Hi all saw mw today who pointed out me that I have to see the consultant at each scan! Boo! I need to rebook everything now! She said I was 26 cm which sounds big to me for dates? I don't do big babies! Anything over 7 lbs and I will panic. Also my bp was super low. All looking a bit too healthy right now x

Charlie your 18 month old sounds like my four year old! He's a bit like a naughty puppy!
I think if I worry about this pg then it will be ok and I will get to term, but if I think it alls going to be ok then I will get I'll. Seems weird to be high risk while I am totally healthy. Either way I want a six pound baby - or more than gas and air this time! Done the hippy birth thing twice - bring on the pain killers this time!

LOL Girls....
My first two sons were both 8lb 1 and then number three was 9lb 5!!!!! but luckily only needed gas and air for all 3! You'll be fine maybe, I'm afraid theres no guarantee its plain sailing just because they are small ;)
Smaillies in bed and DH and DS1 are footie training so running a hot bath and then bed! Im in bed most nights for 8pm.....I feel so much worse in the evenings i can barely function.
We have started to tell people now......i'm expecting lots of 'you must be mad' crap but hey ho I will just smile! The one thing I won't do and that is justify why I am having another baby....as far as I am aware large families are not illegal!....even they you are made to feel they are by the time you are on number 4!!
Sorry rant over!
Hows everyones attempts going??? Indigo, Deaks, Wishing, Littlemiss, and anyone I have missed (sorry!)

Dont worry too much, my measurements always varied by a couple of cm depending on who measured me!
DS1 was 6 pounds 8 oz's and took the longest to deliver, but DS2 was 8 pounds and was out within 7 minutes of pushing! Im sure gravity is better with heavier babies and makes it much easier, for most anyway.

Hi all,
Still lots of sickness on here by the sounds of it, feel so sorry for all you pg ladies as i cant imagine looking after 2 or 3 and feeling like crap!
Had a brilliant 2 days away up north... amazing to see my friend and her kids....made me feel extremely lucky to have 2 healthy little boys. What they have all been through is every parents worse nightmare and its not going to be over for a long while yet. And can you believe she catered for my swaying... what a great friend hey?!
Trying to catch up with all your posts but my parents are totally useless at looking after my boys and keeping my house reasonably clean and tidy so have spent hours running round sorting this tip out! Still got a fair bit to do before i can enjoy my fri eve!
Think im cd 14, so attempt time about next wed :)

I think I read about the sweets on the low everything plan as a good way to get empty calories, will ask on that post tomorrow. Bit scared of going back on ig as the thoughts on this site sometimes contradicts ig's and don't want to feel unconfident in my plan .... But don't want to miss out on possible great info. Typically we are probably away the weekend of ovulation, good in a way but means I may not have full access to the boards for any help, but its at butlins so lots of country walks etc. Especially as a full moon is due that weekend!
I read on this site they also eat licorice/twizzlers

All 3 of my births were unmedicated no gas and air nothing lol x ds1 only because I got to the hospital and was pushing him out then I had done it once I can do it again attitude - i am lucky with pretty quick births though - ds3 a homebirth I knew i was in labour most of the day but established labour was only under 2hours! I kept thinking i had loads of time as my waters hadnt broken WRONG he was born in his waters!!

Wow!! Go and eat something really boy friendly now lol, even though you didnt sway the thought of having to do it soonis enough to make anyone crave boy food :-)
I keep thinking that will happen to me this cycle, although used a condom at the end I do think about the pre-ejaculation theory lol
Whats the pre-ejaculation theory? Very curious because my loss (sadly) was a girl, and I was not swaying, I actually was not even TTC and I def got preggo from Preejaculation. I was also losing weight, and DH was releasing daily!

charliespy ~ ds2 would have been born in his waters, but because he was premature they had to break them to make sure there was no meconium or something like that so the midwife broke my waters just before my last push.. shame since it's considered luck

Congrats kell!!! Fx you got yourself a pink bump!
Inglewood - Lazerquest sounds like a busy day!! :D
babymad - good to hear you had a good scan... although I'm afraid I can't nub guess - I haven't got a clue what I'm looking for!!
Charlie - did anyone answer about the baby position? what is it? Renzi or something like that???? I've always been curious about that - I don't think it necessarily means anything but its fun to try things out!
Nothing too much to report here... it was 36 degrees on thursday. Really too hot for me! I am happier if the max temp is 30! Lovely day today - DH did lots of gardening so its looking lovely out there... we finally got some tidying done in the house. Very boring mundane stuff but I feel as though we achieved something!
I've been meaning to learn to crochet. I can knit - not beautifully but have made a few things. My hubbies grandmother is amazing - she knits the boys the most beautiful little jackets. I'm more into sewing to be honest... although I'm not that great at it...

Hi all,
Just popped on quickly whilst DH has taken the boys out to the supermarket. Not been on here for ages, still feeling rubbish and just about coping. Eating every 2 hours (literally) and have put on 1/2 stone already since all that weight I lost of the IG!
Hope everyone is ok. Congratulations Kell on your BFP. About to try and catch up on everyone's posts now.

Hello ladies!
hope you are all having nice weekends with your families.
ds1 is swimming with dh and ds2 is having a nap so i'm catching up on stuff quickly. Lovely to have time to myself.
Sunset- no I don't crochet although would love to learn. I started knitting a while ago but just didn't get very far...I prefer drawing, making cards etc.
Petal- glad you are loving every minute with your gorgeous new little boy :HH:
Charlie- how are you doing? How is your little scamp? ds2 is being a real pickle at the moment, not being able to talk yet there is just a lot of shouting etc, it is really hard keeping peace with both boys as they are into such different things at the moment. Hard work!!
Maybe- hope you are staying relaxed and keeping that bp down.
Kell- congrats again, such wonderful news!
Deaks- when are you thinking you will O? I am only a few dpo so we are slowly getting our cycles in sync! Hopefully we can get our bfps together!
ILP- how are you doing hun?

Hi all, was trying to get on here earlier while I had time but couldn't get on for some reason. Now I'm in a rush before ds2 wakes so just a quicky!
Got my smiley at lunchtime today (was neg this morning) which is a couple of days earlier than normal :) So am all set for +12 tomorrow eve...yay! So yes indigo, we are nearly in sync!! I tested my ph yesterday and it was 4.3 which is a miracle considering it was ewcm and usually much higher the day before smiley. Perhaps its the acidophilus as I thought I saw a slight improvement last month too. Fx for a bfp for us both this month!
Little miss, haven't seen you in here for a few days... You ok?
Hi everyone else! X

Aww happy birthday to your sOn inglewood!
Deaks good luck with upur sway! And Indego fingers crossed you got it this month! Have everything crossed for your bfp's girls!!
We've had all three boys this weekend! It's actually been quite calm and nice for a change lol! There was an art and craft fair here Saturday, we took them all with Nanny, the boys it to see Santa, and
Reindeer and held an owl! They had a great time! I didn't even get to walk about the show :( it was so busy it was really hard work getting the pram around!
We've also had the older boy cut out bits from the Argos catalogue an make a Xmas list! That was fun!
They are 6&8 and pretty much want the same stuff! Btw if it ever gets a bit confusing me talking about the older boys they are both called Tommy! Me and dp have been friends for 14 years and both had a son from previous relationships, my Tommy is eldest, dp's is youngest! It's confusing at times even for me lol!
I've been cleaning no end this weekend! Getting this bfp has spurred me on to sort our house out, I want it all homely and nice for when baby arrives! Glad I've found something to motivate me lol!

My bp went up to 97 as had ds1 birthday party yesterday and found out dh has spent another £300 on his credit card ( took revenge by transferring all the joint account money into my ISA ) so mad at him! Plus I have been ignoring mil but after her emailing me as if nothing ever happened I replied to her. I told her I look five months gone and have put on two pounds. She asked if I was having twins! I ever anyone was asking for smack in the chops it's her! Everything she does and says grates on me.

Ds1 was eight on the 10th so we have just been really bad at aranging a party! That's the problem with the boys being born three weeks apart.
Charlie I could seriously kill my husband. I just can never trust him. I have my own savings so it's not bad but I don't want to be the one who saves while he acts like a Pratt. I want do the house up but decided the only way is he pays for that or we go 50:50. God knows what I will do with my savings but he certainly never any benefit from it! I am not paying anything off the mortagae or deposit for a new house or holiday or sod all that he would share in. Might buy a 4x4 and run the idiot over with it. I told him to leave today and find himself another woman who has low esteem and brain functionality like him - but alas he is still here! It's his house too so I can't throw him out lol! Trying to think of some revenge now...

Maybe my oh is the same, some how last month he managed to waste over £500 and I honestly couldn't tell u what he brought! I've taken his bank card off him, it's rediculous!
We don't have any savings at the moment but I've been trying to get some together and he just goes and spends it! He wants to breed our lab this month as well. That's going to cost a fortune but I suppose the financial reward can be good.
I'm not sure about it yet!

Hi all, just a quicky again...dont know where today has gone!
Cant believe it.... after 10 months of swaying my ewcm finally seems to be behaving itself!!! i got my smiley and my ph is still 4.4-4.6!!!!!! sooo happy as it means that if i cant get pg soon doing 0+12, then i could potentially dtd over ov! Hope it stays low tomorrow too. must be the acidiphilus as its the only thing i am doing differently!!
Maybe- sorry your mil is being annoying still!
Also excited as i bought my secret santa pressie today! i know its a bit premature as i dont know who i have yet but i figured so many of us have similar taste and if i get someone with different taste, i will just have to keep it for myself!!! Btw, sorry in advance for not attempting something homemade!

Kell I have dh cards too. I earnt about £500 in over time last month and now I don't know why I bovered. Makes me feel like I am the stupid one! I could have got a credit card and drawn out £500 with no effort just like him! Thing is I feel guilty spending myself. Must feel nice to be so selfish all the time. I would love to really hurt him but I just can't do it. wish I could just so he knows how it feels.

hmm - whats up with our Nest tickers?
Oh don't get me started on MIL again! How can 2lbs be twins??? serioulsy??? I might tell her I was so concerned about my massive weight gain that I mentioned it to the consultant and he has signed me up for slimming world (you go on that free while PG BTW) with the aim to lose 2 stone before baby is born and I have a apointment to discuss a gastic bypass six months post birth. Just tell the old boot what ever she want sto hear. Not the reality of I probably will not have a normal weight baby even if but on 20 stone as my stupid placentas never work. And why would I want to take parenting advice from a woman who raised a man who can't live within his means an another who can't keep his d*ck in his pants??
Again..... gggrrrgghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh gosh she sounds awful maybe!
I didn't know you could go on sw when pregnant? And for free? How do you find out about this?
I'm the same as you about spending on myself! I always buy for the kids before I even think about myself! This month I brought a small storage chest of draws for our hall way, that's as close as I'll get to buying myself anything! But yes I did feel guilty!

I have read it on babycentre. Not sure what your BMI has to be to qualify. The NHS has a healty eating drive on so maybe the budget for the grant they scrapped was put towards this? Sounds like a good idea as I think the aim is to be weighed weekly and to eat healthy and maintain weight rather than dieting with the aim of losing weight.
I might ask about it when I see the midwife again, but as I have to be scanned to make baby is growing every six weeks I think they would turn me down. Unless keeping the flab down helps with my BP?

Deaks big yay for your amazingly low PH! That's great news, Good luck for your attempt.:)
I'm looking into ordering some digitals OPK's and was wondering how many do you tend to use in a cycle? As I only want to buy 7 as trying to not spend too much next month on swaying bits as have the Xmas present shopping to do so want to know if that will be enough for one attempt. I'm thinking that If I use the cheapies too the most i'll need is pos up to 3 digis in on cycle, does this sound about right?

Gosh Maybe, that is NOT what you need. What a stress...hope dh can see the error of his ways. I know what you mean about getting revenge, that's the only way I can feel better about an unfair situation. And your MIL, why can't she just keep her comments to herself, just infuriating, people should just think for a second before opening their mouths. Hope you can put her out of your mind, she is not worth it.

I think you could definately get away with one pack. I use cheapies til they fade in and then when they are getting dark, use the digitals with fmu and if neg use cheapies the rest of the day until you think they are positive and then confirm using same urine with digital. X

It's happened before for a few hours one day, should hopefully resolve once they update their page. x

Inglewood, happy belated birthday to your ds1 and I hope he has a great time at his party! Cant believe how good the acidiphilus is! I have only been taking 2 tabs so far but if not pg this cycle might take an extra next cycle and bd through ov....only if that helps dry up the ewcm as I still have a fair bit!
I can imagine how hard finding 2 names must be... Though I have several for a girl but a boy would be tricky!
How is everyone today? Hope the sickness isn't too bad for those suffering!

Inglewood my dp has already even talking about names! I wouldn't mind but we only found out three days ago! It must be difficult trying to think of two!
Deaks, fingers crossed for the big bd! Lol! Hope you join me in a couple of weeks!
Breeding our dog is costing a fortune, so now I can't do any Christmas shopping until next pay day which is 20th dec oh joy! I hate it when oh gets an idea in his head like this, there is literally no telling him and no stopping him either!
So looks like a bit of rush on for me this Christmas urgh
Well must get on a walk the dog! Have a great day!

Thank you Deaks i'll just get one pack for my first cycle. Only 3 weeks to go!
Inglewood are you looking for twin names like say Sarah and Sophia, Maisie and Molly or just two names say Esme and Freya?
Def must be so much harder thinking of two, but fun too!
Charlie have a good day at work, when I used to work at Costa i'd do the 6.30 a.m shift which I quite liked because It ment I got to leave at 2pm and you got all the regulars in. Hope your feeling a little better and not too long to wait until your private scan!

BABYMAD - Sorry your still feeling ill. I am back on the tiredness and heartburn stage - blurrgghh!!! Was falling asleep at work today. My team lead asked how I was, so I told her and she didn't reply (why ask? when my blood boils due to stress I am off work anyway to be admitted to hospital). I could do with time off, feel pooped!
Tried not eat extra today but have decided that nots going to work as I need to keep my energy up. No point putting on the lowest amount of baby fat just to crash on the way home! I dearn't check my emails in case MIL emails me. I think I will say to her that no one else has said I am big, but that probably as its rude to say and most people are too polite - unlike her...
haha! Still in a bad mood. This one might last a while I think

I agree with Kell, take a few days off Maybe and have a rest. Just ignore your MIL, that will annoy her more! I wish my body liked being pg, its so hard, being a working mum of 3 being so bloody sick but I know it will be worth it so focusing on the end result!!

Babymad, sorry you are feeling rough. Was the lack of sleep ds's related or pg related? It will definately be worth it in the end :)
Maybe, you really sound like you are going through it at the moment. I definately dont think you should not eat as that will make you feel rubbish... and avoiding the emails from MIL definately worth while if she hasnt got anything friendly to say.

November 21st, 2011, 03:16 PM
Lack of sleep is pg related Deaks, I really wish I had something positive to say but my body really doesn't like being pg :( I've always felt quite cheated that I cant enjoy being pg like others do. it's such a special thing after all. I can't get to sleep for ages then I always wake about 5am and struggle to get back to sleep, had the same with my other pg's so shouldn't be surprised!
GL with your attempt tonight, has the shift in cm happened? Hope all goes well. :)
Hope everyone else is ok :)

November 21st, 2011, 03:25 PM
Poor you babymad! i also do not enjoy pg like other ladies do. With ds2 i felt like i couldnt breathe properly for 4 months which made me really panicky. I wander if there's anything you can do/take to help you sleep...something herbal maybe?
Think the shift is slowly happening. Not got as much ewcm which is good though it means im struggling to test my ph as a small blob never gives me as low a reading as a big amount! My opk went neg sometime between 1pm and 6pm so im wandering if this side of midnight might be a bit early. Gonna keep monitoring and avoid testing ph til 9pm and hope i have a big enough amount then. Last cycle i dtd 40hrs after i first noticed +opk (and that was a quick ovulation by my standards) so 40hrs this time would be 4am tomorrow. Gonna aim for more like 36hrs which would be midnight bding!

chocolate, i am on progesterone crinone for my lp defect. It is a cream in an applicator that you insert into the vagina. I find it best to insert at bedtime as then it doesnt leak out (i tried using it in the morning and it was disgusting!) and by the time the morning comes, pretty much all of it has been absorbed. You have to clear the remnants out of your vg every few days but again this is a small price to pay for a lp that goes from 9 to 13 days! hope that helps. I went to my docs and said i had been charting for months and said i have an lp defect and that i had heard progesterone helps. They didnt seem to query me at all. Annoyingly i forgot to take mine last mine :(

Nice to hear from you Petal!
Sorry to hear BF is sore I did a BF course after DS1 to become a bossom buddy and learnt that normally this is down to positioning and latch.
The basics that can really help to remember when latching on is tummy to tummy, nipple to nose and to wait until they route and open their mouth really wide before allowing them latching on.
I hope you are getting some support from your midwife, it's worth asking for them to check for tongue tie if they haven't already. So lovely to hear about the newborn love!! How do your boys like their little brother!?

Hi all,
Chocolate, i just clean the progesterone out of my vg by inserting finger and running it around pulling out any clumps. Sounds gross i know but its really easy and helps prevent a build up. I cant exactly remember why this needs to be done... i think the build up can delay af if she is going to come anyway. I think the crinone is supposed to be better than the prog cream you can buy online because it is stronger and works immediately. And its supposed to be better than the suppositories that you can get on prescription as its less messy. You use it everyday starting a couple of days after ov (to be sure ov is over) until either af arrives or if bfp (fx!) arrives you use it for whole first trimester i believe. Im pretty sure its fine to use alongside the supps you mentioned but worth double cheacking with a doctor. GL!

Petal, so lovely to hear from you, i just love that immediate bond with a baby! But like lavender said i hope you are getting good support from your mw!
I did my attempt at about 11.30 last night. Just a straightforward abstinance of 9 days and o+12 with zyrtec a couple of hours before and slight propping of hips after. i didnt bother with any lime or acigel but my ph has been quite low throughout ov and although i didnt have much to test at the time, the tiny glob i could get was ph 5 which usually means for me that my ph (if i could get a bigger amount to test) would have been low 4's. I had a tingley feeling around my ovaries for the hour afterwards and really felt like i had caught the egg....FX!!!! My temp was massively up this morning so hoping i got my timing just right. Was 36 hours after first opk. PLEASE PLEASE LET THIS BE MY MONTH!!!

Thanks Deaks, so did you get prescribed the crinone or did you buy it? Id rather get something from the dr incase I need to go back to them for extra help/advice, they may get a bit annoyed if I just buy something to use instead of following their advice.
I wondered if AF would be delayed longer than the average 14 day lp.
PS- sounds like a great attempt! Fingers crossed
Petal, glad your so in love with your baby, thats what I felt like with DS2 after feeling a bit deflated in pregnancy after hearing 'boy' but so glad in the end I just had so much love for him. Now I can relax next pregnancy knowing the bond will come regardless of gender.

I was prescribed the crinone as i too felt like i wanted soemthing from the dr incase i needed help or advice. Its also a REALLY expensive medication so to purchase it online would cost a fortune each month!
Sunset, masses of luck for your theory! It will make life so much easier for you when you can drive. Glad also that mw appointment went well, and im sure the size if baby doesnt have a massive bearing on how hard it is to push out. My little ones are impossible whereas my friends 10oz came out no probs!
Beginning to feel like i dtd too early last night as my temp seems low again, but then i know i shouldnt compare temps at different times. Its hard as i always wake it a bit overly cosy in my bed but i suppose if thats always the case then its still consistent. The thing thats annoying me is my cervix feels slightly soft again but i guess again that these things vary. I was sure if had gone from soft to firm last night. Cm is definately creamy now so im hoping its just my body playing silly tricks and that my attempt was ok. At least my ph has been lowish through ov do for the first time i can say that timing shouldnt matter as much!

Maybe take it easy.

Lol Charlie I'm like you I hate milk, I can have it in cereal but literally enough to coat it, I pour the excess away! Could never drink it as milk shake or in a drink at all! I don't mind cooking with it tho coz I'm weird! Lol
Inglewood god you poor thing! Hope your ok! Rest up!
Maybe same for you hun, you obviously need the sleep!
Today I've had horrendous cramping! It really felt like contractions in early labour! Just decided id take it easy and chill out with ds2 so that's exactly what we've done!
I'm hoping it's just further implantation or something, and not a bad sign!
Kell, my cramping during all my pg was so so bad I was scanned early each time!! Try not to worry, the first twice I was told it was the corpus lutem cysts that pg women get causing the pain, 3rd time was told it must be a deep implantation... I was told to take it easy, so called in sick fora couple of wks. xx

Inglewood, that sounds like my worst nightmare, hate being sick, especially to that extent, and then have the dentist!!
Kell I have felt cramps etc. intensifies with each pregnancy, hope it gets better for you.
We have decided to get a cleaner for 2 hours a week, OH is working overtime 3 nights a week so those 3 days I have no help at all for anything, and weekends he is knackered and doesnt look after the kids while I clean so something had to give. Had a quick de-clutter and wipe around lol, cleaning for the cleaner, but so looking forward to not stressing.
This month is just so fab for me, work has eased (I childmind) and no longer need to do the school run the end of next month so thats a huge plus if I am pregnant by then. I am getting 2 massages, nails done, hair cut in an actual hairdressers, a night out, and 3 nights to butlins ............ I never do any of that lol!! All in aid of ttc for a girl, cant complain about that even if the next is a boy lol

Hi all,
kell, how are you feeling? hope the cramps are a good sign.
Inglewood, sorry you have been feeling so ill, glad you are over the worst of it!
Babymad, its nice being able to look back and compare previous ds's ultrasound shots with a new bub. My two looked identical in their (very clear) photos. And bizarrly the sonographers for each one at 20 weeks commented on their perfect skull shapes (aaaar!)..... it was a bit deyjavu! And now ds2 is looking less babyish i can really see how similar they are in looks! Anyway, i still think girl for you :)
Have been wollowing in my own worry today...as appears to be normal after my attempts! did i do this right, did i dtd too soon....but feeling bit better about it now!
Charlie, i remember now you saying about the feeling of butterflys and having got it! Very similar to what i felt.... though more like a tingling somethings happening feeling down there!
Anyway, hoping that all this ms eases for you all very soon! oh how i wish to be joining you!

Charlie, a friend of mine also told me to try really fizzy lemonade, not diet. Also helps u go to the loo?? apparently?? I drank that hot too!! She has 5 kids and is sick for 9mths solid!! So any advice she gave me helped. The hot water really made a difference too, wouldn't normally drink it but go back to it even now when feeling sicky.

Petal - good to hear from you! Enjoy this lovely cuddly newborn stage... makes me feel excited to hold my own new little baby...
Deaks - fx you caught that egg!!!
Inglewood - wow - it won't be long til you find out the sex! With all those scans you'll definitely see something soon!!!!!! Very exciting...
I was watching One Born Every Minute last night - the US series. We've only had the UK series so far so this was really interesting!!!! They said they have an epidural rate of 90%! I was amazed! Also they seemed to offer drugs a lot more readily. It was fascinating to see the differences! Oh and all the women had their babies lying on the bed with legs in stirrups!! I would NOT like that. I'm going for the same as last time, if there are no complications, which is kneeling on the floor next to the bed! Worked wonderfully! I want gravity on my side.
Had my blood test this morning for my 12 week scan Combined Screening test. DS1 was up right close watching the needle and blood coming out. :P I can't look at it!!!!
Anyhews - hope everyone is travelling well...

Baby mad hope ds's op goes well Hun!
Pinga, I've watched obem USA and didn't really like it as much as the uk one, I think it's because of all the epi's you barely even know most of them are in labour!
Is it weird that I like to experience the pain? With ds1 I went into hospital when my waters was only 1cm and they wanted to send me home, I ended up being sick so was kept in given paracetamol and sleeping tablets as they were adamant I wasn't having him, 4 hours later alone and half asleep I very nearly gave birth in a lift and his dad only just made it to the birth as they sent him home!
I barely remember details and felt gutted about how things went! Ds2 birth was amazing! I felt every contraction, didn't feel cheated out of labour and want exactly the same thing this time if possible!
I don't have a problem with epi's at all! But I do think it's far to over used in the us. Rant over lol!
Deaks hope your sway gives u a bfp!! When is af due?
I'm feeling much better now, the cramps carried on for a few hours but have settled down now, still feeling very normal to be honest!

I've loved reading through all your posts this morning and I found it very interesting that so many of you don't like milk :p I Love milk!! at the moment, I alone, go through about 4-5 pints of milk a day.. it's scary! and the boys love their milk as well so in total we go through about 7 pints a day! I think it would be cheaper for us to just buy a cow and have in the garden lol
Home&health have lots of american birth programs, but i always prefer the english birth shows much better simply because like you all say, you can hardly think the american women are in labour lol I've done natural hippy births twice and i really, really want an epi this time, but i know it's not gonna happen because my labours are so quick and the midwifes are so freaking stubborn "just try a little while longer and see how it goes" "but you're doing so well" "just work through another few contractions and see how you cope" Bla bla bla bla...

Babymad, hope its all quick for today xx. Charlie, I had fibregel in pregnancy for constipation, and I also took some sweet liquid stuff from the chemist that worked as a laxative, def. See your doctor and ask at the chemist as iended up with piles and it was horrendous. I had cold sweats from the pain of it after giving birth to DS1, but with DS2 I only had it mildy and didn't need to take anything. They prescribed me anusol cream and suppositries too, lovely lol!

Kell I wanted to labour next to bed with ds2. I had a newly grad midwife who was all for it but a senior midwife who came in last min said no so I ended up on my back! Had no choice in the matter. I have only gas and air but the stomach straps due to high blood pressure. I am with sunset - I want a epi as I can't move about as I have to be a metre from the monitor. I have felt everything twice so sod that. Either way I can't move about

I totally agree with this. With ds1 i was free to move about and labour was so much easier because of that but with ds2, because he was premature i had to "lie still" with the straps on my belly throughout labour! when the midwife told me i wasn't allowed to move i burst out crying and told her there and then that i wouldn't be able to cope through the contractions "lying still", but she was still adamant i didn't need any painkillers. And trust me ladies, i am NOT repeating that!!!!! sure, as long as i'm free to move about i can handle a drug free labour, but i'm just not doing it if i have to be confined to a bed.. there is simply no way! and i've never for some reason been allowed to labour next to the bed even though i always try and tell them that i don't want to lie on my back for the delivery part... do they listen? no! if baby stays put to full term and i don't have time for an epi or get stuck with a stubborn midwife again then my other choice would be a water birth since you're more free to do as you please then through the birthing process, it's not like the midwife is going to jump in the pool with you.
Sunset
November 23rd, 2011, 08:28 AM
Kell ~ are you training to be a midwife now? water birth is my second choice if i'm not allowed the epi or there's simply no time for one.. it would be a lovely experience.
chocolate ~ I cant believe she's not willing to prescribe you progesterone. did she say why? i don't understand why some gp's would do it without thinking twice and others refuse to, it doesn't make sense! for b6 i would recommend no higher than 150mg.. and if you get a tingly sensation in your fingers then drop it down to a 100mg

Hi all, hope ur all well today? Thankfully I am so much better, no appetite but not feeling sick! Fx stays that way.
Spend most of the morning watching 16 and Pregnant, the USA series. Watched one where a 16yr old girl had twin girls and lived on her own after separating from her Bf, kept thinking......"if a 16yr new mum can do it, I might be ok".....lol
Think I am starting to feel some proper movements?? Although only put on 4lbs in 17wks, so not like me, usually have put at least half a stone by now and everyone keeps telling me I don't look pg! worrying me! My mum says it's because I have lost 2 and a half stone and people are used to seeing me a bit 'heavier' anyway???
Deaks, I have good vibes for you this mth!! FX
Babymad, hope op went well for ur little guy! x
Charlie, prune juice? Fybogel? coffee? things that have worked for me b4! And yeah for ur wee Raspberry!
Indigo, Fx you never know!!
All you birthing plan ladies....with ds1 I was for pain relief and absolutely NO epidural!! Turns out I needed a spinal (similar) and emerg c-section... felt a failure for weeks after till I realised we were both healthy and that was all that mattered! ds2 I was on the same wave length....again unplanned c-section 3 days b4 due date (medical reasons)! And 3rd time, no choice...c-section! But I'm cool with it all now, Dh thinks he's the luckiest man alive not having to go thru labour/childbirth!! men!! lol Were having the 'snip' converstaion at the mo, not for now, but he's 35 and I'd like him to consider it for the future, but he's not up for it!!! I don't want sterilsed during my twin section, think it's too much for my body, esp if they come as an emergency. And I think after 3 sections and a laparoscopy I've done my bit!!! Hoping after they are here he'll change his mind as I can't take the pill and the coil was a nightmare with my cervical erosions.
Hope u all get the births you want as it's an impt part of bringing our babies into this world and stand up for what you believe in and what you want!!! Go girls!! xx

Maybebaby ~ with ds1 i wrote the most detailed birth plan ever as an attempt to feel in control and prepared, but as most people know after having had a baby or 2: birthplans never go to plan lol i ended up in theatre with a retained placenta and needed a spinal and everything is pretty much a blur so i don't think anyone even as much as looked at my birthplan. with ds2 i did what you said and wrote a birthplan, stating everything i didn't want to happen (experiences from my first labour etc) but then ds2 decided to come early and that was it, my birthplan was out the window.. so this time i'm not gonna bother! i will probably take a piece of A4 paper and write in bold laters "EPIDURAL PLEASE" and stick that on the front of my hospital notes and that will count as my birthplan haha
Indigoviolet ~ good luck! i didn't realise you're in the 2ww! fx for a bfp!

Because I just can't read the birth stories without saying something(it's the student midwife in me!!!) I have to second Inglewoods comment! If you don't want to lie down to push your baby out...DON'T LIE DOWN! They cannot physically move you. Just refuse to move:) Midwives know how to catch a baby on the toilet, in the shower, on all fours...they are just being lazy and the whole protocol thing just requires them to do things a certain way. I was at a birth once where the mama did not want the Dr. to pry his fingers between baby's head and perineum(she was adamant on this and it truly doesn't need to be done)when she was crowning. He did anyway...She kicked him off of his stool, clear across the room! LOL! I think maybe he'll listen a bit better now;) Im not saying to get violent...LOL ;) Anyway, birth your babies however you feel is right. You are the one going home to live with the experience for the rest of your life! Be informed and stand up for yourselves! xoxo Much love~

Lol dola mama I felt like kicking my midwife in the face as she started sticking with no pain relief. She told me they can't numb skin but lo and behold - turns out shecould. I didn't do a birth plan ford ds1 just as well really as that all went to Pot. I wrote a bit for ds2 and that was stuck too. So all I want this time is pain relief. Someone who knows what they are doing to sticth me up not too fussed about birthing position but if I have to be on the heart monitor and on my back then I need more than gas and air! I am not too demanding - whatever happens it going to bloody hurt!

Never heard of the tingling sensation, thanks for the tip! I took 50mg lunchtime, and fine, may try another 50mg of b6 tonight, will do a quick google for info first.
The dr didnt say much, I basically said my lp is short can I get prog. she said well once you are pregnant the lpd wont matter so I said but I read that there may not be enough time for my lining to thicken ready for implantation, to which she sort of said 'hmm' as if she didnt know. Thats when she said she can refer me on lol

Yeah...if there is medical need for you to be lying down and strapped to monitors(can I ask why they need this...? Just being nosey;)) then it is unfair to ask a mom to just grit her teeth and bare it. A woman was meant to move and sway and do whatever feels right in the moment...not lay down on your back! Do we see any other mammals giving birth on their back? None!!! Anyway, I totally agree with what you're saying and same goes for induction. If there is a medical need to induce, pain relief is usually needed as it is unnatural and the pain is 3x as bad! Oh and I cannot believe she stitched you without pain relief!!!! OMG! I needed stitches with my first baby and I have to say that the stitching was worse than the birth...and I had no pain relief on board either. I hope you have a fabulous experience this time! You just put your foot down and start demanding!!! :D xo

Chocolate, i hope the b6 works for you! definately push for the progesterone (weird how my gp gave it to me without a seconds thought!) as it will really do the trick. I start mine tonight (2dpo - despite what ff reckons) and i really hope there is a little bean-to-be in there that it will do the trick for!
Im definately pro-epi! had one with ds1 and it was the only thing that got my through the following 2.5 hrs of pushing as i would have struggled to do that after hours and hours and hours of pain. Didnt have it for ds2 despite begging! There was enough time for it, they just didnt get their arses in gear! With dc3 i too will write in large letters on the front of my maternity reconds i reckon! Funny though, inlike any of you, i actually deal with contractions better by lying down on my back! Its such a personal thing and i hope we are able to give birth the way we want!
Indigo, keeping everything crossed for you!

For me my birthplan has always been very bare and minimal - with ds1 I think i just wrote no epidural, and for DH to cut the cord. For DS2 I was induced but didnt let them strap me down and got a pretty ok birth for induction. My best birth was ds3 a homebirth and then my birthplan read, no epi, let the cord stop pulsing, dh cut the cord and skin to skin. I really hope I can have another homebirth ds2 was meant to be one. 2 hours after giving birth I had my baby asleep beside me and a wagamamas on my lap BLISS. I know I am lucky to have had good births so far - but I must say I dont think i could ever give birth lieing on my back I would kill someone lol I have always been on all fours but holding onto something - hospital bed in the sitting up position and at home I used the sofa to lean on.

inglewood ~ it must be nice to "know" what to expect this time with the CS.. at least you've been through it before :) what is the recovery like?
The best thing will be knowing 'what day' they will be here this time! My 1st c-section being a 1am drama was tough and I learnt so much from it during the recovery as you forget it's Major Surgery after all. having a urinary catheter after for 24hrs and a new baby to carry was odd! With ds2 being semi-planned (6 days b4 due date) I was calmer and I knew what was ahead, but I was worrying more about the spinal than the actual section!! Made Dh come in and hold my hand!!! lol But didn't make the same mistakes after ds2 like rushing around thinking I could walk 2miles to the post office to pay my road tax like I did with ds1, getting there in agony, braking down in tears and calling a taxi home!! It's a painful recovery, the first week esp is tough, but then I do not imagine pushing out a baby then being 'stitched' down below is a walk in the park either!! Bless you all! I dreaded that tear so much with ds1 I used almond oil to 'prepare' my perineum in the wks leading up to his birth....then had a section!! lol hate not being able to drive until the doc says you can either, ds1 was made to wait 6wks!!! ds2 my dad had a stroke when he was 3wks old and the doc took pity on me and let me drive then!!
I am jealous of all ladies who have had 'normal' say births, feel I have missed out, but if my babies are meant to come out the 'sunroof' then so be it!!! lol

Hi girls,
Thank you all for your lovely messages :-) Baby O slept from 11pm-5.45am today, was lovely! although he's been sleeping in our bed the last few nights :-/
When i done my birthplan this time i had 'i want an epidural' top of the list lol, the dr was hesitant to give me it because this was my 3rd baby and he said even though i was only 3-4cm 30 mins previous that i may end up having the baby before it kicked in, i was like no way am i anywhere near giving birth!! so i got the epidural thank god, it worked for 30 mins then he was born, still glad i got it though, the last hour or so was horrendous, i cant do pain lol.
Aww babymad, your poor little boy, so glad the ops over and hes doing well :-) bet his brothers are looking after him.
I so hope you find out next week what sex the twins are inglewood!! im dying to know lol :-)

aw petal, i love your siggy, so cute!
I had a full episiotomy which i dont think is any better than a c-sec really....was really laid up with it. Have heard it is very common to need one if you have the epi because your body doesnt get used to the pain and so when the pain hits, the body struggles to push the baby out leaving the mw's no option but to cut. Having said that i would STILL choose the epidural anyday when i face so long pushing. Didnt have an epidural with ds2 and it still took as long (that damned twisted pelvis!) to push so im thinking whats worse.... no epi, excruciating pain and no cutting or epi, little pain and cutting.... no brainer for me!!

Wow girls you've been busy chatting!! :)
Chocolate sorry the doctor didn't give u want thing, hope b6 works well for you!
Charlie so glad to hear your feeling better! :)
Babymad hope your lo is ok, bless him!
Petal what a clever boy sleeping for so long!! I honestly believe that for the first few weeks of having a new baby you just kinda wing it! Well I do anyway, pretty much anything goes like sleeping in same bed etc, then once you've got over the birth and sheet tiredness it all falls into place!!
Well today I had ds1's parents evening, he's on target for his year group and all I all it was a positive report, however they did say that he can be lazy at times and has a potential to achieve more, his dad seems to be dwelling on the negative of it all, and when I kissed tommy before he went to stay at his dads I felt so sorry for what grief I know he will get from dad tonight.
On a plus we had a curry for dinner nom nom lol

Dola mama I had pre eclampsia with induction and bp of 190/140 with ds1 so choice or complaints his birth. With ds2 I had high bP so had to be monitored which is fare enough but I could sit on the birthing ball so why I had to labour on my back god knows

Oh I was cut with ds1 as I needed vontose after 3.5 hours pushing he was back to back with the cord round his neck so the cord was short and holding him in. A doctor cut me and I was welled numbed before she did it and she stiched me with no pain. That was far nicer than tearing with ds2. The birth was a piece of p!## compaired to the sticthes - worse pain I have ever felt and there was no need to feel it

Thanks Hun, it was truly awful. Because they had to do the episiotomy to get ds out and also further tearing from removing the placenta manually, both of which they totally cocked up leaving me with full on convulsions, my vg was so swollen it was hanging down about 4 inches... Had to send my dad out to buy me a rubber ring which I sat on for about a month! Not pleasant! I changed hospitals for ds2 because of that and the after care being so shocking. But they have now closed that hospital so I have to go back to that hell hole for dc3. Can't wait!

Hopefully it's a whole new medical team and prob lots of diff midwives at the awful hosp?? My friend had her baby in aug and is still sore from a similar experience. They had to turn her baby inside her and pull her out...just awful. She was screaming for a section but they said no and she's been left very 'troubled' down there. The joys of childbirth! Wish I was like my mum few puffs ands pants and out my brother and I came, no meds!! Saying that we were 7lb-er's, my boys were 9lb 1 and 8lbs 5 9early) and I am 5ft!! Didn't know I had a twisted cervix either, but dh says it matches my personality! twat! Shame ur Dh gets home so late!! must be tough, I feel bad leaving dh 2 nights a wk at 7pm, all night till home at 8.30am. With twins too, going back to work at 6mths will be tough for him! Think I am lucky tho, him being a twin and coming from a family of 4, he's taking it in his stride (so far).....
We had fun tonight trying to suss out the phil and teds sport buggy a mum gave me!! lol Dh going daft trying to google how to open it!!! hee hee, shame it's no good from birth tho! Not sure what to do, buy a double pram for what 6mths or so?? or use the M&P twin buggy (kindly also given to us) that almost lies flat with cosy toes?? It's just to walk literally 2mins or less to school and back with the boys!
Petal, love ur ticker, love wee bunnies! Good boy sleeping for u, knew his mummy would love a good sleep! Glad u got ur own way in the end at the birth too. I'm so desp to find out the sex, Fx on tues it's the consultant as she promised me a good look about if it was her, the sonographer said she wouldn't say till 20wks :( Sure it's 2 baby boys in there, just my instinct and I'm ok with that, the shock of 2 babies in there has over-ruled the shock it will prob be a boy! Hope ur resting lots and jealous of all ur cuddles with ur boy!!!

My birthplan for DS1 was a verbal 'I do NOT want pethadine'. In the end I just had gas and air and an episiotomy. was only a 6hr birth
With DS2 I wanted to go completely drug free and didn't want to be on the bed. My gorgeous MW got me the mobile belly monitors! The best thing ever!!! Means I didn't have to lie down and baby was still monitored!!! I was a bit gutted that I had to be induced. But I had him drug free in 55 minutes. I tore pretty badly with DS2. It hurts tear or cut!! The stitching up took longer than the birth! I was on cloud 9 after that birth! Bumped into a pregnant tour group of the birth centre and I was walking my baby up to the ward, grinning like an insane woman. They all looked a bit terrified.
I am actually a bit nervous about this one. If DS2 was 55 minutes... ummm how quick will #3 come????? Might end up with a home birth??
I am really into natural birth BUT saying that I'm lucky to have had quick births - the hippy in me is happy! I'm not judging anyone that does it differently - you do what is best for you!! I think people have different pain thresholds too - mine is pretty good. After DS2 my MW asked me if I was doing hypno-birthing... I wasn't I was just doing breathing techniques... :)
Has anyone recorded their births? A part of me is really interested to see what I'm actually like during labour! And it would be kinda cool to see baby come out! I might think about it for this birth... not exactly a video you get out at family Christmases! Early on in my relationship with DH my now MIL showed me DHs baby album - there is a lovely picture of him coming out. Did not want to see that side of my MIL!!!!

So definitely medically needed for DS1. With DS2, you're right....you didn't need to labour on your back, most likely. It's just "hospital protocol" and they just expect that all women want to birth like that... To touch base on the episiotomy stories... I've attended births where even women with epidurals are moved upright and supported by the staff so they could push effectively which leads to WAY less epi's. I think that most Dr's here in my city have learned that tearing is WAY better than cutting(thank God!). It all comes down to who is willing to help women so they can have a smoother birth no matter what is going on in the birthing suite. Research based care providers are hardly seen any more:( Episiotomy's also take 5x longer to heal than a natural tear and usually creates much more scar tissue as well. They are not fun....I'm sorry for everyone that has gone through that...not nice at all.

I've recorded 2 so far:bigsmile: First was a MW attended home waterbirth and the second was an unassisted home waterbirth. I LOVE watching my birth videos. They make me cry every time I see them. I will be recording this birth as well as having a photographer here to capture the moments. It'll be my second unassisted and I'm seriously excited about it!! I love having my babies at home. I'm blessed with quick(not so easy, though;)) births as well and I'm very thankful for that. My 2nd came after about 2 hrs of hard labour and my third came after 1hr of hard labour. After the horrible experiences I had at the hospital with my first birth, you won't catch me birthing in one ever again, unless absolutely medically necessary. There's just something about being the first one to touch and catch my baby, having a peaceful environment, and being able to climb into my own bed to nurse my new baby...it's BLISS:) (I know exactly what you mean Charlie!) xoxo

Inglewood, I totally agree, wish I was like my mum at childbirth too! My babies are so little that its rediculous how hard they are to get out! Ds1s head just would not turn in my twisted cervix, they tried all sorts! Anyway they do come out eventually so will try and stick with a natural birth next time even if this law about choosing whether you want to have a section or go natural comes into place.
I cantw wait for you to find out the sex.... So so exciting! And I'm glad your dh taking it in his stride... Mine wouldn't!! And in terms of the buggy I reckon the m+p one you have will be fine til they are old enough to both sit on the Phil and teds! Mind you, you won't enjoy the switch as the Phil and teds will seem so heavy in comparison. Dh didn't get in til gone midnight...not sure how long either of us can deal with his work hours for!
Pinga, your births sound amazing...very jealous!
My new thermometer is playing up which explains why my temps are all over the place. They are shooting up and down and today's looks like a pre ov temp! 36.43 and 10 mins later after still not moving 36.14! Yesterday it was 36.9!!! Think I will have to buy a new one....again!

lol i'm feeling a bit scarred from coming on here this morning and reading all your birth stories lmao! sounds pretty horrendous and to think i'm gonna go through that in just a few weeks is erm... scary! i'm lucky in the way that i've never torn or needed an episiotomy so my recovery has always been pretty instant.. only thing is after i had ds1 and i needed manual removal of the placenta, the midwife then tore the inside of my vaginal wall as well as the outside, but forgot to put this down in my notes so it was only a week after coming home from the hospital that i was sort of wondering why i was feeling uncomfortable down there and i had a look and got the shock of the year. it wasnt pretty, but i think in the end it's good in a way that i didnt know about the stitches before hand because i believe it would have hurt more if i would have known.. psychological and all that, because i honestly didn't think it hurt. I didn't have any pain whatsoever going to the toilet or any of that you hear about, it was just when i walked long distances that it would feel rather uncomfortable.
Anyways, i'm quite open minded when it comes to labour and i'm 99.9% sure i won't have time for an epidural, because i never do! so i'm preparing for another drug free labour and as long as i'm not confined to a bed it shouldn't be a problem.

No they have 1 senior sonographer that can scan multiple pg's too, but I have to see the Consultant every 4wks. Unless, I need to see her every 2wks then I can ask to see her while I at scanning, it's pretty flexible. Can't believe I am 17wks today, when I told the opthalmologist she was shocked, said I looked so neat for twins....that worrries me!

DS3 is doing really well and was a complete superstar at hospital :) I didn't like any of it, so good thing DH was there to keep me calm. I got very upset when they had to put him to sleep. Very pleased to be home and hoping he will be up about again properly in about 7- 10 days. complete rest for the next two days.
Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes, very kind of you all xxx

I have a very high pain freshold - but I still think - been there, done that, no thank you! I can do it drug free, I just don't want to. Felt quite smug with myself until I was with my BF when she gave birth TOTALLY drug free - no gas and air - nothing!!! OMG that woman didn't even swear or scream once!
As for seeing what goes on, nope! I have a biology degree and I love knowing how things like that work. I had it my birth plan that I wanted to see my placenta with DS2. Everyone including DH was shocked when I picked it up for a good probe, but seeing a baby come out of my private while they rip... I would be tramatised!!!

Charlie That book does look like good fun! Have you heared of Post Secrethttp://www.postsecret.com/? I found out about the project through a magazine article years ago and often go their website every now and then to pass a few minutes . I love reading them and the creativity behind each one and the secrets some so sad and some just really funny. They sell the books with past secrets on Amazon Think I'm going to put a couple on my Xmas list.
Can I just check before the start of my next cycle. The only sup that I stop is cranberry after O?

Doulamama ~ you don't fancy coming to the UK and be my doula :p i've been thinking of perhaps recording the birth, but i don't know... i'm quite squeamish so i'm not so sure i could watch it again lol
I think it depends on the angle...The 2 I recorded were waterbirths and the camera was focused on me, ABOVE me, so I wasn't seeing the baby crowning or anything. A PP mentioned that they would be traumatized if they had to see themselves tear....I WOULD BE TOO! LOL It's just me in labour and then all of a sudden I'm reaching down underneath me, in the water and grabbing my baby as he's coming out. That's all I need to see:) It's something I could put on youtube as it doesn't show anything too graphic and it's quite peaceful:) I'm actually trying to upload it as I type! I think sharing positive birth videos with other women is one way to help with the fear based culture we live in. Let me know if anyone is interested in seeing it! LOL
DM, still keep smiling for you, so lovely!!! x Thank you Inglewood! I'll be smiling twice as big as you when I hear your news next week....I'm so thinking that you have 2 little girlies inside of you!!!! xoxoxox Good luck, Mama!!
and yes DM - saw you had updated your siggy have you just found out its pink?? CONGRATS if so x
Found out yesterday!!!! It was a tear filled moment! Thank you for the congrats!!!! xoxox

Inglewood ~ i dont know what kind of twin buggy you're looking for but I have this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MIKADO-DUET-2in1-Twins-Double-Pram-Buggy-50-Colours-/170690467042?pt=UK_Baby_BabyTravel_Pushchairs_GL&hash=item27bdf1d4e2
i'm obviously not using it at the moment because the boys are so big, but it's in the garage waiting to be used again when the baby comes and i have to say I love it!! People like to comment on how big it is, because it is rather big, but it's 10 times easier to push than a tandem buggy (i have one of them too) simply because of how the weight is distributed and it's great quality for a decent price! I can't recommend it enough!

It looks fab!!!! Can't wait to show Dh, although he'll say we don't need it. Been offered a twin pram for free, but doesn't fold down to put in car. I love my own M&P pram but no good to me :( now. Don't think I'd get much selling it.

Inglewood - no, you couldn't use it with 2 newborns but you could use it as a single pushchair with one newborn and wear the other! Is your scan on Monday?
Thanks Z! My scan is tuesday (29th) 11.45am, Dh just told me he can't go!! His boss is short staffed will def give him the 13th off for my 20wk scan and so even if the consultant can tell me on tues, he asked if I could wait till 13th dec, so he can be there instead of my mum. What could I say???? Arghhhh, dilema!! Secretly want to ask anyway with my mum and not say, but he'd know if I did find out (I can't lie to save myself) and he would be hurt.

Chocolate my PH is about 5 on the strips,
Which isn't awful but not great. I haven't been having anything with aspartame in it except for cranberry light as it tends to give me a headache.
But in a last ditch attempt to lower pH more I have ordered some crystal light. to just take the week running up to O to drink in concentrated ammounts and really hope I don't get headaches.
So my question is if you don't mind asking what is your PH? and how do you test yours.
Not sure if it's the strips, the ammount of time on the diet and sups or the lack of aspartame???
Really need to work out what it is before attempt, I am going t use rephresh. But really want my natural PH to be low anyway.

Inglewood, that really is a dilemma! i guess you will jave to wait but it will be excruiciating for you...and us!!
Lavender, do you take acidiphilus? I only started taking it at the start of last cycle and it made a difference straight away by dropping my ph a bit, but now im on my second cycle i noticed a much bigger drops. It raises ph for some, but reckon its worth a shot!
morning everyone else!
Lavenderlime
November 25th, 2011, 06:56 AM
Deaks I'm already taking acidiphilus 2 a day and have been for 6 weeks I have been on a diet for 6 weeks strict IG for 4 of those still have just over 2 weeks until TTC. I've lost 5lb, so just not sure if it's maybe the PH strips or lack of fake sugars.
Maybe I should try acidiphilus plus or double the tabs I'll check my bottle but think I'm only ment to take two.
Inglewood you have a stronger will than me if you don't find out! Could you video the scan for DH and find out and let him find out by watching the video?? Hard one I would just have to find out if it were me!

Hi all, chocolate that's a great idea, will suggest it to Dh when he's home! Part of me is now hoping it's NOT the consultant as as I said b4, the sonographer wouldn't tell me at 18wks. That way it's out my hands anyway! Dh knows how desp I am to know, but I understand him wanting to know with me!
Babymad, glad the wee fella is doing well! Hope the wounds are looking good and he has a trouble free recovery x

Just home from the school xmas craft fair, was ok, lots of nice stuff but I had the 2 boys and my 85yr old neighbour and it was super busy, so spent my whole time checking the boys were still about and my elderly neighbour hadn't got lost in the crowd! All I bought for myself was a bit of tablet!!! how sad! At least I will look forward to it later with a cup of tea.
Had a few people say things to me like, "Are your sure ur pg, u look like u have lost weight, ur face is so thin and pale"
I've dyed my hair back to brown, got rid of my highlights, so think that makes me look paler and I actually stood on the scales today and have put on 6lbs now from my bfp! which I am happy about (as long as it's not tons of weight) as hate to think the babies aren't getting enough. Told Dh about the envelope idea and he said, if it's the consultant and she offers to tell you, do it! Get her to write it down and we can decide to what to do when you get home. So thanks Chocolate!! Might get to know b4 the 13th dec after all?? Roll on tues!!! Either way, I get to see my babies!!

Yay, glad he is up for it, we may do that next time as I think I don't want to find out - reality is if its a girl I want to know, but if its a boy I don't want to know and can't get round that! But if its in the envelope I'd give it to someone I trusted for safe keeping incase I change my mind :-). I'm sure the weight will come nearer the end lol so enjoy it! X

Yes it was with Babybond :) i first went when i was 16w+3d but baby was lying "indian style" with both feet covering the area so i had to come back 3 days later when i was 16w6d and luckily then she was lying in a better position :) how many days will you be for your scan? how exciting! does your dh want to stay team green?

I am sooooo tempted to find out with my mum and not let on I found out, but not sure I could keep a straight face if he asked "did you find out?". He was initially ok that I found out with my mum, then changed his mind and said he wanted to be there, so I'm a bit miffed at him for changing his mind! Have the silly worry also that when we go together it's the 13th (unlucky for some) he laughs at me, but I'm superstitious! Think I'm a gonna work on him till then....see if he'll just let me find out with my mum. To be honest I'd rather it was my mum if she says "boys" my mum is amazing and will be a great support, Dh although understands my need for a girl isn't a very good emotional support, just the way he is he's the type of guy that would say not to dwell on it, get over it etc.... Not in a horrible way, but he's not good at stuff like that. Was never shown much love as a kid and you can tell in his nature now as an adult, although he's a fab dad and makes up for what he never had with the boys.

Inglewood ~ Ds1 was born at 38+2 weeks and Ds2 was born at 36+0 so i'm expecting this baby to arrive anytime after 35 weeks, but you never know so i've started packing my hospital bag already just so it's packed :) My midwife tells me it's hard to tell because although ds2 was born prematurely it's still not "that" premature that they would worry about it iykwim and she also tells me that lots of women have 2 babies early and then go overdue with their third baby... but i can't be in that mind frame, i just have to prepare for an early arrival again so that at least i'm prepared. I'm embarrassed to say i've been so set on going overdue with both boys that I have never had a hospital bag packed and I refuse to be caught out again. have they told you when they will deliver your babies? is a twin pregnancy considered full term at 36 or 37 weeks?

I'll be exactly 16 weeks so I hope it's not too early - it's in Southampton, so about 1.5 hours from me and I'm dreading driving across the city to find it (I'm a country girl :D). I just wanted to get the scan as soon as possible because I'm sick of wondering and I don't think DH is *really* fussed about being there - he's convinced it's another boy (and doesn't mind in the slightest!) and, to be honest, if I get upset I don't really want him to know! It's also easier for me to go with my sister when the biggest two are at school so we don't need a babysitter (or worse, to take them all with us!).

Zanacal ~ i'm sure it won't be too early. Babybond has a great reputation and wouldn't scan you at 16 weeks if they couldn't be sure of gender :) I booked my first gender scan without telling my DH because like you I didn't want him to see me upset if I was told boy, but in the end I decided to tell him about the scan so at least he had a choice wheather to come with me to the scan or not (which he did). She will section be at 36wks, unless I go early!! Hope now, my babies go overdue and ds2 was only 3 days early and planned section. Some ladies go to 38/39 wks with twins (so I've read) with vag deliveries!!!
