Thought I'd start a new thread for those of us who will be entering the 2ww in September. Welcome and best of luck to everyone! :bluecheer: :cheer:

I am awaiting the arrival of AF having had a miscarriage 3 weeks ago at 8 weeks. It's been very hard, but I have been trying to focus on the future and have been swaying hard again the last few weeks. Can't believe I am looking forward to the arrival to AF!

Hi foxclubblue I just came in here to start this thread lol :)
I'm so sorry you're here and I hope af finds you really soon to get things kick started again.
This will be month four ttc for me and expect to o around 3rd, 4th, 5th Sept. Currently on cd2. Back on le diet as of yesterday after having a blow out for 12 days eating whatever whenever lol (after a pretty strict 21 weeks). Hoping its what I needed to get my bfp this month :)
Good luck everyone hope September is all our month!!

It is soooo hard sticking to diet etc in 2ww, I never managed prior to getting BFP and doubt I will this time! Started spotting today so hoping this is AF starting, although I am only 8dpo - hoping everything is just a bit wonky from m/c

I am hoping to be in this 2WW - I have no idea what my cycle is up to since my miscarriage (D & C) 2 weeks ago.... Working with my FS doing blood work to keep an eye on my levels. I'm still getting a faint positive on hpt's, so I hope the hcg is nearly all gone out of my system (apparently you will not ovulate if you still have hcg in your system). I'm hoping to catch the first egg!!
Good luck to all of you - I am dying to see some double lines in this group! :) :cheerteam:

I am sorry about those of you with recent losses, hopefully this will be your month xx

I'm hoping to be in the TWW soon, I'm CD24 (having AF on the 1st of the month makes it easy to remember). I'm still waiting to O because my body is stupid and keeps spotting for over a week before I even ovulate! I had bloods done and all the results looked fine but I'm sure something is wrong with me.

Thanks for checking on me. Feeling a bit deflated. DH semen analysis was great no problems, all our blood tests are fine. But I went for my dr appt last Friday at cd8 and I had no follies [emoji17] that's never happened before. I have another appt tomorrow to see if any have miraculously appeared but it's seems this cycle might be a bust. So frustrating sitting around and waiting. So if nothing this month I will go into month 7 of ttc next month.

The dr wants me to stay on clomid as I've only been on 50mg, but they are going to up my dose and have also put me on metforim or however you spell it which is meant to help egg quality.

That's great news about semen at least it's one less thing to worry about :) Hopefully tomorrow you'll have better news regarding follies. Sometimes it's just not fair you solve one problem and another appears :( I'm crossing everything that it all falls into place for you this cycle and you get some great feedback tomorrow

Ahhhhh my ladies! Let's get this party started!
AF came today and she has been horrible! Worst cramps/fatigue etc I've ever had.
Had a shorter more regular cycle this time so I'm hoping that's a good sway sign. This is my last month to sway using supplements. I had hubs drop the licorice but keep the cranberry. I'm still taking Vitex and SP.
Started charting this cycle too. Hoping I can catch that elusive egg this time!

Hi Purple hope everything sorts itself out and you o sooner than later. Try take some comfort that your bloodwork came back fine, how long have you been ttc?

We started trying around Feb this year, I managed to get pregnant the 2nd cycle (1st cycle was almost 60 days, BFP cycle I O'd on CD30 so not really normal cycles). This is my first cycle after my d&c cycle. I was hoping to O earlier then day 30 as I was worried about egg quality being a problem last time.

Blood work done was FSH, LH, Oestrogen and Progesterone so probably not that detailed but they were all in the right ranges.

My update is blood work came back with my hcg down to 59 - so I am getting there...I'm pretty sure it has to be 0 or 1 before I will stop getting faint positives on hpt's and before I can start to gear up for the next ovulation. My progesterone was 0.7 and my E2 is at 187. I will test again next Wed. Fingers crossed I see 0!!!

So happy on the follicles, Magical! That's great news! Sounds like you have something to look forward to with the IUI, but hopefully you won't even need it.

I'm on cd12, and DH just left for a trip until Sunday (cd16). My first round of Clomid at 50mg I O'd on cd17 and second round O was on cd18, so fingers crossed my body stays the same and we can get three good attempts in once he gets back! It's slightly making me crazy lol. Hopefully this 3rd round is a charm!

Hi girls, mind if I join you? I am 6dpo now and freaking out :( this is my 5th month of swaying and 3rd attempt and I just can't take the pressure anymore. Just want to be pregnant so bad!! Last night I dreamt I looked in my panties and saw AF came way too early and that I wasn't pregnant. It was so realistic that I am terrified now it will actually happen to me. I hate swaying so bad right now (sorry AS) but I also want my DD so bad!! I just can't get my self to stop cheating and do excersize right now, anyone else has this problem in the 2WW?

I cheated way more in the tww. It's hard bc progesterone tends to make you hungrier... But compare your old diet to your current one; even in the tww... Is it still way better?

I think after a few months many of us loosen up on our ways, and fall pregnant. If you can't handle the disappointment of AF coming you might want to consider either adding an attempt or improving fertility a little with a little more protien and fat (before the tww).

That being said 3attempts really isn't too bad. How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah I maybe want to do that, just eat more protein and fat the next round. I am 31 years old, I know 3 attempts isn't that bad and many members are swaying much much longer, but I conceived my boys both in 1 month trying, I even 'planned' the last one so I had an extra long maternity leave!! I thought becoming pregnant was very easy and found it very logically it succededjust how I wanted it to. Can't believe how arrogant I was back then!! But so 5 months and 3 attempts just feels very long for me as I am very impatienced.

I totally get you. allll my boys were OSW, first attempts... The diet for sure makes it harder to conceive. The reason I asked you age is I know as you get older docs are more willing to start helping out with fertility issues at 6 months rather than 2 year. Im 39, and despite not having any significant issues I still used it to my advantage to get in sooner... I maybe stretched the truth a little about the length of time we were trying :)

Just signed up with ff and entering details of my last few cycles. In July I had a luteal phase of 12 (we weren't ttc that month but i used an opk just to see) and this months LP is 10. Im unaware if this has been an issue in the past as i have never used opks before. I just assumed it was 14 days like everyone else. Anyone else have this issue and is there a reason for it/can it be improved or fixed? I am 6 months post partum so im not sure if this could be a reason why also

Netti my af this cycle has been quite light compared to normal to. I wouldn't stress on it :) I would start using opks at cd6 or 7 if last cycle was 24 days then you are covered if you o early as in you won't miss the surge. I know its hard to relax but if you can just go with whatever happens it will be easier on you mentally. I've nearly pulled my hair out wondering whats going on with my cycles but this month I'm thinking "whatever" in a way lol. Just going to use opks do one attempt at pos opk and hope for the best. I'm just so sick of analyzing my ever changing cycle that I'm really happy being quite blase and laid back this time :) hoping it'll do the trick :)

Wow that's expensive! I got the same first response 7pk opk plus hpt test last cycle for $14 on special at woolies. Think they are normally around $17? I know they are dearer but I'm using the cb dual digital again this cycle - picked up at chemist warehouse for $40. You get 10 opk test sticks and I have found them fantastic! Seemed to have issues getting a pos opk on dip tests that's why I started using digi.

I have 5 opks left looks like i will need to invest do you know a brand that is reasonably priced or where i can get them. So far ive been using first response and i think the kit is about $27 but thats with 7 opks and 1 hpts

Mum to 4 Boys awaiting her Princess

I had a short Lp too, and that was with Clomid... Then I had a normal month.

Also I went into my 3rd and final month with 6 OPKS lol! I decided not to buy more and just tested at a sane time of the month (instead of peeing on stick after stick on the days they were Tyl silly stark white). Made it less stressful!

Question time again [emoji23]

Just signed up with ff and entering details of my last few cycles. In July I had a luteal phase of 12 (we weren't ttc that month but i used an opk just to see) and this months LP is 10. Im unaware if this has been an issue in the past as i have never used opks before. I just assumed it was 14 days like everyone else. Anyone else have this issue and is there a reason for it/can it be improved or fixed? I am 6 months post partum so im not sure if this could be a reason why also

Thanks ladies

Mum to 4 Boys awaiting her Princess

I wouldn't be too concerned over a LP of 10/12 days, apparently anything from 10-14 is normal but if it's less than 10 days it could be an issue.

I haven't charted a great deal in the past, only prior to my last bub and FF tells me my average LP is 10 days and I have had no problems :)

Hi netti, I'm just butting in to let you know I get my opk's from pregnancyshop.com.au. I get the cheapies and I've had no problem with them. 25 for $12.50 or 50 for $22.50. They deliver really quickly too .

Officially CD 1 so moving over here. Called to schedule my follicle study and I was told this time I'll have to pay up front since my ins doesn't pay for it, so no follicle study this time :( Definitely going to make sure I have the money next cycle if I don't get a BFP this cycle though. Hopefully that won't be an issue but we shall see. Praying for another early O like last cycle. Going to crush my pills again since that seemed to obviously make a difference. DH has been pushing for more attempts (he wants to do EOD like the doc suggests) so we compromised with E4D with an extra attempt at +OPK this cycle. Hoping that is enough because he isn't thrilled about it as is but agreed to do it one more cycle. I think if this cycle is a bust he is going to want to go full-throttle and my sway isn't very strong to begin with... that could completely destroy it.

:fx: for all of us. Hopefully we can get another BFP boom like last month!!

Crush your pills? What do you mean?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Because of some tummy issues I have I have issues absorbing nutrients, meds, etc. So, I talked to the pharmacist after the first cycle didn't seem to have any affect on O and they recommended crushing it to make it a bit easier for my body to absorb. So each day that I take it I crush my pill, put it in some applesauce and take it that way. Cycle 1 and cycle 2 were night and day so obviously it worked better crushed for me than whole. So I am going to continue to crush them. No point in taking them if I am not absorbing enough of it to make a difference, kwim?

Yes, it sways pink but it's not necessary for a pink sway. You can do one w/o clomid. Clomid just replaces a few other sway elements, like rephresh, vitex, SP and such. I take it to O sooner and hopefully improve egg quality (doc says it could, atomic says it doesn't  ) Swaying is just a bonus for me with regard to clomid, though there are some who take it just for swaying.

Well I'm taking SP & V and I've used Rephresh the last two months of attempts but was contemplating on it I would do it again. My pH without it seems to linger at 6/7. Should I use it or no?

That is a question I can't answer for you, unfortunately. I don't have the expertise or wisdom to advise you in that aspect. The only info I can provide is that I happened to check my PH @ O time last cycle ( I don't normally. I was just curious) and it was a 5-6 and atomic said that was fine. So 6-7 , i am guessing, should be good too.

I have a question. How do you check your pH? Do you use your finger or a Q-tip to put the CM on the pH strip, or do you just insert the pH strip? I ask because I have a retroverted uterus and my cervix is higher than my middle finger.

Thanks!!

I just used my finger to swipe out what I could and wiped it on the paper. If you can't reach your cervix whatever you can get will work. BUT don't freak out over PH as it doesn't sway. If your CM is too acidic or not acidic enough that could potentially be a problem but for the most part it's not something to stress over. I just checked because I was curious and had leftover papers from my short time over on ingender.

Feel better soon :( I forget what CD you are but hopefully the witch is packing up to head out of town for you! :fx: for you this cycle!

Mine actually seems a bit better so far this month (only on day 1 though). Still very heavy, but pain is tolerable with some aleve, which takes the edge off. If it were like the last couple months I'd be on heavier pain killers already so I am counting it as progress. Even if I can't say the same tomorrow, it is still progress because the first 3 days are usually the worst part and with day 1 down I only have 2 more left before it starts improving.

Hi Gals, just wondering if anyone might know.... I am about 17 days past a D & C and last night figured it wouldn't hurt to have a BD 'for fun' (fancy that!) knowing that I should be fine as I was still getting a faint faint line on a hpt... But then today I have had a tonne of ewcm and O pains (I always get those around ovulation time) and I looked at my FF chart (which I have only been doing for the last 3 days) and it has possible ovulation for the next 3 days - so it made me google 'can you get pregnant with low levels of HCg in your system' - and to my shock, a lot of people were saying Yes!
Does anyone know much about this? ie - been through a miscarriage and know when they next ovulated etc?

I also tested on an OPK and it wasn't positive, but there was a darker line there than on the hpt..... interesting.....

Hi immi!

I am pretty sure I ovulated just 14 days after the start of my m/c - have a look at my chart below. Temp rise, lots of ewcm and ovulation pains. My hpts were still slightly positive. The only slightly confusing thing as you will see if that I had a run of positive opks. And then a v short luteal phase if I did ovulate. But I think it can happen!!! FX for you!

Still just the one attempt at pos opk boysboys, even though I've been lucky (but not lucky conceiving) and had past 2 of 3 cycles attempts at day b4 o going to keep with one attempt. Only thing I've got going for my sway is diet and one attempt so gonna stick to it for this ttc cycle 4 then maybe add attempts next cycle :) which hopefully wont be needed. I just get abit deflated sometimes as it took me 4&6 months ttc ds1 & 2 with 2-3 attempts sometimes 4 attempts during fertile window! Even though I know its better to have smep I cant help but remember I had an am attempt the day of o on the cycle I conceived ds2 so I'm almost half tempted to dtd the day after I get solid smiley. But then maybe that would sway blue so I just don't know lol!!

Hi ladies, well it looks like I am joining you again. I started bleeding on Wednesday at 5 weeks and the pregnancy is no longer viable. I'm not even sure I should be here, as I think I'm done swaying and I'm wondering if it contributed to our loss. But everyone here is so supportive during the 2ww so I thought I could still join you and ask you to share your pink dust either way. It will probably be another 15-20 days or so until I ovulate, assuming my cycle will be fairly normal.

Best of luck to all of you this month!

I do once a day, usually in the afternoon/evening, until I see my surge starting. Then I test twice a day (late morning & afternoon/evening) until the surge has passed so I can see, as close as possible, when the peak was. They say most ppl surge in the afternoon (after 2)... I don't know about that because I have gotten plenty of +OPKs in the AM. Just last cycle I had an AM follicle study u/s, came home and tested and it was +! But I have noticed my peaks tend to be evening. HTH.

Hope you didn't do too much damage to your toe Netti!

Quinn I'm not sure about mid cycle spotting/bleeding sorry although for awhile after af returned post ds2 I'd have af for like 6 days, would go away for a couple days then I'd get more spotting for a few days etc went on like that for months!

Its cd6 for me and started opk testing this morning. I'm keeping the test sticks this cycle to look at because I'm bored sh*tless waiting and waiting lol. This mornings first one was a decent line quite surprised! Not sure which hormone its indicating though lol! Wonder if I'm going to o early this cycle that'd be nice :)

I like to keep mine too so I can see the progression and so I can look back and remember when I started to surge, when I peaked, etc. :fingers: for an early O for you!

I can only speak from my experience. With my first loss (delivered, not D&C) whether I O'd or not before AF is uncertain 1: because my temps weren't clear (potentially CD 21?) and 2: I just kept bleeding. I did not test out the HCG with him.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i300/poetry_princess1983/Charts/09_5_2.png

With my DD loss and D&C I DID test it out...
Undated HPT was taken 5-26 on CD 24.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i300/poetry_princess1983/kendall/20150604_004605.jpg

OPK's. Last test was CD 29 and almost white, just a light line and my surge for O began the very next day.

Hope all that answers your questions.

Nope. Sure can't. No sway? no stay! :giggle: I am TOTALLY pulling your chain btw (did you smile? At least a little??)! You better stay! I'll come hunt you down and bring you back if you don't ;)

So, sorry for your loss. :hug2: Just a heads up. O may be a bit later this cycle due to your loss and that would be totally normal. More :hug2::hug2::hug2:

Hugs, Yaybaby!!! I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know exactly where you're at mentally. I've already decided that if I miscarry, I'm not swaying again either. Having a miscarriage isn't worth it to me. I'm thinking of you. :bighug:

Thank you momamia. I never realized just how awful this would feel. I'm so scared to try again this month because of my fear of it happening again. And so true about not swaying, its just not worth it to me either. Thank you again.

So what is the plan for you at this point? How is your hcg looking? Sorry I haven't had a chance to go back through this thread and I've stepped away from the due date thread.

Haha, yes I did smile! Thanks two. And good to know, a friend who has had 3 losses did warn me that it could be a little late. So I'll prepare myself for some extra waiting this month. Which is ok with me as I'm not in a huge hurry to start trying again.

No problem! :) My hcg is still low but continuing to rise. Just really, really slowly. It's seriously freaking me out that it's ectopic. I go tomorrow for another blood draw. I am hoping that it will either increase a lot (to signify a regular pregnancy) or that it will drop (to signify miscarriage). With my luck, it'll probably rise just enough to be ambiguous like it has done the whole time. I really just want it to get up to 2000 so I can get an ultrasound, or drop so I can move on and not be so paranoid. DH is keeping his hopes up that all is fine but I'm not convinced. I've been having pressure on my left lower abdomen for 3 days now. I'm hoping it's just my uterus expanding but I honestly don't remember this feeling with any of my previous pregnancies. Although, I was never paranoid about a tubal pregnancy with any of them either. So, I don't know how much of it is in my head. You know? The worst part is that I keep googling things and nothing is reassuring except that I do have pregnancy symptoms and those aren't always common with ectopic pregnancies. I'm trying to wait it out to see what happens but it's getting really difficult. I kept waking up in a panic last night that my tube was rupturing (it wasn't). So I don't know how much longer I can continue on without seeing something. I don't understand why they haven't even tried to do an ultrasound to see if they can find anything. That's the first thing I'd want to do, but then I'm not a doctor. I guess I'll know more tomorrow but it doesn't feel like anything is going to be different after the bloodwork. I'm just tired of worrying.

I think there is a little bit of all levels of swaying on here. From hardcore sways to no sway and everything in between. Personally, my sway is pretty weak. My diet can barely be considered a diet.. esp the last week or two... lots of red meat the last couple weeks. Couch potato. Clomid & zantac. No vits other than folic acid.... that is pretty much all I have going for my sway.

I wish I had clomid!!! But I would be only using it for swaying and hopefully twinning :) My sway is now non existent. Last cycle at least I had the "first cycle after a mc" going for me! Literally all I have this cycle is breastfeeding my toddler still. However, that is completely my choice after all :) I just don't want to sway anymore, I just want a healthy baby. We will most likely have a 7th, we could always sway for the next one!

Oh man, the waiting and being in limbo is the worst. You already wait enough during TTC and then there is just more and more after you get your BFP, especially if things aren't going perfectly. I really don't understand why they haven't just done a scan at this point. Hopefully Saturday's numbers will give you some answers either way. FX for you momamia!!!!

And two, I'm with you. Since getting my BFP, I have completely reverted back to my old boy-friendly ways, eating healthy stuff, snacking all day, taking prenatals, eating breakfast. So even if my loss sways girl, my diet is not doing me any favors. And I'm not sure I'll stick to one attempt, I really really really want a sibling for DS ASAP. And that desire is stronger for me than the desire for a girl. But we'll see how I feel closer to O time.

Oh if I'm pregnant I can almost promise you this is a boy!lol I dropped everything and just wanted a baby as well! It had only been two months too!lol I'm pitiful. Our attempts are exactly how we got DS2! I'm totally ok with it though. I kind of like the idea of boys. We make some sweet (adorable) boys, if I say so myself ;)

Momamia, I am so sorry you are going through this. You can't even enjoy you pregnancy and that is so sad!! I so wish they would do a scan just to ease you mind. :(

Right there with you... which is probably why I am not swaying as hard as I was at first. I've lost 2 pregs while doing everything right and I'd be lying if I didn't say the whole "no vits" "reduced fertility" thing makes me a bit nervous. At this point I just want to be preg with a healthy sticky bean. The only reason I am doing anything to sway is I would prefer not to have to live with the knowledge that I lost the only girl we ever had, when I know DH wants a girl... prob more than me lol. But even he is getting to the point of "let's quit fooling around and just do this already!" Lol. And all he has to do is get laid and take a few pills... when he actually remembers that is. Neither of us want a long TTC like we have had in the past, but even moreso neither of us want to endure another loss. It's a fine line... a very fine line. If we had another loss then swaying would be over, completely and forever, and we would be doing everything in our power to increase our odds of a healthy, sticky preg no matter how it sways.

Sway-related question- I know obsessing about your cycle and such is supposed to sway boy, but what if it isn't exactly obsessing so much as hunting and not so much about your cycle as baby gear? In plain English (lol), I have been spending a lot of my free time online looking up memes and stuff (just funny stuff, cute stuff, etc. I'll share some at the end of this post) just to pass the time. Mostly though I am googling for baby gear in my spare time. The theme we chose (Bambi) isn't exactly everywhere and can be hard to find... and if you do manage to find it it's usually pricey. BUT I have managed to find some cute stuff in my hunting but I wonder if it counts as obsessing in sway-terms!?

Thanks to my hunting we have several things we will need (long way to go still though) or have a bookmark on things we can't afford just yet, or is gender specific. I REALLY had to hunt most of it down though. What do you all think? I am just so friggen bored when I have nothing to do and that is a productive use of my time

On another note, I think I might finally be almost healed up from my D&C. I have a few strong pains here and there but mostly I am back to normal! Yay! Seriously considering dropping the baby asprin though. I think it is thickening my lining TOO much, because it's still extremely heavy. Just my luck though, if I did then my lining wouldn't be thick enough due to clomid :giggle: *sigh* Whats a girl to do!?

Now for some funnies :) Most are TTC related but not all.

hmmm. I don't *think* that you have O'd yet Mammacass, just because of that really low temp today (today? It is still the 28th for me lol). But I am by no means an expert! Hoping you know what is going on soon.

Is anyone else avoiding birthdays? Or hoping to avoid birthdays? It would be so great if I conceived this month so that I could avoid mid June. DS1 is June 15th and DS3 is June 7th. It is great for combining family parties, it just gets sooo busy.

I don't think you have O'd yet because the temp on CD15 has an open circle so it might not be accurate. Do the cross hairs disappear if you take CD15 out?

I thought I was going to ovulate because I got EWCM and O pain but it wasn't as much pain as normal and now I have started spotting again. I know I should go back to the Dr but I don't want to go and then not have her give me a referral again.

Mine both have birthdays in September 4 days apart so I was hoping to avoid September. My nephew is also the day after DS1. I tried to avoid September last time when TTC DS2 but after a year I wasn't worried about birthdays being close.

It's probably stupid but I'm really sad about not having my January due date anymore because it was such a perfect time and I wanted to be big and pregnant at christmas and experience pregnancy at a different time of year.

I'm not really stressing about it just curious :) we are doing E4D anyways so doesn't matter too much. Haven't been using OPKs so far as I tried for the very first time last month and never saw a positive due to Oing late and just not confident with them. If I O around my normal time and conceive I'd be due around June 11th which means I'd deliver around the first week of June. And, of course, there is everything in between. June 4th is my youngest's b-day. June 8th is our wedding anniversary. So basically the baby would be born just before, in between, just after or ON one of those days. As long as I O on or before CD 24 I think both dates are safe as far as not sharing the day though, since DS's b-day is on a Sat and our anniversary is too close to June 11th and my OB would never let me go that long and risk me going into labor.

So sorry yaybaby.

Fx momamia hopefully you can get a scan done soon

Pbn- ugghh hate weird cycles 😂😂

Boysboys/two- since i O ive been a slacker. I don't deal with waiting all too well and found myself snacking. But hoping to get back on the walking on my days off with the boys weathers back to nice and sunny. Those are some funny memes

Mammacass- not too familiar with charts. Were you using opks?

Mommymachine/purple- i am hoping to avoid july and august. My two eldest are a week apart (31st and the 7th) plus my mum and dad are also in August. Was really hoping for a May baby near dh's bday but it would be 1.6.16 if this is the lucky cycle so still could be May though i tend to overcook 😂😂

Best of luck to all those waiting to O or painfully in the tww 😂

Mine both have birthdays in September 4 days apart so I was hoping to avoid September. My nephew is also the day after DS1. I tried to avoid September last time when TTC DS2 but after a year I wasn't worried about birthdays being close.

It's probably stupid but I'm really sad about not having my January due date anymore because it was such a perfect time and I wanted to be big and pregnant at christmas and experience pregnancy at a different time of year.

I know what you mean. I had a spring baby(in the middle of a heat wave) and a fall baby (in the middle of a heat wave). My DD was due in early Dec and we were planning to have her on my Dad's b-day (per his request) and I was so excited to think we'd be holding our brand new baby at Christmas. The idea of icy pavement and being ginormous kinda scared me a little but I am a bit of a recluse towards the end anyway because I am so uncomfortable, so I wasn't too worried about it. Alas, here we are looking at potentially another spring baby... maybe even a summer baby, which with my record will no doubt be born mid-heat wave :giggle:

Ditto. My due date was March 1st and it was so amazing. My late FIL bday was March 1st so it was really sentimental, plus my babies always come early so I was hoping for a birthday buddy for myself (Feb 20th). Oh well. It is what it is. A mid/late May baby would be really nice as well.

My dream is a December little girl (I have a December little boy). I love newborns at Christmas. My DD2 was born November 5th and she was still new - ish (7 weeks) at Christmas. DS2 came December 28th.

I know how you ladies feel! I've always wanted an April baby and I missed it this year and my dh won't try for over a year again. Now we might be looking at another summer baby (dds were born in June and July) but after the trouble with conceiving last time, I can't really be picky. I would actually hope to get pregnant quick even if it means similar due dates.

I would love a winter baby but don't want to be trying that long. The HE diet is rough for me! I'm such a LE girl. Plus each month we try gets more stressful as I'm sure you ladies know.

Yes, I did go into the ER because I started having horrible cramping. They got me right in (which was a miracle because they had a 6 hour wait!!!). They did blood work and my levels didn't go up much: 513 from 303 on Tuesday. They did 2 ultrasounds and found the gestational sac in my uterus but it is abnormally shaped and empty. I am going in for a d&c on Tuesday. I don't see the need to continue with the pregnancy when my levels are so low and there is no fetal pole. They didn't feel it was likely that I'd have another sac in one of my tubes. I also discovered that I have a giant cyst on my left ovary that I'll need to have drained because it is so big that it poses a risk for my ovary to twist from the weight (it's 4.3cm).

I'm really just glad to be able to move forward and not have to worry anymore. Because of my history of miscarriage, they are going to do genetic testing on the tissue to see if they can figure out a cause for the abnormal pregnancy. Right now I'm waiting to hear back from my RE's office. I had to call and update them. I'm not sure if I'm going to have to go in there today or what. Thank you everyone for the positive thoughts. It was a rough night.

My friend got horrible news that baby was lost forget what reason but it didn't sit right with her and she had to fight for us after d&c was scheduled. Turns out babe was growing strong. Scary to know how many moms that could happen to as they don't normally recheck at d&cs.

With the history of this pregnancy, I don't see anything drastically changing. My levels are continuing to slow down. It's only a matter of time before they start going the other way. This last set had my doubling time at 112 hours. That's nowhere near normal.

Praying for a sticky bean!

Everyone reacts differently but this is my advice/experience.

They day of my D&C I kinda felt raw inside and had a backache. Heat helped some. Honestly, though it wasn't too bad day one because I took it pretty easy that day. After that I went back to normal activity which was a big mistake. I didn't take my pain killers like I was supposed to because they knocked me out and I had kids to take care of and I didn't rest like I was supposed to because I had kids and a house to take care of. After about 2 weeks of the pain getting ever increasingly worse I called the doc and I had to go in and get "yelled at" for not taking it easy, lol. I was told I wasn't allowed to do ANYTHING for 2 weeks. No dishes, no laundry... he even said to get someone to come help with the kids (that part didn't happen, but I did get more stationary in my parenting for a couple weeks). He said I was overdoing it and had never allowed my body time to heal and that was why I was in so much pain. So, for the next 2 weeks I did was I was told and leaned on DH to help with the house work and watched and took care of the kids from a recliner and started taking a pain killer that didn't knock me out. That helped a lot. Almost immediately I started to feel better. So my advice to you is for the first couple weeks post op consider yourself on bed rest. You'll be back to norm much faster that way. Have a heating pad on hand. I used mine more for my back than anything but it did help. Take you pain killers as prescribed. My biggest mistake was going into my D&C thinking of it as less than an actual surgery and therefore I didn't give my body the aftercare, or healing time, I would have with any other surgery. 2 of my good friends have had D&Cs (one before me and one after me) and they both said they felt the same way I did after. Luckily the one after me had asked my advice and took it so she healed pretty quick. The one before me I had never asked advice from because, like I said, I thought of it as more of a procedure than a surgery so I didn't think it warranted asking advise.

Sex was something I really expected not to be affected by my D&C but I was very sensitive... almost felt swollen down there for a few weeks after so keep this in mind and make sure DH knows to start off slow and take his cues from you as to whether you can handle more or if he needs to stop. Make sure you ask your doc how long you need to prevent conception as well. Mine told me I had to wait until after my first PPAF before TTC again.

Your first PPAF will likely hurt like heck, so brace yourself. I read online that a lot of people have this happen and it was certainly the case for me. My first PPAF I had to put myself BACK on "bed rest" because it hurt as bad as it did when I went to the doc after my D&C. Allowing myself to rest helped.

For the most part, if you listen to what your body is trying to tell you instead of ignoring it like I did I think you'll be fine.

Emotionally speaking I felt both better and worse after. I felt better because the preg limbo was over and felt worse because my preg was officially over. It's kinda hard to describe. I hated the limbo. Hated it. It really screwed with my head. After the D&C was over and I woke up I remember, still in an anesthesia haze, I asked if I could see my baby and the nurse said there wasn't much to see. At that moment I realized my baby was officially gone I bawled my eyes out... HARD. But in a big way that was a good thing. I had done my share of crying before the D&C but this time was different. I was actually grieving my loss for the first time, because before then it was all abstract because technically I was still preg. It was kinda cleansing to let it all go finally with nothing in the back of my mind telling me that maybe there was still hope. Maybe the u/s was wrong. Maybe this, maybe that. There were no maybes anymore. So I was finally able to truly grieve... if that makes sense.

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask. I don't mind answering them. Hopefully the "book" I just wrote will be helpful for you ;)

Again, so sorry that it played out like this. :hug2:

 Convo with DS #2:

Saw a quilt online we like, but it's just for a boy. I said something to that effect and DS says:
DS: But we need a baby girl!
Mom: Would you be mad if we had a baby brother instead of a baby sister?
DS: Yeah.
Mom: Why?
DS: 'Cause baby brother will keep everything to himself!
Mom: What about a baby sister?
DS: She will be my friend!
Mom: So a baby brother won't be your friend?
DS: Big bubby is my friend.
Mom: So what will you do if we have a baby bubby?
DS: I will kick him in the butt!
Mom: You don't want to do that! That's not nice! You'll make a baby cry if you kick them in the butt!
DS: But a girl baby won't!
Mom: Yes, a girl baby will cry if you kick her in the butt, too.
Dad interjects: So do you want Mommy to have a baby?
DS: Yeah!!
Dad: Do you want Mommy to have 2 babies.
DS: NO!
Dad: Why?
DS: We just need ONE baby!
Dad: So you don't want mommy to have 2 or 3?
DS: NO! Not 5 or 6 or 7 or any other numbers!
Dad: So you just want 1?
DS: Yeah!
Dad: Why?
DS: 'Cause we just need 1 baby and 2 kids. That's all. Just 1 baby and 2 kids!

So DS#2 say we can only have ONE girl, no boys, and ONLY one!

Then she told me that if I go through my RE, I won't be able to get it done on Tuesday because he'd have to see me first. So, it would probably take at least a week or more to schedule it. That is after my kids are back in school and I really don't want to have to deal with this right when the kids start school. She also said that my hcg will need to be followed by whoever does the d&c and acted like I wouldn't be able to have my RE's office do that if I go to the hospital to have the d&c. Wtf?! Why is she making this so hard on me? I told her that the d&c was never offered or even suggested this whole 2 weeks and that I haven't even seen my RE through all of this. I think I am going to just go to my regular OB and screw my stupid RE. Their office is seriously pissing me off. I've never experienced such horrible bedside manner from a nurse before in my life.

Twointow you may be able to relate to this maybe and not sure about all you other mumma's!! I've found myself researching vbac2s and I don't even know why! My husband will never support this and he's made that clear. After emergency cs with ds1 I wanted to try for vbac for ds2 but allowed myself to be pressured into scheduled c-section (was thrown the whole think of your baby not your ego and it wasn't that anyway) and then I got shifted back due to a failed vbac so you can only imagine the comments I got then.... I actually shed a few tears today knowing that even if I'm lucky enough to get a bfp I'm not going to experience natural child birth and it just doesn't sit right with me. My mum gave birth to 4 kids, my sisters 5 between them why can't I????? I loved my ob for ds2 (went private) but she made it clear if I ever went back for dc3 it would be cs - no negotiation. We live in a relatively small city/large town so its not like I've got many options :(

Yaybaby-- I'm so sorry for your loss. Miscarriages suck big time. Sending you lots of healing vibes.

momamia-- I'm so sorry you are going through this. How many weeks are you? When I started bleeding at 6 weeks I had an u/s and they could see the sac but "no normal fetal pole" was detected. I did read that the fetal pole is not always seen on u/s till 6.5 weeks and that is by transvaginal u/s only. Are you less than 6.5 weeks? Did they do a transvaginal u/s in the ER? I'm still crossing my fingers for a miracle for you. I'm glad you are getting hcg tested and another u/s on Monday. What were your latest hcg numbers? Mine were 6000 at 6.5 weeks when I started bleeding and just over 2000 two days later when my miscarriage was for confirmed for sure.

Back story on me:
I'm jumping over here from the Aug 2ww thread even though I've pretty much been a lurker since my miscarriage in Oct 2014. DH doesn't want any more kids (we have 2 boys ages 12 and 6) and baby #3 was planned by me only (swayed for 7 months) and then ended in a m/c just shy of 7 weeks. I told him I was not going back on the pill so he's been doing pull out and sometimes even using condoms since my m/c. He even went for a vasectomy consultation, but luckily didn't go through with it yet! Both boys were oopsies after living a very boy friendly lifestyle, so I've continued to slightly sway since my m/c even though my chance of getting pregnant at 34 years old with the pull out method is pretty slim. I'm now 2dpo and DH just informed me yesterday that he doesn't think he pulled out fully 4 days ago, which would have been 2 days before O. So here I am in the 2ww hoping with all my might that 1 little sperm found it's way! I've been on the boards since November 2013 and have been swaying in some form or another since February 2014. Fingers crossed!

Oh, and DS2 was conceived during my August 2008 cycle and my last pregnancy was conceived during my August 2014 cycle, so I'm hoping August is the time of year my body likes to get pregnant and that August 2015 is lucky too!

I had a natural miscarriage, not a D&C, but this was my experience:

I had red bleeding through CD7, then spotting till CD10. I started taking opks on CD10 like I normally do since I tend to O on CD15. On CD14 and CD15 I had +opks like I normally do (they were negative from CD10-13) but no temp rise and I think my cheapie hpts were still super super faintly bfp. I then had negative opks from CD16-18 before they again turned positive on CD19-22. I ended up O'ing on CD 21, confirmed with a temp rise, so basically a week later than normal and I know my hpts were finally bfn at that point. My LP that cycle was normal too at 14 days long, but my best friend who had a m/c 3 months before me and a D&C ended up only having a 5 day LP and basically bleed and spotted the entire cycle post D&C.

momamia-- I'm so sorry you are going through this.

I am 6w2d I think. They did do a transvaginal u/s in the ER. My hcg at that point was only 513. It is extremely low. Yours was much higher than mine. Thanks for thinking of me! :)

We live in a relatively small city/large town so its not like I've got many options :(
I can completely relate. It's sad to know I'll never get that experience with a live child (VBAC'd my 20w5d stillborn). And I have had a good cry or two about that but honestly, I have done enough research to know that, while completely possible, the risks grow with each c/s. While risks are still small after 2 c/s, I seem to be the queen of hearing "it's unlikely" only for the "unlikely" thing to happen. So, as sad as it is to know I'll never experience that I have decided to focus on the positives of c/s :) You get to pick babies b-day, to a point anyway. No chance of you going overdue. Minimal, if any, false alarm trips to OB. AND since you just lay there and let the doc do all the work you have plenty of energy to spend doting on baby instead of being wore out from labor. It'll always be sad that we won't get that experience that, but how we look at the c/s could mean the difference between a pleasant memory or a bitter one. :hug2: You could always ask your doc if the curtain could be lowered for a moment when baby is pulled out. I did with my youngest. It's not exactly the same but it was nice to actually see him the moment he came out. :) Going to ask for the same next time!

Welcome! GL and :fingers:

Hi ladies. I'm not in the 2ww yet so I feel bad being here but I have a question you might be able to answer. I want to take my opks twice a day but have a REALLY hard time not consuming liquids. I honestly drink all day and feel miserable when I have to withhold liquids for hours. Is it really bad to test first thing? I know someone said they tested in the morning (Two maybe?) but I've read the hormone is really concentrated first thing so that's why. Does anyone have tips on how to get two rounds of tests in while still being able to drink?

That is something I struggle with too Quinn. I usually try to just have my cup of tea in the morning and then use second morning urine to test for my first opk of the day. That is usually around 10am-12pm. That is my most accurate test. When I test a second time it is around 4-5pm, but I never trust the accuracy as much because of how diluted my urine is. So I am in the same boat.

Glad I'm not the only one! I guess I'll just do my best to not drink a lot in the morning and then test at 10. I wake up sooo thirst though, that's going to be hard! Maybe I'll have a glass of water and some of my coffee. I can save the rest as my reward for being good in the morning.

Honestly, the thread should be labeled something like September TTC, or something like that instead of Sept 2WW. MOST of us go ahead and move over to the next 2WW thread once AF arrives, so there are several of us still waiting to O.

On to your question, I DON'T hold back on liquids.. at ALL for OPKs. I have had no issues still pinpointing O despite it. I am like you and my bladder just won't let me do a hold, and I am quite thirsty most of the time so I just do my thing and test when I test. Now, if I KNOW I just guzzled a bunch all at once I'll wait awhile to test, but for the usual, everyday all day norm I just test when I pee at some point in the evening and don't really think much about how much I've had to drink. As I said, I've never had issues getting a +OPK, so I don't think it matters as much with OPKs as it does with HPTs.

I had to get a steroid shot today :( I have bronchitis. Boooo! So, does anyone know if steroids have any effect on clomid, good or bad? I tried to look it up and all I found out was that apparently men take clomid as an anabolic steroid substitute or something... Weird. So does anyone happen to know?? On the plus side, being sick sways pink. On the neg side, I don't want to end up in the hosp or something so I kinda can't wait till O to nip this in the bud lol.

because clomid blocks estrogen and can raise testosterone, men take it daily instead of just a few days the way women do. this enables men who make too much estrogen and build fat too easily, to stop that process and build muscle instead. :agree:

the steroids you are given when ill do not act like "steroid" steroids and should not (to the best of my knowledge) interfere wiht Clomid.

Yeah I was sick when I conceived DS#2 AND #3... but I took mucinex to feel better and mucinex sways blue... add that to PCOS (boy friendly hormones) and a boy diet and being sick was a moot point lol.

Oh, I guess you can ignore my PM lol. I know you can't always get around to the support threads so I PM'd you in case nobody on here knew :) I also have a script for a z-pack but I don't know if I am going to take it. I hate antibiotics. They give me a narky yeast infection every stinking time. Gonna give it a couple days and see if the steroid is enough to help my body fight it off and maybe avoid the antibiotic. I have read that those don't sway either way, so I'm not worried about that. Thanks for responding Atomic! :HH:

Praying for a sticky [emoji166] bean!

Quick question ladies I had a lighter and four day af this cycle and continued spotting for another four days and now today my cm is tinged with old blood (normally its 5 days followed by a couple days spotting) just wondering if anyone's experienced similar? I'm also wondering if it will affect my chances of conceiving if I continue to see old blood? I've never had this last to cd9 before so I'm not sure what it means. I got my first flashing smiley this morning so I can only assume I'm gearing up to o in a few days but just wondering what the old blood could mean by still appearing still at cd9?

twointow83
August 31st, 2015, 04:52 AM
I've had spotting and such at CD 9 before but I don't recall if I was TTC any of those cycles so I am not sure. I wouldn't think old blood would affect O or sperm but I honestly don't know. Let me wake up a bit more and get kiddos off to school and if I have time after I get ready and before class I'll see what I can find out.

TBH, I am sweating this cycle for all previously mentioned reasons (DH, May, clock ticking on clomid, etc.). Plus my IB has been acting up a lot since my last 2WW and if it keeps up I'll have to go back on vits or risk becoming deficient. In fact a vit D deficiency can cause symptoms so I am already a bit worried :( But I am hoping once school actually gets up and running (today is just the first day of week 2 so last week not much went on) that it will be a good distraction.

Pbn3

I hope so two and I hope you get your bfp! fx your IB will hold off needing vitamins just that little bit longer!! Based on this are you doing e4d plus additional at pos opk or sticking with one attempt?

DH is pushing for more attempts(even more than we actually plan to do lol) so we agreed to E4D + 1 attempt @ +OPK. Given the clock I feel I am under, esp now that my IB is acting up (generally I have a couple months before deficiencies become an issue but I'm not willing to play with the potential of deficiencies while TTC) I think it might be smart after all to increase our odds/attempts. Hoping that does it though because the only other card I have to play with DH is E3D +1 @ +OPK... IF I am lucky. I think he thinks this is going to be our last cycle holding back on BD'ing

ETA I am also considering switch to Femara (or at least asking about it) to try to lighten my load worrying about time.

twointow83
August 31st, 2015, 07:39 AM
You know what... Atomic suggested awhile back that I do my vits E3D... and I did for a bit. Then I got stubborn and didn't want to blow my sway... I think it may be time to revisit that suggestion. Sure beats worrying about deficiencies.
