Yum yum yum my new cravings, fresh pineapple to eat, and the only thing I drink is blueberry tea!!! I've never had it before until the other day! Now I crave it day in and day out!
I know some teas aren't good for pregnancies does anyone know about blueberry? I'm assuming its fine.

Fish, I understand about the wanting baby to come early. I'm due the 6th and DS1 was 8 days late and DS2 was 14 days late (by scan dates anyway, my dates made them less late). It means another year paying for preschool but luckily we get the 15 hours free - do you not get this? I tried to think on the positive side in that they'll be one of the biggest when they do start school!

As for telling your LOs, I still don't know how we'll do it, but may find heartbeat on the doppler and ask them what they think it is, then tell them.

ah that would be cute have you got one at home...i would be too obessive ;-0

i clearly wouldn't manage very well with twins thou!

I'm terrified of twins! DD3 is one in a few weeks so baby number 4 and she will be close in age but I wouldn't cope with three under two as well as the big girls. I think twins would just about finish me off. I'll see my ob in two weeks so I'll find out then.

Yep. Found HB at 9+5 and listen in most days but not too worried if I forget. It's reassuring though.

No it's strictly herbal, hibiscus and a bunch of blueberry is all that it has, I think, I'm not near it now to read the back of the box.

February 18th, 2013, 12:23 PM
K I am reading that hibiscus has been deemed safe after first trimester so when u can check the ingredients

The only tea I drink when preg is vanilla roobois it's yummy too!

Ugh, I just read the same thing.....I guess I'll be waiting to drink it until after the 1st trimester. I'll probably talk to my dr about it on the 28th too! I'm bummed that I have to stop drinking it.

Ya I stick to the roobois I love it and it's safe :)

But the thing is everything is unsafe these days lol they find a reason to say that about everything I'm sure many woman drank hibiscus and chamomile during pregnancy and were perfectly fine...

Thorz300
February 18th, 2013, 08:40 PM
I keep finding articles that say its safe and others that ay not at all and some that say after 1st trimester. I'm just going to stop drinking it for now, and wait until I can talk to my doc. I'm for sure gonna hold off during my first trimester as everything I read said it could cause spontaneous abortion. I highly doubt I could drink enough for that but to be on the safe side I'm not gonna drink it for now and will wait until I can talk to my dr in 10 days!

How much weight has everyone put on? I'm almost 12 weeks and put on just shy of 5lb :tissue: am absolutely gutted. Thankfully not put any weight on in the last 2-3 weeks, but I just know I'm going to be huge in this pregnancy.

On a plus note, only 46 days until the gender scan!

Thorz300
February 19th, 2013, 07:59 AM
I'm exhausted still and have no energy to do anything other than the bare minimum but my ms is a lot better, I still feel nauseated throughout the day, but it's tolerable. I do get to see my OB starting with my very first appt which is in 9 days. I haven't gained any weight technically because I lost a bunch of weight with my earlier ms. Now I think I've gained that back and am at my starting weight. I'm only 8 weeks though so I need to be careful not to balloon up!

Hey guys. Well I had my NT and CVS on Monday and it all went well and there was definately only 1 baby in there despite taking 2400 FA prior.
US technician said she was pretty sure it was another girl (seriously...what are the odds??) Anyway, she didn't look very long for a nub but I went through my DVD and found a nub to post. It's over at ultrasound predictions titled "Nub and Skull theory enthusiasts....". Take a peek if your want and tell me what you think, and please, please be honest. I am already convinced it's a girl so don't want anyone getting my hopes up to be nice. Will find out this evening anyway from CVS results.

So I know there have been a ton of posts about all the tricks and old wives tales to guess the gender of the baby, but I have to say, there is one I believe/hope is right (although in my head I know it can't be) but even when I was 13 and not thinking of kids it said the same thing that I would have BBBG, it's the pencil needle thread one, where you stick a needle in the erasure of a sharpened pencil, and then thread the needle, hold it over your wrist and they'd it will go in circles and then start swinging horizontal (girl) or vertically (boy) and do a circle in between each gender. It also includes miscarriages. My 2 closest girlfriends and I have been doing it since we were about 13 it has been 100% right on everyone I know. Like I said i started doing this years ago and it has always said BBBG everytime I've done it, or had someone else do it on me over the years more than 100 times and it has never changed. My mom had 6 kids and 1 miscarriage and it was right for her too!! Crazy! A handful of the other "tests" point to girl to but I'm trying to take them with a grain of salt and plan on a boy!!

Wanting-a-girl
February 19th, 2013, 02:49 PM
The pencil lied to me with ds3 told me I was having a girl and my friend was having boy and it was opposite this time it says BBBG so we shall see lol

Well I didn't do that great of a sway because my bmi got too low and it was delaying O. I still took supps, used refresh, skipped breakfast, and ate 0 meat, but I didn't count calories, and snacked more than I should have. I also decided that I just wanted a baby more than a good sway, as the sway was stalling my BFP. So I will probably get boy. However I am pretty religious and every time I pray about it, I feel really good and at peace! Not sure if that mean girl, or if that means, he is reassuring me that HE KNOWS WHAT'S BEST! Either way I'll be happy and ok. I'll just need a little bit to mourn the loss of my dream of having a mother daughter relationship.

The gender scanning place has emailed and said they're more than happy to discreetly do the gender bits, but put it on the DVD for us, and then write it down for us to look later.

I'm a bit torn about where we should read it though. I thought it would be nice if we did it in the restaurant we met and where I went into labour with DS2, but if its boy I am most likely to cry, and don't want to do that in a restaurant full of people!

We might have to go for a wander round the city walls before going to the restaurant and do it there. Hopefully it won't be raining!

I used to work in Radiology, maybe you can ask to wear a lead gown when they take the xrays. That way your bump will be protected from the scatter and it will be safe. Its very low dose, dental xrays (you get far more radiation on a short 3hr plane flight-and how many pregnant women fly??)
I would believe all the procedures you need are safe, but I just hope they dont hurt too much for you!! :worry:
Certainly not what you need whilst pregnant!! Poor thing, I'll be thinking of you! x

reading about everyone's 12 week scans are getting me very excited (and anxious) about mine next friday!! It cant come soon enough!! Basically all my family and friends know, Im showing far too much to have kept it a secret much past 7weeks! So I just have a little voice in the back of my head nagging me and a worried feeling in my stomach. Just want to make sure its all ok as soooooooo many people know already. Had a scan at my OB on monday, so baby is growing spot on, just want to be cleared for downs etc etc....Nub pic is not a priority for me at the moment, I just want to know its healthy. No doubt I will be scrutinising all the images with a fine tooth comb afterwards for the "perfect nub (and maybe skull) shot! lol im a lost cause!!

Oh those cravings.. I am still craving sour things, I need to have my grapefruit every morning  I don't really remember what I was craving with my sons, but I feel like this pregnancy is no different from the other ones. And now since after my scan, I somehow "know" I am having another boy. I didn't get a picture of the nub, but I saw it, the nub pointing up. I realized this last night when I couldn't sleep and since then, I am feeling very low. I found my travel guide of California and trying to imagine a great vacation in two years when we are finally going HT. But somehow, it is not working yet
So not much hope for me.

Please tell me about that CVS test though. How does that work, and why doesen't everyone on here just do the test then to find out? Instead of waiting for another ultrasound... I know I would do it, lol. Is it very expensive? But accurate, right? I haven't heard of anything like that yet. At least it is offered nowhere around here.

hey longing for a girl i was just wondering exact same myself!

here's an nhs llink about it Chorionic villus sampling - NHS Choices (http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Chorionic-Villus-sampling/Pages/Introduction.aspx)

so it's too late for me and the nhs wouldn't do it as I don't have any of the risk catagories don't know how your healthcare works whether you could ask for it ? but we're probably both a bit far along now from what it says on the guidelines x

Well I still have morning sickness, but not so bad that I can't eat. The problem is all food sounds awful to me, I just don't want to eat. The sickness gets worse if I don't eat though and I get really grouchy with my poor boys, so I have to force myself to eat. My blood sugar drops extremely fast and I get light headed and dizzy so I carry starburst favorite red jelly beans with me everywhere I go! I have my first dr appt on Thursday I'm excited to see my baby gummy bear, I wish DH could come with me but sadly he won't be able to go to ANY of my appts because of work!

I'm really big too! It's not too bad in the morning but I do have a small bump morning, can't really do trousers up comfortably! And at night I honestly look about 7 months pregnant! I'm still going to a exercise class I do and haven't told anyone there I'm pregnant but they must laugh deep down as I'm the only one gaining weight in the class! My 12 week scan is on the 11th of march, can't wait to stop hiding my big belly! I have 2 boys already so hopefully it's just down to my skin being stretchier! I just hope I slow down growing! Anybody got any symptom spotting signs which they think could mean they're carrying girl. My only difference with this pregnancy is my nails and hair growth have slowed down, nails are really weak too, obviously my other weird symptom which I prob read further up, and sore boobs which I never had with boys.

February 24th, 2013, 04:34 PM
This pregnancy is very different to my first two nearly identical pregnancies. This is the first time I have had morning sickness. I am a lot bigger with this one but maybe because as pp said just stretchier now. I am very spotty like I'm a teenager again and so tired all the time but this could be because I'm running after two busy little boys. I am trying really hard not to read too much into this pregnancy being different because my MIL had 6 boys and had two very different pregnancies out of the six and still got boys. I have my NT scan on the 18th of March I'll be 13+4 so hoping I will get a good idea of the gender of this little one :)

I'm nine weeks and just had my first gp appointment (I'll see my lovely ob from now on). I've put on 2 kg which isn't horrendous but I'm going to try not to let things get out of control this pregnancy as I tend to stack it on! It always comes off but I hate those few months afterwards of only fitting maternity clothes. I think it's because I normally run a lot but give it up when preggers cos I'm initially too sick/tired and then I'm just too big.

One week till I have my first ob appointment and see the baby! I still have so few symptoms I can't wait to check that it's actually happening! Thorz, my DH missed my scans with my first but now he's working independently he can shuffle his weeks around. Because I'm 39 now things like the nuchal are a bit scary so I need him there for moral support.

Good luck for those having scans this week. We don't have any twins yet? I'm pretty sure I'm not cos I don't really think my bump is big enough.

I do know the prob is I know I will prob see it regardless right? Im also gonna try and remember to record it.... I am just worried to have a perfect looking girl nub that ends up being a boy cause I could imagine that stingy a bit... I would rather just know its a boy you know what I mean.... Less than an hour!

Recording it is a really good idea! I have those nub shots in my mind now, but I have no idea if what I remember is right or not. I am going back and forth and I think before I will know the gender for sure, I will be all tied up in a mental institution, lol!!!

Wishing you lots of luck. Hope they don't make you wait too long. They made me wait two and a half hours... I thought I was going crazy in the waiting room! Lol. crossing my fingers for you!

I am glad it is only one baby. I am so bad at those nub shots I think. I would say girl, but I honestly have no idea. What is that bright line down there in all those pictures? That is not the nub, is it? If so, it looks very girly. But I am so confused regarding those nub shots.
I am sorry you had such a bad tech. I had one of those too, giving me the same speech.. why do they have to bitch about it?

Looking forward to other answers. I hope this is your girl!!!

Are you sure about the dates btw? Maybe you really are already 13 weeks?

One of the other pics have a bit of it there but not the whole thing it's straight and parallel to me... Time will tell I guess I stopped recording it cause it was distracting me so when the nub was on the screen It wasn't recorded... But it was never angled up so I don't know I Guess I'm gonna go crazy for six weeks lol.... I tracked o by CM so I thought I was accurate but I also told the dr the wrong lmp to move my date up lol cause I figured I o'ed early so it's measuring like 10 days ahead

I totally understand! I don't want to get your hopes up, so even though it looks parallel to me, try to take that wih a grain of salt, because if it is a boy, I it will hurt you more because of false nub hopes! It makes me second guess even wanting a nub shot!

This is the hard part.....the nubsessing time. Do you know when your next scan is yet? Some do a 16 week and some at 20. Ugh because I'm not due until the last day of our sept group, I'm living through all of you ladies, I'm only a measly 9 weeks!

Wanting-a-girl
February 25th, 2013, 04:08 PM
well my dr appt is tommorrow my NT scan papers say that there is a 16 week scN WITH it which confuses me cause there never was before... if not the i will be waiting till 18 or 19 weeks....

Longingforgirl
February 25th, 2013, 04:32 PM
What comes next is really the hard part. Not keeping your hopes up... oh so hard..!! The first day after my last scan, I was so sure I saw a girly nub shot. But I didn't have a picture and then now I don't trust my memory and I think I was looking at the wrong part.
I am still trying to imagine that this is a boy, and it is kind of working because I am now pretty sure that I saw a boyish nub shot after all. And I didn't sway at all, I was on such a boy diet...

I really hope that this IS your girl! And I hope you will get your next scan at 16 weeks. 18 or 19 is so late. My OB told me he will not know the gender until 18 or 19 weeks either. Next scan is with 16 weeks though and I hope we will see more by then. I just feel like I will need all the time to prepare for a boy. I still cannot imagine raising "another" boy. My two boys were such a struggle, torture for more than 2 years really and I am so afraid that this is going to happen again.

Well, I am sorry, this part clearly belongs into the Gender Disappointment Section.

I just wanted to say I am crossing my fingers for you!!!

hey wanting a girl so pleased to see your lovely bubba!

I'm wasting £80 on a gender scan at 16weeks in the uk we get 12 and 20 weeks and I can't bear the idea of spending four weeks dreaming of a girl when i could know it's not!!!

two more sleeps to my scan now! i'll be 12+3 so dunno how good the nub will be - think in some ways it might be better not to add to the pain ;-)

a close friend of mine has 2 ds's pretty much same age as mine she miscarrided her third preggy about 3 months ago at 11 weeks, and i know it's not related but this time i just want shift the nagging doubt that the baby will be okay the last two times i wasn't worried at all, also wonder if it's twins - think i'm just fat thou LOL. So not feeling as excited about this 12 week as last two, last two times i didn't know you could 'tell gender' at this point and i think that made it a happier place!

Hi Ladies,

I just came over to GD a couple of days ago and I honestly don't know a lot about "board courtesy" on here, specifically about how you guys feel about new members on a birth month board. I'd love join in if you'll have me though. I live in the US with my hubby and two boys but I am actually from Luxembourg (Europe). I noticed this board is more "international" than other sites, which I love. I also like the fact that there are more women here who understand what it's like to wish for a different gender after having one or two (or many more) of the same.

Oh and I am due Sept 3rd but bub is measuring a few days ahead as all my babies seem to. DS2 was actually born at 42 weeks weighing in at 9lbs6oz (whereas DS1 was born at 36+3 due to pre-e).

Anyway, I am wishing you all healthy and happy pregnancies!

Hey there! So I've seen a few of your posts and it looks like we are in a similar boat, even as far as our somewhat controversial nub shots go. This is my last baby.... :worry:
But I was wondering if this pregnancy has *felt* different to you in any way. As opposed to my first two pregnancies with the boys, I have been feeling more tired, more nauseous, more aversions, bbs grew a lot (they stayed the same with the boys) and feel bumpy and painful, skin is worse than it's ever been in my life, and I am craving cheese like it's going out of style. Before, I could go months without milk, yogurt, or cheese, and not even miss it.
I'm not putting too much stock in these things because I know it's totally possibly to have a very different pregnancy and still carry another boy.
I was curious about your experience though.

So this pregnancy is hell compared to three of my boys combined lol I was never sick with the boys not once! My boobs only grew with my first and that's cause I was 16 and this time I grew out of my bra already! I hugged my toilet for two months I'm starting to feel better now... But I was throwing up in stores and everything lol.... I never had aversions with the boys and I have aversions to so many things lol I have just started to actually eat meals again the past few days... The actual study about nub theory talks about angle it doesn't talk about things on the end clearly mine is straight and pretty parallel so we will see... I will have to take a look at yours... Also I'm craving icecream and I hate icecream lol... With my boys I craved vinager

Thorz I really do feel your pain on the moody/grumpy. With my two boys I never felt "hormonal" or that I had a short temper. I felt like myself. However, this PG I have been such a raging hormonal psycho!! I will go from calm to screaming at my kids in 2 seconds and afterward I feel really bad and I wonder "who in the hell am I right now?" That's funny I'm like that too, feel slightly on the edge of shouting all the time! And sometimes I do and I laugh afterwards as I really can't stop myself it just comes out!! My partner has been getting on my nerves too! I felt amazing with my boys me and hubby were so close then, I'm afraid it hasn't happened this time. Just hoping I'll be better at 12 weeks. I'm so big and bloated too. I think I am the size I was at 5 months with boys. Plus really tired don't often make it past 9pm as I'm usually feeling sick by then! The joys of pregnancy x

After being relatively good with the snacking for over a week, I've now gone and been awful this afternoon! I had crusty bread and pickled jalapeños in front of me! I just had to add some cheese and have a small sandwich! Then another, with more jalapeños!!! Eek! I REALLY want another but have FIL coming for dinner in an hour.

Think I'll be adding a fair few of the hot little packets of gorgeousness to my pizza! I've always loved them but in pregnancy they're AMAZING!!! It's no wonder my kids like spicy food ;)

I recommend checking online for all the places that do gender scans, and check for their sites and coupons! You can get deals! We got one. And also... if you can I HIGHLY recommend getting the CD. My DD was most adorable at that (whole body fits on the screen stage) and I cherished those pictures, I wish I could have gotten the CD! Yes i took clomid as i wasn't o-ing consistnatly
i did get a lok at the nub on twin 1 and it looked girly to my poorly trained eye - tryinmg not to get hopes up

they think they are non identical the placenta was very close together but there was a sort of line down it which sonographer said meant she thought 2 placentas next to each other. cutewise a bit disapointed healthwise it's much better for them and gives a better chance in my mind that oone (or more) is a girl!

Only 44 hours until my 13 week scan! Starting to get really excited.

I've not had any dreams about baby yet, but had 3 rather naughty dreams where I'm DTD with men I don't know! Each one ends just before it climaxes which is really frustrating! I think I've had 2 other naughty dreams in my life, and certainly not with the boys, so hoping its girly hormones coursing through me!!

15 hrs until my NT scan! Super excited but so nervous to know little bubs is all ok. Ive had shocking morning sickness that just isnt going away (today was a bad day, I had to pull over in the car with all the kids and throw up on the freeway!)
Frightened the kids I think!
Then to top it off Ive had 2 colds, currently got a shocking throat infection and have lost my voice! Im never normally sick, and feel Ive just spent the last 12weeks day in and day out totally under the weather.
I just need reasurring that it hasnt affected bubs in there as I never got any of these sicknesses with my other pregnancies...

OMG Fish, twins! The last nub definitely looks girly. And aren't B/B fraternal twins the least common combination? You're bound to have at least one girl in there.

Thorz, I know someone who had GBB and *knew* her last was a girl because she'd dreamt about her and because her DH was sure and he'd been right with the other three. Well, of course, she had a third boy. I'll accept that some women do have a sense of what they're having (although with a 50% chance of being right it's not hard to be right) but once we have a preferred gender I reckon that intuition gets skewed. I had loads of dreams about DD3 being a boy and of course she's a very cute little miss.

Salsa, I'm in Aussie too. What time tomorrow is your nuchal?

Ugh I am so very frustrated, I went to my appt this morning only to find out that it was just for blood and paper work and that I have to go back tomorrow for the ultrasound! I'm bugged because they should have told me that a head of time that they were two separate appts, now I have to try and find a babysitter for all 3 of my little boys in less than 24 hours. The thing I am most bummed about though is apparently they do not do a 12 week scan. I will have one done tomorrow (9w4days) and then not again until my 20 week scan! :( I wont even get the chance to nub guess! I wonder what my dr will do if I cancel my ultrasound tomorrow, and then tell her that I wont be able to reschedule for 2 weeks! There is a thought!

Omg serious that is a huge dissapointment!

With ds3 I could not wait any longer to find out what he was so I went to the hospital told a little fib to get a u/s as terrible as that is to do it really helped me ;) that is so weird that they don't do a 12 week you should ask why as it is a screening test that you are entitled to

LOL I've already thought of doing that too, but its so hard to just up and go to the hospital when I have 3 kids and they make you get checked and all this fuss, I don't have the time for the fuss they make when you are having "issues" I'm just going to try and talk to my dr. tomorrow! but in the meantime, I am super bummed!

that is exactly what I would do, you have the perfect opportunity (can't get a babysitter) and I woul advise scheduling it more 13 weeks rather than 12 because gender is much more obvious at 13 weeks. GL

So are you not having an NT scan done? Are they just doing an amnio at 16 weeks or are they doing MaterniT21 like my OB did? Not sure why but I guess I thought you would have qualified for an NT scan??

I didn't get a NT scan because I had the MaterniT21 testing done. I would do what Atomic suggested, tell them that you aren't available because you thought it was being done today and then tell them your availability is somewhere in the 13 week range.

I got a 13 week scan because I told the MA that I wanted them to rule out Turners. When I had MaterniT21 done they didn't test for Turners but a week later they started. I know it seems stupid but that is the game you have to play to get what you want when you want it:)

They didn't have an earlier date at our local office, but it occurred to me that Ds2's birthday was on the 30th and it would be nice for him to see his little brother/sister, so I emailed the office and asked if they could fit us in any earlier, and they only could if we went to the office about 45 mins away. So, we're making a day of it and will plan lunch out and playbarn, etc.

I am just so sure its a boy, so want to kind of get it over and done with do I can grieve and move on hopefully!

So I thought that the more confirmed nubs I look at, the more I'd get an idea of what to expect with this baby. But I feel even more confused now and it really seems 50/50. Shouldn't it be clearer at 13 weeks? I've seen many "perfect boy nubs" turn out to be girls and vice versa. Not to mention that the stills from my video are so vastly different, it's like I have two babies in there. But I don't. :nyd:

Also, I scheduled an elective scan for when I am 16 weeks but I found out a couple of days ago that they found a small amount of tricuspid regurgitation in bub's heart. Supposedly it's normal blood flow variation *most* of the time but they still like to move up the anatomy scan to 18 weeks instead of 20 weeks. The elective scan place only does ultrasounds if you've had previous "normal" ultrasounds, so do I have to cancel that now? So confused. :(

It's odd not to offer a nuchal, well it's odd for here. Mine is a real "industry", I have my bloods, go to a special USS place where they only do pregnant women, get scanned and then meet with the fetal medicine guy to discuss my overall "risk" based on age, bloods and scan. You're not necessarily going to pick up Down Syndrome at the 20 week scan if the heart etc is normal.

Even if you get an abnormal result and don't pursue it cos you wouldn't consider termination etc it's good to be aware of any potential problems earlier, I think.

hey sorry to hear of worries about the health of your bubba! if you just want the 16 week scan for gender i'd go for it and pretend you didn't realsie if they say anything and you can say to them i'm having an 18wk scan for this possiable condition so need to look at that xx

They offer a test that is just like the MaterniT2I but it doesn't give any gender results she said. But I do not qualify for the test under my insurance so she said it might cost $700! I'm not 35 yet, if I was 35 or older the insurance would more than likely cover it. I have never ever had this happen, with all my other pg they did it at 12 weeks. I guess I was hoping for a scan at 1st appt, 12 weeks, and 20 weeks like all my others. I think I will just call and reschedule, I have no reason to believe there is anything wrong right now, and I think it is actually more beneficial to have the scan later than sooner. I'm still bummed though!

Ugh the more I think about it, the more I am just not happy with this place. I might just start looking for a new OB. I know that my GP really wanted me to go to her, but she is a really young new dr and I told her I would just be sticking with my OB. I might give her a call and see what they have to offer. Has anyone ever switched DR's before, after going to the first appt? Has anyone ever used their family Dr instead of an OB?

Not sure how that works... if you use your family Dr. is that who delivers the baby? If so I would say a big fat no to that:) You should switch if you aren't comfortable. I didn't switch with DS1 when I wish I would have. I knew after a couple of appointments that I didn't like her and she was insanely incompetent and I still stuck with her. This is how I look at it... I don't really care who does my appointments. Any yahoo can measure my belly and tell me how dilated I am. What I want is someone who is going to be there for the delivery because if things go wrong you want someone who knows what they are doing. If you don't like them then switch now... no big deal to switch now.

Well that is sort of the reason I want to switch, they say that more than likely my dr wont be the one to actually deliver my baby and that they can only guarantee that it will be one of their 6 docs at the office. I don't like that, all my docs have been the ones to do the deliveries with my other 3 kiddos!

I don't understand the system here either and I feel lost! I want to go back home to Utah and have this baby!! LOL this is my first baby in Ohio, so I just had to go through my insurance to find an OB I LOVED my DR for all my other babies! I really want to switch dr's but I don't know where to turn and feel like I'll just keep having the same problem. I don't want to bounce around to a bunch of different docs. I actually like the dr I am seeing, I just don't like the system the clinic has. As luck would have it, my poor baby seems to be coming down with something, so I have to cancel my scan for tomorrow anyway, I may just conveniently be un available for the next 3 weeks because of sick kids!!!!

Hi Mum to three girls, its at 10am WA time. So anxious. I was never this anxious with my others, I dont know why Im suddenly stressing. I just feel Ive had such a bad run with sicknesses I hope the bubs is all ok and healthy in there!!

How disappointing! Can you go to an independant place for your 12 week scan? Your doc should give you a referral if you ask for one. Its your right to know what is going on in your own pregnancy. And if you want to test for downs etc then you should be able to, even if your doc doesnt routinely do that. You still have time to sort it out, you have up until 13wks and 5 days to do the scan. If you do get your doc to refer you, make sure he also refers you for bloods to be taken in conjunction with the scan. They then use your maternal age, your bloodwork AND the scan NT measurment to put into a formula and it spits out a probability of risk. Hope that all makes sense. Just wanting to make sure that if he doesnt routinely do it, he knows what you need!! Good luck x x
