Hopefully the fact that I'm exhausted, nothing tastes good except animal crackers and twizzlers and everything stinks are good signs. On top of the cramping and pulling.

Tara, that is about a doubling time of every 45 hours. That isn't bad at all.

Tarasue, I had my bloods done at what Dr thought was about 4 weeks and my hcg was around 548 and then 2 days later my hgc was around 1028.

She said as long as the number were doubling every couple of days they were happy.

Im still not sure of my dates as I fell pregnant on the pill and what they are saying to take as my last period im not 100% was a real period.

Basically nurse changed my pill and on 1st August got my period and started taking it (my cycles are normally 30-33days) AF didnt show (nothing stops my periods except pregnancy) was getting negatives on tests. I read on net if I stopped pill my AF would show so day 40 stopped and on day 42 period so I started pill again and DH and I where extra careful used protection for 5 days etc and then on evening of day25 I just got a feeling I needed to Poas (thinking im crazy so late at night and so early in my cycle) crazy me did it and bfp!!!

The only other thing that this could be was I had uti and Dr put me on anti biotics but I was told these anti biotics wouldn't interfere with the pill.

Tarasue I would also take your symptoms as a good sign x

Anybody else super bitch? I am beyond crabby these days, no patience for my kids or husband. 😓Feeling very guilty about it all and hope this doesn't last! I was a happy glowing pregnant person with my last pregnancies...this time, so far, I am dark and moody!

2boys - Im always a super bitch so I couldn't tell ya :) I often wonder about my non pregnant hormone levels though because with DS I can honestly say that was the first time I felt level in YEARS. Then right back to highs and lows (depression/anxiety).

Boysway- With your last Heartburn pregnancy was baby born with a full head of hair? There are some pretty good stats on that old wives tale something like 80% With DS when they bathed him they put his hair in a little mohawk he had so much! I had to have DH tote the recliner into the bedroom so I could sleep somewhat upright or else it was just constant burning!

tara- I did the first time we found out the BFP. And we weren't like swinging from the chandelier either! I think its just the stretching of the round ligaments plus the movements and it just equals a perfect storm! However if you are getting sharp cervical pains from it back off a bit!

Linz - My nausea kicked in at exactly 6 weeks also! I don't have any meds, but I basically feel crappy all the time and the only thing that helps even a little bit is stuffing my face constantly.

2boys - I'm also a moody bitch! I'm trying not to be so crabby because DH hates it when I'm pregnant (and is using this as an excuse not to want 3 kids), but it's hard. I have such a short fuse. My two year old is being especially difficult this week - fighting me on his naps, eating, etc and it's hard to have the patience to deal with him.

Well im just back from my booking in appt with my midwife and have my 1st scan booked in for 5th Dec....Im so excited to see our bubba :D

Also midwife told me they would support me in home birth after my last birth was c-section and doctor said I wouldn't be allowed home birth. I have just got to make it to 37weeks which I don't know if I will be able to as my last 2 have been premmies. Fingers crossed :fingers:

I'm a super bitch too..... Actually, that's how my husband found out I was pregnant again. I had these big grand ideas on how to tell him we were pregnant. We got in a silly fight over the music I was listening to and I got really nasty with him, almost kicked him:( so ashamed. He yelled "I don't know what's wrong with you, you need medication!" I yelled back "I'm f-ing pregnant!!" Great start huh:(. I can't believe the way I acted!

My nausea seems to be easing a little too, but im still super tired :( im having a nap in the day and in bed by 8pm in the evenings. My boobs are massively sore too, at times I just want to cry they are hurting so much.

Except yesterday as I had a night out with school mums so I missed my nap having my hair done and got in at 1am this morning and to say I was super super exhausted would be a huge understatement. And a night out without drinking so a couple of then guessed I was pregnant.

Good luck 2 boys ! Before I got pregnant I wanted to do maternti21 but now that I'm actually pregnant I'm terrified and can't stomach doing it! I'm just not ready to know right now. I have a gut feeling this is another DS and I really don't feel like coming to terms with it until after the holidays. I understand why your nerves are so high! Fingers crossed for you!!

Ladies I finally tried the unisom + B6 combination last night when I went to bed that I read was a wonderful MS cure (it's actually the only MS cure approved by the US FDA and approved by the ACOG). For the first morning in a week I feel pretty good this morning. It might be coincidence but I'll definitely be taking more unisom + B6 tonight :)

Its normal for the nausea to go down getting closer to your second trimester business! Enjoy the relief before the next symptoms take its place lol! I get that tight pain too when trying to stretch in bed. Its round ligament pain from everything shifting and moving around. Just be mindful of how far is too far for your own comfort!

My nausea hasn't been nearly as bad this time as it was with my DDs so I haven't resorted to that but sometimes I consider it since it has such rave reviews & it is FDA approved.

Yes I know what you mean. I feel not ready to know but at the same time I am dying to know. It was very easy decision for me to have they test done tho... So I guess I am more ready than I think. I took this with DD, but now they have a prescription that is the same. I tried taking it, but it made me so tired and out of it the next day. I was going to go back to the b6 and unison but it made me throw up and now I can't even look at it. My nausea is definitely not lightening up. It is all day, every day. Never goes away. kasey - I'm so sorry you are still sick and unisom doesn't help. I can completely relate to how crappy it is to feel sick all freaking day - it's miserable!

I took my unisom + b6 again last night and woke up feeling great again. It's a miracle ! Last week I was so sick I could barely function, all food made me sick, couldn't work out, etc. Today I ran 4 miles and ate normal food all day. I'm so happy and really hope this continues to work for me. I'd love to keep running this pregnancy but it was too hard to be active when I was so incredibly sick last week.

Can't wait to start seeing the gender results from the ladies doing the blood tests next month! I wish I had the guts! I'm starting to get really excited about the prospect of 2 little guys, but I know it will be hard when all my friends and family are disappointed and won't be happy and excited for me :( . My family has said many many times how badly they hope the next is a girl so I know a second boy will be a let down.

Glad the unisom+B6 is working for you. I finally resorted to buying a case of ginger ale today. I hardly ever drink soda but I was quite queezy to I resorted to that.

I am sorry your family is not going to be happy about another boy. I wish people would realize how hard that makes it on us. Their is a lady on here whose mom went nuts with joy when she found out her daughter was having DS2 even thought they both would have loved a girl. The mom was so excited to have any grandchildren that she really didn't care. Why can't all families be like that????

DH family has been awful to me about not having a boy. DH finally told MIL to shut up last summer & stop the lame ass comments of "why don't you have a boy?" or "when are you going to have a boy?". Every single time I saw her she said those things to me. When she didn't say those to me I knew something was up.

MIL & FIL have 7 kids. Thus far I am the only DIL/DD who have yet to produce a boy. Talk about being made to feel like a failure.

We are visiting them for Christmas so I need to have an inkling of what i am dealing with which is why I will have a scan at 13 weeks (3 days before Christmas) and get some guesses on here. No one beside DH even knows I am pregnant yet. If its another girl no one will know the gender until birth.

I can't understand family remarks like that. I am sorry any of you have to hear that. I am starting to warm up more and more to another boy. Hi ladies! It looks like I get to join you here after all. I had a false surge earlier this month and an evap line on a test, then got weeks full of negatives (as I O'd a week later than I thought and was probably like 1/2/3 DPO when I began testing LOL) and thankfully was lucky enough to get pregnant even though we probably BD 3 days before O :) I'm hoping for a sticky bean and that the fact that I completely stopped doing exercise in the 2WW and began eating more normally didn't ruin everything. I just couldn't make myself work out, and I felt such a strong desire to eat a bit more so I did. According to FF my due date should be August 6th but I wasn't charting and stopped doing OPKs after my initial surge so it isn't for sure but seems about right. I hope everyone here gets their desired gender :luck:

I'm still getting weekly blood tests to make sure all is increasing as it should. I think I'm 5w2d, not much in the way if ms yet, just waves of nausea, I give it a week before it's full blown ick.

Boysway...I work at night too.
I used to work full time at night but now its part time. I feel your pain with the GD diagnosis. I think the hardest part is when you can't sleep, food makes up the difference. If you are limited on what you can eat that makes it even harder to eat because anything that takes too much effort when you are tired just isn't going to happen!
Good luck...the holidays are hard for anyone trying to watch their calorie intake. It has already been a huge chore for me as I started out 30lbs heavier than I have ever been and trying to keep the calories down is not going well with all the goodies around. I am trying to exercise too but with morning sickness who wants to do anything but lay on the couch?

Congrats and welcome to all the new bfp!!

Auzair, I can't imagine waiting any longer than absolutely necessary to find out gender, but if you think waiting until the birth will make you less crazy, then you should totally do that.

My doctor guessed boy (60% confidence) at my 11 week ultrasound, but I am hoping she is wrong. It's still early, so I have ruled out hearing pink, but I'm lowering my expectations. We have another ultrasound scheduled for 14 weeks which is the earliest the "non medical ultrasound places" will do a gender scan.

Boysway, so sorry to hear about the gestational diabetes. That's a real bummer. I've been so sick with morning sickness that I can't imagine having to try to manage my diet beyond just trying not to throw whatever I eat up. I am literally eating perpetually just to try to keep my tummy moderately under control.

I'm having harmony done at 11 weeks, we've never done testing because I've been to worried about the risks but a blood test is safe and reliable. I want to know as soon as possible because while it is nice to hope and enjoy this time where it could be a girl I know for me personally it will be better to accept it is a third boy as soon as possible. I've already gotten rid (sold and given away) quite a lot of the baby boy clothes so that I can still have the fun experience of shopping for cute clothes whether it is a boy or girl. I won't lie though a part of me thinks/hopes this is a girl and will be pretty sad that I never get to buy a dress. I just have to hope for lots of grandchildren! :)

The Unisom/B6 combo completely cured me of my morning sickness with DS1. If I forgot to take it at night then I'd be dying and throwing up the next morning in the shower! With DS2, it helped, but didn't take it away completely. I was still nauseous daily till 26 weeks! It was at that point that my midwife said to try drinking dandelion root tea-- that it helps morning sickness that lasts after the first trimester, which she thinks is related to the liver not functioning properly. Within 24 hours of trying the dandelion root tea my morning sickness was gone for good! I continued drinking a cup a day till I delivered.

Morning sickness and tons of food are not a great combination. I've been sick every day for 6 weeks. I am so ready to be past the first trimester. Half way through dinner the sautéed mushroom side turned on me. I normally love mushrooms, but it was like all of a sudden the texture just grossed me out.

Welcome and congrats to all recent bfp's, wish you a happy and healthy 9 months.

missxo143: It depends on your insurance and where you live. For us in Germany, Harmony is the cheapest and costs about 450 Euros.

HappyLea: Sickness is the worst and with 4 boys and being pregnant I can't imagine! I hope this weekend is nice and relaxing for all of you. Does your hubby help out a bit?

Christi: How much longer do you think you'll have morning sickness?

I'm fine, I'm still pigging out quite often after depriving myself so long on the girl diet. It feels amazing to look at a menu and order whatever I want, or have seconds, etc.I'm also still taking a IC test every day. This will almost certainly be our last baby and my last pregnancy so I am trying to soak it all up. I'm having SO much trouble not telling anyone though. It was my preference that we try and wait longer then we have in the past to tell people. My SIL will be doing IVF in the beginning of Dec and so far that has worked both times the first cycle and I really want her to have the experience of telling everyone she is pregnant before me (I always got pregnant 6-9 months ahead of her). But it is hard. Both DH and I are just really excited which is a nice feeling. Especially considering even just 4 months ago he would have told you there was no way ever we were having a third!

HappyLea
November 28th, 2014, 07:17 AM
Junie - DH is amazing he helps lots, the one thing I can't do is clean up sick as I will just be sick doing it...lol! DH came home from work to give me a hand with them the other day so I could take one to the drs as he had an ear infection. I hope the sickness bug passes soon it is just the worse :(

How hard it must be for you to keep it a secret but so lovely of you to do that for your SIL.

Thank you Junie, I am going to start looking into what my options may be :)

I just thought I would share what I learned about the prenatal testing. The company that offers the MaterniT21 test for almost $1000 USD also offers a test called VisibiliT which looks for Trisomy 18&21 (Down's syndrome) and gender at a cost of $425 USD. Depending on your age and other risk factors found by your OB all or part of the cost is covered, or none and you pay.

This is the least expensive route I found. The test can be done at 10 weeks and they can service internationally from the U.S.

HappyLea, oh no to the sickness. I hope it leaves the house completely without you getting it. Never fun being sick or looking after sick family especially when pregnant.

Afm, only nausea for me at the moment (touch wood). I seem to only get the nausea when needing to eat. I was thinking of how ironic it is me being diagnosed with GD. For 10 months I was eating more, making sure I had a lot of protein and carbs. Now, I have the GD and I am having to watch all the carbs I am eating. I am only allowed 12 serves of carbs a day. That's about 30grams of carbs per meal and snack. I have lost 1 kg in 6 days. I think I am only able to eat about 1/3 of what I was eating. No wonder I have lost weight. I'm still struggling to remember to take note of when I start eating so I know when I to check my bsl but, I am getting there. It's only early days yet.

Sounds like everyone had a nice thanksgiving (aside from a little morning sickness).

I thought I would chime in on the early gender prenatal tests. In the us, if your doctor orders the harmony test directly from ariosa (the manufacturer), the test is $195 if you don't have insurance or free depending on the insurance (mine didn't cover it, but it was still free because ariosa covers it when insurance doesn't.) The only additional cost is the cost of the blood draw. But you have order it directly from the company and not lab corp. (the lab they outsource to).

The only problem my doctors office had was actually getting the kit directly from ariosa because my doctor already had kits through lab corp. (which costs $825 for the harmony test). But they were able to get the kit, but it took some work to make it happen.

Christi, did you do harmony? or are you doing it? Wouldn't those results come before the ultrasound? I'm sure I'll hear boy, I'm guessing it will be apparent on the ultrasound already super early. In Germany it is illegal for them to tell you gender before 14 or 16 weeks, but they will tell you the harmony results earlier so I will have to rely on those. I'm preparing myself as best I can but I think it is one of those things where it just has to happen and then I will deal with it and move forwards :)

Junie, I haven't done the harmony test yet. My doctor ordered it, but the kit didn't come with the requisition form for the blood draw. So, by the time I will actually get the results, I could have a ultrasound. I'm still going to do the harmony test for all the other info, but it won't be before the ultrasound (probably).

Tarasue, I've had the same problem so I started taking 1/2 of a unisom (doxylamine) at night with vitamin b6 to help my morning sickness, but it also works great for helping me sleep. It's class A for pregnancy, which is considered safe to use during pregnancy.

Tara...I am a total insomniac too. I keep chalking it up to my final exams this week but its driving me nuts. I have always been so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open in the first trimester.

I have been taking the Vit B6 which really helps with nausea, maybe I will throw in some unisom because nothing is more aggravating than not sleeping when you have the chance to sleep!

Yeah now she stressed me out, i googled and it seems like my beta number is above average for how far along I was at the time.

Nahri
December 2nd, 2014, 12:49 AM
And betas go in ranges which is what most of them dont tell you. Because everyone's body is different you would fit into a range somewhere and then the big thing is did they go up like they were supposed to. One beta test can only tell you something if it is seriously low but without a comparison afterwards they can't even call it fully accurate. Usually the recommended is test again in 2-3 days if they are concerned so they can see how it changed. If it stayed the same or dropped then you've got a problem. And without knowing how far along you are?! NO accuracy there.

Ladies that are taking Unisom is it a really hard knock out or just enough to let you sleep? I don't want to take something that is going to kick me so hard I don't hear if my 2 year old gets up in the middle of the night.

Christi
December 2nd, 2014, 01:11 AM
Nahri, for me, the unisom puts me out, but it doesn't prevent me from waking up to go to the bathroom or respond to my son (21 months) if necessary. However, my son sleeps through the night, so I don't really have to get up with him (yay!). Personally, I think taking unisom if I knew I had to get up in the middle of the night would be miserable because it is hard to get up with the unisom if it has been less than 7 hours. I find that if I take it at bedtime (around 9pm), it wears off around 4 or 5am. Since I get up at 6:30 or 7 most days, I'm not groggy when I get up. I only take 1/2 tablet at night.

As for the beta numbers, I agree with everyone else, it's all about the doubling, not the specific number. Plus, most people aren't probably in to see their doctor at 10-11 dpo, so it was probably low for what the nurse is used to seeing for women who are further along. At this point, I wouldn't worry about it. The nurse just sounds like she wasn't paying attention to the details.

Nahri- When I took unisom with my last pregnancy, I took half a tablet before going to bed and while I was definitely drowsy in the night (think 2-3 glasses of wine) I was still able to deal with emergencies if my son woke up in the night. If you get up every night multiple times it would probably be pretty frustrating though as I imagine you would feel super tired. If you're able to sleep through 80% of the time then I would try it out.I also was never drowsy during the day (or at least not due to the unisom).

My appt is in two hours, I've been a blubbering mess since my phone call from the dr. office. I've been doing lots of googling and that hasn't given me much hope. I swayed for a girl, I know if this baby survives I won't care anymore. In all my googling I learned that other women in this situation that had a viable pregnancies, ended up with boys. Boys hormone levels are lower than girls. I have been having headaches, emotional, nausea on an off during the day(especially if I let myself get hungry) and some cramping. Bbs not really soar bloated and I have gained 5 pounds since I got my first positive. It's all in Gods hands at this point, I guess it's always in his hands! Now I just pray to The Lord that he gives me the strength for what ever hand I'm dealt.

Ds2 turns two and my nephew turns three on Friday, we are having a big double birthday party and family here all weekend.... I just don't know what my mental and physical state will be at that point. We haven't told a sole we were pregnant, that was going to be revealed this weekend as well.

Tarasue it's hard to have such uncertainty and I hope you are able to sleep and take care of yourself with such stress. It's unfortunate, I think, that the technology of our medical system brings such worry and doubt. Without the bloodwork and very early ultrasound, you would be happily pregnant and not having all this stress. If a loss is in store for you, I do hope it occurs sooner than later as I can't imagine the agony this is causing you. Take care of yourself and know that we all support you!

Tomorrow is my 12 week scan, I'm so excited but also very nervous. With my boys I had early scan for either dating or me having pain and I haven't seen this little one yet. I hope to get a good nub shot but I never have before.

I have my second betas in:) 1 was either 9 or 10dpo at 95, 2 was either 16/17 dpo at 4,173 :) My doctor is happy with that and said they will call me back to schedule my first Ultrasound the week of December 15th I would be around 6 weeks :) very exciteddd :)

Business, I totally feel you. My doctor is leaning boy based on my 11 week ultrasound. She said only 60/40 lean blue, but I'm still having to prepare myself to hear we are having another boy. This is our last, so if it is a boy then there are no more chances of pink for me. We have a gender ultrasound scheduled for December 14th if the harmony results don't come back sooner.

Thank you ladies for all your kind comments. I am trying to stay positive but be realistic at the same time. Chances are if the baby goes to term it will have some genetic abnormalities. Right now I am just praying for god to give me strength for whatever is to happen and that nature takes care of itself and the doctors don't ask me to make an impossible decision after my sono next Wednesday.

I am going to bow out now. I will keep following you all but will keep my issues away as I don't want to cause any of you all unnecessary worry or stress with your pregnancies.

Best of luck to you all and fx you all get the little princes or princesses you desire!!

Tarasue, we are all thinking of you, and please don't feel like you have to leave the group. You need to do what is best for you at this moment, and if that means stepping away from the due date message boards, then you should do that. But I wouldn't worry about stressing the rest of us out. We are hear to support everyone, for better or for worse--including you! I am so sorry that you are going through all this and I pray to God that you are never faced with an impossible decision too.

Business, I don't know much about Ramzi, but if Kasey is right and you are too far along, then I hope that provides you with some comfort that you will still get your little boy. I am trying to treat my doctor's early prediction of a boy for me as an opportunity for me. The baby's gender will be what it is will be, and if its a boy, I will accept that reality. My doctor knew I was trying for a girl, so by telling me she was leaning boy, it was lowering my expectations and slowly easing me into the idea that I will only have boys. But, it isn't set in stone, so if she is right, I won't be so devastated when I have a later ultrasound (or get my Harmony results) and it says boy. She already prepared me for that possibility. In contrast, if my doctor is WRONG, and I end up having a girl, it will be the most gloriously exciting news ever and in some ways, it will make it even better than if my expectations had not been lowered. So, in some ways, I think she may have told me her gender guess on purpose (I didn't ask her before she offered her opinion), because there is really no downside. If she is right, she's already adjusted me to the idea, if she is wrong, what do i care--I get my girl! So, anyways, I hope this paradigm can bring you some relief. It is helping me while I agonizingly wait to find out for sure.

Oh Tara, I still have hope for you. I was in your exact same position in Oct but there was no heartbeat and my hcg took a nosedive after 2 days so I'm crossing my fingers that your little one's heart just started beating a day or so ago and all will be normal next week. Hang in there. It's soooo hard to be in limbo. (((HUGS)))

Tara-- sorry I'm not up on all the I for but how many weeks are you? My doc won't even see me until next Monday (8 weeks along) bc before that hcg and "is there a heartbeat?" Can be so stressful and misleading. It's been hard to wait in the dark not knowing but at the same time I know I'd be a wreck if I went in at 6 weeks and numbers were off or they didn't find a heart beat right away. Hugs I hope this works out for you!

Thanks for your support! I will update you all later in the day, fx I'm just overlooking things ...

I asked atomic about this a while back, she said there is absolutely no way to tell gender from hormone numbers so hang in there!

If you're looking for something milder try Benadryl (diphenhydramine) it only lasts about 4 hours and you won't be dead to the world. Plus my OB said it's safe suring pg and BFing.

Yes, diphenhydramine is relatively safe to take during pregnancy, it's class B, but it isn't as safe as unisom, which is class A. And of course, if you combine unisom with vitamin B6, it helps with morning sickness. But both are good suggestions. Good luck for everyone struggling with morning sickness and insomnia!

Well today is my 12 week scan and I can't sleep with excitement and nerves. Just over 5 hours to wait now :D

Im so nervous as by now with my boys I have had an early scan for dating of other medical reasons and this one I haven't even though this has been my worst for dating as I fell pregnant on pill. We are going with me being 12 weeks today but I could be anything upto 17 weeks but going with the earlier as my hcg levels supported that at the time they were drawn.

I also feel that as this pregnancy wasn't planned it is kind of out of my control and keep thinking something is going to be wrong :(

Yes hb of 82. Based on lmp I should be 9 weeks, off when I think I ovulated(just because of ovulation symptoms in relation to +preg test) 6 1/2 weeks, baby measures 5 1/2 weeks.

Just that the baby isn't growing as he should be. My last period was sept. 30(also the last day I took my birth control pill) according to that date I would be 9w2d.
Since it was my first cycle of the bcp I don't think I ovulated until November 2 or 3, I remember having horrendous cramps on the night of nov. 2, that's why I think that's when I ovulated. That would put me at 6w4d. At the ultrasound on Wednesday baby was measuring only 5w4d. That he is measuring a week behind doesn't worry me as much as my hcg levels only went from 1248 to 1732 in 10 days. They are supposed to be doubling every 48 hours or so, so instead of being at 1732 they should be around 9000. That's why I feel this pregnancy isn't going to last. Everyone, including doctors, are preparing me for the worst. I am praying for a miracle, which it what it would be at this point, but realistically I am just hoping nature takes care of itself sooner than later.

How is everything ladies?
My nausea is so weird , Its not nausea actually cuz I just feel blown like after eating
And I feel like this for hours !! So now I HATE EATING !
I lost 2 kg , bittersweet , happy to lose weight but scared that might effect my baby

Nahri
December 8th, 2014, 03:15 AM
The important thing is that baby gains weight. I lost way more than that my first time around mostly because of like you not wanting to eat because I was going to vomit and then finally vomiting. So its normal to lose some weight because of all the nasty parts of pregnancy. Just make sure you are consuming the appropriate amount of calories during the day. Try smaller meals because sometimes the big ones are just too much with all your innards being shifted around right now. I very rarely eat large meals right now because I either end up bloated or with heartburn. So breakfast is a small cup of oatmeal with nuts and fruit then a few hours later some yogurt , salad or maybe half a sandwich for lunch, then some cheese and fruit a couple hours later. Also helps to keep my blood sugar low eating that way because I fear I am going to end up with gestational diabetes again and I am trying to avoid that or at least avoid the shock of having to change diets in the last couple of months. If your doc hasn't told you ask how many calories you should be consuming. For me its roughly 2200 because I am still a tad overweight. That is something else to take into consideration. If you are already overweight your body does convert those awful fat deposits to keep baby going just in case! So just talk to your doc and make sure they think your weight loss is ok for you!

business.woman
December 8th, 2014, 04:56 AM

Morning ladies,

My last pregnancy with ds4 was the only pregnancy I didn't gain any weight and that was due to having a gastric band, so far this pregnancy I have lost a few lbs but nothing to worry about im overweight to begin with.

My nausea is easing lots but im still exhausted. I can now drink a cup of coffee which I haven't been able to do for weeks, but a cup of tea is still a no go!!!

Well after my scan I am absolutely obsessed with nub and gender, driving myself crazy :hair: I have posted pic on few forums and so far I have 18 girl guesses and 3 boy guesses. I keep trying to find similar pics but can't. I know im going to have to find out as soon as I can.

Oh I did too, maybe my question was worded poorly.

I know some people aren't sure of their exact O day, but for the ones who do now (either my temping OPKs, etc) how were your symptoms around O day? Mine were very strong the day before O. I felt like that day would FOR SURE be my O day, but my O day ended up being the day after according to my temps.

Belleboi, I never have pains of anything like that around ovulation. Just the cm.

So far I have lost just over 2.1 kgs (4.6 pounds) since the 23rd of November. GDM would be the biggest reason for that as I have to watch the carb intake. I'm only eating about 1/3 of what I was eating.

Belleboi, I never have symptoms around o either, and if you already got your bfp, it's not really that important to pin point the actual day since you are already preggo and any due date would be calculated off of lmp, or an ultrasound. Congrats on your bfp!

11 weeks is too early for a nub guess, I had a clear nub shot last week at my 10 week 4 day ultrasound and it stinks not being able to guess. Next ultrasound is Monday.

Welcome Carly!

I totally feel everyone's pain on the nausea thing. I have been SOOO miserable with morning sickness this go round (and baby #1 wasn't a walk in the park either). I'm 13 weeks and I have been throwing up most days. But because I am so sick, I am eating constantly to try to keep the nausea at bay, so even with all the vomitting, I'm gaining weight like crazy. So sorry you didn't hear girl Christi, you will love your little man so much and your little boy will love having a brother.
I was upset when I found out DS3 was a boy but as I did a major sway with #4 when I found out he was a boy I cried as I thought I for sure with the sway had got my girl but it just wasn't meant to be and honestly I wouldnt change them for the world!!!

They are great and absolutely love each other to bits and its lovely watching them play together. My boys this morning off to school, its wear a Christmas woolly jumper to school day today :D

Christi - you had a fantastic sway and this special perfect little man was meant to join your family! Congrats onapp the healthy baby and as you said, you will love him so much when he is here.

So ladies I'm really torn. I'm 90% sure this baby is a boy (gut feeling, dreams, I gained a lb around ovulation, etc) and I *think* I'm ok with that. Although my family will certainly say lots of mean comments that will hurt me, but I'm trying to mentally prepare every day for what that will feel like. So DH's sister conceived a baby with downs syndrome and it is honestly my husband's #1 fear (please don't judge, I realize he's being insensitive but these are his feelings). DH is obsessed with me getting Maternit21 because he keeps going back to the fact that only 87% of DS is caught by NT scans/quad screening and he doesn't like those odds. I'm pretty sure I'm getting Maternit21 at my appointment Monday (at 10 weeks exactly) at DH's insistence.

SO, I'm honestly terrified to hear the gender results. I feel like it's definitely a boy and I will be OK, but now I'm paranoid it will send me into a spiral of unhappiness. I get that I can get the test and not hear the gender, but I feel stupid doing the test and not finding out! For ladies with GD in the past/currently - is it easier to find out sooner? I'm positive we won't wait until birth because I had PPD and I really don't want to experience PPD and GD at the same time. I want at least 20 weeks to come to terms with DS2 and bond with him and get excited for him. So in my shoes WWYD ? Assuming you knew it was probably an opposite - would you find out at 12 weeks (10 weeks blood draw, then 2 weeks to find out), or wait until 20 weeks or possibly do an elective scan at 14/15 weeks ?

Gorgeous picture! Bluebonnet I would find out as early as possible, plus with the blood test there is no room for those maybe the ultrasound technician was wrong thoughts or baby not cooperating.

Edited because blood showed up instead of ultrasound before technician. Ugh typing on my phone.

Junie - I hadn't even thought about the thought of baby not cooperating at 14/15 weeks or tech being wrong! It would probably drive me nuts if we decided to find out at 14 weeks and then the baby wouldn't cooperate and I had to drag the whole thing out until 20 weeks. Definitely smart to consider that as a possibility!

Christi - how were the results delivered to you? I have this weird fear that my doctor's nurse is going to call me in the middle of the day while I'm at work or with DS and just tell me "You have a baby boy!" and that it might not be a good time to find out.

Bluebonnet I went for private gender scan at 16 with DS4 but a bad shot made me believe it was wrong so I went for another and confirmed it was a boy. I liked finding out early as I cried a little pulled myself together and then went shopping for him to bond, we also chose his name and tbh when he arrived I wasn't upset that he was a boy at all. He was a premie and had to go to nicu so that put everything into prospective for me.

Im going to have a private scan at 15+1 with this one on Christmas eve in the hope we may see gender, but if not I will be ok. And I know I will be ok if its another boy, hubby is already calling him George...lol!

Hi ladies, I thought I would pop on and say hi. I'm 10 weeks and swayed for a girl. I have two amazing sons. Reading your posts I fully relate to how you all feel with the whole unknown factor! I have convinced myself I'm having another boy. So far symptoms are the same and I truly don't feel I could be so lucky to get what I want! I'm doubting my sway and my choice to TTC the month I did. Must accept and move on. The nausea is so not fun!!

Welcome Sarah! My pregnancy is identical to my pregnancy with DS as well. Definitely easy for me to be certain this is a boy too. In some ways in glad my symptoms are the same so it doesn't give me any false hope! :)

Welcome Sarah! I'm also going forward as if this baby is a boy. We're only thinking about boy names, etc. If it is a girl I will be very pleasantly surprised!!

Hi ladies, I got my BFP today :))) I will be due around the 27th of August 2015.

I have mixed emotions on how I feel about my sway now the fact I'm actually pregnant. Hoping I did enough to get my girl but it's a bit late to do anything else now. Did anybody else feel like this? With my two boys I was just blissfully happy without GD anywhere near my thoughts!

Christi, I'm sorry you didn't get your girl... your sway looked really great so this little man is definitely just meant to be. I felt so much disappointment when my second baby was another boy. Looking back, I felt so foolish. I wouldn't trade him for the most beautiful little girl in the whole world. You really get the little baby that's meant to join your family, I truly believe that. *hugs* to you... I promise that all thoughts of gender disappointment completely disappear once you hold that beautiful new baby in your arms!

Welcome, Sarah and Ugee :)

I am 10 1/2 weeks now... I've had one very real, vivid dream that this baby is a girl which is really throwing me for a loop... and the heart rate has been HIGH up in the 170s and 180s (my boys were never that high) so that old wives' tale has me wondering now... my gut feeling is that mine is another boy, though, and I'm wholeheartedly thinking boy, but will be shocked and pleasantly surprised if we actually get a girl. I'll be having the Harmony blood test drawn next week so I should know in just a couple weeks... I just want to know. I hate the NOT knowing part.

 blue bonnet!! I would find out as early as possible and tell everyone your family included you are waiting till 20week scan, takes the pressure off and gives you time to get your head around either gender!! I was 100% that I was having a boy before my 13 week scan I read through heaps early posts due date groups and most ladies gut told them they were having another boy, a lot had girls! Its just our way of protecting ourselves from GD. Big hugs ladies I know the horrible feeling of limbo and the threat of GD ever present XX

Great photo HappyLea! What handsome boys you have!

The wait to know gender is so miserable, and even though I am sad that I didn't hear pink, I think the disappointment i feel now is better than the torturous wait to know either way. At least now I have certainty. So if it was me, I would want to know as soon as humanly possible.

I know people in this group are going to start finding out soon and I hope everyone gets their desired genders. I want to celebrate some successes, even if mine didn't work out!

I always wanted the heart rate to be true because my D'S was high so I was Hoping girl originally. But it speeds up and slows down at different points of gestation.

Mine was 125. I don't believe in the heartbeat theory either. I checked two of my other girls around the same gestation and they were each 115 and 133.

Do any of you believe in Ramzis theory? I'm still a bit confused by it myself :)

Hello everyone. I got a BFP a few days ago. I'm due August 18, swayed girl (I have 3 boys). I still can't belive it's real, thought we dtd to close to o, but I guess I was wrong. Of course I keep second guessing my sway and have some concerns about handling four little ones...time will tell.

Welcome Grace!!! I'm nearly certain I conceived on ovulation day this time and I was surprised it worked as well. Everyone second guesses their sway, I know I do! Fingers crossed for you and congrats!
