I have to admit I am somewhat prepared. I bought a tommee tippee starter bottle kit, plus extra bottles. I have a bassinet, I need to pick up a cot I was given from a friend. I have started a stash of reusable nappies, I have about two packs of disposables. I've started stocking up on wipes and basic household essentials for those first few weeks. Maybe I'll feel more prepared once I know bubs gender. Speaking of, I have bought some boy clothes already. Still plenty more to do if bub is a boy though. My nearly 10 year old will be moving into my almost 5 year olds room if bub is a boy. That means moving lots of furniture around and painting two bedrooms. Hmm, maybe that's the real reason I don't feel prepared.

We have a lot of stuff to fix in the house too. The little one will be switching bedrooms (she sleeps in the guest bedroom now bc of the big bed), so I need to reclaim that room. Get her room reasy and comfortable. Fix dings and dents in the walls from my rowdy girls. Repaint walls and ORGANIZE. I have a lot of unused toys and half puzzle pieces to throw out and donate. DH has really insisted on me hiring some help for the last months of my pregnancy and the first months with a newborn so I think I may hire a cleaning service to come every 2 weeks.
We also have gotten rid of everything the last four years so I'm basically starting over. I spent two hours looking at diaper bags last night! Lol. Baby will also sleeping in a bassinet next to us for the first year or so, so no rush to convert the guest room just yet. Has anyone seen the Halo Bassinest? Doesn't it look awesome?

I feel so unprepared! Winter needs to end so I can switch out all the winter clothes and bring the spring clothes out from the attic :/ I have bought a few things but nothing big we need everything except clothes for baby boy. We even have to get a mini van bc our SUV is obly a 6 seater ooppss lol.. My OB said to have everything prepapred by 30 weeks the lastest incase I go early, get out on bedrest or am just too damn big lol. I am 17 weeks 1 day so that leaves me about 13 weeks left..
Nahri my SPD kicked in too :( I am going to get a maternity support belt and ask for a referral to PT for it and hope it helps :(
My family is going to throw us a baby shower, Anyone else know if they are having one?

Time has flown by for me too! I will be 24 weeks in a few day, EEK! 6 months already! DH and I were just discussing that last night.
I guess because I still have half of a miserable semester to get through 3 months seems forever!
We have loads of stuff left over from DD3 but no boy stuff. My sweet neighbor has offered to throw a shower for me so I have had fun on the Amazon baby registry. At first I thought shopping for a boy wouldn't be as fun as girl shopping, but I have managed! Gymboree is my favorite and they have lots of cute boy stuff. DH is already pulling stuff out and turning the office into baby's room, I simply can't help until my classes are over...grrrr...

Thank you Belleboi!
I still am in doubt, I feel like my girl isnt a girl that on my next scan I will hear boy. I am scared to bond with her until I know for sure. Its weird, but I still feel like its two boys and not one of each. Anyone else feel this way? Thats the only potty shot I got and feel like it is a penis :/
I have felt exactly the same way. It's normal, from what I've read and heard from others to feel this way. It's almost unbelievable even though it is logical and the truth..I totally understand, but try not to worry, as hard as that is. I am finally getting excited and I'm 23 weeks tomorrow. Hang in there!

Sorry your SPD is starting missxo. I highly recommend the aquatherapy if its available in your area. It takes all the weight off your hips and gets you moving! None of the places in this area could fill my script for the brace I needed because the standard compression band doesnt work on me. I ordered this: https://babybellyband.com/ with the straps that go around your groin so we will see how that works out. The also have shoulder straps that can be added to it as well so you just get the pieces you need!

Yay boysway! We told you!! Enjoy!
We are 21 weeks tomorrow and have so much to do. I'm moving my closet (baby's nursery is right now set up as a closet room for me) so we are clearing out our office and moving my closet there. Then have to paint and install a light in her room. Lots of setting up
To do!! Luckily she already has tons of clothes cause I can't.stop.shopping!!
Has anyone picked a name for their little one yet? We are doing Lena for our little girl! ;)

Linz, we are moving things here, as well! I'm 23 weeks today and I just want to be done with the reorganization already. We had to move r three boys into an oom together and baby girl will have their old room, which is currently very light blue and so battered lol. I'm going to paint it a very light violet color. I painted the boys' room and they got a new bunk bed in there. Now they need more closet space!
Oh and as for names, I'm pretty sure we re going with Vivienne Annalise:)

March 2nd, 2015, 08:25 PM
Loving the girls names. No idea for a first name, although I did start a list of boy names a while ago. I would like to have my pops surname as all or part of the middle name. His surname is Ryan :) We just need to figure out the rest. Also, dh agreed to a gender reveal party :) So excited.

My names list so far, in no particular order. Connor, Owen, Logan, Caleb, Cameron and Lachlan. So far the only one dh leans towards is Lachlan.

WOOHOO BOYSWAY! Wonderful news!! What a great day!:bluecheer::bluecheer::bluecheer:
I can come up with a dozen girl names but we are stumped on the boys names! DH and I have gigantic families and we have moved all over so every time we come up with a name we know someone associated with that name....grrr...DH always said we would use his name, which is fine, but now he's waffling....more grrrr....we still have time but the 2nds half of this pregnancy is flying by!
Congrats again! So excited for you! Tell us all about your gender reveal party! I think it would have been fun to get creative but again we have such huge families that everyone would have acted like "take a number...get in line....another boy, great....."

March 3rd, 2015, 04:42 PM
hmmm Boysway I think Connor Ryan, Caleb Ryan, and then Lochlan Ryan in no particular order. Ive always loved the name lochlan though its my cousins little boys name, and caleb is my BIL. Check your last name initial too make sure you dont end up with bad child initials lol. Ashley Sally Simpson would not work out well lol
Adia I could find a negative connotation for every name in the book. dont let it hold you back your child will be uniquely his own! We heard it all from our family on DS and now on Aria. Aria is the name of a casino in vegas so apparently thats the only thing they can linger on. Not that it is an italian opera solo, a form of music, or meaning high intelligence. My husband and I are very musically inclined and so is DS so her musical name will fit well into our family. You have to find the good in a meaning or you just plain like it and try to block everyone else out.

I'm honestly leaning towards Lachlan as well but my mums sister has a 9 year old called Lachlan. After 8 years of mums sister not wanting anything to do with mum and our family, she is back in the picture trying to make amends with mum. So, I'm a bit stuck now.

Names are so hard! I am loving everyone's for boys as well as girls! We have ne of the boy names mentioned, but I won't say which. I don't want to sway any of your naming tactics because I know it's so hard when there's an association. I like older names, too:) Vivienne was one I have loved ever since I saw the movie "secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood", which has several actresses, old and young that I love. The character of "Vivian" in the movie was played by Ashley Judd and the older version is another gorgeous lady. I loved the character and the name. All of it struck me as beautiful. I do have a slight dilemma, which I'm looking past, however. My childhood friend just found me on Facebook. We were first best friends in kindergarten and she has a 6 nth old named Vivienne. Go figure! And then another person, who is a very sweet person, but tends to be extremely braggart about having girls, has a one year old of the same name. I was not excited when she used that name, although I didn't truly expect to need it. Oh well, though! They live in another state. And, I have had that name in my heart forever so I'm not giving it up!
I was wondering...have any of you had a difficult time in sharing the news that you've gotten your dream gender to others who happen to have several children of one gender(same as yours or different) that you know in real life? I have had a hard time with it, as I d not want them to feel the hurt that we all have felt. I happen to have several friends who have all boys. I'm talking a dozen or more ladies who have three or more boys. I'm not kidding. so I have very delicately let it be known or had allowed them to hear it's through the grapevine, as I am just acquainted with several of them, and may not see them often. Anyway, I have felt a guilt about the fact that I'm finally having a girl. Almost as if I've betrayed them...as silly as that sounds. But it's been somewhat nerve-wracking. I have told three more in the past couple of days (all three have three boys). It breaks my heart, though. Anyone else have this issue?
Nahri
March 4th, 2015, 02:06 AM
With having a lochlan so close in relation it may get hard to have the same name just because if you ever talk about each others kids or they are together at play and Oh lochlan did this. Which one?
3boysblessed. I have no one personally that I KNOW of but in both mine in my husbands family darn you for wanting anything but healthy, god will give you what is in his plan science cant do a thing about it blah blah. So if anyone did have a desire they most likely aren't speaking about it. I try not to go overboard with look what I bought, and overly OMG about getting our girl or the fact we will have our one of each. We announced it was a girl, we are excited, heres her name, done. You can only go so far with trying to be polite and correct because some people may get down at the fact you are having what they desired/what you wanted etc. So I just try not to be smearing it all over the place.

Personally I would be happy for friends to get their desired gender so hopefully they see it that way for you 3boysblessed. It's the "others" I really fear if I get a boy again! Like they will be smug! Hate thinking that way for my child like its a consolation prize if it's a boy. I am having terrible anxiety about Saturday now. I've seen quite a few girly looking nubs on other forums getting all girl votes and then finding out they are boys. so now I'm thinking I must have another boy in there as I'm not lucky enough to get my girl :(

March 4th, 2015, 07:00 AM
3boysblessed, I am going to feel like absolute crap telling my cousin that we are expecting a boy. Admittedly, since I had my last girl she has been asking when/if we're going to have another one but, a boy this time. My Aunty (her mum) has been saying the same. My cousin has three boys and had fertility problems while ttc. I won't go into details but, when she had her last son, it was very touch and go for her for a few hours so she won't be having anymore. I love my cousin to bits so I am honestly dreading telling her. I really don't want to hurt her :( Other than that, most people I know either have one child and have no interest for more or have at least one of each.

Hi ladies just popping in to catch up with you all :-),
Boysway- Congrats on your little boy! You must be so excited!
Has anyone else had a 20w gender confirmation? We must be near all the DNS of July/August ladies finding out soon?
I'm 20 weeks this week and have my scan tomorrow- very nervous the tech will suddenly find a willy! (16 wk was a 'looks like a Girl' Outcome) still haven't even told anyone I'm pregnant!! Planning on announcing tomorrow when we have a definite on the gender, I'm a lot smaller than I was with the boys and no where near as much movement (kicking) either.
How is everyone doing? X

I keep thinking about my scan as well this is going to be our only child together as he has 3 girls and I have 5 boys so 1 is quite enough so I know it will be the end of my dream if it's a boy even though I will love it and it means my partner will have his first son( even though he wants a girl 2 ) we've picked names now though so just waiting to see now 12 days and counting I do hope you get your desired gender

Hi ladies, my heart is pounding! Went for my scan - baby was once again facing inwards - couldn't get a profile pic and struggled for what seemed eternity to look for the gender as baby's legs were quite close together but the tech did freeze the screen underneath baby and pointed out the 3 lines + couldn't see any evidence of a boy. She confidently said :XX:Girl! We are thrilled!
Hope everyone else's scans aren't too far away + you all get what you wish for- I look forward to everyone's updates :-) x

Congrats Pinkprincess , great news!!!
Ugee - I can completely relate to how you feel! I knew if I heard b/g twins at my scan it would be one of the happiest days of my life and if I had heard b/b twins I would be so incredibly disappointed and it would be a long 25 weeks waiting to meet them and try to come to terms with it. It's such a scary feeling knowing that the scan has such potential to make you so very happy or so very upset. Good luck and I hope you heard pink!
My anatomy scan is tomorrow and I'm so nervous. I was 15 weeks when they told me b/g and I'm so terrified at 21 weeks things have changed. I have already told everyone that it's b/g twins so I'll feel so stupid if they were wrong at 15 weeks. I haven't bought hardly anything girly yet, I'm just too paranoid. DH is quite good at reading U/S scans and was with me at 15 weeks and tells me I'm absolutely nuts and both he and the tech are positive it's b/g twins, but still doubt remains for me! I'll be so excited to just get through tomorrow and get confirmation! After tomorrow I think I'll finally feel ok buying a dress for her :)

Nahri, Boysway and Ugee- thanks for the feedback in the issue of telling others. The women I know have mostly openly said how they'd have loved to have had a girl (or the one who has two girls said she wants a boy...no more yet yet though) before their last one and haven't been successful in it. One of them was very adamant that their now third son would be her girl. She was really sad, and i just tried to point put all of the bright sides of three boys. I never told anyone I wanted either or gender because it can really sting when it doesn't happen. I've seen how GD can hurt so much. I guess I've experienced that smugness,or at least it sure felt I was getting that from some (not friends, but just people we know from the community and our kids' school, strangers...) after my second and third boys. I definitely do not want to rub it in at all, either. I hate those stupid Facebook posts that some people share : "if you have a (name specific gender here that someone you know does not have!) blah blah blah....". Some people have no common sense.
Boysway, I hope that it goes ok when you tell your cousin. That is very difficult. My cousin's wife has PCOS and they hve had difficulty conceiving at all, but they have a 4 year old daughter and I know they wanted a boy when they were surprised this time being pregnant, but they are having another girl and may not ever have the chance for another:( she is due 3 weeks after me. I also have another relative who has PCOS and was completely surprised a couple years ago with a second boy. When she found out I was having a girl, she completely shut me out, never congratulated me, even. She is just that way, though and it isn't my problem. Still hurts though...but people who hurt do that kind of thing, so I'm just giving her space. I'll stop rambling now, but thanks for the feedback and listening.
I love having all of you ladies here. I'm also really happy that we've had such a high success rate on this thread with sways here and I hope they keep coming for everyone!

Blue bonnet go buy your little lady a dress or five ( tomorrow after your scan confirmation) I too am still stressing my lady is still a lady at 35 weeks even though I saw the three lines and made her check twice and she said she was positive my DH thinks I'm crazy! That's why I love you guys. 3, boys ugggghh I so loathe those Facebook posts too so pathetic!! Fx I keep the statistics high with a successful sway too.
Nahri- as your the resident expert of looking at nubs...there isn't any chance that my girly nub could be boy is there? I keep looking at it and thinking I see a shadow. Also most girly nubs look just straight and flat but mine has like a bend or it's two bits? I know the nub theory is just that a theory but I'm so freeking out about tomorrow. Just popping in to say my anatomy scan went well! It's still a boy and a girl and most importantly they are both looking healthy and measuring on track! I'm so incredibly grateful for my babies and couldn't be happier. I teared up at the scan from the sheer joy of it all. As a child I always wanted boy girl twins when I grew up and although as an adult twins were one of my biggest fears it does feel very special to have a childhood dream come true. Sorry for the mushy post, just feeling so happy today!
Look forward to hearing from you Ugee!

It is so wonderful to read that so many of you girls are getting your much longed for gender. I catch up on here everyday and this really is an amazingly lucky thread! It's why I've waited so long to post anything, I don't want to pee on anyones parade but.......I just wonder why me? My weight loss was good, my timing was good my sway was good! So why am I having another boy? I feel it must be something I did or didn't do as everyone else who swayed has got what they wanted. I'm sorry to put a downer on this thread. I don't even need a response as there is nothing to be said. I just felt I needed to vocalize how I was feeling. I have come to terms with never having a daughter (sort of) and will love this little boy as I do the others.

Oh I'm so sorry. I wish I had some words of wisdom to tell you why. I know I would have felt exactly like you do, and I am sure there are many women out their who swayed and got an opposite and feel like you do now. I'm sorry again, I wish I had answers for you. big, huge hugs.

Me+4. I think sometimes we can do everything possible to put the odds in our favor and luck still isn't on our side. I truly think luck has a big part of it. I do. Sending hugs and thoughts to you. I always hear people with opposites say how special their GD babies are to them. I hope that for you. Xo

Me+4 I'm sorry your sway didn't work, I will feel like you do if mine hasn't either. I will also love the little boy just like you do. My boys have been little angels this week and I truly love them with every part of me and hope if that's all I have I will find peace without a daughter and I hope you do too if it's your last. I wanted to post this to you now as I'm not sure how I will feel later today. Either too sad to say something or to happy and it won't come across as sincere. Hope we keep seeing you on here :bighug:
My scan is at 1.30 today so will update later once we get home. Wish me luck

I did post earlier but, Tapatalk ate it. Me+4, please don't think you're putting a dampener on the thread. You are just saying what's in your heart and head. It's healthy to talk about it. When I was pregnant with my youngest and we found out we were having another girl, I was crushed. I love my girls to bits and wouldn't change them but I longed for a boy. At the time we had no intention whatsoever of having any more kids. It took a little while but once I saw my new baby, the pain pretty much went. I will admit when my sil was pregnant for the first time and she found out she was having a boy, I distanced myself from her. To this day I still feel terrible about it. But, I did get past the pain and enjoyed having another bub of the same gender. You will get there, in fact it sounds like you're already on your way. Remember, we're here for you x

Business.woman, I've just started taking my vitamins again. Only because I've been feeling more tired than usual. I suspect work has a lot to do with it though.
I made my first double layer cake this afternoon/tonight. I made my gender reveal cake. I'll try to add a pic of the cake and the invite.

Me+4, please keep venting to us. So many of us understand your heartache and loss.
We were watching old videos last night of when DD2 and DD3 were tiny. My heart sank a little because I remember how sad I was that DD3 wasn't a boy. I was very aware of the possibility that she might have been my last baby and I tried to treasure it as much as I could. I held that baby girl until my arms were about to fall off and I loved every bit of her but part of my heart was still broken and longing for a boy. That cloud of "what if" followed me around for years and the jealousy of others was a challenge every single day for a long time. I tried so hard back in those days to not let that side of my heart overtake the side of my heart that loved and cherished the joy of babyhood, but honestly, many days it was a 50/50 tug of war. I feel like I cheated myself out of some sweet memories...but I couldn't help it at the time.
I hope your heart and head can divide the joy this little boy will bring your life from the grieving process of not having a girl. I hope that eventually the 'joy of baby boy' will overtake 'the loss of a girl' and you will find peace. I SO wish their was some answer to 'why' in the land of making babies, but their just isn't.
Big hugs mama.

Me+4 - I'm so sorry for what you're going through! You have every right to feel upset and post here whenever you want, that's why we're here! Random question, do boys run in DH's family? Atomic disagrees with me on this, but the science shows 20% of men are carry strong "boy" genes and it's so hard to fight that. My aunt is very much a "girl mom" (diet, personality, exercise patterns, etc) but has 5 boys and 1 girl and her husband was one of 5 boys, his father was one of 6 boys, etc. Boys go way back in his family! Otherwise you had an amazing sway and this little man was obviously meant to join your family. Huge hugs sent your way.
businesswoman - I've have been AWFUL this pregnancy with vitamins, etc. I do know that with prenatals they are extremely important pre-conception and first trimester and once the baby is fully formed (2nd, 3rd trimesters) they aren't as "crucial". I miss many days and don't stress myself about it. It's so much harder growing a baby and caring for a baby at the same time . You moms with 2,3,4+ kids on top of being pregnant are my heros! I can't do this pregnancy + child rearing thing again myself, we are more than done ! :)

Sorry forgot to add that your cake and invites are precious boysway! We did a gender reveal for just family with cupcakes for the twins and had a ball! It's much more fun I think when the mom and dad already know. I threw a gender reveal party for my friend and her and her DH wanted to be surprised. When the Dad found out it was DD2, he was devestated and didn't hide it at the party. Eek.

me4 we all get it and talking about it and letting it out helps you on the road to "recovery" as it were. We all can realize the what if it was us and how we would have felt. It may not mean much coming from one that got their wish but I know how I felt when my first was a boy that I was not thrilled about and thought was potentially my only due to health problems. I had to find the fun things to cheer me up and excite me like decorating his room and collecting all the giraffe stuff that I could find. It was the little things that perked me up and during that time I had NO ONE that I could talk to in real life or online. My mother actually told me I better get over myself because my son would know that I didn't love him. LOVE HIM? we all know how far from the truth that is for each of our children. Support is all important and you have lots of it here :)

I tell you what, this baby is spoilt already. Just mum has spent $400 in one shop for bub. I don't want to even think about how much I have already spent.
Exciting stuff. As just a small token of my appreciation for how good my gender plan was and the ongoing support (I paid for support plus an extra 6 minths). I decided to purchase a gender plan plus support for one very needing lady to pay it forward. I won't go into details but the lady is certainly very deserving of the plan, it also tears me up. I'm so happy I made the decision.

Boysway, what a thoughtful thing you did! What a wonderful gift. I think that is such a great idea.
Atomic was having trouble with her computer a while back and I threatened to do some crowdfunding to get her a new one, but she turned it down. She is a valuable resource for those of us wanting a specific gender and sharing that joy is so important to those of us who have struggled with gender disappointment/desire.
It is hard to see others like Me+4 suffering when we all know she tried as hard as the rest of us did. I have the most respect and compassion for those in that situation.

So sorry angel (but congrats too 💙) with ds3 I really broke my heart crying, and felt so bad for days, but I let it all out. But shopping, even if its online to avoid the other isles, will really help once you are ready. I bought gorgeous new bedding, a new pram, cozy blankets, and new clothes that i really loved etc etc. And did his nursery up, got a new sleigh cot ... Retail therapy really helped me bond and enjoy the rrst of the pregnancy and baby days, because i grieved while pg, his birth was all about him, not the fact he wasn't a girl. Do what you need to do to do and be kind to yourself. Most of us have been there and remember that hurt very much xx

Not good business woman :( I don't know what you could take for a cough. You might need to head to a pharmacy. I hope it goes soon. In regards to cream for stretch marks. I don't know if it will help stretch marks but I use pure coconut oil on my skin. You can't more natural :)

Hi business women, what type of cough so you have? If tickley you should try warm lemonade it just relieves it and stops the cough for a while. If chesty try making lemon/honey/ginger/cinnamon and leave it in the fridge put a teaspoon in hot water and drink it at least morning and night tastes good too!
I also use coconut oil with all mine and no stretch marks yet :-)

pseudoephedrine and phenylephrine are usually the to avoid ingredients. After 12 weeks several are safe Robitussin DM is usually the go to along with cough drops just check with the doc or pharmacist first.

Its never ending. I have my glucose tolerance test next week and I am fairly certain its going to come back that Ive got gestational again. We have a diabetic alert dog. She can smell it when its high. I wasnt feeling too good the other day I felt like I swallowed an entire bowl of sugar after a small handful of gummy bears. She got in my face and would not leave me alone and kept pawing at me which is her sign for go check your sugar.

When did everyone start feeling consistent movement?
I'm almost 18 weeks pregnant, and although I've felt movement starting about two weeks ago it's pretty inconsistent. I usually only feel him (I can't believe I'm saying HIM!!!!) at night, I get so worried during the day and have been on the verge of calling my Dr. but I don't want to be "that" person.

I'm so glad you've put this as I'm the same! I'm 17w 2d and have felt flutters since 15 ish weeks so thought I'd feel her much more by now. But like yourself it's only in the evening. I was wishing I'd bought a Doppler to hear the heartbeat but knew if I wasn't doing it right that would just scare me more. I looked up today when the moment becomes more consistent and its between 22-25 weeks. If you don't feel consistency after that you call your midwife. As I type this I've had about 5 little tiny thumps! :)

With my first DS I would only feel him at night- I worked in the ER and would be constantly on my feet so I think the rocking induced his sleep during the day. Most women won't feel movement when they themselves are moving- it's when we sit quietly and wait for them to kick that we notice (or think we notice) they aren't moving enough! I wouldn't fret too much about it. I used to tap or lightly push my belly sometimes to "check" and he would punch back:)

Ugee -- I'm back to back docs appointments and preschool meetings for me and DS otherwise I'd be in there sooner! Im trying to be conscious of what I eat as if I already had a positive test just to keep things level. Im getting the crashes big time which is no good. I ended up in bed at 8 last night after a day of nothing and I could have fallen asleep standing up!
With DS he was a 15 week that I could feel occasionally and he became consistently on a schedule at about 22. With DD now I didn't for sure feel her until around 18 and just these last few days 26-27 week do I now feel her on a consistent schedule where I could start kick counting if I wanted. Hiccups have started too which drive me bonkers because hers are like a small earthquake. She better reorganize her schedule though LOL DS was a sleeper with small awake periods. She is definitely a mover with many short sleep periods!

They can be trained to do it to act as service dogs to those who are diabetic but some will just naturally do it and you have to reinforce it. She was a natural talent that we reinforced. I was gestational with DS and could not figure out what her issue was and why she was getting in my face then I realized it was corresponding with high sugar readings after meals. So we rewarded her every time she did it and kept the training up over the years!

Hi how's everyone today? I'm feeling huge today, can't put anything on without going "ugh" and taking it off. I did so well at loosing weight and loved feeling tiny in clothes. I was so hoping this time to be lean with a bump but that's not happening. The fact I'm always hungry isn't helping things. Anyone else get 'pregnancy face' also? It's where your cheekbones and any features just mold into one big moon face! ...well I always get it and this time round i happen to be lucky enough to have it now! Early! Anyway I've had my moan, if it wasn't down to all this I actually love being pregnant lol! ;)

1HR GTT test failed which I expected. The horrid 3 hour is on the 26th I fully expect to throw it up like last time. I was lower this time than last which could be a number of factors but last time I never felt CLOSE to this bad. This time I was 165 last time I was 181. Never would have been able to tell last time!
I didnt get moon face last time but I sure as heck did this time. I also seems I have put on more weight this time but that's probably due to me not working like I was with DS. I am at a 10lb gain (4.5kg) for my entire pregnancy so far (27/5) with 10-12 more weeks to go! DS was 2 weeks early so I expect the trend to continue.

I feel huge - but in a different way. With DS I was mostly belly - and I am this time too but I know that i'm wider than before - and I know this because my maternity pants fit differently this time than before. As in tighter.
But it's ok because I prayed for a girl and said I would get fat and ugly and feel like crap... anything to have a girl. LOL

Coconut oil is the only thing that relieves my itchy stomach but I got quite a few stretch marks with DS2 as carried him very low so nothing worked to prevent them. This time round I'm trying not to get too upset with the thought of more and am just drinking plenty of water and moisturising regulary.

I was super tiny at 16 weeks (not obviously pregnant to most people) then by 20 weeks I had the cutest bump but now at 24 weeks OMG I'm huge. I haven't been eating more (if anything I eat less because I get full super easily so my portions are tiny - I guess the twins are already squishing my stomach?), but wow I have a full on 3rd trimester belly already! I've gained 8 lbs between 20-24 weeks (OMG) and I'm already experiencing a little bit of discomfort (harder to get up off the ground , harder to bend over while cleaning up after DS, nearly impossible to chase him, etc). At 20 weeks I took a vacation to the west coast and felt great walking 3-5 miles everyday. Now at 24 weeks I've had to really start slowing down!

Oh such cute bumps, ladies!
I'm trying to play catch-up, here, but have been limiting my online time a lot, but I always read up on you all!
Nahri- I hope that you are ok and able to mange the GD well. That has got to be difficult, but you will feel better, hopefully and not so tired. I have been feeling really tired nd no energy lately...but I was not eating well for a few days, ok I was eating crap and therefore felt like it. As soon as I straightened up over the past couple of days, I am finally feeling much better. I need to avoid the junk carbs altogether or I am a bear. My poor family. I've never had GD, but have felt so awful, so moody that reading your post made me realize I need to be more careful in what I eat!
I am using Bio Oil for stretch marks, although I never had a huge issue with them, but do hve few-I have a few just at my waist line and down to the bikini area. I also have used Fold Bond Extra Dry skin lotion out of absolute desperation from the itchiness I was having on my tummy from the stretching. I normally will not use chemical lotions, but it was such a relief for me!
I'm 26 weeks tomorrow and I feel so huge, as well! I have only gained 7 lbs so far, but I always lose weight in the beginning, so that is why, partially. I try to eat healthy, but I also cannot fit much in my stomach from the time I can finally eat normally, it seems. I am feeling like I have to roll to get up from bed, squatting all the way to the floor to pick up anything is a chore and tums are my friend because I have heartburn so often, now. She kicks me hard like my first son did and is awake as soon as I go to bed, of course! I started feeling more consistent movements around 18 weeks but it significantly increased around 20, so do not worry if you don't feel a lot before then. I was very worried, as well and started looking online and asked my OB, who said it's totally normal. Oh, and the moon face...I do feel quite chubby looking in the face and I look tired and old :( but, I agree it is worth it:)
Nahri- I'm with you. I only have three pairs of decent pants that are maternity pants and I buy L-XL sized shirts with a cute belt very often in place of maternity shirts.and they are so expensive. In that case I hit the Target clearance section and have found the cutest stuff.
Wishing you all a wonderful week and happy Spring in the N hemisphere:) , by the way!

3boysblessed- so far I have been able to control it with diet and I am weeding out the things I cannot have at certain times a day. I had it last time and oatmeal was a fine breakfast. I tried that the other day and it shot my sugar up to the point I felt sick. We went and walked the stores for a while to burn it off and I felt much better after that. I've found I can have it for lunch just not first thing in the morning. I miss fruit mostly because the majority of the stuff I like eating is either higher in sugar or its a carb fruit. So just small pieces as snacks :( But it will all be worth it in the end so I don't
measure ahead or pop out a small moose instead of a 7lb like my DS was.
angel-pink so glad to hear you have found your upswing and have a supportive DH it really does make all the difference!

What is it with you skinny pregnant ladies?
I am huge, almost 27 weeks. This is baby #4 and its certainly different with a boy. I am all out front, looks like I'm smuggling basketballs around.
Bluebonnet, you do not look like you are having twins.
Boysway, I look so much bigger than you! You look great!
And Ugee...you barely look prego.
Missxo, you look great, I can't imagine what this must be like with 2 babies!
I gained 20lbs on the HE diet for almost 2 years so I felt like a piggy before I started getting a massive bump. Now I just feel massive all around. People tell me I look good, but no one in their right mind is going to tell a pregnant woman she looks bad.
I have a picture but its on my phone and I can't post it now. I can post later.
Glad to see everyone is growing so well. This baby is quite squirmy. Dh keeps asking if the girls were this active, I honestly don't remember that kind of stuff. But it does seem like the heartburn, tiny stomach space, and loose pelvic muscles have kicked in a lot faster this time around!

I'm feeling fragile today. So I thought I might pull out bubs things to pick up my mood. I think I have a problem! Excuse the messy bedside tables. I have clothes from 00000-00. I also have another 4 onesies and two boxes of red nose baby wipes on lay-by. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/03/23/138f53864cbf24f01d9b0b9eead1d6ef.jpg

I still think about having a girl but still love This baby and when I feel him kick I do feel guilt about wanting different gender ...but I guess that's a normal feeling but I'm glad I'm not crying my eyes was sore [emoji2]

I think that is totally normal, I felt the same way after DS2 & DS3, DS3 was pretty hard because i did the shuttles mehthod and really thought i was having a girl took a lot not to cry infront of the tech when she said boy, but i got over it with lots of shopping and bonding with feeling him move. Glad your eyes have a break :)

Nahri- I have been thinking of you, since I read your posts about fearing being diagnosed with GD this pregnancy. I too was diagnosed with DS2, and I fear the same with this pregnancy. I am at a much lower weight, but I know that may not matter.
I wanted to pass this along to you- what my OB told me to do to try and ward it off.
Take 200mcg-1000mcg of chromium picolinate. Start by taking 200mcg twice a day and work up from there if need be. This helps to improve glucose tolerance, insulin resistance, and fasting blood glucose numbers.
Alpha Lipoic Acid- 100mg a day. This helps to increase the uptake of glucose.
Magnesium Glycinate- 400mg a day. This helps to improve insulin production when the pancreas may be lax like it is overnight. Also, this form of magnesium does NOT cause constipation. I use the powdered form by Swanson.
I am hoping by the time I do my first test at the 8 week mark, my numbers will be good. I have noticed my increased thirst, fatigue, and dizziness (blurred vision) is gone. I should add that my numbers have mostly been normal when I test (I have leftover testing supplies from DS2 pregnancy) BEFORE I took these supplements. I did have a few that were 1-5 points above normal on occasion. Due to my symptoms, my OB wants me to take them. I take the lowest dose of Chromium right now, but I am only 4.5 weeks.
You can PM me if you want [emoji6].

Cant do the chromium with some of my disabilities, and alpha lipoic makes me shed pounds like crazy! *hint hint for you ladies wanting to drop baby weight afterwards* I always forget about the chelated magnesium thanks for that reminder because the leg cramps are killing me and I dont dare eat any more bananas or any extra potassium supps!

Back from my scan. It's a boy. I am chocked. I feel empty, so sad and disappointed right now. I don't feel happy about this baby at all and even regret trying so soon after DS.
I also feel like an awful person for feeling this way when there are people who aren't able to have any children. [emoji22]

I felt the same way with ds2, and can you believe that 8 years later, he's my soulmate? I swear that kid has been gold from day one! (He's also the boy in my siggy, though he was 5 back then).
Congrats on your beautiful boy. Vent, let out all your emotions - it's the first step to healing! Don't bash yourself. This is normal. Annoying and depressing as hell but normal! We all have dreams, and it sucks when things don't go the way you dreamed of. But it will be okay <3

Thank you so much ladies for your support. It means a lot and knowing so many of you have been through it and got passed it makes me feel better!
I'm trying to just come to terms with being a two boy mom and not putting my hopes to conceiving a third one that hopefully is a girl, I don't want to go through the GD a third time, because then it would be even worse. Also two children is more than enough for me, I never really saw myself having more and I don't want to have a third one just for the gender. I also don't want to do PGD, I don't think my mind and body would handle it.
So I've decided that all the money I was going to put on pink clothes I will save for myself and buy myself really nice things after delivery. Maybe hire a PT and get in the shape of my life! Hubby promised we would get me a new pair of breast after I finish BF if I want to, and I can get a female puppy! He's the best, he's being so understanding!
But for now I need to just grief a bit more

Happy- brothers are the best. They will be so close growing up. I have two older brothers and always felt jealous of their bond. My two sons are so close and adore each other. Plus they are very different personalities. Like chalk and cheese really. Once you are holding your sweet little boy in your arms your heart will fill with love and pride. I'm sure of it :)

Oh Happy I'm so sorry you didn't hear girl. I felt a lot of GD with my second girl, but, like a lot here have mentioned, she's MY baby now. Completely and totally my baby. She truly is my soulmate and I couldn't imagine life without her. I know you will feel the same for your lovely boy. I think getting a PT and getting into shape after he is here will make you feel loads better! Great idea!

I got back from my anatomy scan a little bit ago and everything looks good and he is still alllllllll boy:) The tech said, "well he sure isn't hiding anything there" then when the OB came in, she tried to cover the screen because she didn't know if we wanted to know! LOL I said it's fine, and she said he is definitely a boy and we left smiling from ear to ear.
