Deaks I feel I have ruined this month too :( given up on finding O as it's costing me a fortune in Ovulation test strips and cheapies have run dry and they are all really not there negatives, so not much LH about, cm is watery/creamy and there isn't much of it and no sign of O. It was stretchy at some point last week.

Think I probably missed my surge so then dawned on me I should have stopped taking cranberry sups after my attempt. I may have caught the egg but very much doubt it we DTD last night more for fun than an attempt because I really think O has been and gone. Also I've eaten some chocolate yesterday and today and felt really sick as a result and realised if I had caught the egg I shouln't be eating any sugar to keep my bloods low. No Xmas dinner or anything else off limits so just chocolate for two days and nothing much else..... really not healthy but it is acidifying (looking for silver lining...). Back on strict diet tomorrow in time for a really strong sway next week month.

Just want this week to hurry up so I can start a new month and fresh sway.

This is all a lot harder than just making a baby. Deaks hugs, if anyone deserves a DD after their BFP it's you. xx

Lavendar - sorry you don't know where you are this cycle. Sugary foods do not raise blood sugar though, so you don't need to worry about that. If anything, they help to keep blood sugar low as shortly after you've eaten them your blood sugar levels crash to lower than they were before you ate! That's why I became a fan of sweeties while I was swaying :D

Oh poor old us lavender! Not great for the christmas spirit! Feel like I have been down in the dumps all evening which isn't very fair on my family but don't think they have noticed. Blamed it on a headache. Dh and I managed to dtd again and really proud of him as he is feeling ill. Doubt much will come of either attempts as first one most of the sperm probably pulled out when I pulled the damn femme up out...stupid! And second attempt may well have been too late though I never noticed my cervix go particularly high or soft and cm still quite stretchy so probably haven't even ov yet though it has been 48hours since first opk so surely! Will see what temp does in morning. Does anyone know what how different an evening temp after rest would be to a morning temp? X

It's hard isn't it Deaks when you've been working so hard towards something and with all best intentions things don't go to plan. Sigh... I hope there's some Christmas magic out there for us. I really hope you catch/caught the egg. Good on your DH what a trooper. I guess you just have to think there are typically 300-500 million sperm, in about 5 ml (1 tsp) of sperm and it only takes the one. big FX.. can't help with temps though sorry really should look into it and start though as will probably help with next months sway.

Thank you! Think it really helped cooking it I was so occupied with getting it all cooked and timings by the time it was all done and plated up for DP and the boys it wasn't tempted in the slightest then I just occupied myslef with clearing up the carnige in the kitchen so I could chill out on the sofa! My only vice in life really is chocolate!! :D

With the sperm thing I would have thought DH's sperm count would have been pretty low 4 hours after an intial release this is more based from logic than fact though.... so not really 100% sure.

Sunset, I wondered what ur Fb comment was meaning! I get it all the time now... soon your amazing little bundle will be here, I'm sorry you had such a hard time from dh's relatives!! I'm off to dh's family tomorrow, have 4 houses to go to and I'm bound to get the comments... can't believe she will be here soon! I was thinking of you whilst in next today, they had little bodysuits with 'born in 2011' on them and I wondered if that will be ur little one soon! x

Deaks, sorry about ur attempt! TTC is super tough and esp at this time of the year u have lots of other things on ur mind that u forgot it was there, try not be so hard on yourself...did u attempt again??

Morning :) I woke up this morning with the worst possible cold.. I haven't tried to speak yet but I'm pretty sure I won't have a voice lol
I have spent ALL night in false labour with regular tightenings which kept waking me up but it seemed to have died down this morning.

maybebaby ~ how worrying for you hun! 1+ protein isn't too bad though.. When do you next see your midwife?

Inglewood ~ I couldn't believe people yesterday! They had all obviously been drinking alcohol so didn't have much common sense any of them but I felt like a rabbit that someone threw to the dogs :S in the end I actually avoided to say hi to some of the people there just because I didn't want to hear anymore comments.. and like I said, we only popped in for about 15 minutes on the way back from the hospital. I can deal with most comments but one of dh's uncles yesterday asked me if we're hoping for a girl this time and while it's a relatively harmless question, it was the way he asked it.. He had such a negative tone and basically implied we would be disappointed with another boy. I was gobsmacked! I know I'm very hormonal at the moment but I find these comments very hurtful and down grading.. It brings out the protective side of me because it feels like people are putting my boys down if you know what I mean and people just don't seem to get that I would never swap either of my boys for a girl! Good luck with your family do :) you must really be looking forward to january when you announce the news? I sometimes wish we didn't keep it a surprise just so I can shut people up but then I'm pretty sure they would have some other comments instead

Deaks ~ so sorry to hear your attempt didn't go to plan, but at least you managed to squeeze in another attempt so you're in with a good shot this month :)

Lavenderlime ~ hun you are amazing! I admire you so much for being so strict on the diet over christmas! You should be so proud of yourself! I've got my fx that you did manage to catch the egg! Its so frustrating when our attempts don't go to plan!

Indigoviolet ~ love your signature! :)

Babymad ~ glad you liked the presents :) enjoy yorkshire, I hope you have a good time!

Hello to everyone else! What's everyone doing for new years?

Kell
December 27th, 2011, 05:08 AM
Sunset I don't think people mean any harm by comments, but people always give their comments and have an opinion on things, whether you ask for it or not!
Everyone in my family knows I want a girl they don't need to ask or comment, I tend to get in there first, my nan did say 'make sure it's a girl this time kell!' yesterday, I just laughed and replied I'm trying nan but no pressure huh!
I don't tend to get upset by them but I can understand when your feeling like you do that it can be upsetting!

New year is a bit of a non day here, I'll probably end up in bed way before 12!

I'm starting to wish I hadn't brought a computer game for oh now, two nights on the trot he's come to bed after 2am after having played on it alllllllllllllll day, it's driving me made! I'm going out shopping with my little sister today because I don't wanna see it anymore!

Sunset
December 27th, 2011, 06:46 AM
Kell ~ you are right! :agree: i don't mind if it's people i know.. yes it annoys me, but when people i don't really know like in this case some distant half drunk uncles on dh's side who i see once every 3 years, asks me with a very nasty undertone if we are putting our hopes on a girl this time it really ticks me off, because it really is none of their business. I mean, what am i supposed to answer? it's not like anyone is interested in "we're hoping for healthy". and yesterday got to me because none of these people actually bothered to talk to me or ask me how i'm doing, they all just walked straight up and blurted out their gender comments lol one of the ladies walked up to me, grabbed my belly with both hands and said "do you know what you're having then" and as soon as i said "nope we're keeping it a surprise" she gave me a funny look and walked away :S wtf :S  i should have known better than show up with my pregnant bump at a family do with 60 drunk, nosey people. It's like dangling a piece of lamb over a crocodile lake!

Kell
December 27th, 2011, 08:32 AM

The comments about whether we're hoping for a girl aren't so annoying (though I do get protective over my boys too like you Sunset!) as tedious - come on, think of something else to say to me!! What IS annoying to me is when people ask whether we have any ideas for names and then have something bad to say about all our ideas - my mum and dad did this yesterday and I had to tell them that actually, they don't get any say in the matter! Despite that, if somebody says 'oh God no, that's awful' it does have an effect on my opinion even if I don't want it to - and we're so struggling to find any names we like. I actually think it would be easier to find a boy's name!

We won't do anything for New Year - we haven't done since we had children I don't think! DS1 thinks he's going to stay up unti midnight so we'll probably be asleep before him (at least I will!).

I was going to put away all the new toys today (and put some others in a bin bag ready for the charity shop!) but DH is doing a mammoth dump trip so I'm watching a film with the boys instead :D

Thanks ladies for the well wishes! I didnt feel half so bad in the morning. We got a second attempt in and as dh said about the first attempt, Its likely the femmecup kinda got squished to one side in my vg and that when the load was deposited and then he withdrew, quite a bit probably got trapped inside the femmecup not outside. Trouble is when i removed the femmecup in a panic, i didnt take care to notice where any sperm ended up. But im hoping that at least some from that deposit made its way. Still feel so stupid and so relieved we got a second attempt in! Anyway im viewing new year as a new start in my swaying journey and just gonna write 2011 off as a really crappy practice year!!!! Hopefully by this time next year i will be in sunsets position!!

Hope you are all well X

Hi ladies, hope you all had a great christmas!! we had a lovley day, the boys were good :-) lol.
Ah sunset, ive been stalking you on fb, glad you are doing well and got out of hosp for xmas day! I know how you feel about the comments, they really do make you mad dont they!! We all went to lay some flowers on my nans grave xmas eve and i bumped into a retired work collegue, she came over to see us as she hasnt met ds3 and said how lovely he was.. and then said 'hope you have better luck next time and get a girl'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was so shocked, i seriously thought now id had him that the comments would stop but no. I just replied that we got what we wanted..3 healthy children. And at a graveyard ffs!!!! some people!

On a brighter note, wishing you all a very happy and healthy 2012!!! and may it bring many more bfp's :-) Ive eaten soo much i think i may have to dig out my maternity jeans lmao.

Love to you all x x x

Petal ~ omg, I am SO SORRY that lady said something as horrific as that to you!!! that's not ok! I remember when i had ds2 the comments continued until he was about 1 years old :( well done on your comeback comment! :agree: hopefully it gave her something to think about!

Kell ~ I was back in hospital yesterday for a bp profiling which went really well :) i've only got mild pre-eclampsia at the moment and my bp is well under control with the meds so they're happy for me to go for twice weekly bp checks and then next week i've got an appointment to see the consultant to discuss delivery, but because i've had 2 natural deliveries they've said that if i don't get worse they're probably gonna let me go into labour naturally :) fx!!

Zanacal ~ big sigh to name comments!!!! that's the reason we haven't told anyone what names we're considering (other than you ladies of course). I found it so annoying when i was expecting ds1 how everyone had an opinion on names so when i fell pregnant with ds2 i decided not to reveal our choice of names and haven't done so in this pregnancy either. with ds1 I really liked Josef and I remember telling my MIL and she went on to give me a 30 minute lecture on how she didn't like the name and it reminded her of some relative bla bla bla.. right turn off! People do tend to get a bit offended when they ask and I answer "yes we've decided on names, but we're not telling" but hey ho, i don't want people's opinions unless they've got good things to say iykwim.

Charliespy ~ please don't say that lol I couldn't sleep last night they were so uncomfortable so i can't imagine weeks of false contractions  thing is that i know i have BH contractions with the amount of times i've been strapped to a CTG monitor this pregnancy, i just can't feel them but the ones i had yesterday were regular and i could feel them, they just didn't progress.. it's very new to me because with both boys I was never aware of a single tightening until one day, BANG! baby is on the way :p hopefully though this little baba will want to stay in for another 5 days so i can have a full term delivery :)
when is your next scan?

Deaks ~ of course you're gonna be having a baby in 2012! ;) can't wait for the day you announce your bfp news! are you still gonna sway in 2012?

Hi ladies, back again been a busy bee! i have been reading snippets from this forum here and there (when i've had the chance) :) , i haven't been able to follow the diet strictly but have done what i could, ie restricted salt intake, no caffeine (which has been hard as i used to live on red bull literally + have suffered some awful headaches) + obviously have been taking all vits, i've charted ov and initially made 1 attempt...several pg tests later nothing then af arrived 4 days late! wasnt too disheartened + carried on planning this months attempt was a bit more stricter with the diet , wooden spoon+pink ribbon under the bed, felt ov pain ,charted cm + planned the time of my attempt , christmas eve which my chart also said was a new moon! i've got everything crossed :D , due af 7th/8th jan. Since yesterday ive been very bloated, backache in lower back + really bad tender breasts. How is evryone else doing? Have you all had a great xmas? Is anyone due af/bfp near my date? x

Hiya everyone, Sunset glad little lady is staying put for a while longer! Did you think boy or girl this time round from Day 1?
With DS2 I thought girl just as thats what I thought most people had after a boy lol. Just been reading about gender guesses and if your urine is pale yellow or darker, mine changes between the 2 lol! Im thinking boy though still for this one. Always thought Id have 3 boys so maybe my 4th would be a girl.

Hope everyone else had a fab christmas. I enjoyed the food but paid for it slightly as was soo bloated!

I spent 4 hours with my little sister in Cambridge today, she spent a fortune while I played chief fashion advisor! I did make her buy me lunch for taking her as its about an hour from home!

I didn't have a clue with ds1 about his sex, ds2 I had a feeling but more because of similar cravings and pregnancies, this one I do think girl but I'm not sure if that's because I want it so bad, altho the sickness and massive boobs are also swaying my thoughts.

Fx for a BFP! Deaks and myself will be hoping for our bfp around early January. I don't know when I ovulated as I missed my surge so will test on Friday and then every 3 days until BFP or AF. I've had back ache to but my whole back. But have no clue if it's related i'm symptom spotting like crazy!! And every twinge I'm thinking ooh maybe that's implantation....

Maybe I've done some online sale shopping and braving town tomorrow as have some vouchers to spend also have to get my dad a present his birthday is on the 1st of Jan.

I've been trying to teach our cats (Valentine and Rocket) to use a cat flap today that DP put into the wall today. They haven't really taken to the concept very well! Off to chuck them out again in a minute, they're very homely and are only about 8 months old but think it's time for them to venture out more.

Lavendar - we had a catflap put in recently. I think our cat is about 10 years old and it's the first time she's had one. She goes out of it in the middle of the night (doesn't wake me up anymore - yay!) but the stupid animal is always meeowing at the door in the morning and still asks to be let out during the day!

Chocolate ~ when is your due date so i can update the rollcall? :) with ds1 i knew the instant i fell pregnant that he was a boy, never once questioned it. with ds2 i thought he was a boy, but i know now that i "expected" him to be a girl because people are "supposed" to have pigeon pairs if that makes sense? This pregnancy is different simply because I have 2 boys already so from the moment I got my bfp I just expected to be carrying another boy and never really allowed myself to think girl. It's hard as well to know what's true "maternal instinct" when my gender desire is so strong. I still assume/think of my baby as a boy even though it's been confirmed girl 3 times. I just won't let myself believe I can actually give birth to a girl until I hold her and see her bits for myself. I think it's a defense mechanism lol

Maybebaby ~ i hope your midwife appointment goes well! keep us posted! hopefully it's not pre-eclampsia! what's your bp readings like? try and rest as much as you can!!
I'm staying as far away from the sales as possible! i have strict orders from the doctors to rest and not stress myself up and what is a better way to induce stress than the sales lol

Pinkprincess85 ~ good luck!! fx for a bfp! :) would be a great start to 2012 :)

Hiya, indigoviolet I have a scan at 6+1 so after then if all is well! Kniw what you mean about not believing it. Sunset yeah I agree, hard to know what the instinct says when you have gender desire, makes it cloudy! I should be 5 weeks on sunday but got my 3+ today on the digital test so that's good, my hcg started so low and by my calculations its doubling daily so wonder if all those awful ovulation pains means its more than 1 lol. No feeling sick though so that's good in one way but would give me hope as a good girl sign

Hi all.... hope you all had a fantastic Christmas! We just got back yesterday from the in-laws. Had a lovely time... Had some crazy weather on Christmas day. Melbourne was hit by crazy storms in the afternoon... there was hail the size of golf balls that broke some car windows and torrential rain. We were lucky to be further out in the countryside... so wasn't so bad for us.

Told all the family about the PG and got all the congrats. Most people asked me if I was hoping for a girl. Its hard to know how to answer that. I usually say a girl would be nice but we're happy with whatever.

sunset - hope you shift the cold soon. I've got a tummy bug at the mo... and been feeling decidedly average the last couple of days. Really not what you need. Although loving having DH home for the hols - was able to have a 2 hour lie down over lunchtime today!!! Was magical!!!! :D And he cooked dinner!!!

Ooooh and DS2 started walking yesterday!!!!!!!!! He's pretty much gone from nothing to standing up on his own and toddling off even when there is nobody to walk to. Its such a heartwarming moment!

Ahh Pinga, how old are your boys? I have 2 boys too born in the same years as yours, Max was 3 in June so 3 years and 6 months and Jack was November 2010 so 1 year and 1 month and just walking everywhere too, so cute!
It is hard to know what to say, in one way I want to say 'Im hoping for a girl' so people would be sympathetic if it were to be a boy so they dont go saying too much. Your weather sounds like fun!

Charlie enjoy your scan tomorrow!

Sunset -forgot, my due date is about the 3rd September but will let you know after the scan. Twin girls would be sooo cool! But no way Im that lucky, however twin boys would be fab too.
Starting to feel tired now and its only mid-day so think the symptoms may be coming thick and fast now lol.
Im going to try to build up the confidence to ask which side the little bean/s have implanted in, as there is a great study out there that is very accurate, one side is meant to be boy and the other girl, was right for ds2, need to look it up to see which side means which. And think it is what side the placenta attaches to so hope it is obvious for one side or the other and not central lol as the placenta doesnt take over till about 10 weeks.

Hi all,

How exciting charlie! I asked for a nub shot with ds2 but felt like a total wolly! Either way, will be lovely to see little bean!

Glad you have all had happy christmas's! Ours still seems to be going!

People on IG seem to think i wont stand much chance of pg with dh's second load of sperm a few hours later. Why do you think that is? I know the timing was right (and probably better for the second load) as we dtd 10pm and at 6am my temp wasnt up but it definately was by 9am.

I think you stand a chance Deaks - and lower sperm count gives you a really good shot at a girl too! IMO lower sperm count is probably the biggest factor. We got pregnant with DH's 3rd release in 24 hours (it was less than 8 hours since his last release) and he released twice a day every day for 10 days prior to that! Nobody can tell you how much chance you stand of pregnancy so, if I were you, I wouldn't even ask the question :D My fingers are crossed!

Thanks zanacal, thats very reasurring! I kinda thought that after 2 weeks abstinance and then 2 attempts very very close together that the second must be as good if not better than the first. I only asked on IG as i wasnt sure if the second attempt would sway boy more. Really hope i do get bfp but also learnt this cycle exactly how slow i generally ov. I already had suspicions but i think i ov even slower than i thought. My attempt wasnt until 48hrs after first +opk. Sometimes i think these things happen for a reason as my first attempt was probably a little too soon anyway. X

Bah humbug! Back working today :-(

Deeks it takes 3 months to make sperm so I don't see how having a long abstain then doing it twice will be moreboy friendly. After two weeks I think what's stored up is mostly past it's prime and the second lotsshould be lower in count and just as past it's best as the first lot.

Hi all, just a quick "Hi" had another scan today, twins are about 1lb each and have moved which surprised me, they have swapped places! lol She said one is definetly a GIRL!! and the other had it's legs closed and the cord between it too! But althought they are supposed to be identical twins, she didn't want to confirm the sex of the other with it's wee legs closed, which I understand. Back on th 10th jan them my 4d on the 18th! Feel a bit more reassured that I've heard it twice now, but still waiting for 4d to truly start to believe it all.

Will catch up with posts later, was away all day yest. Hope ur all well? x

And I think it was deaks who said it (if I'm wrong, I'm sorry!) about finding out what side the placenta is attached on...I totally plan on asking when I get pregnant again! It is fun to see!

Is the placenta theory only valid up to a certain number of weeks? I saw bubs nub on the screen and thought it looked like a boy.

The boys got a football table for Christmas from fil. I now have in my living room the following furniture

Two three seater sofas
Massive footstall
Tv unit
Unit with tropical fish tank
Kids ikea chair
Corner unit with phone on
Bookshelf
Dinning table
Xmas tree (normally a wine rack where that is)
Football table
A mountain of cars and lego

I *think* the side the placenta is on is only valid very early on (like 6-10 weeks or something like that). I had a scan at 9 weeks and the corpus luteum was on the left ovary which means I ovulated on the left side and there are studies which say more girls are conceived with left handed ovulation - I think the side the placenta is is related to the side you ovulated from too? I'm not entirely sure about any of it!

Gosh you ladies have been busy this afternoon :) :HH:

Charliespy ~ I’m still full of cold, but had a midwife appointment this afternoon and my bp is still under control and i had no protein in my urine today so that’s good news :) Good luck tomorrow at your scan!! Can’t wait to see the scan pictures! Would be fun with a nub picture if you got one! I’ve heard 13 week is the best time for nub guesses?

Pinga ~ It is hard to know what to answer to that question! I totally agree :agree: after having had more of one gender it’s quite obvious we wouldn’t complain if we got blessed with an opposite iykwim it’s just such a stupid question IMO!
aww you must be so proud of your ds2! The first steps are sooo special! Soon he’ll be running everywhere ;)

Chocolate ~ when is your scan? The ramzi theory is most accurate between 6-8 weeks, the sooner the better! :agree:
why don't you do the urine ph test as well for fun :) You test your fmu with a ph test stick and if the ph is lower than 6 it's supposed to mean girl and if it's higher than 6 that indicates boy. From what i've heard it's supposed to be quite accurate.

Deaks ~ I have no idea why they would think that :S I disagree though, you still have a great chance of pregnancy with the second batch!

Inglewood ~ yay for having had the gender confirmed! :D :cheer: twin girlies, amazing!!!!!! xx

Hi, here is the link to where I got my left/right side theory from: Can we please test this out? Early Gender Prediction - BabyandBump (http://www.babyandbump.com/pregnancy-first-trimester/836146-can-we-please-test-out-early-gender-prediction.html)

"This is a multi-center prospective cohort study of 5376 pregnant women that underwent ultrasonography from 1997 to 2007. Trans-vaginal sonograms were performed in 22% of the patients at 6 weeks gestation, and Trans-abdominal sonograms were used at 18-20 weeks gestation, at this time the fetal gender were confirmed in 98-99%. The fetal sex was confirmed 100% after delivery. The study also addressed the bicornuate uteri with single pregnancy in relation to placenta / chorionic villi location. The result was tabulated according to gender and placenta / chorionic villi location. Bicornuate uteri with single fetus in different horns were studied and tabulated

Result
Dramatic differences were detected in chorionic villi / placental location according to gender. 97.2% of the male fetuses had a chorionic villi/placenta location on the right side of the uterus whereas, 2.4% had a chorionic villi/placenta location to the left of the uterus. On the other hand 97.5% of female fetuses had a chorionic villi/placenta location to the left of the uterus whereas, 2.7% had their chorionic villi/placenta location to the right side of the uterus. 127 cases were found to involve bicornuate uteri with single foetuses, most male fetuses were located in the right horn of the uterus and showed right placental laterality (70%). Most female fetuses 59% on the other hand, were located in the left horn and showed left laterality (59%).Moreover, most of the males located in the left horn exhibited right laterality (89%). Also most females located in right horn exhibited left laterality (976.4%). In addition this research indicated that there was a possible link between renal pyelectasis and placental location, and it might be used as a genetic soft marker.

Conclusion
Ramzi’s method is using placenta /chorionic villi location as a marker for fetal gender detection at 6 weeks gestation was found to be highly reliable. This method correctly predicts the fetus gender in 97.2% of males and 97.5% of females early in the first trimester. And it might be helpful to use as a genetic soft marker in relation with fetal pyelectasis.

In simple terms-

*placenta located on right- 97.2% chance it is a boy
*placenta located on left- 97.5% chance it is a girl
*in a bicornate uterus- 70% males implanted on right with right placental laterality; 59% implanted on left were female with left laterality
*those males that implanted on the left- exhibited right laterality 89% of the time.
*those females that implanted on the right exhibited left laterality of the time.

I don't think it's debunked but it's not set in stone either - of course you could have ovulated from the right / have placenta on the right and still get a girl. Don't worry!

yes the ramzi theory is very flawed! the only way to know for sure where the placenta has attached is to use colour doppler to establish where the blood flow is and that is not recommended at such early gestation. I wouldn't fret over this theory. My bean was attached in the middle bottom and on IG they went on about how it's much more common for boys to attach to the bottom while girls attach to the top so, yes as you can imagine i was obsessing after that thinking i had no chance of having a girl. This theory is just for fun and not set in stone

Ive not read much about the ramzi theory apart from that link, do you think its not worth asking where bubs has embedded? I would just presume placenta would attach around the same place as bubs so as long as it was not near the middle then I would think it would be obvious left or right from where baby was.

Hmm, maybe I wont ask about this at the scan as dont want to put any belief in it incase it convinced me of a certain gender as Ill prob. stick with what that indicates lol. I usually ovulate on my left but this month is felt like both and at times def. the right so have no idea going on that theory lol.
Not even sure Ill look into the nub, just dont want to get one gender stuck into my head you know, especially as not finding out.

chocolate ~ there's a good thread about it on ingender by Alsestis :agree: I think it's definitely worth asking for a bit of fun, but for me it ended up stressing me out more than anything lol. from what i've heard the corpus luteum is usually next to baby, but this isn't always the case so the only true way to confirm this is by using colour doppler to establish the blood flow. You also have take into account the orientation of the scan, and ask the sonographer which side is left and which side is right on your u/s pic. unfortunately however I have been told alot of sonographers are very dismissive of the ramzi theory and not willing to give out this information, a bit perhaps like some get when you mention the nub theory.. if you're curious it's definitely worth asking where the placenta has attached, there's no harm in asking :)

homebirthing princess, Id feel happy and deflated at the same time, I feel like that when I hear of friends having girls and hate myself for feeling like that.

Maybebabythree, I try and keep the disappointment away of thinking I may never have a girl by saying, 'but we may win the lottery and move to a big house and then I can have lots of kids and surely have a girl then too' lol!! I can dream!

Sunset, I think Id torture myself over the gender predictions from the ramzi theory and even the nub and skull theories so I think Ill leave it. Id love to know if it were def. a girl, but wouldn't want to know till birth if it were a boy as know Ill just be so happy to have him in my arms so wouldn't be worth a few months of possibly feeling a bit disheartened about not having a girl.

Good luck today Charlie xx

Morning,

I ended up going to bed at 7pm last night as I felt really sick!
Feel a bit better this am still a little on the nauseous side.

I'm also a sucker for girls clothes my eyes always get drawn to them first in shops. I did get a few nice jumpers for DS1 in the sale yesterday though.

Homebirthing princess I don't think i'm telling anyone my names this time round as I don't want to not be able to use them incase someone pips me to the post! On the sunny side she has a name that you love and think fondly of. Your husband sounds very sweet.

Chocolate Ramzi's theory sounds like fun. I think it's like the nub thing it's not a 100% but can give a good indication that could ultimately go the other way at the gender scan so it's weather your ok with that?

Hope you all have a good day. Can't believe it's all back to school soon! getting far to used to the 9 O'clock lay-ins and so are the boys!

I so hope it's a sign of a bfp. but will wait till tomorrow to test or even Saturday if I can! Might go and order some first response's now.

I got vouchers which I spent yesterday, alas nothing I liked in the sale but got some Raspberry pink jeans (not really a pink person but these were too amazing not to get and will look lovely in spring) and a new purse. Some CD's a few books one on sewing and the post secret books I asked after. Some clinique face cream as i'm 25 next week and prevention is better than cure :D!
New sewing box. Smellies, socks, nice necklace from my sister, massive zip up laundry bag which is amazing and has a lovely print on it. And money from DP's grandparents which will help to clear the Xmas overdraft thank god. And Chocolate.

Ooh i was in Cambridge shopping on the 27th, maybe we passed each other, lol. You would certainly have needed lunch after 4 hours shopping!!

Still feeling sick also have a dull ache on my left side bit like af and in the same place where i've been having sharp short crampy pains a few days ago and a few days before that. Gave in and tested on an internet cheapie and bfn.
Hope it's just too early.

Here we go ladies x Button measuring in at 13wks 3 days :D all good bar having to have 2 scans with different sonographers lots of prodding poking moving more prodding more poking to try and get the NT measurements but they finally got there. We got to see lots of button too! No sign of any nub though!! Not on the pic and not on the scan - however the potty shot looked rather boy like :S 3 mounds the middle bit poking out more.......so no nub to guess on just skull shape and my description of its potty shot!

Went to mw today. All was good - phew! She said if I feel at all worn out to get the doctor to sign me off work asap as pe can on very badly from nowhere with no warning.

Kell your presents sound lovely! I got Molton brown and debenhams vouchers from dh.

Hbp I told mil about my girl name and she phoned when sil was expecting a girl so she could double check the name to offer it to sil!!! I was mad!!! That is my daughters name!!! She will never be in my tummy or my arms but is still her name!! I have told a few people my boys name who mostly tell me they hate it. In future I will keep all names to me and dh! I have a weird Celtic spelling for this baby boy so that will piss people off!

It's so hard to think of names as it is!

Also my sil askedy mil why I didn't choose to have a dd - one word answer for sil "bimbo" how fricking thick can you be?

As to the clothes thing. My girl would be like one of those gypsy wedding girls! I have chav her to the max in lace socks and bobble cardis and lace sheets on the old fashion victorian pram lol!! Just as well I have no daughter hee hee!

Lavender I think knowing so Early in pregnancy makes things drag! I knew at 3weeks 5days and it feels like an age ago!!

Ive become so lethargic since Christmas, I can't seem to get going during the day at all, Charlie will wake at around 8ish, we lay in bed watching telly for ages, I just feel so sleepy and ill until around 3 and then I am ok for a couple of hours. If I could I would just stay in bed. I really hope it goes because I'm back to work on Tuesday :(

hello hello

Charlie - scan looks great. I have no idea I'm afraid... I'm useless at guessing. I've obssessed over mine and gone a bit mad looking for things. There is a clear nub shot on my video though and it looks decidedly boy! I don't think the potty shot is relevant at this stage. Its all about the angle of the dangle... so you're definitely not out of the running.

Chocolate - Ernie is 3 (today :) ) and Percy is 16 months - both my boys took ages to start walking!!

I didn't ask what side bubs implanted on but my placenta is at the front. I guess that means I won't feel bubs as much.

hubbie and I went out for dinner and to see The Importance of Being Earnest last night... it had Geoffrey Rush in. Very good. So lovely to go out... we just don't go enough...

Oh name stealing is bad. People always ask me what my girl names would have been and I never say. I did tell my close friend my possible fave names for #3 and when she had her 2nd she said she had considered using both my boy name and my girl name!!! I was not pleased.... she had a girl and luckily her hubbie poo-pooed the girls name! I only tell people the names I've decided not to use.

Happy Birthday to your Ernie, more pressies lol

Yes name stealing is just morally wrong, why are some people just so rude?!!!

Im feeling a bit annoyed at the in-laws - I asked my sil who she went to the panto with and she never said, then my mum said it was with the mil (OH's mum) - so far they have all been to Paultons Park twice together, on holiday together, and to panto together. Deliberately not mentioning they were all going together - only find out when my niece mentions they were there. Just annoyed as my DS1 is 3 and is starting to notice we rarely see them, they see him about every 4 to 6 weeks for a 45 minute visit and live 5 mins up the road. My OH doesnt help matters as doesnt particularly make the effort with them either, but I would feel bad going on holiday with my daughter and not inviting my son, or to paultons park and panto etc. Just think its soo rude. Trying to let it go but since finding out last night Ive been stewing on it!

Hope you all have a fab day xx

Chocolate it's a bit like that with oh's family.
His mum took two sisters and one grandson to disney land Paris last year, it was a birthday treat. Did we get an invite... Nope. What do out kids get for a birthday present, £20 in a card or if they are lucky I get the money to buy them something.
It really riles me but oh doesn't really care!

Kell - hugs its so sad when you can see that your kids get the raw deal in things....brings out our maternal instinct to protect them too x DH dad and step mum are out of this world when it comes to treating our kids like dirt compared to the step mums grandchildren. When ds2 was born he was given 1 babygrow from a pack of 2....that was it (blatant left over from her grandson a few months older) for brithdays xmas they get F all - its not just that there is no thought in the presents, they brought her grandson a PS3 our kids got 2 mini games from sainsburys, indy a small teddy and a milky bar! They also spend no time with them at all - saying all this i am quite happy not to see them they expect my kids to play with them interact with them but they dont really know them. 2012 plan so far is make DH look for another job - i cant keep doing weekends on my own - if he was off in the week a bit then maybe but he leaves 8.20 in the morning and isnt home till 7pm then sometimes works all weekend too - he gets mondays off but thats the day i work. So that is top priority to change whether it can get better I dont know i hope so. So then we get more time as a family, I have my dads wedding (dreading it) in may then my BF wedding in june (cannie wait!!!) then baby in july lol ooooh and france in august so should be fun. Would love to get new flooring for the kitchen/diner but i think decorating our bedroom is more within reach - still havnt got curtains! Oh and trying to decide where baby will go :S

Kell
December 30th, 2011, 06:26 AM
I'm not really sure about 2012, tbh it's probably gonna be a bit of a write off, other than having the baby of course. I would have been going to uni but that's been put on hold.
We need a bigger house but realistically the only way that will happen is if I rent my place out and we rent also, but dp is dead against renting so I'm really not sure what we are going to do. My sister would have my house in a heart beat and when the recession passes would probably buy it as well. I just need to figure out a way of persuading him we need to rent.
2 adults, and two full time children plus two other children and a dog, well soon to be two dogs in a 2 bed house it's chaos in my house and it drives me mad!

Charliespy ~ what a cute bean!!! I guess girl based on the skull theory, but i’m definitely no pro unfortunately. IG is down for me too! I don’t know if you’re automatically logged in when you go to the page? If you are, DON’T log out! I did and since then all I get is the monkeys :( I can’t even read posts at the moment.

Chocolate ~ oh that’s an every weekend occurrence with my in laws. Dh has 2 brothers and a sister and my MIL ALWAYS goes on shopping trips and days out with them all, but never think to invite us along. We always go around on a Sunday for tea and just the other Sunday actually we went around in the afternoon and no one was home, turns out MIL had gone Christmas shopping with dh’s sister, older brother and his fiancé but didn’t think to ring my dh to ask him if perhaps we wanted to come along? No, of course not, we’re just meant to bring the kids around on a silver plate every Sunday afternoon and they just expect us to sit and wait for them while they’re out doing their Christmas shopping like a happy little family. I am beyond fed up with my PIL!! And being pregnant is just highlighting the problem. I feel as if all I am to them is a vessel carrying their grandchild, because not once did they bother to visit me in hospital to see how i was doing or to offer to babysit the kids so dh could spend time with me, he actually had to ASK them to babysit while he went to the hospital. But i can assure you that as soon as my daughter enters this world they will be the first to visit even though they never bothered while i was in with pre-eclampsia. Sorry for the rant, I just wanted to say I know where you’re coming from and it’s bloody annoying!

Pinga ~ it’s always best not to tell people! I don’t ever give my names away :)

Kell ~ hope you feel better soon!

Lavenderlime ~ fx it’s just too early! When are you expecting af to show?

HappyLea ~ glad to hear your dad is on the mend! It must have been a very scary time for you all! When is it you’re planning to start the diet and supps?

Wishing4pink ~ When are you planning to start ttc? April?

AFM ~ went to the GP this morning to get some more bp medicine and he seems to think I need to up my dose to 3 tabs a day instead of 2... and he based that on one simple BP check after i’d just spent half an hour trying to get the kids ready and stress to the gp surgery at silly o’clock in the morning to make it on time. I’m not convinced doing one BP check is going to give a very accurate result? I guess i’m just not happy to up my dose without speaking to a “real doctor” first :( and besides, the BP meds are making me feel very dizzy and weak at times.. don’t like it at all.

Sorry for ranting when really i should be grateful i’ve made it to 36 weeks. One of my friends had her baby girl on the 23rd at 26+2 weeks gestation :( so far she’s suffered a severe brain bleed so no one knows what the effects of that will be or if she’ll even make it :( and when i was in hospital the woman in the bed opposite me got given the news on Christmas eve (after having spent 4 weeks in hospital with pre-eclampsia) that they would need to delivery her baby that same afternoon, she was only 28 weeks pregnant. And it’s such a terrible thought to think that regardless of when i go into labour (tomorrow or in a month’s time) her baby boy will still be in the neonatal unit while i recover in the postnatal ward..

Hi all, so much to catch up on!!

Charlie, beautiful scan pic, I obsessed over mine, esp the skull theory and thought boy! I'm no expert at all, but it does look like some of my early scan pics, the flat forehead shape??? Will u find out @ 16wks?

Sunset, hope u are well? what's happening with you at the moment?

To those chatting about the 'names' Dh and I have kinna decided on 2 girls names which if at my 4d I am told both girls I will share with u ladies only!! Don't want to jinx by saying now (I'm superstitious!) lol I wouldn't tell anyone at home as I know 2 girls due soon and would be devastated if they were used. It's funny but when pg with ds2 my name was 'Evie' even when swaying, but since I've found out there are 2 in there, we choose names that kinna match... you will all know what I mean in a few wks if I'm def told girls....still can't make myself believe it from my 20 and 22wks scans... too scared to believe it yet. I will also tell what my boys names are, just for anyone's interest!

Deaks and lavender, when do u ladies test???? Excited for u both. x

Working tonight :( feeling really achy...like a military operation turning in bed some nights!! Not sure how much longer I can go... Got a leaky left nipple!! My usual at 20wks + pg....the joys of breast pads that u try and convince urself no-one can see and wakening with one side of my top soaking wet!! bi-passing the breast pad!! FUN!

Maybe, ur SIL is a bit of twat! if only it was that easy to simply wake up one day and 'choose' and what sex of baby we had....we wouldn't all be here!

For xmas I got my fav perfume from Dh Bvlgari, pj's, smellies, 2 books on how to bring up 'twins' lol and lots more nice things...

2012 for us will be crazy!! House up for sale, new car/bus, 2 babies.... my main worry is selling my house, I won't rent after owning my own home since I was 19 (now 32), Dh would but I think we should sell and just buy a 3 bed (in 2 bed now). We moved here 4 yrs ago from a bigger 3 bed semi-detached house with the intention of lots of extensions and conversions being detached, (dh was/is a joiner and wanted a 'project' since he left the trade) but don't like it here anymore and ds1 miserable at the village school. So we are going back to the town and house size we had (hopefully), which makes this house a very expensive mistake!!

My Dh is 35 tomorrow!! Can't believe where the past 10yrs have gone...I remember I met him the summer just before his 25th b'day, time flies... His twin sister is devastated to be 35, I'm 33 in Feb and couldn't care, still feel mid-twenties!!! we are still young!!! But she's taking it hard, my Dh doesn't care about ages, thankfully he just accepts it! Ask me if he's still saying that in another 10yrs!!! lol

Better go feed my boys, then once Dh home need to pop out to see a friend, her b'day today and get some shopping.
Hopefully I get a minute to pop on before work.
Have a good day ladies... xx

Sorry in advance this is going to be a bit of a me, me, me post.

I've never had such strong indications of being pregnant with either of boys it's all so text book this time,

Been feeling like i'm car sick on and off through out the whole day, gets worse after eating
I have wind (burping) Not eating anything gassy or drinking anything fizzy.
feel tired
crampy dull pain in left side yesterday and sort sharp cramping pains a few days before and a few days before that
dull period type pains today
and have just been to the loo and wiped and have light pink discharge with a small bit of blood in it. wiped again and it was gone.
Also had to take my bra off yesterday as my boobs were aching.
Now have a headache.

So far 3 BFN one yesterday one at 3 a.m this morning had to pee twice in the night so thought I may as well test.
And at 9 a.m with FMU.

Drove to Tesco's and they didn't have any first responses at the pharmacy just clearblue and Tesco's own brand.
Drove all around town and couldn't find a aprking space so gave up!!

AAhhhhhhhhh why is my body convinced it's pregnant and the test are still negative??? I'm between 9-11 DPO I think but not really sure??

Sorry just had to tell someone as I've never had such strong indications of pregnancy before.

Sunset, what is it with in laws, honestly!! We are all going to be super mum in laws one day after our experiences though.
Very sad when you hear about other people's babies coming early, one of my fears which is also why Im not finding out the gender because Id still worry something would go wrong as Id feel like 'surely Id never get a girl anyway so something would go wrong' sort of thing.

Charlie, feel for you, you have the idea of having a family and doing things together and it doesnt always work out like that. My OH is doing over time so leaves home at 7am and back 11pm 3 days a week then does 7am to 5pm the other 2 days and sometimes has a meeting and conveniently comes back at 703pm once kids are in bed!

Kell Ive considered renting ours out and renting somewhere bigger but not sure Im up to all that, I have looked at houses we could get for even adding an extra £100,000 to the mortgage (dreaming) and it isnt worth it as you hardly get anything better, if anything its worse as we gain a room but loose the garden and good area! We do have a loft room which has been converted so will prob. use that one day.

Indigoviolet sorry for the sickness, one of the worst things of pregnancy, yuck! Good girl sign though lol

Inglewood, you def. have a busy year coming! Could you finnish the house and rent it out and rent somewhere else, or at least finnish it quickly to add more value (if its worth doing?) Sorry your son isnt happy at school, makes me sad to think that as my DS is due to start next September just as our next is due and its really worrying me as he is a sensitive Mummies boy and it will be such long days - 9am to 330pm and with a baby due or newly arrived.

Sunset I LOVE the name River - DH isn't into my hippy / plant names thou - boo to him!

Ugh don't get me started on in laws. Most of you will remember what happened with me and MIL over summer. When ever I think of her my blood boils!! Spoke to the old boot on xmas day - first question was how much weight had I put on??? At seven months PG!!!! Told her I had lost 8lbs and she didn't seen to concerned that the baby might suffer for it. As long as I look good who gives a frig about the baby eh? looks are all that matter! Hopefully the baby will be slim too! She also said ds1 looked good when he had jundice as it looked like he was tanned - what a div!

Sunset one of my best friends got pre eclampsia at 26 weeks and had the baby the day after they found out. Poor little girl did not fair at all well. Not sure if she is blind deaf and brain damaged now :¬( Thankfully I made 30 weeks now. Midwife is cautiously optermistic for me

So what size houses do we all have? I'm in three bed semi but want to move to a four bed detached but it means moving 15 miles to a less nice area. Also I don't own this place so it would be getting a 320k mortgage from nothing (never going to happen but nice dream) We do own and rent a place out back in Kent but we got that for 145k. Its worth about 120k now. I want to win the lottery! No idea at all where this baby is going to go. I really do not have the room for the crib never mind the cot. Ho hum. I would love to move somewhere where I could get a summer house for the garden. I would have a pool table and TV in there for the boys when they hit their teens. Then DH and the boys could be in there and I would get some peace!!

Charlie - Id do the same with searching for potty shots which is why Im going to try to be really good and not look and not post pics to ask gender as I know if someone says 'boy Ill be like 'thats it, Im having a boy for sure'

Lavenderlime hope they have them in stock I had to ask them to get an extra one out as there wasnt enough for the bogof, she said they sell so quickly they have to keep some asside!

Maybe - we moved from a 2 double bedroomed semi to a 3 bed semi which has a converted loft room, but getting to it is a pain as its through the smallest room so would make the smallest room extra small if we had stairs up to it again, hoping we can put some up there via the extra bit in our room. No room to extend either Im afraid, but we do have a bigger garden and get this - we have one of those log cabin things! has 2 sides but full of junk!! Came with the house and I do dream of decluttering and turning it into a childs play room or my OH and the boys tc room lol.

Charlie - you're like me, I got SO obsessed with trying to guess baby's gender after my NT scan. Before that I really didn't want to see a nub photo and was going to try and wait until birth to find out - of course in the end I booked a private gender scan at 16 weeks so I went completely the other way! It was just driving me too mad wondering.

Lavender - I think sickness in the 2ww is something to do with progesterone? I felt very sick with this one in the 2ww and with the others it was the only time I felt sick during pregnancy! This was the only pregnancy I had loads of symptoms and had that 'feeling' I was pregnant.

We used to have a 4 bed detached house but we moved to a little cottage! We didn't like the area our old house was in (it was on a new housing estate) and we love where we live now, in a village on the edge of a town so we can walk in to the country in one direction and in to town in the other and the town is lovely, full of gift-type shops and coffee shops. I get so excited when somebody has a birthday because I can go around all the little shops and buy something! Our cottage was 2 beds when we moved in but we did an extension late last year. We wanted 4 bedrooms but the conservation officer made a fuss about our planning application and we ended up with 3 bedrooms and a much bigger downstairs. It's still not big (probably not really big enough for our family!) but we love it - the 3 biggest boys share a room and DS3 and the new baby will share when she moves out of our room. DS3 could go in with his big brothers as their room is a good size but I'd rather they were in pairs, we'll have to see if they both fit in DS3's small bedroom! I'm thinking of having some small size bunk beds made for them :D Even though it's completely crazy and hectic I love that there are so many of us all bundling in together. I'm sure the boys will feel differently when they're teenagers and we may let one of them move downstairs to our 'den' at that point - though I'm already worried about him climbing in and out the window during the night, I'd be terrible in a bungalow!!

Do you know I didn't even think about triple bunks this may be they route we go so all the boys have a bed, I know realistically we will be here for a few months while baby is little.
Just had a quick look I quite like the look of this one http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=170676949388&index=11&nav=SEARCH&nid=86509861309
I think they would separate out quite easily once we get a bigger house rather than the metal framed ones that can't be changed.

We live in a three bed semi. So we'll move the boys into DS's room and get bunk beds but I'm really sad as I lOVE ds's bed it's an iron bed, re-powder coated in a glossy red paint and from a de-serviced Navy ship it's so high he needs a step stool to get in! It's amazing.

I really want the bunk bed version but because it was from an antique shop the reality of finding one is slim! The couple who sold me the bed just specialise in antique childrens beds so have my name on the list if they ever come across one.

DP is insistant we need a 4 bed detached but I think we've still got another 4 years left in this house. Plus I love the village and type of house we want costs about £400-£500k in our area. So we'd need a big winfall! Or for me to get a full time job so we could get a better morgage. Sighhh we'll at least i've got 4 years to save, ponder and play the lottery!

This is the site I've found for bunkbeds:

Bunk beds our many styles (http://pinebed.co.uk/page8.html)

Do any of your children already share rooms? My eldest two are incredibly close and I'm glad they share a room because I think that's part of the reason - but they don't sleep half as well as they did when they had separate rooms!!

My boys have their own rooms right now, they will probably share in about 18 months time when the next one needs to vacate our room lol, but then I may put the 2 youngest together - not sure, just worry they will disturb each other. Also thought about bunk beds but wonder if it would disturb them when one rolls over. Like the cabin beds but I think the smallest room won't fit 2 of those in unless I convince my OH to swap rooms so the boys can have the master room with en-suite and us have the smallest but would be a squeeze getting our king size in there. We need a 6 or 7 bed detached ha ha!

HI Ladies

Hope you are all well, lavendar it all sounds very promising hope you get a BFP so very soon!!

Who else is testing too?

We live in a three bed semi (feel very sorry for my neigbours!!) Three boys share a room but DS1 who is 8 keeps asking for his own room, dd has her own room, I would like to either move or extend but both options are incredibly expensive, we did convert the garage to a play room and so I supose in a few years time when DS1 is older I'd maybe let him have it but I'd be nervous about him sleeping away from everyone else!! There is a five bed house gone up for sale just around the corner from us for 179,999 started out at 205,999 and even thats unheard of trying to figure out why its so cheap!! Most four bed houses are at least 225,000, it did start out as a 3 bed but has been extended, its the first on a cul de sac off quite a busy road and close by to some shops so may be thats why its so cheap?! Thing is if I had a 5 bed I'd probably end up with another baby feeling so broody at the min!!!

My boys have their own rooms but prefer to be together top and tailing in the bottom of the bunk bed! Very cute and totally up to them. I think baby will go in ds1s bedroom but as that's the box room dh has built a cabin bed over the slope of the stairs so the bed has to stay. If I moved I would have room for another baby! But I really want another living room. I am looking at a place where they have converted the garage and extended it along the side of the house. Oh to have a adult sitting room and a family living room!! But who am I kidding - it would be more room for Lego...

lots of housing chatter :) DH and I are just renting. We're in a 3 bed house and we'll move the boys in together when the time comes - they are currently in seperate rooms. Over here most houses are single storey. Would love our own house but its just hard while I'm not working and we need at least a 3 bed place.

We were discussing boys names the other day (again!) and we are stumped. I think we're running out of names that we agree on. I've decided we're having a boy by the way. :) We have a while before we have to seriously think about names!!

Just booked our summer holiday - we're going camping by the beach towards the end of Jan. Looking forward to it. The boys will love it.

its 8.30 and Ernie is STILL asleep! He was up at 4am for an hour and kept getting up! arghh. I'm up early still because Percy woke up at his usual 6.30am :P DH never gets up in the night to deal with the boys! Grrrrr....

oh and hope everyone has a Happy New Year!!!!! No plans here... :) Funnily enough nobody wants to babysit on new years eve... and I think I'll want an early night :) What a party animal I am these days....

I ended up on the boys bottom bunk because dp was snoring so bad, only had a silly blanket because he decided to walk the dog and not keep her out the kids room where she decided to plonk herself on the quilt on the bed.
So I've had about 3-4 hours sleep and I'm in a great mood! Happy days! :)

ARGHHHH!!! lost my post!!!

I'm in a 2 bed detached bungalow/cottage type. Huge garden thankfully as we are on the main road full of HGV traffic! Wasn't as bad as it is now when we moved here, or we both agreed we wouldn't of bought it. We totally overpaid for the house and now we have prob lost around 15-20K in 4 yrs, which is a shame as we put alot of the £ we made from our last sale to buy this place and now we will have to take what we get, thankfully won't be in -ve equity, but can't afford to increase our mortagage!! We have spend around 10k of our own £ doing up the house, which we won't get back either.

Z, both my boys have shared since they were 4 and 9mths and I wouldn't have it any other way as ds2 is a FAB sleeper having his big bruv in the room with him and hopefully the twins are the same! Ds1 was never out our bed, ds2 has rarely been in our bed unless he's unwell.

Well, my dad almost here. He's watchimg boys to let me sleep a while as it's Dh's b'day and we are going to see Puss in Boots later in 3d at the cinema (Dh's request..lol) Was nightshift.

Lavender, I think u'll get ur BFP! days ago u said u felt sicky and I remember thinking "ahh....she's pg" so FX a New yr BFP would be great!

Happy new year to you all :HH: what's everyone doing today? we haven't got much planned at all, and dh's parents haven't offered to babysit as per usual even though i know they haven't got any plans. so it will be a quiet evening for us. Thinking of buying some fireworks to let off tonight with the boys, but no other plans

We live in a 4 bed town house (new build) which we rent and my 2 boys share a room. We do have the space for them to have their separate rooms if we wanted to but they love sharing a room and sleep so much better because of it. DS1 always used to have sleep problems until we moved ds2 into his room and now they both sleep soundly every night. I know most people think i'm crazy when i say this, but we've decided to let dd share room with the boys as well for the first few years, simply because I think it's made my boys feel so much safer at night not sleeping in a room on their own and besides, they have so much fun and i wouldnt want dd missing out just because she's a girl and they're boys.

charlie - try not to stress yourself about it. Although I'm being a bit of a hypocrite as I did that after my scan. Although after posting my video everyone said boy and there are 2 really clear boy nub shots :P hence I'm convinced I have a boy. If all you saw was a potty shot... don't stress. Its WAY too early to use potty shots as an indication of gender. Look at this site... the pictures of the bubbas genitals look soooo similar at 11 wks pregnant!! Embryo Development external genital sex organs - angle of the dangle boy or girl ultrasound gender scan - Baby2see (http://www.baby2see.com/gender/external_genitals.html)

oh hun i know it doesn't make you feel better, but 13 weeks really is too early! the nub is still visible at that point which would make a potty shot look boy-ish. girls and boys do look so much alike at that gestation!!! your little bubs could well still be a girl, please try not to get too upset hun :hug2:

Kell, hope your DP got up, mine got up at 7am with the kids and I got up at 930am :) as havent slept well for 2 nights, sods law as Isaid the night before that I was sleeping so well and so easily lol

Inglewood, enjoy the cinema later, out of interest did you suspect twins early on? Any signs? I keep having these twins dreams and only imagine twins, wierd!

Maybe- yes Id love an adult room and a separate family room!

Sunset - I think its lovely for siblings to share, I think it makes them closer and more tolerable to each other and better at sharing. Ive seen some L shaped bunk beds which look pretty cool, means the bottom is seperate from the top so if one moves the one underneath doesnt rock lol. Maybe I could do the same design but with a cabin bed and seperate single under neath

Charlie - I meant to say: I can completely understand why you are thinking boy, I would think that too (not by what you have seen) just because I am not a very positive person with myself and my dreams. Do you have any hope left for a girl? How do you feel? Just wondering if you are thinking 100% boy then maybe its best to find out? Then you can know for sure if boy or girl and be able to have time to think on it and then get excited. This is why I am not going to look at all at nubs/skull etc as one hint of a boy even without confirmation will have me think '100% boy and I may not enjoy the pregnancy as much.
However I think the skull of your bubs looks girly! And dont girls also have 3 mounds anyway the middle one being the nub which is always big to begin with and shrinks into the clitoris by about week 16?

Chocolate, I had no idea there was 2 in there, although my 6wk 1d scan pic from when I was cramping showed 2 little white dots and my SIL when she saw the pic said that's twins and we all LAUGHED!!!! but since only 1 had a heart beat, the sonographer said only 1! I cramped badly with them boys early on and was really sick with ds2 (both 'can' be twin signs if severe). With dh being a twin, he always wondered, but I NEVER gave it a 2nd thought!!! lol I have actually kept alot better this pg than with ds2 from 14wks, think the huge weight loss pre-pg on my sway has helped!

Charlie, I think the skulls look different shapes? I'm no expert but try not stress, I went thru MANY stressful days and still do worry, but why don't u book a gender scan in a few wks to know either way?

deaks66
December 31st, 2011, 10:11 AM
Ar charlie i really feel for you hun! i will feel exactly same when it is eventually my turn. The skull is definately a different shape to your ds3's. Here is the link on IG about skull shapes in case you hadnt managed to find it...

For fun - Skull shape tells gender 92% accurate - In-Gender.com (http://www.in-gender.com/cs/forums/p/128026/1232746.aspx)

Its not possible to determine whether a baby has a pointy head from a profile shot, but the prominent forehead definately looks girly in your shot :) But then charliecats on IG has stated that you cant determine gender from skull shape at this age and that it is just for fun.

Might be worth you having a gender scan to set your mind at rest either way. I wound myself up good and proper about ds2 but knowing one way or the other definately helped. Keeping my fx for a little girl for you! X

Happy New Year ladies! DS1 has asked to stay up until midnight so it'll be funny to see how long he lasts - unless I fall asleep first!

I've been in bed reading for most of the evening - I keep thinking I'm having period type pains but they're so mild I think I'm imagining it. I've felt a few kicks this week but not nearly enough for my liking and it's making me worry so every little niggle sends me in to a spin! On a positive note, DH and I have decided on a name for the baby. My favourite name is Phoebe and his is Sofia and my nan's name (Grace) has to be in there somewhere - so she'll either be Phoebe Sofia Grace or Sofia Phoebe Grace. We may wait until she's born to see which suits her best!

Morning,

Well lunch!

Feeling a little bit sorry for myself, but that's mostly because I worked into the early hours last night and had two glasses of wine as it turns out I'm a total light weight now!!

Drank wine because spotting turned into AF so gutted never ever felt more pregnant in my life. AF doesn't normally start with pink spotting and was/is much lighter than normal and took longer to actually start properly but too heavy and constant for implantation bleeding suprised I didn't break the computer googling. So not sure what that was all about :(. Back on the cranberry supliments today I was too worried to start incase there was a small chance I was pregnant. Any who two weeks and I get to try again :).

TLMAC thank you my gift arrived today and it's so lovely! Perfect! THANK YOU SO MUCH x

Happy new year to you all! :HH:
The new year has not started well for me. I've had a blazing headache since yesterday and I'm in hospital now for my scheduled bp profiling and since I got here my bp has done nothing but rise so I'm not allowed home and my hope for a natural birth is out the window. They're looking at inducing me in the next few days.. All depending on if they can stabilise my bp or not..

Lavenderlime I'm so sorry af showed :( I really though you would get your bfp this month

Zanacal don't worry about mild period cramps, I've had them on/off throughout this pregnancy and apparently it's because baby is going through a growth spurt.

Hello to everyone else :) hope 2012 brings us lots of pink bfp's and babies :)

Thank you so much Sunset, that's really reassured me. I'm sorry you're BP isn't behaving but I'm so excited that you get to meet your baby girl this week - argh! I hope the birth goes swimmingly, plenty of ladies who have been induced have positive stories to tell - and in this case we just need that little girl out so you can get back to being healthy again!

I'm sorry Lavender, I had high hopes for you too. Don't worry about the wine for one more minute!

oh lavender, so sorry af turned up... but glad you are already looking forward to your next attempt. You have done so well with the diet. I have been off the diet since christmas eve so will be starting afresh from tomorrow or tues. I have drunk alcohol every day which i feel a bit guilty about but then i've given up thinking about possibly being pg. x

Sorry Lavender for af and cruel pg symptoms, not fair!

Sunset, sorry your bp is rising, well done for getting to 37 weeks though, how fab!!

Went to the in laws today, knackered! My youngest was into everything. The nan in law said 'I do wish you have a daughter next, 2 boys and then a little girl would be lovely' I just 'don't know about that lol' not knowing what to say, I always play down wanting a girl saying Ive heard the teenage years are tough' lol. Then she said 'what would your girl names be' to which I said 'Ive never really had any, I did like Isabella but Ive gone off that now'. She will be the one to say 'poor you with no girl' in a genuine compasionate way if we never have a dd, but really I just dont want to hear it. Although it didnt effect me emotionally today at all so thats good.

:celebrate:HAPPY NEW YEAR:celebrate: Hoping 2012 bring us lots of joy with new babies and more bfp's!

Hope you all had a great Hogmany? We brought the bells in watching TV then both fell asleep on the couch! lol

Sunset, hope ur Bp is ok? I had a shocking headache just before ds2 was born due to my Bp and it's not nice at all. Keep us posted!

Z, lovely names. I love Sophia too, very girlie!!

Lavender, sorry Af arrived.

Deaks, have u tested?

Indigo, you replied as I still do! I tell everyone I'm sure it's 2 boys and that will be just lovely! Yes I got my SS!! and I thanked my Santa!! they added a special wee girlie hat selection which was a lovely touch!

Chocolate, glad the nan-in law didn't get u down, some people just never think before they open their mouths, often I know they don't mean any harm by saying it, but it's rude other times.

Babymad, are u still away? enjoying time away?

TLM, glad I guys made up :)

I have had a rotten day :( Pains over my bump, at the top, like a stitch but more painful and I got all paranoid I couldn't feel the baby on my left side move. Can feel 1 baby, but usually now can tell when either twin is moving but think they have just moved from side to side to top and bottom of my belly and that's why I am so sore at the top (stretching). I've cried it was so sore and all I was doing was cooking a fry-up for Dh. See the midwife on wed, but if I'm still worried tom, I'm calling for advice. Like Z, I've had period like pains and my back was EXTRA sore lying in bed then getting out of bed this morning. Just don't feel 'right', can't explain it. We went to the cinema to see Puss in boots 3d and I had to go to the loo 3 times!!! then fell asleep in the last 10-15mins!! Wondering if I have a UTI??? Urine very concentrated and smelly (sorry too much info) and going as often??

I had bloods taken at 8wks, but that's it. Anyone had more taken before 22wks?? My mum thinks I look very pale.

Going to look online for cars tomorrow, dreading it as I'm the sensible one and DH just wants a car that looks good, regardless of the Tax, ins etc...he's not very realistic!!!

Hope u all had a good start to 2012! xx

Inglewood - it's all such a worry isn't it? I'm sure you must be getting more than your fair share of stretching pains and whatnot given that you're making a home for two babies! I just feel like crap today, more like I'm 40 weeks pregnant than 20! It doesn't bode well for the next few months! I think I get my bloods tested at my next m/wife appointment which isn't until 28 weeks - nothing from 16 weeks until 28 weeks which I think is a bit long for most women's peace of mind!

Inglewood, hope all this pain subsides for you and that you get reassurance this week. I am 6dpo and obviously imagining every pg symptom under the sun but realistically i think a bfp will be very doubtful this month.

It really bothers me. Love Sophia but it's the same deal as long as your ok with it. Hope I didn't overstep just telling you from my experience with the # 1 boys name ;(

No, not at all - it's one of my concerns too. However, there are no other Sofias in my boys' school or in my sister's children's school so perhaps it's just not popular around here! There are plenty of Ella/Ellies, Imogens, Isabels and Eve/Evie/Eva/Avas though!

Phoebe was always my first choice but Sofia is growing on me so I'm delaying making a final decision!
