I'm really panicking shes going to be early. I was the same with DS2 and he was a day late. Super sorry for the TMI but been having diarrhea for a few days now (not too bad thankfully) and with her dropping down this early too its playing on my mind.
Its a good job we have almost finished buying everything, all we need is the moses basket, stand and bouncy chair. Has everyone else got everything ready. Also packed my hospital bag this morning :)

Welcome back elements!!
I think I'm about set on everything. I really haven't purchased much new stuff since most of my boy gear was gender neutral colors. I am set for clothes through at least 6 months from all the hand me downs. I just need to buy new bottles. I guess the only thing I've actually spent money on was the nursery and even that was minimal since I made everything myself or refinished old junk I found for free or under ten bucks. I can't wait for the day we can afford new things. They pay residents so little we can barely get by at times.......one day it will be over......

Wow resident pay is that bad! :(
I got Tommie tippe bottles this time cause I read consumer reports to find the best bootle and they say those are it... I used dr brown with Ezra and loved them except they are hard to clean and I found myself replacing the small parts a lot cause they would get really nasty...I am being cheap this baby too besides the stroller and a few other splurges and I found the bottles on kijiji brand new I paid under 20 bucks for 10 bottles which is pretty awesome :)... I bought a bottle warmer this time ... Never had one with the others but I don't feel comfortable walking down stairs with a baby at night... But I paid 5 bucks for it lol... I got the same baby swing I had for Ezra which I paid 200 for his and they are still 180 in stores but I went to a hand me down store they had the exact same one with dirty fabric for 30 dollars... I bought it washed it and it looks good as new! And I will be able to sell it for 80 when I'm done with it!
My mom gave me 150 buck the other day for the baby so I went and bought the last couple things I needed...
So I'm ready but he needs to wait 22 more days before I want him to come :) wow that sounds super short

I am remembered lol. Thought i would have been long since forgotten :)
Nothing interesting to report here, Ive been getting physio on my pelvis (SPD), and washed everything we have dragged out of storage. Just homing all the bits and pieces now and counting down the weeks.
I brought a few new cloth nappies aswell. Other then that I haven't made any purchases.
Im still searching for the perfect security toy though. Whats everyone else got?

I finish work Thursday and get a new dryer tomorrow as ours is broken so as of the weekend im going to get all the baby's newborn and some 0-3 washed and put away into her drawers, as well as freshening up her moses baskets and any old blankets I have saved. Was debating washing all her new stuff too but i think il just leave that, extra unnecessary work.
Im so looking forward to packing my hospital bag, it will settle in then that there isn't long to go. Im hoping as its my birthday on Friday, friends and family think to help towards costs :) I always ask for money but this time it will really help as im desperate for some new PJ's slippers and dressing gown.
Elements: Ive gone with a good old fashioned soft blanket for a comforter,my first DD was never without her blankets, but never had a set one she HAD to have as I alternated 2/3. I like to think they feel secure with their blanket but would hate to have to fight it off them for the wash lol x

Your not forgotten don t be silly ;)
I've spent so much money on clothes for this baby it's sad...considering I had a very nice and full wardrobe from ds3 saved lol... But in my defense I had basically all the bigger things already so I didnt have much to get so I had to keep busy somehow... Right? Lmao
I have to buy a new camera before he's born... My old one broke and I've been using my I pad for pic taking...

Omg I swear I am going to get a broken rib! He is sticking some body part which I believe to be his foot and it feels like he is hooking it around my rib... Only 21 days till I'm full term and 34 till induction day :D

Do you. OT have air conditioning? We had a two week heat wave where the temps were 45 with humidity and I swear I stepped out side for a few seconds a day and swear it would have killed me to be out... Poor ds3 wanted to be outside but too dangerous for him or anyone else for that matter... And now last night our weather said a low of zero lmao .... Wacky weather
fish2012
July 24th, 2013, 09:27 AM
Ha ha air con nope it's pretty much unheard of for it to be more than 28! It's the hottest heat wave for like 20 yrs and were blooming preggie typical!
What are you counting as term 37? I'm 34 wks on thurs so will start the evening promise internally then, perhaps just don't smell it ;-s
Wanting-a-girl
July 24th, 2013, 09:37 AM
Ya 37 is or was considered full term but think they are in the midst of changing that because there have been some studies in how there is a huge amount of brain development from 35-39 weeks I would like him to come at 38 weeks... I def want him before induction...
That's brutal! No a/c :( I would die! I hope it cools down for you! Heat is def harder to deal with when crazy pregnant!

Fish i'm melting too, its so so hot. Thought all the storms we had the other day would have cooled things down but no :( Sadly houses don't really have AC in the UK. Could really do with it at the min though.
Ill have to put a bump pic up but really mines not changed much for a good while. I have a feeling shes going to be quite small but i still have about 6 weeks till i'm full term so fingers crossed she does some more growing before then.
Its so exciting that some of you will be holding your little ones next month :d

Ah thanks nbp,
I'm going in when I'm 37+4 for them to decide whether to induce that week or following praying I go into labour the day before ;-) I expect I'll make it till at least 38 ;-s both boys born at 40 + wks!

All my babies were born in different weeks... So I can't even use them as guidelines lol... Ds1 was 37 weeks, ds2 41 weeks, ds3 induced at 39... So who knows when he would make his appearance...

July 24th, 2013, 06:25 PM
Hey Elements! Glad you have come back :)
I'm kind of daft when it comes to Celsius. We had a heat wave last week with high humidity that put the heat index at 107 some days. This week it has cooled back down to the 90's. Of course the temps had no affect on me in here lol.
I actually have nothing ready for the baby. I knew odds were high I would go preterm but I always worry about jinxing myself getting stuff ready too early for some weird reason. That silly logic really kicked me in the butt this time. It's all up to DH to wash the baby clothes and get all our baby gear our of the attic and cleaned. Luckily I did do my shopping early but never washed any of it. There are a few things I would like to do in the nursery but I don't mind doing it after he's born since he will sleep in our room for the first couple of months anyway.
I think a fresh set of bump pics is a great idea! I'll ask DH to take one for me when he comes after work today. Feels like my belly has ballooned in the nearly 3 weeks I've been here yet I've actually lost 10lbs due to lack of appetite.

I dont know if I'm brave enough to share a bump pic. I'm gigantic lol
Im so jealous of you all talking about the nice weather. It's blinking cold here. Below freezing temps at night. But its a lovely day today, the sun is shinning :) Shame I cant go for a walk in it though. Cant travel more then about 100meters because of my pelvis (About 300ft if thats the correct conversion for you northen hemispherers).
I have my Midwife coming to visit me today. She will probably tell me off for not getting my blood tests done, but its been the school holidays and I've had no car so its just not going to happen anytime soon.

I'm enormous too, and only 30 weeks. I don't have gestational diabetes though which is always a relief but for the first time I'm iron deficient. I'm taking supplements but not really loving them.
Southern, you look great, all bump and I can't believe you've kept him in there for so long.
I have no plans for induction but I doubt my ob will be wanting me to go too far post term given that it'll be a VBAC and he's consistently measuring a few weeks ahead. I'd prefer not to be induced but I've gone into labour at 38, 39 and 40 weeks (on my due date) so I'm not worried.
Can't believe I've still got two full months to go though, I'm already struggling to do up my boots!

Ii know your obviously in more pain then me but if any of your kids are small enough and still sit in a stroller I find the leverage to be very helpful... I've started to up. Y walking now that I'm near the finish... It's time to prepare for labour ... I'm still quite scared thinking of labour... I hope I can find a focal point and hopfully stay calm... With ds2 I literally looked like a maniac I swear... It was 3 am and I was screaming at th top of my lungs.. Not my proudest moment but that labour hit like a ton of bricks

Unfortunately, I cant really walk at all not even with a stroller to help support me (I have to ride one of those motorized carts at the store lol its embarrassing). Since my hip wont stay in socket, I'm constantly falling and with every step I am able to take, I have an extremely painful pop in my hip that everyone in the room can hear! I have to wake DH up to help me roll over to get comfy at night or to help me to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night! Poor guy doesn't get to sleep through the night cuz I pee at least 3 times during the night lol. This is your 4th baby, labour is nothing new to you, what is it that scares you??
Wanting-a-girl
July 25th, 2013, 02:37 PM
Omg that sounds terrible!
Um it scares me cause my epidural didn't work with Ezra and I still very vividly remember the pain... I'm trying to get my mind into a zone of peace because I know my labour will be short most likely but will I be able to keep that mindset when it's happening... My Braxton hick are very painful where it feels like I'm in labour daily so I try to use those to help me find a relaxation method cause I really want to avoid the epi this time

July 25th, 2013, 08:06 PM
Well ladies, I must be having a weak moment as I'll show you my bump!! I'm huge-again. But all my babies are up around the 9-10lb mark. I always get comments from my doc about how much fluid I have, plus my placentas are always said to be huge and thick! So I'm trying to remember all that is in there too!! Haha but this bub is on the 97th percentile for growth so doc is keen to get her out still at 38 wks! I'm doing everything I can to help that process along
This pic was taken at 32wks last wk. I haven't done a 33wk pic and now probably closer to 34wks so will wait until Monday and do another one
Southern you look fantastic!! Super proud of you keeping same in the hospital and super proud of both you and bubs for staying put (as much as it must suck at times)
DLTAG yes you are small compared to your boys! But gorgeous neat little bump though!
Wag you're looking great!! Similar to me maybe a but smaller though! I want to start walking too but struggling to find the time - plus it's winter here so not many good days with nice weather at the moment to get outside.
Thorz-omg I had to laugh at you having to hold your hand under your bump to show you do infact have a bump there!! That's the cutest lil bump I've seen for 31wks!! I would stop worrying about all his weight you think you're putting on whilst on bed rest!! Not sure where it all is, but you're looking fantastic!!

WAG hope you are feeling better!!!
I just got back from my doc appt and apparently I haven't gained any weight in over a month and I am measuring at 29 weeks!!! Dr isn't to happy but baby's heart rate is good and she moves loads and loads so dr is making me eat extra and if my measurements aren't back to within a week of gestation then we have to do an ultrasound!!! I hope all is ok! Now I am a bit worried! I stopped at the store and bought hummus and veggies and came home and ate the whole thing, not to mention a bunch of cookies! I don't care if I gain a TON of weight, as long as she is ok!

Thorz I am popping in from due in February but I measured small with all my boys but noteably I was measuring 32 weeks and term with DS1. I had a growth scan with him and ds2 and the scan found that baby was fine for dates but just a smaller child. Actually ds1 was 6 lbs 11 at ten days overdue. Ds2 was actually bigger, 7 lbs 15 at a few days overdue. I think some people just carry very neat. I am quite petite naturally.

DLTAG- Happy Anniversary!!! Hope you had a wonderful day to celebrate :)
WAG- I'm glad you're feeling better. Take it easy as much as you can.
Thorz- I'm sorry for the worry but as others have said I'm sure baby is fine even with you not gaining weight. I lost 10lbs during my 3 weeks in the hospital and they had a nutritionist come talk to me but I simply can't eat more than a few bites at a time. Ultrasounds show baby is still huge so it's obviously not affecting him!
Salsa- You look great! How tall are you? I'm only 4'11 and so I think that's part of why my bump gets so large because my torso is so short that baby has nowhere to go but outward. This one is also measuring huge in the 95th percentile.
Mum- You have a cute bump too and you carry it very well!
We also let the kids pick up a small gift for the baby and the baby always has a gift for the older kids which the baby "gives" to them when they come to visit at the hospital.
Well I have great news ladies... I AM HOME!!!!!!!! Since I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and we live less than 2 miles up the road from the hospital, my dr decided to let me come home! I'm still on very strict bedrest (only supposed to be getting out of bed for bathroom and showers) and still taking the same meds for contractions. It feels amazing to be home. DH and the kids have been wonderfully helpful. I'm so thankful to have some time home before baby arrives :D

Thanks so much ladies, I know I've already said it but it really does just feel amazing to be home with DH and the kids. WAG, no worries I don't expect you to remember everyone's backgrounds and previous pregnancies lol. My others were born at 31w, 35w, and 33w.

It must be amazing to be home, Southern. You've done so well making it to 34 weeks.
Laura, I'm still working but only 2 days week. I stop at 35 weeks and I am looking forward to it. I like work but the logistics of getting there can be a pain.
It's nice not being in my third tri in the Aussie heat as i was with my last two, overall winter is better but I'm very over these constant colds. They're minor but I'm tired anyway so it's hard work. DH is just home now so I'm supposed to be having a rest but all I can hear is small children stomping around and shouting.
Thorz, how big were you with the others? Fundal height measurements aren't that reliable.

Enjoy your time at home now!
It's my little girls 5th birthday today! We've had such a big day and I've been so unwell I have no voice and all these mouth Ulca's! I've really struggled through the day. But she has had a wonderful day so that's all that matters! My DH has summoned me to my room to rest so he is earning major points tonight feeding and bathing all the kids!

Southern very glad to hear your home, it must be a little more relaxing for you. I'm tiny like you too at 5'0 :)
Thank you for the anniversary wishes too. Hubby bought me a lovely new wedding ring too so hes very much in the good books.
When DS2 was born we gave DS1 a little present from the baby and i'm doing the same this time. I know a hot wheels car and a tube of smarties will go down very well with them. They are already wrapped and packed in my hospital bag.
Ended up in hospital last night too after having period pains all day, nothing too painful but was nagging away at my. Thankfully they didnt find anything wrong but no clue as to what they were.
They did say i'm measuring about 3 weeks small though so i have another scan sometime this week. I'm not too worried thought but glad to be getting my little bump checked out.

I just try to sleep on my side... With all my other babies I made sure I was on my left side but this time the round ligament pains make moving unbearable in the middle of the night so how I fall a sleep is how I stay... Sometimes I wake up on my bac and I'm horrified lol... My round ligament pain is so bad that when I wake to go to the bathroom it takes me ten mins to sit up... Salsa Happy belated birthday to your little girl!
Mum it is summer here in the states and I've actually enjoyed being pregnant this time of year. I was mostly pregnant during the cold months with the others and honestly hated it. I guess I am the opposite of most ladies!
I also sleep on either side and just switch up throughout the night as my sides and back hurt if I sleep on one side too long.
Just out of curiosity, what time of day did you ladies go into labor with your other babies? I've always began labor in the middle of the night and deliver early the next morning. I think that's part of why I've had so much trouble sleeping this pregnancy because I keep thinking I'm going to go into labor.

Had a scan this afternoon and shes measuring 3.9oz which they said is good but . . . shes breech. I'm only 32 weeks though so there still time for her to turn but really hoping she does. My floors will be spotless.
I turn and sleep on my left side, even swapped bed sides with DH to encourage me to sleep on my left side but i often wake up on my back. I think theres only so much we can do.
I went into labour with DS1 at 6am (woke up with pains) and he was born at 12.53pm and with DS2 i went into labour at about 3pm and he was born at 6.55pm so i always seem to go into labour in the day, both boys were born on a sat too :)

Hi Ladies,
Long time no speak! Its been almost 100 days since we had Evelyn.
But as someone previously put, I'm now pregnant again - I'm really hoping that this one sticks and is healthy, but I already have that deep down feeling its a boy - I had the same feeling deep down with the boys, and with Evelyn I did have a deep deep down feeling she was a girl, but didn't ever want to admit it. I guess if things go well, we'll be finding out in just over 12 weeks.
We are now under consultant care, which means we will get an early scan in 4-5 weeks, then another at 12, 14, 16 and 20 weeks. All of them very in depth checking for the condition Evelyn had, as they do not know if it was caused by a gene passed down, but then it could also have been caused by an infection or exposure to a chemical. Either way, it was a very VERY rare condition that isn't scanned for, only 4 in 1,000,000 is born with it! The fact it caused the brain ventricles to dilated as well is even rarer, so we really hope it was just a one off. At least this time, they will specifically look for the problems with the organs.
Anyway, thank you for thinking of me some of you, and I hope all your pregnancies go well. I still think of how far along I should be, and I wish I was still here with you lovely ladies, still pregnant with my baby girl.

LOL I had a weird gender dream last night!!! I haven't had one of those in a while. I dreamed I gave birth to my little girl and I was so so so excited! As I was dressing her to leave the hospital in a cute girly outfit, I looked down and noticed boy bits hanging out of the diaper!! LOL in my dream my baby had both boy and girl bits and we couldn't figure out which gender he/she was!!
Its funny what our mind will do to us when we have a real concern for things. I know this probably really is a girl, but I have been scared lately that they got it wrong.
I'm so tired of being pregnant and still have 54 more days to go................that is so so so long. Hopefully things will go by fast I have a few going on in AUG like needing to school shop and meet with my sons teacher and get his immunizations and get him off to start 1st grade. I also have a baby shower that my friends are throwing me on AUG 24th and I still need to finish up on the nursery! I kind of put that on hold because DS3 is still in that room and still in the crib at the moment so the baby probably wont even go in that room for at least 3 months after she is born because we will keep her in our room in the bassinet for at least 3 months. Ugh Im ready for her to be here so I can have my energy and hip back! but at the same time, I don't want to wish my summer away. I absolutely DESPISE the winter time it depresses me. I really want to go into labour on my own too... When I first got preg I thought there is no way I make it till the end of August running around n the heat after a two year old constantly... But now I'm not too sure.... I'm also not feeling comfortable with the evening primrose after atomic saying its a blood thinner... I can't find much information on it tho... But logically I think I shouldn't take a blood thinner for one. Dont want to bleed too much at birth... Two I'm Rh- and I've only had + babies and my bloods mixed with tw of them and Im thinking that blood thinners will def increase the chance... Now I wonder do they act like a blood thinner when they are inserted as well? I can't believe I'm 35 weeks tomorrow! I havnt gained any weight in almost two weeks lol :) makes me a bit happy as I've gained too much
fish2012
July 30th, 2013, 01:20 PM
Oh I've never heard its a blood thinner, my pregnancy yoga teacher recommended it! I would guess it may still be a thinner if inserted internally however it's going to be more effective like that so may just go for internally and not orally? I've been taking it a while now but no idea how I'd know if it was thinning my blood!
Trying regular dtd too as convinced that helps but not managing more than about 3 times a week lol so knackered can't wait for this pregnancy to be over!
Wanting-a-girl
July 30th, 2013, 02:00 PM
I have quite a high se drive and I know for a fact I was dtd every day basically with ds2 and he was a 41 weeker... But with that said I did go into labour a few hours before his scheduled induction after having sex and a shower... The blood thinner thing scares me a lot! I would hate for something stupid to happen to try and speed something up that will happen soon anyways... I know it feels like forever waiting for the baby... But I can't risk my life... Which I think thinning the blood is doing I think it could cause bleeding issues at birth logically
fish2012
July 30th, 2013, 03:00 PM

Hmmm if EPO is a blood thinner, how would it cause clots? I'm going to talk to my dr about it, because I have had issues with clots before, I would think a blood thinner would be good. I wouldn't take it for sure if I had a history of bleeding too much or csections. I bought some EPO at Walmart for 6 bucks but I haven't opened it. If my dr says I shouldn't use it, I'll just return it.

I have my surgery papers from my breast reduction and it's actually on the list of stuff you can't take... So it's a blood thinner
Thorz300
July 30th, 2013, 06:18 PM
Oh I know it's a blood thinner that's why I wouldn't use it if csection was on the table, or if there was a history of heavy bleeding. My question is why would it cause clots? I've had clotting issues in the past and been put on blood thinners to reduce the clots. That's why I'm confused. I'm not doubting atomics experience but it doesn't make since to me that a blood thinner would cause clotting. That's why I want to talk to my dr. Blood thinners are good for me, but nothing that causes clots because my body does that on its own.
Wanting-a-girl
July 30th, 2013, 06:45 PM
Ya I def see the contradiction... Perhaps her clots were unrelated... I'm very low risk for c section but with my luck I take it and then end up needing one for some reason or another lol... I seem to have bad luck so I like to play it safe
It sucks I really really wanted to try it this time :( I want to knowin it has the blood thinning effect when inserted cause maybe it absobs different into your body...

I'm beyond upset right now!
I was in the backyard with ds3 and my ds1 had three friends over and they were on the trampoline... They were playing at a volume the wouldn't even bug me and I'm pretty easily agitated right now lol and my bitch of a neighbour who didn't see me there comes out and tells ds1 and his friends to fuckingmshut the fuck up! So I yelled excuse me! And she started yelling various shit at me at the top of her lungs and I'm not in a position to be yelling I don't need preterm labour ao I keep my cool and tell her she is looking a little crazy yelling at everyone's kids... And I asked her to stop swearing at my kids and she said its not like they havnt heard it before and she's a grown woman and will do what she wants so I said well my 2 year old is right here... And she says well he's stupid and doesn't understand anything! She then told me to watch my self cause she will be making more phone calls to cps!
Why is this happening! My kids should be alowed t play in their backyard at really any volume they want during the day! Why is she threatening me! ... My mom told me I should ignore her..l but really would any of you just stand there and allow someone to scream at your children?
Now since she already called cps a few weeks ago ... I have a worker... Should I call her and tell her what's happening? Cause I bet she is going to call tomorrow and make some stupid stuff up
I can't believe I have to deal with someone like this! I literally have to be cautious of anything I do because she will make shit up...

Hi Ladies,
so a couple of weeks ago I got back on here and read everything to get caught up, then wrote a pretty long post, hit a wrong button, and lost it all (and my mind too, lol)! I was so frustrated I just shut down my computer! Anyway, I didn't quite fall off the face of the earth though.
I'm so glad to see you are all doing well and a huge shout out to Northern! Congrats on your new bub and I am praying for a very happy and healthy 9 months for you!!!
Things are going well here. We just finished a 30-day paleo challenge and I feel better than ever. A month ago I was achy, stiff, puffy looking, acne, and plagued by typical pregnancy ailments. The diet is hard at first but so worth if afterwards. Gluten and sugar (and dairy to a point) are definitely my nemesis. :(
Anyway...this baby is also measuring HUGE on scans. At 33 weeks, he was estimated at a whooping 5lbs 13oz already! DS2 was born at 9lbs 6oz at 42 weeks so I am kind of hoping to get things started with this one around 39 weeks. That's why I am so interested in the evening primrose oil you guys keep talking about. But if it's meant to dilate and efface the cervix, I don't know if it'll do me any good because with DS2 I started dilating at 36 weeks and by 41 weeks I was walking around at 5cm and fully effaced without ever having had a single contraction and no labor in sight.
Anyway...my old OB in TX also strongly advised against EPO but I don't remember why, whereas my OB here in OH said I could try it?!
Lastly, I might be able to do a water birth at the hospital, which I am beyond excited about!!!! Anyone else doing that?

Thanks for sharing your stories, sounds like many of us went into labor during the night (which as I understand is more common anyway).
Northern I am so thrilled for you! I know this has to be incredibly bittersweet for you. You're in my thoughts still and I wish you all the best.
DLTAG I know what you mean about the cramping, it is both bothersome and worrisome. Hopefully it doesn't mean anything.
Girlsway what a bummer coming home to such a mess! That had to be such a rude homecoming from your vacation.
WAG I don't even know what else to say about your neighbor. She is just so beyond crazy and I can't imagine having to deal with her crap! Is there any legal action you can take against her??
Diva so glad to hear from you! My "little" guy is measuring huge too!
I had a follow up appointment today and I'm of course still 100% effaced and now 3cm. As DH said I need to keep my legs crossed and try not to sneeze lol. I'm feeling really good about being 34+ because I know at this point he will most likely do well and possibly not even need to stay in the NICU!

I'm so happy you've made it this far southern! Who knows you might get your wish of having a full term baby :) what are your contractions like?
I'm at a loss for words about my neighbour... I don't know if there is anything I can do! I called my cps worker and told her... She didn't seem to care... So I asked her ismt this a matter of my child well being? He shouldn't be scared to play out side! And his friends shouldn't be afraid to come over... I shouldn't be getting threatend for sticking up for my kids! She said I could complain to the police but really the will get me no where I don't think I could press charges at this point so I'm keeping a log of everything till I have a lot of evidence against her.... Just to think this all started cause we had our garbage can on our drive way! Flipping nut case I tell you
