A little confused...
Hi ladies,
Im a little confused and hoping someone can shed a little light on the situation. Im using temp charts, maybe baby and OPK's to help pinpoint my fertile days. My temp is all over the place, and so I dont really pay much attention to that. However 9 days ago my maybe baby ferned and I had a +OPK. So we did our girl attempt and hoped for the best!
Now, 9 days later Im ferning again and have another +OPK???
Im so confused!
Did I ovulate last wk, or am I now? I did a preg test this morning which was neg, but prob would be too early still to be a BFP anyway....
Also, Ive been doing OPK's everyday, and they seem to be staying +....
Can anyone help try and make sense of this? Does anyone know what happens to your LH and oestrogen levels once you've ovulated and become pregnant? Do they rise? in which case, maybe that why they are still showing up on my maybe baby and OPK's??
Thanks for any input

You cannot ovulate twice with more than 24 hours apart.
I think you are pregnant!

This sort of happened to me one of the months that I was attempting...got a
OPK...did my attempt...
then like 3 days later got another....I think my body geared up to ovulate the first time and didn't....and then got aOPK a few days later...when it must have really happened. I know it is all so confusing at times. Good Luck!
Our long awaitedis here!!!!!

Thanks for your replies,
Ferning is a pattern you see when you use the Maybe Baby microscope. It detects the levels of oestrogen in the saliva and creates a pattern. "Pebbles" mean you are not fertile, with low levels of oestrogen. "Transitional Ferning" means your body is starting to head into its fertile stage. And full "fern" means you are at your most fertile, when oestrogen levels have risen.
Hmmmmmm.....
so confusing, I guess I'll just wait for later in the wk and see if I get AF or a BFP
Good luck ladies!

I suspect that your first O was a fake O and this may be the real deal. A pos OPK does not necessarily mean you ovulated, all OPK tell us is that yoru body released a little surge of hormone that was detected in your urine. You can release this hormone even if you're nowhere near ovulation. More commonly, your body starts to ovulate and then decides not to so you can get a false positive, then a real positive later on.
You can't get a pos OPK for a pregnancy test until after a real pg test comes up positive, so if your preg test is negative, you're not pg (at least not far enough along for OPK to detect)
Once you've ovulated, LH and estrogen levels decline (there is a good graphic here) Menstrual Cycle: Biology of the Female Reproductive System: Merck Manual Home Edition!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

You can't ovulate more than once a month unless they are very close together - less than 24 hours. Once the egg is released, the hole in your ovary that the egg came out of (corpus luteum) starts to make a lot of progesterone which inhibits other eggs from developing and being released.

Thanks Atomic, that graph is great. (It all rings a bell from Human Biology days back at school)
I still havent got AF or BFP so Im heading to the doctor today, as I am yet to get AF after stopping BF over 2 months ago. (I normally get AF back about 3wks after stopping BF)
Also I need my thyroid checked as Ive had a hemithyroidectomy and need my TSH levels checked.
Who knows, maybe my thyroid is playing a part in my hormones possibly being out of kilter

That is totally possible and an excellent reason to get it checked out. It's of paramount importance to make sure your thyroid is functioning well before you conceive!
