Case in point, I was going to start
Today since I'm cd 12 but I honestly forgot. I could do one tomorrow but I'm a nurse with barely any time to go to the bathroom so that probably won't happen, lol.
Are you due in January then? My sister is due January 29 and we had her baby shower today :)

Thank you :(
We're going to IVF with PGS. Two REs had already recommended it before this loss because the only theory left is there is some sort of chromosomal thing we're missing or, conversely, my body is TOO good at getting pregnant and I'm missing some sort of mechanism (look up "hyperfertility").
We have a consult out of state at the end of the month for a clinic much cheaper than anyones by us, which is stil a lot of stress, but it's about the only thing we have left. This was absolutely my last time naturally -- my DD was apparently a fluke and I feel guilt everyday for all the things I thought when pregnant because of the grief I've had since. Each loss has taken me to a darker place, so I need to move to HT. Now set in the fears I won't get a boy even then ;(

Mummy hoping like Pbn said that you're not out yet this cycle!!!!!
Greydore yay for O coming!!!!!
Ok maybe dumb question but DH has had a bad cold the past several days. He's mainly taking Mucinex & cough syrup and he's trying not to take too much since our we're ttc. I'm probably about 10 days out from O - the meds/him being sick shouldn't affect our chances, right? I'm sure it's a silly Q I just don't want anything to mess up our chances this cycle!! Hopefully he'll be better and off the meds in a few days!

I personally do twice a day with the wondflo tests (cheap but good) a few days before I kind of expect I’ll ovulate and keep going until I get my positive. I do it twice a day because we can miss the LH surge otherwise and I don’t wanna do that lol

Thanks for checking up on us all PBN, it means a lot that somebody out there is so interested in sharing our journey.
5 dpo today and I'm hoping to hold out on testing until the weekend which will be 10dpo. Praying my work week goes fast! I'm just still so relieved that my chart is looking 'normal' this cycle. Last cycle scared me that my body didn't know how to do this whole thing!

Girlswaylondon personally I'd recommend 1pm and 7pm for testing twice (always test at least once between 1-2pm). Avoid testing with fmu, smu or tmu. Wait until at least 11am if you prefer to test earlier but afternoon/evening is by far the most common times to see a pos opk :) Try and limit your fluids for 2-3 hours prior to testing, sip only to wet your thirst and try and hold for 2 hours prior. That should enable you to get an accurate result :)

Just had some light spotting. I've never been so happy to see it. Here's to hoping AF starts soon. I am thinking since this is our last cycle before ivf egg retrieval we give it our all. I think I might dtd 5 days in a row maybe even twice on day of o too. Why the heck not righr? Honestly at this point we just want a healthy baby. I'd be crushed if it wasn't a girl. Maybe bc I am doing Clomid and LIGHT pcos LE that will counteract the freq dtd...

This is such a sweet comment. I do have a therapist I see regularly (sometimes 2 or 3 times a week now, ack!) -- I wouldn't have been able to get through my pregnancy with DD without her, too! How foolish I feel to have thought THAT was despair... sigh.
I do have a thread under General Swaying Discussion called "Not Pregnant -- ME?" I tend to keep updating (and what an idiot -- I didn't get pregnant ONE Month in all of this and I thought that was an issue. Now I feel like I have to lock up my husband lest he put another loss on me... although I know it's not his fault, it takes two to tango!).
If I do truly end up going through IVF which I think I just need to force myself through at this point, I'll probably post a Cycle Diary in the HT forums, too.

Tp going to find your thread and sub in. I'm so happy to hear you do have a therapist [emoji3]
Robin I know it seems like the more you dtd the more chance you have of getting pregnant but honestly that many attempts in lead up to o runs a high risk of dh simply not having the stamina to see it through at the crucial point or even worse there'll be little to nothing left in the sperm tank right when there needs to be. Eod keeps sperm at optimal health but sways blue [emoji53] Maybe consider trying e3d instead (so two full days between bd's) and then decide whether to add one extra attempt at go time to up your odds? At the end of the day you need to do what you think is best, I just wanted to give that little bit of input about too frequent bding [emoji173]
BBB I cannot wait to see what your temp does this afternoon (my time)!!! You mentioned you don't usually experience af cramping?? Hoping this means something other than af is going on [emoji120][emoji120][emoji120] Af would be due bang on tomorrow by lp right?

Oh no!!!!! Not that dreaded pimple [emoji22][emoji22] well I simply wont give up until d-day! Your temps are looking great so far (and higher than last cycle). If af is coming we really should see a drop in temp over the two days. Do you always experience a steady decline in temp like last cycle? Or can they also sray elevated until af starts/finishes (can only see up to last cycle in ff)

This is today at 5 pm. Sorry for the crap picture, plus the test itself is faint (probably because these are cheap Walmart tests). But this test looks more negative than the one yesterday- is it possible I had a surge last night? Or caught the tail end of the surge when I tested yesterday afternoon?
I definitely had O pains yesterday, when do you usually ovulate in relation to those pains? It doesn't help my temps are all over the place.

Nowmarriedgirl - do you have a FRER or other sensitive test? If so and if you're 9 dpo, I would test tomorrow!! Lots of people get their BFPs at 10 dpo.
Greydore - hmmm yea that one yesterday did look darker.... I don't know, I gave up with the non-digital OPKs b/c I could never get a test line that was as dark as the control line. I also think that I have a short LH surge b/c often when I get a 1 or 2 pm positive OPK, it will be negative by the time I test later that night. That said - it takes me awhile it seems to actually O after that surge. But anyways - point is, every one is different but that could have been your surge yesterday if you like me, just can't get an equally dark line even during surge. Did you get an attempt in yesterday or within the past couple of days just in case?

Greydore eod (every 48 hours) can be a great way to sway blue with timing/frequency if you's can keep it up. I'd say from cd8 or cd10 through to after sustained temp rise would cover you. No need to worry about opks doing it that way.

Nowmarried girl, yea, sorry - too many acronyms :) First Response seems to be the best at picking up early BFPs - if they don't have it see if they have a test that says "test 5 days earlier" or something like that - should be more sensitive.
Can all you Clomid ladies tell me what symptoms you had/have while on it? I don't feel like I'm having anything too bad but I do feel more moody and bloated/slight discomfort in my lower abdomen. These are normal symptoms, yea? I just took day 4 dose a little while ago.

Greydore same exact thing happened to me this week I had a slightly dark opk then the next day next to nothing (both were negative regardless) but I put it down to barely drinking anything that day I got the darker one, my urine must have been super concerntrated!

Did anyone get implantation blending? I had pink when I wiped yesterday morning and then pink again this morning. I’m either 10/11 dpo. Did a cheap test and it was negative. Hoping implantation but then part of me is like maybe I’m starting early. But it’s a different spotting that af.

Girlsway you haven't ovulated yet then? My temps are all over the place so I really don't know if I have yet or not. I think we are just going to stick to BDing regularly, because the opk's might drive me crazy, haha. If we don't get pregnant in a few months then maybe I'll buy the digital ones. Hey guys. I'm CD6 (still bleeding, as well) but had been feeling really nauseated still and my nipples were pretty intense today. I got this at my usual weird "midday urine," it was definitely purple/pink -- but temps are very obviously not preg. Do I chalk this up to some hcg hanging around? I'm going to call tomorrow. But I have a feeling they won't take me seriously. If this is a vanishing twin... I actually had a strong feeling this was twins, and had intense ovulation pain from both sides.
But tests aren't getting darker -- they went negative when I started bleeding, and then I didn't test until today when I noticed my symptoms were stronger the last two days. But if this was a surviving twin, shouldn't temps have gone up or test be darker? I'd be 18 or 19DPO right now.

Tp this is just one of those things we just don't know. No matter how scientific we can break things down to, there are always exceptions to the rules. If your tests were negative when you started bleeding this would indicate a new pregnancy. So whether two eggs were fertilised and one simply didn't implant properly until after the other failed to??? Anything seems possible. I just hope so much this has a positive ending. I will be quite literally holding my breath while awaiting the outcome [emoji173]

Technically no. I DTD weds , then got a Pos OPK on thurs evening and Friday morning, DTD Friday, (attempt at pos OPK) then I think I ovulated around Saturday , then Dtd again Monday. So maybe the one attempt at positive OPK will be girl friendly but Tbh I lost interest in “swaying” - I changed my lifestyle a fair bit compared to what it was when I conceived DS but this only is my second child so I wasn’t too concerned this time around about the sex. I wasn’t too keen to lower my fertility more etc and wanted to just be pregnant, and I guess fingers crossed on girl... I guess time will tell!! But at this stage I’m just so thrilled to be pregnant and don’t care at all about the sex. Otherwise I would perhaps hav left the one attempt on the weds!!! [emoji39][emoji39][emoji39]

Plasticserenity your chart is looking nice with those two temps rises right in the implantation frame! When are you testing?
Today is my highest temp yet! I'm not getting too carried away though - I compared this chart to last cycle and I had a temp spike at 7 & 8 dpo then too, and it dropped off a bit on 9dpo. Google tells me that progesterone peaks around 7dpo whether you're pregnant or not so I guess this is normal for me.
The only thing I am keeping an eye on is that last cycle, my resting heart rate dropped dramatically about 5/6dpo. I haven't seen that drop yet this month, but at the same time my RHR has been lower overall, so not sure what to make of it... there's less information out there for heart rate compared to BBT but I know that staying high after ovulation is supposed to be a good sign.
I'm expecting both BBT and RHR to drop off tomorrow anyway, so still not sure when to POAS... maybe the weekend.
Edited to add a graph of my last two cycles BBT vs RHR. I do love a graph!

It's super interesting if you're a data nerd like me! I've read loads of accounts of people confirming they were pregnant by their heart rate before any other signs showed it! And because it's easy enough for me to track (I wear a fitbit every day anyway) I just note it down and it's cool to see a pattern.

Pbn yes, I did have very strong O pains on cd 13. I'm very confused because my chart looks like crap so I have no idea where I am in my cycle. Normally my luteal phase temps are a bit higher at this point (low 98's), so that makes me think I haven't O'ed. Also, I know night temps aren't supposed to mean anything, but my last two have been 96.8 and 97.2.

I thought things would be more clear this time around, obviously not :/ But we have BD regularly, so hopefully we've caught it if I have O'ed. How likely is pregnancy at O-3? Greydore an opk wont tell you you've oed, only that your surge has peaked and passed. Abc doesn't appear to be oing until 3/4 days after pos opk temp wise. It is possible you are 3dpo and a 3-o and day of o attempts still have a fair chance of conception if so. I would try and put it out of mind and keep bding every few days for now and temping. Greydore that is usually how it works and maybe that was your positive the other day? Some ladies simply wont get a full pos unfortunately. Fx there wont be one, but maybe consider the dual hormone digis if there is a next cycle? I know they're pricey but you just cant beat using fmu (and having the option to test later again same day if you think you're really close) plus it's having that extra hormone that's being tested which I think really helps when someone has a weaker lh surge.... the waiting sucks but let's see what you temps do and continue with an e3d attempt if that suits. How many opks do you have left?

Girlswaylondon if you're worried you could take an antihistamine this morning or a couple hours before bding to try and dry some of it up? This used to be an old tactic used to make a more hostile environment for swaying pink. Atomic has shifted away from it last I knew but if you have excess ewcm it may help lessen it some? If you have time check out some of the older ttc a girl threads to do with antihistamines :)

Greydore that spike is a good sign you have indeed oed but it's still questionable as to whether it was cd13 or 16.... was that near pos opk cd12?? If so then combined with the o pain cd13 and a primary spike the following morning I'm inclined to lean towards cd13 (only because of the combination of things, none on their own are a strong factor) however when it comes to testing time you have to remember that cd16 is also a good possibility and therefore you may actually be 3dpo less :)

Pbn - I have no idea what to do :( Help!!!
So I got a flashing smiley on dual OPK this morning on CD9. I thought this seemed early for that (I just started testing yesterday) and thought maybe it had to do with the Clomid - but I went back to my August cycle (my pregnancy/miscarriage cycle), and turns out I had a flashing smiley on CD9 that cycle too. On that cycle I had 4 days of flashing, solid on CD13, we had an attempt on the night of CD13, and I think I ovulated on CD15. This past cycle I got a flashing on CD10, flashing for 3 days, solid on CD13, and of course we don't know exactly when I O'ed but likely CD15 or 16. So - I'm guessing I'll still get a solid smiley around CD13 - but can't be sure of that. Two cycles ago I got a +opk on CD10. And then there's the issue that my body takes FOREVER after +opk to actually ovulate - which I'm still hoping Clomid will help fix, but who knows.
So as far as when to attempt... I don't know... I was thinking on CD10 and CD13 (assuming +opk on CD13), but now I'm wondering if we should just wait until I get the solid smiley since I'm wondering if it might come earlier this cycle. DH is kinda pressuring us to start BD earlier/do more attempts as he really is ready for us to get pregnant. I'm REALLY ready to get pregnant too, but I still want the best odds of a girl :(
The other issue is whether to have him release or not. I just can't get over the worry that his sperm count of 99 mill will override everything else I have done in terms of swaying. BUT - I was thinking about it tonight, and his morphology % (normal sperm shape) is only 4%. Normal is 3% or higher but it sounds like the normal range goes up to like 15% - so he's definitely on the low end in terms of normal shape sperm. So even though he has a high count, maybe the actual number that are normal/ able to fertilize an egg is more in line w/ an average sperm count? Does that make sense? With 99 mill and a morphology of 4%, I guess it means that sample of DH's sperm had only like 4 mill "normal" sperm. So if a guy had a sperm count of like 40 mill and 10% normal morphology - he'd have 4 mill "normal" too. Yes - I'm overthinking it - and that's bad for my sway, I know :) :) :) It's just my one big hang up!! I'm not stressing about it all the time I just can't make a decision about how/when to attempt this cycle. I don't know whether to have him release before our attempt. I know we can get pregnant w/ a 14 hour pre-attempt release (as we did in August), but I also don't want to cut the odds of conception as I'm so sick of swaying lol!!!!
I'm wondering if maybe he should just release each night from now until the night of our attempt - so basically he would end up releasing 24 hours before attempt. Since our attempt will probably be in 2-4 days from now, that wouldn't really be FR, just a way to keep his sperm fresh and *maybe* lower count a bit.
That was way longer of a response Pbn than I think you were expecting!!!! Sorry!!!!! :) :)

November 18th, 2017, 01:14 AM
I kinda got lost in numbers on the sperm explanation [emoji23] but get the gist. Ok so I was actually going to suggest cd9 (tonight) and cd12, 15 (so an e3d pattern) simply because why not start on first day flashing smiley for something different and it has a nice feel to it - like things are getting going on you body so why not get the attempts going at the same time? Have dh release each night prior to attempt night (except tonight of course as too late for that). Any more than that and you may risk putting too much pressure on him (eg daily release) A release the night before will empty the tank so to speak so theoretically if it generally takes 48 hours for swimmers to recover then he'll be running on half a tank for your actual attempt..... how does that sit with you? You should still only end up with one attempt in fertile window but with increase odds of conception, you'll be covered for delayed o plus dh sperm count wont be at maximum health? Entirely up to you of course and what you're comfortable with xxoo

Pbn - that sounds reasonable. Except only problem is DH is already in bed tonight :) I could go in & get him up as he just went to bed not long ago but I feel like he wont be into it tonight. Should we just go back to the plan of CD10, 13, & 16? And maybe have him release the night of CD12 & 15?

Yea I thought about that too - I'm REALLY hoping the Tuesday scan gives us a good idea of where things are at. Only issue is I wont get to talk to the doctor until the next morning when he calls me b/c he's out of the office on the day that I do my scan. But I will ask the tech to give me the measurement of the follicle. Will the ultrasound show if I've already ovulated? Abc that's fine!! Go with what you are comfortable with xxoo you won't miss out as you'll either get a solid smiley or have your ultrasound before. The reason I think an earlier bd or two well before o is good is not as an attempt (would be too early) but to introduce fresh sperm into your body so your body is more familiar with it and may not try so hard to seek and destroy it ([emoji23]) when you have your actual attempt. Of course though people get pregnant off one hit wonders all the time (myself included) but its a simple way to help improve your body's receptiveness to sperm when you are actually trying. Either that or bding regularly after o to af will help too.

Huh. Interesting I hadn't heard about the sperm thing! Doesn't atomic believe more semen may raise T levels in females though? Although I know she's starting to question whether high T really sways boy anyways, as Clomid raises T and a lot of high T women still get girls.
Ugh - I don't know! I guess we'll make it a game time decision tonight! :) :)

I don't know about whether she believes it raises t or not? We have discussed though that bding outside fertile window (1-2 times a week) can improve the female body's acceptance of sperm. I do recall her saying bding between af to o can be risky in case of earlier o though. Usually someone who o's from say cd14 onwards regularly is pretty safe dtd cd7, 8 or 9 and someone who generally o's later could stretch that out to cd11.....
If you're wanting an attempt at pos opk then I'd hold off on doing the e3d. E3d is supposed to take the stress out of when to bd not add to it because you stick to every 3rd (every 72 hours) day regardless of opk (most choose not to do opks for this reason). I think you're best holding off bding and seeing what your u/s result brings and your opks. That way you wont be stressing about an early o and where your attempt will be in relation to it :)

I gave myself a compromise - we were going to BD late tonight (we have people coming over this evening so it would have had to be late!), so I decided let's just sneak one in this afternoon so that if we need to get another attempt in within the next couple of days b/c of an earlier +opk, at least there are going to be more hours separating the two attempts!! We'll have to see now what happens w/ my OPKs, which I'll still do since I know I'll get a positive at some point. I still think it'll probably be Monday or Tuesday (CD12 or 13), since my body is pretty consistent w/ the OPKs. I've read most women don't ovulate until 7-10 days after finishing Clomid, and that you typically ovulate later on Clomid than usual (which I think may have happened in my last cycle), and I take awhile to ovulate after +opk, so I would pretty surprised if it happens before CD14. I'm just going to base our next attempt now on +OPK and/or the Tuesday ultrasound. After we have the 2nd attempt, we'll just continue to BD every 3 days or so until O is confirmed. I feel I will be ok if worst case we end up w/ 2 attempts in my fertile window that are separated by a 60-72 hour period, since really *most* sperm are not going to survive longer than that anyways.
So we have a plan :) Sort of. :cheer:

Good luck everyone with their attempts and hope the tww goes quickly for those already in it.
Sounds like a good plan ABC! Fx for you.
Hi dreaming and welcome [emoji112]
I've finally started cd 1 again today after spending a fortune in tests and getting more and more disheartened every day. Not sure if I did ovulate but thinking not as this af is much lighter than usual. So on to next cycle. It seems like I've been trying forever now and I'm wondering if that's a sign we shouldn't go ahead. Or maybe it just won't happen anyway. Ha gosh I'm feeling sorry for myself lol!!

Mummy I did the same last cycle! I spent sooo much money on tests, when I just happened to ovulate later than usual and totally missed my fertile window. This month I'm not really sure what dpo I am, maybe 5 or maybe 2. I'm much less anxious and I'm finding the time going much faster, and I'm not itching to test so I won't spend nearly as much money. It will happen for you! [emoji4]

Mummy2boys as awful as cd1 os I'm so glad you're not in limbo anymore. That was one weird a*se cycle you had.....
Really hoping this cycle is uneventful for you [emoji173] are you going to use opks or just bd every few days? You may be at that stage now you need that extra attempt at pos opk if you're willing to try e4d (so three full days between) plus extra attempt at pos opk or try your very best to stick to e3d (so two full days in between) whichever you think will be more achievable for you. How is dh? Has he recovered fully from his neck/back surgery?

14dpo [emoji50][emoji50][emoji50]!!! Only if you're super controlled!!! For sure that would be the sensible and smart thing to do [emoji23] but I think 10dpo is a good place to start if using a sensitive test like frer (preferably) or wondfo and you're itching to test. If you can hold out till 12dpo then that's a more accurate time to start. I was a total poas addict and would ridiculously start far too early....

My DH is still not 100% up for it so I'll just be going along with what he wants ( which is usually pretty often..) Woke up this morning from nipples hurting so bad. Waiting on FMU results, but all of my tests have been darker later in the day?
Temps aren't giving many clues either (steadily went down, then went back up; all have been higher than my normal pre-O BBT, but also circling around what my coverline would have been.

Hello ladies! I hope you don't mind a person joining up halfway through the month. :)
I've been reading all these posts but have been too nervous to post myself. I'm sending you all hugs and babydust!
TP, I'm so sorry you're going through all this confusion. It's not fair!
I am also one of those women who tells herself she won't test...but then uses up all those Amazon cheapie tests waaaay too early.
I am currently 13 dpo and just got another negative test this morning. I am driving myself nuts trying to determine if I actually have pregnancy symptoms or if it's all in my mind. I've been napping on the couch every night after dinner, even with my two boys screaming all around me. I have burning sensations near where my ovaries might be (?), fuller breasts though not painfully sensitive. Yesterday I had shooting pains in I guess what I'd call my pubic bone...and I get full really fast OR inhale a bunch of food.
** sigh ** Well, I guess I got all that out! Hoping everyone is at least a little more sane than me this month. :)

Dreaming you can test anytime of the day once af is due :) Just try and limit fluids for an hour or so prior. It's only if your testing before this that fmu is best as its usually the most concentrate. By af due or after there should be enough hcg in your system to show a definate positive even with diluted urine but I'd still try and limit fluids for that short time prior.

Yes 10dpo is a good place to start but with a sensitive test like an frer or wondfo. Frer are by far the most sensitive. As an example frers have been known to pick up as little as 6.5mIU whereas most of your over the counter tests pick up 20-25mIU. Wondfos are also quite sensitive. Many people use them first as they are cheap then confirm with an frer if they see something. Frer = first response early result

Not 6dpo just to clarify (think it was just a typo and you meant 6mIU)
Yes that can be a sign of pregnancy but most peoples af would have been due before 18dpo. There are different patterns in temps that can be very promising but definately not a guarantee. Maintained elevated temps is one pattern yes, but there are people who's temps dont drop before af and stay elevated until af finishes then drop back to usual pre o temp range. Triphasic charts are also promising. Triphasic meaning three distinct levels of temps, pre o, temps post o then usually another maintained rise following implantation. Some people experience what's referred to as an implantation dip. However a secondary estrogen surge can also cause a temp dip around the same time (6-10dpo). From what I've observed though, the temps that dip almost down to or below coverline on your chart (coverline being the horizontal line of your red cross) are the most promising. I personally wouldn't get too excited about a dip smaller than this. Another pattern is a sustained rise of little fluctuation in temps. So like a tight zigzag pattern. These are 'some' examples of cause for excitement BUT I've seen some very pretty charts end in a bfn so that's all it really is, a possible promising sign but definately not a guarantee.

I bought them for ovulation, but it came with 20 pregnancy tests. I only have 3 or 4 left. :)
I am not sure when af is due. I got a positive opk ovulation test on November 6, so that's...13 days ago. But I have really long cycles, and I'm 41. I had a chemical pregnancy in August, so I'm just generally nervous. Trying to take lots of B-complex and magnesium to help with pregnancy and calm my ass down, tho. :) My Ovia app says my period's not due for another week, but that seems kind of crazy to me.
