calorie.
Walking is probably the best exercise to not loose too much weight as I burn about 100 calories less now I've swapped to walking etc.

I'm not really sure on high intensity raising testosterone. I would guess no if it's just straight cardio. I'm thinking about doing a HIIT class once per week. It's 30 minutes long so I thought I could do 30 minutes on the bike immediately after on that day instead of 60 minutes.

Ditto chocolate! I know 3 girl moms and none of them do any exercise at all.

Beau82 - well done on the cardio! I'm doing mine this evening before work. The hitt followed by bike for 30mins would work, I've often "topped up" my exercise when doing classes.

My stomach is still feeling unsettled today :s sicky feeling and going to the loo lots, not sure what's going on/what's caused it. Doesn't help with exercise though but I will carry on regardless.x

Oooo does hard cardio exercise raise testosterone?? I'm running and cycling mostly but often do spinning and run to beat my times etc :s

I've just done an hour on the bike at the gym but not feeling great so didn't go hard at it. Messed up with my food today as well; I think I came apart with my first meal as seemed to use up all my protein despite not having any meat today at all but half a ball of mozzarella.x

Had a really fun "workout" today!

I found an old 90s/00s mix cd and went on the little fitness trampoline (as opposed to the kids huge one in the garden hahahaha!)

Time flew by as I bounced/danced away to steps and bewitched etc!! Looked ridiculous but it was good fun! :)

I ended up having quater of a cheese pizza and a handful of chips for my tea!!

Well I managed my 60 minutes of the bike but had a horrible day on the diet  I had a big muffin from the coffee shop, plus taters and chicken for lunch and then a Subway steak sandwich plus a bag of chips for dinner. Yikes! I didn't really snack otherwise and surprisingly am still under on fat and protein but still, way over on calories. Ugh I'm having a harder time than I thought I would trying to stay away from red meat.

Love the sounds of your workouts jenny! I don't know if I could keep up for a full hour though, lol. I might try something like that for 30 minutes and then just do 30 minutes on the bike. My bum is getting sore biking for 60 minutes each night!

Im sure I did read somewhere you should continue in tww but can't find where I read it

Yeah, you continue through 2ww. Think the 2ww is important to stay focused on diet also as this is the crucial implantation time and if you want a pinky to attach, it's good to keep focussed on your bodies maternal condition.

I have noticed that in a lot of successful sways( I enjoy studying them and bookmark them on my kindle!! Obsessed much??!) lots of successful swaying people mention weight loss in the 2ww. I am going to try to really stick to exercise and diet hard, to keep blood sugar low in 2ww.

I try to always remember though, that I have read absolutely 'perfect' sways, and have seen them fail too though.(really hate using that word in terms of a baby!)

For me, it's all about having no regrets, whatever the outcome. Would hate to look back and say, I wish I had done this or that!!

Wow girls, everyone is doing so well!

I've had a good week, after my rocky start! Ran 7 miles on the TM, two nights on the run. My toes were so sore last night, I had to have the night off... and wine!! Bit rough this morning but hoping to do something later on.

Jennypenny, I think you may be onto something with the mini trampoline. A v.v small case study but a friend of mine is PG with a girl after two boys and I know that she was bouncing on one of those and running on a treadmill before conceiving! Gutted as I told DH to take mine to the tip just after Christmas!! There are loads of workouts you can follow on Youtube for the mini trampoline. Ridiculous but I might have to re-buy one!!!

Jennypenny sounds like you are a bit of an expert when it comes to studying successful sways! Can I pick your brains? Would you say that majority are including caffeine or avoiding it? What are you and everyone else on here doing regarding caffeine?

jennypenny
February 27th, 2016, 07:56 PM
I love reading sways!! Get so excited when somebody posts a new one, I'm just really nosy haha!!

I would say most people are including coffee in sways from the last few years, don't think there is an apparent reason for this but is something that has been in majority of successful sways.

I am a coffee drinker anyway, so it is something I will include. My husband however did not drink coffee until recently, so it will be something different for him when ttc. No doubt just getting all his blue swimmers buzzing with caffeine lol! His one or two girl swimmers will have Will have to fight hard! Haha x

I've added it in. I didn't drink an ounce of coffee when I conceived my boys so I feel like it is a good plan for me. I'm really enjoying it with vanilla caramel creamer! I also read that creamer sways a little more pink than milk.

Beau82
February 27th, 2016, 10:16 PM
I have a question regarding sways too Jenny! I read them and then get discouraged when I see ones that didn't result in a girl. Maybe I should read boy sways that resulted in girl, haha. Anyway, thoughts on OLE for DH? Anyone else having hubby take it?

jennypenny
February 28th, 2016, 03:53 AM
Yeah my husband is taking ole too :)

Although at the moment he is really run down and getting stomach cramps, going to try a few days of him not taking it to make sure it's not this that has been doing it!! He is taking painkillers at the moment also as he had shoulder surgery a few weeks ago. Hope it's not the ole causing it though, as I would like him to take it.

I am also getting him to take licorice root for first 2 weeks of cycle, think the results at the moment are not showing anything amazing for it and less and less people are including it. But, at the moment we will try it (if not successful first month this will probably be dropped)

Anyway, there are also lots of successful sways where husband has not done or taken anything at all!! X

I don't drink tea or coffee but alot of the girl mums I know have a couple of coffees a day, maybe that in turn makes them eat less/less often so I'm going to add in a coffee twice a day with sweetener as I don't like the bitter taste, but I do like the smell. I think I read about Pcos people avoiding caffeine as it can raise sugar levels but I'm going to swap to caffeine free diet coke.

I didn't drink coffee much either with my two boys. I am known as a 'tea belly' in my family and have always drank tons. I've given it up more or less completely so hoping that will sway for me. I'm drinking it black as much as a can and put a canderel sweetener in it. Its not too bad a bit sweeter! I use skimmed milk in it when I have a coffee with my meals, although wondering if I need to get some creamer now? Is creamer powdered milk like coffee mate?

Hi 2lovelyboys, it's great to have some other ladies to chat too :-) Maybe we should start a March group to chat in about everything? The hour was a challenge for me too, but I tend to save the bike for the last half an hour which means I also get to browse online, order the food shopping online etc. Which helps as kills 2 birds with 1 stone :-) Or if I'm at home I get out the exercise bike and treat myself to some recorded TV so it doesn't feel too bad. I've had 2 days off the exercise and haven't done the diet so need to get back on it tomorrow. All my yucky rice and veg. Is being delivered tomorrow for my diet so I will then have no excuse :-( I don't know how girl mums seem to eat such bland boring food, I must be super sensitive to craving fatty or sugary food! Hope everyone had a good weekend

Exercise didn't go as well as i hoped 2day, my 2 youngest weren't playing ball grrrrr think i will be using the gym for my exercise as someone always wants me for something wen at home.

I think weight loss and nicer weather motivate me, would like to lose some (ok a lot) b4 the summer :)

I think i will have an attempt in May, then not sure after that. My DS3 was a "failed" sway altho i would never be without him. Wen i swayed last time i remember the ideal months for me to ttc were Mar-May, i think any sooner i won't have been on the diet long enough. Might attempt in June and following months if BFN in May but all depends on exercise, weight loss and diet. just gonna play it by ear i think and try not to obsess.

Easter eggs are the best form of chocolate, may have to buy 1 and stash away for hopefully when I'm pregnant ;-) I'm just doing my 60 mins at the gym, 27 mins to go ;-)

Not sure about if it has to be a minimum of 60 mins all the time or just as long as you do one set of 60 mins a day and then the other ones are still OK.

I'm finding a coffee first thing is helping me not feel hungry and helping me do my work out, I've got about 8 weeks until the start of my cycle that I ttc, can't wait to be at that point! Going to be extra good those 2 weeks before and after

Wine on the menu sounds good to me! After doing my hubby's and childrens foods I am not often in the mood to make myself anything, I have been eating the Birdseye bags of rice and pasta, just pop the in the microwave.
With a yohurt or icecream and some sweets after I'm full! And the rice and pasta taste quite nice, especially the mediterranean flavour ones! Sometimes I add a bit of salmon or chicken!

I've done 25 mins on the cross trainer and 35 on the bike but very low speeds though, will crank it up the month of ttc. I'm finding it very hard to get enough calories and don't want to exercise hard and loose too much weight now as haven't got much to loose.
I'm finding I'm analysing all the girl mums I know too!
Currently doing my cardio while chatting to you all! 22 mins into it!

I have been looking into the people I know who have girls too, and the only 3 I knew close enough to know what they were upto, on ate loads of chocolate, macdonalds, takeaways, smacked all the time and drank sports, never exercised, another ate low calories meals I often caught her just eating a bowl of broccoli, cheese sauce and a small amount of bacon but again no exercise and walked no more than I did!
The 3rd would be an 86 year old who I take shopping she was the only girl and she only had one girl, never exercised, but it was around the time of the war food was scarce, but ate lots of oranges, Walked everywhere though!

I must be a strange one as I quite like the dark rye ones tastes best when you fill the dimples with butter! Others I don't like though

Beautifulrainbow, maybe I should try it with butter! I usually love it with cheese so may just be the houmous ruining it. Going to have wholemeal pitta today filled with salad, a bit of cheese and mayo, I can happily eat that for lunch. Just dislike the rice and pasta part of the diet

At the back of my mind I'm thinking if I get a bfp this month, it would be able to eat Easter eggs!!!
I would literally go and buy a crate of cream eggs and a bucket mini eggs and lock myself in a room! Drooool X

Well done! Glad my exercise is over for the day too. Just bought the kids some mini cakes with a mini egg of top, so jealous! However, this diet may make me more appreciative of what I can usually eat so maybe I'll make better choices once off the diet and treats will become more like a treat and not a daily occurrence! Think my first meal will be cheesy chips though

I wonder if it's because red wine has more health benefits. Basically my diet is consisting basically of coffee with sweetener, diet coke and white wine, with a little bit of brown rice or pasta/bread thrown in lol.

I think you should definitely have a cream egg!! Get it out your system. Lock yourself in a quiet room and really take your time eating it lol!!!

My MIL was round for dinner last night and I ended up eating 3 (smallish) slices of cheese pizza and 3 little mini eggs!

I was convinced that I had gone way over, but I was ok! High end of calories but not too bad. I didn't have wine so that obviously gave me some wiggle room.

I keep seeing gorgeous girly Spring outfits out the corner of my eye in shops!! I walk around them like a bomb though lol!! Could just imagine going over and looking at one and my mum or a school mum walking past! No doubt feeling sorry for me grrr!!

Oh and just tried the new popcorn tactics, I know they are now pcos friendly but I couldn't just have one!

I'm quite enjoying coffee now with added sweetener, bit worried I won't be able to give it up but won't want to stay using sweetener, but also don't want to drink it with sugar!
I'm terrible with the diet but I know it's the crucial part. Had some pancakes after swimming with my son this morning, came with yoghurt, maple sauce and hazelnuts. Have done my exercise after though so hopefully that will lower levels and will aim for a plain rice or pasta dinner. Really dislike the Pcos diet, Im not sure I'll be able to stick to it. I had netflix on my phone so it made time go quicker, then did 15min on the bike, was on a roll, enjoyed it tho :)

I have been starving all week, last night i went WAY over on everything altho remained veggie. I had large Jacket potato and loads of cheese, washed down with a bottle of wine, oh dear lol but i enjoyed it :)

I had a really nice veggie bake thing from Aldi with veg for my first meal!!!

We have sunshine here now too but gusting quite a bit! Well done on the exercise ladies, it's not always easy squeezing it in is it?!

I feel the same about looking at girls clothes :( doesn't help that my mum is desperate for a grand daughter, she often makes comments like "oh but I'll never have a grand daughter to buy those things for" etc. Makes me feel worse, and guilty, although she doesn't mean it like that but I still feel rubbish for it.x

Looks like we've done well on the exercise front today :-) Gosh that really sucks saying that about never buying for a grand daughter, imagine how it must feel for you!! I find it so very hard when people make comments about no girl and oh wouldn't you like a daughter, it sends me right back into bad gender desire. Luckily it doesn't happen often now but it's something I need to deal with again once pregnant as it will probably be said everytime I see family. Maybe I should say that I'm hoping for a girl and hope people then are sympathetic and don't say much?
I'm going to have some micro brown rice in low sodium gravy later for dinner. Feeling a bit depressed about my dinner today lol.

30mins walk/jog on TM then 45mins on bike. It wasn't my bum that was uncomfortable on the bike it was my feet, they kept going numb and i was getting pins and needles. anyone else get that? i haven't really been monitoring calories but have been under this week then with the exercise i feel dreadful, lower cals and increased exercise is gonna take some getting used to, have had a bag of jelly babies and feeling a bit better

Definitely going to do exercise in mornings from now on. Feels so nice to know I don't still have it to do this evening!

Just ate a very depressing dinner of wholemeal spaghetti and a little scoop of the bolognese sauce the rest of the family were having with their meatballs.

I didn't even finish it was so disgusting. My appetite has totally vanished after this 12 weeks on the diet!! I think I will struggle going back to eating red meat, it no longer appeals to me that much.

Will gladly get back to eating chicken though!!

Tonight's dinner for me was wholewheat pasta with a tablespoon of green pesto sauce and some sliced pepper and a small amount of feta cheese on top. Finished it off with some Greek yogurt, a kiwi and an apple. Quite enjoyed it actually, getting used to the lack of refined sugars - I certainly seemed to have broken my addiction to them!

I originally started the diet and exercise back in September but then dh wasn't having any of the ttc talk and Christmas came along so it went a little by the way side, although I have been skipping breakfast since then. Restarted it again properly at the start of February with the hope of perspiring dh to ttc from April!!

Hi all, and we done all!
I couldn't get on here yesterday, this site wouldn't work for me :hair: but I did do just over 60mins on my bike, thanks to coming on here with you peeps I think it's getting a bit easier now I could go on for longer than 60mins now!
As I couldn't get in here I was search the web and it's funny I found a few forums where men were discussing what they did to get a girl! thought it was just us women who worried lol

2lovelyboys: I was the same with food yesterday, went out for a Mother's Day meal with the old lady I take shopping, and have not been drinking alcohol either, I'm not usally a drinker in the evenings, I'm a drinker when I go out, so struggling to keep that up. I started on the ig diet April last year, then I found this site and found they were getting better results with their LE diet so tweeked it to LE then I found out I have pcos in September and started to change my diet to the pcos diet, now following it loosely taking a more laid back approach,
When I started in April last year I was 76kg/12st/ 168lbs and now I'm around the 60kg/9st6lbs/132lbs mark

3sac'harm: how are you feeling now?((((hugs)))).
I wouldn't have exercised either if I was feeling as Ill as that! Hope you feel better soon, and fx crossed spring summer comes soon!

Yum,I couldn't say no to a desert parlour either!

I think being ill sways too so I'd take it easy so you recover better.

I went to bed early and woke with energy so have done my 60 mins on the bike.

I'm going to have to follow the Pcos diet loosely too as I just can't do the eating rice and pasta thing, makes me miserable and cranky and feel ill looking at the plate of it :-( Having wholegrain toast and butter for lunch and a sneaky apple pie but figured that it's just apple, sugar and pastry so nothing healthy and I need a slight sugar pick me up as I feel the effects of low sugar before lunch and get the shakes. I think the metformin may be doing a bit too much of a good job bringing the levels down.

It's nice and sunny here which helps, hope you all get some sun too :-)

Yeah I'm really not up to much so just chilling now but hoping to feel better for tomorrow, really don't want to miss 3 days of cardio:/ I'm not looking to start ttc until April at the earliest so not sure being ill now will especially help me but maybe with the whole health and egg being matured etc...

Chocolate - I have to say, once you break the habit of having sugar, the symptoms subside as I always used to suffer with the shakes and extreme hunger but whenever I've pushed through and cut sugar out, I feel so much better for it.

So what's everyone's sway tactics? I've been skipping breakfast since September, I did le pcos around that time although not strictly and that went by the wayside with Christmas etc but restarted it beginning of Feb. Cardio again I started in September but been much stricter with it since Feb and dropped most of my weight sessions in the gym. I'm taking fibre when I remember it, 1200mcg folic acid daily, aiming to go more vegetarian but I'm not making it an absolute. With my boys, I was typical boy mum, competitive, eating loads of red meat/high protein, working out regularly but not especially cardio and certainly not more than 4 times per week! I charted, did opks, lots of attempts in fertile window and hips up on a pillow with prenatals for at least 3 months before hand!! Everything to optimise conception!!

This lifestyle is very different for me and I'm noticing I'm more chilled generally too so hopefully it's all having a positive impact.x

2lovelyboys
March 4th, 2016, 12:47 PM
3'sacharm, i hope you feel better tomorrow. I was also a typical boy mum, i swayed with DS3, altho vegetarian (which is a big change) i think i went over on protein and i think my blood sugar was higher than it should have been. With DS1 & DS2 i was also on the prenatal, being mega healthy lol, i lead a very boy lifestyle.

I have started introducing the diet this week along with cardio, i have always skipped breakfast so thats not a problem, i have started drinking black coffee and diet coke. I haven't decided on supplements yet, still reading up on them. Will probably get a personal plan closer to the time. At the moment my main focus is diet and exercise (weight loss), think getting to grips with the diet can be tricky

Frilly Lady

1hr done on TM. I don't know why but I find Friday a hard day not to cheat but so far so good.

Chocolate I don't think I'm totally following pcos diet, to tell you the truth I don't fully understand it. I know I have to do wholegrain, full fat dairy and low sugar but apart from that I'm not sure. The thing that I'm really struggling with is not eating chocolate, didn't realise what a chocoholic I am!

My sway - pcos diet, I don't eat meat, haven't eaten it since early teenage years, I've cut out fish but I eat prawns on a Saturday. Excercise for 1hr 6 days a week. No snaking or breakfast, fibre and folate. I drink coffee to keep me feeling full but I'm allergic to caffeine so its only decafe which I don't think counts. I can easily hit my fat target but never reach calories or protein so might do alcohol to add more calories.

I know I will have a cheat on Mothering Sunday surely it's allowed right? It's going to be the first Mother's Day I won't have both boys with me as my oldest is at uni, although I'm looking forward to a lovley long and lively chat with him.
Hope all you mums have a lovely day on Sunday X

Swaying is hard I wont lie , but at the end of the day I've gotta try .
Good luck on your journey!!! And welcome xx

Currently doing 60mins cardio, feeling down some old feeling starting to creep back up!
My hubby might already have a daughter with someone else, long story she refuses to do a dna test or let him see the girl as long as he stays with me, he refuse to see the girl because he doesn't know if it is his (she was sleeping around)
So I felt a grudge against my husband when I found out 6 years ago, I let it go! but now with all ttc again and it not happening, it's all coming back....
How can he sleep with someone just a handful of times, drinking bad lifestyle on both parts etc (her not long given birth to another girl when it happened) when I have only had boys why can't I have a girl, give my sons a much wanted sister!
A girl to play with makeup with, fashion ideas, playing with hair, to go shopping with a life long friend, I would cherish her!
I get he feeling sometimes that my hubby doesn't care because he may already have a daughter!
Sorry for ranting!

I'm so sorry beautiful rainbow, that must feel so so difficult for you. You obviously have a very strong relationship with your husband and lovely little family with your boys.

Hopefully someday, the girls mother will allow a dna test to be done. It seems very cruel to leave you and your family in limbo!

I truly hope you get your girl this time. I can totally relate to the dreams of having a daughter, it would be so lovely to raise a child into womanhood and have another female in the house.

Some days it can be difficult putting faith into swaying as I sometimes feel I am setting myself up for a fall! More so than if I just conceived without any swaying at all!!

Fx for us all!! Hope we all get some pink squishy babies soon!!! X

Sorry to hear about that beautiful rainbow, it sucks. My hubby was only ever bothered about having a boy, we have two (lost one along the way) so he's happy. I actually said to him recently that if we'd have had two girls, we would not be arguing over having another one - his response was no actually, it would be the other way round!!!! So he knows damn well how he'd feel if he were me. He's still yet to be persuaded entirely round to the idea, but I'm coming off my pill in April and that will be down to him if he doesn't want a pg lol!

Had another awful day diet wise yesterday so that was a complete write off unfortunately, bit too frequent in the last week so need to start afresh!!! I just hope I haven't done too much damage in that respect to any potential sway... I'm still far from 100% but i am going to head down to the gym in a bit and do some gentle cycling and walking, no running yet while my chest is still bad.

What do you ladies do for sweet treats on the pcos le diet?? I keep having little cheats in the last week (mainly since being ill)? I usually have a nakd bar as they make me feel less guilty, iust looking for more ideas though x

Hour done on TM but had a really bad weekend food wise and today also but I know I'll get back on track.
Fingers crossed for a bfp jennypenny.
3sacharm I have the nakd bars too as I have a real sweet tooth. I also have low sugar gluten free rich tea biscuits, they are not pcos friendly but they stop me from cheating big time. Would also like some ideas on sweet treats too.

Thank you frilly lady!! Not rude at all, it's so lovely to read! My boys are 4 and 6. Without wanting to sound rude, can I ask if your eldest is straight?? Not that it makes any difference, but I certainly know neither of my brothers were like that with my mum, but then she had me, although I'm the youngest! Just interested to know if that kind of relationship is associated more with a son who's more afite or gay, or whether straight lads can have those kind of relationships with their mums too. I am so close to my youngest at present and it breaks my heart to think of him slipping away as he gets older, no longer having any interest in me :(

Hours exercise done for today on the bike, took it easy though!x

Hi everyone, glad to hear others have been 'off the wagon' this weekend! I cheated majorly on Mother's Day, breakfast, chicken, chips, ate sweets all afternoon... and no exercise. Back on it this morning, did 76 mins on TM. Its still really helping imagining you all exercising too!

Can I ask, how are you feeling in yourselves whilst doing the LE/PCOS diets and exercise. Have to say, I am soooo fatigued, lacking in energy and my mood is quite down. I have always been a sociable person but I can feel my self- confidence slipping away. My kids are young, I don't get much sleep, my job is stressful. I'm not sure whether I feel down due to the stresses of life, the LE diet or a combination of the two?

Does anyone out there feel like me? Can anyone offer any words of encouragement? xx

Sorry you're feeling down beautifulrainbow and you rant away. I'm sure we all feel down at some point I know I certainly do. I don't know how old your children are all you lovely ladies but I just feel I need to say something I hope you won't take it as being rude or anything, band let me tell you I've spent many many years wanting a daughter too. My oldest is 19 now and is at uni, we are very very close and spent nearly an hour talking on the phone yesterday and sent me lovely pictures and messages throughout Mother's Day. We've had pedicures together, he's sat at the hairdressers with me while I get my hair done and vice versa, spent many an hour clothes shopping for both of us, (it's amazing how many mums you meet in the men's changing room all having a great laugh!) He's sprawled on my bed many an evening while I try on clothes for a special day, telling me what I should wear and then going through my jewellery choosing what matches. Been to concerts and out to brunches, laughed and cried over girlfriends and drunken nights out! Just because he's a boy hasn't stopped me doing the things we often think of as "girly" (oh how I hate that word), not sure what I would have done different if he was a girl and I now have my youngest to do all this with too, although he's more of a geek so it's going to be techi days out! This is what eases my pain when I have bad days I hope it may ease yours too. Xxx

Thank you for sharing this Frilly. Your post was so uplifting to read. I live in hope that I will have this kind of relationship, or any kind of close relationships with my sons as they grow older. I lived my life being regularly told 'a daughter's a daughter all your life, a son is a son until he finds a wife'. I have a sister and no brothers. All my cousins are girls. I'm not sure the influential women in the family realised how damaging this would be to those of us girls that grew up to have sons and no daughters. It is a legacy I wish I had not been left. As I get older, I realise that a mother-daughter relationship isn't always a given, although of course I still want to give it a try! I feel the world has changed since my upbringing in the 80's. These days girls are just as likely to get a top job and move away. Also, not all of my female friends have great relationships with their Mums... I think you hit the nail on the head when you described how you have always had an open relationship with your boys. I think the freedom to say anything and be anything in the safety of your own home will keep your kids coming back.

Sending hugs beautifulrainbow xx Hope you're feeling a bit brighter today? Your situation sounds difficult and upsetting and his ex could really help you with this. Surely her daughter should be able to live knowing who her father is and him her? Very sad for everyone. I hope she sees sense and allows the dna test so you can all move forward. In the meantime, take good care of yourself and do small things that make you happy. I think the LE lifestyle takes its toll to a degree. I find it comforting to know its having an impact but at the same time we are under a certain amount of pressure to succeed-the stakes are high! Thinking of you hun x

Sooooo hungry today!!!

Have been home all morning as ds2 is a bit unwell. So tempting to snack when I am home, I think in the past I basically snacked morning, noon and night!!

Will leave exercise until later, ds2 just wants to cuddle on the couch. Definitely feeling the fittest I ever have felt now!! (As in being able to run for a long time-not thinking I look gorgeous lol!!)

I have my next attempt tomorrow, was getting dull cramps feelings yesterday so may be ovulating earlier than usual this month. I suppose the beauty of every 4days is not stressing about positive opks, but it's tempting to throw in an extra attempt!

As it's just my first month ttc, I will stay with the planned schedule!

Glittermouse I felt so drained when I started the diet, really tired and not my usual self at all. I haven't been sticking to the Pcos diet though and feel better. Keep meaning to get back on track but am dreading feeling so tired and miserable again. Haven't been going massively off track but had a couple of spoonfuls of the kids bolognaise last night and a small bit of garlic flathead, then had a vegie burger in a roll and polished off half a bottle of wine!!
Had a white baguette with a bit of chicken and mayo in it today for lunch and a few Ferrero Roche, need to kick the chocolate grabbing habit I have as I am automatically going for it when I feel tired. I know I'm supposed to feel tired etc. But it's tough with 3 kids. I keep telling myself that surely girl mums eat a baguette when out sometimes or have a chocolate Biscuit, wrong attitude ;-)
Done my exercise today and yesterday, so back on track with that. Hope everyone is doing ok

I do that too chocolate! I tell myself that everybody eats biscuits with a coffee, boy and girl mums lol!!

I also like to watch what the girl mums are eating at our mother and toddler group I go to. I feel like I am always secretly grilling them on their lifestyles haha!! Especially the mum who has just had a girl after 2 boys!! She says she did absolutely nothing different (she is probably about 2-3 stone heavier though when conceiving her girl) X

Bet they think I'm a weirdo haha X

I'd love to ask all the mums of girls about what they ate etc. I do notice though that my friends who have girls tend to have no pull towards fast food or high fat/salt foods. They tend to eat more balanced meals and not end up pigging out, maybe they have more self control or just less of a desire for high fat foods etc.

i am such a snacker 2, am struggling to get back on track this week after a bad weekend. I didn't realise what a sugar addict i am, last week i was really craving it after being good with no cheats all week, maybe i know to expect it i will be more prepared next time...
i am terrible for analysing girl mums, has become a habit but now i know about swaying i find it all so interesting :)
jennypenny i can't wait to feel fit like that, its hard work getting there but i know will be worth it in the end

I used to not eat breakfast and then grab a sugary treat in a cafe mid morning or something rubbish like a sausage sandwich etc. Then have something mid afternoon and then a small evening meal the size of a child's portion. So atleast this diet is teaching me to eat better and when I cheat it's actually a much healthier cheat than what I used to have. And I actually quite like toast and butter now where as I didn't before and I'll Def. Appreciate just having a simple sandwich with a bag of crisps and fruit for lunch in the future and maybe 1 Biscuit mid afternoon! I think my cravings go hand in hand with my hormones and I do end up having a mini breakout of spots which ties in with the hormones and eating bad food. Tonight my kids are having pasta in a creamy tomato sauce with a crunchy topping so I may just have a small portion of that.

I have a bigger appetite than my husband! It's a wonder that im not obese!!

I would eat, big bowl of cereal and coffee, coffee and biscuit mid morning, sandwiches, crisps something sweet for lunch, coffee mid afternoon, Big dinner with bread also, snacks throughout the evening!!! What a big muncher!!!

Totally going to try to stop this type of eating when I get back to normal again and when I hopefully get pregnant.

Swaying has definitely allowed me have a good look at my diet and fitness!!
