OMG my doppler was a lifesafer! we first heard DS at nearly 10 weeks and it was amazing! listened right before my dating scan because I needed to hear that he/she was alive and that I wouldn't be going in to see a motionless baby on the screen again.

I also kept setting targets to reach in order to feel safer, but there's always a new one, isn't there?

will you use the doppler next time?

Probably! I mean, I have it packed away with odds and bits in our bedroom wardrobe. No doubt there will get a point where I just have to get it out and replace the batteries and listen again!

well i didnt even get hardly any EWCM, my cervix wasnt even that high, but got a + opk on a CB digital and an internet cheapie, then woke this morning my temp had gone up and my cervix very low posterior and firm, i have some white globy tad stretchy CM though, so i havent got a clue whats happened to me, you sound like you did ovulate though hun, my ph has shot down from 7.5 before diet to 4.5 now aswel, so im hoping its the diet that changed all my ovulation and its not the fact that i didnt O this month,

Did you end up O'ing and having and attempt?

Yes I agree with you HOPE.! I think I might aim for 2 attempts say one 10 hrs after + opk then wait another 12hrs and attempt again??

I think you can miss the egg like that. I would do one at +opk and the day after.

we should burn them to disc to put in their memory boxes!

I think that would be OK.. at earliest she shouldn't OV until 12hrs after a pos OPK so DTD 10 hours after should still catch it

I used an Angelsounds one:
there is a technique to them, especially when using them earlier and especially the earlier you do it the more difficult it is to find the heartbeat because the heart is SO tiny then... but I did manage to find the heartbeat at every attempt, sometimes with more patience than others: Angel Sounds Baby Fetal Doppler Heart Monitor With FREE CDs + GEL + RECORDING CABLE + BATTERY + NOTE CARD: Amazon.co.uk: Baby (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sounds-Doppler-Monitor-RECORDING-BATTERY/dp/B002YHQ524/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1327855781&sr=8-2)

perhaps the digital ones are less sensitive than most others so picks up the peak of the surge instead of the start of the surge- I've not tried it to see!

Although they didn't mail me any gel with it! I used olive oil - HA HA! It works, though... I also used water. Was just fine.

i have a doppler too,, its an ebay cheapie, babysoundsB ,was less than $30, but works really well, and has picked up bubs from about 10-11 weeks.

also has the BPM display, and recording options, so you can record it and upload it etc.
its great if you are having one of those unsettles days.

I just ordered the same exact one. Hearing all you ladies talk about hearing the heartbeat at 10 weeks made me want one too.

i actually have a little portable ipod speaker i plug into mine.
better than the earphones, they can deafen you if you get a kick.....high staticy, crackly noises, not good for your ears at high volume...lol

Just woundering for my next attempt would it be a good idea to get the smile opk test?? Are they better then the line tests ?

Mochagirl
January 30th, 2012, 07:39 AM
pink - I'd definitely get the smilie tests if I were you. They're expensive, but they leave no room for guesswork, which I like. What I did was use cheaper ones until they started to get darker, then switched to smilies. I still took ics in the evening as well just to make sure I didn't miss my surge, but the digi in early afternoon was my main test.

Hey pinkin, I bought my clearblue OPK from OKMe.com.au (online pharmacy). They were $44.95 for 7 tests. I bought a few other things at the same time, so it ended up being free postage. I think they are at least $70 if you go into a pharmacy here. I also use the other type to check to see when it starts getting darker before using the clearblue ones. I only got to use 2 last time, so I have plenty left that I can use in February. I do prefer them as there is no doubting when you get your surge, and then you don't keep doing them after that. Just BD and check your BBT until you confirm you did O.

Suregena and Rainbow, I am your official cheerleader now! I'm pretty sure I'm out (just waiting on AF now after BFN and temp drop) so I think you're my only hope! I'm sending you both all the BFP dust I can muster. We need SOMEONE from this thread to get a BFP this round and I've got my fingers and toes crossed for both of you! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Hi. We came home from the hospital last night. ds (newly 3) had no fever (had been 103 and above since last Sat) for first time last night. Yay!! I literally have not slept since last Saturday. The nurses and doctors were in our room every hour to monitor fevers and symptoms. I assume my body was probably feeling stress from it all but I brought all my lavender products and ion bracelets and just tried to stay calm. The diet was maybe a little altered due to limited options but basically chose to eat nothing or one helping of pure junk food.

If pg this will be my 5th child and my 8th pregnancy. I'm pretty good knowing the signs. Each one has had some similarities and sometimes a couple have been different but I still knew right away. I think I might be pg again. My breasts kill but I've had pregnancies with no breast pain too. The one constant commonality are the pronounced glands on nipples and this one vein I call my pg vein that immediately bulges across my areola. The other symptom that is immediate is my super human sense of smell. I can smell a dirty diaper from across the house! Yucky example but you guys know what I mean. Only time will tell me for sure but I'll be more surprised by a BFN than a BFP. I am coming off a chemical pg and all the same signs are here. If I am pg there is no guarantee it means I'll have a baby this year but with all of my praying ( and swaying) it sure would be a major blessing (especially a dd)!! Stay tuned ;)

Auroara and Rainbow, thx for the kind words. Still BFN as of this a.m. at 11dpo. Now I'm just waiting on AF so I put a diva cup in just incase. No cramps unfortunately...It's 10:30 here so still not lunch time but I just ate 2 rice tortillas w/cream cheese. I figured that it's okay now. :sadflwr:

You deserve them...oh yeah, did you use Rephresh every 3 days full applicator or half applicator?

Out of the Blue, eat something fun. You could still get a BFP and if not yet than just take a day or two to indulge in something more yummy than tortillas and cream cheese!! Today is only dd 15th birthday, I am eating that cake and pizza! Good news is I lost 4 lbs in hospital taking me to 106 so I have a bit of leeway.

They thought ds had Kawasaki disease but looks like it was it's twin Adenovirus. Kawasaki would have been worse because it could have affected his heart. He's still sick and we're all beyond tired so everyone is a bit crabby. I checked my own temp and I'm 99.5. I usually run low so with my sore throat I'm probably headed down the sick road too.

I probably won't test until this coming weekend which will still be early. I'm not sure of my exact O day. It was positive last Wednesday but maybe sooner. Not sure of anything because hospital stay with ds messed up my days. Will keep you posted.

Thx, guys. We'll be changing almost everything up this cycle, lol! DH was FR for over 2wks total (part of that time included BD) and I don't think he'll be able to do that again. Also, I used RepHresh every 3 days (just 1/2 an app) along w/lots of Sylk. I wasn't happy w/the BD sched as I wanted to get one in closer to O but it just didn't work out.

This time, we'll drop the FR all together, probably drop the RepHresh as well. The Sylk will stay. Maybe 3's a charm for me :)

Wow, had the weirdest experience overnight. I woke up at 1am with crazy night-sweats and took my temp (98.0). Stood up, felt incredibly nauseous, went pee, went back to bed. This morning (7dpo) I was at 98.6 and no longer sweaty...but still pukey feeling. I'm hoping this is all good. I've had a really weird slow rise post-O this cycle!

That is what it is like for me anyway.

9 dpo and starting to go a little crazy. Either I'm pregnant or I have some of the most odd and major pms symptoms ever. It's getting very hard not to take a million pg tests. I might break down and have a tiiiiiny cup of coffee so I can try and keep up with my little dude today. ;)
