On to your question, I DON'T hold back on liquids.. at ALL for OPKs. I have had no issues still pinpointing O despite it. I am like you and my bladder just won't let me do a hold, and I am quite thirsty most of the time so I just do my thing and test when I test. Now, if I KNOW I just guzzled a bunch all at once I'll wait awhile to test, but for the usual, everyday all day norm I just test when I pee at some point in the evening and don't really think much about how much I've had to drink. As I said, I've never had issues getting a +OPK, so I don't think it matters as much with OPKs as it does with HPTs.

I would agree. I've never limited liquids and have never had a problem with opks. I usually test twice a day-- around 2pm and before bed (midnight).

Thanks! Do you think I need to test again or can I just assume it will be positive this evening and start dtd? I'm doing the SMEP plan so I would dtd for the next three days.

I always test with opks twice a day-- in the afternoon and again before bed (midnight), so I'd go ahead and just test again tonight. If you're swaying for a boy though then you're fine to start BD tonight and the next three days. I think it's only with a girl sway that we try to be most accurate since there's only one attempt and too early is not good. Good luck!

Soooo first month charting... I seriously never ever wake up at the same time, obviously... And I'm not too good at the whole don't move, take temp etc thing lol I'm trying. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/31/ef412c969b7e024e483bc90abfad1667.jpg

I think your chart looks great Lauren! I've been charting off and on for 11 years (I have 68 charts to look back on) and even waking up an hour earlier or later doesn't really seem to affect my temps too much. Sometimes I even get up and walk to the bathroom to temp and that's never affected anything either. Maybe running around the house for an hour would, but not for a few minutes. During the week I take my temp the same time around 7am every day because I have to get up to get the kids ready for school, but on the weekends sometimes I sleep through my alarm and don't temp till 9:30 or so. They are always in the correct range for pre-O or post-O temps, even if they are a little higher or lower. Once you get a few cycles of charting in you'll see how lax you can be in your temping. I've never tried not to move, etc.

Well, I cancelled my d&c. I am just going to wait it out and see what happens. I was freaking out about it too much. I have an appointment with my OB on Sept 14th and she'll do an ultrasound. I'll see if anything has changed and go from there. Thank all of you for your support!! This has been such a difficult thing.

For those who have had a chemical pregnancy in the past, when did you ovulate? I got a positive opk today (four days sooner than I usually do). I'm temping as well so I'll see if I actually do ovulate, but wouldn't I get a + opk later rather than earlier? We BD every 4 days and today is actually the next BD day so that kind of works out well, but I'm still thinking it might just be a false surge before the real thing? I don't know...I've never gotten a + opk this early...

I would do the same thing momamia.

Sorry but I have another opk question. I just took another test and its lighter but I'm wondering if that means my urine is more diluted or its already on the way down. Another question, I read that the cervix dilated during ovulation and I'm feeling that, a lot of pain down there but not typical O cramps. Does that mean I'm ovulating right now? Has anyone experienced this?

CD 1, month three for us! Good news, I had a 27 day cycle! My cycles have regulated so much since having DS2! He was conceived on a 41 LONG cycle! I have started my raspberry leaf tea (I used with DS2). We will probably use preseed this month too. I am so impatient.lol I am going to make sure DH has at least 4 days without releasing before our first attempt at positive OPK!

Quinn- I always take my opks with second morning urine because they are always lighter later on. As for your cervix, it will go up higher, soften and open up to 5 days before you ovulate. Usually on the day you O it will close. So if it is open you have not ovulated yet, but you are going to. My cervix opens three days before I ovulate then is very tightly closed the day that FF says I ovulate.

Yes, there are quite a few of us unfortunately :( It's kinda sad. Nice to have like-positioned people for support but very sad that so many beans said goodbye :( Hopefully, we can all get our BFPs this month. Sticky BFP dust all around!

I can't really weigh in here. My CP was a blip on the radar. It only delayed AF a couple days. I O'd early the following cycle but there were extenuating circumstances involved so I doubt it had much to do with the CP. Just wanted to say good luck. Hope you get your sticky rainbow baby!

It's possible (all of the above) but honestly the only definitive answer to any of it is a temp shift. Do you chart?

I don't. I feel like it would make me crazy. Especially because I don't get up at the same time everyday.

I had never heard of the cervix dilating but when I looked online I read a few people experiences it. It's really uncomfortable, kind of like my first postpartum afs. I guess I know O is right around the corner or already here. Good thing we dtd last night!

Your cervix dilates every cycle.... actually twice every cycle. Once for O to let sperm in and once for AF to let all that out. I get random cervical pain from time to time (did this morning in fact). Sometimes it's around O time but not always. Either way, good luck!

To be honest Netti I'm not really sure what my usual is... The last 2 months off the pill have been CD 30. I have been a long term user of OCP, have always conceived quickly and only started charting before DS3 so I don't have a lot of information to go on :)

As for the tea, I did read a thread earlier, I have attempted to quote from but let's see if it works:

I hope tea doesn't sway. I know caffeine in high quantities can sway girl though. But if tea itself sways anything but pink I am in trouble lol. Water is ok but I get so sick of it. I drink water all day at school because it's easy to refill my water bottle but at home I drink tea... or if it's super hot I drink lemonade.

Grrr. Me and my lungs are about to duke it out. The steroid shot seemed to help for about a day now it seems to have just hulked the bug out. Started the antibiotic so hopefully that will help. Took a long HOT HOT bath this morning to try to open my lungs up and hopefully get things moving since I can't take mucinex like I normally would. I'm breathing slightly easier now but still nothing is moving. Feels like I have concrete in my lungs. I hate getting sick. I had asthma as a kid so I'm guessing my lungs are not as strong as they could be because every time I get sick it attacks my lungs :( Wish I knew of something pink friendly that would work as an expectorant. Anybody know of anything? I know steam is an option but I can't do that all day long. I have school.

On a more positive note... CD 6 today and AF is on her way out and her visit this time was back to normal. No horrid post D&C AF this time. Hoping that means I am all healed up and ready to get knocked up :giggle: One more day of clomid (tomorrow) then the wait to O begins. Not alot of clomid side effects this round. I had one insanely hot hotflash night before last but that has pretty much been it other than the random ovary pinches/cramps. Ready to get this show on the road :D

Two, you could put some Vix VapoRub right on your chest. It has menthol in it which will kind of burn a little bit. If you're not into that, my mom used to put some on a small piece of cloth and pin it to our shirts. It seems weird, but it really does help. Although, if you had to get a steroid shot, I think you should just take the Mucinex to help your lungs. Pneumonia isn't a good thing to have when you're pregnant. Atomic always says that you have to do what you need to do for health above how it sways. Your health is most important! I hope you get better soon! I had a nasty chest infection right before my tubal reversal. I actually had to push my reversal out a month because of it. It was brutal. Take care of yourself! :D

Best of luck babyonboard and atsaukina1. Most of the waiting game has passed lol

Thx. My sway isn't all that strong and keeps getting weaker.. from my perspective anyway. My diet isn't great because I have to eat on the go. Wendy's chilli for lunch yesterday, McDonalds mcChicken for lunch today. Plus one of my classes is 3 hours long and back to back with another class so no time to get anything to eat so we take turns bringing in food and today they brought cookies. I was hungry and some cookies lol. I can't skip breakfast because if I do I can't eat until after 1 and my brain doesn't work well if I don't eat... I just sit in class and stare off into oblivion because I can't focus. We are adding a BD attempt this cycle, too. Clomid is the biggest thing we have going for us. Just would hate to undermine what little we've got going for us unnecessarily. I will if I have to... I'd rather take mucinex now if it comes to that than to take antibiotics for pneumonia in the 1st tri if I can avoid it, but I want to try to see if something else will work for me first.

Totally jumping off point here but gender selection is up for review in Australia again as i think Dr Potter was recently here. Well you should see some of the comments people have about it right down to the definition of people who would be seeking it rofl.

Anyway hopefully it is passed for the future it would make it alot easier for Australian couples.

Momamia-- I'm so sorry you are still in limbo. I think you did the right thing in cancelling your D&C and waiting it out. I would have done the same. Fingers crossed for you that you get some answers soon.

Does anyone know if tea sways a particular way? Ive been trying to cut down snacking even on night shift and i find tea helps. I just take it with milk.

Green and white tea sway boy. I drank white tea daily and sometimes green as well, when I got pregnant with both my boys. I am completely avoiding it now (black tea as well) and only drinking coffee. Herbal non-caffeinated teas (except for peppermint) seem neutral. If I must drink tea then I do camomile with honey. Peppermint tea sways girl and I do drink that during AF.

10dpo af gtdue tomorrow. I'll be testing first thing:)
And my phone camera sucks so it def. Wouldn't get a good pic. Think I was just willing myself to see something lol.

Good luck Atsaukina!!! Fingers crossed for you!

I'm 5dpo and have been having uterine cramps since 2dpo. I don't ever get cramps any more, even during AF. My lower back has been hurting as well. And today, TMI, but I had a TON of sticky cm. But the most interesting thing was that last night I went grocery shopping with DS2 and the whole time I was in the store I kept smelling a gross urine smell-- like that of a homeless man that hasn't bathed in a month! I kept looking around to see if there was someone following me, but nothing! I asked DS2 and he said he didn't smell anything LOL! Then late last night I remembered that the same thing happened a year ago right before I found out I was pregnant with #3. I was so grossed out a year ago that I even posted about it on Facebook! So I went back one year on my Facebook wall, found the post and the date, went back on my chart and found out that I started smelling urine daily at 6dpo LOL!!!! I posted on Facebook about how my sons' bathroom reeked like a men's urinal and that I had thrown bleach all over the floor three days in a row and then I posted days later about the grocery store reeking as well! It was actually one of my Facebook friends that posted that it sounded like I was pregnant and it turned out she was right! So fingers crossed! When I was pregnant with DS1 I though DH reeked! His breath always smelled to me even after brushing his teeth! When I'm not pregnant, I've never thought he's smelled!

I'll test at 11dpo with a FRER like last time. I had nice dark lines then. In the past I've gotten BFPs at 10dpo, but 11dpo will give me a for sure result that's not a squinter. A BFN at 11dpo has always been a true BFN for me.

Why exactly is it not allowed there? Is there a specific, government ordained reason or just popular vote (sorry I'm not 100% what form of government Australia has  I think democracy but not sure). Feel free to share some of the comments! I'm intrigued!

I saw an article on a local news site about Dr Potter/Gender Selection and the comments were annoying. One women said she has a boy and a girl but if she has two the same she would still be happy and people should be happy with what they are given... yeah well it's nice to say that when you have no idea how it feels to experience gender disappointment (and I am very much happy with my two boys!)

I always say anything before 10 DPO is just for fun. The odds of getting a BFP at 10 DPO are small... before 10 DPO is extremely rare. :fx: you get a BFP soon!

I think they had it before 2005 and then it became restricted to only allow people with to use it if they are trying to avoid certain genetic conditions.
We have a democracy here but not everything is put up for a public vote. We vote for a preferred political party based on the policies they present to the public. Only things that need to change the constitution need to go to a referendum, although there is another thing they can do to let the public decide on a policy which there is talk they will do to decide if we will allow same-sex marriage but the gender selection decision isn't big enough to go to that.

As you can tell by my post I'm not super political with my terminology.. :)

Got ya :) Thanks for filling me in. I still don't understand why it got restricted in the first place... Too many of one gender being born?? I'd doubt that considering most ppl can't afford IVF/PGD, but you never know. Seems like such a silly thing to restrict to me. There are sooooo many more pressing matters in this world, ya know?

Last dose of clomid taken and the wait to O begins.

The vicks and honey concoction didn't seem to be helping so I finally caved and started taking the mucinex. My hope is that by not wasting anymore time I can get this kicked out quickly and maybe even avoid having to take it around attempt time since I have at least a week before I O. I also found an old inhaler and that has done a lot to allow me to breath fairly well. I should finish my antibiotics on CD 10 so hopefully I'll be feeling better by then and can drop mucinex and all and get back to normal but if I have to continue taking it I'm not going to let myself be stubborn about it. If I'm not healthy then I risk the baby's health and that's not a risk worth taking. Atomic says Femara sways even more than Clomid but Femara doesn't change CM so maybe the clomid will still work for our sway even if I have to use mucinex around attempt time. Either way, since we are not willing to take a cycle off, what will be will be. We want a girl but would love a boy too :) So, if we catch the egg this cycle then, boy or girl, we will be thrilled :)

For ethical reasons its def not allowed in china and India and don't even think their allowed to tell you gender until after a certain point. If they elected a more religious person/ think Republican here then they might ban for that. Again the numbers are probably pretty small for people using it for gender.
Bfn again this morning. 11dpo w very concentrated fmu on a free. Again looked like maybe something. Maybe. Af due today if it keeps up with same pattern which is af ranging from 35-28 but keep 10 day lp every time. The wait continues:)

I'm in the 2ww now as well (I'm pretty sure I'm 1dpo). I don't know if it is a coincidence but I read some information about syncing cycles with the moon and slept with the blinds open for 3 nights to get the moon/street light in. Normally I sleep in complete darkness so I wonder if that is one reason why my cycles are so long as I read it can delay ovulation.
If I'm not pregnant this cycle I am very curious to try it again next month to see if there is anything to it.

I've heard of that. Even experimented with it back during my marathon TTC with DS#2 when I was trying to figure out how to get my body to O. It didn't work for me BUT my O wasn't delayed or late... my O was AWOL. That's a big reason it took so long to TTC #2! From Jan 2007 when we started TTC #2 until Dec 2009 when we finally conceived I had 4 ovulatory cycles. So there could be some truth to it

I'm back! 3dpo. DH was gone the week leading up to O, so I think we caught it just in time if we did. We BD'ed around 2pm and I woke up at 3am Monday morning with severe O pains so we timed it about 12hrs so I really hope that's all it takes! This month has been hard on me. Just starting to feel the frustration. No real symptoms - my nipples aren't as sore as they were last month so that's about it. My dilemma is: my last insurance didn't cover my 21 day progesterone check because my doctors office coded it as infertility (unbeknownst to me). So we paid $105 dollars just to tell me I was ovulating, which I already knew. My new insurance I just picked up yesterday covers $15,000 of infertility so this would be covered, but is it even worth it? I'm just not sure.

Essence - your symptoms sound really promising!! You know your body best and that sounds like a great sign! I'll be stalking to see your BFP!

Two - I hope you're feeling better, and I'm glad you have some time to feel better before O. How was Clomid for you this cycle?

I'm so excited to see more bfps this month! :)

I just looked it up and my last several cycles I O'd under a waning moon or a brand spanking new moon.
March 19: first day of new moon
June 7th: Waning gibbous
July 13: waning crescent- 3 nights before 1st new moon
Aug 12: Last day of waning crescent, night before 1st new moon

and *IF* I O around CD 15 like last cycle I'll still be following that pattern as CD 15 will be Sept 10th which will be a waning crescent moon, 2 nights before the first new moon. I'm curious now if I'll follow the same pattern!! :giggle: It's been a LONG time since I considered the moon cycle-wise. Interesting topic! Thanks for bringing it up :D

I wondered where you disappeared to!! :fx: you caught the egg! Did you just get that one attempt in or more?

This cycle I am still waiting to O as you know, so I am assuming you want to know how it went last cycle?? Last cycle was a dream. O hurt like nothing I've ever felt before without first having been on a surgical table, lol, but I O'd early. I can count on one hand (and don't even need all my fingers) the number of times I have O'd before CD 17, my usual being CD 20+, but I O'd CD 15. Unfortunately, we didn't catch the egg which I was concerned about right from attempt day. My CM was a bit too thick on attempt day. There was a smidge of EW but mostly it was nearly elmer's glue thick CM. This cycle, so far there isn't much to tell. I had 1 killer hotflash a few nights ago and some ovary pinches here and there but nothing much going on just yet. Still spotting from AF (internal only.. there was some spotting on my therm this morning but when I wipe the tissue looks like AF is gone so it's not even coming out) and I'm not sure if I can trust my temps thanks to the bronchitis and this morning's temp was pretty high... So, there really isn't much to tell yet this cycle. I don't know if you saw my update but I prob won't be getting a follicle study this cycle. My ins won't pay for it so I have to pay up front. Since I don't have that much $$ just lying around I'll prob have to skip it this cycle. I am hoping to get my student aid refund next week but they process them on Tuesdays and Thursdays so the earliest I could get it would be CD 13, which is the day they want to do it BUT I usually don't get it until evening AND I'll be in school all day. I don't know if they would work me in on the morning of CD 14 if I have the money or not so we'll have to wait and see how it plays out. I'm dying to know... it was soooo cool to be able to see my giant follicle last cycle and if we would have conceived last cycle... talk about baby's first picture  So I have my :fingers: that I'll be able to get it but we'll see :)

:fx::fingers::pray: for you!

Two: Ugh, that doesn't sound like fun. I hear you on painful ovulation - the last two times on Clomid it has been crippling. Like, I'm starting to wonder if I would O on my own without the help of Clomid. Do you O on your own naturally? Hoping though that you O again fairly soon. Yeah I quit temping during Clomid because I hate how it makes my temps fluctuate. This time around mine got up to 97.7 and then down a bit right before O? Don't know what that's all about. And I hope your O isn't as painful this time around, although I will say mine was still miserable!

I may still temp the next few days since I'll be waking up anyway but I think next week I'll stop. I felt like my temp going up with the Clomid gave me a lot of false hope.

Yes, I do O naturally on my own. My doc gave me clomid to hopefully help with egg quality (he says it can but atomic says it doesn't so who knows  ) and to try to help me O sooner so I can hopefully get preg faster. Our hope is to get me knocked up before the 6 month mark due to a study that seems to show better outcomes in pregs conceived w/in 6 months of a loss... whether that is actually the case is debatable but my doc and I agree that with my history anything we have in our favor is a bonus. My temps are a bit wonky in the start of my cycles but post-O they aren't much for adding hope... then again if you exclude my chem preg cycle I only have one recent chart... last cycle's chart. But it really didn't offer any false hope for me. I got a little excited for a couple days but it was so short lived that it wasn't like I was *sure* I was preg or anything...
27040

So far this cycle I am starting to wonder if I got a placebo, lol. I seriously feel pretty normal... not at all like my other cycles with all the cramping and hot flashes and headaches... I got nothing this cycle  Usually by now I am already cramping up a storm so I don't know what to think  Also I only had a full AF for 4 days... the first couple days were pretty heavy but not the 3rd and 4th and just spotting since and that's not normal for me so I am slightly concerned the negatives of clomid are taking effect. Which is another reason I am hoping to get the study this cycle... to make sure my lining is adequate.

A dip just before or the day of O is pretty common, even in non-clomid charts. Your temps are a smidge wacky on clomid so I can understand why you might not want to temp post-O. I wonder what it is about clomid that makes O so much more painful than normal?! I just keep telling myself it's because it's a "strong O" or a multiple O... anything to get myself through it without screaming, but I do wonder why it actually is so different.

Forced BD's make babies all the time in the TTC world. By the time I conceived #2 & 3 we had been TTC so long that EVERY BD felt forced. We didn't DTD at that point... it was strictly BD'ing (hoping you catch the difference). And think about first timer's who get preg... we ALL know that for the most part first times SUCK, lol. Not much heat is required in the TTC kitchen as long as all the ingredients are added to the "dish" ;) :fx: for you!!

It's funny that I've made a real effort not to obsess this cycle, read into my temps, focus on my body etc yet last night I dreamed I got a bfp on an frer at 8dpo lol guess my subconscious has taken over the obsessing :)

Yay thanks girls, it's funny the silly things you think when it's go time... Thinking OMG what if by the time we do it tonight it's already too late or what if it's a fake and just a random fertile patch and I'm not going to O soon lol I guess at least the E4D gives me some peace of mind and that I will be covered in any situation...
Last cycle O was day after I noted EWCM. I have only noted quite small amounts in previous cycles too.
Oh well guess will see if the temp shifts in the next few days!

Hi ladies, hope I can jump in here! Bit late to the party but we only decided yesterday that we were definitely going to go for it this month!!! :)

I am CD8 with a cycle of around 32 ish days, they haven't been regulating having DS2. My LP is usually 13 days so I am thinking I might be due to O around CD20-21 which would be Sept 14/15 (also a new moon - which I don't think really sways but both my boys were full moon conceptions so every little helps lol)

We are currently on vacation in Disneyworld, due to fly back to Ireland on Sept 8th. My LE was out the window for the first week but I have reined myself in a little bit since Monday. I am so excited at the prospect of trying for a Baby and have serious bump envy that right now I don't particularly mind whether we have a boy or a girl - though maybe that's me trying to come to terms with the possibility of getting an opposite. Who knows!!

I have been on LE since May 1st, had two blips of about 10 days each before our vacation however in hindsight neither of those episodes were really cheats. I have not been properly off diet since starting except for last week so am feeling decent about that. I had started exercising for about 3-4 weeks before coming here. Went from 140lbs down to 122 just before we flew out. I think I might have gained a few lbs though I feel very bloated in the heat too. I was contemplating exercising again when we go back home next week - any thoughts on whether that's a good idea or not? We have walked miles almost every day of the trip and the heat has had me work up more than the average sweating with the walking so I'm wondering would that count towards cardio? I wreaking my Finer and Folic religiously at home but am quite hit and miss now on vacation. DH has been patchy with his cranberry too, I want to pick him up LR. Is it too late to start him on it now?

Sorry for the long post and million questions! We were thinking maybe we would be better off waiting til October but then we realised we keep finding reasons to push the sway back and I can't really afford to lose any more weight without risking O so we are just going to go for it and hope we get our (my!!) girl!

Hope to see lots of + tests here ladies xxx

Hi and welcome hopper, sounds like you are having an awesome holiday!
I believe LR is recommended to take from AF-O as DH needs a break but unsure if CD6 would be too late to start or not, given you won't O till around CD 20 I would think maybe it would be ok to start now for 2wks? Hopefully someone else can chime in here for you.
Good luck x

Uh oh, maybe I am being too lax about this sway! DH isn't too keen to take any more supplements so maybe I am best off leaving him with the cranberry and hoping for the best!! I need to pick up more cranberry and chitosan, though I have no idea where to get that here lol.

Not at all, I think what you have been doing sounds great lol but if DH isn't keen maybe LR isn't the way to go - it's one of the more risky ones to take and depends on health and age etc

My DH is taking LR AF-O and OLE every day but that's about it. :)

Welcome Hopper!!! Is your DH under 35 years old? Licorice root is only recommended for DHs that are under 35 and don't have any blood pressure issues. I think most of our DHs are taking olive leaf extract now as it's the one supplement that seems to improve sperm health while swaying girl. I don't think many are taking cranberry any more.

Fixed it, the auto update was off. Looking at the temps it does look like I O'd day 31 but I felt like it was day 32. I wasn't even planning on temping but was getting frustrated with the long cycle and stupid spotting.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, had to get my little guy off to school.

Hmm, I can see how either day could be right... Do you normally dry up immediately after O or does it generally take a day or two? Temps wise, a sudden leveling off like you had followed by a spike usually indicates O day... BUT if you go by the rule of 6 (determining the CL using the last 6 temps) then CD 32 seems more accurate. Even if we use the rule of thumb (the charting version of eliminating outlying temps that could skew the CL determination in an inaccurately high fashion) to eliminate CD 26's temp your CL would still be too high for CD 32's temp to be high enough above the CL to indicate O. whereas CD 33's temp (indicating O on CD 32) would be. All that considered, if it were my chart I'd likely override it to O on CD 32 with a CL of around 36.3 (0.1 degrees above your CD 27 temp) as that just seems to make more sense, all things considered. HTH.

Thank you :) Yeah DH is 34 so maybe he's borderline? DH only started the cranberry in July, I did ask Atomic first if she recommended he take OLE or cranberry and she opted for cran so we went with that. I do see OLE mentioned a lot more these days though. I suppose both do the same thing really though :)

Thanks for the welcome girls. And can I just say wow this thread moves fast lol! Loads of babydust this month for us all please! I'm kindbof half afraid to hope we get pregnant this month cause our boys were one hit wonders so I do wonder if we get pregnant this month will we definitely have another boy. We DTD every day or every other day when trying for our boys so maybe less frequency helps. Anyone else doing e4d? What are you all doing with regard to your partner releasing in between attempts? Should I have him abstain between attempts or should he release every day?

We worked hard for our boys and our DD was a one hit wonder in every way (1 month with 1 attempt) so I don't think the length of time TTC means much.

We are doing E4D +1 @+OPK this cycle. It will be our first cycle with the extra attempt.

DH abstains between BD's. I am on clomid and you (general you) don't want to harm sperm count on clomid because clomid comes with a clock and it already can make CM less hostile so you don't want to do anything that would make it harder to concieve. I am not 100% on what to recommend for you but I do know that daily release is generally discouraged because it's difficult to keep up with... hopefully someone else will know what to advise.

So, I have been doing a lot of reading.. kinda looking into atomic's assertion that conception w/in 3 months on clomid is the goal. After everything I have read and with my unusually short AF making me nervous that clomid might be affecting my lining despite taking the baby asprin, I am thinking if we don't conceive this cycle that it may be time to look into other options such as femara (although I hate the low odds of twins.. not trying for them but would love to have them and that is one aspect I loved about clomid :D ). So, I just got off the phone with my OB's office and I scheduled an appt to talk to him about plans for next cycle if we don't conceive this month. My appt is on the 18th. BUT :fingers: that it will be a moot point because I'll be knocked up (if I O CD 15 like last cycle, I'll be 8 DPO by then) :giggle:

Two: I've really felt like that too with my Clomid. I'm so worried it's ruining my lining, because I'm also starting to wonder if I had a CP last cycle too. My AF this cycle was better than the cycle before so that was reassuring, but I'm just back and forth on whether I had false positives or really faint CP? Hard to tell I guess. Did you also hear they'll only allow you to be on Clomid 6 rounds your whole life?? That also worries me.

I just know, after reading up on it, that even the manufacturer only recommends being on it for 3 months. The general consensus is that is you don't conceive in 3 months you are unlikely to do so in later cycles (not impossible, just much lower odds).

With my CP I had undeniable, overpowering preg symptoms. Otherwise with as light as the tests were I would have assumed false positives or that I was seeing things. Plus my AF was delayed. Don't know if that helps you any but that's how it was for me.

So.... my ship came in a bit earlier than expected :D Follicle study scheduled for Tuesday!! I think I am more anxious to know my lining is okay than I am to know about the follicle(s) (although I definitely want to know about those too!)!!! I'm praying soooo hard right now for a good, implantable lining and at least one big, healthy egg. More than one is even better since it means better odds of catching at least one egg.

Also, a little pre-study prediction... ovary pains have arrived. Not bad, but definitely there and exclusively on my left side so far. So, so far I am guessing it's going to be another lefty month, but I'll find out for sure on Tuesday.

honestly with being on vacation I have to say I am feeling a little guilty at being so off my diet! I am hoping the months of dedication since May 1st to August 23rd aren't ruined by two weeks of mayhem! I have eaten breakfast twice and had red meat FOUR TIMES!!! Haven't had it that much since I started LE. Went searching for LR today but DH really isn't keen so not going to push the issue. We will stick with what we have going on for now I think. DH seems to think we will get lucky first time since our boys were first time. I tried explaining the idea that swaying decreases my fertility and I am 3 years older at 33 than I was when I last got pregnant so I'm sure that has an impact too but he is adamant about his super swimmers - which is why I tell him I would like him to take both supps but he says his only compromise will be the Cranberry!
DH is kind of put off the idea of trying this month. He says he will go with what I want at the end of the day but to remember that we conceived our first DS immediately following a vacation to Disney and conceived our second son while on vacation at Disney so he thinks another child conceived on or shortly after a Disney trip is automatically going to be a boy! To be honest I think I just want another child now more than I want a daughter - I am sure that NEED for a daughter is still there underneath the surface but am kind of glad it's not as overwhelming as it was a couple of months ago!
In either case excited to try and I can't wait to be pregnant again!!

I'm so sorry, mommamia. Thinking of you - take care of yourself. ❤️

That's great news, Two! I can't wait to hear what the docs say, and I hope your lining is good! Also, I am pretty convinced after this month I may look at other options or at least make my OB give me a time line. I don't want to go more than 4 for sure - id rather get in with a specialist then.

But I woke up this morning and had a bloody nose! Wth?! I've only had one other bloody nose in my adult life. I hope this is a good sign!

I'm only 3dpo (or 4dpo according to FF) and I'm already getting impatient! If it happens this month then we would be able to find out the gender before Christmas. Not that I should get so far ahead of myself! I keep telling myself I'm not testing until at least 12 dpo... let's see if that actually happens!

Do you think it could be because of a progesterone surge? The only other time I've gotten a bloody nose was the day of AF my first round on Clomid, last month nothing at all.

Not really sure, I know I get them when I overheat, but I also get them quite often (although not as much as I used to). If I was to get one I wouldn't read much into it but it could mean something for you as it is more unusual. That is the problem with the TWW, too much thinking and analysing of everything! Still I prefer it to the wait for ovulation as at least I know when it will end.

Twointow what do you make of my chart? I've heard of subtle temp shifts at o but?? They never seemed to drop after last cycle lol

Oh, wow... this is new lol, your chart/temps are usually full of flat lines... They are all over the place this cycle! When did you get your smiley again?? Is it the CD 11 where it says "P"? I don't see a biphasic shift... not even a slow rise shift because your temps havent really gone high enough to exceed any CL possible given your temps. Even if we ignore CD 9's open circle temp and for s&gs we can even ignore CD 5's temp (and look at your chart with the idea that O happened where your temps began to rise on CD 11) your CL would be around just above 36.7. You don't have ANY temps above that and today's temp took a small dip. So, all things considered I would recommend acting like you never got your smiley, and haven't O'd and continue to watch for O as it appears your O has been delayed. It happens. Any number of things can delay O and it's nothing to be concerned about but your best bet is to assume O has been delayed until or unless your chart shows proof to the contrary. It sucks, I know, but to do otherwise means potentially missing your window.

As far as not dropping since last cycle... weirdly enough it happens sometimes like that. Given pregnancy has been ruled out all that is left to do is look at this chart as if last cycle, or any other, never happened. With higher pre-o temps, your post-o temps will likely be higher than your post-O norms. So, all your expectations/norms based on previous cycles are irrelevant to this cycle.

Hope that answers your questions... if you have any others feel free to ask. :)

Looks like a pretty typical surge to me. That's why charting is helpful. An LH surge doesn't always lead to an O :( I think a BD tomorrow is a very good idea as it would be BD day if doing E4D anyway and it'll cover you in case you missed a second surge while not testing!

It is your call but I'd recommend BDing tomorrow in case you missed a second surge while not testing(like if you are surging today and O day after tomorrow... your last BD would be near useless)... but that *could* mean less than ideal timing if you surge in the next couple days. I'd take less than ideal timing over a missed window though... but in the end it is your call. :fingers:

My temp has spiked today after a drop yesterday. FF hasn't changed my O date to what I think it should be yet, I'm not sure if it will.

**post edited as info changed. Checked cm and its thick like glue just like it was post o for days last cycle - even if I dtd for just in case there's no way swimmers would get through it. I'm thinking my temps never drop until af is over yet I had four days of spotting after af this cycle which could account for the high pre o temps. There was a decent dip cd10 prior to pos opk cd11 so even though it doesn't reflect I've oed yet maybe I have as my cm seems to fit in with this as well. Anyway will see what next few days bring.

twointow83
September 4th, 2015, 09:17 PM
So change of plan lol. No more opk testing, going to dtd today cd14, I've never oed later than cd15 (never had a false surge b4 either lol) that way if I o today and this mornings temp was a pre o dip I have one decent attempt (although nervous day of o sways blue) as I don't believe Wednesday would count by now anyway and if I o tomorrow I'll have a day b4 o attempt.... sorry to keep going on it helps to think it out loud as such :)

So after posting this I decided to check cervix and cm. Its high but cm is so thick just like it was for days after o last cycle there's no way swimmers would get through its like glue from a glue stick! so canning the bd for now and will check cm again today and tomorrow. After a most carefree attitude this cycle leading up to o it has now turned into 'for f's sake' I'm so fed up with my body changing every damn cycle. I won't post again about it I promise I'm just sick with frustration at the thought of another cycle going bust and not even having a chance :(:(

You aren't bothering us posting lol... that's the whole point of this thread :D Try not to stress out! CD 15 is early O in my book and there is always a first time for everything so you aren't out this cycle... the egg is just taking a pre-o vaca practicing to drive you nuts when s/he is older lol ;)

So, yet again I am going out of town the weekend before my study... this is becoming a pattern, lol. It's been a possibility for a couple days now but we didn't know for sure until DH found out tonight that he doesn't have to work tomorrow. Not sure what to do charting and testing wise. Last time I figured it'd be awhile b4 O so I didn't really worry much about it. This cycle, knowing I O'd RIGHT after I got back I just don't know... and my left side keeps making sure to remind me with a quick jab that it's hard at work :giggle: The right side even had a dog in the fight today! I'm thinking sticking with me original plan of not temping on weekends but since Monday is a holiday that means I'll only have 4 temps CD 1-12 and that would be cutting it close if I O early.. esp considering my temps are just now going back down to my normal pre-o temps. Going to OPK the same way I was going to last time (if I decided to but didn't end up testing).

DH is stressing out because he doesn't know how we are going to BD Sunday like we are supposed to (plus another time if I get a +OPK). We are staying with his family again (different family this time) and we have NO idea if we are going to be in a bedroom or the living room. Last time we stayed with them we slept in the living room with the boys and my MIL, but they have moved since so we really don't know what to expect. I know I ain't going to DTD in the living room! I know we'll figure something out(all else fails we have a van lol) but DH is like manic that aren't going to be able to and then I'll O and we'll miss it. It's kinda interesting to see, lol. Total role reversal, lol. Usually *I* am the one that gets anxious and stressed and he is like "oh, the house blew up? Okay." (exaggerating there but my point is made). Anyway, we leave tomorrow so if I'm not on much this weekend that's why.

Good luck to all those testing and O'ing in the next few days!!

Well just got an attempt in for just in case o delayed until tomorrow, now I'm going to get some opks. Total turnaround from this morning. At least now I feel moderately confident of having a decent attempt :)

Pbn3 I think you made the right decision in attempting tonight! Fingers crossed for you!

Two-- You're so lucky you have a DH who is on board with TTC! If it wasn't for both my boys being oopsies, DH probably would have zero kids at this point in life! Our oldest is 12, and of DH's friends back home, ZERO have kids yet!!!! One friend is expecting baby #1 at the end of the year, but other than that they're all still single or just getting married. I think that has negatively affected DH as he seems like the odd one out with 2 kids who are already so old!

Oh, and if you click on my chart link I went ahead and paid for a VIP FF membership just so I could do a chart overlay of my current cycle and my last BFP cycle. I thought they were looking eerily similar! What do you think?

DH has always been kid oriented. We broke the cardinal rule of not talking about having babies on the FIRST date lol. That's why I was 7 months preg on our wedding day... he couldn't wait lol. He keeps saying he wants a baseball team :suprise: not gonna happen btw :giggle:!

Am I looking at that wrong or are you? It looks like the control side is darker than the test side to me :( Maybe it looks diff in person?!

I think it's because of how you had it oriented :) It's an honest mistake... esp if you don't consistently use the dip strips. Your test today looks a lot like mine from today though lol. Maybe we will O around the same time and get to be testing buddies again!!

I don't think I'll O any sooner than CD 15 as that is the earliest I've EVER O'd... but stranger things have happened lol. So I doubt I can meet you in the middle lol. I loved having you as a testing buddy though! Someone to share my addiction to peeing on things with  Plus testing buddies means we'll be belly buddies if we both catch the egg.

I am kinda grateful that more than likely I won't be O'ing this weekend since we are going out of town, which makes BD complicated. But at the same time, if O is as painful as last cycle it is going to be interesting trying to get through classes w/o pain killers and without making it obvious I am in pain. One of my professors (my adviser... told her because I didn't want to have an extremely heavy schedule this term and had to explain that I was thinking ahead about MS, fatigue, etc.) and one friend know we are TTC but neither know about the clomid and it's not something they need to know but it'll be hard to hide the pain for hours when I was barely able to hide it for minutes at a time last cycle... and I'm not 100% that I actually did manage to hide it I just know that nobody asked "are you okay?" lol which I was thankful for.

I'll try to peek in from time to time this weekend to check up on everyone, so hopefully I'll see if you have any updates! :fx: for you!!
