Really I forgot all about this dragon thing. What was it all about? I remember I read something like it's the year of the dragon and all Asian ppl want a dragon baby because it's very luck ect or something like that?

Yeah, it is Chinese Astrology. WHat year were you born? I was born in 1972, Year of the Rat. My husband is a Tiger, DD1 is a Monkey, DS is a Dog, DD2 is a Tiger, and this baby will be a Dragon.

No gender news, so its waiting another 6 days!!! They are checking placenta again then too but midwife didn't sound too hopeful it will shift :( If it wasnt for it being anterior and having a previous abdo scar I would have a good chance of it moving!

My scan is next Monday, the 7th. I won't get any gender pics--and I probably won't post any other ones either, because I don't want people guessing from the skull. I am just sure the baby is a girl anyway, but I know I will feel more GD if I get confirmation, or any girl guesses. I really hope the baby is healthy!!
Sorry your family has the flu, WP!
Good luck Hobber! I hope all goes well with your scan.
I don't know why you think the baby is a girl?! There is a good chance your baby is a boy!!! :luck:

THanks everyone. I did design the room! People thought i was insane to do a black wall. No one could see my vision, as usual. Then when everyone was over for my shower they just loved it. The tree took me 6 hours and I DID IT MYSELF! ahhhh omg, wanted to punch a puppy!
Getting close and feeling pretty good these days. Feel better then i did 1st and 2nd trimester...only thing is my body is feeling tight...hard to walk at the end of the day.

Hey Fab -how is your placenta?
girl mom-I hope your baby stay in longer! My DD3 was 4.11 6 weeks early and that is so small! All the preemie clothes was so big on her her head fit in my hand and the preemie hats was huge !That tiny dipper was so big on her too. I hated to see her in the NICU and they poked her all the time it was awful she still have all the scares on her heel from the none stop blood checking. It will never go away .

i was really looking forward to that 4th of july birthday too, what kid is born on his due date but dd3 is a valentines day baby and dd6 is a memorial day baby and i was a thanksgiving day baby. so i thought july 4th was pretty cool. i would love to have him then. yea i know 4lbs is small but it seems as if im already 5cm and now i have a bulging bag of water i will most likely have a preemie reguardless of what i do. 31 weeks is way better then the 25 weeks doctors told me. im really proud of myself for making it this far and i have hope for my son.

31 weeks is great! You have done great, girlmom! :) There are lots of good holidays coming up--mother's day, father's day, memorial day (I know you already have a kid with that birthday, but you could have 2). He might choose one of those. :)

girlmom: great to hear you are still pregnant, but it doesn't sound like that is going to last long. 4 lbs is a nice weigh, way better than what he would have been at 25 wks. My SIL had her last 1 wk early and she was only 5lb 1oz....she is still super little though. You guys tons of holiday birthdays in your family!!!
TTC5: 5 more days!!! This going to be big news.
I can not believe you guys and going early, with my first 4 children I was 1-2+ wks late and always induced. With the last 2 they were the day before and on due dates. I took 5W( 5 herbs in pill form that help tone your uterus and get you ready for labor) with those pregnancies and I think it really helped. I just don't want to go over due again.....not even thinking about going early. Of course DH says this one will be early, but he said that last time.....she was born one day early and that doesn't count.
I have all the clothes and EVERTHING (except the carseat and bedding) washed!!! I feel so good about having something ready. I am really trying to get DH to paint the room soon, so I can decorate. There just seems to be way to many important things around the farm right now that come first. I am really itching to get all my cowboy things out.

I think 31 weeks is great, girlmom, you are doing sooo good! You will love having a baby boy!!
Hobbers, thanks for the link on Chinese astrology. My husband and I are horses (but our year puts us in 'earth horses'), DS1 is a pig (well always knew that ), DS2 is a rabbit, and of course this new babe will be a water dragon, like all our babies born in 2012.
It's interesting to read because I def. feel like I fit horse to a T, one of the traits of earth horse is "will work to meet goals, no matter how long it takes." This is very true for me, and it's always fun reading about this stuff...thanks again for link.

can't wait to hear what your girls are, begonia! This stuff is just so much fun and its always neat when it actually connects personality wise! One of the things they say about a pig (DS1) is that he'll be very generous and could be taken advantage of, and that totally resonates, because he is the sweetest, most giving little boy.

Girlmom, NICE JOB! You are doing so great!!!!!
WP, what is that 5W supp you are talking about? I always had late ones too, and a sack of waters that was like made of industrial rubber from drinking EmergenC every day (my doula told me about that). With both girls, they could barely break it and had to do something painful to get it to rupture when I was far along.
I'm excited to see pics of the new babies soon!!!!!

See, this is mine, and so not me at all: Fire Dragons – 1916 and 1976

Lola: It is a supplement that has 5 herbs in it (can not remember which ones off hand) and they all help tone and exercise the uterus for birth. I think there is something like it called "gentle birth". It has helped with the last 2 pregnancies, so I plan to keep it up :) Even after this baby I will still have to check in on you, can't wait to see how things go for you.
We have been so busy the past couple of days. DD1 is doing standardized testing this week and 2 of the other children had dental cleanings today. I am trying to get them all in before June. I only have one left and one of the children needs a small filling. I also had a appt with my midwife today, everything is great. I did lose 3 pds, but I think it has to do with the yuck we had last week, I have one more 2 week appt and then it starts with every week.....ahhhh.

thanks girls, yea im still pregnant. im kinda hoping it just ends soon. i hate this feeling i have. im so scared i won't make it to the hospital on time. im scared my hubby wil be at work and it takes me about half an hour to contact him. im scared the girls will be at school and someone will have to pick them up. i have 30 min labors after my water breaks and right now i have a bulging bag, no way i will ever make it to the big hospital with the nicu. plus this feeling like he's going to fall out all day. he's just sitting on whats left of my cervix and thats not much. i feel like such a crappy mother for not hanging in there like everyone else, i feel even worse for secretly hoping he comes out soon. i hate this guilty feeling i have. i had a 4th of july birth at a birthing center all planned out too, now i just want do something stupid like go for a walk or play outside with my girls. i hate bedrest.
skrimpy
May 10th, 2012, 12:57 PM
Girlmom I am sorry it is so rough for you. Just remember that every day you hang in there and stick in the bed is a day he is getting bigger. You can look up footprints online, see footprints from preemies and term babies. My cousin said looking at how tiny the preemie feet were really helped her to stay in bed and eat what she needed go when she was on bed rest.
Can you get some books to read with your girls in bed? Or watch special videos with them? Play a board game? Something to feel like you're doing a great job mothering them! You are awesome for helping your LO grow healthy and strong.
As for DH, does he have a cell phone? Or can you get him to pick up a prepaid one he can always have with him under the circumstances?
Are you having nurse check-ins via phone or any monitoring? My cousin's doctor ordered this for her, too, and she found it very comforting to know the nurse was monitoring everything and she (my cousin) could call anytime she was concerned. I think the device she used was called a HUAM but I don't remember what it stands for... It monitored for contractions though, so she and her nurse KNEW when she needed to get to the hospital ASAP. She used it at set times every day.
Flava
May 10th, 2012, 01:37 PM
girlmom-I also got my preemie in a hospital with no nicu because there was no time to go anywhere else. But they all have incubators and they took my baby next day up to a very good hospital and there she even needed to have breathing tube to help her.
I think if she would needed tubes in at birth they would have take her right away.
So don't worry if you don't make it to that hospital they will take the baby for sure.
But lets hope he will not need any of this.
WashingtonPromise
May 10th, 2012, 01:53 PM
girlmom: I agree with Skrimpy, everyday counts. You have a ton of good reasons that you just want to get this all over with, but he will be coming soon. How often are they monitoring you? I thought you were still in the hospital. So, you are back at home on bedrest. You are a wonderful mother, a lot of women would have geiven up weeks ago. I am sure you daughters understand that you bedrest is not permanent. Before long this whole situation will be over and things will start to go back to normal. Big Hugs.
Lola: I make my butter in a blender, it is sweet cream butter. You can use a churn, but you have to leave the milk at room temp+ for it to culture and we don't really like the cultured/sour taste. MMMMM love fresh butter.
TTC5: what a big day, can't wait to see some pics.
I had a ton of HB conx yesterday. I started to pack my bags just incase. I still am no where near ready, but I did take the bags out of the closet :) And put the baby book in one.
Do you ladies have a check list for your hospital bag or do you just wing it?
What do you bring for the baby?
I normally have a list and I need to get it going.

i go in once a week and trust me i look forward to my doc apps. just so i can get out of the house. i get shots, meds, i get a cervix check once a week, i get hooked up for nonstress tests to see how baby is taking all these meds. then they put these things around my lower legs which are suppose to keep me from getting blood clots.
now im getting gestational dibetes because i can't move and i just lay around like a big fat slug all day. so now i have to prick my finger 5 times a day and write down everything i eat. i just really hope i won't have to do insulin. i don't think i can stab myself with needles.

thanks girls, yea im still pregnant. im kinda hoping it just ends soon. i hate this feeling i have. im so scared i won't make it to the hospital on time. im scared my hubby wil be at work and it takes me about half an hour to contact him. im scared the girls will be at school and someone will have to pick them up. i have 30 min labors after my water breaks and right now i have a bulging bag, no way i will ever make it to the big hospital with the nicu. plus this feeling like he's going to fall out all day. he's just sitting on whats left of my cervix and thats not much. i feel like such a crappy mother for not hanging in there like everyone else, i feel even worse for secretly hoping he comes out soon. i hate this guilty feeling i have. i had a 4th of july birth at a birthing center all planned out too, now i just want do something stupid like go for a walk or play outside with my girls. i hate bedrest.
thats sounds really scary, I hope everything goes well for you and you get a lovely healthy baby! hang in there we're all really proud of you xx

girlmom: I agree with Skrimpy, everyday counts.
Theres a hospital check list in the pregnancy talk section:

hope it helps you :)

Hi girls :HH:
I had another scan today ...Baby looks healthy and is growing :) very cute :HH:
Last time I talked with my ob/gyn she really made me feel better and told me not to worry ..
She told me that most of the time the placenta will move later ..she looked at my file and said I have partial placenta praevia. She told me to take it easy, no lifting, no sex, no exercise. She made me feel really comfortable and gave me good information.
Today- Just right before the trans vaginal scan the u/s tech scared me (Like always). She asked me what my ob says about the whole thing so I explain everything to her and told her that I don't have placenta accerta, but partial placenta praevia and it will move later, but she said placenta accreta is suspected. AND she always talks about having my uterus removed :(.
Ultrasound showed low placenta today, but not covering my cervix anymore. U/S tech told me the placenta has moved .. I think she was a little bit surprised, lol. I'm happy and I hope things keep getting better and better.
She wants to see me again in 4 weeks and I have an MRI in 3 weeks. Just to make sure that everything is going well.

My placenta is looking good. It is 15mm away from the cervix. Sono said what he thinks has happened is that last scan I probably had a contraction which made placenta look or get pushed down to the cervix. It happened today was so weird seeing a contraction on the scan! It needs to move 5mm to be considered safe but they wont check for another 10 weeks now and he said it should be able to shift those last few mm up :) So FX it does, I am feeling MUCH better now!

Thank you so much everyone for all the good thoughts and prayers, It means a lot to me.
I was put on meds to stop the contractions and thanks God they worked. My baby boy looks great. The contractions is stopped and the bleeding only light brown, but only when I wipe. The Ultrasound showed everything normal, close cervix and the placenta is not low.
I Saw my doctor this morning and she thinks because of the placenta moved up this can causes bleeding. Even the ultrasound tech said that to me.
Now I am released from the hospital and back home and told just to be on strict bed rest and take Brethine.

MFC so glad all is well, FX for smooth sailing from here on out for you and your little bean.
Bumble congrats!!!
Tink FWIW I had scans thru my pg to check for weight due to the whole history of big babies already... and they were pretty spot on. Really though, in my experience, there's no issues with having a larger baby in terms of delivery, so long as they don't have a big ol' head, LOL! Fat squishes. My 7lb 13oz'er and my 9lb 12oz'er didn't feel any different to me coming out, and if anything I healed faster after the biggest one. DD3 doesn't have much chub though bc in addition to being heavy she's also long so it's all spread out. Your double-chinned little man sounds precious.
WP I didn't take EPO but have heard it is a-ok to take when you're in those last weeks.
Dloui you're strong to wait! I think it has to be one of life's great experiences. I'm too emotionally immature to make it though  There was a girl in our old blue crew on IG who waited with her 3rd pg (had 2 DD) and they had a boy, and she said it was AMAZING. FX you get the same experience.
Yay Girlmom!!!

I started inserting EPO x2 caps and Starflower Oil x2 caps nightly right up near my cervix from 36 weeks with DD#5. First one to come naturally before their due date (39 weeks) and labour was only 45mins from first contraction!! Will do it again if I ever get pregnant.

dloui: Are you going to try and obsess over nub shots or do like Hobber and not look into anything? It would be a wonderful surprise, especially if it is a boy.
Lola: Did the EPO work for you? Or did you still go over due?
Thanks for the replies about the EPO. I did use it a couple pregnancies ago, but last time I was already soft and didn't
I have already obsessed about what side I ovulated from and what the heart rate was , I don't know anything about nub shots or skull theory and since my two girls have very different skulls I don't think I will read to much into that, all I really have is OWT's. I am like most mom's that have all of the same gender kids, you just don't think you can get one of the opposite gender so I guess we will see in the next 6 1/2 months

MFC: What a relief, good luck with the bed rest....that can be so hard with other children at home.
Tink: I have a friend that was told her baby was 9+ pds and was induced 2 wks early and the baby was barely 6 pds. Is your cervix closed and high? Do they expect you to go early?
Flava: Your pregnancy will be over before you know it. When is your next scan?
TTC5: Did you get paid yet and buy a bunch of blue.
dloui: When is your next appt? Are you finding out gender?
girlmom: any updates?
Not much to report, I think the baby may have dropped. My pelvic bone hurt so bad yesterday, I could barely walk.
Has anyone used Evening Primrose Oil in late pregnancy to soften the cervix? I might try that once I am 39+ wks.
I would use it sooner than 39 :) I used it and so did my sister, it really helps!

TTC5: When do you think I should start taking EPO for a good effect?
dloui: Look at 5, there is always hope. But, I do understand about guarding your heart. A healthy baby is all that really matters in the end anyway.
Tomorrow is my birthday and DH is taking the day off to take me to Olive Garden and an antique store. Of course he also booked an appt at the dentist to get a tooth filled, but I just have to take whatever thoughtfulness he has :) I love Olive Garden's Tiramisu, it is the only dessert I have liked this pregnancy.

Flava - I just saw your posts here too. I'm really sorry if you felt ignored on the due date thread - I honestly have no recollection of you mentioning CVS, but that thread moves so quickly these days with all those Aussie ladies chatting through the night while we sleep that I often just skim through the posts, so I might have missed yours. I'm really happy you're having a healthy baby, and if you heard girl, I'm sorry for the feelings you must be experiencing now. It's has nothing to do with the gender. Im not happy because I still sick and I still feel the same way like before.About my weight the pregnancy 1 more kid starting all over ect. Only i don't post about it anymore because when I was looking for comfort or a friendly word or I don't know just something to make me feel better all I got is I must be depressed and go see a therapist. That did not help at all. I also kinda feel alone and left out .But that's ok. I can't help it if I don't jump up and down from happiness like I "suppose to" do.
So really Im just waiting every day to feel normal. Not even good just ok finally.
But thanks for asking :)

Hugs Flava, I'm sorry you're still not feeling well. Pregnancy is physically and emotionally draining. I always say I love it, because I LOVE that there is a life growing inside of me, but at the same time it makes me melancholy too. Hope as the pregnancy progresses you get more excited about it.

Flava, I think I told you this before, so sorry if I am repeating myself. But it took me until about 14 weeks to get really excited, and look forward to the baby coming. I bet once you are feeling better and your m/s goes away, you will feel happier about things. No one meant anything bad by wondering if you were depressed--we just care about you and worry, that's all. :hugs:

Flava, I hope you feel better very soon.. I gain too much weight during my pregnancy and the time I concieved this baby. Now I look HUGE! I have never been this big in my whole Life. I didn't get any stretch marks with my DD2 or DS1, but now with this pregnancy I got more stretch marks. Not only the weight gain, but fatigue, Low back pain, etc,. That's all okay with me because I am the one who wants to have a baby and planned this pregnancy and your pregnancy was planned too!! Don't worry about your weight gain during pregnancy. Its natural. You’ll lose it all and you know that. Our babies are more important then all of the above :) It's all worth it once they're born :HH: Just think about it that way.
As far as the gender ITA with PP! CVS is like 99% correct on gender so why wait for the pictures?! I'm guessing the baby is a little BOY :xy: :running: Share with us whenever you feel like it , We are so excited for you hon :HH:

afm, I'm quite happy lovin little Davey atm:), but am finding myself readiing ttc threads to often when I pop on here and so want to stick to my guns of no ttc until I have the loft converted or at least started, but Davey has been sleeping the night through for weeks?!! and that usually brings back my cycles, I have been spotting for the last few days so I know I'm gonna have to be really strong to not just have an tiny lickle attempt lol, my eldest would kill me I'm sure!!
On a slightly different note my DH, and eldest 3 boys have gone away for the night for my eldest sons 1st boxing match, I'm so nervous at having them away and in a hotel. Flava hun, big hugs for you. I felt so similar during my preg with Honor. I wasn't really happy to be pregnant at that time and had a horrible first trimester. I gain so much weight with her too... it was my hardest pregnancy by far. I was so worried about her arrival and that the feelings would never go away and that I'd never lose the weight. But when she was born I was just so in love and she has been so wonderful, she brings me joy every day. And the baby weight came off, girl, I lost over 40lbs! Until I got knocked up again I was looking hot, LOL!!! Now DH says I already look pg again. Oh well. But you WILL get the weight off, even though you've had plenty of babies. It's so hard when you're pg and feel icky though. Just know that we know what you are going through and it will be over and you'll have your body back... plus a sweet baby!!

So DH and I are calling the baby Riceball. Isn't that cute, LOL!!! I love my little Riceball already :p We told the two oldest kids about the baby and they're so excited.
I am going to go nuts with this moving stuff. We're taking stuff to a storage unit tomorrow so we can list our house we're in now... we want it to be more open and spacious. I can't believe how much stuff I've packed up. I packed up all the "non-essentials" from the kitchen to help the cabinets look spacious and organized and ended up with like 10 boxes! I love him so much but my DH is a huge packrat and won't let me donate stuff. Even if we never use it and he never cooks!! I've packed 30 (THIRTY) boxes of books!!! Most DH's. I love the man, but geez. We're taking the bookshelves and a couple of other pieces of furniture plus the boxes tomorrow.
I'm dreading that but can't wait to see the house without it all and once we get it nice and scrubbed. Really praying it sells quickly.
We close on the new house next Friday morning, and that's exciting. DH's mom is staying with the kiddos so that will be nice not to have to worry about them.
I also bought a little Doppler from a friend selling hers. I've wanted one the last few pregnancies but you know, they're not needed or anything. I decided I'd treat myself this time around though, and maybe help with bonding some :)

FLAVA - OMG woman you are too nasty...I have been hanging out waiting for you to get to 15-16 weeks and have an u/s to find out what you're cooking in there and you have known for weeks!! Out of everyone here YOU are the main one I have been waiting with my breath held to see how you went cause you are the only one like me with a lot of girls already AND previous failed sways!! I don't go on the due boards cause it's taking me forever to get pregnant and it's depressing!!
It's normal to feel so shit when you have bad sickness...My last pregnancy I was still vomiting daily at 39 weeks...makes it so hard to enjoy your pregnancy or be excited! As for weight there is nothing stopping you for doing a healthy balanced diet while pregnant. I did with my last pregnancy as swaying had made me fat....and I weighed the same as the day I got my BFP....the day I delivered...went home lighter for a change!!

ELP, I would love to see your boys' boxing videos! Sorry your son lost the first match.... sounnds like he did well despite the other boy winning! And how lucky that Davey is sleeping through the night already--what a champ!
Hobber! I've spent all this time trying to just get my boys fights from the whole shows line up itms!! I think I may have done it? I'll post a link in a while in the members section if you want to see them:) The clips will be from what is called a skills bout where there is no official winner, but they did so well, bare with me I'll be a little while longer!

Skrimpy - We are packing for a move out of state but renting our current house. DH got upset when I started putting a bunch of stuff in a box that we haven't used in 5y's and that were replaced with something nicer. How many blenders do I need! My kitchen is not very big and so far I have donated 1/2 of it and packed up another 1/4 of what we don't use much and the cabinets still look full. I am thinking of setting fire to the kitchen and calling it a day!
Flava - Please Tell Us! I am so sad I keep crying for you when I should be thinking about my own scan tomorrow and packing.

Skrimpy, your DH sounds like me! I am such a pack rat, and I hate getting rid of stuff! Last time we moved, DH "lost" a few boxes, and he swears they are still in our storage shed, but I know he threw them out.
I love that you are calling your baby Riceball! That is really cute. :) Good luck selling your house--hope it goes fast! Clearing out stuff really does help; we did that when we sold our last house and it sold to the 3rd person who looked at it. :)
