Hi Girls,
Just wanted to update that I had my 2nd scan yesterday, and baby was measuring exactly 7 weeks, and I saw the heartbeat! :) 150 BPM. I am very pleased because after my first scan I was a bit worried that they only saw the sac and no fetal pole. Here's a pic:

Oh poor Hope! That's terrible. It's okay. I understand. No rush with updating details. Totally valid reasons there!
Mrs_P it's okay. You explained well.
Congrats One Last Dream on your gorgeous baby.
I'm really excited today because I've well and truly missed my period so am definitely pregnant. After last month's chemical I didn't really believe it until my period didn't come. All booked into the birth centre where I had my other kids too. Yay. Finding it a little hard not telling my boys. But they will tell everyone and hubby wants to wait until Christmas to announce to family.

Hi, girls. I'm so sorry to hear about two of you ladies falling down the stairs now, how scary! :( I hope you ladies are alright, and that your little babes are safe and sound.
Hello to everyone else too - I know I missed a few posts back a couple of pages, and I promise I'll respond to them soon, but I'm feeling really, really down right now. Had an 11 week scan tonight, and it doesn't look very promising that I'll be having a daughter ever in this lifetime. Can you click on this link and tell me your thoughts? I'm very worried, and just feeling really down in the dumps at the moment...even burst into tears at one point tonight...

I fell halfway down the stairs this morning around 6am. Have a houseful of ds1 friends on sleepover for his birthday - have called hospital but they won't see you until 18 weeks - am just waiting for midwife to call me as left message. Am so worried - did they scan you 3boys when it happened to you? My knee is still swelling but I am just worried about the baby. Am really hoping I have enough padding with my wobbly body. Has anyone else had this happen?
I'm so sorry I haven't replied. I have been up the hospital again on a drip as I just couldn't stop being sick and my keytones were through the roof. I'm ok now.
Yes they did scan me on a portable ultrasound machine but I did cause a lot of fuss. My baby was fine. They told me that it is the best time to have a fall as baby is so tiny and well protected bellow your pelvis.
Praying that your baby is ok hun, I know how worried you must be because I was a wreck. Did you fall forwards? Because that's what happened to me. I would have come off less injured if it wasn't for the closed baby gate at the bottom of the stairs. Sending you hugs x

Sorry for my absence girls. MS has been through the roof. Got admitted on Sunday with hyperemesis and had to stay overnight on a drip (four bags of fluid) my keytones were going crazy. They wouldn't let me leave until they were bellow two which meant I spent the whole next day there as well. Feeling a bit better they have put me on Metoclopramide and cyclizine tablets along with extra thiamine and folic acid. Is any one else on anti-nausea drugs? I feel guilty taking them. Can't believe how much hassle I have had with this pregnancy and I'm only ten weeks lol, I feel like a right drama queen, what with that and the fall down the stairs, the hospital must be sick of me.
Hoping for a 'normal' hospital free few weeks until my nuchal scan.

Hi yes I take diclectin at night cause the nausea keeps me up and I can't sleep! The way my doctor explained it is that they are safe during pregnancy and not getting rest in the first trimester can be really harmful to the baby! I only take 1 and I'm going to be stopping as I hope it goes away in the second trimester but I so know what you mean about feeling guilty! Hope you feel better soon!!

Thank you, 3boys. :) I think just the thought of going from 2 boys to 4 boys is just terrifying me. That, and the thought that if these babies are both boys, my dream of ever having a daughter is over. Still feeling crappy about this, but there's a little bit of hope that I'm hanging onto, that at least one is a girl. We'll see in a few weeks.
How are you feeling, btw? I hope you and your little babe are doing well, and recovering just fine after your fall. I'm sorry to hear you're now having so much trouble with the nausea. I hope it gets much better for you soon! (((hugs))) to you, mama.

You sound like you are in need of medication, do not worry about taking it. I am on metoclopramide also, it is working better now I bumped up to x3 daily. I am struggling too, but have only vomited once.

So sorry 3boys you got so sick. Seems everyone is still feeling so sick here, me included. Don't feel guilty about the medicine or of feeling sick throughout this pregnancy, it's nobodys fault of course. Sorry you're also sick Maple but at least pills seem to be working a bit. I'm also still nauseated especially in afternoon and evening. I just seem to want to sleep cause I feel better when sleeping. I'm not taking any pills but tomorrow I have my scan and will ask dr to prescribe something in case it gets worse or I just can't handle it anymore.
This week I was especially nauseated, starting from morning till night and also had very painful stomach, I thought I was coming up with a virus or something but seems it's better today. And it seems the nausea feeling changed from feeling constantly nauseated to feeling constantly like throwing up. I'm afraid of going out because I'm worried I might just throw up anywhere especially when I go to the supermarket and there's all those smells :( I just can't smell bread and of course I have to buy it for hubby and little one for their school/work. Can't wait till we start to feel a little normal again.
I'm also associating more nausea = more possibility it's a girl, but also trying to be realistic and thinking this is only a myth!
Tomorrow I have my scan, as already said, and I'm gonna be peeking so much to see if there's anything popping up between the legs. Can't wait till my gender scan in December.

Congratulations Violet and Andrea. Hope you both have a healthy 9 months ahead.
I didn't even bother going to the GP this time. I just booked in with my consultant. With DD my GP gave me a lecture on not to get excited as 25% of pregnancies ends in miscarriage and then didn't bother doing a pregnancy test as he said the ones in the supermarket are better than any test he would have. (He is great most of the time and esp for DD which is why I don't change).
Andrea I hear you on the 20 weeks being such a long time. I get so envious of the girls on here having the gender scan a lot earlier and even getting good guesses at 12 weeks.

What if I'm actually a rotten mom? What if we're financially zapped forever because we had another baby? Bleh...just feeling so negative these days. Last night I had the most vivid dream that I was at the doctor's and had an unexpected ultrasound, and then when it was over, the dr. asked if I wanted to know the gender. I said yes (and felt really nervous in my dream!) and he said "It's a girl." I was so, so happy! I told him "do you know I have 3 boys?" The feeling was incredible. It felt so real. Then I must have told my boys first, because ds1 told DH that I was having a girl, and then I showed dh the ultrasound pictures and you could clearly see the "hamburger" between the legs. Ever since I had my scan on Monday and the baby is on the left side (Ramzi says that means girl) I have had the thought in my head that there is a chance it could really be a girl, and I think that is where the dream came from. I am getting my hopes up so much here, I'm worried it'll be a big letdown if it does turn out to be a boy. Please, Ramzi, be right!

Wow, what a wonderful dream, wish it turns out to be true for you :) I also dreamt of having a girl tonight. When I dream of having the baby it's always a girl and I'm also so afraid of being so disappointed at my gender scan. When I think about it, I just start crying...I feel so stupid. Like just right now, just finished crying cause was reading about antinatal classes, labour and baby names on internet....Crazy Hormones!

Awe Jadis! It's just hormones making you feel overwhelmed... Seriously! I feel like being in bed all the time. I'm only eating rubbish, and feel yuk all the time. Snapping at the kids etc.. DH comes home from work and each day he asks how I am and I now want to lie because I'm sick of how whingey I sound, lol.
How many weeks/days are you now - get yourself a ticker!
Honestly when I am 12 wks, I better have a miraculous turn around and feel amazing for the rest of this pregnancy!!

Not sure why I 'liked' this, things sound horrible for you.
You sound like you are in need of medication, do not worry about taking it. I am on metoclopramide also, it is working better now I bumped up to x3 daily. I am struggling too, but have only vomited once.
Man I hope it eases off for you soon XX
That's ok maple, I didnt take it that you liked I was ill lol.... Just sympathised :) Sorry you are feeling ill too Hun. I went to the midwife yesterday and she reassured me that taking the medication was safer for the baby than letting myself be sick and dehydrated all the time. Made me feel loads better :)
Hope we all feel better soon.

So sorry 3boys you got so sick. Seems everyone is still feeling so sick here, me included. Don't feel guilty about the medicine or of feeling sick throughout this pregnancy, it's nobodys fault of course. Being sick all day long for entire weeks is just unbearable :( Hope everyone starts feeling a lot better within the coming weeks....we deserve it girls.
Thanks Hun, we all need a break don't we on this thread!! Hopefully as we all enter our second trimester we will magically all feel on top of the world! That's when the obsession with sex takes over in the 2nd trimester (less time puking more time nubsessing) ha ha ha

Thanks for the kind words of support, Maple. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one moping around feeling miserable. Welcome Andrea and Violet! Congrats to you both! Oh my goodness, ladies. I'm falling apart over here. The morning sickness is still hanging over me and my mood is out of control. All I do is argue with my DH and sit around and cry. I wanted to be pregnant but, now that I am, I'm terrified that I'll be overwhelmed by 3 kids. What if I can't manage once the baby's here? What if I'm actually a rotten mom? What if we're financially zapped forever because we had another baby? Bleh...just feeling so negative these days. I really hope these are just horomones messing with my head :(
Jadis I'm feeling ya! Because I am so sick, I haven't exactly been the best mum the last couple of weeks and all I keep thinking is well if I can't cope now how the hell am I going to cope when I have four of them! Had a few tears where I just felt so helpless, even cooking them a decent dinner makes me sick, we've nearly been late for school a few times as I have spent too long with my head down the toilet and it's getting to me. Poor DH gets it bad. I'm hard to live with at the mo.

Thanks ladies for the well wishes! After 2 days of sleep, rest and literally living on my couch as long as DS let me when DH wasn't home, I finally feel like its getting better today. Hopefully will be all cleared up tomorrow! I hope no one else gets these sicknesses that I have been getting :( feels horrible! And worse when pregnant lol! As second trimester is only 3 days away I hope my immune system magically beefs up lol!!!! I eat so many fruits and veggies plus my prenatal - this babe sure is taking alot out of me!
Glad you are feeling better :)

I wouldn't worry too much. To be honest my third was the easiest to adjust to having in the house. I thought it would be really hard when I was pregnant but after he was born it seemed the most natural. The hardest thing was just trying to go anywhere by myself with an infant, toddler, and preschooler. I always had to make sure I parked near the carts so I could grab one to put them in so we could get into the store without anyone getting lost.

I KNOW!! I'm getting so nervous lol I have been kinda checking in every now and then on the ladies due in march/april/may who are finding out and they don't seem to be having great luck over there :(
I just am SOOO hoping for a CLEAR 99.9% shot. I don't want to hear like "hmmmm LEANING boy/girl". I think no matter what I hear, I won't be 100% convinced until my 18-20 week scan anyway lol so going early is pointless really. But I want to try! Hehe!!

I'm kinda clueless on early gender determination. At the point you are going, will they be basing it on the nub? Or would they be able tell from a potty shot?

She said as long as baby is in a good position she should be able to get a potty shot! (She also recommend I make SURE I am drinking water cause at this stage clear amniotic fluid is an influence, so to make sure I am getting at least 4 glasses/day, which I usually drink probably 6). She is going to do it in 2D and in 3D! I have heard fabulous things about her so fingers crossed! :)

Hope i haven't missed much and everyone is ok
So sorry you were all so sick Mrs_P, hope you are all much better now. :hug2:

A little update on me girls. Had my scan today, so baby seems to be ok :) He's almost 5cm and doctor said he's measuring as at 11weeks 4 days, and I'm supposed to be 11weeks 5 days, but he said that's ok and nothing to worry about. All measurements he took seem to be ok. Heartbeat was 160b/m. Hubby asked him about gender and he didn't even try to check, he said it's too early for that. I couldn't see a nub either. I only got two pics cause while he was printing another two, the printing paper roll finished and they got stuck in the machine :( and actually the last two seemed to be the best two shots. I tried to scan them but honestly don't know how to do it, hubby is not here now cause he had a football match after doctor's visit, but will ask him to scan them when he's back or tomorrow morning as it will be late. I'll post them for you to see but there's no visible nub :( and photos are not very clear either.
It was very exciting though seeing our little one move for the first time. He kicked and at one time even turned around and gave us his back, how rude of him lol :) I'm so happy I finally saw him again :) I sometimes didn't believe he was really inside me. The more I looked at the screen and at the photos, the more I think it's a boy. He doesn't seem to have that dainty skull if you know what I mean :) So I guess it's a boy for us. I'll probably know in 4weeks time....can't wait till it comes!

Welcome, Andrea and Violet! Congrats on your BFP's! Wishing you a H&H 9 months! :)
Glad to hear everyone else is doing pretty well! Still hoping all of our nausea/morning sickness/fatigue will go away soon! The second trimester is right around the corner for many of us - I can't believe how fast that's coming up!
Oh, and I hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving! We told our families the news yesterday, and everyone was SO shocked, LOL! It was a lot of fun. ;)
Well, that's all I can bear to write for right now...suffering from my daily splitting headache at the moment. :( This is getting so old. My head feels like it's splitting open every.single.night. from about 6pm/7pm until I go to bed. It's hard to fall asleep with such a painful headache too. I've never experienced this in pregnancy before. Thankfully, the nausea has eased up a tiny bit for me, but the headaches are just terrible. Praying this phase passes soon...

Pearl, thanks lets hope at 12 weeks the scan goes well and we get a clear nub shut lol this waiting is drives me :hair: lol,
Think I might even have an 7 or 8 weeks scan (Monday im going to GP he usually refer me to have early scan) So will post pics for Ramzi guesses :suprise:
Jadis, im feeling exact same with you :worry: I have 2 boys who are still babys too 1.5 and 2.5, and sometimes i think how on earth am i going to coop when newborn arrives... sometimes find it hard now with my 2 boys. But I think its just hormones playing tricks with us!! That makes us stronger!! For your kids you are and you will be the best mum ever!!! :awe:
Dreamingpink, Glad ur scan went well!! How exciting!! But dont give up on your girl, she could be still in there.. there is nothing that indicates on the pics that is a boy. But 4 weeks is not long now!! Hope you here that magic word :hugs:
Im suffering from headaches every day and stuffy nose too, but nothing major, so so far so good.. No morning sickness just yet but it could change i know as im "only" 5 weeks. Had no morning sickness at all with my 2 DS, so not really know how bad it could be, but to be honest I wouldnt mind having it if its for my little princess lol just would be another different thing in pregnancy that would make me think it could be my babygirl in there

Awww dreaming, I got your message! My scan went well, I was blessed to have a sweet tech that gave me that 3d/4d look, so I did get a few pics and the whole thing on DVD. She was content holding her hands over and partially covering her face. The tech kept trying to get her but she was not letting us see it fully. I did take a pic with our camera and make it my avatar for now. She has moved up sadly so it was my last look at her but that's okay. I feel that the Lord really blessed me so I could have a few scans with my DD and last pregnancy!
I'm glad you got a scan but that's too bad the machine couldn't print out some of your pics. It's okay though, maybe it's better not to have to nubsess for now. Looking back with me, I'm actually glad that I had no clues and it made the surprise more special when it was time for the gender scan. It's good to accept that baby could be a boy, but at the same time.. it's all up in the air IMO. I'm excited for your next scan! Remind me when it is? I'm looking forward to it! :)

Wow, Butterfly, glad everything went well and that's a cute little pic of your little one. At least you managed to get your 3D/4D on dvd, now you can watch it over and over again :) I'll try to ask for one for my next scan. It's on 21st December, so close to Christmas. I'm counting the days. I'm trying hard to accept the thought that's it's probably a boy and I'm a bit angry at myself and hubby cause we can't decide on a name yet and I so much want to know the name before my next scan is due. I keep saying I want Carl and he wants any other name practically but that. Maybe we'll go for Eric or Daniel instead.

Thanks! That's my fave pic of her, hopefully I can get to the office supply store to scan them in full quality soon.
If it's an insurance paid for scan, they should do it! They did it with my DS at 19 weeks and I didn't even have to ask.
If your little bean is indeed a little boy then I will bet that your little man would LOVE a baby brother!!! Boys are amazing...especially in pairs. It's just something you have to experience yourself! ;)
I wouldn't be mad at yourself, didn't you have a great sway? Maybe he would be one of those babies that saw how fun your family was and just had to be a part of it!
Both of those names are cute though.... Eric Daniel sounds good together! :)
And I will be very excited to have one more reason for Christmas to get here quickly! ;)

Ladies, is second trimester 12 weeks or 13 weeks?
I thought it was 13 weeks and that's also what my ticker says but my pregnancy phone app tells me I'm already in the second trimester? HM! Well last night I decided not to take my diclectin before bed (my nausea comes at about 8pm and I have trouble sleeping so I have been taking just 1 at 7:30 each night) to see if my nausea will subside on it's own and I fell asleep pretty easily so I guess it's almost done! Still had a bit of an upset tummy but DH rubbed my back and I fell right asleep. Waking up was a lot easier too! It's a good morning - DS is in a fab mood, I feel good and the first snow fall came over night so it's nice to see a white yard! :)

The weird thing is, we are getting girls, it's just not people who were posting in the due date threads. Some of the custom sway plan people and a few others who don't post much. I think it's just an unfortunate coincidence. :(

Hi ladies,
I saw my midwife on Friday, she suggested when I get up at night (I'm up several times, goodness knows why my bladder can't be squashed yet) that I eat something small ie cracker/biscuit.. I have done this for the last 2 nights and have felt sooo much better in terms of MS in the morning. Really helps!
Can someone fill me in on the OWT and what they are/mean.. Scull theory and placental location etc??
Thanks ladies! XX

I'm glad your MS has been better!
I don't know anything about skull theory, but I do know the Ramzi theory says placenta on the right = boy and on the left = girl. So if you have a transvaginal u/s, if you hold up the picture to your tummy, you read it just as it is.

Can I ask some advice? With my older children I had VERY bad morning sickness! To a point of being completely unable to do anything. Sick all day and all night. Could not understand how anyone could function normally while pregnant etc. Well this time around, I'm slightly nauseas at times, I am more tired but that's it. I know it's early days, but with the other kids, the sickness kicked in from the very beginning.
This seems so completely different. (And a nice surprise) Could it be a different gender? Anyone have different pregnancies that were different genders? Also, should I be worried? Not strong morning sickness (well, I usually get 24/7 severe, sickness), should I be concerned? Pregnancy tests are all stronger, lines are now very dark, doctor thinks all is fine. I mentioned it to him. He said, could be a different gender? Unless you start bleeding, I don't think there are any concerns was his advice.

Mine have all gotten progressively worse and ms started really early on, this time its been a lot less than ds3, tiredness but not much sickness and if i do its in the evenings or night time but not much at all. Baby is fine though (or at least it was a couple of weeks ago) what bit i have got didn't start til nearly seven weeks either (again unusual for me)

How does everyone go off of the diet? I ate in between meals today. Felt so strange!
Also glad to see some moms on here with three boys. Mine are 5, 2 1/2 and 9 months. I think it's going to be great to have a playmate for ds 3 since ds 1 and ds 2 are super close! I would love a dd but mainly a healthy baby!

I took my last scan hard and cried a lot would hate to have done that in front of the kids. Maybe you could book an elective scan just for them after so they can 'meet' the baby. Some nhs places (the one by us particuarly) are funny about kids going in for scans to especially as you'd be going on mass. Lets hope they don't twig from liams t-shirt in the mean time LOL

Only one for me, i had a scan a couple of weeks ago as i was having really bad cramping pains on my left hand side, they eased after about 5-6 weeks but were worrying me so i went to gp at 7 weeks and he sent me for a scan, only one measured about 6 weeks and i was 7 plus 3 i think but it had a good regular heart beat (which ds2 didn't have a 6 weeks you couldn't see a baby).
You never know yours could be especially after a couple of months on clomid but if so odds are at least one is a girl x

Yay! More BFP's! I love how this group is growing! I pray that we all get our DG's! ;)
cvd, I saw you ask a question a couple pages back about the second trimester. I know lots of online places/apps count it differently, but the way that I've seen it that makes the most sense to me is to take the entire length of pregnancy, and divide it by 3 (for 3 trimesters). This means that the first trimester ends at 13 weeks 3 days. However, I've always felt that 13 weeks even was close enough, so once I reach 13 weeks, I usually tell people who ask that I'm in the second trimester. Hope that helps!

i think i've seen somewhere that they sell a divider for the cot for twins so they can sleep in the same, it goes in the middle so they both go feet at the end and heads towards the divide - maybe that would be the answer if it is twins so they could share the same cot but be safely separate

i've seen a cot divider for twins so they sleep one each end safely but still in the same cot which is cute and would solve space issues if it is twins

I did see that!! I know, I am so hopeful for at least one little girl. Twin girls would be such a dream come true, I would LOVE to have two boys and two girls, I would love that family makeup. BUT, if there's only one girl in there, I will very happily take that, too! Just really scared of the possibility of having two more boys. Anyway, I can't wait to find out for sure - I'm crazy nervous, but really anxious to know. My NT scan is in 9 days. Sooo nervous...

YES, me too! I've been super nervous this pregnancy, worrying about something going wrong. I'll feel so much better once I reach the second trimester. Then it will be worrying about pre-term labor, a worry I've never had before but is a real possibility with twins. I guess the worrying never truly ends, LOL!

You have the Britax too?? Ah that's great! I've heard absolutely nothing but excellent things about it and similar to you, these babes will be 23 months apart so we sure plan on using it a lot!
When do you usually go into labour with twins, do you know?? I think on that TLC baby story I seem to watch everyday on tv, they seem to go around 34-36 weeks? Ou I wonder what it'll feel like when they start to kick!! How exciting!

sorry i never cut sodium- i didn't salt my food but still was hitting way above the limits just eating reg.
I think you are in the clear though becasue you are over 2 weeks right?
only supps I did were folic acid and will be cutting that soon too since I get all mine from food sources. I have never taken prenatlas while prego they just don't agree w/ me and food sources are absorbed by body better anyway.
def. need to get away from the le diet and start upping that protein and fat for the baby:) just start going back to eating good food:) how long were you on diet? i only didi it for 5-6 weeks so maybe that's why it's so easy for me to go back to shoveling my face lol.

That sounds funny - the odds are against us not the ladies on the thread they are all lovely. The due date group before us have a lot of opposites are barely any successes which is shame as i started off with these girls and they all had amazing sways (its different from reading it, living it with them they were so strict) but so many of them have heard blue and with such admirable grace as well i must say. I mean't with odds like that in general and three boys to begin with (we must be hardwired blue) doesn't seem i (or we) stand much chance. Hopefully we can turn things around

sorry i never cut sodium- i didn't salt my food but still was hitting way above the limits just eating reg.
Just to say please don't cut folic acid just yet, its important you keep the dose up til you are 12 weeks then you can wean off it slowly :prof: thats my Atomic head as told by the fair lady herself x

Yeah i've got that to, its really thick and sticky and i keep worrying maybe things are dislodging and i'm miscarrying but nothing happens, no pain but occassionally there is a little blood streak in it (sorry tmi ladies) but not like period more like that from a scratch.
Other weird thing for me is my cervix hasn't risen (not that i have been poking it or anything)

HELLO SECOND TRIMESTER!!!!!! :) :) :) :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
I am so excited to finally be over the first trimester, mostly for the steep decline in miscarriage rates lol. I stopped taking my diclectin at bedtime a couple nights ago but my tummy was super upset last night so I ended up going down to get 1. Hoping that was my last bit of nausea saying bye to us :) I won't be taking anymore hehe!

Yay cvd :) Glad you are feeling better. I think 2nd trimester starts at week 13 but not 100%sure. I'm also starting to feel nausea is better but still very very gassy. And I think I'm a little less tired too. On my last scan last Friday, doctor told me to stop taking folic acid for 3 days cause it might also be the culprit of nausea. He said if when you stop it, you still have nausea, take them for another two weeks, but if you feel better without them, stop them. He said the important thing is that we take them before getting pregnant and till about 12 weeks. I stopped as he said and I am feeling better so I'm not taking them anymore.

Hopefully that is a good sign for your girl 3boys. I used to have to force myself to eat breakfast when pregnant with DD. This time around I am actually eating for 2 already. I cannot keep myself fed. I have a cereal bar and juice straight away when I get up then I have my proper breakfast in work at 8:30 as normal. (I only get up at 7:30 so not like it is a long wait)

Really???? I had no idea!!! I've actually been pretty shotty with taking the extra folic acid lately. I take my prenatal vitamin like clockwork with breaky everyday but I was taking folic acid after dinner and over the last couple weeks I have been forgetting every now and then - maybe I have the pregnancy mush brain LOL! It's hard to tell when I was taking diclectin if nausea still really affects me. I took folic acid today but I'm going to stop now since I am through the first trimester so I will see if that helps! Thanks for the info! That's awesome!
& now that I think about it makes TOTAL sense. I only get nausea at nighttime, and I was taking folic acid after dinner. I think that may have been the culprit!

On the subject of all this extra cm, I look at the weekly preg calendars each Monday when I start a new week and this weeks said that the body produces all that extra cm to keep infections and bacteria away! Your theory sounds awesome, but unfortunately, I don't think it actually works that way. The way I see it, I most likely released two eggs, and each egg had a 50/50 chance of being fertilized by either an X or Y sperm. It would be awesome to think that I'd have a 75% chance of having a girl, like you suggest, but I don't think that's correct. However, I'm no good at statistics, so what do I know?! LOL! ;)
I have my NT scan next Monday (just one week from today, whoo hoo!), so hopefully I'll have some good pics where we can obsess over nubs. :p I'm absolutely dying to find out what I'm having, especially now that it's getting so close.

Not that I wouldnt love a baby of any gender its just that this is definitely last chance saloon for us and its quite scary knowing you may never get what your heart most desires. I also keep checking my boobs and keep thinking the left one is marginally bigger than the right which would mean boy. I think I can honestly say I am going insane! I know what you mean about not being able to imagine ever having a daughter because I feel the exact same way. I know to some it comes so easily but for us it just feels like we are programmed that way. Which I'm sure isn't true and we have just as much chance!!!
I am dreading my ultrasound on the 6th as I know I will be nubsessing and I just want to be in denial for a tad longer. I know as soon as the sonographer touches my belly I will see a sticky out boy nub as clear as day!

So sorry you are feeling like this hun :( I very much understand you. I think we all have sad days where everything seems to be wrong. You are not alone and pregnancy hormones don't help at all. If this makes you feel better, I was in a miserable condition yesterday too. Like you, couldn't sleep during the night. I'm very much convinced I'm having a boy and this is the last baby for us too. I'm afraid that gender disappointment will be much worse than I thought I could handle. I'm already crying so much cause I want a girl so badly and I'm feeling very guilty of feeling this way. Sometimes I feel I don't deserve this baby cause it is so unfair of me to want a girl so badly if I'm carrying a boy. I even told hubby at one point this week to adopt a girl. I too am feeling I'm going insane dear. I try to be positive but I'm finding it quite hard. Sorry, I should be giving you words of support not spilling my sorrows over here. But wanted to assure you that you are not alone sweetie. Let's pray we will be able to accept whatever intentions God has for us. Hope you will be feeling better soon.
By the way, I don't think boop size matters much which gender you are having :)

Thank you for your kind words and sorry you are feeling down too - I keep hoping and praying we will all get the genders we so desire - that would just be fantastic. I have to keep reminding myself how fantastic ds3 is and I had awful gd with him from 12 to 20 weeks pregnant but he is absolutely amazing as are my other two too and couldn't imagine life without them but it doesn't always help!!! It's so lovely we can all help each other as not many people would understand x

Just read this post....did your dr tell you that you were having a girl when you had ds and then you had your son? I mean, did he do a mistake?
I got told at 12 weeks 75% girl but the tech is so great I just took it as gospel, then at 20 weeks they said they were inclined to agree was a girl as they couldn't see anything. I found out at birth he was a boy. I hadn't bought pink as I am really superstitious and didn't want to jinx anything. I bonded straight away but I did cry for about 3-4 weeks after and the midwives were really worried about me and I never want to experience that low feeling again ever and I would wish no one else had to experience it either. I couldn't stop grinning when they told me girl though - was a lovely feeling. Not finding out at 12 weeks this time!!!!

sorry they even made a guess at 12 weeks:( that's horrible to be told girl at 20 when they didn't actually see. sorry you had to go through all that:( my friend got told girl at 16 weeks and then boy at 20. think she had several us though since she was hr so it was confirmed. are you going to find out at all this time??

Yes I will find out - not sure if will do gender scan or just wait for 20 week scan. Was your friend ok? Did she want a particular gender?

My friend didn't want to know the sex of her baby but her mum was desperate to know. She told her mum that the sonographer could tell her the sex of the baby as long as it was kept a secret from her and the dad. Well it was a good job as they told the mum it was a girl and it was indeed a little boy. It happens this way round far too often. Even if I was told girl at a scan I wouldn't be able to fully believe it until the birth.

One last dream I sooooo want you to have a girl huni. I know it's easy to say that to people in real life and in ya head secretly think 'why should you get one when I can't' (maybe im just evil ha ha ha). But it's different on here. I feel all the pain and worry and doubt as if it were my own. I genuinely pray you get your little girl, I hope we all do. I know how magical it would be for all of us!!!

This will make you all laugh hopefully!!!! When I was told ds2 was a girl at the 12 week scan he said he was able to tell through the nub but I understood it that certain bones grow differently in boys and girls which determined their gender and he was looking at these bones - which I thought grew through the body!!!! For about the first 6 months to year of ds2's life I was distraught as I thought he was actually a girl trapped in a boys body and would have to deal with it later in life and go through trauma because of it!!!! I was so naive and had no idea of the nub theory!!!! I have no problem at all with any choices my babies decide to make later in life and if they decide to be gay then as long as they are happy and still love their mummy I really don't mind (although would like T least one grand child!!!) but I just thought he was going to have to fight to get the body he really needed and would be totally mis understood!!!! I really am very silly sometimes!!!

My DS2 is very in touch with his femine side, one Christmas he was obsessed with Beauty and the Beast and wanted a belle doll from the Disney shop. I brought him one, didn't see any harm in it. I don't think he's gay though (wouldn't mind if he was) because six months later he kept taking her dress off and having what he called naked picnics with his other toys lol.

I don't think that normally happens and I would want a complete open legged shot from both sides and upside down too now to believe it lol!!!!! They told me 75% so wasn't guaranteed - would want 110% if ever got to hear it again!!!! I need to find out to get my head around the boy bit as I want to get over any upset I have before the baby is in my arms but everyone deals with it differently. I just assume I will hear boy and need to get used to it. It doesn't really enter my head it may be another outcome!!!! Hi guys - am feeling really down today - has anyone else had days like that? Been awake for what seems like forever since DS2 came in as he couldnt sleep at 5am. Just laying there worrying about money and bills and how we will cope and oh god what are we doing! I also keep thinking I cant imagine me having a pink bean as it just seems so impossible. Its raining here which doesnt help!!! I hate feeling like this - I prefer feeling happy. Sorry for the miserable post. I hope everyone else is having a much better day xx
Me too! DS2 was awake at 5.30 this morning and the thought of facing the day that early nearly made me cry. I feel so sick, and cant wait for the MS to stop. Then I ate some really naughty foods at 11 am and felt horrible. I feel really bored because I dont have the energy to do much, so dread the day time... I need some energy!
Im sure this will pass for us though... Hope tomorrow is a much better day! XX

Love reading through this thread girls. Well, I know I said I wasn't having any sickness, that all changed! The last 3 days have been so hard. I've been so sick and very very full on fatigue. With three young children and the school run for my oldest I'm not getting much rest. Feel very overwhelmed and have had some big melt downs today. Had to call a girlfriend and have a good sook, now I feel a little better emotionally. Just so scared of everything being okay after last month's chemical. And feel like I've taken too much on having another baby with three kids already. But I know it will pass and I will adapt and everything will be fine.

Yes, I had ms all the way through with all my babies. So doubt that it indicates more likely to have a girl. It's just turning into the same sickness I had with my boys so looks like it's more likely a boy. Have no problems making them in our house.

Oh yeah, definately. Hubby already asked gynae if he could tell us the sex at our last us, which was last week, I was 11wks 5days. The gynae said it's def too early. Now we have another visit on the 21st December, I'll be 15wks5days and I'm really hoping he'll be able to tell us gender and that little one will co-operate and lets us see his 'private' part :) When I was pregnant with my son, I was about 24weeks I think when I found out cause gynae always said he didn't let him see it. This time, I'm going to a different gynae and his ultrasound machine seems more sophisticated. I'm so anxious yet afraid to go for my visit, it's so much close to christmas that I'm afraid I'm gonna spend xmas feeling miserable :( Plus we're all be getting together at my mil on christmas for lunch and I'm already expecting some comments like...oh, it's another boy....and I'll probably be screaming inside!

I'm desperate to know. But I'm going to book an appointment for about the second week in January. I'm a little behind you. I know people will be going on about the gender over Christmas and at least this way I can genuinely say I don't know. I have a feeling though that I will have a rough idea next week as I will def be looking for a nub. If they offer to guess I will say yes but generally they dont at my local hospital. Every time I have had an ultrasound he has looked like a boy to me (not based on any theory just looked male ha ha ha). At least once I know I can try and get over it. I hate the not knowing.
If we are both miserable over Christmas.... We can't even drown our sorrows with alcohol! :( lol I'm going to be raiding the kids selection boxes instead ;)

Well ladies, I'm having to cancel my early gender scan. DH's company (he works in welding) is so busy & has put him on 12 hours days for a few weeks so he can't have the day off anymore. So we are just going to wait until the 18 week scan on Jan 3rd! I'm a touch disappointed but with such a huge difference in accuracy rates it may be for the best. So now I'm counting down till January 3rd hehe! It's still not that far away. I will be 18+3!

Hope you start to feel much better soon x

Well the heartburn kicked in this week. It was my constant frienemy from about 20 weeks last time so I hope it is not here to stay this early. I have already joked with DH that I must be carrying Pat Mustards baby :)
Oh no poor you - I had heartburn with ds3 - not that early though!!!! Even though it was horrid I was excited to know I was having a baby with hair though!!! I normally have bald babies!!!

Well it seems that we are all going through the same things...overproducing vaginas, nausea and or vomiting, gender disappointment thoughts and fears, exhaustion, and being woken up by our kids at ungodly times of the morning, lol. On top of that I also have excessive saliva that is driving me crazy! So I have a friend who is about 5 weeks ahead of me and she SWEARS she is having a girl. She probably is  Anyway...she did the needle on a string test a few days ago and it circled for her and the first time it circled for me. Well she did it again and it circled for her and did the pendulum for me. So everyone has recently found out about my pregnancy and they are saying I will have a girl. She keeps putting my fire out by saying we did the string test and it said girl for her and boy for me. I just hate that she keeps dashing my hopes and I really don't have much to begin with :tissue: Should I say anything or just forget it happened?

LOL. My DS3 is REALLY hairy, he has it all up his back which is strange because my DH isn't hairy and I can assure you it's not me!
I didn't get more heartburn with him though so don't panic!

Hi praying, was wondering if you were ok.
If you're feeling brave: Tell her that the ring test is a load of rubbish and you've got just as much chance of a girl as her and any other. On the other hand: And probably what I would do is just hold my tongue and let her say what she wants (secretly praying you can pove her wrong) but then I am not a very confrontational person. Chin up luv. People are so insensitive when it comes to gender she probably has no idea how much she is upsetting you x

I've just had a thought. Tell her she has to go pee on some cabbage for the red cabbage test. There is a 50 50 chance it will say boy as it has no science behind it and in my opinion the most useless of the old wive tales. Then you can keep mentioning that she must be having a boy whenever she mentions your ring test result. A bit harsh perhaps ;)

3boys...I love it, lol. Yeah I didn't say anything to her at work today. I don't think I mentioned that we work together. But I'm kind of over it now. I think I felt that she was saying it because she felt she had more of a chance for a girl than me. Yes I'm doing ok 3boys. I have just been so tired and queasy. Plus I'm in school so I haven't been around much but I have been following you ladies. How have you been dear?

I have only told my family yet and they all have already written off any chance of me having a girl and my SIL has even said
"I know I shouldn't say this but it would be really lovely if you have a boy but you probably won't though"
This same SIL is currently 36 weeks pregnant, doesn't know what she is having but is convinced that it is a boy, even to the point of saying that if a girl comes out she won't believe that it is hers, And I think that there is a really good chance that she will have a girl. She got pregnant 6 weeks after a miscarriage at 10 weeks, She is over weight and went on a strict diet after the miscarriage and lost 10lb, and was on the diet until she was 6 weeks pregnant (when she found out). Her and her DH both guzzle the diet coke like it is going out of fashion, she doesn't eat any dairy or dairy substitutes. But in spite of all this she will probably still get the son she dreams of.
And by the way the ring test told me that DD was a boy. In fact all the old wives tales of pregnancy told me that DD was a boy.
And in regards to the heartburn my DD was born with loads of jet black hair, about 4 inches long. She is a blondie now though, and I had the heartburn for 1/2 the pregnancy with her. I carried a bottle of gaviscon advanced around with me the whole time.

So sorry you had to cancel your scan. Well actually at 18weeks they'll definately be more accurate :)

Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad Mum23boys.
I know that paracetamol is safe then maybe have some warm water with lemon juice, ginger and honey for a comforting drink. Hope you feel better soon

Praying, I'm good thanks Hun. My MS has got so much better since I've been on the anti nausea tablets. I have my NT scan in a weeks time which I am very excited about, just praying that babe is ok.
Mom23 sorry to hear you are ill. Hope you feel better soon.
Pearl one of my best friends who had one girl already fell pregnant and was convinced she was having a little boy. She drank diet coke what seemed like all day and lost weight near to conceiving and she was slimming for her wedding. She had a boy!!! Go figure!! It's not fair how some people just manage a pigeon pair so easily. She keeps saying to me, you should totally have a girl next! I mean yeah right as if I can choose (why have I not thought of this sooner).
Afm I've got the cold from hell and feeling very sorry for myself. I have so much housework and no motivation to get off my bum and do it.

Yeah that's my thoughts too CVD. We are finding out in January and I keep thinking at least December will go really quick. If you've got to wait a month, it's the best month for distraction.
