Ttc-I like your sneaky plan!!!! It's going to work!!!!! Maybe baby will arrive the day before April Fool's an then how fun would it be announce on that day lol. Last year, my sis-in-law April fooled her family by telling them that her water broke. They got all excited & were ready to drive 2hrs to the hospital! Disappointed when they realized it was a joke!

Hmmmm I'm gonna be the killjoy here and say I don't think it's a good idea to say anything pregnancy related on April Fools Day whether its real or not (I'm referring to Facebook not contacting family personally) as even if it is true there's going to be people wondering if its a joke or not and there's bound to be one if not several people that have lost a pregnancy or battled with infertility etc that wont see the funny side even if its legit 😕

Lola: I sure hope it works. With any luck positive opk will land on an"off" day (eod pattern) because that would mean I'll actually have 4 attempts: -4, -2, -1, O. The only other way it could go is -3, -1, O. Last cycle we were BDing e4d and I did only the 2 attempts and then we took a break for like a week. I feel much more confident with this plan :)

Pbn: I was thinking that too. My aunt had her baby this April Fools Day, 2 months premature. Everyone on Facebook was commenting saying "Yeah right, he's not due til June. Do you think that's funny?" Someone else actually said "I wonder how offensive this is to the mothers sitting in the NICU with their premature babies right now" and nobody believed her until she posted a picture of him in the incubator with a feeding tube. :(

Sooo, my temps are oddly high for this time of the cycle..not sure what to think. Nights have been a bit off due to girls waking though but usually it's still not that high ... well see I guess lol
Took the CB this am, I got the empty circle as expected ( and the test line was def lighter when I popped it out)...will see what the ic says later today!
We got our bd in last night, so cd8 we were up to 3 bd, not bad (let cycle we dtd on cd7 then 11 only before attempt time on cd 13-14)... hopefully this rhythm will help! Hope we can get another in tomorrow on cd 10 befire we then get closer to the fertile window :)

I was actually thinking about that...I've seen where people posted on FB why it's not a good idea to joke about pregnancy on April Fool's & I totally agree!! That's awful about your aunt though!! I'm sure that's not what she needed to hear while her baby was in the NICU! Glad baby is ok! I guess either way the day should be avoided, but if it's your baby's actual bday, that sort of takes away from your baby's day-can't win lol [emoji12]

Mommy2apples that pattern your temps have done the last three days is something I usually only see on bfp charts. I am so excited for you! Only 3 days till testing right?😀

Iwant4kids I've been looking at your temps and wondering if maybe you didn't o until cd16🤔 I do think either cd14 or 16 is possible so just be aware when it comes to test time. Also your higher pre o temps were very likely a side effect of the clomid (and this is common for clomid) so your smaller shift at cd14 could actually just look small due to the clomid affected temps 🤔 You don't recall when cm turned creamy after being ew?

Thanks Pbn3. All I remember is that it wasn't as watery during our attempt on cd14. Should have taken more notice but I had a massive doll order to finish before going away and was so stressed about it. Time will tell. My chart looks quite similar to my DS2 chart

I'm thinking cd14 maybe as I had a positive again that morning (well almost), so I think the definite positive would have been overnight on CD13/14. Meaning I ovulated on 14. I've always got faint positives on 9 dpo which is tomorrow but that could be 8dpo. I'll probably buy a pack of tests and start tomorrow. I only have a digital here.

Australians do fireworks for lots of things, main probably being NYE...
Here in Brisbane we have Riverfire which is on in September each year, with fireworks over the river..my DD2 was born on riverfire night almost 2 years ago..fortunately after the fireworks or we would have been stuck in traffic trying to get into the city where the hospital is..and I was thaaaat Close to not making it to hospital already as it was,with my rocket baby that it was good she waited until that time of night :rofl:

Hello Everyone,

I'm still fairly new to this site and trying to learn my way around.

I am 23 years old and I have 2 little boys ages 3 and almost 2. DH and I desperately want a little girl. I suffered a miscarriage in September of last year. Since then, I have been diagnosed with PCOS and do not ovulate on my own anymore. I started my second round of Femara yesterday and was hoping for some tips on conceiving quickly, as my dr will only allow me 3 rounds of Femara before sending me to an RE. DH and I BD nearly every day, which Pbn3 and Atomic have told me could actually be hurting our chances.

Have any of you conceived on Femara? If so, how many rounds did it take? Any advice on how to conceive quickly or how to conceive a baby girl?

Yay mtolbert!! Glad to see you here! Unfortunately conceiving quickly and ttc a girl don't go hand in hand. It's entirely up to you but perhaps you could use this second femara cycle with more girl friendly attempts and if unsuccessful then try eod or smep for cycle 3 femara as mentioned in your thread (I'd lean towards smep). I know of a lady on here that sounds similar to you. She had pcos and had 2 miscarriages before falling pregnant using e3d bd schedule (I *think it was also a clomid cycle for her as well) oh and her little girl is now 5/6 weeks'ish old I think? So perhaps you could try that before resorting to eod or smep.

So on to the nitty gritty. What cd are you on? Do you use opks? Do you chart? You mentioned in your thread that bloodwork confirmed you oed last cycle, do you remember what cd it was on?

Thank you Pbn3! I think I will try the e3d! DH just couldn't hold out for e4d last cycle!

Today is CD 5 for me. I do use OPKs, I got a solid smiley on the clear blue digital opk on CD 14 last month. But, that was my last one so I didnt get to test again the next day. The dr checked progesterone on CD 21 and my level was 13.9. So he said that indicated ovulation! My progesterone level the month before(cycle before femara) was only a 2.2 on cycle day 21. I do chart(somewhat) using fertility friend but I don't temp, mainly because I don't know how and I dont have a thermometer!

Just so you know once you get a solid smiley you dont need to and can't test again anyway (well for two days the smiley will stay on the screen) So will you be using the cb dual hormone digi opks again this cycle? And woohoo for getting a solid on cd14 😀😀 not long to go then until you'll be in the 2ww 🎉🎉

Temping can be really helpful if you're open to trying? Just get a thermometer that reads to 0.00 (two decimal points) but a 0.0 thermometer will suffice as well :) If you think you'd like to try it I cant recommend vaginal temping enough. Oral temping is open to far more variance woth environmental, open breathing factors etc. At least if you temp vaginally you know its accurate :) It might seem a big leap for first time temping though but let me know what you think and we can guide you through how to do it :)

So when will first bd happen to get the e3d ball rolling?

I am open to temping, I will try to order a thermometer within the next couple of days! I am open to vaginal temping. Once I get my thermometer I will definitely need some guidance on that!

I can only get DH to agree to e3d from CD 9-17. He was at the dr appt when the dr said those are the ferile days, and that has stuck in his head. He says otherwise he just cant go by a plan!

I may as well start and anyone else can chime in with more advice or tips 😀 ok so insert the thermometer so that the tip is fully covered. I like to suggest inserting the thermometer alongside a finger to the middle knuckle as practice to get an idea how far to insert. That way you're definitely covering the tip without poking the cervix 😂 Buy or order some alcohol swabs/wipes to clean the thermometer with after each use :) Make sure you have a few practice goes the day you receive your thermometer as it will feel odd the first few times but will quickly become normal! Try and temp around the same time each morning when you wake (within say a half hour bracket) but still temp if you need to get up earlier or sleep in, the temp will record as an open circle so we'll know something was different that day. If you wake a couple hours earlier but don't get up and fall back asleep then temp closer to your usual time. But if you need to get up to pee then take your temp before moving too much. That's really all I can think of at the moment but please ask any questions you may have! I'm excited 😀😀

Okay my only concern is that I wake up early every morning and get DH out the door for work. Then I go back to sleep for atleast 2-3 hours. So would I be good to temp once im awake for the day or do I need to do it before I wake him up every morning?

Mtolbert1 - Welcome! Hope you get your baby girl soon. I bought a plan from Atomic which was really helpful. The diet for PCOS swaying for a girl is quite different. I have PCOS and swaying for a girl too. I'm on my second cycle of clomid (first was a blighted ovum). I'd recommend buying a plan and then you can message Atomic whenever you need to.
It's awesome that you're going to temp...teaches you so much about your body and helps you to feel in control.

Pbn3 - don't worry about encouraging me to test early.....I encourage myself!

We are getting a 2015 Kia carnival :) didn't want a van but we had a territory 7 seater and it's annoying flipping the seats. With the carnival you can remove the middle seat and then walk through to the third row. So we will have DS6 in the back and a capsule and DS4 in the 2nd row. Plus the boot is still huge! Can't wait!!!

I did not try femara or Clomid, but it did take me 5 months to conceive with e4d, but switched to e3d my last cycle that resulted in a BFP. I do believe that ended up with 1 viable attempt. Stark white! I'll leave it for the day though and check if anything appears as it dries. In the past my faint lines at 9dpo have been on dried tests. I could be 8dpo too. Will post a photo in the daylight later.
Still feeling out though... was hoping for a temp increase and it went down a bit. Crappy night of sleep though...my sore throat and blocked nose meant I mouth breathed so lucky for V testing.

Iwant4kids- Thank you! I talked to Atomic and she didn't recommend me starting the diet because it wouldn't work within my time frame and she said it could end up swaying blue. Pbn- DH won't do it for an entire month! He won't start until cd 9 which is Thursday and he will only do it through cd 17 which is July 14th.. IF I can get him to stick to it! His problem is he wants to get an abundance of attempts in! He says his sperm count never drains.. its hard to make him understand that there is a such thing as too many attempts!
So since I get the thermometer Wednesday, would I start temping Thursday am? Im so excited to begin! Im hoping and praying this is our lucky cycle!!

Yes begin Thursday! On Wednesday when you receive it have a couple practice goes so you get a feel for it :) And sorry but your comment about dh saying his sperm count never drains had me lol 😂😂😂😂 men!!!!! They are so defensive about things they have no idea about 😂😂 So do you think he'll be willing to stick to e3d?? If need be throw him a red herring and bd few nights in a row at cd9,10 &11 then hold off and resume cd14 then again at cd17. Do you think that would have more chance than e3d or do you think he'll stick to e3d and not deviate from that plan?

I am going to give the e3d a strong attempt and if he can't do it then I will do what you just suggested. Ive already told him that we have to stick to it if we want a baby (especially a girl) and he agreed! I'll keep you updated on if he cooperates 😂😂 and yeah he is hilarious with how defensive he is about his sperm 😂😂😂

I don't think I will have too much trouble temping (hopefully) because I used to check my PH vaginally multiple times a day because I was convinced that would determine gender!

FX for you that Femara does the trick this cycle! Seems you responded well to it so you can tell hubby as much as he “never drains” , it’s important you get the freshest and strongest swimmers by not overdoing it or his sperm may just be very sparse semen (as in, with very few swimmers) – :P

Had a lovely evening with DD1 at Frozen on Ice last night– was actually pretty good – and she loved it! So happy to see her elated little face :D whenever a song was over, people clapped and she was like “is it done Mummy?” (Worried that it might be finished) – so cute! Was a late night – she wasn’t in bed until past 9pm (usual bedtime 7pm) – but stayed awake even in the car – though she blabbered like a drunk old man on the drive home, she was fighting sleep so bad :rofl:
Eeeek solid smiley this morning – def EWCM this am too – BD time tonight me thinks!!! Good thing is last night hubs was super keen but because we’d BDd that morning already I wanted to hold off – hope that was a good move :D
Last night’s opks was quite dark not quite positive but almost almost– this is at least a couple of days earlier than planned – thank god we did as much BD we did beforehand!! Depending on actual O date, that CD10 am BD may even fall within fertile window ^^
(btw - only used 3 sticks with this CB – if this cycle is a BFN could I just use the same monitor, couldn’t I? I think so as the manual is implying you can but wouldn’t want to “break it “lol)

Oh and I might have gotten ahead of myself, but ordered a “magic cup” – on which I had “Baby B #3” printed (with the pic of a little bee – B is the initial of our last name) – it will look black when cool but when you pour hot liquid into it, the picture reveals itself – intend to use it to announce to several people should we get a BFP this cycle.

Yep, I plan for tonight for sure (no way he is escaping that one!) – will try tomorrow am, but no guarantee due to kids, morning rush etc – but def tomorrow evening also, and for tomorrow evening will try to make it an early evening BD rather than later, so it’s a few hours closer to peak since I have a feeling it will be very difficult getting that AM one in (that’s where O during the week makes it hard!) sort of cutting the pear in half as much as I can to make it work!

Yeah no I won't and my obs office rang this morning as they only just got the letter from the hospital from when I went up with spotting nearly 2 weeks ago 😩 and they didn't even pass on the pathology results 😠. I let them know I got the full screening done and she said not to expect results for my appt Thursday :( but that's ok as they will ring as soon as they come in :)

Hoping (and thinking) it'll be too early for nub anyway especially if its flat as there is def still time for it to rise but if its angled I'm pretty much going to know its a boy 😞 maybe I can convince myself not to focus on that area when they are doing the side profile 😂

I agree with Mommy – girls are little trouble makers for their mums!! I know what you mean – no way you can not check out at every chance if you can see signs of nub/gender… do whatever works for you on the day, if you feel like checking, check to your heart’s content! After all, you still will have the option to know for sure with the NIPT results so either way, you can settle and get a definite answer very soon ;)

Thank you so much Pbn3 and LMSM!! My husband named him Luca, and I cried so bad for days:sad: (Might have had the baby blues) because I didn't think he looked like a Luca. I was super dramatic and called my husband while he was out with the kiddos in his mom at Walmart. I said I wanted to change his name. So while he's standing in the parking lot I asked him if we could change it, and then we called the hospital on three way. We changed his name and after the lady hangs up I say "are you sure we made the right choice? Do you think we could call them, and change it back?" (Don't forget I'm hysterically crying through this whole ordeal.. I know...I was a lunatic! :rofl:) We called right back and said "Sorry! Change it back please!" Also I saw where someone said yesterday that it needed to go to 2 decimals. But I had already ordered mine and it only goes to one decimal. I tested it out just now (I know it doesn't count since I've been up for hours, but just wanted to get the hang of temping vaginally) and it came up as 98.6 both times. Does this seem accurate?

Ttc-yay for getting your bbt! 98.6 sounds about right! Usually in the 98's when you've been moving around and active later in the day. It's higher or lower for some, but first thing in the AM around 6AM, it's typically in the 97s, then 98s after O. It's def worth temping now! It'll give you a baseline and plenty of pre-O temps, then the temp spike & sustained higher temps will confirm O!!! Then if you start to see a significant drop close to AF, it's prob a warning that AF is on the way. Fx that you won't even see that drop b/c you're going to get a BFP [emoji12]

IWant4Kids - Thank you! I never ever felt so emotional after giving birth before. I swear I cried every time someone mentioned or asked what his name was. I was extremely bothered that everyone was calling him the baby and not Luca either.. I wasn’t sure what I wanted, but for a small moment in pregnancy I love Luciano (That was the Cord Blood banking guys name, and loved when he'd say his name :) ) . I totally don’t like the name for him anymore, and so happy we didn’t use it.

Mommy2apples - Thanks so much! It’s pretty hilarious now looking back. How are you feeling today? Your temps are looking so good :) Don’t worry about that temps today. Remember you have to pinpoint implantation and count a few days out so Hcg can build into your system. I kinda knew mines because of the dip I got, and also for a few days I was having extreme hot flashes. I heard that happens during implantation. FX you get your positive soon..

Ttcblue great to hear from you! And ditto everything Lola said! A one decimal bbt is fine! Thentwo decimal point ones just increase accuracy especially if your prone to having temps that don't fluctuate alot. However we will see a sustained spike regardless and will be able to confirm o 😀 And yes start tomorrow morning! It will be enough pre o temps :) Try not worry or compare your temps to what other charts are as the important thing is the sustained rise in temp and not what the actual temp is. Lola is 100% in saying activity increases your temp so pay zero attention to todays practice temps. I'm excited for you to start 😀

Yep I think your 9dpo 😀 hmmm at the risk of not sounding like the poas addict I am I'd maybe hold off on evening testing until tomorrow night.... tomorrow mornings line will be much more easily seen and I'd hate for you to think something wasn't right if you didn't get a squinter tonight that would very likely be caused from a urine sample that's too diluted even if you've done a good hold.... entirely up to you of course but promise not to stress if the line is lighter or not there tonight!

Last night it was too funny – I had done an evening opk (darker than midday’s btw) , and had left all the opks out on the bathroom sink so I could check them then tidy them up – but DH walks in and looks at them and goes, ‘what does this mean?’ (with a grin on his face, he knows what it means haha) – so I tell him it means “go , go, go!” – kinda killed the spontaneous nature of my getting him frisky :rofl: - so once in bed, he tells me (with the biggest smile on his face) “you only want me for my body” (sounding like a poor victim) so we just had the biggest giggle – bottom line, got the job done – I just forgot to get the Preseed in this whole kafuffle :rofl: hopefully whatever ewcm that might have been left up there did the trick!
Like I feared, we didn’t get a BD in this am (that’s why I hate O in the middle of the week, makes it so much harder!) but will work very hard to get an early one in tonight when kids are asleep ^^
Oh and feels like my throat is starting to tickle – any recommendations that would be safe to help baby implant if baby there is? I just want to nip this potential cold in the bud – I am drinking my lemon water (my colleague has fresh organic lemons from her garden that she brought in)

Just got out and waiting for disc! Bub is looking perfect 😍 and I seen the nub soooooooo many times 😂😂 so I'll go thru the disc when I get home and put some shots up for u/s guesses if I see any! Measuring ahead 12w4d 😀 and nub was mostly long and flat but some shots were forked and a couple looked angled 😂😂 so still not sure lol got a tummy ache from the scanner thing because bub kept flipping away and giving us his/her back so she was digging it in all over 😂

I'm sorry for everyone that I've missed, trying to catch up on all the pages!

Ladies, I'm so sorry that I disappeared! I needed to take a little break. We usually leave for our summer home this coming weekend, but ended up leaving last week and I was so busy packing up our things, which was what I needed to take my mind off things. Femera really messed with me emotionally, much more than I could have expected. I needed to just stop thinking about ttc and leaving early helped me do just that. I've been spending the past few days just soaking up my girls and loving my time with them at the beach and just away from city life! I'm going to take the next few days off the boards as well to just enjoy my little family, and hopefully I O sometime soon and can join back officially in the tww. I'm not swaying, just going to enjoy DH, unplanned BD, and go with whatever feels right this time around. It just feels right at this point, and I am really excited about that! ❤️

LMSM, yes we have a home in Southampton. I stay here with the girls all summer, DH comes back and forth on the weekends (not ideal, but he can't take so much time off). It's SUCH a great break from the madness of city life. There's not much to do here other than beach time and eating, right up my alley!

LOL at just wanting DH for his body....mine says that! He's been off limits this whole TWW - I get too nervous.
When I was sick my first cycle, Atomic told me that panadol and nurofen both sway girl, so maybe stear clear of anything for another day or so.
I was reading all about pineapple core the other day....couldn't be bothered as we were away, but every TWW I have 5 brazil nuts per day and a handful of walnuts, which can help too.

Mummy - That ebay seller deserves a howl! You give him one....he obviously doesn't understand the difference. Maxim - Sorry to hear you had side effects, sounds similar to clomid. How lovely to be away with your girls. I hope the break is what you need and that you catch the egg this month. Maybe try some foods during your TWW that help with implantation? (pineapple core, nuts? - but google it as it's only on certain days). It seems that your eggs get fertilized but don't stick? Looks like an O dip on your chart? Good luck lovely x

AFM - I've only told you girls, haven't told DH yet. I want to create something tomorrow and tell him tomorrow night or Thursday morning. Hopefully a digital would be positive by then. I'm going to google some ideas tonight. It's so hard not to tell him, but I've never been creative with the other two as he's known I'm testing. He doesn't even realise it's testing time yet.

If anyone is wanting to try the pineapple core idea to help implantation I've done it several times however if you are taking aspirin then don't do it. And you want to take before/during implantation but not after. The best way I found was to buy a pineapple and cut 1-2 slices (2 if you cut quite thin, I used to aim for what would look to be approx 1 cups worth) per day and eat both flesh and core. It's the core that contains the highest concentrate of bromelain and that's what acts as a natural blood thinner so be sure to eat it too :) I would suggest doing for a 5 day period so 2-6dpo, 3-7dpo, 4-8dpo or 5-9dpo. I actually recommend googling pineapple core implantation in case you find another way of doing it that appeals to you more. I don't think there is any right or wrong way, this is just how I used to like doing it :)
