BOysway!!! Yeah! Confirmation will be such a relief! I really think you have a blue bundle in there!
I am in south Texas...we have lived here for just a few years, DH is military. Not going to be here for too many more years, thank goodness. This town is strange. Not the cowboys and big hair everyone thinks of when they picture Texas.
Business, same for me. Morning sickness has eased up a bit but still comes and goes. I have felt movement for almost a week. It is so exciting, but I get mega paranoid when I don't feel anything, however, I am usually running around and busy so its hard to feel anything that way. I think my GD has been replaced by paranoia. Two years of TTC has has made me a nervous wreck!
Bluebonnet and Liz, keep us posted! We are all waiting anxiously with you!

I felt DS at around 14 weeks. He was a straight kicker and puncher. I am just now CERTAIN I feel DD now at 19. She moves very differently from what I have seen on her scans and its easy to mistake her for digestion because shes an all over mover!

I am devastated! The place I wanted to get the scan with only come to this area when they have enough people to scan. It's not a permanent set up :( I can't see dh being keen on a scan anywhere else as it will likely cost the same as it would for the growth scan :(

Gutting boy sway! I know it probably does not feel like this right now but time will fly :) , I had to wait 6 weeks from girly nub guesses to getting confirmation and boy George it was hard I would have done anything to get an early scan but they don't do them here in New Zealand! Xxx

I think I will try calling the place I have my growth scan with. I'm busting to know. I suppose it's onnnlllyyy just short of six weeks away... :( Argh!!! I suppose if we had an early scan I would need to try and keep my mouth closed till we confirmed at the growth scan.

I've called a number of ultra sound clinics and they don't do scans without a drs referral. Guess ill have to wait for my 20 week anatomy scan.
I'm a New Zealander living in Singapore :)

Oh no! I hope you all can get scans! Fx!
I have 2 more days to go til mine and I can't even handle the anticipation. I posted my nub shot on ingender and I got all girl guesses (some girly but early) but one poster that is an US tech wrote "Definitely most likely girl" - eek! I am trying SO HARD not to get my hopes up but it is so hard. I just can't picture myself with 2 boys but i'm trying to remind myself that it is a definite possibility!!

boysway - hope you find a way to get a scan sooner. The wait is such torture! I live in a very small town in TX and we have 3 different elective scan places here - I'm surprised they haven't become as popular in other places in the world!
I think having 5 long weeks (since finding out about the twin pregnancy at 10 weeks) has helped me sort out my feelings. I've completely come around to the idea of 2 boys and I'm very excited. I have a major fear that both babies aren't OK (even though my maternit21 results were clean) and at this point all I want is 2 healthy babies. My hope for a girl is pretty much gone at this point, and all I think about is wanting 2 healthy boys. I'm so nervous for my scan tomorrow - not for the gender anymore, but just to find out if I'm carrying 1 or 2 babies. I think I'm going to be OK tomorrow if they tell me "2 healthy boys". I've done a ton of meditation, shopping, visualization, talking with DH, etc, etc and I feel like I'm in a good place. I'll be binging on some pizza and ice cream tomorrow and everything will be OK :) I will update everyone tomorrow morning, and I will be praying my heart out tonight for 2 healthy babies.
Good luck Linz - only 2 more sleeps!!!!!!!!!!!

we were in TX with DS and we had to drive 2 hours to get his elective scan done. It was done through Stork Vision and I can't recommend them enough if there is one near you bluebonnet! I hope you get your healthy babies as well and even more hopefully at least one girl!

January 19th, 2015, 06:20 PM
I am not holding my hopes high for the elective scan, all other places seem to go by referral only. I am very disappointed though. I guess it gives me time to save for a shopping spree though ;)
bluebonnet22
January 19th, 2015, 07:15 PM
Nahri - I will be going to storkvision for sure tomorrow if my doctor is unable to tell me (or doesn't want to!). I've waited 15 weeks, that is long enough in my opinion!
belleboi - I didn't go in for my first appointment until 10 weeks, either. I was so anxious - it's such a long time to wait! I hope they do an u/s and you can see the heartbeat. It's so reassuring.

Good luck bluebonnet!
I'm 9 weeks ands I'm a bit concerned that most of my nausea and fatigue have disappeared over the last 3 days...hoping this doesn't mean bad news!? With my ds2 I was sick everyday for 17 weeks! Felt rubbish With ds1 for about the same I think. So now I'm worried that this baby has gone :(

Hi ladies, just been catching up through some of your posts!
Good luck bluebonnet + Linz for your scans, can't wait for your updates :-)
Ugee- I was quite sick with my 4 boys but this one I was ill (nausea) for about 3 weeks + sick once then my symptoms disappeared from around 8weeks. , I've had my 1st scan and all is well.since 8 weeks nothing but a constant headache!
I've got a gender scan booked on 12th feb + posted my scan pics on on ingender and here and got lots of girl comments- actually no boy comments which is making me very nervous. I'm trying to prepare myself to hear boy again but to be honest even if they say girl I don't think I'd want to say anything to anyone until the normal 20 week scan confirms.no one knows we're expecting yet - we kept it quiet till 16 weeks last time and just announced we were expecting our 4th boy to avoid all the 'bet u hope it's a girl comments' etc - as you can guess I've had a lot of awful comments + most from insensitive family members :( . I'll be 17 weeks when I go for this scan then have my 20 week on 2 March! X
Ugee
January 20th, 2015, 08:16 AM
Thanks ladies, hopefully just worrying over nothing and should be just glad not to be feeling as awful as I did! My midwife appointment is next Thursday but waiting for a call back from her now.
Pink princess, Hopefully I will be like you and it's just fortunate to be easing off! I would be like you and not tell people till the 20 week scan if I can hide it that long. Hate the comments. Although after talking to someone who has one of each gender she still gets a comment..."so that's it then your done now you've got one of each!" When actually she wants another and people make her feel greedy for wanting more! I think you just can't win what ever.

Thank you for all the kind wishes ladies! I'm still in complete and utter shock. I'll try to post some pictures later tonight. She had trouble getting a great classic girly potty shot, but we definitely saw it - baby was just moving too fast to take great pictures. I asked her 100x during the scan "are you sure"? And she was extremely confident - even wrote it in my charts. OMG! I've always wanted 2 boys and a girl and feel so extremely blessed to be done in 2 pregnancies. It seems way too good to be true and I just can't believe it. I have been doing a ton of pink (and blue!) shopping actually. I'm so paranoid I'll be leaving the tags on for another couple of months, but I couldn't help but enjoy the day and celebrate!
Huge congrats to you Ratcliff !!!!! I hope you're enjoying some pink shopping as well :)
Good luck tomorrow Linz! I'm sure you will hear pink and we can't wait to hear the update!

Huge congrats to Bluebonnet, Linz and Ratcliffe! So happy for you!!
I'm still really struggling with all day m/s, on top of that DS got a stomach bug from daycare and of course I caught it as well. Honestly I'm not even feeling happy about this pregnancy at all at the moment and that makes me feel even worse! I have lots of negative thoughts about if the baby turns out to be a boy after all this, I feel like it's all been a waste of time and I wouldn't be able to be happy about having this baby. I know that's a horrible way to think about your future baby!
Today I haven't been able to keep any food down and have been in bed all day, I haven't been to work in two weeks.
I have a dr's appointment on Monday, we will see what that leads to.
Anyway sorry for being a downer! Just needed to vent.
Reading about all the successful sways here made me sheer up!

Don't feel discouraged if you want a girl - I'd like to think that the reason so many of us are getting girls lately is because swaying works!!! We are all in the best place possible to increase our odds. Keep being positive (though I know how hard it is to worry - I was a wreck all week leading up to yesterday's ultrasound)
Nahri - I didn't buy anything last night but today during lunch I spent like $75 on clothes and pink bottles - including a onesie that says "i cry sparkles" haha!

I think there are a lot if swayers who when they get opposites leave this site for their own sanity. So don't worry about statistically there will have to be some opposite soon. I have read others who gave got opposites recently.
Just out of curiosity. Who is still waiting to find out?

yeah we had a few little opposites in this group. If it were me I would totally cut and run for my sanity. I try to be as sensitive as possible when I post so it doesnt seem like im trying to put my working sway over their own.
"I cry sparkles" ROFL I totally need that on an adult shirt as a gift for my sister.
I bought most of DD's winter clothes for next year including the most adorable puple pram (snowsuit with hands and feet and teddy bear ears... I know in other countries that means a few different baby items) while they were all on clearance this year to save me money. Family already has her spoiled rotten with clothes and I informed them all MINIMAL PINK. Because of all the things being bought from various people I dont want a ton of pink. Im not girly and definitely not a pink is all for girls etc. If she chooses pink as her favorite color so be it but not because everything she owns is pink. I almost get frustrated that some are going overboard though. I feel guilty for feeling that way because they are being nice and trying to save us some money for the things we dont have to buy but..... My mother who irritates me to no end has already purchased 2 seperate halloween costumes for her first halloween both of which I HATE, and several my first (insert holiday here) shirts etc. Im thankful and greatful but sheesh can't I pick out my own kids halloween costume? She bought them for DS two years in a row... If I say anything against it she will lose her every loving mind so for the sake of sanity I have to keep my mouth shut but I have to figure out how to draw the line somewhere. This is the same woman who said if I have twins I should give her one...

Oh my goodness Sarah and boysway, I hope the next few weeks flies by! The anguish during the wait is the worst!
Has anyone with a successful sway had a less than happy DH? It seems like everyone in this group had a DH that wanted a DD (or DS for blue swayers). DH was supportive while I was swaying but I guess I worked so hard to convince myself it was 2 boys (we came up with names bought a matching outfit for them etc) that DH has been devestated since finding out about DD. He wanted twin boys so badly and he's heartbroken. I'm trying not to be angry - the one thing I've learned from this website is GD comes in all forms, I've seen ladies with 1-2 DD's who want to add even more so badly. So I'm trying to be supportive and listen to his feelings, but it hurts that he isnt' happy and I don't have anyone to share my extreme joy with !

Bluebonnet- just to confirm. Your having B/G twins right?? Perhaps your husband also worked himself up for twin boys abs is just getting his head around the fact it's not? Give him some time. I'm sure he will get excited soon. Perhaps it's the unknown girl aspect and not knowing what to do with a girl?

Sarah, yes we are having b/g twins. You are definitely right that I spent so much time psyching myself up for 2 boys that it affected him more than I thought it would. I thought he'd be equally happy with b/b or b/g, but I had no idea how excited he was for a huge brood of boys. He's also extremely scared of raising a daughter. Every time I speak with him he comes up with something new "what about dating" or "how do I change a girl diaper". He's extremely freaked out! I'm hoping he'll come around before she's born, otherwise I guess I have to hope she will melt his heart once she's here. He has admitted to me that he didn't realize how much this would affect him and didn't realize the idea of b/g twins would be so upsetting to him until we actually found out. He thought he didn't care that much, but now that we know it's making him so upset.

Bluebonnet my husband would be thrilled with delight if this baby is our 3rd boy! He understands my want for a girl so he hopes it is for me. But if I had no preference he would be hoping for another boy!
I'm only 9 +2 weeks so the wait to find out seems like longer than the actual 9 months lol! I was wondering whether to stay team green but know that's just not going to happen! I want to know now. If the harmony tests were less expensive I would do that.
The gender dreams have begun for me. Dreamt that they told me it's another boy. In my dream I remember feeling so low and just didn't want to hear it. I also get angry when someone says they think it will be another boy, like they are saying something really nasty to me. But really they are not! It's just their guess but feels like they hate me to even say it!? I wonder why I've put myself through this sometimes...I honestly felt I would be able to deal better with the situation before I got my BFP now I think I've set myself up for a huge fall! :(

missxo - hopefully you get a good nub shot when you go in next week! I would think with twins they would do a scan between the NT and anatomy scan (my ob said for twins she does scans every 4 weeks for 1st/2nd trimester and then every 2 weeks after that). With my 3rd I didn't find out what I was having. When he was born they pulled him out and I could see his balls dangling between his legs and said - it's another boy. No feeling of excitement just resignation. With the 4th and my last I found out at my 13 week scan and I cried embarrassingly and uncontrollably! As that was supposed to be my last pregnancy but as soon as I found out it was a boy I knew I wanted to try one last time. So now pregnant with my 5th and definitely last child I an determined to enjoy all of it! If the blood test wasn't so expensive I'd have that. And if it's another boy I will deal with it. I will love him as much as I do all the others, we will have tried everything possible and I will need time to mourn the daughter I will never have. I can't help having that tiny flutter of hope though that there might be a girl in there!

So, I have been thinking, thinking and thinking some more about something one of my friends have said. This friend is due two weeks ahead of me. She had GDM last time and this time as well. Last time she was induced and the same will happen this time. Of course, I have been looking up in Google. Only on rare occasions does a mother not get induced or have a c/s when diagnosed with GDM. If bsl's are stable and bub is growing well but, not too well they will let labour come on naturally. Otherwise, it's an induction or c/s :( I don't want either. I have been blessed with all 4 kids not to require anything more then breaking my waters and gas. Argh! I know my mind needs to be open to everything and it is, I just don't want either of those scenarios :( I might add, my last two kids were both overdue. One by 3 days, the other by two days. Argh!!! Okay, vent over. I have an appointment with an obstetrician at the hospital tomorrow. Other then asking about those scenarios, can anyone think of anything else I might need to ask? It's been a while for me.

Ok, I hope your consultant or ob is able to keep your mind stress free and manage it well for you. Does it mean you have to be careful with your sugar intake? Hope you aren't craving sweets as that would be so hard! I had preeclampsia with DS2 so think this pregnancy will be consultant led. Hope I don't get it again as it really worries me.

Boysway. Talk to your doc about the reasons you MIGHT be induced/c/s. Usually you are going to hear its because of your BP or sugar levels. I had GDM with my DS diet controlled and I fully expect to have it this time. My sugar was monitored throughout and insulin given 2 times because the "stress" of labor can raise your sugar level. He was delivered with no intervention other than forceps when he was literally 1/2 inch from popping out and that was because of my bad hip not my GDM. Stick to your diabetic diet RELIGIOUSLY and you should not have as much to worry about and have the birth you want :)
Ugee- I have thought about it just because I have the coolest, priceless, non replaceable ever photo of DS from a later 3D/4D appointment. I dont know if we will be doing it or not just to keep the finances in check as we get closer to the due date, we have to pay a babysitter to watch DS during the labor, and make up for my husband having to take 3 days off.
You just cant get enough when you see something like this at a late gestation ultrasound!

Hello, everyone, do you mind if I join you? I'm due in early August. We have an amazing 2 year old DD, and we were hoping for another one and did a light sway (breastfeeding, followed some LE principles--went veggie, skipped breakfast, no snacking, lower nutrients, and we did just one attempt) and we were very fortunate to conceive on our first "practice" month trying. I took the Harmony test at 10 weeks, and was relieved and grateful to learn last week that our results were low risk and we're having a boy! I'm now in the process of adapting to a new dream. This will be our last child, so our daughter won't have a sister, but we hope she and her brother will have a wonderful relationship.
I'm 12 weeks along now and hoping the first trimester nausea and exhaustion will subside soon!

Christi can I ask? Did you sway? It's gonna be a few more weeks til I find out what I'm having- is like to think my sway worked, I couldn't have done any more, but I also have that sneaking feeling I'm not going to be so lucky. Sending hugs. I've been there.

Congratulations Zahara that's brilliant!
Christi- I know exactly how your feeling! My DS2 was tough to get my head round but I love him so so much now. We were going to stop at 2 children but I had to just try one more for a chance of a daughter. My dream may not have come true as i won't find out for ages. Trying to imagine 3 boys and I can see it happening to me. Walking past girls clothes really hurts and may do forever if my sway failed but at least I know I gave it a try. I'm trying to look at it as if I get a daughter I choose her but if I get another son then he choose me and hope to feel blessed from that. I really hope your GD gets easier for you.

Congrats to all those who got their desired genders... Sounds like swaying has worked great for so many of you. I'm so jealous!! We had our 20 week ultrasound last Friday and there is absolutely no doubt, we are having another boy. Not terribly surprising given the harmony test said boy, but there was that .001% chance that it was wrong.... But it wasn't... It's a boy... I'm wrapping my brain around it as the weeks go by, but it still sucks when I walk by little girl clothes in the store.

I'm sorry your sway didn't work. I read your sway and it looked great, you did all you could!! I know it must hurt but this little boy obviously chose you as his mom, I'm sure you will feel better when he arrives!
I also will have the hardest time walking by girl clothes if my away doesn't work. I will stay away from them!

I got my NT scan date today, it will be 16th of February. I'm so nervous, I can't stop thinking about if it will look girly or like a boy.
I'm also worried about the results. I know several people who got low risk on their NT scan but their baby still ended up having Down's. I would like to do the NIPS but it's simply too expensive here and hubby doesn't agree.

If I wasnt pregnant I would have stayed home and stuck it put but I knew I had to come to make sure the babies are getting what they need.

You should try avoid sleeping on your back if you can. I bought a wedge which just helps tilt to the side if I am on my back. But if you are doing it while you are sleeping don't worry about it as there is nothing that you can do about it!

missxo - eeek! On the stomach bug, how horrid!! Yeah on seeing the babies! I wish I was a good guesser but I am not. I think Kitkat and Nahri's guesses are usually spot on. Bet one of the little pumpkins is a girl! Can't wait to know for sure!
I hope you are better quickly. Being in the hospital is nice that people do all the laundry and dishes, but stinks being away from home and your other babies. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Business, I was worried about back sleeping too since I am such a back sleeper. My midwife said not to worry until the 3rd trimester. I still get a little uneasy on my back so I tend to flip back and forth a lot. These nights are getting longer as my sleep time seems to get shorter, but I had better get used to it!
Angel-pink - its so hard to wait especially when you know the gender is obvious...hope time flies by for you!

I colored in your nubs for you missxo on your separate ultrasound post so you can see why you are getting so many B/G. I can tell the "boy" was definitely a mover so "his" nub could be way off and not at all how it seems.
Nahri
January 31st, 2015, 06:16 PM
On a side note literally... I have always been a side-ish sleeper. More on my stomach sort of than anything. But with DS It was putting too much pressure on my stomach so I wound up back sleeping. You only have to "worry" about it when you start running out of room in there during the third trimester because the weight of the baby pushes on your spine, intestines, and major arteries which supposedly cuts off supply to the baby. A lot of medical professionals have said its all rubbish but Im on the rather safe than sorry team. I got a curved maternity pillow and O M G best nights sleep I had in EVER. It supports all the important joints and your tummy. If I wasnt sleeping with it I would have to pry it out from underneath DH because even he said he slept better with it LOL. So look for something curvy like one of these it will help keep you on your side which is also best for you nauseated heartburn people and you will be so comfy you wont know how you did without!

Yeah if they are kicking the placenta or you have a little extra "padding" as compared to your earlier pregnancies you may feel it less or not at all until later. I felt DS about 16 weeks this one I THOUGHT at about 18 and then definitely at 19.

Hi everyone - just catching up with everyone's news, Christi- sorry you didn't hear girl at your scan - you will feel different when he is here, i was totally disappointed wen I saw 'boy' on my 3rd+ 4th scans - (especially as number 4 we 'swayed' for) it's normal :-) but they are both the best boys I could wish for.
Congrats to all who have got their dg so far- there seems to be lots of you.

I'm trying to understand the nub theory a bit more...now I understand the angle part for a boy and a girl (both my boys looking back have typical boy nubs) but I thought that if it's a long flattish line then it's usually girl? But I've seen guesses on here from other peoples scan saying boy because of some stacking? Can anyone explain the stacking to me? :)

Missxo I hope they squeeze you in!
Ugee if the nub is flat and parallel to the spine and has a fork or just a flat line... That's girly. If it's angled up or even flat but the fork is leaning up or flat but there is a smaller dot on top of the flat line at end of nub, that is boyish

Here are confirmed boys all showing the fork. First thing to check is the angle. Depending on gestation is when you will see the rise. Now on the first one colored in blue you will notice the boy nub has a bit more of a curve like () as opposed to a girl who is going to look more V or ||. Quality of the machinery can make it more evident or more hard to guess so the angle is the biggest key. Further along you will see what is referred to as stacking. On the second picture the pinky lines would be your standard girl fork but that little bobbly bit stacked on top and the fact that the lines are uneven. Notice one is longer than the other (not always a dead give away could be crappy machine) and that little stump has "stacked" on top of the lines giving you a stacked boy nub. Sometimes depending on quality you will see a long line on the bottom and a detached line on top like -_ which would also be boy. Hopefully some of that made sense LOL

No worries linz thats a girl you can even see the leftover fork from the original nub in the middle :D This is a 3 line boy. See how much farther it sticks out? But had the tech imaged a degree off on the angle it wouldnt appear to protrude as much and look like a swollen girl. When they are flat against the body and you can see the original nub recessed you are golden.

Oh miss that's so exciting!
Just got back from my NT scan, dr said everything is looking good so far. According to my chart in 11w5d, but I ovulated on CD21 and my dr is going from my LMP so he has my due date a full week earlier tan I do, lol. My first scan cooberated my dating. This one was funny bc instead of measuring 11w5d I measured 12w1d. So a full three days difference. I think this just one big baby. No nub clues and I was concentrating on the screen like my life depended on it. The tech did tell me that I ovulated from my right side, though.
