So sorry to hear all of that minimatron :( I wish that every pregnant woman have a stress free life while going through the very special 9 months! Its not fair that life can take away from that. The best thing you can do is just find some time each day to forget about it all and just focus on the little baby you are bringing into this world. Have you got any favorite names on your list so far?

Thanks cinns.. I'm feeling a little deflated today too. I've had a bad night sleep with dd3 and she is just a live wire and is always doing something that needs attention. She never stops. I'm constantly asking myself what have I done and wondering how I will manage. I'm praying she settles down. I know it will be fine, I've done this with a much less age gap. I'm just tired, getting a cold and I'm actually feeling really fat. I've gained much more weight than previously. Ah.. oh well. I'm sure it will be all good.

As for names. Nothing!

mini-sorry you are feeling sick hopefully u don't get a cold. As for the other stuff I felt just like that too. Like I really don't need another kid it will be so hard ect. Well it is hard but Im alone to do it all. Also omg I felt so big and fat it made me crazy. Still fat now and trying to loose the weight. It's going slow. But once the baby is here and you are not pregnant anymore it is easier. At least we can bend down lol

Hi all

Just wanted to say congratulations to you all for your new babies, those whose sway was successful and those whose it was not. Flava big congrats to you especially and Begonia you sound like a perfect girl mum so I am sure you are tough enough to handle one more challenging girl as girls as we all know are challenging non stop.

I did the lazy sway of French Gender Diet only and nothing else and amazingly it worked for me. I am still in a great state of schock as I grew up with sisters only and have 2 girls. I am genuinely concerned that I do not have a single clue how to raise a boy. My friends with mixed gender children keep telling me that boys are so much easier and less complicated but I am still worried. Just curious whether any of you are feeling the same way? I really and honestly thought that this baby was going to be a girl and only ever seriously imagined myself as a mum of 3 girls. Look forward to your thoughts

Layla i feel the same, it is so strange to say out loud "my son" and all the blue in his cupboard is weird, but in a good way, i did feel very out of place the first time i did a boy shop! Who knew that there is hardly any boy clothes etc compared to the girls sections. I still get the terrifying thought that he will pop out and i will be told its a girl, i have another scan tomorrow though so hoping to see the goods again :)

Layla-congrats to you! There is really no much different with a boy baby at first. And I guess we just get use to things as the baby grow. For now really he just have all the leftover toys from the girls so only the clothes are different really. He got 2 dog so far but they also would be good for girls too really.

cinss-I hate that target have so little boy clothes WTH , right? It's like I can't buy nothing there. Babyrus has lot's of boy stuff but it faraway from us.

ELP- good luck! Hopefully baby is all healthy and nothing is wrong. Did you tell the kids and DH yet about the new baby?

It was around 36 weeks that he went head down, but the cheeky monkey is still posterior, i think he is going to stay that way because his head is so low now. I'm sure yours will flip too, the midwives kept telling me it's because there is more room to move after your 1st pregnancy.

You can try and help him stay low so he will stay vertex... Do lots of squats, walk stairs, etc. Also, you can walk on two different levels, so walking along a street with one foot on the sidewalk and one of the road. Looks funny but encourages baby to stay deep in the pelvis :)

Just an update from me. Had a scan yesterday to check baby's kidneys. The fluid has risen so I will need to have another scan in 5 weeks and a chat to the renal specialist. They also came across low amniotic fluid so I had a few obstetricians in asking me all sorts of questions. They think I may have a leak, which might explain the excess moisture I have down stairs! I will have another scan in about 12 days to monitor levels. Might explain why baby is still in the same position as he was all those weeks back and why every movement he makes is getting quite painful. I'm just praying that everything turns out OK and he is healthy. I'm still working two afternoons a week and I'm buggered but I may have to think about slowing down, pending the next scan.

Hope you are all well x

Thanks girls. I'm not too sure yet, I guess we have to see what the fluid levels are like at the next scan in 12 days. Then I'm sure they will explain it all. I've been reading up a bit on it... Don't want to do.too much googling... But ill increase my fluid intake and see if that helps. All I want is a healthy baby so I'll do whatever I need to. I'll keep you updated though.

That pic is so cute Cinss.

I am just getting back to some sort of normality at the moment. My DD was called in on a cancellation for her hip operation to correct her hip developmental dysphasia. And just when we had booked her into hospital I got the news that my Granny died. I have DD back home now and left work early so I am effectively on maternity leave now with the exception of going in for a hand over to my cover

DD is doing OK she isn't able to walk at the min so I am trying to keep her entertained but she keeps asking to go to the playground. But she should start being mobile again in about 2 weeks or less. She is so good, not really complaining at all.

I'm really looking forward to meeting him. Its so cute how kids like to imitate you. Glad to hear things are going well and you are getting some sleep x

Pearl you sound busy. Sorry to hear of your bad news. Its always terrible when someone close to you passes. My dd1 had hip dysplasia but fortunately she progressed well in a pavlik harness and that was it. She and all my other girls had talapies too and some pretty funky looking ones at that. Dd1 has a turn in her foot now and has orthotics, but that's easily felt with. Speedy recovery to your dd.... and best wishes to you coz its hard.

Hi mini, my DD was in the palvik harness too , but she had a shallow hip socket so we were told from the beginning that she would most likely need the op. she was taken out of the harness after 6 weeks and had regular x-rays to assess her progress. Her right hip corrected to the normal ranges but the left was still a few degrees away from normal at her 2 yr check up. That is as long as they give them in Ireland as much older then that and the op becomes a lot more severe. But she is out the other side of it now and has a support brace to wear for 3 weeks which is more for pain relief then anything else. So she should be well back on her feet before the little man arrives.

They do it differently here. Dd1 was in the harness from 6 weeks old until 8 months old. Her coverage was under 25% on one side and marginally better on the other. I hope she's doing okl with it all. They are pretty adaptable though. I found it hard, the struggle of learning how to manage my first child all over again, to wash her, to carry her to comfort her. Then I'd get all nervous each time an ortho appointment would come up and then be in tears walking out after being told to have it on for longer. When dd2 was born and she had mild hip dysplasia and the physio telling me she would need to go straight into a harness, I lost it and they sent the social worker to me lol. Thankfully her scans were more wait and see and she was fine. Dd3 was all clear. I'll be getting this one checked too, particularly because he's remained breech.

Minimatron, I hope all is well for you! I didn't read back too far but take it that your fluid is low. Will be KFX that all is ok.

Cinss and Flava, love the pics!!! Seeing cute baby boys gets me so excited to have this baby. I have already started buying some clothes and I have to say it's such a fun change. My girls are SO excited they can barely stand it.

Pearl, so sorry to hear about your granny....hope your DD is alright as well and you enjoy your early leave! I would love to quit work right now and just take extra good care of myself and do stuff around the house, like get the baby's room together for one. We recently moved and his room is currently a storage room/man cave.

Lola pregnancy colds are the worst. I hope you feel better soon. After a very cold spring here the weather has finally started to warm up so I am taking advantage of the heat and the time off work :)

Mini at least we have less of a chance of going through the DDH again this time since it is far less common in boys then in girls. Your DD was in the harness a long time. It must have been a very stressful time for all of you. My DD stood up herself yesterday 11 days after the surgery with her brace off. We have to take it off for at least an hr a day this week so she can start moving the joint. She was so delighted with herself. She just has 10 more days to wear it, but we can start leaving it off her more and more.

Boy mums... Are there any tips for nappy changing? I am getting peed on at least once a day and have had poop showers twice... Not fun at 3am! DD never did this i have tried waiting for after feeds, before feeds, while he is asleep and awake but it is like as soon as the nappy comes off he pees and poops.

Too funny... Obviously no experience here so I'm watching to Learn.

My baby is breech and with low water it will be apparently hard to turn. Baby will have to have u/s on hips due to my family history of hip dysplasia.

Make that 3 times! DP cut a piece of wood and slid it in at the foot end of the change table to act as a barrier between my clothes and babys bum. Hope this works! Pee problem not really solved with this solution though i still need advice on that one?

cinss lololol you poor thing! DD4 did this the most for us. Pee and poop all the time on us rofl. But it will stop soon when baby is bigger. DS did pee on us sometimes too for a short time. Just for a couple weeks. What we did is open the diaper wait a couple sec then lay in back on him so he can pee in it if he have too. I guess they pee because of the cold after the warm diaper is off.
Also do not change it in the middle of the night if there is no poop in it or not full with pee! I did that too with all the girls but with this baby we learned if then is just a little pee in it then is better to let him go sleep really .Everyone was a lot happier for sure!

What a shame about both of your little DD's hips Pearl and Mini, I think its so clever how they can pick these things up at birth isn't it! I know that first hip check is awful at the time but it shows how it is worth doing:agree:

Pearl you have weeks to go!!! I'm extremely jealous lol, I still ahve bloat rather than bump and I want a proper bump instead of having to say 'Oh thats still leftovers from the last one'whenever anyone comments on how I'm, 'showing'!

I cannot wait to meet my little man at this stage. My hospital bags are all packed and i am going into work this week for 4 days and then I am finished up until mid may 14. I hope he doesn't keep me waiting much longer then the 5 weeks I have left and preferably less .

I'll catch up with everyone else tomorrow but I had to throw this out.
Minimatron - my son was still breach at 35 weeks and we were both measuring full term when I managed to turn him. Check out spinningbabies.com, I used inversions, heat and music to get his stubborn butt to flip. It's worth a try, right?

Thanks for that 3pink1blue. I was looking at that site and inversions too. How long did you do it for before he turned?

Mini there were a few breech and posterior bubs in my due date group, all turned on their own before birth so i think yours will too. My bub turned from posterior 8 hours before he popped out.

my little dude was breech up until the 30 something week mark, I tried music and some of the things on the spinning babies site and it seemed to work. He was also posterior and was delivered that way, DD2 was also born posterior

Thanks girls. I suppose my concern is more that the fluid is so low that the bigger he gets the harder it is for him to turn. I'm awake at 3 am because his feet were stuck in my hip and I couldn't move. Ouch... Better get to sleep....
