Deaks, another thought... did you get your iron levels checked? My lp's were always 10-11 days, which im sure is why it took me forever to get pregnant (aswell as super long cycles) My iron levels were 4.7 which is super low, once i got them up i had 30 day cycles which 13-14 day lp's. x

Deaks - I am still keeping everything crossed for you if your HPTs are getting darker you have more HCG in your system which theoretically shouldnt happen if you are MCing - POAS tomorrow and see if it is darker again....if so I would question MC. I also second Petal and the iron thing though if this beanie doesnt stick - my LP was only 10days I know taking b12 and iron helped this.

Petal - FX you dont have to be induced by 11/11/11 would be totally awesome

Yes I will ask about iron levels tomorrow at the docs as well as anything else that could be affecting my LP such as thyroid. Thanks also for the kind words, you are right, it wasn't meant to be and I'm feeling much calmer now and ready to get on with this cycle.

That would be soooo cool for your baby to be born on Friday... At least that's one benefit of the induction! X

November 6th, 2011, 01:03 PM
Thanks Charlie, yeah I will test again tomorrow and I'm certainly not going to restart any cranberry etc before I know for sure. I just can't imagine a baby sticking with all this blood loss though. X

Still no news on this little lazy boy!! Had a thought earlier.. if i do go in to be induced thursday eve he may be born friday...11.11.11 how cool would that be! i may get in the local paper lmao ;-) x

i was only thinking about that aswell today. I thought how lovely it would be to have a child born on that day. It didn't even enter my thought process that your Little one could possibly be born on that day. Well at least if he does decides to show on that day. It wouldn't be hard to forget his date of birth ;)

im 8 DPO today and was planning on POAS tomorrow morning but i havent managed to go out today to buy some cheapies. i was thinking of collecting FMU and saving it untill i had bought some cheapies to test but was worried that the HGC would evaporate like LH does. What do you gals think?

deaks66
November 6th, 2011, 01:49 PM
I always wander that, you could give it a go as you have nothing to loose I guess?! What brand will you buy? I have heard that super drug ones are as good as frer.

Thanks ladies, you have been a massive support to me today. Feels like my swaying journey is a real roller coaster and I just want this weight to be lifted off my shoulders. One thing that I am glad about though is that at least I can get pg at o+12, I never thought it would happen as couldn't get pg with my boys without dtd on ov. I have often suspected that o+12 is easier to get pg by than cutoff and I guess for me it is :)

littlemisswilko
November 6th, 2011, 01:57 PM
well i do have some frer hopefully getting delivered tomorrow but i didnt want to waste them iykwim was just going to go to the poundshop or home bargains and buy the cheap ones from there and see what happens. or do you think i should just test with the frer?

deaks66
November 6th, 2011, 02:19 PM
Hmmm not sure. Tbh my ic cheapies didn't pick up my convincing bfp til the same day clearblue digi. There was a very very faint line the day before but I really though it was an evap as it appeared hours later when the stick dried out. Certainly won't be putting myself through that torture again!

Petal 11.11.11 would be an amazing Birthday! I think he's holding out for that ;)

LMW- Glad i'm not the only one. I always used to have areally light AF before my pregnancies but awful, awful cramping and pains. Now I have no pains but it's heavier. Much better this way though! GL for a BFP this month! I'd use the ones being delivered tomorrow and if a BFN get some cheapies too. If you get a BFP you've saved yourself a trip and some money!

Deaks I think you should def still TTC this cycle if it turns out to be a MC. As it was early/chemical if you hadn't of tested and had seen AF you would have tried this cycle as normal IYSWIM. But as others have said your really not out yet. So i've got everything crossed.

Think it's X factor on sky+ and me and DP are going to watch a film tonight and enjoy the last of the weekend.

littlemisswilko

November 6th, 2011, 05:45 PM
Deaks if you still get BFPs which are getting stronger then please ask your doc to do a blood test and repeat it over 24 hours. There is a tiny possibilty it may be etopic. I 99% think its not but I know someone in RL who had one and if so you want to save your tubes. I still hope its all going to be ok x Did you have trouble conceiving your boys? I have a short LP at 10-11 days and I did get pg. But getting a full test and maybe fert clinic if this a chem is going save some time and heartache. No one has to know your swaying. As you know mine and DH's tests came back bad and armed with that knowledge it was stop swaying or risk never having another baby. When you have the knowledge you can decide then. So sorry your going through this xxx

deaks66
November 6th, 2011, 06:35 PM
Thanks maybe, I will definately be asking for blood tests even if my bfps stay the same rather than get darker. I really need to make sure I look after my fertility. Any pain has really subsided today and I'm definately having a full flow so I'm hoping that the chemical is sorting itself out. I didn't have trouble conceiving my boys due to a short lp as before they were both born my lp was normal, this has happened since ds2 for some reason. I think it just took us a while because we were clueless with ds1 and dtd too early with ds2... Cutoff was the only thing I knew about swaying at the time and it didn't work for a few months so we dtd over ov.

I'm so glad to have you and the other ladies on here looking after me! X

Thanks girls! Know this sounds ridiculous but am actually relieved this morning that the ic cheapy has gone incredibly faint.... I have been loosing so much blood and was in so much pain until yesterday morning that I think even if the bean had tried its hardest to stick that problems could have been caused. I really just want to move on now and get things sorted at the doctors.

Hope you are all well, I'm dying to be suffering from morning sickness... Though know I won't be saying that at the time! X

HUGE HUGE hugs deaks x I hope you get some answers from the doctors today x x

Littlemiss - good luck testing x

Spotted slightly yesterday - i mean i only noticed as i am a 'toilet paper looker' when pregnant slight brown spotting. I hate this stage I spotted with my MC ds2 and ds3 but obviously it is worrying trying to tell myself its quite 'normal' for me but still scared. Trying to take it easy however got work today and tomorrow. I worked yesterday and obviously my job is on my feet the whole time we had a queue to the door for most of my shift so lots of rushing around making mountains of drinks....FX i can rest this morning although we have no food so need to get some food shopping :(

Kell
November 7th, 2011, 04:59 AM
Deaks I'm sorry hun, hope the doctors can offer some help! X

Charlie I hope the spotting is nothing to worry about, try and rest, maybe speak to someone at work about needing a break every now and then? Unless you dont them to know your pg of course!

I think I ov last week but for some reason the month I really need to feel the cramps they don't happen!! Grr this coming month I'm going to try and buy our bits for the sway and will be following the diet as best I can, hoping to sway properly in jan, should just about squeeze three cycles in before lol!
My eyes are rediculous! My eye lids are just big scabs :( and under one eye as well, I can't open one I look silly! And dp wants me to go into town to the bank, I'm really not impressed! May have to see if my friend will do it for me!

deaks66
November 7th, 2011, 05:16 AM
Kell, shame about the makeup scabs... could you wear your sunglasses to town?!

charlie, sure the spotting is ok, good that its brown i would think. Try and relax a little, could you do an online shop...might be able to get to you today?

Got docs at 10.20 and ds1 is at nursery and ds2 is going to my friends so going to try and ask lots of questions.

I went to the emergency doctors yesterday, I've got some stuff and there's no infection which is good, I've just got to wait this out tho, need to wait for it to heel properly. The urge to pick the scabs is so strong lol!
Certainly won't be using that makeup again! Means I get to go buy some more tho :)

deaks - hope everything at the doctors goes great today and he/she puts your mind at rest

Charlie - Try not to worry to much about the spotting, like you said its quite normal for it to happen as it has with your previous pregnancies.

Kell - Glad to hear that you arnt going to use the make up anymore. Just out of curiosity what brand is it?

Well my frer tests didnt come in time for FMU so wont be testing today. Will do it tomorrow. Going out later to buy some Cheapies i think.

Littlemiss it's Ysl touché éclat so expensive stuff! I use to use it a few years back but changed to benefit stuff, we got it at gatwick. I'm wondering if they've changed the ingredients possibly. I will make a complaint I'm just not sure what to say lol!

littlemisswilko
November 7th, 2011, 06:03 AM
yes i would definately make a complaint Kell, You should take pictures of the scabbing and make a formal complaint. Basically tell them it isnt the first time you have used the product as you have used it in the past etc etc. They will most likely want you to send the product in so they can examine it aswell. You poor sod!!! Just hope it doesnt leave any serious marks..

So saw a lovely doctor this morning who basically agrees that i should use the progesterone again as i did before. Going to have blood tests done at the hospital this afternoon just to check there isn't anything else going on. She also said to monitor the bleeding and take another pg test tomorrow just to double check its now negative. Glad to have got things rolling but still feel so unbelievably sad that this could have been prevented :(

Littlemiss I just popped in to see if you had any news! But I'll have to wait till tomorrow! BIG FX for BFP x

Charlie I hope it isn't playing on your mind too much.

Deaks hope it all went well at the Drs.

The boys had their first dentist appointment this morning and all was good which was good to hear especially as ds2 HATES having his teeth brushed.

I've also ordered the last bits for ds1's Party on Sunday. I've got those flashing l.e.d lights that you pop into balloons and they flash, some bunting for the garden and stripey sweet bags for party bags all form ebay! Now some more painting of the playhouse! It's so cold though! brrr.

P.s the film was easy A and wasn't great at all. I get films sent through from lovefilm and they always tend to be a bit hit or miss as I struggle to find enough films that I really want to watch!

welcome back sunset, weve missed you!!! Indigo came up with the idea of doing a secret santa this year for the smog wannabes as she had done it previously one year on IG. Weve all agreed that indigo will pick the secret santas and the recievers closer to xmas (thinking 1st Dec) and were adding to the roll call who's wanting to be involved and clues for things they like. Weve also agreed that each person has an amount of £10 to spend on the gift excluding postage costs. think thats about it.

It is funny how we all seem to like similar things! Will be easy to do the shopping / making and fun!

Maybe- no wonder you are exhausted, you are working so much and with your 2 boys, don't know how you do it. I would be a complete wreck in your shoes.

Charlie- glad to hear spotting stopped. Try not to worry, sure it is just your little bean snuggling in. How is your sis doing?

afm, need to get a serious grip this cycle, have been forgetting to take my supps, to diet (I went off it about a month ago as was loosing too much weight and wanted to do well for my run thinking I'd start it again straight after but that hasn't worked), complete shambles...goodness.

off to bed, tired and on antibiotics for that bladder infection. It went up into my kidneys at the weekend and was agony!

Haven't had time to read through everything. I am up to speed on some things: Deaks: Hope you have everything taken care of LMW I've been checking if you've had a BFP yet!
Wanted to get the SMOG ladies opinions on something I posted:
Just met with my gastroenterologist for my regular check up. It is time for a colonscopy (I have crohns). I told him I was going to try to concieve this month (Should O week of Nov. 21st). I could wait till after I give birth, but I am wondering if doing the procedure might help sway PINK. I would have to be put under with propofol (anesthetic) and to prepare for the procedure I would need to take 10 oz. of citrate of magnesia, 238 grams of miralax mixed with crystal light, and 4 dulcolax laxatives. The entire day before you cannot eat.
I know anesthetic sways pink but what about the stuff I have to take to prepare. I can do the procedure next week or the week after (which would be the week before my attempt. Thoughts?? I think the citrate of magnesia is all salt. Atomics opinion was that salt doesnt sway so heavily and actually excessive salt sways PINK. And the rapid weight loss from fasting, the anesthesia would help my cause.
I can delay with NO consequence to my health. What does everyone think?

Just a quick post... Feeling a bit worried here... been spotting on and off for a couple of weeks. I've never spotted in my previous pregnancies... but also last night before I went to bed I passed a bigger clot. :( I have a scan this afternoon at 3pm so only a few hours wait. Have to take both boys with me to the scan - that'll be interesting. ah well...

Its dp's birthday in a couple of weeks so the game is a early present! Gives me some majour brownie points as well! so thats always a bonus!

I went to weight myself at boots today! I've lost 2lbs this week, and i did it without putting much effort into it which i like lol! But i do still have about 20lbs i'd like to shed so still a while to go!

So i've decided i'm going to complain to YSL about the makeup, I've had a quick look on google and it seems theres a few people have had bad reactions to the same thing, Altho it would seem mine is very severe compaired. i'm not one for compaining usually but this is something else so it definatly needs to be addressed! I've got lots of pictures to back up my claim and i'm more than happy for them to have the makeup back as well!

Charlie hope you get your scan soon! :)

Hi all!

Charlie, did u get a scan time??? thinkning of u. x

Pinga, sorry to hear you are spotting. I did too this pg 2 mornings in a row and never before either. Hope ur scan goes well, keep us posted.

Sunset, what a time of it ur having!! After u getting the Flu jag too!! (getting mine on monday) Hope ur on the mend soon what a horrible virus to have. Big Hugs! This pg for me is a wee bit different. Ds1 was fab, kept well. Ds2 was sick 24/7 till 20 wks-ish then at 25wks took spd and this time round I have felt better since 13wks, maybe only sick 1-3 times a week, depending on what I eat, but I do feel sick alot on/off, worse at night. I barely have a bump either! Which kinna worries me for being almost 15wks pg with twins! With ds2 I had a noticeable bump by now. Do think tho I have a bigger 'upper' tummy, above my belly button looks swollen. And in bed at night I feel a firm small bump. Have spd 'niggles' and get a 'stitch' like feeling below my belly button if I walk fast (mad rush to school). Can't wait for my scan a week today and to meet my new twin consultant. I'm a born worrier and think I felt tiny movements yest/bubbles, but prob just wanting it more for reassurance. When did u feel baby move?

Littlemiss, I must confess I am a BB watcher also! Dh is more the fan, but once I start watching it I'm hooked!! Must admit tho, dh and I both said it's been a bit boring this yr. Prob since it's C5's 1st yr. Missing Davina, Brian is a twat! Who do u think will win?? Want to win?? Aaron is trying to make Jay and Louise look bad last night and he's a game player! Really liked him till these past few wks.

Kell, I know the game, my nephew wants it for his b'day. Went to pre-order at GAME it as my mum was going to buy it for him then she realised it's an 18 and he's gonna be 12, so she wasn't sure without asking my brother, think they let him play 18's. My almost 9yr old would love it for his b'day but he can dream on! As then my 5yr old would want to play it too! Ds1 asking for xbox LIVE for his b'day, but I am wary..... DH not a gamer, does play the odd game with them, so he's hopeless at knowing what to do.

Babymad, hope ur getting past the sickness, will it settle at 12wks??

Hello and hope everyone else is ok, better go do some housework. Sky + the new series of 16 and pregnant (love all things pg on Tv) and just watched 2hrs of it, so better go tidy :(

Will pop on later to see how pinga and charlie have got on. x

I had a thought about your secret santa guys.
The person that sorts out who is sending to who will either know who is sendingthem a gift, or not be able to be involved.
I wondered if you would like me to sort the details out for you? I haven't been here for long and you girls have a strong bond so wouldn't want to intrude on it, but i am very happy to help you guys out so you can all be involved in sending and recieveing gifts!

Just throwing it out there for you guys to think about, I am of course also very happy to butt out lol! :)

So looks like it could be a week till i know either way x FX for no more spotting! Got to work tonight too. My DH was a star this morning though dropped ds1 and 2 at school - he has to be at work for 9 and if he isnt there they cant open but he rang around and sorted it for the staff to get keys so they could get in and wait for him to arrive. Saved me having to do at least an hour of walking! Got to pick ds2 up in an hour but will take a slow walk down rather than the hurried pace of the normal school run

im glad im not the only one who HATES Aaron, really carnt stand him at the moment. Yeh he is entertaining but he is just sly fox. The way he treated faye when she was with him and they way he treated her sister was apalling. Was gobsmacked at what he said to jay last night. He only said it because he was the one feeling guilty and was worried how he would be persieved by the public. i just carnt stand the bloke!!! I reckon on the outside he is a control freak and if its not his way its the highway!! the loser!!! i really like the other 4, ive really got a soft spot for jay, think thats down to the fact he's from my neck of the woods and he's a jack the lad. Really really like him! but i think it will be either Alex or Aaron to win (in which i hope to god alex wins)

Hi all,
So sorry my lovely ladies on here are suffering with morning sickness, spotting and illness, hope everyone starts to improve soon. Charlie, frustrating to have to wait till next week for an early scan but glad dh helping you out so you can take it a bit easier?
Pinga, have you had your scan? hope all well.
Littlemiss, so sorry for bfp this morning, i was feeling so hopeful for you. FX for tomorrow!!
Indigo, are you feeling any better today? hope the antibiotics have started to kick in?
AFM, the bleeding has nearly stopped but still getting cramps and quite high up in my abdomen too. Spoke to a friend this morning who miscarried at 5 weeks and she had the same and her doctor told her it was the uterus contracting to make sure everything is removed. Makes me feel a little better. Don't know if any of you have seen my post about my temps being high still. Surely if i had low progesterone this wouldn't be the case which makes me think it cant have been a progesterone issue? what else can cause a short LP? of course it could just not have meant to be especially with the horrendous back pains i had last week.

Deaks you sound really positive not really sure about temps though or short LP's.

Stripped my maclaren and put it in the washing machine because it was frankly a bit gross and sticky from icecreams in the summer and full of crumbs! So much nicer having a clean push chair! And now smells like washing powder which is one of my all time favourite smells:D

Just watching land girls before I have to go and pick up ds2 I so should have lived in that era!

Does everyone have their girl name picked out?
My MIL asked me what i'd call a girl the other day as her BF son's expecting another girl and they were stuck on names.

All the names i've liked in the past when pregnant with DS1 and Ds2 are really popular now. And we know pretty much one of each. They were;

Arianna
Amelia
Amelie
Ava
Evie
Freya
Isabella
Ruby
Mia

I really don't know where i'd start with a name if I actually had a girl. I have a boys name picked out already though! I would like to go for slightly more unusual name. Although I do love classic/granny names too like Ava!

littlemisswilko
November 8th, 2011, 01:05 PM
when i start to think of girl names i subconsciously stop myself from thinking as i think i will never have my dream so whats the point of thinking about it.

i do like the name freya and i like it pronounced as Free-a, Evie, Yasmin & love Lola May.

i do think its much easier for choosing for boys and have got one chosen, sort of. (i always change my mind)

i never really tell anybody what names i 'like' as i wouldnt want them to pinch them so if i was you, i would keep it to yourself instead of telling you MIL

Anyone heard from petal??

I didn't really have any names to tell her, I just said I didn't really know. They were thinking of Amelia which I said i liked because I do. I'd never use it as a friend of mine has an Amelia. I wouldn't use any of the names i've listed because they are too popular or I know one already, that's why i'm strugling to think of any girls names I might use!

I always tend to name my bumps before they are born once I know the sex but I don't really tell anyone as can't be bothered to deal with peoples rude opinions, people tend to be less rude/ hold back on their opinions once the baby is actually born.

With both my boys I only looked at girls names until the 20 week scan. Obviously didn't get to use any though lol!

Hi babymad, you didn't say but i guess you are still struggling today with the MS? really feel for you. Im fine but desperately trying to work out what to take out of my sway to reduce the odds of miscarriage. Cant get onto the IG site to ask advice there and don't really know what to do. I know you pretty much gave up on the swaying but before you gave up on the whole lot was there anything specific you cut out for any reason as i know you have suffered from MC in the past. Hope you don't mind me asking.

Charlie- yes I will be attempting this month. Back on the diet today, weight tends to drop off so I think it will be long enough before O. will be doing acijel and rePHresh and J&D, I know I have a really teeny chance to get pg but the due date is really inconvenient so it wouldn't matter too much lol! I don't want to miss a month completely as it could be the ONE!

Hey all,

Charlie and Pinga hope your both ok.

I had spotting with DS2 and went to the drs basically saying I want a scan, Im spotting, I know Ive lost it just get it over with ......... and there he was wriggling around! I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks before DS2 and had no spotting at all with DS1, so when I started spotting with DS2 I just lost all hope. But he is upstairs sleeping now, a year on

I also had implantation spotting with DS2 and nothing with DS1, very odd!

Hope all is ok for you ladies, we think the getting pregnant bit is hard, but once pregnant it just turns to the next worry, then we have them and we worry about something else to do with them lol!

Hope everyone else is good too, Im trying to keep up!

I like Jessica, Abby, Lille, Georgia, Ava, chloe, there's a couple more but can't think off the top of my head, but like most I know atleast one of all those names.

I just got back from a university open evening! I played around with a simulated prosthetic pregnant lady, felt the belly, measured the bump, heard a heart beat! It was so cool! I cannot wait to be a student midwife!! It's going to be hard work but so worth it! :)

Arianna - was on my girls list too but I couldnt think of a good nickname arry sounds awful lol x

I have both my boys and my girls names sorted but I never tell till the baby arrives! But boys names are so hard i struggled for months with ds1 (luckily i found out he was a he!!) I read 2 baby name books the huge ones back to back before deciding on Nico, Beck is named after the musician but then I found Beckett and Indiana was a bit of a joke as Nico wanted to call him that but I love Indy and in the end we just went for it x middle names are after family bar ds1 who DH chose gerrard after the footballer SHAME!!!

Ladies please can I have some advice!! Feeling so lost and confused since joining this site as there is new stuff and contradicting stuff!!

I dont know what diet to do now, how much research has been done for each-was going to do the ig one but now I dont know!
Also just read that obsessing wont help to lower testosterone which mine is high, so maybe shouldnt focus too much on timing ....... then read not to take cranberry supps but to take a low dose baby asprin as no nutirents. Im lost!!

Which diet do you think is the easiest to adapt for uk ladies with access to products etc.?
What info are you all sticking too?

Thanks

a confused chocolate!!

zanacal
November 8th, 2011, 05:48 PM
I know Chocolate, it is very confusing. Unfortunately I think you just have to read everything about everything and let it sink in until you come to conclusions that you're comfortable with. I think both diets are perfectly easy to stick to in the UK, plenty have done IG and LE is even less restrictive regarding what foods you eat (basically, it's up to you so long as you stick to the overall 'rules'). Are you swaying now/soon?

November 8th, 2011, 05:49 PM
Hi all...

Thanks for the well-wishes. So I had the scan yesterday and I'm not sure how reassuring it was!! Great news was that baby was there and there was a heartbeat! But the sonographer was one of those annoyingly cagey ones who won't tell you anything. I kept prodding for answers - meanwhile DS1 is marching about the room trying to climb onto the bed with me!
The sonographer said that there was some bleeding in my uterus but said I'd have to wait to talk to the doctor about the scan results. So I'm not really sure what that bleeding is... so I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I'm going to go back to the doctors today to see what the results say. I'm trying to take it easy today...

Charlie - it makes you so anxious doesn't it... I can't stand the not knowing!! Fx you get a scan soon!

We have a slightly different system here. The doc gives you a referral to a clinic that does xrays/ultrasounds/CTs etc and there are usually 5 or 6 in different locations nearish to you... and you ring up and make the appointment yourself. The other option is to go to emergency but that can involve up to a 5 hour wait!

I haven't decided on a girls name. I just feel like I'll never get to use one!! We kind of have a boys name picked out but not 100%. DS1 was easy - He is Ernie (it was my Dads middle name). DS2 was much much harder but we decided on Percy. I love it now - it really suits him. I love old fashioned names!

Anyways - I'll update after the doc tells me some more info.... hopefully I'll get in this afternoon...

Pinga great news about baby and heartbeat!! I can understand the worry though and them not giving anything away!!

Zanacal - we were going to wait to ttc until March, but Im just wondering now that working and having 2 young boys isnt working well and maybe the sooner I give up work the better which would mean ttc earlier .......
But then Im sure with the xmas season approaching, there would be a few occassions of the diet not being stuck too by OH,and I have some dates that it wont work well for through December.... so hard!
If I can wait, maybe its worth doing supps beginning of Dec. and then diet from just after xmas and ttc from mid feb. so thats about 3 to 4 cycles away. But then with the chances of not falling pregnant straight away etc. I wonder wether to just ttc now and do the best with diet but let the slip ups go, really dont know!

chocolate, the amount of info is absolutely overwhelming isn't it and when i think back to my sway plan early in the year and how far i've come its absolutely boggling! i personally wouldn't hold off too long as it could take you a while to conceive and time is precious... wish i had started sooner really! but then again if you start now, you will have to deal with all this over christmas... that is the exact reason i started sups etc in jan last year so i could enjoy christmas first! hope you find a method that you are happy with!

Hey deaks - saw bits about where u were at but haven't caught up with anything over the last day or so - hope your ok xx. Yeah that's it, in an ideal world time can just wait, but we all know that this world isn't ideal so that's why I think to crack on, but then know december would prob. Sway more to a boy than waiting for jan as OH would diet more from Jan. I'm going to dedicate an hour a day to research and draw up my plan. Also need to check lp for defect and decide what to do too. I think in a practical sense ill have to focus on diet and scrap seasons and moons or else the time will never be right! Will try to do doet and supps soon incase I do suddenly decide to ttc earlier lol

Chocolate I'm confused about when and how to sway as well, I think realistically my oh won't be able to do the diet, no matter what he says I just know he won't stick to it! I'm getting confused by all the info but I think I've got most of it figured out, but like you it's difficult not to obsess about the whole process just to make sure you do it right! Catch 22 there! Right now I'm slowly introducing new ideas to my diet, different foods and trying to be low protein, I'm usually pretty low sodium anyway! And I'm trying not to eat breakfast as difficult as that is for me!!
I believe even having the best sway going the actuall odds are still very similar to 50/50 so I'm trying not to stress too much. But I'm thinking jan will be the start of the diet and feb/mar will be our actual sway

Thanks charlie and kelli, I think practically waiting till March to ttc is the best, but just feel like getting on with it now just incase it takes a while etc. Its only confusing as I've read some conflicting stuff on here - but give it a week of hardcore reading and I'm sure ill have my plan sussed. I think my OH will try really hard but will moan and be sceptical! I think I will do ig diet but will research what to do for OH and pick a plan which he will stick to the most or he won't stick to it too well and wouldn't be much point in him doing it. Just enjoying my last mcdonals brekkie for a while lol!!

Morning. I felt the same when I moved here! To be honest LE would be so much easier than IG as you can eat a far wider range of foods that actually tastes good and sweets too! I love sweets have the worst sweet tooth.

But at the end of the day the IG diet just seemed like it would work so much better for me as LE was far too close to how I ate when I concieved DS2. Also to me taking the sups just makes me feel more in control of my sway if that makes any sense.
I also think I know the IG girl plan really well as I've read over it for months also the sucessful sways on IG really spur me on.

Nothing in ever going to be a 100% we just have to try and do our best!

More girls on this thread are doing or have done the IG style diet so may be easier to offer advice when you start your sway. But allot of ladies on this site are also doing LE diet too so you could always get advice elsewhere on the board if that was the path you went down.

I know it can all be a bit confusing but I think just try and aim to do everything opposite than before. All the boy sway IG style is so exact to my eating habits (bar the meat) pre swaying.

Good luck with your choice.

Thanks lavenderlime, that's a good point, the ig boy diet seems to be what I was on when we had the boys so also feel doing the ig girl would be the best opposite. Just wondering if the le plan would be better for OH though as he has a sensitive stomach and don't feel too comfortable over-loading him with supps - he would love the sweets! Will look it up later. Feeling a bit more positive about it now :-)

Kell my DP isn't doing anything diet and supliments wise. It's just not for him and I don't want to make him do something he doesn't want to. He'll abstain and that's probably it to help my sway. Which is fine as long as I can lower his sperm count a little and I'm doing all I can to sway then hopefully it'll be enough!

Lavenderlime
November 9th, 2011, 06:11 AM
Chocolate I think you should do what's best for your OH depends how willing he is to sway really. I don't think the guys have to take the supliments but will help for his PH. I'm going to use rephresh and hope that's enough to keep combined PH low. As i'm going to do O+12 ph doen't have to stay low for long. But if you do all the cooking and food shopping should be easy enough to get him on the diet!

What's the men's version of the LE diet. do they have to loose weight or just low nutrients?

chocolate
November 9th, 2011, 06:17 AM
I'm not sure what the man version is, will look it up later - think the main thing for OH is reducing red meat to help with testosterone as he quite a temper and no patience (could be the red hair lol) my OH would give it all a go, but I want to try to keep it simple for him incase it takes a while.

Well... got into the doctors so I now know what is going on...
Apparently I have a small peri-sac haemorrhage. I like the sound of the word small!! The GP couldn't really tell me anything more than that.
heartbeat was 113bpm - which I think is a bit on the low side but not been told to come back...
So all in all - I'm just going to sit back and try and take it easy... keep my fingers crossed and see what happens! I feel relieved that bubba is in there and there is a heartbeat...

What is the LE diet? Am I being silly but can't think what it stands for... :D

Its been a long, nauseous and exhausting day here so I'm going to bed!

Now i'm just confused, what is the LE diet? when i first started swaying there was plenty to choose from as well: IG diet, French diet and acidic diet... i just chose one and stuck 100% to that diet. Personally i felt my diet would have to be as opposite to my normal diet as possible, which is the IG diet without a doubt so i went with that. It's a hard choice as there is so much information out there, but at the end of the day all we can do is our best so Chocolate I think you need to pick a diet you feel comfortable with and give that your best shot :)

Inglewood ~ it isn't a virus i've got, it's a bacterial pneumonia so unfortunately i can only blame myself for not getting treatment for my very long lasting stubborn cough before the bacteria caused me to get a sinus infection which then moved down into my lungs. I'm still very happy i got the flu jab as i don't think my body could cope well with the flu at the moment since it couldn't even get rid of a mucus cough on it's own.. my immune system is just not there at the moment :( but hey ho, that's the joy of pregnancy! it must be so special for you knowing you're cooking 2 little miracles in your womb :) so exciting!! i was trying to get comfortable on the sofa last night with my enormous belly and i thought to myself how is it possible for 2 babies to fit in there :p it's so amazing how adaptable our bodies are :) is your family excited? :D

im glad im not the only one who HATES Aaron, really carnt stand him at the moment.

I totally agree with all that!!! I would hope Alex or Jay win. But please not Aaron! I like dippy louise, but not to win. Tom does my head in at times, bit annoying!

Pinga, if your dr doesnt sound too worried then hopefully thats a really good thing!

LE is the low everything diet - includes banana's, potatoes and tomato sauce though, low fat and low protein so more do able, Im still going to do ig diet though and all sways as it just makes sense to me. Although completely agree about not obsessing while doing it, so will try to build in as much chilling as I can. May stick OH on low everything plan though as that is easier for him to do and to stick too, still have lots of reading to do first though.

Finally back on ladies!! Some of us have had trouble getting on here since this morning!! Nice to be back!!

Petal, all quiet oh here and ur FB.....is that good news coming???

LMiss, Sorry about ur BFN :( I also avoid thinkning about girls names, as much as I want to...it's like the wide bearth I give the girls clothes section in shops.

Charlie, shame ur scan is 1wk away, Fx that means they aren't too concerned and all is well. xx

Babymad, boys names are a nightmare for us too......

Kell, I was all set to be a student midwife, had my place etc...but just before I left for uni I decided that I'd do my general training 1st then it would only take 18mths to do my midwifery. No jobs here in scotland for midwives, so wanted general training to fall back on. I planned to work in A&E/medicine for 3yrs then do my midwifery, but after 2yrs ended up pg with ds1 and then could never afford to be a full time student again. Glad I am where I am in Palliative care...one end of the spectrum from the other tho!!!!

Pinga, glad all is well. I also had a bleed next to the sac on my uterus, but they warned me at the 6wk scan I might pass the blood, so I was expecting it, still scary. x

Sunset, can't believe u only have 2mths and 12days!!!!! how exciting! My family have kinna got their head round the 'twins' idea. I think I am still in shock, not panicked yet, YET!!! Dh painting and decorating and I'm busy with boys, so not much time to 'think' about it!!! I hope ur feeling better, I have blocked sinuses now for a mth, not infected but if they do become infected I'll be straight to the doc's. I feel for you so much, you haven't had much luck with ur health recently, sure that'll be you now....on the mend and ready for you gorgeous girl.

My friend had a baby boy yest (she has a 6yr old boy) she was so so sure she was having a girl! She mentioned 'cut-off' briefly to me once, but we never got a chance to say anymore as another mum came up. I said I had heard of it!!! She did a 3 day cut off (non-intentional she said). Wonder if she's in shock????

Off to finish tea, just in from getting boys hair cut. Will pop on later. x

My concentration is on psychology and chemistry assignments which is using most of my brain power lol! I guess that's why it's a good thing we have each other to chat to!

I defiantly need a detailed look at the ig diet, I've seen that its in tiers but I don't know what's in this tiers, Is it a diet that's been made by the people at in-gender?

Sunset, hope your on the mend now!

Pinga, a heart beat of 113 is fine! I'm pretty sure anything above 100 is pretty normal! Hope everything repairs and your lil bean is all safe!

My little man is being very mischievous! He keeps wondering off doing naughty things! I've just caught him throwing dog biscuits shouting 'GO' for the dog! He finds it very amusing! Wow tht certainly is different ends of the spectrum! I'm not sure I'd be able to do your job. We have such a shortage of midwives in the south-east, almost every student has gone straight into a job for the last 5+ years!
Where abouts in Scotland are you? My mum and her side of the family live just south of Edinburgh! I can honestly say I spend more time in Edinburgh than I do in London and I'm less than 30 mins away from it lol

I haven't had a chance to read everyones posts today as i decided to take the opportunity on no GD or IG to actually play with my children and forget about swaying!

Pinga, glad all seems well with bubs.... will they monitor you a bit now or no need?

Seriously having to reconsider the o+12 and abstinence which is doing my head in as my ph is stonkingly high before and during ov and also dh cant cope with FR. Just wish i knew what to do! does anyone know if liquorice root can have a negative impact on dh's sperm? Was hoping that i could just cut out the post lime douche, cut out the liquorice root and add in progesterone and all would be fine but it sounds like its the o+12 and abstinence that could be the problems...ugh!

Hi Deaks,
Well even though I didn't sway hardcore I have started to type up my sway details so will try and post tomorrow :)
I know my chances of having another boy are high as I didn't do everything 100% but this is briefly what I did do!!
I did the diet 100% from Jan to end of May so 5 months, then in June July and Aug I cheated in the 2ww and stuck with the diet when AF arrived. Even though I cheated I still didn't eat anything really boy friendly like potatoes or bandannas etc so I still stayed away from all that was listed on the diet but I would have a pizza or takaway occasionally at the weekend and chocolate or biscuits as a treat in the week, so not great as I stopped losing weight by June but I did lose weight before then. I never ate before midday from Jan until BFP and I didn't eat cereal from Jan until BFP either (I ate a lot of cereal when I conceived he boys). So not sticking to the diet 100% doesn't go in my favour, although the fact that my body had had quite a long time to adjust to the diet when I was doing it 100% could have helped by the time we conceived??
I still drank peppermint tea, milk and cranberry all the time.
I still showered twice a day and used my ion bracelets and lavender, salt rock lamps etc etc.
FF says 2 day cut off I think we BD on ov and 12 hrs after so boy friendly but like you I wasn't getting pg and I was running out of time! some women do get pg with girls on ov as timing is only one of the factors but in my case I think it's boy territory. If we conceived on 2nd BD then more girl friendly.
I didn't use lime as we did that with DS3. DH abstained for 10 days. My PH was below 4 leading up to ov and in 4's during our attempt.
so I am praying with all my heart we made a pink bean but I'm also realistic and prepared to hear boy!

not sure if I've been of any help but I will write up my sway too :)

Deaks, my dh took 2 liq root tabs a day for 2mths. Apparently, I read someplace (google it and I'll have a hunt) but 2 is recommend per day for dh (can't remember why). know it can make them moody and lower sex drive of take too many, but not sure about sperm impact.

Your midwife is 1000% wrong and any geneticist will agree with me on that. There is are a handful of very rare genetic diseases that can reduce your odds of carrying a healthy BOY but not a healthy girl. Please read this essay, it explains why.

Thanks chocolate! yes thats exactly how i feel, like i just have to try and figure out what, if anything, could have caused it. So far i have come up with short LP/low progesterone (which i knew anyway), blood sugar levels, o+12, abstinence. The first i can do something about. Blood sugar levels is something i wish i had known about and will definitely remedy next time. i'm not keen on ditching the o+12 due to my manic ov ph and abstinence just seems to be something dh and i have to do to get pg bizarrely enough! Its as though only a big load of sperm can make that ONE get through!

Glad you are getting nearer to a decision on when to try. I definitely think that if you have a history of problems then to start soon and iron out any things you may want to give a miss is a good option. I have 3 threads on the general discussion on which atomic and others have given great info if you get a chance to look at! Have you tried progesterone crinone for your short LP... i really recommend it if nothing else works for you :)

Inglewood ~ did you friend stay team green? it must have been a shock for her if she believed she was having a girl. do you feel more tired this pregnancy or about the same? did you read your notes, do you have an anterior placenta? my babies always come early so i could perhaps only have another 7-9 weeks left to go.. :S how time flies lol unfortunately i'm a born worrier so i still don't quite dare to believe i'm having a girl.. i still think the worst is going to happen and still don't dare to go shopping. fx for no more colds or bugs now! i'm sick of being poorly and under the weather! i too suffer congestion as well! my nose is nearly always blocked! drives me mad lol :D unfortunately all 3rd trimester symptoms has hit me hard this time and i suffer daily from congestion, swelling and heartburn. Lovely :p but apart from that it's all groovy! i love being pregnant :D

She was gonna find out then decided not to at the scan, not sure yet how shocked she is! My other friend was like you and after 4 scans confirming girl she bought a dress, but still said she wouldn't believe it until she had her in her arms!! She did have a girl 9wks ago! I did check my notes and it says a Posterior placenta at 12wks, but I am so sure at my 6wk scan she told me anterior?? confused now!! I hate all this congestion, my SIL had it bad too and it's awful. All the patients at work think I have a cold and shouldn't be working! Then I have to explain..... it did start after a cold about 5wks ago. Got shocking heartburn already, prob due to not being on my reg gastritis meds, it will only get worse. But was told after 15wks could get my old meds back if feeling bad. Gosh u don't have long really!! so exciting! a xmas baby?? new year?? I'm expecting (all being well) to have the twins a month early, so beg April! My babies are usually late or on time and big!! will be funny having smaller babies....

Must go up for a nosey, very floral my MIL's house looks like that shop!! or a shortbread tin with tartan everywhere!! lol Like you she reapholsters furniture. Was was a seamstress and is an AMAZING crafty lady!! All my baby bedding for cribs and cots were made by here and are gorgeous! Wish I could do things like that. I can sew a button on and that's about it! She would LOVE it there!!! She has prob been to the Edinburgh shop.

Maybebaby ~ that's so sad :( I guess their babies didn't make it? i have a friend who was pregnant with her second daughter when i was expecting ds2 and she went into prem labour at 22 weeks and has since then lost another 2 babies and is now pregnant again.. she's just had her cervix stitched so hopefully her pregnancy will hold this time.
Happy birthday to your son today! i hope he enjoys his birthday! :)

Inglewood ~ I definitely do believe i'm having a girl now since the odds of 3 scans being wrong is very slim, but i just worry that the worst is gonna happen, i go into premature labour or something goes wrong at the birth etc etc.. i'm always like this when i'm pregnant and worry about everything which is silly! i just want to hold my baby and know everything is alright :)
aww i'm so jealous, april is the perfect month to have a baby i think :) when are you hoping to find out the gender of your babies? you will have so much fun shopping for twins! :)

How awful for ur friend Sunset and to the ladies you've met at classes Maybe, just so sad. Fx Sunset ur friend has a healthy pg this time. I worry alot too and think I have worried alot more since I found out there are 2 babies and the complications involved!! 2 girls at my work have lost twins over the yrs, one was 20wks with ID twins and the other I'm not sure, just after 12wks?? So I worry....Scary biscuits, so I try not to think about it too much and look after myself. Thankfully I am eating 75% 'normal' again and enjoying tomatoes and apples esp again after mths of not being able to eat them, although the heartburn after the tomatoes is nasty!! Taking peptac before and after eating them....lol

I have had oct and nov babies, so April will be a real change for me, really looking forward to it!! It will be nice buying for 2, but alot more expensive! That's another reason why I want to know boys/girls. Still sure it's boys, I obsess some days over my scan pics and think 1 is a boy and 1 maybe a girl.....lol. Although I know that's not the case, it's 1 or the other sex for both, the nubs to me look like that!! Looking forward to my scan on tues, wishing the days away to know they are ok more than anything....worrying..... But at 15wks5d, not holding out they will tell me the sex. Although it's the actual Twin Consultant scanning me, so Dh is gonna ask her for a rough idea on the sex, but joke that we won't hold her to it!!!

I can't believe my babies are the size of navel oranges today!!

Petal, thinking of you.... lots of hugs, ur little fella is almost here..... xx

She two had a mc when I was pg with ds2 but has just given birth to a very healthy and happy baby boy a couple of weeks ago!

November 10th, 2011, 07:48 AM

I think putting the effort into trying to solve a future problem is sort of theraputic for me, although the obsessing probably isnt great for swaying but at least its focussing it into something hopefully good!
Sounds like you are on the right path, Im also going to focus on controlling my sugar levels as I think that is the key to pervent miscarriage in PCOS cases, even if that means it consistantly being lower rather than jumping all over the place. Think yoghurt is good for that, avoiding sugary stuff and fast releasing carbs so the IG diet is good for that.

Over night I feel like I just think we should ignore the seasons and start swaying now which would mean ttc around Christmas hols which may work in my favour as wont be working and will have OH around more to help out and the festive cheer may keep me happy and relaxed!
Going to buy supps later. I am thinking of only doing b6, baby asprin and maybe look into something for OH to take to lower testosterone/sperm count, will get him some nice heat pads for his little friends lol and some tight pants, oh how he is going to love that.
Will post a sway plan thread on the main board if anyone wants to check it out and offer tips. :-)

Thanks chocolate, we sound like we are on similar wave lengths with our swaying :) Trying to find out if controlling the blood sugar levels means staying on the diet until a bfp, so basically constantly, just a few days after ov or till after implantation? Do you have any idea on this?

Some scary stories on here of ladies loosing bubs at the 20-30 weeks stage, i just cant imagine the pain. I knew someone who lost their at 27 weeks and had to give birth.... absolutely horrific. Can only pray and keep our fingers crossed that all our growing smog babies are happy and healthy full termers! X

Charlie, do you do upholstery? i am thinking of starting an upholstery course as i am a woodwork/textiles teacher so figure i have so ok skills for it. Have always fancied doing it just need to find the time! You are scarily leading a double life with one of my best friends who is an upholsterer, has 3 sons and is pg with number 4!

I used to love CATH but since they have opened one in my town, it is all anyone is buying and i kinda think you can definitely overdo the CK!! plus im not so keen on the floral either! Saying that her warehouse shop is on the way to my mums so loads of bargains to pick up!

I think I read someone saying that its a good idea to wait till after implantation as the environment still plays a role into if it sticks or not - something to do with the amount of glucose and the girl may fleet if its not in the right catergory.
I havent started the diet so can say Ill stick to it, and once pregnant probably still follow it but slowly introduce more nutrients and still eat dairy just incase as I dont think suddenly stopping anything is a good idea unless you really have to.
However, if Im still ttc a few months down the line I may need a few days break in the 2ww for sanity! For me, PCOS is about the sugar levels being irregular and high, so metformin dramatically cuts the miscarriage risk in women with PCOS, and the met is used to lower the blood sugar levels, which is why Im keen to keep them low rather than high through pregnancy.

Babymad- I remember a discussion on IG about m/c and gender and as far as I remember the research (unless it has changed) is that you can have a condition/ predetermination not to be able to carry boys but it wasn't the case for girls (thank goodness I thought, as I was thinking I was m/c girls). Anyway, I guess it doesn't matter either way, what will be will be but I really really hope this is your girl! :HH:

So chocolate, basically whatever diet im on, i should stick to till af really. And if i cant manage the IG diet for all that time, i should add in other foods the whole way through my cycle not just after ov...is that right? Basically we want to keep the blood sugar levels constant and for ttc girl, preferably low? Seriously, all this swaying brings out some kind of dyslexia that i've always thought i had! need to be told something about 20 times before it sinks in!

Inglewood I saw those after I got my 7 seater!!

Kelli how long does your bbt thermometer take to read, mine feels like it takes ages and I have to lay there listening to DS2 cry while I wait for it to take the temp!

Deaks - Ive been searching for that info but havent found it yet, if I come accross it Ill copy and paste. May have been in the Dream member section. Have you joined? It was only about £7 :-)

Deaks - you can take a baby aspirin every day (it'a round 80mg) but if you notice you're bruising easily or more or your periods are longer or heavier then you must cut back. I took mine 3 times a week then increased to every day when we had our attempt (throughout the 2ww and weaned off during the early weeks of my pregnancy). Some take it as an alternative to baby cranberry for acidity as it doesn't have the extra nutrients cranberry has - but they're both blood thinners so you mustn't take them together We don't know for sure how long it's important to keep blood sugar levels low but it's probably safe not to worry once you have a BFP (ie, not having to wait the whole 2ww if you get an early BFP). I kept my blood sugar levels low until I got my BFP BUT I was a bit more lenient with what I was actually eating - so you can eat a treat food if you still keep your blood sugar levels low by only having 2 or 3 small meals each day iykwim? My main treat was egg mayonnaise in my sandwiches! I would definitely have a blow-out meal on AF day if it took me a few months of trying!

Oh that looks interesting inglewood!

Chocolate mine takes probably around 10 seconds, I do mine internally tho not in my mouth, but I set my alarm to wake me at around 5am take the temp then go back to sleep, otherwise I'd not end up doing it because I know ds2 would be crying or shouting at me!

Thanks zanacal, i do take cranberry so when i have been taking baby aspirin it was at the opposite end of the day to the cranberry as i heard this is ok. Does it matter when you start/stop taking the aspirin?... i take it it doesn't affect blood sugar levels?

Inglewood, those seats look amazing and might prevent us having to buy a new car again!

Kell, I can't do mine internally as I know I'd leave the thermometer around and the kids would get it! I'm going to start taking mine in the evening too, read in bed for 10 mins then take it as I don't do it in the am as the boys keep alternating waking me up so it would read wrong anyway! Deaks, I haven't had much chance to look but there are study links in there and also think u can ask fertility specialists some questions. There is so much info on here already to take in, so will take me a while to read it all

i use boots digital fertility monitor, bought it on ebay for less than £10 it stores all your temps on a screen and you can set an alarm on it to go off everyday and when it bleeps i stick it in my mouth and go back to sleep and it goes off by itself when it has taken the temp. takes about 5 mins to get a stabilized reading

prob just change the car! but cool idea tho, dh is suprisingly up for it, but ds1 is almost 9 and they go up to 12yrs, so would need to change the car before loan term over if he didn't fit!! lol

Deaks, here is the info about sugar levels that was in members : Because XX fertilized eggs (the little clump of dividing cells AFTER fertilization, aka a blastocyst or the bean) divides and grows best in a low glucose environment, and XY divide and grow best in a medium glucose environment. Nobody likes high glucose and so your body takes steps to keep your glucose levels from becoming too high. Glucose is present in your cervical mucus and this is the environment the beans live in during the 2WW, when they implant in the uterus.

Of any aspect of swaying, this has the most evidence supporting it. Beyond the theory, researchers know for a fact that XX and XY suck up different amounts of glucose from their surrounding environment and they can even tell the difference between XX and XY based solely on the amount of glucose they suck up (all the rest of the swaying theories are totally hypothetical - no one has witnessed minerals, pH, etc making any difference at all). XX sucks up more than XY does, so XY may NEED extra glucose than XX does and XX might even suck up too much glucose.

Chocolate, the reason i buy sups online is not only do they tend to be a bit cheaper but also i think they contain less other ingredients. Like sometimes a certain supp/vitamin you want will have a few other vitamins/supps in it which you might not really want iykwim?!

Does anyone know if you can start taking vit E and zinc a few days after af? does it matter that its not at the start of af? also i know they are on the girl sway and will help implantation but im guessing they also go against the low nutrients rule?! so confusing!

Deaks there was mention somewhere about how if your sugar levels arent ideal for the embryo it may decide not to stay which may be a chemical ....... but I think that was speculation but still worth bearing in mind in the 2ww!! My sil had a chemical and I wonder if that was meant to be a boy but she didnt have enough glucose, (she has 2 girls and doesnt eat a particularly good diet, picks at stuff and eats yoghurts and sweets!) Where as I when ttc stopped all that and started going to the gym and eating healthily, so this time Im going to be lazy and eat boring food with little vitamins.
I think there is talk about the extra supps maybe not being great as they would provide more vitamins, but I think for me its worth it just incase. I may take a slightly smaller dose or something but Ill be taking zinc and vitamin E and B12. Maybe even just half the dose is better than nothing.

Sorry Sunset, I meant I went to H&B but it was pricey so went off to Boots but the boys were in no mood for hanging around so I didnt look. Good point Deaks about looking online to see whats in them, will order tonight. Ovulating today so need them for about 8 days time!

I keep changing my sway, felt soo stressy trying to sort out diet and supps I said this isnt good, my aim is to do the opposite of what I did with the boys. So no exercise, low stress, low nutrient and low calorie, abstinance and 0+12 if I can pinpoint it but will keep an eye on PH so hopefully it wont matter too much. So diet Im not even tracking minerals etc. just eating low sodium stuff, avoiding all red meat, try to eat leeks and beans and cucumber and smaller amounts of chicken and stick to rice and pasta and parmasan, caffeine free diet coke, and no tomato sauces, both of us will eat strawberries and yog's too.
For my OH Im concerntating on the same but a lot less strict, he can have jam sarnies instead of cheese sarnies and rice cakes instead of crisps. But there is no way I can track it all!

So in theory the start of my sway will be on my af around Christmas time! Am also going to be good in December but I have a weekend away and a christmas do plus christmas day food where Im not going to deprive myself but I wont go mad. If other women can have girls without avoiding christmas dinner then hopefully I can too lol!

Petal hope bubs arrives soon! xx

keep seeing newborns and getting broody, even more so over the boys - maybe its because they remind me of the newborn love with my sons. Sainsburys have such cute boy stuff and Im not that keen on their girl clothes ............ how odd!!

Littlemisswilko I think Ill skip the secret santa as Im so bad at keeping on top of stuff but sounds great :-)

When does the housework phase kick in?? Thats what I am waiting for! I don't mind watching my son play football, but in general I hate football. He also does gymnastics which is more my cup of tea. Inside with no mud!

I used to think Dora the exploror was the worse thing ever. Maybe what ever they are into, if you get it 24/7 for months on end it grates on you? Or is it just me?

Jees, the low blood sugar thing is finally starting to sink in.... why am i slow?! seriously i have a degree and am a teacher but when it comes to anything to do with science, maths or dates i am sooo dyslexic! SO, a female embryo needs a female (low blood sugar) environment to be conceived and develop in and a male needs the opposite. So if you suddenly switch just before or during fertilisation or even a while after, then the embryo wont be able to cope..right? GOT IT. Sorry i so slow everyone!

yeh that lamp is the rite one!

deaks, im too dyslexic when it comes to all this swaying malarky, i think its because you read something and then a few days later you read something else which contradicts the first thing you read and you forget it then go one and read something else that contradicts the first and second thing you read. There is no deffinate do's or dont's so this is how it becomes so confusing! :S

Just caught up!
I Just haven't been on the computer much at all as we had a super busy day yesterday as it was DS1's 4th Birthday so we went to the Dinosaur museum and Teddybear museum and then went to get dressing up outfits for his party on Sunday. Ds1 is going to be a pirate and Ds2 a ladybird! It was the only costume that I could buy that was small enough for him! He looks so cute in it!!

Ds1 is going through a Toy Story phase he could watch all three films back to back on a daily basis if he were allowed!

I read the blood sugar thing on here and it really makes sense to me! I'm just going to try and stick to the diet at leat 99% until BFP. I hope it's not too long.

LMW, Deaks how badly have you guys been cheating in the 2ww? A cheat to me would be to have a small bit of chocolate. Just wondering what others count as cheats?

Chocolate yay for TTC now! I was going to wait but was too broody and the more I read about swaying the more I just wanted too hurry up and start the diet so I was that much closer to being able to start TTC.

Lavenderlime - yep in the end finances made thechoice as we need to get the mat. Pay and who knows if my job will still be here in March, so will try end of dec. So could be due sept. Onwards when ds1 starts school - could be a good or bad thing! Just struggling with what to let OH eat as he needs ready meals for work, may just do supps and lower salt and see what his PH does! Def. Going to get the lamp and supps tomoz - spent all evening obsessing doing the food shop lol

Hey, Ive copied this from my post in members area, but this is my finalised plan, if anyone has anything to add please let me know :-)

I think I have finally decided on what I can do to the best of my abilities.
If you don't mind reading it and giving any tips if you feel I could easily improve anything.

PH: Mine is currently 5.6 to 6.5 so starting the diet today and hope that helps
OH's is 7.5 and not sure if we should try to lower a little more by changing anything else with him? Was going to put him on Licorice Root, 450mg, 3 times a day.

Diet: Im going to mimic IG diet, no red meat, no food till after 12 ish, lots of caffiene free diet coke and fake sugars, muller lights, plain pasta with parmasan cheese and leeks, or rice and chicken etc. Loose probably 2 pounds a week knowing me, minimal salt

OH -not too sure seeing as his PH is in the right lines, should I alter it too much?
Maybe just concentrate on lowering testosterone with limited red meat and reduce salt and increase dairy???

Supps: Me:
1mg folic acid all through cycle
100mg B6 - half in am half in pm from af to O to lengthen LP may try all the way through, worst case it delays O but that may not be a bad thing?
150mg B12 alongside B6 so I presume only take in from af to O
81mg baby asprin all through cycle but slowly wean off before the 3rd trimester
400 iui vitamin E to prevent miscarriage all through cycle
50mg zinc all through cycle
320MG Saw Palmetto to decrease my testosterone from AF to O

OH: 450mg 3 times a day from AF to O

Ions: Im wearing an ionic wrist band, have an ion hairdryer, and a rock salt lamp coming soon. Am using lavender soap and body lotion, will try to get lots of fresh air with easy walks, find a small fan for when on laptop, and laptop plug in ioniser

Douche and gels: Hoping PH will come down and then use rephresh as a lube

Timing: Abstinance aiming to dtd with a condom on about cd 6 after af, then not again until 0+12 which should be between worst case day 14 and 20 so between a 8 day and 15 cut off. I ovulated this month on cd17 but will start supps and B6 and see what happens next month.
Shallow penetration with missionary and no O for me

Try to limit stress and just chill out, hope testosterone levels dropping helps with this! I have PCOS so thats really important.
OH will change to tight pants, and use heat pads to heat his testicles to try to lower sperm count.

I am also on metformin to reduce sugar levels and will actually try to eat wholegrain rice and pasta to prevent sugar levels spiking as that for me is the most important as that will trigger off more testosterone if I dont keep them stable and low.

Aiming to ttc around the end of Dec. but if PH is right and timing is perfect then will give the next cycle a shot, although that would mean only 1month on diet etc. and I suspect a short LP of 9 days so wanted to see if B6 improved that first. Will ask dr about if there is anything I can take just incase.

So my main concern is OH's diet - his PH is 7.5 and thats with tea, coffee, salty crisps, minimal veg and fruit, should I change his diet at all or just add in the Licorice Root?

Could he take premade rice and chicken, we allowed green salad so chicken salad, he would have lots of eggs, basically he wasnt allowed red meats. He would often get salad bowls from subway - not brilliant but better than his bacon sarnies!

Hi Ladies

Attempting to reply but feel crap and the boys are being absolute arses :( ds1 and 2 have suddenly starting arguing constantly i think ds1 is now wanting to be older and ds2 is sticking his ground but being mean with it - locking ds1 downstairs with the stairgate or upstairs - i tend to leave them open now as he is ok with the stairs grrrrrrrrrrrrr i just feel too poorly to deal with them nicely right now!!! I look horrendous spotty, my mouth is sore from being sick and feel pukey most of the time - can only drink fizzy water or 'ting' a grapefruit fizzy drink!! I can get through as long as this baby is ok :D

Need you opinions - i have a scan tuesday - i will be almost 7wks however i am planning on cancelling TOUCH WOOD spotting has stopped (been taking vit c as read on my pregnancy app and it seems to have helped) so if i dont get scanned this week I will be booking in with my doctor thursday who will go by my LMP and put me at 9wks not 7wks.....so in theory i should get a scan through when i am 10wks not 12......which will be more reassuring to me as that is when we found out my MC baby wasnt viable....if i have the scan this week I wont get my 12wk scan till 12wks.......am i right to be a little naughty and cancel the early one?? I know even if i try and explain my dates to my doctor they wont listen as they didnt with ds2 or 3

chocolate - your sway sound really good - are you planning on taking cranberry at all?? I think that helped my ph as it was 7 or more before I began that and the diet. DH also took cranberry, for his diet I just stopped buying red meat, tomatoes, putting salt in any of our food - encouraged him to eat a girl friendly diet, made him lots of chicken meals, salads, sarnies. He cut down his alcohol too. Abstainance sounds good and your o+12 I hope you get your pink BFP very quickly when you attempt x

Congrates petal! Must go on fb.....

Charlie- do what makes you feel most comfortable. It's not long after you see the hb you get your nt scan. But if the early scan is free would it be worth it to see the pole and sac?

charlieispy
November 12th, 2011, 07:52 AM
For me it doesnt bring much reassurance as I had a great scan at 6wks with my MC baby then at 10wks it wasnt viable - I 'think' i would get a 10wk and a 12wk scan as the nuchal fold cant be done at 10wks??

Morning all, Congrats to Petal!! Lovely news.....

Ds1 off to friends later, so ds2 will be a wee lost soul. Will maybe take him food shopping with me to pass the time.

Not sure what to suggest Charlie, I would prob want the scan asap after recent bleeding.... just me tho....worrier...

Ah, congrats Petal!

Charlie yes thats a hard one, I had ammc at 12 weeks but never knew why as never had the scan, wish Id have had one earlier to know earlier and also it may have given me a reason why it happenned.

I got my OH some low salt micro currys, and other meals which didnt include red meat, but did have tomato sauce but he has been having that anyway and still within girl ph range. Still looking into how food effects the men and what effect that has on the gender but app. its the females diet and environment that counts.

Sainsburys have 3 for 2 on xmas pressies so I got a heat up thing with lavender in for me, and someheat up sachet hand warmers for OH to use in his tight pants, hes going to love that lol!
Im not adding cranberry yet as app. something else I am taking does the same thing or something, or read something that dismissed the cranberry and feel I should take as little nutrients as poss. to be 'un healthy' for the sway.

Got my supps etc. today so ready to go! Wish I could take from O to AF though as just o'd so cant do much really!

zanacal
November 12th, 2011, 12:01 PM
chocolate - you can take your Saw Palmetto from O to AF so long as you're certain you're not pregnant - so if you haven't started ttc yet and are using protection when you DTD you don't need to worry!

Congratulations Petal! :)

Wow you guys have been busy chatting! I can't remember whats been written!
Chocolate and deaks i think we may all be looking at ttc around the same time! DP gets paid on friday so i'll be buying supp's and Represh etc then. I know how to detect ovulation and read my cycles pretty well already so i'll be charting properly for probably just one month. My af is due thursday so don't have long to wait! I'll be starting the diet properly as well come tomorrow!

I've been busy helping my sister clean her house as she moves out tomorrow, I feel so sorry for her as she lives with her dp and one of his friends, The friend is a lazy arse and has literally not lifted a finger, They are living in a big 3 bedroom house atm and just doesn't care that cleaning and tidying needs to happen. He is just doing his own room. I about bit his head off when he dared moan about me hoovering when he was watching the telly, after having spent 6 hours scrubbing the kitchin and conservatory, i was not in the mood for him!
Only problrm is i have come home to the mess i left, plus the dishes weve used, and not had a chance to deal with as been out most of the time! I need a cleaning fairy to come round!

Must get going, ds1 is desperate to play monoploy, i've promised we will so must get to it!

Zanacal its funny as OH decided last night was the night to dtd lol, which I think would have been spot on 0+12, but, how do I say this ......... he was basically inside me for a bit before I said you better put a condom on, then after I laughed saying you better not of let any out before putting the condom on because sods law there was pre-ejaculation at the prime time!
I have heard that can happen but no idea the likelihood of it, but think the chance must be like 1% ........... but just knowing that will make me wait to take the SP.

Kelli, so when are you due to ttc?
If O+12 is at a convenient time for us to dtd, then we will try next cycle so aorund 4 weeks away which means only 4 weeks on the diet and monitoring PH but I dont want to waste a cycle as I think DTD during those critical 8 hours will be difficult! What is your plan?

hi hi

I've just been trying to read back over old posts but I'm so exhausted I'm going cross-eyed... :P

Well we told DHs parents today. I am trying to take it easy what with the spotting so we asked them to help out. Apparently DHs mum said she was relieved I'm PG as apparently she was worried that I was getting a bit over being home with the kids :D - no just feeling like death warmed up... gotta love MS!

Oh and apparently his mum was telling him how they tried to sway with baby #5 (they had BGBBB) and they changed their diet and tried timing and they got boy #4! Darn - not what I wanted to hear!!

Went to my friends baby shower today. She is expected a little girl. I felt a bit overwhelmed when she was opening all the presents - beautiful little outfits and blankets etc... I think she was desperately hoping that she would have a boy... she is in a family where they only have girls.

Congratulations Petal!!!

Charlie - oh dear - sounds like you are really suffering from the MS!! I'm not doing too badly. I am trying to remember when my MS stopped the last 2 times!! It wipes you out big time doesn't it!

Bleurghhhhhhh still cant decide about scan either

Petal - hope you are enjoying beautiful baby cuddles

Sunset - :O cant believe its 30wks that is crazy....not long to go hun and yes HOW have you not gone pink crazy?!?!!??

threelittlemen - ooooh yes secret santa :D hope i feel well enough to create....havnt sorted the boys presents out yet!!! Am usually so organised - luckily my BIL and SIL are taking the older boys to the tring national history musuem so hopefully i can rest a bit - not that they know so have to look ok when they pick up and drop off lol

Hey all!!!!
Thank-you all so much for your congrats, our beautiful litte boy Oakley was born friday 11.11.11 weighing 7lbs 7oz's. He is soo cute, im gonna try and post a pic on here if i cant figure it out!
I went in thursday evening to be induced, was awful saying bye to the boys and dh, they came in with me and i cried so much when they left :-(. I got given my first dose of prostin at 11.30pm (had to wait until then as delivery suite had a few emergencies) i was 1 cm dialated at that point. Had no twinges all night so got given a second dose at 8.30am friday, i was then 2cm, i couldnt believe only 1cm change all night!! Dh came in at 9.30am after dropping the boys at school and we went walking round the hosp to get things moving lol, was having a few pains and they got more intense, the midwife checked me just after 3pm and i was 3cm, the contractions were getting bad so they took me to delivery room, they werent busy (thank god) and i got a room with ensuite this time ;-) the contractions were really painful so i got my epidural at 4.20pm, was great :-) then 20 mins later the pain returned!! i was like wtf!!! was really low down pain and i just had a feeling, the midwife went to check me and said if i felt like pushing to do so, so i did, 2 pushes later he was out!!! 4.57pm! i couldnt believe how quick it went, in my notes my labour length says 2hrs 34mins! lol.
I was gonna go home that night but they said it wouldnt be until 11pm, so i decided id stay on the ward, got no sleep what so ever but was so worth it. Oakley is just soo perfect and seriously cute lol. The boys adore him and want to hold and cuddle him all the time lol. BF going well, although he had some sma yesterday and today as a little top up until i have enough milk for him.
Thanks again for all your lovely messages on here and fb, im am sooo happy with my baby boy and couldnt imagine never having him in our family :-)
Love to you all x
