@happy
Just last night, my ds1 was helping ds2 read his Tashi book (it's a kids chapter book). Ds2 always has trouble reading and I just thought I should share how sweet and close they are as brothers. They fight and beat the crap out of each other and play videogames or Lego's the next.
My ds2 especially is just amazing! I have never had a more considerate caring boy in my life. He has humbled me beyond belief.
Boys are great! When I think about how bad my gd was once, I look at my two beautiful sons and think 'wow, did I really feel that way? These two crazy boys are damn awesome' :)

How nice of you to think of me and and thank you for sharing that!
The GD is actually a lot better today. Two days ago I was in a very very dark place and I'm scared to even tell you ladies the thoughts I had. I actually didn't think my GD would be that strong but it really felt like someone died. Thinking back to the moment the tech at the scan pointed out the boy bits made feel like I was in a nightmare. I just refused to believe it.
I'm starting to slowly accept it and today I haven't cried at all.
My hubby has been amazing. I opened up to him completely about the thoughts I've been having and he hasn't judged me or gotten upset at all. I actually did start thinking that I might be open for a third child and I might consider HT then. I never thought my DH would agree to that but he has said that he is willing to do it if we decide we want to conceive again. All of these things are giving me hope and I feel so grateful to have such an amazing husband and beautiful family.
You girls have been such great support and I'm so moved by all your sweet posts! Thank you! [emoji175]

Good luck today Ugee! I ask at every U/S lol...
AFM I have my Anatomy scan also, I feel like I am only feeling baby B and not A so I didnt sleep much as at all and woke up way too early because I am super nervous. I know its common early on to only feel one baby especially since Im 21 weeks but Im still worried. I was feeling both up until about this last week. Cant wait to see them and hear the tech say they look great!

Just wondering from you mummies how your family have been with your expecting arrival and expanding family choice. I thought my mum was thrilled about this baby but she never showed any excitement about the fact this is her 1st granddaughter which shocked me. Then today she said that I basically have no life! That I'm just watching everyone around me live their life going off places and doing things. But I'm happy with my choices and wouldn't change a thing about my children being close together. I would love to have more money but who wouldn't! I look at it that I enjoy family trips out so much more than my holidays I had as a singleton and in time my DH and I will still be able to have our own time again one day. Maybe I'm just being over sensitive with hormones but I'm sad that my own mum that I've always been close to isn't in my zone. :(

My grandmother was kinda the same, she thought we had enough kids and that if we were to have more to wait another few years. The rest of my family feel the same as I do that I wanted to have them close together and have one more ( we had a surprise and got an extra :) ). I voiced my opinion very loud that I didnt want any negative comments and if they had any to keep them to their selves or I wouldnt really have them around my family any more.
As long as your happy, your kids and spouse are thats all that matters. :)

My mother when told was the most disappointed sounding "oh" I have ever heard. Of course now if you tell anyone that story she was screaming in excitement from the rooftop with OH YAY according to her. First concern was we drive a sedan car which is more than adequate for DH, myself, and 2 kids in the back but apparently thats not enough space. Then it was how I was going to manage with 2 kids all day long, then finally my health issues. Its like they think we run into these choices blindly instead of the months of preparation in the case of us swayers, looking at our budgets, health problems, and everything else. I think it comes down to situational generation gap. My mother and grandmother did not have the options of day care or working with their children (Grandmother 5) (Mom just me and 2 much older step siblings) Their choices were pay money for a babysitter, or daycare to go out on private ocassions or spend money on a huge family trip all while there may have been one income provider because she had to stay home with the kids. Some of you have siblings reaching that babysitting age, or have family/friends to give you a night off etc and they don't even look at those factors it seems. We didn't lightly make this decision so we could turn around and complain later about what we don't have.

I'm sorry you guys are having issues with Family! That stinks! My parents are thrilled. They knew we wanted 2 kids and are so happy for us that we are getting one of each. My mom watches DS 4 days a week so I don't pay for daycare so we are super close

It been beautiful here too! It was 61F today which was fantastic til it started raining. Which of course makes a tired preggers even MORE tired, and the joint problems oh joy!
Good OB appointment today, I am now going to the every 2 week appointments instead of every 4 next week I will be 30weeks so we are in the homestretch finally! I guess the one good thing about the gestational diabetes is I am getting another ultrasound where I wouldn't have before to make sure I'm not smuggling a small moose in there so at least I have that to look forward to!

yeah that groin pain is a dead give away for me. That was my early symptom both times. started feeling like I was bruised or got kicked then it spread to the center of my hips and I was done for. The brace I ordered is a freaking miracle. Better than the one the doc gave me last time!

I can feel bub move all over. Above my belly button, in my lower pelvis, to the sides. He can be an active bugger when he wants. I think I felt a foot heel or possibly an elbow/knee cap move across my belly button. In saying all that, he doesn't move anywhere near as much as my girls did at this stage.

yeah your little one is nailing the placenta. As she gets bigger and running out of room you should at least get the ripples. Depending on exact position you may get some kicks to the sides that you will feel.
My little girl has kicked a sore spot on my right side. So I have to roll over to get her to quit kicking there. I can identify hands vs feet based on how hard I got hit. Hard ones are feet lighter ones are hands or elbows. I haven't been able to identify the head for certain yet because I haven't had a strong enough comparison to distinguish butt from head. My DS was constantly sticking his butt out in there so its probably butt.. LOL

I know that feeling boysway all too well. But back pain for me is the normal every day. So my docs have learned to ask if its worse because to ask if I have back pain as a symptom will get them nowhere LOL

Nahri, back pain is relatively normal for me as well. Although I haven't seen my usual chiro since December, I usually go every 6 weeks at most. I was diagnosed with chronic back pain about 9 years ago. I have trouble with my L5 S1 disc.

So as our pregnancies progresses I can see most of us suffer from aches and pains! Carrying a baby sure isn't easy!
I started having contractions (not painful ones) at 18 weeks and somedays its a lot worse. I realized it's because when pregnant I'm much more sensitive to stress and whenever I think of something stressful my belly immediately turns rock hard. My midwife instructed me to take it easy and rest. The problem is my best childhood friend is getting married in July and I am maid of honor. Me and the other bridesmaids have started planning the bachelorette party but I feel like they are more interested in planning what bridesmaids dresses they want to wear than contributing to the bachelorette planning. It's stressing me out so bad and I feel like it will be me planning the whole thing if it's going to happen. It's all ready giving me contractions and I feel like I need to take care of myself first or this might hurt me and my baby.
Is it wrong to just tell the other bridesmaids they need to plan it themselves and I will contribute financially and participate in the party?
Boysway
April 6th, 2015, 05:28 AM
Happy, are they definitely contractions or are they braxton hicks? They sound like braxton hicks to me. I know I get them often at times of stress or if I overdo things. Maybe ask the girls if they can help out more. It's wrong for them to leave everything to you when you're all on the bridal party.

April 6th, 2015, 06:28 AM
Happy why not make a list of things to do and dish out the jobs so you only have to oversea them? Delegate ha ha good luck you certainly don't need the stress!!

Happy I think the list idea of jojoryan's is good! I would also find it difficult to organise alone. Saying that I found getting the boys breakfast, bathed and dressed extremely exhausting this morning! It's such a simple thing but found myself sitting down all puffed out and I'm only 20 weeks!!! God help me as I get even bigger.

I know what you mean, happy and all of you ladies. My babies always hang out on my right side and push up into my ribs. So I have pain in my ribs and on my lower right abdominal area, constantly. Unless I'm lying down on my left side, I get no relief and its more comfortable to stand than to sit because of it.
I also get gethe Braxton hicks when I get upset or stressed. The boys have been on spring break and they've been bickering so much. They go back to school tomorrow, which will be good for us all!

I'm not sure Linz.
So, I had my 24 week check up (although I am 25 weeks tomorrow). I asked the Dr about the almost passing out episode I had last week and he said it was definitely my bp. I will make sure I keep my fluids up from now on. Thankfully, I can still take nurofen which I will use for my sciatic pain that has recently resurfaced. Bp was good 101/74 and fundal height is 26 cms. Oh, the dr couldn't quite pick what position bub is in either. I did say I would be interested to know and he replied with, so would I. Obviously bub didn't want to give up his position. Bubs heart rate was also 135-140
So, I am happy to say all went well with my appointment and I don't need to go back for another 4 weeks :D

Has any of you ladies experienced a bit of bleeding/spotting after DTD? I have lost my libido this pregnancy so our 'time' together has been almost nothing but the couple of times we have I have had a pinkish colour after. Sorry for tmi! But should I be concerned?
Nahri
April 8th, 2015, 12:45 PM
As long as you are not cramping and gushing blood, a little spotting is normal because all the blood vessels around your cervix are all sensitive and enlarged. Its not hard at all for one to ooze a couple drops especially if you have been going at it really hard. And in pregnancy that doesnt have to be swinging from the chandeliers.

Thank you! Very different, now I can tell who is who. He moves a lot, she is active but not as much or at least I dont feel her as much. When they both move at the same time it's amazing but very weird lol and they love to take turns who beats me up lol. I had it everytime we dtd untill my second trimester.

my husband has been effectively cut off this time. Last time it was like GIMME now im like get the hell away! Shows you how different your hormones can be from pregnancy to pregnancy. He tells me "You have two hands you can use" my response is 'so do you get over it!" LOL Its actually become quite uncomfortable to the point on the rare occasion I am in the mood I get turned off to the idea because its that awful. I think its a combo between the SPD and where DD is sitting because it just causes painful pressure. I had spotting one time in the first trimester and even in my head I knew it was just sensitivity I still freaked because as you all know every little thing sends your mind psycho in the first trimester about the possible horror of a mc. Figured out it was a positioning problem which for some thats all it is.

I wasn't enjoying DTD anyway. Felt so ill in the 1st trimester it never happened and now In the 2nd it's just uncomfortable and with the spotting I just think it's a no go. Glad I'm not alone with tellin DH its just not happening. Feel so big also that I can't feel attractive anyway.

I have been away for a bit, but wanted to update. :) Doing well here. I have an anterior placenta, so I am finally feeling constant movements at 25weeks. I am happy that this pregnancy is better on my hips than the last one. I am getting monthly massages that are truely a blessing. I feel the same as many of you. I do not want to dtd at all, but it's down to about 2x a week or less. Dh is dealing but I often tell him no way. Plus I think my libido was really high with all of my boys while pregnant so it was more often. Now with a girl, it's at about zero and so uncomfortable anyway and I feel so huge.
On the 15th I o in for another ultrasound o check on the placenta location. It was close to the cervix at my 20 week scan so they wants o be sure it isn't going to be a problem and hasn't blocked the cervix. I'm hoping that all is well, which it probably is. It just wild mean a possible csection which makes me nervous.

I heard some good news from someone who was on our board swayed for a girl and suddenly lost her a few weeks along last year...she let me know that she is pregnant again with a healthy girl so far! She never named it she just said she couldn't see a vessel in the heart but saw all chambers so wasn't worried about that but said fluid is 11 mm and 10 mm was the cut off but wrote brain ventricles abnormal In the notes and said if fluid grows we will be advised from there

The Dr will scan me Wednesday and give me more info but the sono lady said it's not good but never said what she said the Dr would discuss things and monitor growth of fluid but I Google horror stories and just wondered if anyone had had this what was it and what was the out one my cousin had it and was advised to terminate but her fluid was 15 mm not 11 mm

Please discuss ALL the options with your doctor. Do not make a termination decision without an MRI of the babies brain. I have known someone that went through this and was on the border line at 12mm (not every doc uses 10 some use 12). When you get fluid on the brain like that there is usually some other anomaly like a heart issue etc because the fluid circulates through the heart and spine. Induction at the right time and surgery for a shunt can also be a decision you may be willing to make as well. Weigh ALL the options don't take a high measurement and make a snap fear decision. My friend almost did until she got a second opinion and they did an MRI which her original NEVER offered and should have. Induction was done a few weeks early and a shunt was placed. Child is now fine and like it never happend. But they only need to talk surgery if it rises to 15. If there are no other anomaly the chances can be better. Did you have trisomy screening? Usually they go hand in hand but not always but one of the biggest factors is chromosomes in relation to fluid on the brain.

Angel, I will say ..step far aWay from the Google search and wait too your appointment. It is not worth worrying over and becoming more upset because that can bring up so much that won't even be the same as your situation. Sometimes, these things happen and they are just precautionary measures based on how it appears. It may not be anything serious and I hope and pray for the very best for your little one. Prayers for you to be at ease and for good news!

what great news, angel!
I haven't been here lately! Life has become so busy. I am 22 weeks and things are just moving right along. Little dude is pretty damn active in there:) I have sort of a TMI question. Did anyone notice a decrease in CM the further along you got? I feel like through the first trimester and the first half of the second trimester it was there every single time I wiped, but I've been getting less and less the last couple of weeks.

Angel-Pink I am so happy to hear the great news! I was thinking of you today! Too cute that he was doing that! Lol
Yes, belleboi- i with the CM, it can change a lot. I think that when I am very stressed out or tired, I have lower cm but it varies from person to person and from pregnancy to pregnancy I think. This pregnancy, it's been much less than with my boys. Hth!

Well, today I had a scan to check placenta position and I'm at 29 weeks today. Thankfully, the placenta has moved up/back away from the cervix, so much so, that baby's head fits right between them. I'm so relieved. No placenta previa!
She's already found her head down position, apparently and the ultrasound tech mentioned her head is pushing on my bladder. Yes, it sure is, I told her:) she was blocking her face with both hands over her eyes. I got to see her mouth and nose and it was so cute. But they gave me a profile picture instead. Oh well. I'll try to attach it. 24788

Nahri
April 16th, 2015, 04:40 PM
I just hide baby really well. I think because of the SPD shes got more room to settle lower so its not so much out front. Measured 2 weeks ahead today which is to be expected with the 50 gallons of water I drink plus being a second pregnancy. I felt so bad for the woman leaving her appointment ahead of me she has a scheduled C-sec for 37 weeks because of suspected macrosomia (big baby). But I overheard her say her blood sugar level and she was 22 points high on almost everything regularly and acted like it was NOTHING. She has the same doctor as me apparently but this time I believe him on the csect. I have a non-stress test at 34 weeks and possibly ultrasound at that time. So at least I may get to look forward to one more peek. I dare them to say c-section to me one more time though without an ultrasound and a second opinion.

This is the note of what my doctor recommends. I take this every evening and just a half of a b6 again in the morning, not the unisom. It has worked great for me. It takes a couple of days to get in your system. I skipped it last Tuesday, just to see if I was out of the woods. Wednesday morning and afternoon, I still felt pretty good. By Wednesday evening I was so sick again and decided to take it that night. Thursday, the whole day I was useless, so sick and in bed by 6:30pm, ick ick ick. By Friday morning it was back in my system and I felt much better. I won't miss a dose again!!! Good luck:)

Changing conversation entirely is anyone experiencing really sore nipples still? Never had this with the boys past about 14 weeks. I can't touch them without wincing :( I'm coming up to 23weeks and my boobs throb also!?
I'm also feeling like time is standing still again. The 1st 12 weeks to my scan felt like every day was a week (this was also from feeling so ill with Ms too tho) and then it went really fast to 20 weeks and was feeling fab about that. Hi ladies, change of subject here... If you needed more room in your house (as we do) would you A) put yourself through an extension or B) move!? Both are stressful and both are an option for us. We have gotten approval of an extension and getting quotes in but also have had the house valued as it is now. Short version of costs is if we have the extension it won't add a great deal to our property but it's for our own comfort purposes. Moving costs money but could also have less mess factor and no builders turning up late and hidden costs etc. so what would you do?
kitkat18
May 1st, 2015, 03:10 PM

Ugee I see you've made the move decision which is what I was going to suggest not just for the short term but are you done having babies? it helps A LOT at night missxo. I can roll over in bed without screaming!
Ugee I see you've made the move decision which is what I was going to suggest not just for the short term but are you done having babies? (may need another room in the future) Your current children may need bigger bedrooms as they age, maybe there is a better school district? Always look to the future! We are done after DD is born and when they hit the tween years we are buying a new house for the bigger bedrooms for them lol
Yes this is our last baby, just looking forward to watching the family grow now instead of being my very own puppy farm lol! We are looking at a 4/5 bedroom house with plenty of space downstairs so will do us for many years. My eldest has been acepted into the school I want him to go to so will be looking locally. But I don't think any home is a forever home as circumstances Change with time. Need it for now either way and the extension is giving me headaches already so think altho it's stressful moving just seems easier.

I'm really pleased for the royals! Think kate had hard pregnancies and I never want anyone to go through gender disappointment as its evil so for that it's fantastic news that she had a pigion pair. Also I'm much nicer about others getting what they want now I'm getting mine, it's like I can let go of all that bitterness finally :)

Putting final touches on my birth plan and Im having a hard time not being snotty about it. So much unnecessary intervention last time and threats of c-section for everything under the sun Im trying to be assertive without being a complete B**** but I almost feel like I sort of have to be as this new place is barely a step out of the dark ages.

Nahri, it's your birth plan, your labour. You be as straight forward as you feel you need to be!
Nahri
May 5th, 2015, 11:22 PM
My biggest thing is the pitocin. Its absolutely awful stuff and I know this hospital is a heavy pusher of it to speed up labor to "their timeframe" I can just put no pitocin but last time that led to interrogation so I almost feel like I have to explain why I don't want it and thats where I get snippy. I am most likely taking the epidural but not until the LAST minute when I know my bad hip will no longer take the pain and pressure so I feel like I have to explain that too instead of just saying I will tell you when I want it administered.

Ah yes. I would rather not be induced. I have been lucky enough to avoid it I guess you never know what will happen. I haven't even thought about my birth plan. I suppose I should. I'm 29 weeks today.

May 6th, 2015, 01:02 AM
I was progressing slowly but fine last time. The contractions were not coming fast or hard enough last time and so they pushed the pitocin on me to speed it up. Hell as soon as I walked in the door they said I'll be right back with your pitocin.. OH HELL NO. I dont want to deal with that this time. It was on my plan last time too but ignored. Once my doula got there she put them in their place. Used the risk of infection line on me I said yeah if labor hasnt progressed in X time thats when the risk starts so I will see you at 11:00 and THEN you get your way buh bye!

May 6th, 2015, 03:11 AM
I'm scared they will give me that evil drug again too Narhi!!! They induced me and as I had to be monitored on the bed my contractions slowed so they put the devil drug in me. Really don't want to go through that again! I cried when they wouldn't let me walk about and told to be on the bed...no wonder things stopped progressing. This time I'm being a bossy patient and also making sure they delay cord clamping as there are more benefits for baby.
Nahri
May 6th, 2015, 03:50 AM
Ive learned the best thing to teach yourself is how to read the monitor print out from the fetal monitors. Pitocin leads to more interventions every time. If you need it because its truly a problem then by all means have at it but they push it so much and scare you into it and you have no clue if you really need it or not! I snuck food into my room to help keep labor progressing. Those little protein bars helped immensely. I also had a water bottle stashed under my pillow. They told me I needed an IV line because I was so dehydrated when they had no idea how much water I had been slamming the whole time. No body energy nothing left to help keep labor going. Just like they made you stay in bed especially if kept on your back then yeah its going to slow down. The birth classes at my old hospital were all about moving around and changing positions blah blah but as soon as they put me in my room it was a different story and for no reason other than its what they wanted. Now Im in an area where just about every hospital is going to preach the same thing. Pitocin, on your back, legs up, take the epidural. They are absolutely going to hate me because I know how to read the chart from the monitor so when they pull the distress crap on me I will know if they are telling the truth or scaring me into their timeframe!

the pitocin increased my pain levels like OMG and because the contractions were so hard I had to have continuous monitoring throughout labor and then the one stuck in his head because it was compressing him so much his levels kept dropping.
In current baby news she failed her BPP mostly due to the NST portion so I have to go back tomorrow and see if they will try to scare me into a 36 week induction or c-section

Nahri, maybe if you end up with a vaginal birth write down your reasons for refusing the pitocin and just shove the piece of paper in their face if they start haggling you about it. Who wants to talk/argue while you are in pain??? Not me!!
I wanted a vbac with DD3 but we were overseas and they who troop of doctors absolutely freaked out. I didn't cave on the vbac part but I did cave on the epidural (I don't like them) and the damn thing only numbed my right thigh, not leg, thigh. The anesthesiologist was a b*tch and I was in labor much longer, IMO, because of the totally useless epidural. This time I am not at he mercy of military medical who could care less, but I am still anxious to make sure my wishes are respected.

Some women can't get them- me included. I have a curved spine (scoliosis) that also goes inward (lordosis). No anesthesiologist would touch me to give me an epidural with a ten foot pole! I also can't have most medicine to help with the pain (any CII drugs like fentanyl, or Duragesic), since they give me the worst migraine of my life! No medicine for me! I've had two unmedicated births and expecting another with this pregnancy. Good news is my labor and deliveries are quick and tolerable- under 6 hours total.
I am jealous of you ladies that can get medicine [emoji20]!

Im medication over tolerant. They had to use the combination epidural and nerve block on a double dose of each to get it to work. I didn't want it but they had to intervene with an episotomy and forceps because he stalled all due to the pitocin. Otherwise I was fine without it!

That was the nice thing about the BPP being done. I got to watch a good 30 min ultrasound! It wasnt great quality but I got to see part of her face since she was firmly snuggled in my pelvis already engaged. I think she will have most of my looks since she reminded me a lot of my son from the eye and cheek that i could see along with her little chin. She also had her hands together wiggling her finger tips and touching them together like she was plotting an evil plan it was funny!

How is everyone going???
I have a dilemma. Just after baby name thoughts and opinions.
Dh is set on a name that I'm not a fan of. I'm set on a name dh isn't a fan of. Hence the dilemma.
So, dh suggested we combine the names as first and second names. I would like the name I chose to go first but, even though I haven't said so to dh, his chosen name sounds better.
Either
Hudson Kyle S******p
Or
Kyle Hudson S******p
I would love to hear your thoughts.

Yep, definitely on the count down. I finish up work the 22nd of June. We haven't got anything ready for bubs arrival either. We still need to move miss 9 to miss 5's room and paint both rooms. I also need to paint the furniture that's in Miss 5's room as that will become the little Mr's furniture.
Good news and bad news today. This morning I won a family pass to the circus (we just need to pay for miss 5). Bad news is, our washing machine was looked at this afternoon after it started making a horrible noise. Looks like it's the motor :(

Poor Nahri! I hope you get some relief. I am hurting too but not with the SPD which sounds much worse.
My sacrum is just not holding itself together very well. I think it is due to the relaxing hormone & the fact that its #4. I feel like my pelvis is held together only by my skin. I have a brace that helps sometimes but I can only stand or walk with it on. Can't sit in it because it is just too miserable.

I might be posting some this weekend! She bombed another NST Thursday and there was some mild braxton hicks during it. So they did the BPP which I am almost happy for because it was a good final check that she is ok and ready to go. She measured 37.5 weeks roughly and everything in good shape so I'm not TOO concerned about having her early (37 weeks on monday) Tonight Im having good solid contractions 1 every hour 1 minute long. This time I actually feel them where last time I did not and my water broke before any contractions.
