And I do have to add... today my little guy is 22+3 weeks gestation which is the youngest gestational age I've ever personally seen survive. So crazy to think about.

It's boy #3 for us officially ladies. Thankfully my cervix is also looking normal at 4.2cm so hopefully I can at least have a healthy delivery for this one. We have agreed we'll go hard into s girl sway right after birth this time and aim for 4th and final in January 2017.

Congrats on DS3. I know how badly you wanted to hear pink. I went for baby number 4 when he (DS3) was 6 months old. It took me 4.5 months to conceive. So he was 10.5 months when I conceived and 19 months when his sister was born. They are now 5 yo (6 in June) and 4 yo :)

TaytumJ
March 19th, 2016, 08:39 AM
PUPPS stands for Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques and apparently it's just basically itchy red rash that usually starts in 3rd trimester until delivery. I guess it's most likely to be caused by just an allergic reaction to baby? They say 70% more likely to happen to moms carrying boys, so maybe this is a blue bean! [emoji170] They say it's harmless to mom and baby, but, they may induce me earlier if it gets out of control. I'll have to ask at my next appointment on the 24th!

Super annoying! [emoji30] I've been trying really hard to stay on top of it. I bought some Babyganics eczema cream and that has really helped. Last night I bathed in it basically and actually slept through the night!

I thought maybe it was just normal skin stretching on my stomach until the little red bumps showed up. Hopefully you find some relief too Netti!

Adorable pic of your little princess mammacass!

Fiya I love her nursery decorations! And love that you made them. They are so cute!

So sorry to hear about your PUPP syndrome taytum. I hear most of the time its only a first pregnancy thing. Your maternity pics are gorgeous!!

Afm, doing well! Isaac is such a mover! Only 23 weeks and people can see him kicking from the outside now. So much for them telling me I wouldn't feel him as much due to an anterior placenta. I love it so much!

Of course we admitted a 23 weeker on the day I turned 23 weeks. I see these small babies all the time but it's so much harder when my baby is the same gestation. I went to help with the admission but had to leave because I found myself getting a little too protective of her:sad:

Taytum sorry to year about your pupps. :( It sounds terrible. I hope you can find some relief.

Luvmyfam it must be so hard to see those tiny babies and what the families have to go through. :( Wonderful that your young Isaac is moving so much though.

Is anyone getting braxton hicks this early??? I've just gone 21 weeks and had a few yesterday and today. With DS1 I got them 2weeks before labour, DS2 if I recall correctly was around 28-32 weeks. Is 21 weeks too early or do they come earlier with each pregnancy?

netti02
March 20th, 2016, 04:31 AM
Violet ive had a few. I remember getting them this early with ds3 and i was freaking out. Also got them with ds4 and ive had them for a few weeks now but there painless and just hardenings.

Thanks Netti! They are painless just that stong tightening feeling. Only realised today that's what they were. My body feels ready and relaxed (downstairs ) this time if that makes sense. I feel a lot further along than 21 weeks. I hope it doesn't mean bub will arrive too early.

sweetdream
March 20th, 2016, 05:58 AM
Don't worry! Just keep it in check. If you feel something is wrong go to the doc!
The more children you get the earlier these things happen. With my fourth they saw contractions every 5 min on ctg since 34 weeks. I was checked like 3 times.
And later i was sweeped 3 times and she showed at her own time on her due date! The 2 brothers before her were at 39 and 38 weeks.
So it doesn't have to mean anything.

(And BH i starts around 20 weeks. Maybe you need to slow down a bit and keep a close eye in case of a uti )

Violet Winter
March 20th, 2016, 06:31 AM
Thanks you sweetdream! I will definitely go to the doctor or emergency if I feel something is wrong. I'm seeing my doc this week for a standard check so I'll let them know. Im hoping it's all because my body is more relaxed after the previous pregnancies. I will try to slow down but its hard too when I'm running after two litlle ones :D DS1 was 10days late and had to be induced and ds2 came at 39weeks.

TaytumJ
March 20th, 2016, 10:24 AM
I feel like I got BH early in general too - around 20 weeks, but this is my first! I asked my doctor about it and all docs I saw in the office said it was normal and as long as it's not more than 4 in one hour not to worry. I get them more when I don't drink as much water or baby is moving around. Hope yours aren't too bad Violet!

Same with me ladies. I started having BH this time pretty soon. I get 7 or 8 usually in a day. Its not painful but quiet hardening. I have an ultrasound at 32 weeks to see if my placenta has moved and baby is head down or not. I m 27 weeks right now. So 5 more weeks to go for ultrasound n my doc will decide if i m going to have a c section or i m trying vbac [emoji85]
I get numb leg at night on the side i sleep. And it hurts too. Is it all normal?
I never got this with my boys[emoji21]

I have been having them since week 20 at least. They take my breath away but r not painful.
With DD2 however these same lead to my water breaking at 39 weeks and baby being almost born at home. Nurse at the doc office helpline counselled me to rest and hydrate but i guess it still lead to labour. The only good thing was i never really had a painful labour untill after the water broke so didnt need any epidurals 😊

Violet I feel like when it comes to this you really have to know your body and pay attention to your body. Everyone is different. I have uterine irritability and I have frequent, sometimes painful contractions through my pregnancies starting around 20 weeks. Since I've been through this a couple of times I know my normal. They even told me I was in labor when I went in for my induction with ds 1 because of the contractions they were picking up on the monitor but I new better and told them "no, I've been having this for months" and they still had to start me on pitocin. If it feels outside your norm I would definitely ask your doctor about it. I was constantly asking about it with ds 1 and even though it ended up being fine I definitely don't regret asking all kinds of questions. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water too.

I had quite intense BH with my first son, to the point where I went in for observation and they wanted me to stay over night because they thought I was in labour, but like luvmyfam, I informed them that I had been having these tightenings for at least a month lol trust your body and dont hesitate to goto Dr/hospital if you are worried. Hope everyone is well, I had DS2 down for a whole week with vomiting bug and really high fevers... since wednesday he had a fever that never slowed down once, it was peaking at 39.6 and I was quite worried for him. Thankfully yesterday he woke up without fever and is on the mend.

Violet with all of my pregnancies I have had braxton hicks from quite early on, I take it as a good sign as I have had quite quick deliveries - haven't delivered super early only 1-2 wks. But I definitely agree with the other ladies that you should check with dr if concerned :)

@boyzmommy - yea my son also gets delirious and talks all funny in his sleep when he has high fevers, its horrible. And I had the opposite trouble with water, DS2 kept gulping so much water that he would vomit it straight back up and if I tried to get him just to sip, he would have a full out tantrum!!! gah, sick kids :(

p.s. my name is actually Leah :P I have a good friend who has the same name but its spelled Leigha, I have not seen it spelled those other ways before, they are very cool :)

Hi ladies!!! I've been AWOL for the last couple of weeks, just trying to catch up now! All the u/s pics are making me SO want another u/s!!! What gorgeous babies we make girls ;)

@taytum I love your maternity pics!!!! Sorry to hear you may have PUPPS, never had any experience with it but it seems so unpleasant. I do have eczema though, it runs in my mothers family unfortunately so I know how awful the itch can be!

I can't believe we are all so far along in our journey!!! Over halfway now. I am feeling so much movement, all down very low. My little man is head down facing my back so all I feel are little fists bopping away down by my underwear line lol. Seems to be non stop though! BH have started here in the past week or so. Not sore just tight. I'm apprehensive about this labour being as fast or heaven forbid faster than DS2 (30 minutes start to finish!) but I know BH mean nothing anyway so not letting them get to me.

I have posted in the GDesire part of the forum about stupid comments, have received quite a few of them lately and as much as I try to not let them get to me I feel like they are taking the shine off this pregnancy a little. Some days I just want to be delivered and have little man here, if I had him to snuggle the stupid comments would be easier deal with.
As much as I am in love with this baby I find my GD being triggered a lot lately. A lot of mothers from my two previous due date groups on FB have had their second children lately and every single one of them has had the opposite to what they have at home giving them their PP and they are all so vocal about feeling like they are finally complete with their boy and their girl. I have told them we are having our third boy and - yup, you guessed it. Got some really stupid comments like "Oh no, are you so sad?" or "Oh I'd hate to be you!" Obviously the preggo hormones are making these usually lovely women say ridiculous crap but it just makes me sad. And then the guilt hits etc etc. Its a vicious cycle. Normally I wouldn't give a hoot what people say/think but I'm assuming its the hormones making it a bit harder to stomach...

Anyways, thats about all thats going on here. We are planning a little family trip for a week in May/June, our last as a foursome, and thats been taking my mind off things. Hope everyone is well here! Home stretch ladies, we've got this :D

Hi ladies,

It's been a while since I've been here the last time to read everyone, but here I am :)

@Mammacass: your princess is such a beauty. How did everyone react? Especially your closest family and friends? Do you have a name picked out yet?

@Taytum: such beautiful maternity pictures. I love the colour of your dress on that picture, it's lovely! And i hope you'll be able to get the itching under control, it sounds awful. Time flies for you, May is approching very very fast :)

@Lovmyfam: my little Pauline moves a lot tooo and I see her kicking from the outside as well. Your job must be so hard sometimes, but also very rewarding, isn't it?

@Violetwinter: I'm also having Braxton Hicks pretty often, but I asked the midwive the last time and she said it's more common with every pregnancy. She also measured my cervix, which was more than 4, so ok. She said if they get painful and very reoccuring, I must come in for a check.

@Milybaby: I'm happy to hear you're doing fine and you're soo in love with your thirth little guy. Do you already have a name picked out? My boys names are Noah and Mathis and I thought Pauline was just perfect with it :HH: My hubby wanted to name her Lena, but I won :)

@Missiz: good luck with your scan :) I will be checking over here for a beautiful picture of your little girl.

@Boyzmommy: very pretty name and I like Lya a lot! It's modern. But I see ladies here telling it's pronounced differently than Leah. So how is Leah pronounced in English?

@Hopper: oh my god, I'm shocked. People are sooo insensitive. Are they really telling you they'd hate to be you? That's mean! You'll soon have 3 wonderful boys to cherish :HH: Please don't pay attention to those comments. They are rubbish!

Taytum - - Have you tried the Gold Bond Extra Strength Medicated Lotion yet? Years ago, my friend had PUPPS (I was her doula) and this is the one thing that helped her. She would put it on and stand in front of a fan. It has menthol so is very cooling. And yes, she was pregnant with a boy. ;)

@ hopper i m so sorry about ppl being so ignorant. I announced gender to my close family n my sis in law commented that at last ur family is complete. I ws very offended on this comment n told her that if it would have been a boy, my family would have been complete by him as well. Every new baby boy or a girl is a blessing. Its only our desire to experience both but it doesn't mean u have to have both to make a complete family. She herself wanted a boy after two girls so badly. She should not comment like this[emoji17]

Thanks ladies for the replies. I got a great reply from familymatters on the post I made and it sums up everything so well. She said
The thing is, is that you're very happy you're having a boy, but you also wish you were having a girl. These emotions are complex enough without the general public muddying the waters. and that just encompasses everything. I am already feeling so all over the place about my own feelings and now these remarks are colouring my feelings even further. I'm sure it will get easier. I've asked DH to make the necessary phone calls to just let the rest of his family know we are having another boy as once they know I can just respond however I please to people asking me if we are team blue or pink (FWIW I will be responding with a big smile on my face and a self deprecating remark like "I better start saving for all the after school sports activities now!" or "They'll eat me out of house and home!" If I say something like that before they get a chance to be negative/stupid then at least it's all on my own terms!!

@Fiya I adore your nursery!!! It looks absolutely amazing! And I love your name choice - Pauline sounds lovely with Noah and Mathis!! :) We were settling on calling this little man Harry (We have a Will and Jamie) but there seems to have been a ressurgence of it lately. I've heard two people I know call their newborn sons Harry in the past 3 weeks so now I'm debating whether to use it or now. DS1 is adamant that we use it but I think I might have him liking Alexander also even though DH isn't too keen on it. I also like Oscar and Matthew. DH's other boy name that he likes is Cody, which is nice too but not in my top 5. I've always had final say on what names we've used up to now so fingers crossed that trend continues lol!!! DS1 was supposed to be Caleb or Jacob but within 2 minutes of his birth I said he was Will and that was that. DS2 was meant to be Zachary and then DH wanted to call him Jack but when he was born I said I wanted to call him Jamie and again I won :P I'll just keep referring to bump as "baby" instead of a name as we have been doing and hopefully the boys will forget that he was supposed to be Harry and I can pick a name when he arrives like I've done before ;)

I have a question for mamas of 2-3+ kids - did your labours get faster over time or did they all vary? There was 23 months between DS1 and DS2 and my labour was just over 30 minutes after induction by ARM on DS2. I was already 3cm when I went in for induction. DS1's labour was around 12 hours from first twinge and 0cm dilated to holding him but I got the epidural at 6cm which was about 7.5 hours in and they allowed at least 2 hours of passive descent once I got to 10cm which was about 20 minutes after they put the epidural in. So basically based on my history active labour has been fast but its getting to the 3-4cm active stage that can take its time. I'm just worried that I'll be 3-4cm dilated and not know it and end up with an unplanned homebirth (the upside of being in talks of a 4th child with DH is that he has said that if we do go ahead with a 4th he will consider allowing me apply for a homebirth which would be my dream!)

So I was stretching this morning at work and I was giggling because I havent shared a bump picture but I thought I'd share my daily view 😂 Not my best outfit or position but here it is 😄

On another note, I saw my specialist yesterday and this baby is measuring two weeks ahead. They kept asking if I had diabetes but they already had my lab results from a three hour glucose test I did this past Saturday. Apparently I do not have gestational diabetes or pre diabetes but my fasting levels are a little high. I did mention I have large babies and they agreed I will have another big baby but they still want me to check my sugars and blood pressure 4x a day. Not looking forward to it 😒http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160322/086b58db5724d5aded930d4a10286730.jpg

Hi ladies, well we had our scan yesterday and I am happy to say that our little peanut is healthy and happy, is measuring on target and its also confirmed that we are indeed having a little girl!! *squeeelll* our sonographer was awesome and very informative, he explained everything he was checking and measuring as he went along and he just made it a very reasuring lovely experience. I think one of the craziest things he was able to show us was the lens on bubs eyeball!!! I didnt even know that was possible on ultrasounds now but it was definitely visible :)

Here is a profile on her face :awe:

@Yogi: lovely bump! And as for checking your sugar levels, does that mean you have to take a drop of blood yourself?

@Missiz: what a sweet little lady you have there :HH: I'm glad everything looked fine and that you got confirmation of the gender. Have you started buying things for her?

How is everyone else doing? Here, everything is great! Now that her room is finished, I'm starting to clean the whole house from head to toe, because when I'll be 30-35 weeks, it'll be very hot in the south of France and I'll just want to relax by then. We've also bought a new family car (Volkswagen Touran), so we're starting to get ready for this little one.

My belly is getting bigger very fast now

Missiz - so beautiful!! What a great experience! I've never seen lens on an eyeball, I bet that was neat! Congrats on that beautiful little girl! [emoji175]

Fiya: Love the baby bump and the wallpaper! I'm also super jealous you have the nursery done. I had one shower this weekend and we got a lot of stuff and I was overwhelmed organizing it. I got it all organized (I believe), but have another shower this weekend and then I'm going to return some stuff. We got more than we'll ever need and stuff we didn't register for. So hopefully I can get the things we want!

Speaking of which, any must haves you ladies recommend to a FTM? We have quite a few things, just don't want to be missing the important things!

Ladies a question ...
I have been looking at u gals getting ur gender confirmations and clear as day potty shots. And i know ultrasound tech r always right but the thing is i never got to see my sono and the only "potty shot" i have is inconclusive.
So do all normal uncomplicated pregnancies get another sono at the OB's before birth or its not a must ? If u were me would u get an elective or trust ur tech. I mean i cant seem to justify the cost of an elective if there is a chance that the OB will look once more b4 birth.

Bluebooties, I don't know that ultrasound techs are always 100% but most are pretty accurate. I have a midwife so I only have 1 u/s at 20 and no more, unless there is a reason. But in my experience, most OBs will do another u/s around 36 weeks or so to check on baby's position, etc. But it can be hard to get a potty shot that late. Are you having boy or girl? Most times boys are hard to mistake.

I am having a girl. I have a potty shot that isnt labelled and really doesnot show much.It came with a small note saying its a girl so thats how i know what i am having.
I am hoping i will get one at the OB's I am 30 weeks already so not long to go.

I love all of the adorable bump shots! Everyone looks gorgeous! I will attach my 24 week bump shot.

Lovely bumps ladies

I haven't been feeling the greatest. Lots of braxton hicks the last few days thinking i may have just done too much around the house and i joined the gym and started going there.

Its been a trying day at home ds3 isn't keen on day sleeps anymore and he turns into Mr Cranky that and housework.

GD is really lurking like a bad dream in the background on repeat. My DHs cousin who is having a girl must be going for csection or inducing tmro. I find myself getting teary eyed at girls stuff and girls names i wanted to choose. Im just thankful for my healthy boys.

Pretty soon we will all have our squishy pink newborns in our arms 😍

Bump pics are great ladies! Love seeing the progression on this journey we are all sharing! Home stretch is getting closer and closer, I think I will really panic when the babies start to arrive!!!! I went a week early on DS1 and was induced a week late on DS2 so this baby could arrive at any stage. DS2 was sunny side up though and labour was very stop and start as he wasn't in the best position til they released my waters so maybe this little man will co-operate and be in a good position. Here's my bump today at 22+1. I'm carrying smaller than DS2 I think but again I reckon thats due to positioning and the fact my placenta was anterior last time, its posterior this time.

30531

@boyz I LOVE the stroller!! Definitely you will be able to pink it out when the time comes ;)

@bluebooties I have heard great things about that earth mama spray!! I really must pick some up when I start to gather together my hospital bag. As for the sono being wrong, I have heard of it even in recent times but I think occasions are rare.
An old work colleague was told she was having a girl back in 2006 and she popped out a boy. Fast forward to her 4th baby in 2013 and she was told she was having a boy (would have been her 4th boy) and out popped a girl! Two different hospitals and two different private gender scan places got it wrong for her twice! Obviously she was delighted to finally get the girl she was told she was having on her first pregnancy but she said it really messed her up for a while. I don't know personally know anyone else it has happened to. Its crazy it happened to her twice!!

@netti oh hun I am sending massive hugs your way. That GD is a monster and it rears its ugly head here at least once a day. I try to be mindful and not let it build up, its easier to let it out than to bottle it up. Healthier too! DH is having second thoughts about a 4th child so I feel that might be contributing to my GD at the minute. Our two boys are going through difficult stages at the moment and he's just feeling overwhelmed with the idea of another one joining us shortly. He says he hopes I will feel complete when DS3 gets here. I would love to be able to say that I will feel done and happy but right now I just don't see it happening. Its hard. But we are here, and if you ever want to just talk PM me. I'm not online as much as before but I do try to lurk when I can. Maybe us opposites might be better off setting up another thread!

DH and I are at odds over what to call this little one!!! He won't even discuss it anymore! I named our older boys. DS1 was named at birth (we thought he was a she so DH only had his girl name and no boy names prepared but I had both lol) DS2 was 24 hours old when he was named as we were disagreeing and in the end my "pushing vote" won so I named him. DH said that we have agreed on a name since 16 weeks and he is attached to it now. I still like it however the issue is two girl friends of mine have recently called their newborn sons by this name too and another friend due a boy in June has said its in her top 3!! It seems to be gaining popularity a lot more of late and its off putting. I have another name I love but couldn't use before as my cousin has a 5 year old with the same name but as we don't really socialise with him I don't see the issue any more. its so hard to find a nice boys name that we both agree on!!!!!! And harder still when DH is refusing to budge!! He's driving me BATTY lately! ANyone else having this issue with their OHs??

Lol hopper. With this being ds5 im just running out of names now 😂 we are going with Lachlon though we also liked Wynston. (My other boys are Brandon, Cameron, Jackson and Braxton so needed the 'on' and 7 letters 😄)

I think i have been letting the GD build up abit and not letting it out bit by bit. It doesn't help i still have the girls stuff set aside to sort through. Im waiting to see what my best friend is having and i may just be able to get rid of it in one go 😊

And omg ive really only had gender 'confirmed'at the 17 week gender ultrasound yet im sure i could still see the goods at the 20 week ultrasound and the sonograpger agreed. At the 17 week gender reveal he was adamant it was a boy and the only way it would be a girl is in Thailand (his joke not mine 😮 ) The last one we didn't even really bother checking and legs were closed. I can say if it happened to me id be a mess. Ive gotten so used to my 5th boy and his name and clothes shopping for blue It would be like that joy and chance would be taken from you.

Me! My DH and I couldn't agree on a name to save my life for DS1! I had a dream about DS1 and he was called Elliot. My DH liked it! He named DS2 as we had to make sure DS1 could say it. He is named Isaac. DS3, we had a name picked out, but it didn't seem to fit him once we met him. Of course we couldn't agree on another name, haha! My nurse told us the story of her favorite boy name (she's is a mom of three boys too), and wrote on the whiteboard all of the possibilities for us. We liked her name, Aaron with the middle name we liked, Michael [emoji4].

My DH always flip flops when TTCing! I never believe what he says as he can get overwhelmed at the drop of a hat but loved kids and being a dad. He's a school principal so you'd think he could multitask at home but nope, haha! I just rely on his past behavior to predict his actions- he loves to BD frequently and loves kids. As long as O don't talk about it and listen when he brings it up, when I say how much it means to me, he follows through. He will freak out the whole way, but he will commit in the end!

Hopefully yours will too, Hopper!

I've been flip flopping names too!! We had decided long ago (when discussing TTC 2 years ago) on Cannon Leo. It's just a strong, unique name IMO, but not too crazy. We'd added Jett Leo to the rotation and I loved it, DH hated.

Last weekend I caved and told a friend our options. Both DH and I settled on Cannon as I can see it on Xmas cards, letters, a resume, etc. it seems to age more appropriately than Jett, which just kind of stays kid-ish to me. My friend raved about how much they loved Jett and it had me completely second guessing Cannon!! Ahhh!!

Oh interesting -- does placenta positioning affect how you look? I have an anterior one.

Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Oh hun I love your boys names!!! Lachlon is gorgeous and fits right in! I still have the single pink sleep suit I bought when I was pregnant on DS1, I bought a blue one and a matching pink one and just can't seem to let it go. It's actually still underneath my bed from TTC. I think I will have a hard time getting rid of it.
I'd be the same at this stage. I had my scan at 15 weeks but the potty shot is pure boy so I'm not doubting it or anything but if I was to get a later scan and be told the earlier one was wrong I don't know how I'd feel. I think I'd feel my boy was taken from me or something. I can only imagine what its like to be told one gender and actually deliver the opposite!

Your boys names all sound so well together XX!! We were similar with DS2, we had a name picked from 20 weeks when we had the gender scan but when we met him it just wasn't right. We had NO other names lol. We both picked one each that we liked and I tried them out overnight but (obviously!) my one won in the end lol. I think we are best off not referring to bump as any name for now, I don't want to confuse the boys. And we can decide what he looks like when hes here (which I canNOT wait for by the way, I am SO unbelieveably broody at the moment. I just can't wait to have a newborn in the house again!!!!!)

I feel my DH says things on the spur of the moment to keep the peace and then backs down when he realises it might be a real possibility. He said we could try for a 4th child when we had the gender scan, I feel now that he only said it cause he saw I was so upset and trying to keep it in. Now that the idea of a 3rd boy has settled in with me he probably thinks that I will be ok if we stop at 3. He's probably forgetting I have always always always said I'd like 4 kids so its not like I'm throwing him a curve ball at this stage in our marriage!! When I was on LE last year I started on May 1 with the intention of starting ttc after my Aug AF. When it came time to start ttc he was so against it and I really feel that because he was only half into it it took us longer to conceive and therefore I got less girl friendly the longer I was on LE. I just want him to be open to it, I'm not saying I definitely want to have another one. We need to make sure a 3rd doesn't kill us first lol. Our boys are only 4 and 2 so hard work and then you add a newborn to the mix, its going to be a tough few months but I'm ready for it. I just love being a mom SO much - plus honestly I think I'm addicted to having babies!!! :P

I've been flip flopping names too!! We had decided long ago (when discussing TTC 2 years ago) on Cannon Leo. It's just a strong, unique name IMO, but not too crazy. We'd added Jett Leo to the rotation and I loved it, DH hated.

Oh thats a tough one Taytum!! Both names are lovely!! It's always good to have two choices though, just in case baby doesn't look like your first preference when he/she is born!!

Oh interesting -- does placenta positioning affect how you look? I have an anterior one.

Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I'm not sure hun. They say that babies "generally" face the placenta so if its posterior you might have a sunny side up baby (OUCH!) So I'm assuming bump shape is more to do with the position of baby. I know this little man is 100% facing my back most of the time, I'm getting all the same movements I got on DS1 and he seems to be in the same comfy position at each scan. DS2 was facing my front, placenta was anterior and the kicks were totally different. Bump shape seemed different too, especially compared to this time. My first pregnancy doesn't really compare as it was my first and none of the muscles were stretched out but this time for sure I'm carrying wider and higher. Its great actually cause on my first two boys I felt they were so low they might fall out at any moment lol though the only negative to carrying higher is feeling full a lot faster so I feel I'm constantly snacking, and the only negative to carrying wider is that none of my old maternity clothes fit me properly! Its a nuisance more than anything.

I have picked mine as well. I always select 2 and make the final choice after baby is born coz i guess i need to look at the baby to say what suits her best if u get what i mean.
I like short names abd i am all about meanings of names so my first choice is Ryna: queen
Second is Maysa: graceful

I have set up everything for the baby right down to the smallest detail this past weekend so i better not have any birth surprises or it will cost me a ton 😄

I love that mama botton spray too hopper !! Its a life saver.

I have been sick with respiratory crud and I feel so awful :sigh:. On a happier note, my super active guy is SO strong! My boys and DH love watching my belly move all over the place. Hes already kicking me in the ribs! I love his kicks and rolls so much:HH: My crazy pregnancy dreams are starting. I had a dream last night that I had twin boys! I think I had it because my almost 7 year old told me a few days ago he had a dream I had twins. It was so real! I still remember all of my crazy dreams with my other 2 boys. So weird!

OMG so its not just my DS2 lol!!! And DS1 isn't exactly palatable at the minute either lol. I think your DS2 is a similar age to my DS1 (he turned 4 in Feb) My DS2 is just gone two and boy is he terrible lol. But oh so cute. He's at that stage where he's really letting his personality shine through, I LOVE this stage even though it can be hard.
Sorry to hear you have been so ill. Its not easy being ill with kids but being pregnant at the same time is even harder!! Your little guy sounds so cute! :) I love this stage where they are still small enough to roll and move a lot without hurting. Its super cute. I'm getting the odd jab in the ribs but mostly punches around my underwear line, he's head down with his butt right around my belly button. I haven't had ANY crazy dreams this pregnancy, its annoying lol. I had copious ones on my first two and I used to get a laugh out of relaying them to DH but this time I'm getting squat! I do have this horrible feeling that baby will come earlier than I'd like, I don't know why and I just can't seem to shake the feeling. lol watch this space - I'll go 14 days overdue now after saying that lol.

I was ill with a similar thing a little over a week ago. Lasted about a week but the boys didn't catch it thankfully! Its SO hard when they are throwing up at night, sleep is next to impossible even when they stop throwing up cause you just want to be vigilant and make sure they are ok! I feel my eldest immune system isn't as strong as DS2s. DS1 tends to catch everything but I suppose he is in school where germs and bugs are rampant. It seems to be the time of year for bugs and colds etc, well at least here anyway. Everyone seems to be ill!! Hope you get to catch up on your rest soon x

Hi Missiz, I'd take your DS to the hospital or at least give him some hydrolite. I'm guessing he's probably dehydrated from throwing up and not drinking enough. At the hospital they can at least give him fluids and check he's ok. They see kids pretty quickly too. I hope they're better soon.

well we did end up taking DS2 to the hospital yesterday afternoon, he was just getting worse :( but sadly as i expected, they did nothing for him. listened to his chest, poked his belly, asked if he had blood in his urine or poo and that was about it. they tried to get some hydralyte into him but despite our best efforts he wouldnt take any, thankfully he was happy to drink his water instead. they didnt want to do anything invasive like put him on a drip or anything so basically it was a wasted trip... i came out of there crying. DS1 also got worse overnight, coughed consistantly all night so he is utterly exhausted.

Yes they are close in age! My DS 2 turned 4 in November. Its just so frustrating that he is being so difficult right now. He's so stubborn and just throws a fit if he doesn't get his way. And hes 4!!! That's what's so frustrating. He's not 2 anymore, he went through the "threenager" phase and now he's almost worse at 4! My cousin always said her little boy was worse at 4 and finally got better at 5 but I didn't really believe her:oops:. My DS 1 literally never had a "bad" phase.

I had another dream last night. This time I was sitting in a big comfy chair next to DH and I felt something and looked down and I had delivered my 25 week baby! My first thought in my dream was " NOOOO we need to put him back in". Then I looked at DH and told him to call an ambulance as I put him on my chest and tried to keep him warm. DH was way too calm in my dream! I figured this dream is from my paranoid NICU nurse brain.

So sorry to hear your kids are so sick missiz. I hope they turn the corner soon!

I can't seem to shake what I've got. Im coughing and coughing and coughing. My lungs are full of crap. I feel so weak and I'm constantly having to change my panty liner and underwear because my coughs and sneezes are so forceful I end up peeing a little:rolleyes:. Sorry for TMI. Im so over it.

I was wondering too if anyone has any tips on determining baby's position? At my 32+2 appt the doc said, "I *think* baby is head down..." But she couldn't tell. That seems scary to me that baby may be head down, but sunny side up. Ahhh back labor!! [emoji30]

I get lots of kicks to the right of my belly button and lots of movement up high. But I don't think I get any more u/s to know from here on out!

Taytum ... clinically its possible on exam for a physician to determine baby position but with DD2 in NY state i did get an ultrasound as well after 32 week (wheb baby becomes fixed in its position) to determine position. I dont know if i will get another now with this pregnancy my ob hasnt anything thus far

Thanks bluebooties! I was told time before that by 32 weeks she'd have an easier time determining baby's position from the outside. When she couldn't really find a head/body parts other than baby kicking her as she pushed, made me wonder if a back and butt are unfortunately in the back.

I don't think I get any more u/s unless something is wrong. So I guess we'll wait and see if the next appointment gives a clearer picture!

Yeah i think i wont get any sonograms either but then I can tell the babies position myself ... i am in the medical field.
yes u cannot tell if its a vertex (head) or face presentation. But that to us as physicians isnt important as both can be vaginally delivered. The worry is breech or worse foot presentation. If ur ob is not confidentally able to tell on exam alone u will be getting a quick sonogram

Babies can always turn at the last minute if they are in a breech presentation. Usually a good dr/modwife can tell the position of the baby.

I have delivered both vertex and face presentation and were fine.

They can try to turn baby if they are stubborn but ive been fortunate to have my kids head down and ready 😃 they just like to cook to term or over 😂

Im still having braxton hicks, guess i better get used to it for a while 😂

Me and dh went out for a few hours for a friends bday and another couple had their little girl who was 10 months with them. Hubby was quite upset that he couldn't have that father/daughter bond and experience what its like raising a daughter too. Makes me more determined to sway 100% next time if hubby's on board. 😎

Look into "baby mapping"! And from what I've been told, sunny side up position really doesn't matter until labor, when most babies in that position will turn.

Oh ladies I am so glad its not just me constantly thinking "Oh if I get to X weeks baby has a chance!" I dunno WHY I'm so paranoid this time but I just AM! You'd think I'd have been worse on DS2 as I had near constant pregnancy bleeds and on DS1 I was on bedrest for weeks at risk of preterm labour but nope, this time I'm 100% worse!

@taytum I think they should be able to tell if baby is head down at this stage but an u/s would probably be needed to judge presentation. I can judge this baby isn't sunny side up cause movements are very similar, like identical, to DS1 who was vertex, DS2 was face up and the movements were a lot stronger and in different places. I can honestly say back labour wasn't as bad as people say. I had my TENs and did the labour without any other relief, granted it was faster cause it was my second labour and the pains were definitely more intense but between a decent shower head and the TENs I managed just fine and just before he crowned he did shift into vertex position which is supposedly quite common. I tried the spinning babies site for moving him into vertex presentation a week or two before delivery and while he did swing around initially he moved back about 10 mins after - signs that he'd be stubborn for life which is proving true to this point lol!!

Sorry to hear so many ladies and kids are ill at the minute. My house is after getting a respite of late as DS1 has been on his Easter midterm but he's back in school this AM so I'm presuming we are going to be thrown back into the middle of it again. I can deal with coughs and colds generally but when it progresses to puking etc it just wears you out! I hope you get some respite soon xx

Awww Netti I really hope your DH gets on board :) After everything my own DH has been saying lately about having another one we had an incident yesterday that gives me hope. We were cleaning high-to-reach shelves and he was passing me down the bits and bobs and he came across my script for Clomid that I got the week I got my BFP. He put it in his pocket and said nothing, neither did I. Later once we had replaced everything he took the script out and said "You need to fill this soon before it expires" I took it from him and put it in my purse and we said nothing else but I'm taking that to mean he's game to go again if he's telling me to fill the script rather than bin it! Hope lives!!!!!!

The last few weeks seems to have re-stoked that in me too -- minimal appetite, smells are somehow worse again, general stomach upsets. Threw up in the garbage can after taking out the garbage!

Wasn't sure if it was stress for me or just sort of a weird third trimester thing... I know I struggled with the nausea until like week 17 or so.

Taytum it sounds like from your posts that your baby is head down and most likely he/she is with this being your first baby (more likely to go breech with subsequent pregnancies). But I will tell you, my DS 2 was breech from 29-34 weeks and it felt significantly different. Their butt doesn't fit into you pelvis as easily and their head feels like a bigger bobbling ball up high. His kicks were all low and he didn't roll as much. Your doctor should be able to tell you just by checking your dilation which they usually start checking around 36 weeks. Try not to worry though because even if your baby is breech its still early and there is still time to flip. And as for the sunny side up position- baby usually turns during labor and if they don't your doctor can help the baby rotate a little.

My little guy is all over the place- he's breech then head down. He's legs to the left then legs to the right. Hes a mover!

Hopefully your little one decides to stay head down soon!

So sorry your feeling sick Luvmyfam :( I hope you feel better soon. I wish I had a reason for peeing my panties but I dont, I unfortunately just go from all the horrible pressure I have down there. Has to be way tougher for you and kudos to you for doing your amazing job :)

@luvmyfam - thanks for the info! I think baby is head down too (sometimes it feels like my butt has a pulse during hiccups! [emoji12]) I just think baby keeps rotating from sunny side up to maybe sideways with back to my left and lots of movement and kicks on my right? I was just really hoping at 32w doc would be able to give me a good idea. But, maybe next week I'll know a bit more! [emoji4]

@yogi: this keeps happening to me too! I think that I'll pee and then maybe not get my bladder completely empty, I'll go, wash my hand, and as I'm walking out I'll pee the last bit. Ugh! Hope you're feeling better though with your nausea, that sounds miserable.

Hope all you ladies who were sick or had sick families are feeling better! I'm looking forward to nicer weather. It was 75 on Sunday here, but back down to average of 50 and rainy this week. Just looking forward to really nice weather all the time!

Hi girls, this is my first post in this group although I have been keeping an eye on you all. I swayed pretty hard for pink (my sway is easy to find in my previous posts as I haven't posted much). I had my 20 week scan this week and baby boy number 3 is on the way. I held it together in the scan room but burst into tears when I left the hospital. And felt terribly guilty about it as we have another healthy gorgeous boy arriving in August, how can I be disappointed? But of course there is an underlying sadness of what will not be. Will I pick myself up and look forward to meeting my little man? Of course I will. Picking a name and making it all real is helping. From a quick look of the stats it seems that our due date group is not doing so well in making our desired gender. Out of 18 women who swayed pink, 10 got pink and 8 did not which makes for a success rate of 55%. Slightly more than just taking it all by chance. Of course we are a small sample group but it's interesting don't you think? It does make me wonder if I put a little too much faith in gender swaying. It seems that the larger population of swayers that have achieved a 70-75% success rate on this site would disagree though. Are those stats really true? How do we know? It was still worth giving it a go though, I LOVED being super skinny when on the diet and it was fun to have something to focus on. It just didn't work out for me. And clearly quite a few others. Hey Ho. I'm going to raise wonderful little boys into amazing men that the world will be proud of...

Justhangingouthere- i didn't sway hard so i wonder if i should even include myself in the statistics. I found it so difficult to stick to the diet and didn't do the cardio. I think that's why its boy no5 for me.

Its still getting me down but I'm trying to push myself along. Sometimes i can't believe i tried 5 times and got all boys but i know i am very blessed and lucky. I found this time i put my faith in a tarot reader aswell as my own intuition as i was for sure 'this time its a girl'.

It makes me wonder if i had stuck it out and applied myself would it be different?and the thing is i was so impatient to get pregnant right away not only as it was the quickest way to see if i was having a girl but dh was indecisive with his opinions.

If he agreed one more time im going into the sway 150%. I look back and realise how boy friendly i am and its no wonder 😃😃

Sorry to hear u didnt get ur desired gender.
I am a sway failure too expecting DD3 in june and this was my first time swaying although looking back my girls were concieved under ideal girl sway conditions right to the T. So naturally i was quite disappointed when my boy sway didnt work.
When i looked at the stats i had a feeling that the majority of success ppl r ladies with 3+ kids. I have seen very few with a 2nd or 3rd child successful sway. And the natural fact is if u keep on trying u will get one DG in the mix so honestly i am not sure if swaying works or if its still nature that takes charge. I mean for example in 3rd world countries where women eat poorly (LE diet) they still have boys dont they ?
The only reason i went ahead with the sway is bcoz like i said after reading on this forum i realized my girls were perfect pink sways so that gave me hope.
I think its still fate and nature that determines what we concieve.
And please dont take me wrong i love this site and i have met a group of wonderful ppl here, i am just stating my views.

blue, hope baby gives you some relief from all that pressure.

And don't worry, spinning babies is not at all physical like an external version or anything scary like that!

yogi, I hope the med adjustments help you and you can keep that baby cooking <3.

I can't believe we're all getting so close!

I'm feeling more confident mine is head down now. A friend and I were talking last night and it hit me that um, wow, I'm going to have a baby in the next 5-7 weeks. I'm absolutely in denial. My goal for this birth is to breathe the baby out again to avoid tearing, and I'd really, really like to avoid BFing issues with this one. I'm pretty sure my last two have had lip ties and nursing was agony the first 10-14 days.
My OB says in the later weeks the baby will engage and then disengage periodically until 32 + weeks or till the head circumference is big enough to not be able to disengage.
The trouble is i am in my feet 24/7 and this makes the pressure and braxtons hicks soo bad. My DD2 i had same case and the irregular braxtons finally led to my water breaking and labor staring so i expecting a repeat this time too. I will be working till the last day unfortunately

Completely agree. Chances are it perhaps didn't even work for those that got their desired gender either, who knows what actually goes on in there.
Interestingly though, if I had got what I wanted then I would have been shouting the praises of this website from the rooftops. But I actually would have had no proof that it worked and it wasn't just up to chance. None of us have any actual scientific proof that what we did (or didn't) made a difference. It's probably just as well or the world's population may be quite unbalanced. I'd like to think that as a human race we are designed better than that. There were never any guarantees and I accepted that. If it's super important to me to have a wee girl in the future (btw I find it really cringy that so much people call their girl babies 'princesses'. Let's raise some kick ass independent women here ladies) then I have the HT option in the future. It's unlikely however. Think I might just love and enjoy the ones I've got, my little XYs that won the race, the ones that were destined to be.

Yes had it not been for the fact that the pink sway matched my lifestyle at the time of my girl conceptions i would not have swayed at all.
This was the last kid for me so thats that. HT was always an option but a) I cannot justify spending so much in getting my DG (that all it is my desire and need) when i can actually put that money towards my kids education. b) it somehow feels unnatural to me. As if nature didnot find me worthy of a son so i will get it out by force or something 😄

I'd say u look normal for ur gestation. I am nearly 32 weeks and have gained 24 lbs thus far but i tend to be on the smaller size with tiny 6 pounder babies

Ladies i went to my ob and she want me to repeat gestational diabetes test again next week. [emoji85][emoji37]

I can't remember if I posted about it here but I just had to take the 3 hour GTT in Monday. I failed the 1 hour last week for the first time ever but I think it was because I was sick the day I did it. My 3 hour results were not even close to abnormal. I hope you don't have it this time blue!

And your bump is beautiful!!

I've started drinking it already! And I'm only 28 weeks. It gives me some BH but nothing too serious.

I've been drinking it daily and am at 31 weeks -- everything I've read says it's fine in the third trimester.

Does it make you go into labor sooner? What's the secret with RRL?

They say it makes ur labour easier. And helps with second stage of labour. Pushing stage can be shorter

Thanks ladies!! Guess I need to get some then! Can I just get it at local supermarket? I've had BH throughout my pregnancy and I thought it started early for a FTM, so hoping that's a good sign too!

Love the bump Boom! You look beautiful!

I got it from a health store bluebooties. Make sure you get organic one.
I like the taste with a little honey[emoji4]

I drank RRL my second pregnancy and this time I started it at 20 weeks. I have uterine irritability abs it actually slows down my contractions. I think it did help with DS 2 though because I barely had to push with him! I buy it from the bulk herb store online and its loose tea. I have been drinking it as iced tea and I make it with honey.

I've found RRL leaf tea everywhere from the grocery store to the health food store to places like TJ Maxx/Marshalls! I also cold brew it in a pitcher and drink it iced!

Love her cute little nose, Fiya!! She's simply adorable! [emoji175]

I would have loved to have gotten to see our baby one more time, but I guess with 4-6 weeks left we'll just wait it out.

Same here taytum. I so wanted to take the girls in for a 3d/4d but then i thought holding and looking at an actually baby is still better experience that an ultrasound on screen so i guess i will wait.

I'm 34+1 and everyone who has touched my stomach the last few days says, "It's so hard and tight!!" And I agree, my stomach is SO SORE. BHs used to be uncomfortable and now they hurt. So hard to imagine it's going to grow for another 6 weeks!!

Also, hubby said he wants to go into hospital with at least 3 options for each gender. And I don't want to be overwhelmed - I thought we'd decided on a name and that was it! Anyway, any boy ideas from you guys? So far we have Cannon Leo and Jet Leo. So Leo is middle name and I need something unique and not common, but not weird? Ugh!
