Pbn3 - It's mainly brazil nuts, but I also read walnuts help overall, not so much implantation.

Okay the plan is to make up a little box of his favourite snacks and write a big note inside saying 'If I'm going to get fat again, so are you! Number 3 is on the way.' (with the test inside the box too). Not everyone's taste, but he'll love it!

Hey, sorry I am new to this whole page and forums so sorry if my first post isn't there anymore.
My husband and I are trying for a boy.
I am currently on cd 11. Cd 9 and 11 we have bd and will continue to do so until we get a positive opk and the will bd for 3 days and then two days after that .
I am new to using opks and don't get them at all. Lol
Just a few questions if hubby drinks caffeine does that help with the sperm? Or is it a myth.
What can I do to increase the chances of having a boy?
I have increased my calcium intake
Have been on blackmores gold for pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Any help would be great thank you

Hi and welcome again! Firstly a few questions other than this one: are you charting?
1. what opks are you using and what time of day are you testing?
2. Your bding eod until pos opk then 5 x from there? Have I read that right? Bd 3 days at pos opk then two days after that? Just want to clarify exactly what you mean before commenting :)
3. Caffiene is generally used as a sway tactic for pink swayers however I'm not aware if it affects hubby or not... we have several blue swayers here that will be able to fill you in on the latest blue info for this :)
4. Are you on the HE diet?
5. Are you doing moderate exercise weights, crosstraining etc?
6. Are you still nursing? (Asking this because if the blackmores gold for pregnancy and breastfeeding)

I'll come back and look at your answers in the morning :) in the meantime we have a couple blue swayers that will jump in and answer most if not all your questions especially if you can answer those questions I've listed. So exciting to have another blue swayer on board 😀😀😀💙💙💙 so welcome again and let the fun begin!

Hi and Welcome!

You will find tons of information in Atomic's signature.

HE diet is having 3 meals a day and snacking in between. You want to keep your blood sugar stable and don't want to have long periods in between meals. Aim for about 1900-2000 calories a day, or 3 meals with 2-3 small snacks in between. You want to have protein with every meal because higher amounts of protein sway strongly blue.

No cardio exercise or very limited cardio. Lifting weights is preferred. It doesn't need to be much- small weights with a decent amount of reps is fine. Body weight exercises are good too like Yoga and Pilates- any type is great.

Breastfeeding/expressing sways pink.

You want to BD the night of the first positive opk and then have 2 more attempts sometime over the following 2 days to = 3 attempts.

OMG! Don't keep temping! I did with my DS3 because of spotting. While it made me feel better most of the time, I would panic if it dipped a tad! This pregnancy, I felt my temps were so rocky I stopped after 45dpo. I continued for a bit to be sure I wasn't going to lose her after losing her twin early on.

My advice- DON'T DO IT [emoji16]!

Hi thank you,

I am probably not eating enough. I have three meals a day, this is an outline of my current eating plan
breakfast is usually oats with a glass of flavoured milk, snack is a piece of fruit.
Lunch is two salad wraps with cheese and lentil patties and potato chips (baked).snack is whatever I want to eat.
Dinner is usually steamed potato and sweet potato with salad
I only occasionally eat chicken and fish. So how else can I get my protein?
I have two older children who don't live at home and I was expressing and second child was a boy. I am hoping expressing won't be a problem. Now I'm worried.

Thank you. I have a lot to learn by the looks of it. Yes everyone here has been amazing.
I live near Newcastle NSW.
Hubby wants a boy this is why we are trying. I have said to him it is not 100% accurate and we will just do our best to conceive and if it's a boy great and if a girl that's great too. He waits until baby is born till finding out. I find out at 16-18 weeks and keep it a secret. No one knows. It makes it more exciting.

Can a blue swayer answer this please? Sorry Halley I'm not sure of the nitty gritty blue things 🙁. An alternative is to create a thread in the ttc a boy forum and outline to Atomic what you are doing and ask her recommendations. You'll also get feedback from other blue swayers that don't use this 2ww thread :) Stick with us as well though as we will guide you where to go for an answer if we don't know ourselves (although all us ladies brains together should know enough to cover most everything 😂) plus here is where you come for a fast response if you need an answer 'now'! Lmsm: No he's not suspicious yet. But he's not exactly following my eod plan either... His family is big on celebrating the 4th (kinda turns into a 1st-4th for them) so I've been taking the kids home at their bed time and letting him stay out late. Which means no BDing.. Since Af started the 26th, we've only done the 27th and the 2nd. I was really upset about the 5 day gap, but oh well, what can ya do? Ok so in regards to o then will you hold off now until pos opk or will you dtd again before. I'd probably lean towards bding tomorrow (cd10) and then holding off for pos opk as at least hubby will have had 2-3 days recovery before your 3 attempts. Is that what you're thinking?

Pbn: They aren't pink dye, they are blue.. but the instructions don't say you have to use fmu, just that you should take it at the same time every day. What are the best times to test if I want to test twice a day? Sometimes I have a short surge that I'm afraid I could miss if I only test once a day. It's rather odd because I always have ovulation pains, and when I have them on the right side, I get positive OPKs for 2 days in a row, and when the pains are on my left side I only get 1 positive. The pains on the right are always much stronger than the pains on the left too. I have no idea what that could mean, but since it concerns me, I keep note of it. So far the pattern is right (feb), left (march), right (april), right (may), left (june)..
I was thinking I would do eod starting tonight with 2 extra attempts at positive opk. But please let me know if you recommend e3d instead and I will do that. :)

What I did is got the app for my fitness pal and I record everything I eat on there. It keeps track of all your nutrition and I try to always get mine all completely off the charts.

Also I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but atomic told me more than 50% of your daily fat intake should come from animal fats (meat, Eggs, milk, cheese..) opposed to vegetable fats And she also said never, ever eat low fat or skim dairy. It sways strongly pink.

Ttcblue I'd probably test 1pm and 7-8pm maybe? It's hard to say as I'm going with the very general time that a surge is usually picked up which is afternoon and evening. *Some* people though do have a morning surge but I don't believe it's as common. This is one of the reasons I love the dual hormone digis as its testing for two hormones and you use fmu. Plus its easy enough to do a dip test between 1-3pm for extra confirmation, and if your afternoin dip test looks pos you can retest with digi to see if its solid smiley. But anyway I digress as always 😂

As for the bd planning if you think dh can achieve that then I say hell yes!!!!! I like it 😀!!! The biggest thing though is that it feels right for you!

I don't have low fat anything. I started having more dairy as of yesterday. It's not something I have a lot of. I got almonds, cashews, pistachio and pumpkin seeds today to help with protein. I can't tolerate a lot of dairy and usually have soy milk.

I’m pretty happy with how we did – now to see whether the egg met the little winning swimmer! I had a bit of a dizzy spell whilst in my meeting today – way way wayyyy too early for it to be any symptom – the room may just have been too hot & was hungry but had my heart racing at the thought that maaayyyybe, we might get lucky :D
I was happy that I managed to get a good blue lunch in after our meeting curtesy of the people hosting the meeting for me – had a grassfed-beef burger with chips – yummo! :D
I did an opk just a moment ago and def back to negative, very light only – so I guess testing time this cycle I will aim for about 10 dpo ,no earlier, so about Friday next week ish – will depend on how the chart confirms O ^^

Yes that's the kit I have. My hubby got me two boxes. I am worried about missing it. Fertility friend says I am due to ovulate on Friday. So from Thursday-Saturday we will be bding each day and then again on Monday (I hope I've got that right)

I would bd 3 x times once you have a pos opk and not before because ff is simply estimating possible o day, it does not mean you will o Friday. Once you get a pos opk you should ovulate between 12-48 hours with the most common being the day after pos opk. For your three attempts are you doing 3 nights in a row or aiming for the recommended night of pos opk, following morning and night? (So basically three times in a 24 hour period) Many people find a morning bd near impossible and therefore do 3 nights in a row but just thought I'd check in case you were unaware of the morning bd scenario. Good idea to add in a bd two days after last bd in case of delayed o and we'll be able to see by your chart if your temps inicate o anyway :)

AFM - Super excited, but feeling so sick already. Today was hard as I had 4 friends over and all their kids - 11 in total! A friend pulled me aside and asked if I was (some ppl just know), but I denied as I hadn't even told DH yet.
Funny thing....DH said he thought I was, even though I kept doubting it....all because he thought my thighs looked bigger. I know its hard to see your temps lower but look at how high it still is range wise! Remember your temp can only go so high and needs to plateau between a range of temps. Your chart still looks fantastic! I would only be concerned if it takes a dive towards coverline. At the moment its nowhere near that and still in the upper range!

So quick question.. I have a habit of always double checking when I use a thermometer, I don't know if I expect it to be wrong or what, but this morning it said 97.3 and immediately after I did it again it said 97.1. So of course I took my temp 3 more times which all came back 97.2. Is this a pretty common occurrence or do you think maybe it has to do with my kids waking me up all hours of the night? Yesterday morning it was 97.7 (it was the same when I double checked it). Looking at my chart is seems like a pretty big drop, but I couldn't have possibly O'd yet. Just want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong.

Ttcblue if you have a broken/restless sleep or get up during the night then your temp may read higher than if you'd had a settled sleep. If this does happen you can always make a note of it in that days entry which will give you a # sign below your chart so you know there's a possible reason for an 'off' looking temp at a glance. Also try and not draw any conclusions from your temps yet.as it really is too early. A temp dip does not indicate o has occured. What we are looking for is a sustained rise after a pos opk (usually the day after, sometimes 2 days after) You are doing it right :) and in a weeks time it will make absolute sense!

It wasn't so much the higher temp but just the drop between yesterday and today that made me think maybe the thermometer is not reading accurately or perhaps I'm doing something wrong. But you have a drop from cd1-2 so I guess that's normal and temps just fluctuate? Mine dropped by .5 from cd9-10.

Ttc-my first drop was the very beginning of the cycle when AF arrived. I do see how it looks like a big dip on your chart, but it probably won't look so significant in the grand scheme of things when you get more temps in. I do believe you're temping the correct way, so don't worry [emoji4]

TTC - you also only have 1 decimal point which makes a slight difference. You won't know until you have lots of temps in what is happening. Good luck!

Mommy2apples I'm just going to say test sensitivity varies from test to test. I could see lines on your middle two tests yesterday but not the others. I think it's a great idea to wait but please tell me you'll test either day before af is due if your temp is still up or the morning af is due and doesn't arrive. Fx so tightly!!! I'll be stalking your chart these coming days for sure!

Ttcblue sorry I thought your higher temp was from a restless sleep :) needless to say there's nothing to worry about. Let's just get some more temps and go from there. To hopefully ease your mind I'm posting screenshots of some of my cycles that show a clear drop just after or several days after af finishes. Didn't happen every cycle but often enough I paid it no mind :)

Oh good mommy2apples!! I think I've said I think these might be a good idea for you to try as it tests two hormones... I'd still definately do a 1pm dip test though as you are used to seeing your close but not pos opk that is a pos for you. Just in case....

Yep, will head off to get some Brazil nuts at lunch today ;) there’s a Woolies down the road. I think I will forego my pineapple as I read so many mixed reviews am not sure if I should take it, all the more as a bleu swayer.

Halley – unless using the CB dual hormone digi opks, def no fmu – it’s a pain to hold but that will get you the best accurate results ^^

TTCblue – since you are using “simple” CB opks, it should say on the packet to test in the afternoon I would think???
Re your temp, especially since your thermometer is only 1 decimal, it’s less accurate so it may not pick up on more subtle changes – but worry not about a couple of temps – that’s not enough to see any sort of pattern yet – by the end of the week you definitely will have enough data to make something of it though and we’ll be there to help you ;)

Mommy2apples – I don’t want to get your hopes up, I def saw something on one of the wondfos but – since you usually only get BFPs after Af is due, you’re probably right in being patient just a tad longer in order to be sure where you stand – as your temps are still good, hopefully all it is a late implanter like your other babes likely were (hence the hg not being picked up until after AF is due) :hugs:

So weird, after the best night’s sleep in a long time (got over 7 hours solid sleep!!) my temp was actually dropped today – can’t wait for tomorrow’s temp and the following to see where things are heading – hate this uncertainty.
Will try to squeeze in some BD tonight just to be sure…

TTCblue – it may be this one is ok to use FMU too- I don’t know, there are so many different options! ;) maybe some of the other US ladies can help, as I don’t think we have the same kits available here in Oz ;)
Agree FMU is great when possible – saves our bladders with being bursting all day haha I was a bit crazy this cycle as had to ensure I had along enough night hold to get decently concentrated FMu for the CB digi then during the day had to hold for the CI opks too – :rofl: - fortunately that only lasted a few days as O came fast!

Ttcblue you weren't doing anything wrong at all with the cb easy ovulation opks! Like LMSM I was only aware of the cb dual hormone digis that used fmu but had also never seen this type before either so they likely don't sell them in Aus :) have highlighted the area in green that clearly states fmu is ok and most convenient in case any one else is using these particular opks.

Pbn, it's not fuzzy on my end, that's actually a picture of the exact directions I have from the box. Does this mean I can only test once a day, with first morning urine? Or can I not drink anything from 4-8pm and test again at 8pm? Last month I got a positive at 7pm without abstaining from fluids at all.

No you can test as much as you like I think. They just recommend at the same time each day so you get an accurate comparison progression wise if testing once a day. If you got a positive at 7pm without limiting fluids at all then your super lucky 😀 I wouldn't risk it personally. Although 4 hours is abit much... I think 2-3 hours is ample and usually suggest sipping not gulping and try not to drink like a whole glass over that period (aim for less than half). Sip when your mouth is dry only.

If you're worried then just continue with eod. It sways strongly blue. That way if for some reason you miss your surge you'll easily be covered. I know its hard but try not to obsess too much about oing. You gotta relax as best you can and just trust your body will do what always does, it just doesn't feel that way when we are watching it like a hawk. No one or no thing likes to be put under a microscope and analyzed... it seems the more you want something to happen the longer it takes. Just try and sit back, relax a little and know that within the next few days you will get a pos opk and you have zero control over when that will happen, it will when its ready ❤

There's always the possibility of an opposite unfortunately. I've seen some of the best sways result in opposites but have also seen the best sways succeed. Same as with the more relaxed sways, seen it go both ways. Just do what can and control what you can. The diet is by far the biggest factor. Breakfast (cereal seems to be very blue) lunch and dinner with snacking in between. And lots of protein (doesn't have to always come from meat - nuts and eggs are a great source of protein and great for snacking - you can easy keep boiled eggs prepared in the fridge). Eod sways strongly blue but 3 attempts at pos opk is recommended first because it is far easier to achieve. Many dh's can fail to perform eod at the crucial time therefore its considered easier to clump 2-3 attempts together instead (my ds2 was conceived by bding night of pos opk and following morning - I wasn't swaying, had never heard of it, was just trying to get pregnant)

I understand that it's trying to tell hubby that we can try for a particular gender but need to be great full for what we will be blessed with. It is my first time using opks that's probably why I'm a little more stressed. The temp I am managing well and charting each morning not that I understand what the chart says and that's ok.
I don't have a lot of cereal manly have oats. I have been eating plenty of nuts and have added an egg in here and there. Have also added a bit of chicken and turkey into my diet. We have managed every second day since the 2nd of July.
I have never heard of swaying until now it is very interesting.

How does this sound? Pretty much previously discussed in drifts and drabs but put all together sounds like this.

Once af arrives get a bottle of wine (this wasn't discussed but is a great start 😊) Pour a nice big glass, go online and order a pk of cb advanced dual hormone digis and make sure you have plenty of cheapies as well. You should probably order two boxes of the digis so you have extra test sticks should they be needed as you'll need to continue on the same tester head. So you'll use the digis with fmu and use an IC at 1pm and also 7pm if you want to go all out. If at any stage your IC looks positive (which you dont seem to get) and your digi has already started flashing smiley you cant retest the same day to see if the smiley turns solid. Remember to wait until the fourth morning after last clomid pill to start opks :) Start bding e3d from af finish and through to confirmed o. If need be you can decide whether to add an attempt if you get a pos opk on a non e3d day, especially if your last attempt was 2 days prior to pos opk. You'll be in your second cycle of clomid so personally I'd take full advantage of it by upping the odds of conception BUT thay is entirely up to you and whatever you are comfortable with. If e3d with the possibility of an extra attempt makes you too nervous then just stick to e3d or consider e4d plus extra attempt at pos opk. Whatever fits best for you :) How is all that sounding other than expensive? 😐

Ok so e3d is your first lot of dates. You count forward from the particular day so if you bd Monday that's bd day, Tuesday is 1, Wednesday is 2 then its time to bd again Thursday which is 3. E4d is calculated the same way so would be Jul 13, 17, 21 etc
That second lot of dates is e2d.
