First off, are you doing 72 hr or 96 hr version of e4d?
Need more opinions, but here's mine.
So today is our Thursday. Dtd tonight and if your positive opk is saturday and you O on sunday, then you will have an approximate o-3 attempt. If you add in another attempt on Saturday, then you'll probably have an o-3 and o-1. Boosting conception odds, but less girl friendly.
If you dtd Thursday and your +opk happens sunday then dtd then and that will give you an o-1 attempt and a good one attempt with high conception odds and being girl friendly. I don't feel as a o-4 attempt counts at all.

Eighme I’d go for it tonight and then again when you get pos opk if you are ok with it being slightly more boy friendly. Otherwise, just stay with one attempt like Hgmama says.

So, should I keep doing e4d (today would be the day to, if so) but what if I get a POS OPK this weekend and it hasn't been in the four days? Do we go ahead and BD anyway or should I hold off on the E4D until I get an OPK?E4d (72 hr version) is meant to take away the stress of opks by giving you one viable attempt without the stress of 'do I/dont I' add an attempt if pos opk falls on a non scheduled day. But heaps of ladies still do opks anyway to get an idea of when they may o. I would stick to just e4d as your pos opk may come early or late. If you're really not wanting to add an attempt I'd probably ditch the opks to take away the temptation [emoji4]

Hadn’t really thought about it too much tbh. The folate is the main thing isn’t it!?
I think if your diet is pretty good you’ll be getting most of your nutrients anyway, but you have to do what you feel comfortable with.

Emshe - YAY for +OPK and attempt in!!!!! WOO HOO!!! Officially in the TWW!!!

Seems like there are several of you in the TWW now but I can't keep track - Emshe, HGMama, Hopeful, Mummy, anyone else?

Mummy I see those pics and I do see a faint line!! I'm hesitant too given the crazy luck you've had with false positives but I do hope this one is real and gets darker in the next few days!!!

HGMama - Love the pic!! Your little man is so cute!! As far as the prenatals, even with 3 m/cs I didn't feel guilty about that. BUT I have been taking 1,600-2,400 mcg of folate/day for over a year now and atomic says that folate is the only vitamin proven to prevent birth defects! I think if you're eating a sufficient amount and taking folate/folic acid it's OK! Just start the prenatals as soon as you get a BFP (hopefully in a few days from now!)

I don't feel guilty about not taking prenatals because I am taking folate (I wouldn't skip that) and eating more fruit/veg and healthier foods on my version of the LE diet (alternate) than I was pre-TTC.

Hi ladies
I'm new to the thread! Goodluck and bfps to all.
I'm TTC pink and we BDed yesterday. Our first cycle at TTC! So last night was CD 16. I'm aiming for one attempt and 2 day cut off per shettles. Last month, I got +OPK on CD17 eve and ovulated on CD 18 between 7 pm and 10pm approximately. So with that data in mind, I picked yesterday for my one attempt. (temps are not of much help at the moment)

When I BDed yesterday, no +OPK. As of today, no +OPK either. And it's 8pm my time on CD17. The lines are still as faint as yesterday. Pic attached

So now I'm caught in a dilemma...

If I get +OPK tonight, then I will likely ovulate on CD18 and my one attempt will be at a 2 day cut off (which does have some chance of conception). So I do nothing, but sit tight....

If I don't get +OPK tonight, I will likely ovulate at CD 19 or maybe even 20. That puts my one attempt at 3-4 days prior to Ovulation and might likely not result in pregnancy... So should I BD again, at +OPK? If I do that, I risk more than one attempt!

Both decisions have its advantages and risks! What would you do in my shoes?

I completely understand your dilemma and it is such a tough time making the decision. If it’s your first month ttc you might want to really stick to your guns with the one attempt if that is really important to you. But if your in a rush to conceive maybe again at +ve opk. All depends when it turns positive too.

The other ladies are better at this decision stuff than me do I’m sure they’ll help you out! I wish you every success in fulfilling your desire 🤞🏻

Hopeful, I’m 41 and I do sometimes ovulate on the same day as pos opk. I have also read somewhere about the surge being shorter when you are in your forties but I don’t know how true it is.

Mummy I’m 41 too, and my GP said that over 40’s , it can Happen the same day or sometimes you can get a surge and you have already ovulated . But I wouldn’t have thought the day before.

I am wondering if my temps were off this month, because I was sick the beginning of my cycle, and also had enormous work related stress at the same time. So my temps may have been higher than normal.
Anyway I’ll stop blabbering. [emoji850][emoji23]

Are you UK by the way? I’m sure stress can definitely affect temps. Mine have been lower than usual this month which is odd considering the lovely weather!

No one who has an unexpected pregnancy (accident [emoji85]) has conceived taking prenatals and look how successful they are! I conceived after stopping mine and drinking faaaarrr too much strong coffee and wine yet my dd is alive and well. Not saying at all to do what I did but just trying to say prenatals will not make or break a pregnancy [emoji173]

Hi and welcome heart desires pink! I'm sure you're aware that shettles has been completely and utterly debunked but if you're not willing to let go of that aspect that's totally fine too [emoji4] Your sway, your way! So your opk still looks pretty negative to me BUT I don't particularly like going off 11am'ish tests. I think wait and see how your 3pm'ish test looks and go from there. Alternatively start e4d instead but the pinker version of 96 hours between attempts rather than 76. So if you had an attempt cd16 hold out and have another cd20. This version cuts conception odds but is slightly more pink than the 72 hour version.

Just curious, but atomic usually recommendeds one attempt at pos opk for at least the first couple cycles? You mentioned you're on your first cycle trying, are you not going to give one attempt at pos opk a go?

Hopeful the other possibility could be you oed cd14 and had a fallback rise cd16 (which is quite common). Without more charts and data it's impossible to say but at this stage you could be either 2dpo or 4dpo. Looking at when you got your pos opk now changes my certainty of you being 2dpo to a 50/50 with 4dpo.... sorry that's not overly helpful but I like to considernall possibilities [emoji16]

Ok so I did that and there was no changes, but then I went and deleted it all together (yeah yeah I know, so stupid) lucky I have it in my period tracker - which mind you, it says I ov on day 16. So I go back in and get my temp and put it in..... umm cross hairs go, but now I’m looking at the chart and think !! Damn it! I think I have put in the wrong temps [emoji30][emoji17][emoji17]

Jgojah I would count tomorrow as cd1 if it's not full flow or starts late afternoon/evening however others count any light bleeding (not spotting) that requires a liner as cd1. I think you could pretty much flip a coin and decide that way. Or take the femara at night of cd3 if you count today as cd1 as that would be splitting it down the middle [emoji12]

I decided to start the femara tonight but wanted to ask something about my temps as I see you seem to be an expert :)

My pre o temps are usually in the range 97.3 - 96.9, however so far they are still pretty high 97.8 and 98. I googled (of course) and read that after a chemical temps may stay high for a bit (so now I am convinced u were right about it being a chemical). Anyway, is it ok to go ahead with the femara and attempt this cycle or should we skip it ?

My crosshairs have now disappeared and FF and I are doubting that I actually Oed. If I wasn't temping I would say I Oed on the 6th based on +opk and pain. But temps are not convincing. Jgojah you absolutely don't need to skip a cycle! As for your temps they will drop over the next few days I'm sure, I'm not aware if femara can cause falsely high temps like clomid can but just keep going as you are and we'll see what happens temp wise over the next week. Can you post a link to your chart?

Jgojah you absolutely don't need to skip a cycle! As for your temps they will drop over the next few days I'm sure, I'm not aware if femara can cause falsely high temps like clomid can but just keep going as you are and we'll see what happens temp wise over the next week. Can you post a link to your chart?

I had a few glasses of wine before I knew I was pregnant with my first and he is fine. So many kiddos are born with their parents not knowing for the first month or two about their existence

I wouldn't worry about testing again tonight if there's zero chance of dtd.Yes, tomorrow is Saturday for me, so I hope O doesn't happen day of positive OPK or before I can get my attempt in. The 5pm OPK today was close to positive.
So Attempt 2 will be 72-96 hrs after attempt 1 and maybe day of positive OPK. Closer to 84. Fingers crossed!
Last time I went on vacation to beach and ate a lot I ended up getting pregnant with a sway opposite a month or two later. This time I hope for a good sway but will be OK with a healthy baby boy or girl.

Here's an update I want to share.

It's CD 18, late night and still - ve opk, but lines are getting darker than earlier.

So I'm guessing tomorrow (CD 19) by evening, I should be showing a +ve OPK, which means I will likely ovulate on CD 20. My BD attempt from CD 16 is likely pointless, given the current scenario. I think it also really lowers my chances of conception.

I will plan to BD tomorrow night. This puts me at an attempt on + ve OPK AND follows 72 hours since earlier attempt, which is hopefully still pink friendly.

Wish me luck! Kicking myself for BDing on CD16 (last month I got +ve opk on CD 17, and hence the stupid decision). I really wanted one attempt, but looks like I have to have 2 attempts this cycle. I hope the 72 hours will help alleviate this in some way!

Hopeful, I’m 41 and I do sometimes ovulate on the same day as pos opk. I have also read somewhere about the surge being shorter when you are in your forties but I don’t know how true it is.

I completely understand your dilemma and it is such a tough time making the decision. If it’s your first month ttc you might want to really stick to your guns with the one attempt if that is really important to you. But if your in a rush to conceive maybe again at +ve opk. All depends when it turns positive too.

The other ladies are better at this decision stuff than me do I’m sure they’ll help you out! I wish you every success in fulfilling your desire 🤞🏻

Atomic recommends the 72hour version to a lot of people, I think all or most of us here do 72hour when doing e4d’s. Slightly less pink but higher conception. Wishing you so much luck

Enjoy your night [emoji482] Your chart is looking really good with that steady rise but your chart has looked promising several other times too [emoji848] I'd wait and see if af arrived before testing again and skip the cheapie tests. A really good brand that seemed as sensitive as frers is the OSOM brand tests. May be worth checking out in case they're a cheaper option to puchase online instead of frer?

i hope so Pbn, would that mean O was yesterday? morning befores temp was so so so unreliable with my sleep too. Ive been twingy achey yesterday & today (although i walked last night and then did some wierd round in circles and around the house something trying to resemble cardio to avoid going out in the rain again - it was certainly comic relief for the family especially with 2 bored puppies doing circles with me) so was worried I hadn't o'd? Had some creamy/sticky CM too, Im sorry for asking this but is that leftovers? Red cheeked right here

I noticed some EWCM around midday today, and then by 6 pm it got sticky /cloudy. But opks didn't pick up anything. Current Temping doesn't shed light either as it's going up and down randomly!

So if I did ovulate already, I'm hoping my Bding attempt on CD16 will cover me.

If I haven't ovulated yet, I will get another attempt in at +OPK, which will end up being E4D or later (which is good too)
It's possible I might get a +OPK in the next 2 days.

I was left wishing i had done E4D because then I knew I'd have a chance even if it was the case that i had missed my surge with the opk's. But I know I have only this month and next to conceive and have been ttc for a long time so the pressure is on, it all depends how much you want to conceive right now I guess?!I'm sorry that you missed your chance this cycle emshe! Pink dust your way for a bfp very soon! This is only my first cycle ttc, but we've had baby plans for 10 months now and one thing after the other kept happening in our lives, that we had to keep postponing our plans. Now is the time we actually feel ready, and both DH and I want to get pregnant quickly to keep our child spacing under 4 years. So I think I'll get an E4D attempt in tomorrow. I'll feel like I tried my best to maximize chances, while sticking to the sway. Whoever thought the one time I could trust my cycle /ovulation, it would go out of whack. This is probably a sign from the universe to remind me that you can't control everything to be the way you want, irrespective of how OCD you are :-)

I noticed some EWCM around midday today, and then by 6 pm it got sticky /cloudy. But opks didn't pick up anything. Current Temping doesn't shed light either as it's going up and down randomly!

So if I did ovulate already, I'm hoping my Bding attempt on CD16 will cover me.

If I haven't ovulated yet, I will get another attempt in at +OPK, which will end up being E4D or later (which is good too)
It's possible I might get a +OPK in the next 2 days.

Now, would you recommend that I wait for a (potential) positive opk and then get the attempt in, or get one in tomorrow (96 hours since prev attempt, irrespective of +OPK )?

Thanks, but CD 18 is not really as it looks, guys! When I took the test on CD18, it was a very clear - ve opk, with the left line visibly lighter than the right one, for the first 4-5 minutes of reading the test. In the next couple of hours, it got darker to mimic a +Opk result.

From my past cycles, I know that I don't usually have a short LH. I get +Opk s for a good day and a half, or two while testing. But I've been more strict on the diet recently, so maybe that changed my cycle or surge factors.

Posting below my FF chart as of today. This leads me to think I may have ovulated on CD 18. I took a test this morning and it was - ve, but the left line was visible (darker than yesterday). I'm on CD 20 today. Overall very confused. I think if I don't get a +ve opk tonight, I'm likely done ovulating and my tests didn't pick it up!

HDP I'm not convinced you've oed as your temps don't say that just yet... it's quite common to get a pre o dip then a day or more of higher temps THEN a further maintained spike to indicate o has happened. That's good to know about your cd18 opk being clearly negative prior to drying. The above opk does look like your surge may be coming in so look forward to your next test!! If you usually get a clear pos opk I believe you still have one coming. Maybe today or tomorrow?

No clue.Yes I was tracking back then '04 and '07 I conceived my girls didn't know anything about swaying... for my son I followed shettles, no dairy, only one attempt, ph testing the works. Maybe it was 50/50 chance, prayers and wishes or maybe I was lucky with that theory. This time with my new partner we're more interested in the fun side of 'attempts'

But one thing I know for sure my diet was high in calories and everything except dairy back then so maybe that does make a lot of difference?

I'm very sure I didn't ovulate on CD 18. I tested through the day! Last night's opk (was - ve), but looked promising and close to positive...

HDP generally most people's lh is strongest in early afternoon to evening which is why almost all dip tests recommend not testing earlier than 11am. Something about the hormone being weaker in the morning and peaks later in the day so the later test is more accurate. I agree it's looking like you haven't oed yet..

Can the LE diet cause delay in ovulation? My ovulation is usually consistent and the opk picks it up well. The only recent change is that I've been more strict on the diet and exercise the past, 6 weeks, and overall been on the diet for 6ish months (not very strictly). It's only in this cycle, that I'm noticing no ovu yet and very little CM. I'm starting to get worried now! :-(

No other meds or changes! I do think this change stems just from doing LE. Hoping for a better day tomorrow! Fx

Your lp shouldn't change though so your cycle will lengthen due to o being delayed. So if your lp is (example) 14 days and you ovulate on cd24 you'll end up with a 38 day cycle or bfp of course [emoji12]

Thoughts on should I plan my one attempt for tonight? It's CD 23 (delayed ovu), and still showing - ve OPK. But the good news is I feel symptoms of ovu (tender breasts and EWCM). Since my ovu is late, I don't know how long the surge will last (or when it'll peak). My historical data is going out the door, this cycle. Attached is my latest opk result.

HDP I would give it one more day as I do think you'll get your pos opk. Especially if your fertile signs are kicking in. But you know your body best so if you think it should be tonight then go with your gut feeling.

Also thinking of you HDP. I have never had a regular cycle, so I feel your pain and frustration. That's why I gave in to temping and opks. I realized that I am a late Ovulator and short LP. I have had cycles lengths that vary 18-35 days. I hear that the LE diet lengthens cycles so maybe you are doing stellar at the LE diet. Deep breath- but trust me- I would be beyond frustrated if I were you and this is a safe place to vent.

I've been anxious and not so patiently waiting. Totally googling implantation dips. Stats seem to say that sometimes there is a natural dip with and without BFP results. Ive also been insanely thirsty the last three days and therefore peeing a ton. Thats not normal for me at all and did happen to me after my BFP in February. Emshe - I was sleeping horribly around the time of O and the days after it this time. My friend just told me that progesterone can really screw up sleep so I'm hoping it means that your progesterone is rising fast because there's a little bean in there!

Anyone else testing soon? I haven't been able to keep up with this board!

I too think it looks good for implantation hgmama. Many women naturally experience a dip between 6-10dpo due to a secondary estrogen surge but implantation dips appear to be deeper and dip to close to coverline or below... watching with interest [emoji102]

Attached is from an hour ago. I'm very close to getting a surge I think. The tests are getting darker. And lots of EWCM today. I'm planning my one attempt for tonight, even if I don't get +ve Opk. My body, signs, CM, symptoms, tell me it's only a matter of hours before the tests catch the surge. Waiting for +ve Opk would mean to BD after another 28 hours, which may be close to O day, or I may even miss O given this crazy cycle. Going with my gut. This is my first cycle, so I thought better to catch the pre O train, than a potentially later one, and be stressed that I missed out.

I'll probably pee on wondfos tomorrow and next day (8dpo & 9dpo). Then FRER on Saturday. I'm pretty sure there's no way i keep it from him until Sunday. In February i thought i saw something at 9dpo and did FRER on 10dpo and there was a solid line. I think my beans produce hcg quickly. At 14 dpo my level was 500s and 16 dpo 1k. Those were similar to ABCs twin levels. And my son- i was nauseous in my 4th week and puking by 5 weeks.

I'm losing my mind, guys!!!
To all of you in the 2WW, trust me, you guys are in a good place! The hassle of tracking ovulation is done :-) You now have a good chance and are on your way to pregnancy, if you aren't already pregnant. To someone still awaiting ovulation, I'd rather be you!
So, I went with my gut ( and ovu symptoms and EWCM) and BDed yesterday night. My tests from yesterday eve and night were looking close to positive (no surge detected in CB though). I went to bed very happy and pretty positive that I'd see a 'positive' in the morning. BUT it's like a bad dream. My tests are all clear negative, lines are fainter than yesterday. I tested in the afternoon today, to better my chances. Nada, nothing! It's CD 24 and I can't believe I'd be ovulating this late, if I do, that is!

So I went from 'Yay I'm going to make a 2-O,cutoff', to 's***, did I botch my one attempt'. If I get a +ve tonight, I'd still be in 2-O or 3-O. Not a great chance, but still a decent one! If I don't get +ve tonight, I really don't know what the plan is anymore! I'm just so frustrated. I've taken opk tests since CD 11, originally anticipating a CD 17 ovulation. Attached are Temps from this morning.

Feeling miserable :( don't really feel like doing anything except peeing on sticks and willing them to change their results!

HDP I'm sorry this is happening [emoji17] why not switch to e4d (96 hour version) and ditch the opks? Either that or test just once a day between 1-3pm until you see a near pos, then use the cb that evening? Really hoping your body chills out and does its thing...

Deep breath HDP. This whole section that ill write was probably told to me by pbn3 & abc and a few others. You're right, TWW is a little easier because its fairly black and white, test or don't test.
So at this point I think you need to be happy with this attempt and then in 72-96 hrs have another and then in 72-96 hrs have another. Enjoy having some sex. From how i understand atomics plan (correct if I'm wrong) of one attempt is one attempt/limited attempts in fertile period, not one attempt in the month.
This is very frustrating to not know if you're surging multiple times this month...having an anovulatory cycle... going to officially O later... who knows. We won't know until you end up pregnant or AF comes.
Being obsessive and stressing sways blue, so slow it down. Better said than done, but I'm trying to help. Take care. Keep posting here.

I’ve decided I’m never doing OPks again, they just increase my obsession with TTC and swaying and then I lose sight of the whole thing.

Deep breath HDP. This whole section that ill write was probably told to me by pbn3 & abc and a few others. You're right, TWW is a little easier because its fairly black and white, test or don't test.
So at this point I think you need to be happy with this attempt and then in 72-96 hrs have another and then in 72-96 hrs have another. Enjoy having some sex. From how i understand atomics plan (correct if I'm wrong) of one attempt is one attempt/limited attempts in fertile period, not one attempt in the month.
This is very frustrating to not know if you're surging multiple times this month...having an anovulatory cycle... going to officially O later... who knows. We won't know until you end up pregnant or AF comes.
Being obsessive and stressing sways blue, so slow it down. Better said than done, but I'm trying to help. Take care. Keep posting here.

Atomic advises to do one attempt at pos opk (so one unprotected attempt only that cycle) for the first couple cycles anyway then move onto e4d from there. We know e4d increases conception odds due to more sperm being present throughout the cycle rather than just one event (so the body becomes more accustomed to sperm) it's still pretty much one attempt in fertile period especially if doing the 96hr version. But one attempt (unprotected) only at pos opk leans most towards pink as the conception odds from just one 'delivery' are often less even with such a well timed attempt due to the bodies seek and destroy those sperm invaders mentality [emoji12]

It’s usually 12-14 days, last month it was 13, so if it hasn’t arrived and my temps are still up I will test Sunday. [emoji4]

The 2ww wait is the literal worst. I'm feeling so confident about our attempt and now I'm just sitting here analyzing every twitch and twinge. I've been so busy I haven't had much time to sit still. So, that's helped, but when I stop and think about it it makes me so anxious!

Yes, just writing about. So woke up after a nightmare and was really nauseous. And then it died down but was there until I ate lunch. Now several hours later, I am now having an upset stomach. That's not usually a problem since I started the skipping breakfast thing six months ago. But nonetheless, stark white wondfo. Not even a shading that I could pretend to be seeing something. I never get a blazing positive opk. But this month it was stressing me out and because of that I think it's delaying my Os so my partner and I decided to just dtd and be done with it. He's ok with which ever gender we get as long as it's healthy but my heart is still set on blue. If this time around isn't successful I'll be dumping the opk for sure and just stick to natural tracking.
Good luck HDP I have everything crossed for you that you get your pink bfp this cycle and just know you're not alone in this I'm CD 23 and still no real sign for me either and I'm also normally o'ing CD 17 or 18...

Can someone help me with my chart? I dont have regular cycles and got the bbt thermometer in the middle. But I thought as soon as I see a positive opk I should do one attempt. But I think I dont know what positive is. I thought when you see any second line its positive. Here's this month. I wrote + opk thinking it was. But I'm thinking I was wrong.

The really dark one I thought I messed up because I left it in the cup too long. It wasnt a line until I got back later. And it looked like tons of ink. None really were immediate. Other days no line at all. Here is a good place! [emoji6] the basics I understand is that your temp will rise after ovulation and stay up there until AF is due. If your pregnant your temps will stay up?

Hi there mom25boys!! Glad you found us! Ok so that spike could indicate o but we'll need to wait and see what the next few days do. Especially if your still getting fertile signs. Could something else have caused the spike? Did you have a few (alcohol) drinks, restless sleep, get up before temping? I cant see an opk for cd22? This *may* have been your pos opk day as most ladies will ovulate the day after pos opk however up to 2 days later is completely normal. You'll need to disregard the test you left floating [emoji6] as its no good and not accurate. A positive opk is when the test line is as dark or darker than control line. Always dtd at first pos opk as you may have more than one day of pos some cycles. Also dont use these dip tests before 11am. For most people testing between 1-3pm and again at 6-8pm if you're wanting to is most accurate. Can you post a link to your chart? I hate to say it but I'm thinking you should ditch temping after o is confirmed as I think the stress of it may be affecting your sleep... *maybe* at least commit to not temping the next two mornings as a start and see if that works sleep wise?
