is 9 weeks 6 days too early to interpret forked raised nub as boy??? i am totally freaking out after this mornings ultrasound. it looks like a fork but pointing upwards (which i am from reading around here that means boy). are all my girl hopes out the window at this very early stage?! was planning on waiting a long time before finding out gender so i wouldn't spend the majority of the pregnancy disappointed and now i am somehow convinced this is another boy! As much as I try to see the positives I feel GD is going to be inevitable again. Best of luck 3 boys....bring us some happy news!

Heidi, it's waaaaaay too early. Nub theory (which isn't 100% accurate) doesn't come into play until at least 12 weeks gestation. Just enjoy your pregnancy for now and put whatever you saw right out of your head (ha! I know that's easier said than done), it's just too early.

Thanks Jadis...I know I shouldn't be worrying but i really wanted to enjoying another few weeks in ignorant bliss before finding out. The problem nowadays is the US machines are so good we can see things as quickly as the dr.s do! I really do think I do too much internet reading though too! Deep breaths and try and forget what I think I might have seen! Thanks again....

I dont think they rise at that age babe, so hopefully it was something else. I swear at my ultrasound I saw a sticky up nub but I was 12 weeks 0 days...Still people are saying to me it's still early. We will see on my account but as for you.... You still have hope I'm sure of it :) too early for boy nubs :)

Awww, thanks girls for all the congrats and sweet messages. :) You are all so wonderful, and I'm so happy to be able to celebrate with you awesome group of ladies. I pray with all my heart that we have a lucky and blessed group who all get their DG's! :awe:
EmmyRoo, CONGRATS on the BFP!! And welcome to the group, we're so glad to have you here! ;)
Dreamingpink, I wouldn't worry one bit about heart rate indicating gender. I think it's just an OWT. I've heard of many women who this theory has been correct for, and just as many who it HASN'T. And FWIW, my babies' heart rates were both very high from the beginning (179 and 164, or something like that), and as they've grown, they've gotten a bit lower AND have kind of stabilized at around the same rate (160). Don't worry yourself over anything that's not proven. I'm still hoping and praying you've got a healthy pink bean in there! ;)
Thanks sweetie, really hope to hear pink :) 11more days for scan!

December 10th, 2012, 10:47 AM
Yeah my heart rate was really high and Im sure I saw a boy nub yesterday! The more I think about it the more I'm convinced. Caved and booked a gender scan for Monday (the one I was talking about with DR Penman who does gender guesses based on nub). I'm nervous but would rather know for sure so I can get over it!
I will know in 3 days..... Scary scary ay girls.
Oh my God! So scan is today! any news hun? I need to read the posts soon to see if you posted anything else :)

Ahh, 3boys, I just saw this post! I noticed you are already gone to your appt. I hope everything went well !! No matter what the gender, you are truely blessed to have another child !! Don't you worry about coming on here to vent! we are here for you!
I know that for me this is the only place I can come on pour my heart out about my GD and not have a single person criticize me for it. I have been so depressed this past weekend. people make weird comments about how hopefully in the future I will have a girl...b/c I already have too many boys! (wtf?).
nobody knows that I'm pregnant..and I don't plan on telling anyone until im showing b/c I really want to avoid all the negative comments I will get from family AND IRL friends! its just so sad:(.

oh 3 boys i am so sorry. i totally understand your disappointment. I too am slowly resigning myself to the fact...really have a gut instinct a 3rd boy is on the way. Just try and imagine all disappointment will go away when you see him live for the first time. I guess there is not much to say to make you feel better. Big hugs and thinking of you. ps isnt 12 weeks 4 days too early to find out or are you further along ?? Sorry to be so nosey but that early I would have thought its harder to be sure and that perhaps you could still get your girl ( not trying to give u false hope ) but it does seem very early to be getting such a definate answer ?

December 10th, 2012, 04:39 PM
Congrats 3Boys but 12 weeks does seem a little early for a gender scan, most places won't do it until 15 weeks and the nub theory is only about 70% ish accurate. With your great sway as well i wouldn't give up just yet (not that i'm one to talk i know)

3boys I am so sorry babe! I know that your heart really desires a little girl and that must be super hard to deal with the feelings that you have now that you have heard that it is in fact another boy. I am sure that he will be such a special kid and that you are going to be an AMAZING mom to that little fella. It still hurts though and for that I am sending you HUGE HUGS!! :bighug: And just for the record...not that I am insinuating anything but I have a coworker who they told was having a boy because they looked at the nub at around this time or maybe even later. Well when they went in at 20 weeks..guess what. They were returning all of the boy clothes they purchased because boy oh boy it was a girl. IJS honey. Keep hope alive...at least for now

Thank you all so much for such lovely comments and support. I honestly don't know what I would do without you. The doctor told me he was 95% sure it was a male foetus, he even wrote it on my report. I have lots of pictures and the nub sticks straight up in the air. This man is very good and specialises in sexing early so I have no reaso to doubt him. I will post a picture tomorrow. Right now my eyes are puffy from crying (I feel awful for being so upset) and I need to sleep. xxx

Awww 3boys that makes me so sad that you are feeling so down but you know what honey...you should not feel awful for being upset. You know we are human and we have feelings for a reason. Honestly I think anyone would be just a bit disappointed after having 3 of any gender to find out they were having a fourth of the same gender. And yes we can say that we are thrilled that the baby is healthy and blessed to even be able to have another (in my case especially) but we still have those disappointing feelings. So take all the time you need to come to terms with the news and when you are ready to post your pictures we will be right here waiting! Hugs and Kisses!

3boys, please don't beat yourself up for how you're feeling. You're dealing with enough right now without being unkind to yourself. Any one of us in your shoes would feel the same way, and you'd be nothing but supportive. I think all of us were collectively holding our breath today and crossing our fingers for you, sorry you didn't hear what you were so hoping for. When you're able to, I bet we'd all love to ooooooh and aaaaahhhh over your gorgeous new baby. Thinking of you while you work through your feelings.

3boys, please be easy on yourself, and don't be upset with yourself for being upset (if that makes any sense). Give yourself permission to be sad and cry and let it out. I know you will love your new little man with all your heart, but I definitely understand how you are feeling right now. *Big hugs!*

Had my 15 week doctor's appt today. Finally got the hear the heart beat for the first time. As soon as she touched the doppler to my tummy she found it lol that is why I can feel baby so early she said! She's popped right out!!! The heart beat was 147. So crossing fingers that OWT is super debunked ;) haha. So I have the 3D ultrasound Jan 3rd at 18+3, then Jan 10th my regular hospital scan at 19+3 so hopefully both techs say the same gender!! Hope everyone else is feeling well and doing great!

I'm still very sick. Can get in to see my doctor until tomorrow morning. Seems they are very booked out due to Christmas. I just lay in the fetal position most of every day and cry and hug my toddler with him watching cartoons to keep him busy or he potters around the house because I have no energy to do anything with him and am too sick. My big boys come home tonight after spending time with relatives over the holidays and then they will want me to do all kinds of thing (active) with them and I won't be able to. Poor kids.

Ha, that is an odd one, a little disturbing!
I was gazing at our fruit bowl this morning at breakfast and remembered I had a dream we had an orange tree in our garden... That's as crazy as mine are getting currently! However I did wake up the night before thinking I heard someone at the door, might have been a dream..

Im Due the very end of May!
3boys sorry about your scan :(. I don't want to give false hope but my peri kept telling me it was a boy at my nt scan (despite the tech who did not agree ) and I had friends who told me that specific peri is always right. Anyway, he was wrong. But again I don't know your drs background.. I know despite my peris insistence he did admit that nub theory even with clear nubs was only 80% accurate
my gut instinct has also been wrong all 4 times. I was sure ds1 was a girl same with ds2. By three I was sure I couldn't make girls and it was a girl. And this time I told the tech I know it's a boy and I was wrong .. Again!!

The way I see it (and I am sure another lady wrote this as well) is that any of us are not sad about the boy we are having but the girl we may never have. This is something you are allowed to feel. We are all thinking of you....

I'm so sorry you didn't hear girl 3 boys, I think the other girls have said it all - there is no need to feel guilty about how you feel, it is a natural emotion and something you are entitled too. Take time to process the news and be kind to yourself. So happy for you Sunflower, that's great news :) I had my first ultrasound at 6weeks cause I had some spotting and gynae couldn't find heartbeat yet, it was too small. She tried and tried and finally we saw a dot on the monitor which seemed to be going on and off and we assumed it was the heartbeat but we were not 100% sure. I wouldn't worry that much at this stage cause it is very very early. I hope your babies will both be fine and you'll have the gender of your dreams :)

Thinking of you 3boys, I know it's too early but I'm just hoping you feel slightly better than yesterday. I keep thinking about you today and of how upset you might be feeling as I'm seeing myself in that same situation in a few day's time and I know I'm gonna feel miserable. There are times when I feel ok about having a boy, other times I just feel miserable and start crying. I guess we just had to let it all out. I feel so bad for all of us with GD. Praying you will be fine very soon dear! :hug2:

I know what you mean. I feel so certain that I'm carrying our 3rd boy, and somedays I feel remarkably ok about it. Other days, I'm a total mess. I go between wanting to know the gender so I can just put the miserable suspense behind me and move on with my new son, and wanting to hang onto whatever tiny shred of hope I have floating around the back of my mind. I'm really thankful for this virtual space where I can fiind other women who understand EXACTLY how I feel and won't judge me for it. There's really no-one in my real life that can offer me the same support...not even my DH. He just doesn't get how badly I ache for a daughter. I've even thought of slipping off by myself to have an elective gender scan without him...I don't want to have to pull myself together for his benefit when we find out. Sometimes I think I want to find out all alone so I can just be a mess for a bit. Maybe take a day off work, get the scan alone in the morning, spend the afternoon by myself eating and crying and painting my nails.

Hi ladies! I just found out that I'm having identical twins!!!!! I'm still in shock!
Baby A is measuring 5 weeks 6 days. We saw a heart beat! Baby B is smaller. We did not see a heartbeat but we are hoping it's just too early to see the heartbeat. I'm praying the babies are ok. My due date changed to 8/6/2013. Please pray for my babies!
Congrats Sunflower3! What a nice surprise!

Wow! Huge congratulations! What a shock! And about baby b's heartbeat - with this pregnancy I had a scan where I was measuring 5 weeks 5 days, and they couldn't see a heartbeat, but at 7 weeks, they did.

Wow, this group moves really fast! I haven't been on in about a day or so, and there's sooo many posts I need to go back and read already! ;)
3boys - I am so sorry that you didn't hear pink. How far along are you now? It's very possible that you still have a girl in there, if it's still really early! Either way though, we are all here for you. My heart goes out to you, and I hope you will be okay. Please know that we're all here for whatever you need. (((hugs))) to you...
cvd - That's so great that you got to hear the heartbeat!! Congrats to you!! :)
Sunflower - CONGRATS on the twins!! How exciting!! How were they able to tell that they're identical this early? Were they sharing an amniotic sac? Oh and don't worry about not seeing a hb on the second baby yet - 5w6d is still very, very early!

Sometimes I do, right now it seems I'm carving fruit and fresh watery food, like cold melon, cold fruit salad or cold strawberries and yes....popsicles are quite inviting. Actually I'm mostly craving lemon sorbet....I really would like some :)

Whoa Sunflower that is awesome news! Congrats honey. My bff is due any day now and she is having twin boys. One of her babies is 3 days behind so that is typical. I wouldn't worry too much as I am sure you will be seeing a specialist and have PLENTY of appointments. Next time you go you will surely see both of those babies hearts beating. So thrilled for you love.

jadis and dreamingpink I hear you!! I swing between wanting to know the gender right now and other times I think I might even wait until the baby arrives to try and avoid that terrible GD but then again I think being prepared would be better. I had my scan yesterday nearly 10 weeks and after studying the US I am convinced I see a upward facing forked nub and the skull is quite boyish not very rounded at the front. Also i have a low lying placenta which is the cause of the spotting i had around the 6th and 9th week which from reading around, seems to happen more often to mums carrying boys AND I had crazy itchy legs at the beginning, which I also read happens more often to women carrying boys....all in all hope is slowly dwindling and I am absolutely dreading my next scan in jan. I also talk mostly about my desire for a daughter here and also to two close friends otherwise no one else. I feel it is a totally under estimated thing and GD is really quite taboo...mostly people say...the main thing is the baby is healthy which is of course true and the sadness and disappointment is not about the son you are having but about the girl you might never have. There was a recent cause of an irish lady in ireland who had two sons and then got pregnant again and it turned out to be twin boys. She went missing in late pregnancy and was found....she had committed suicide and it transpired that she couldn't face the prospect of never having a daughter. Absolutely terrible and tragic story but GD can often be totally socially unacceptable and women are forced to suffer in silence for fear of being misunderstood or public retribution....thank God for this website!!!

Hi Sunflower, huge congrats on the babies. Twins are soooooo cute. Don't worry too much about the heart beat of baby b, i had a scan with my ds2 at 6 weeks and they couldn't find a heart beat then, they weren't at all bothered as they said he was just to early in gestation for it to be detected and he was fine

Hope everyone else is feeling well and doing great!
cvd that is so exciting that you were able to hear Aubree's heartbeat! Yeah I can tell you that the OWT is just that. When I went on Tuesday my baby's hr was 154 but the first time it was in the 160's. I think it has to do with what the bambino is doing at the time. January is going to come so fast. Can't wait!!!

Given Sunflower's adjusted due date, it appears she conceived later then originally though so her bfp was probably achieved a lot earlier then the 14dpo she thought it was. Would have been more like 8-9dpo by the sound of it.
But in saying that, given the fact that she has identical twins on board, she will probably deliver or have her babies much earlier then her EDD anyway. They tend to run out of room and can get their cords tangled etc. So her due date will probably be 4-6 weeks before her EDD anyway.
It's all very exciting!

Heidih, I too read about the poor lady who committed suicide as she was having twin boys. Such terrible news and so awful it would come to that. It made me cry. The other week I was so obsessed about the gender it was consuming me, pracitically crying already thinking it was a boy. I couldn't believe I was going through this already, at 5 weeks pg. Now I am feeling a lot better about it, I still really feel it is a boy and maybe I am coming to terms with it now, I don't know. I know it will be different though when I hear it for certain.

This is one of the reasons i wont be finding out - I would rather keep my hopes alive until the day comes and if its another boy i know when i see him he will melt my heart and iw ont care. I dont want to ruin my pregnancy by being upset that he is a boy so would rather hold on to that little bit of hope for as long as i can.

I found out with ds 3 and after doing what I thought was a good enough sway for a girl on ig I was devastated by the news! I don't blame you! I wasn't going to find out either this time but given the fact that its twins I may change my mind!

OMG! this is so terrible! Poor thing, she must have felt so lonely :( no one probably would have understood her pain. GD can be so bad and we all have to hide it from our closest loved ones. I speak openly with my hubby about wanting a daughter so much, but sometimes I'm afraid that he might feel that I'm selfish and he doesn't tell me so, so he doesn't upset me. I know he wants girl too,but definately not as much as I want.

Well ladies it is Wednesday here in Sunny Florida and my NT scan is at 3:10pm EST. I went to visit my mom at her office this morning and I am kind of wishing I had not. I told her I had my scan today and she said, "You are going to see his little parts today!". I know she means well but I told her she crushed my hopes already and that I was really hoping for a girl this time. She said, "yes but you are going to have 2 boys first and then you will have a girl".
Now you have to know a little background here...my family is VERY religious and I know she has already seen this baby in her dreams. I have too actually but it was before I was pregnant. Anyway we both saw boys so I am already feeling a little disappointed at the fact that she said it again right before my scan. Anyway...I don't even know if I want to even look for a nub now. Sorry for the long post ladies...I am just super disappointed now. As long as the baby is healthy though I will get past it.

With DS2 they could see his "gear" at the first scan! The U/S technician sort of said "did you want to know the baby's gender?" We thought well you've told us by just asking at this 10 week scan!
Same as us Weezie. Saw my DS1's goods at 12 weeks and they were CLEARLY boy goods, lol. Couldn't doubt it if they paid me to do so, lol. Congrats on your BFP!!! :running:

Good news - I didn't have a headache for 4 days straight (from Saturday to Tuesday)! Whoo hoo! Then had another one last night, for several hours. Ugh. Well, I'll take what I can get. It was a nice break. ;)
Glad to hear that everyone is doing well! :)

I've been wondering about 3boys too, maybe she just needs a bit of time. I know she saw a doctor who specializes in early gender determination, but it would be very hard for me to believe with certainty that a scan at 12 weeks could be 100% accurate, it just seems so early but I'm no expert. I hope she's ok.

Good Morning Ladies...I have been obsessing all night about if this is a nub that I am seeing and if so, is it boyish or girlie. I'm sure it is too early for accuracy but if I have just a bit of hope then it is enough for me. So here are the shots....

I didn't pay attention - was her scan really at 12 weeks? I also saw someone who specializes in early gender determination, but they don't even venture a guess until 13 weeks (I happened to be 13w4d, and babies were measuring a few days past 14 weeks). I agree - I think 12 weeks is too early to tell for sure. In fact, at my 11 week scan, the tech was thinking I might be having two boys, but at my 13w4d scan, it was very clear that there is one of each in there. Just goes to show how much can change in such a short amount of time. Either way though, I do hope 3boys is doing alright. We're here for you, 3boys, just in case you're lurking. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said "12 weeks" with such confidence, I'm not sure exactly how far along she was...just seems early to give up hope entirely. But I'm no expert and I don't know her or her doc so I probably should zip it and just wish her all the best...I really do wish her the best.

I have had scans with the doc 3boys went to. He got one of mine wrong but gave a 75% girl guess but I was 11 weeks something. He does have a high success rate but I know recently of someone who has only just had her baby he said boy at first scan - and he done 20 week scan too and then said girl. She did have a girl. Don't want to give false hope and I am sure 3boys knows what to look for two if she's like the rest of us nub obsessors but 3boys if you are reading posts - I hope you are ok as can be and just to let you know we're thinking of you x

how correct is this "nub" theory? this is the first I have ever heard of it. I also had a friedn that had an us at 16 weeks say girl and then 20 weeks say boy so I would be worried until after 20 as it seems they really for sure know then if they gets good shot. like someone said I think I'll just go along with my lil ray of hope I might have a girl and be expecting a boy like I always do and maybe I'll be surprised lol

Very true! Even though I got a lot of girl guesses I know things can change so it is probably best that I won't have another u/s until week 20! At least I have a bit of hope which is more than I can say that I have had in the last few weeks. In the end I am praying for peace in whatever this baby is and good health!

Anyone having any joint pain??? My hips are KILLING me. I thought maybe I just pulled a muscle or something but now it's both of them. I didn't sleep well cause after lying on one side too long they hurt. And I can't lay on my tummy or back so I just have to keep rolling around lol. Maybe the weight gain? I didn't have this with DS. I don't think I've gained overly enough to hurt my hips haha I know hips and other joints move to make room for baby but I thought that was later! Oh well. It REALLY hurts though :(

This time it got bad early on in pregnancy I think since 8 weeks or so. Usually with my boys it was much later on! Which makes sense as your body gets ready for birth i guess.
But i know my back was also hurting last week and my chiro said there was a hormone surge loosening everything up. Have you tried going to a chiro?

Yes that's what I thought about later on! Then I though maybe weight? But I have only gained 12lbs, I'm petite but it's still not enough to HURT me I think lol. So horomones it is, I never thought about that. No I haven't seen a chiropractor! It's only been a couple days, it does seem to be getting worse but I'm going to hold out and see if it subsides. Hi pearl, your a little too early for a nub shot so please don't give up hope. Boys and girls look the same til the 12th week and a boy nub can raise up until 13 weeks. I would be more tempted to go by your dates than the scan date - they moved me forward by nearly a week with all three of the boys and they were all late and only a day or so off my dates so new dates were wrong, my boys were just bigger for their gestation.
This baby is measuring small by comparison to the lads. how did you measure with your daughter - an owt but could be a sign

It's true! I forget the exact reason but I think it has to do with organs squishing the blood flow to the baby??? Something along those lines atleast lol

Please don't worry about sleeping on your back, i always woke up on my back with ds3 and was sooo worried i asked my midwife - its more later pregnancy as it can restrict the flow of the placenta BUT you will pass out long before your baby notices any difference as it will restrict the major blood supply to your lower body. You'd feel light headed and really rough, so much so that you would move - i naturally started sleeping on side without even thinking about it, its too uncomfortable by then. Your body is an amazing thing and it will protect your baby so please don't worry x

I know that my dates are not wrong as AF was just finishing when this one was supposed to have been conceived, plus I was away on a girls weekend. Doc decided to stick with my dates. I am not giving up hope for a DS just yet.
My DD measured a day or two behind at the start. After that she was exactly the size, weight and length that they say in all the books at each appointment. and was born at 7lb which is the average baby birth weight in Ireland

DH has been wonderful this week and took me away for a few days to make me feel better. I have just read through the whole weeks thread (taken me half hour lol) and I am so sorry that I have left people wondering if I am ok. I just needed some time to get to grips with the fact it might be a boy, I understand it's still early but I have to sort of face the music (that nub was straight up in the air). You girls are so lovely you truly are.
I'm going to start up my laptop (on the iPad now) and load on my pictures which I feel very proud of! And also a belly shot so you can see just how much I've popped since my last post.

I went facebook public this week and have already been bombarded by 'Bet you're hoping for a girl,eh?" comments...why do they make me so angry and defensive?? Sending hugs mum23. I have days where I feel like the whole world is on top of me. The worse days were definitely earlier on when I was being sick constantly and worrying and feeling sorry for myself as GD had set in big time (and that was before I had a clue).
I starting off team green as I knew when baby is born I will fall in love. The reaon I changed my mind was because the not knowing was causing me more worry and obsession than anything else. I know I don't know for Deffinate that baby is a boy but I'm prepared now and it actually feels easier to know. I could not bare the thought (personally knowing how obsessed I was getting) thinking for nine months it might be a girl when it wasn't.
I know I can't help but sending love, hugs and lots of friendship... That makes me smile when I'm down :)

Wanting pink congrats dear! I can't stand the "try for a girl" comments! I was getting those before I even announced the pregnancy. I usually just say "well we can try for a girl all we want but it's not up to us" or " if only it were that easy". My best friend is 6 weeks ahead of me and she will be finding out on Wednesday if her intuition is right. She feels it is a girl. I am happy that we don't have to work that day :-/

I know exactly how you feel. I am adamant about not finding out the gender before the baby is born. I am preparing myself for a boy and even find myself thinking of the baby as a he and just hoping that I am presently surprised. When ds3 was born I was so set on him being a girl that when the doctor finally told us what we had (he forgot to look because most people already know) I immediately said " NOOO" and my husband told me he was sorry, but I knew he was just thrilled. I was fine though within an hour and it didn't matter so I'm just hoping that if I go into the birth assuming it is a boy then I will be better prepared then I will be if I know for sure and have to carry the baby for several months without getting to see or hold it and know it is not what I want.

Hows everyone doing today ? Im feeling a bit low if im honest. I spent all day yesterday feeling sick ( is it even possible to hve MS 24 hours a day ) and today i dont feel any better i am short tempered, emotional and most of all GD is creeping in - i just read the post on what people have been buying for their lottle girls and i couldnt help but cry thinking that ill never get to join in - I really dont want to know until the birth as know it will kill me to hear boy before hand yet on the day i wont care but im really not sure i can go until the end not knowign and feeling like this - the only problem is DH is dead against finding out and i really dont want to lie to him by knowing and pretending i dont.

Okay ladies don't laugh at me but I really need to stay off the Internet. I ate some bagged salad and it was Caesar to top it off. So I remember previously reading that bagged salad usually doesn't contain the raw egg dressing but decided to google it anyway. Wouldn't you know there was a recall a couple months ago for Dole bagged salad in the Midwest for listeria!!!! Granted I am in Florida and it was 2 months ago but still...I'm freaking out that I may have ingested listeria. Note to self...stay off the Internet, lol.
How is everyone else doing today?

Thanks onelastdream! I didn't think of it that way. I just feel like I can't eat anything these days, lol. Sorry to hear you are feeling down and the gd is the culprit :-( I pray that I don't feel the effects if this baby is a boy. I just want to be happy about any gender but it's hard. I keep telling myself it's only baby number 2 and that DS will benefit from having a brother. Just makes mamma sad to know that it might not be the daughter that I've prayed for. One thing is for sure...can't spend these next two months nubsessing or I'm going to be a mad woman by February. Hope it gets better hunnie!

Oh P4P i hope you do hear pink but your son would benefit so much from having a brother - i always wanted my son to have a brother - he has two and the three of them are so close, i think it really benefits boys growing up to have brothers to bond with.

Thanks Mrs_P :) that's very reassuring, cause I'm finding it hard to sleep only on my left side, and unknowingly I return back flat on my back during the night, it's such a habit :)

And yes I guess that's what they say, I definitely go back and forth though during the night, sometimes I wake on left, sometimes on my right! Kinda hard to control when you are sleeping hehe!

Lol Jadis my mom is having dreams and visions too but they are boy visions :-/ kind of why I really don't believe this is a girl.
My mum also had a dream of me with my little boy, she said he had very fair, curly hair. I have very dark hair and hubby is kind of chestnut but not as dark as mine. When I told my mil about my mum's dream, she said that my hubby had very fair curly hair when he was born. She said he looked like baby jesus. My mum didn't even know that hubby had such fair curly hair when he was a baby!

Omg 3 boys I haven't even gone public on FB yet but as soon as I went public to family, friends, and co workers I immediately started getting "hope it is a girl" comments and I only have one boy! I can't imagine what you poor ladies are going through with all the comments. ((Big Hugs))
Me too, I only have one boy but everyone wants me to have girl...it's just my son who wants a baby brother!

3 boys I know exactly how you feel!! I just found out I am pregnant and I don't want to tell a soul (including my DH) until I know if it is a boy or a girl. Obviously that isn't realistic but I am tired of people asking me if we are going to "try" for a girl. I know the minute I tell people that I will also be bombarded with the "hope it is a girl" comments. I am only 15 dpo and in my mind this baby is already a boy because I am not sure if I can deal with even thinking it is a girl. My Mom has 4 grandchildren and they are all boys!! I hate that people other than me and my DH even comment on it!!!
Congratulations WantingPink, hope you have a happy healthy pregnancy and that you have your little pink bean in there :)

So sorry you are not feeling ok Mum23boys :( And being sick and nauseous doesn't help at all. You will start to feel better in a few weeks time and feeling better will also make you feel more positive about the baby you are carrying, even if it is a boy. Personally I can't imagine having to wait for 9months to know the gender of the baby cause the more I wait till I know, the more hope I get. Sometimes I just admit it to myself that it is def a boy, it's just as if it just can't be girl, sort of it would be a miracle if it was a girl. But other times I start hoping and dreaming of hearing 'it'a girl' and I just start crying cause I know I'll never gonna hear that phrase in my whole life.
I wish I had a magic wand and take all this GD away from us all. I'm praying everyday that I start accepting the fact that I'll have a boy, but honestly I know that I'll always feel there is something missing in my life even when years will pass by.
Hugs to you my dear, hope you will be feeling better soon!

So I'm so anxious for Friday! And my mom just called to tell me about my cousin, actually his wife. She is due 2weeks behind me and she went to the same gynae I'm going last Friday and gynae tried to look at her baby's gender but baby had crossed feet and he couldn't see what it was. So I'm so much hoping that it won't be the same with my little one next Friday. When I had my son, we also got to know gender very late in pregnancy cause dr could never see what he had down there. This sucks :( I just want to know, no matter if he's a he or a she. I need to start forgetting wanting a girl completely!

AH I'm so jealous!!!! I wish I was getting a scan this week lol!
I'm counting down the days till yours too now! SO EXCITING!
I am officially 16 weeks today - seems the time is just flying. Literally feels like yesterday I found out I was pregnant! I have no symptoms anymore, other then being super tired at night. After DS goes to bed at 8, I am literally done and could fall right asleep too! I went to a maternity store yesterday, I HATE MATERNITY CLOTHES SHOPPING, and I just wanted to get a zip up sweater, they don't carry XS and the size S I could have literally stored another adult in the sweater with me. Like not just the tummy section of the sweater, the shoulders came about to my elbows. Not sure why they assume that cause your pregnant you can't still be petite lol. So disappointing! But that's okay. Last preg I bought 1 sweater and 2 summer shirts, other then that I wore all my normal clothes right till the bitter end, which I intend on doing again :) Are any of you ladies in the maternity clothes yet?

Same here hun. Went to buy a pair of black trousers and a pair of jeans last Thursday. Guess what, I couldn't find my size 6 or small or XS. They were all huge. As you're saying, I guess they assume we're gonna be super big :( I finally found one pair, and it was the only pair available, of jeans and got it immediately, and found a pair of black trousers size 8 but I don't know if I should have bought it cause it is still a little big and the tummy part is def big. And I wanted to wear it for Xmas cause the other trousers I have are now too tight and I don't have anything to wear :( And as for shirts, that's another problem. All shirts here are super light in fabric. I want something warm, woollen shirts. It's winter here now so def need something to keep me warm. Plus since starting the LE diet and even now that I'm pregnant, I feel colder than I used to feel. There are very few shops around here that sell maternity clothes and the ones there are, they seem to have just half a dozen items and that's it. And I'm afraid to buy from internet, cause they might not fit and I can't give them to anyone like I usually do when I get something from interenet which doesn't fit.
I'm wearing my new maternity jeans now, which I'll probably will be wearing very often! But def need to buy more stuff. I'm kind of getting a belly this week, it's as if a minute there was nothing, a minute after it popped out :)

For me, I'd be lost without my 'bellaband'. I just wear my regular pants with my band on top to cover up the fact that I can't do them up. Getting very excited, girls-my first scan is tomorrow! Can't wait to see my sweet munchkin but I'm torn about whether or not to ask for a nub shot. I'm worried the tech will be snarky about my request and I'm worried that having a nub shot will mean nubsessing for 2 months solid. Then again, getting some guesses here could be fun. Whatdya think?

Omg I live in my Bella band lol!!!! It's my saviour! The only reason I don't have to buy maternity clothes really! I guess it depends on size, it covered my whole bump almost the whole way through! Well worth the money. I'd totally recommend it! Saved me a ton on maternity clothes that's for sure!

Yep, cvd is right. Right now, I wear it folded in half but I could unfold it when I get bigger and it would cover the full bump. My only regret is that I bought it in an ugly nude colour, I'm going to need to get a black one.

I think whether or not I work up the nerve to ask the tech for a nub shot will be a last minute decision. I'm not even sure I want one, I'll drive myself batty obsessing over it. Any girl guesses here will give me crazy hope and any boy guesses will depress the crap outta me...yet the temptation is certainly there to steal an early peek at the goods.

You girls are so lucky, being so tiny with cute bumps. I've been in maternity clothes since about 10 weeks (well, maternity skirts, but not tops), and in full maternity clothes by 13 weeks. My bump just popped out this past week too, and I am very obviously pregnant. I had a prenatal appt today, and my uterus is already well over my belly button - about to the bottom of my rib cage. No wonder I'm already experiencing heartburn! But at 15 weeks, it's crazy to think my uterus is so high already! Where will these babies go?! They better start growing OUT instead of UP, because there's not much room upwards.
Also...I'm super, super sick with an awful chest cold (lots of coughing, hard to breathe bc my chest is so tight, super sore throat, and coughing up green mucous - sorry, gross I know). Has anyone experienced this during pregnancy, and if so, what helped you? I am miserable, and just suffering through it because my OB has only approved Tylenol for use during pregnancy, which of course does nothing to help. Any suggestions?

Sweetpea - sorry you are feeling bad. I hope you get well soon. You could gargle with warm salt water or drink hot lemon honey tea or water to help your sore throat. Be careful coughing really hard. My friend broke her rib while coughing in her last pregnancy.

I have a cough at the min and asked my Ob on Friday when I was in with him. He said all the over the counter stuff was safe to take but to send DH in for it as the pharmacist most likely wouldn't sell it to a pregnant lady. And my ob is a specialist in foetal medicine not just a gyne.

I don't think I'm feeling anything. Last week I thought I felt something, I was at work and thought i felt faint flutters in my belly. But I didn't feel them anymore, so now I'm thinking it was my intestines or something, I'm not quite sure. I got first kicks from my DS at 16weeks, so I'm expecting them to start any time now.
I think it's quite normal being bigger with twins but can understand that it can be very uncomfortable. So sorry you are feeling sick sweetpea :( It's already difficult to be pregnant let alone having cold symptoms. When I have a cough I try drinking lots of hot water with a tablespoon of honey and a few drops of lemon. Honey calms the cough and the lemon juice helps to break the mucus in the chest. Other than that, sorry but don't know :( I hope you will be feeling better soon sweetie! hugs to you!

Thanks for all the lovely messages girls. After a bit of fight with the nhs i finally got scanned (they didn't want to do it since i was scanned the week before, even though it was private), still not been dated though so am going by my lmp dates. So far so good, she has grown since last week and her little hear beat was beating away so although we aren't out of the woods yet, its good news for now. Just keeping my fingers crossed she carries on fighting - no idea what all of the pains were though.

I had my u/s today but did not get a potty shot. I had the grumpy old lady u/s tech today and she said it was to early to tell. Baby only showed his/her back side today anyway. I go for a gender scan on Jan 15. Woohoo, I can't wait!
